Mass Elemental Defense creates a brilliant luminescence around the caster and each member of their group, providing them with a +20 bonus to all types of defensive strength, as well as a +15 bonus to elemental target defense. The duration of this spell is not dependent on the members of the group remaining joined to the caster.
Mass Spells
This is one of three spells, collectively and colloquially known as "massies", that provide a defensive bonus, affect all members of the caster's group, and remain persistent after the group is disbanded. As such, it is quite common for groups to form in public places specifically for the purpose of casting these spells. The caster does not need to be the leader of the group.
When cast, the spell automatically converts its effect into that of Elemental Defense III (414) upon every member of the caster's group. Therefore, in terms of stackable spell duration, Elemental Detection (405), and all other purposes, it should be considered to simply be a multi-target version of Elemental Defense III (414).
The other two mass spells are Mass Blur (911) and Mass Colors (611).
F2P subscribers can only affect themselves when casting these spells. To cast for groups, they would need to purchase a Spell Casting Pass.
