Brace causes thick plates of bone to grow on the caster's forearms. If not using a shield or weapon, these plates grant the chance to parry melee and ranged attacks. Brace allows two chances to outright parry an attack for double open handed combatants trained in Two Weapon Combat.
In addition to increased outright parry chance, melee strikes that hit the caster's arms (or a weaponless parry) have a chance to disarm the attacker. The chance to disarm is 25% and increases with Mental Lore, Transformation ranks. The lore bonus is 2% for each bonus per seed 3 of the Summation chart (see table below).

Disarm
A hobgoblin swings a mace at you! Using the bone plates surrounding your forearms, you parry the attack! A hobgoblin's mace strikes one of the bony protrusions on your forearms and it is wrenched out of his grasp!
Wearing off
The thick plates of bone around your forearms begin to crack, then shatter into a fine white dust.
