Preservation, or lifekeep (LK), strengthens the bond tethering the soul to the corpse after death, preventing an adventurer from decaying or departing normally. However, one can still depart after using the UNLINK verb. Casting Preservation on an already kept body does nothing, one must wait for the spell to dissipate before casting it again. When the spell dissipates the default decay timer reactivates, this can act like a buffer so that Preservation may be cast again before the body decays.
Lore Benefit
Training in Spiritual Lore, Blessings will add 15 seconds per rank to the duration of the spell.
Other Methods
This is the spell found in white flasks, as well as one aspect of the pure potion if POURed into a corpse. The Order of Voln's Symbol of Preservation has a similar effect. Spirit Servants will preserve their masters upon death as well.
