Writable book

Writable books were introduced aboard the Wavedancer in 2005, in a shop called Written Expressions. Players are able to create custom books by combining pages with covers. The pages have a 1021 character capacity; longer than the Wax Eloquent paper. In addition to longer page character counts, the books allow you to store small items within, such as a quill or the bookmarks also sold in the shop. The books have been recently sold at the Duskruin shop, Written Word. The books can also be found off the shelf at some merchant events and come pre-filled with pages that can be torn out. Analyze The creator has also provided the following information: This volume can be written in using either a STYLUS or QUILL as an implement. The following verbs provide the functionality for the volume: WRITE: With the volume open and either a stylus or quill in hand -- WRITE volume;{message} * To insert a line break in your writing, use the | symbol. TURN: Used with the PAGEs in the volume as the target to turn the page forward -- TURN PAGE FLIP: Used with the PAGEs in the volume as the target to flip the page back -- FLIP PAGE PUSH: Used with the PAGEs in the volume as the target to provide the current page number -- PUSH PAGE CLEAN: Used with the PAGEs in the volume as the target in order to erase the contents of a page -- CLEAN PAGE TEAR: Used with the PAGEs in the volume as the target in order to tear a page from the volume -- TEAR PAGE READ: Used to read the current page of the volume -- READ volume RUB: Fluff verb trap -- RUB volume The volume may be altered by a willing merchant, though it should always remain a book some sort. SIMULTANEOUS LONG and SHOW descriptions are supported, provided a skilled merchant is willing to offer the service. NOTE: Tearing out pages can cause your original page numbers to change! Try as you might, you cannot get a good sense of whether or not the volume's pockets could get any deeper, but you can tell that the volume is as light as it can get. Usage Verb Style First Third CLEAN Book You meticulously rub at the cover of your teak-bound logbook, trying to remove a non-existent stain. N/A Page, Written You gently wave your fingers over the page as you consider erasing what is written there. 30 sec window. You gently wave your fingers over the page, and the writing vanishes as if it never was. XXX gently waves her fingers over the page of her open logbook. Page, Blank But there is nothing on that page to erase! N/A CLOSE You gently close your teak-bound logbook, taking care not to bend any of the pages. XXX gently closes her teak-bound logbook. FLIP Book You rapidly flip through the pages of your logbook, looking for a particular passage. XXX rapidly flips through the pages of her logbook, scanning for a particular passage. Page You flip back to the previous page of your logbook. You're now on page 1. Roundtime: 3 sec. XXX flips back to the previous page of her logbook. OPEN You carefully open your teak-bound logbook, revealing the smooth pages of vellum within. XXX carefully opens her teak-bound logbook. TEAR Page Your hand hovers over the page as you consider tearing it out of your logbook. 30 sec window. You carefully tear the page from the logbook. XXX carefully tears the page from the logbook. TURN Book You turn your teak-bound logbook over, running your hand lovingly over its cover. XXX turns her teak-bound logbook over, running her hand lovingly over its cover. Page You turn to the next page of your logbook. You're now on page 2. Roundtime: 3 sec. XXX turns to the next page of her logbook. PUSH Page You thumb the pages of your logbook and find that you are on page 1. XXX thumbs through the pages of her logbook. WRITE Book, clean page You bend over your logbook and begin writing in Common. As your quill glides smoothly over the page, your words seem to fade into view as if magically aided.
