Summary

  • [[::Wehnimer's Landing|Landing]] and Mist Harbor adventurers gather in the Stumbling Pebble Bar to prepare to speak with Socius, who had said he'd provide information on the patchwork army. Greth, the bar owner, reminds everyone that Socius is under his protection and that of the town, and if anyone doesn't like it, there's the door. Socius is foggy, but does remember the last few months.
  • Socius emerges to discuss the situation. He has no memory before ten weeks ago, when a woman whose name he never knew recruited him. Juspera asks what she looked like; he says ivory skin, red hair, and white eyes, in a blue cloak. Magister [[::Raelee_Svala|Raelee]] fades into view and Socius gets his dagger, but Juspera and Faerinn assure him she's not her.
  • Socicus says she convinced him he had a mission and he understood that missions must be completed. She and a gnome named Callid are working to develop a perfect body and needed materials; he was in charge of procuring materials and was given soldiers to do so, created by Callid. When Callid said he had all he needed, Socius knew he wouldn't be allowed to live with his mission complete, so he left.
  • Various people debate the right or wrong or neutral of what Socius did, and the accountability or lack thereof, but amidst all that, the questions come:
    • Captain Shinann asks what the finished body looked like; Socius says he never saw it, or if it was finished, but he only filled the storerooms.
    • Guarrin asks where the storerooms are; Socius believes on the Isle, as he was always transported close to the city, and he's been searching for the entrance under the guise of going running. Shinann asks for a description; Socius says there's a chamber with no apparent exit, in which he always arrived, and from there a small hallway to the storerooms and beyond that the workshop. The complex is underground and dry. He says that the woman and Callid carry the means to transport there, if they can be taken.
    • Berost asks for clarification that the forces were transported and not camping around the Landing; Socius says that's correct, they'd transport in. Berost says that makes it more intriguing that Mother knew an attack was coming; Leafi sas they only knew minutes before it happened.
    • Dhairn asks where Callid takes vantage during assaults; Socius says he ventures into down in disguise for supplies but would never come along on an attack.
    • Naamit clarifies that the complex was on this island; Socius says yes, he's seen the motes that were a hallmark of the woman's workings. He tells Regwen there was a small storm of them at the east of town, but they faded at the water's edge.
    • Faerinn asks if she transported to the workshop with a book or more like our own transport trinkets; Socius says she used a bracelet, and Callid a necklace.
    • Berost asks who convinced Socius to talk; he says he's found it difficult to judge who to trust, but a young woman with a sharp tongue and strong sense of honor.
    • Raelee asks if Vlashandra ever mentioned Cordarius. Socius says that the third night after she recruited him, she invited herself into his chambers and tried to invite herself into his bed, but after that went differently than she expected, they didn't speak of much other than his mission. Raelee gives a description and asks if Socius saw him; he says no one alive matching that, but there were a great number of pieces and he saw every feature imaginable. Raelee asks if he saw coffins; he says no.
    • Mayor Leafiara says she doesn't understand why limbs were taken from children if the goal was a perfect body; Socius says they were given no specifications on race, gender, or age, but just to acquire as many as possible.
    • Berost asks if he heard the names Althedeus or Aralyte; he says no.
    • Yukito shows him a question in a book; Socius says another attempted to usurp his position and stop his mission, and he eliminated him. Terabor asks who that was, and Socius says it was a yellow-cloaked idiot.
    • Dhairn asks what the chamber was like; Socius says dry, cool, and almost no reverberation from the walls, leading him to believe it's underground.
    • Steeltalon asks if they always arrived in the same spot in the Landing; Socius says they were deployed to different locations based on where was thought to be most effective, and they could leave from any place.
    • Yukito shows him another question; he says Callid created the monsters and the woman made them move, but he doesn't know her method.
    • Dhairn asks how Socius got into the chamber; he says the woman was always at the rear and would provide transport.
    • Sreka asks why we should believe him; Socius says believe him or not and what we do with his information is none of his concern.
    • Roelon asks Socius to tell us if he sees an entrance to the chamber; Socius says he'll make it known when he finds it, likely before burning it down.
    • Leafi inquires if anything's in the way of searching right now; Socius says to look for the motes, as it's the only method he's been able to pursue--either that or getting a transporter off of Callid or the woman.
  • Loremaster Rohese, Flockmaster Nehor, and Juspera suggest looking for the Iyo, the original people of the island who live in the jungle. Socius says they're our friends, then seems surprised he remembered. He says his head is killing him and Greth orders him to bed; Socius thanks everyone for listening and wishes them good hunting, saying he'll assist as he can.
  • Naamit leads a group around the isle to points of interest including the Sunset Cay and the Banyan Tree, then discusses that out in the eastern waterways there are a series of islands, one of which was owned by Grishom Stone. She also shows everyone a twisting passage through the foothills, currently not traversible.
  • Afterward, Raelee discusses various Hall information: Vlashandra and Octaven are rogue mages not acting on mandate of the Hall. Cordarius is working against them and something may have happened to him. Cordarius wasn't working alone and has aid from at least one Grand Magister in the Swale; he had more information for her, but wasn't able to meet with her. Octaven isn't in the outpost unless she locked herself in a chamber Raelee isn't aware of, but she couldn't say if she truly went on a trip.
  • Guarrin reviews the timeline: Cordarius announces that Octaven suggested Pylasar's trial be held in the Landing, Vlashandra arrives, trial concludes, Cordarius announces that Octaven is not happy with the verdict--Raelee interjects that Pylasar was always supposed to be found innocent, and she knew the verdict before the trial was completed. Leafi adds that Cordarius asked us to be kind to Vlashandra, and Guarrin raises the possibility Cordarius was working with her. Raelee says she does not think so, and that she doesn't think Cordarius began truly investigating her until recently. She thinks he might not have known what she was doing and saw her as one of Octaven's victims, then began to investigate her and abruptly disappeared.
  • Raelee says we see the worst of the Hall's rogues because we live in a magically potent region outside of their jurisdiction; they couldn't do what they do elsewhere without being captured and executed.
  • Guarrin asks how Raelee would propose we handle Vlashandra; she says to allow her a few days. She expects that whether we help her at this point or not doesn't matter, and she wants information--and perhaps to ask the question of what we're actually stopping. She says a first step is researching means to dismantle the portal, something she has experience with.

Gathering With Greth

[Stumbling Pebble Bar II]

Dried, cracked boards mingle with newer knotted pine planks as they spread across the floor from the swinging oak doors to the white oak bar. Several half-cask chairs are arranged in circles around the room, their backs weathered and cracked, while plump couches face a fireplace that looks as if it has seen better days. A scattering of cracked peanut shells litters the floor around an oversized bowl that is set upon a faded blue rug. You also see a wide-mouthed mahogany barrel, a series of high barstools, a basket of sticks, Greth and a crooked rectangular mirror hung on the wall.

Also here: Mayor Leafiara, Alosaka, Lady Landrai, High Lord Talinvor, Roelon who is sitting, Faerinn who is sitting

Speaking to Greth, Faerinn says, "You fought five men and got a shiner for it. One of them never walked again."

Greth nods in greeting.

Berost deeply asks, "Where's tha ale?"

Leafiara grabs a sunset orange keg painted with ivory musical notes from a large pocket inside of her red silk cape.

Leafiara places her sunset orange keg on the floor and pulls out a small locking pin on the tap.

Speaking deeply to Greth, Roelon asks, "Ah suspect ye hae a few here anyway to help keep things...civil?"

Berost deeply exclaims, "Now there is a mayor!"

Alosaka says, "Rumor has it, behind the bar."

Roelon deeply says, "At least ah hope."

Dhairn quietly asks, "Who's buyin mah drinks?"

Speaking wryly to Leafiara, Talinvor says, "Seems I'm not the only one that brings their own drinks."

Speaking to Dhairn, Leafiara exclaims, "Free drinks if ya pour 'em from the keg!"

Greth grunts to himself.

Roelon offers Dhairn a polished crystal shot glass.

Roelon deeply says, "Drink that."

Dhairn accepts Roelon's crystal shot glass.

Dhairn quietly says, "Thank ya."

Roelon deeply says, "Oh wait, ah finish it already.."

Dhairn stares off into space.

Speaking hurriedly to Greth, Leafiara says, "Well, I do only have one flavor, but can put it away if you need the business."

Faerinn says, "Dhairn is buying drinks at double rate."

Greth grins crookedly, then protests, "Yer fine... jes' make sure'n take it with ye when ye go."

Leafiara nods slowly to Greth.

Dhairn quietly asks, "This keg... nice n' all of ya. But what's everyone else drinkin?"

Steeltalon raises his ivory drinking horn in a toast!

Steeltalon blinks.

Steeltalon says, "This isn't my horn."

Speaking deeply to Greth, Roelon says, "But if ah recall, it ain't ah true pub unless ah few chairs get broken over someone's head once in a while."

Speaking deeply to Dhairn, Berost asks, "Swill, pondwater and lily juice?"

Greth chortles to himself, then remarks, "Not today... this i'n't the time... might be the right place, but fer today, we'll keep it orderly."

Dhairn quietly says, "Greth makes sure the only mess he has to clean up is his own. Whether it be splintered stools, or coppery smears."

Chamorr heartily says, "Thanks."

Speaking to Greth, Faerinn says, "That trio of ladies can get pretty out of hand at times."

Speaking to Leafiara, Leifa says, "I brought you a bear." [she brought Chamorr]

Speaking playfully to Faerinn, Leafiara assures, "Any trio of ladies can!"

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Grrrr."

Naamit spends some time haggling with Greth Rottgut.

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr asks, "This the guy invadin the Landin?"

Speaking to Greth, Naamit offers, "Thanks."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Can we whack im."

Speaking slowly to Chamorr, Leafiara explains, "He's done with that. He was... used or manipulated somehow."

Speaking insistently to Chamorr, Leafiara exclaims, "No whacking!"

Speaking quietly to Chamorr, Dhairn says, "Smarter if ya dun."

Speaking to Leafiara, Steeltalon says, "So he claims."

Leafiara adds, "And we need information from him anyway."

Speaking to Chamorr, Faerinn says, "Keep alll your whacking behind latched doors."

Greth leans forward against the bar and narrows his eyes, announcing, "Ah got a couple things ta say afore this gets started. And bein' how it's mah bar, if ye dun like that... there's the doors an' have a great rest of yer day."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "He might remember more if we take a leg."

Tercor says, "Whackin' or not, this is going to be an interesting show, thats for sure."

Roelon whispers something to Leafiara.

Greth growls, "This man yer here ta speak with is under my protection... an' the protection o' this town."

Speaking to Chamorr, Steeltalon says, "No no, not the legs. To easy to regrow."

Leafiara whispers something to Roelon.

Naamit says, "No one will bring harm to Socius."

Rohese softly apologizes, "Forgive my tardiness."

Speaking to Rohese, Akenna whispers aloud, "We barely got started."

Steeltalon says, "We could always drag him behind one of the mine carts.. That would be fun to watch."

Leafiara amiably assures, "Shouldn't be a problem. We'll keep the sanctuaries going."

Greth states, "If there's any thoughts o' takin' him from here... or lookin' ta do him harm... Ah'll politely suggest ye ferget all about 'em. Next time won't be so polite."

Dhairn quietly says, "Too many of us here are willin' ta slash you up good for thinkin about it. So just be friendly like."

Chamorr heartily says, "Acourse not."

Faerinn says, "I didn't go through all the trouble of smuggling him out on my lonesome to see him taken from here."

Speaking to Naamit, Steeltalon says, "I never said we DO it. I was just suggesting."

Faint ripples in the floor beneath Akenna become apparent before quickly dissipating.

Sreka asks, "Why is the floor rippling?"

Speaking sternly to Steeltalon, Naamit says, "Not all suggestions need be offered."

Speaking surprisedly to Nehor, Akenna asks, "Are you sober?"

Speaking to Sreka, Juspera says, "It's a fox."

Speaking to Akenna, Nehor drawls, "For now. The day is young still, however."

Greth exhales, then notes, "He's still real foggy... but his memory's good fer the last few months. An' he's got stuff ye need to hear. Zofiya's convinced him it's the right thing to do."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "I'll behave."

Akenna offers Nehor a shot of Incandescent vodka.

Nehor airily declares, "Let us see the justice of the new Isle."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Fer now."

Akenna says, "Here, let me help."

Nehor declines Akenna's offer.

Speaking simply to Akenna, Nehor says, "After."

Speaking to Greth, Faerinn says, "That's good of her."

Speaking to Nehor, Faerinn says, "We already saw your vision for that. Hard pass."

Greth nods slowly, then turns and knocks twice on a small door behind the bar.

Speaking to Leafiara, Steeltalon says, "Did we bring an official scribe of some sort? We should record whatever he says with great detail."

Speaking to Steeltalon, Leafiara says, "I'm sure many will take notes, myself included."

Speaking softly to Akenna, Rohese whispers aloud, "I'll just go and stand at the back, this crowd is rather restless."

Speaking heartily to Nehor, Chamorr says, "I remember you."

Speaking simply to Chamorr, Nehor says, "Of course you do. I am, as they say, unforgettable."

Socius' Initial Information

Socius slides through the small door, his eyes taking the measure of all around him, and keeps his back to a wall.

Speaking to Socius, Naamit says, "Thank you for joining us."

Speaking heartily to Socius, Chamorr says, "Howdy."

Speaking amiably to Socius, Leafiara greets, "Hello there!"

Dhairn quietly says, "Now, don't you start thinking this mug of ale isn't a weapon."

Naamit whispers something to Socius.

Socius cautiously says, "Good... afternoon, all."

Nehor whispers something to Alosaka.

Roelon deeply says, "Afternoon."

Speaking fondly to Socius, Rohese greets, "Hello, Socius."

Socius slowly empties his lungs.

Speaking to Socius, Leafiara says, "I'd say great to see you well, but more like... 'nice to meet you'."

Speaking to Socius, Sreka says, "You look much more...lively...than the last time I thought I saw you."

>lo soc

You see Socius Leiffen.

He appears to be a Human.

He is plain-looking in every regard save his eyes, and has a huge scar running the length of his right cheek and down across the front of his neck. He appears to be in the prime of life. He has piercing light green eyes and deeply tanned skin. He has a bald head. He has an intense face and a narrow nose.

He is in good shape.

He is wearing a worn leather cloak, a stained leather tunic, a sleek leather pouch, some sturdy leather trousers, and a pair of black leather boots.

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "You should get Rohese to bring you a change of clothes. But yes, good afternoon."

Akenna whispers something to Rohese.

Speaking softly to Socius, Rohese offers, "I'll sort that out for you."

Socius nods slowly at Rohese.

Cryheart whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking heartily to Socius, Chamorr asks, "Did ya bring yer sewin kit?"

Guarrin whispers something to Cryheart.

Rohese whispers something to Akenna.

Socius glances around suspiciously.

Faerinn says, "Cave living is rough living."

Tabubu softly asks, "This is who was dug up?"

Leafiara whispers something to Cryheart.

Socius clears his throat.

Speaking to Tabubu, Leafiara says, "Convinced to return here by Faerinn, I believe."

Speaking to Tabubu, Faerinn says, "Not exactly. He was never buried."

Socius cautiously begins, "I... have some information to share..."

Akenna says, "That's true."

Rohese whispers something to Akenna.

Tabubu softly says, "I am confused."

Cryheart whispers something to Guarrin.

Speaking pleasantly to Socius, Leafiara agrees, "Please, we're all ears."

Speaking quietly to Socius, Dhairn asks, "You see anyone here you don't like the looks of?"

Akenna whispers something to Rohese.

Talinvor whispers something to Tabubu.

Socius cautiously continues, "I've... been assured that this is a good idea. And then after... I will answer any questions I can."

Rohese whispers something to Akenna.

Socius takes a deep breath.

Socius slowly empties his lungs.

Socius neutrally states, "I have no memory of any time earlier than ten weeks ago."

Leifa sarcastically says, "Lucky you...."

Speaking curiously to Socius, Nehor asks, "None at all?"

Talinvor distractedly says, "Convenient."

Speaking to Socius, Sreka asks, "Why not?"

Leafiara admits, "Kinda a shame since I've heard good things about you from before that time."

Steeltalon dryly says, "How convienent."

Socius tonelessly continues, "My first memory at that time is of a woman whose name I never knew... but she recruited me."

Tabubu softly says, "I believe he said questions at the end."

Akenna explains, "He lost his memories using the magic his father gave him to save the island."

Juspera says, "Ten weeks is like two and a half months."

Speaking to himself, Guarrin mutters, "More recent events I'm interested in anyway."

Speaking to Nehor, Faerinn says, "The chance for a new first impression was back when you were drunk."

Juspera asks, "What'd she look like?"

Skipjack says, "I love a good recruiting."

Leifa mocks, "Always with a woman."

Leafiara reiterates, "He did say questions at the end, but note them down for now..."

Speaking to Juspera, Socius says, "Ivory skin, red hair, and white eyes. And always wore a blue cloak."

Raelee suddenly fades into view.

Raelee squints at Socius.

Faerinn asks, "With gold flecks?"

Socius blinks at Raelee.

Socius removes a narrow-bladed eonake dagger with blood red runes along its blade from in his leather pouch.

Skipjack says, "Sounds lovely."

Rohese concernedly says, "Let the poor man speak."

Faint golden lines trace across Raelee's skin as she appears to focus...

Raelee gestures.

A translucent sphere forms around Raelee.

Chamorr heartily says, "A real looker."

Socius crouches, his gaze going hard.

Speaking to Socius, Naamit says, "Pause..."

Speaking to Socius, Juspera exclaims, "No that's not her!"

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn exclaims, "Woah, I made the same mistake!"

Socius stands, slowly.

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn exclaims, "There is another woman who wears her face!"

Raelee clenches her jaw.

Speaking to Raelee, Socius says, "Not you. Close, but not the same."

Tabubu whispers something to Talinvor.

Socius put a narrow-bladed eonake dagger with blood red runes along its blade in his leather pouch.

Juspera says, "They are connected but not like.. in a bad way."

Speaking to Socius, Leafiara guesses, "Taller, I'm sure."

Speaking curtly to Socius, Raelee says, "I know it is not me."

Juspera says, "More like a weird way."

Socius closes his eyes for a moment.

Faerinn says, "So we have a past now for Vlashandra."

Cryheart whispers something to Raelee.

Xilona whispers something to Rohese.

Juspera says, "If ten weeks past is past."

Guarrin whispers something to Cryheart.

Chamorr heartily says, "Maybe it is Raelee."

Socius flatly says, "The woman convinced me that I had a mission. While I have no memories, I do understand that missions must be completed."

Cryheart whispers something to Guarrin.

Dhairn whispers something to Leafiara.

Juspera says, "That's very... um..."

Sreka says, "That doesn't make sense."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "That explains why she was also so willing to give you up when you deserted."

Leafiara amiably prompts, "Please, go on."

Berost deeply says, "Crazy blood mage ....."

Talinvor quietly says, "Missions.. sounds to be the training of military to still have that determination embedded."

Socius steadily says, "She and one other... a gnome by the name of Callid... are working to develop a perfect body... and they needed materials."

Juspera says, "Like, I wouldn't complete any old mission just because it was there."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "That woman was the first to give a description of your face so I could confirm it was you."

Alisette inquisitively asks, "A perfect body?"

Tabubu softly says, "I am guessing a Dhe'nar."

Speaking to Alisette, Juspera says, "Yeah I was wondering if somebody needed a lady friend."

Socius tonelessly says, "I was in charge of procuring materials... and was given soldiers with which to do so."

Steeltalon says, "Memories or no, that takes a special type of twisted character."

Dhairn quietly asks, "This Callid.. is he the one who pieces them together?"

Speaking amusedly to Socius, Leafiara says, "You were pretty good at it even on your own, honestly."

Alosaka says, "If I had no memories, and someone came up to me with a mission to lead an army of horrid abominations against a town in order to slaughter thousands and harvest their body parts... I would like to think I would decline."

Speaking to himself, Guarrin mutters, "I wonder what else she wants from that portal."

Speaking to Socius, Juspera asks, "But I bet since you had no memories and you just needed something to hold onto, right?"

Talinvor quietly says, "Military indeed. Missions, and knowing how to lead soldiers - without any former claimed memories."

Speaking calmly to Steeltalon, Socius says, "I am what I am, memories or no."

Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn says, "Something to put in the body."

Speaking to Alosaka, Juspera says, "Yeah I probably would. But I swear Socius is a good man."

Speaking deeply to Guarrin, Berost says, "Not the pale blade elf lady, thats fer sure."

Naamit whispers something to Licel.

Alisette admits, "Not having memories would confuse one greatly and leave them off balance."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Who do we know that will prolly need a new body."

Speaking to Berost, Guarrin agrees, "Most likely not."

Cryheart whispers something to Guarrin.

Socius says, "Callid was responsible for creating the soldiers... he is a sewer of flesh."

Nehor dryly says, "How many towns does one have to burn to no longer be a good man? A year ago many here would have said just the one..."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara muses, "I assume whoever's creating the--"

Leafiara nods at Socius.

Speaking wryly to Juspera, Talinvor asks, "Your opinion of 'good' is a little murky, neh?"

Dhairn quietly says, "Thank you."

Juspera exclaims, "Nobody listen to Nehor!"

Guarrin whispers something to Cryheart.

Sreka says, "I hate to agree with Nehor, but I agree with Nehor."

Juspera says, "Not just today, but ever."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Aralyte."

Skipjack says, "Now there's a title..."

Speaking to Juspera, Nehor counters, "Hence why you folk always find yourselves in such perdicaments."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "No, I was thinking this Callid person."

Speaking sternly to Juspera, Licel says, "He does seem quite untrustable, to me."

Alisette asks, "What if it is for Aralyte?"

Speaking to Nehor, Xilona says, "And how many children did you burn, sir."

Speaking to Juspera, Licel whispers aloud, "I hear he's quite the drunkard, too."

Speaking to Xilona, Juspera exclaims, "Yeah!"

Socius says, "The woman ordered that Callid be given enough materials to produce 'perfection', and I performed that duty to the best of my ability."

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna asks, "How many lives did you end?"

Alisette horrifiedly asks, "What if she is without a form?"

Speaking simply to Akenna, Nehor says, "Less than this one."

Sreka asks, "What if it's for the body of the thing she was trapped in the valence with?"

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "Doubtful."

Faerinn says, "It could be, but Vlashandra should have mentioned that fact."

Socius says, "When Callid indicated he had all he needed, I knew that I would not be allowed to live, so, since my mission was complete, I left."

Speaking slowly to Alisette, Leafiara admits, "It's possible."

Questions and (Some) Answers

Speaking curiously to Socius, Talinvor asks, "And what were these... 'materials', exactly that you procured for this Callid?"

Speaking calmly to Talinvor, Socius says, "Body parts."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "I suppose I should be flattered then."

Berost deeply says, "Of ours, from tha Landin."

Speaking thoughtfully to Socius, Talinvor asks, "From the dead, or the living?"

Tabubu softly says, "So you are a skinner."

Alosaka says, "Living, shortly prior to becoming parts."

Speaking to Talinvor, Socius says, "Any that were fresh enough to take stitching well."

Sreka says, "So that's what the reapers were for."

Alosaka says, "Well, I think I've heard enough."

Talinvor curiously asks, "'Good man'?"

Alosaka says, "This man is a monster."

Akenna whispers something to Rohese.

Landrai says, "That is terrible."

Steeltalon thoughtfully says, "We have the players, the purpose, and now we just need a location."

Juspera says, "Well um."

Rohese whispers something to Akenna.

Speaking heartily to Socius, Chamorr asks, "Where is Callid and their camp?"

Dhairn quietly says, "You don't have the purpose."

Berost deeply asks, "Were yas tha one who convinced good man Socius here to meet us?"

Juspera says, "Socius is capable of a great deal. But it doesn't mean he would ever use it for a bad purpose if he was... himself."

Juspera exclaims, "I swear!"

Leafiara calmly opines, "Socius was manipulated in a state of weakness. I don't think we should hold him especially accountable."

Roelon deeply says, "Ah location would be ideal."

Speaking curiously to Socius, Talinvor asks, "And you performed this work, knowing this was wrong. But for the sake of the mission placed upon you?"

Socius tonelessly says, "I am what I am, for better or worse. I will not apologize for my actions."

Akenna says, "No.. he wouldn't have done this without his memories."

Rohese gently reminds, "This man was manipulated."

Speaking to Socius, Shinann asks, "What did the body look like when you were finished?"

Akenna says, "If he had them, he would not have done this."

Speaking accusingly to Socius, Leifa asks, "Why not just stay and face the consequences then?"

Akenna says, "Please."

Speaking thoughtfully to himself, Licel muses, "He looks quite trustworthy to me."

Speaking affably to Leafiara, Alisette says, "I agree, we must not judge so hastily."

Speaking to Shinann, Socius says, "I never saw the finished product... if indeed it was finished. I was only to fill the storerooms."

Speaking to Leafiara, Guarrin asks, "For ...how many weeks?"

Speaking to Socius, Leafiara professes, "It's enough to me that you turned away from the army eventually and are giving us this information."

Speaking to Socius, Guarrin asks, "Where are the storerooms?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Sreka says, "He's an adult. He knew what he was doing would hurt people. And he doesn't seem to have asked if there was another way--or who this was going to help."

Speaking to Leafiara, Sreka says, "This is wrong."

Juspera exclaims, "Well okay but you go lose all your memories and let's see what you do!"

Nehor disbelievingly says, "This is insanity."

Alisette argues, "But he told us he lost his memories!"

Speaking to Sreka, Leafiara says, "I hurt people all the time when the guild taskmasters ask me to."

Speaking quietly to Socius, Dhairn asks, "Did you hear any specifics as to what the body was for? Perhaps to house someone returning without one?"

Alosaka says, "He just told us that he only left these... horrid people because he knew they were done with him and were about to kill him. If they still had work for him, he would still be out there harvesting for them."

Speaking to Alisette, Talinvor says, "For the wrongs done before, but he knows this was wrong again this time. But did so anyway."

Speaking to Sreka, Faerinn says, "We tend to believe the first people we ever remember seeing and their instructions."

Socius says, "The storerooms, and the workroom, are somewhere here on the Isle, I believe. We were always transported close to the city. Under the guise of going running each morning, I have been searching for any sign of the entrance."

Alisette implores, "Let's think about what it must be like...."

Speaking evenly to Juspera, Raelee says, "That would actually be quite the interesting behavioral experiment. The nature of the self uninformed by experience."

Speaking to Leafiara, Leifa asks, "So you make excuses on behalf of this behavior now?"

Juspera exclaims, "They're here?!"

Naamit reminds, "I will not permit any one of you to harm Socius, whether directly or indirectly."

Licel offers Nehor a shot of Incandescent vodka.

Landrai asks, "How does one not know it's wrong to cut up people for parts?"

Nehor accepts Licel's Incandescent vodka.

Speaking to herself, Regwen asks, "Transported?"

Skipjack says, "I say ya tackle him, get whatever information ya need and sew him to a rolton..."

Speaking soothingly to Nehor, Licel suggests, "That might help."

Speaking to Licel, Nehor admits, "Yes I think I'll need this now."

Faerinn asks, "Here!?"

Speaking to Socius, Xilona asks, "Anything else you remember about where you were dropped off?"

Speaking wryly to Naamit, Talinvor says, "He's an instrument of destruction and murder. Of course you'd protect him."

Leafiara dubiously asks, "Do none of you regularly kill bandits for looking at you the wrong way? Is it just me?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna reasons, "It would make sense, the jungle is remote."

Dhairn whispers something to Socius.

Nehor says, "Watching as the man admits to slaughtering countless, and the mayor of the town claiming 'Oh it's okay', and then saying he is without remorse...oh yes. Gonna need some liquor."

Socius glances at Dhairn.

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "It's just you."

Akenna says, "We never found an encampment."

Speaking to Talinvor, Naamit says, "And you enjoy kidnapping children. I see pots and kettles everywhere."

Socius slowly empties his lungs.

Speaking to Leafiara, Licel asks, "I offer them a fair trial, first. You don't?"

Rohese softly comments, "He also happens to be a loyal and trustworthy friend ... we all see what we want to see when it suits us."

Speaking to Leafiara, Steeltalon says, "Let the courts decide on his fate."

Speaking to Rohese, Xilona says, "I couldn't have said it better."

Speaking flippantly to Licel, Leafiara says, "The bandts? Nah, I have money to collect for my bounties."

Socius says, "I have done what I have done, and will not apologize. Judge me as you will, it matters little to my state of mind."

Speaking softly to Rohese, Tabubu says, "More so here it seems then I have seen anywhere."

Speaking sadly to Leafiara, Licel states, "I see."

Speaking to Naamit, Talinvor says, "I believe that was Selbi's doing. And this one murdered the witnesses. I caused no harm in keeping the children out of the mayhem."

Speaking to Socius, Leifa says, "There's plenty of females here to forgive you, as is their nature, apparently."

Socius says, "I am here today in an attempt to share what information I have, not to bear your recriminations. If that is all you have to offer, you waste my time and your own."

Speaking softly to Socius, Tabubu says, "Well said. Own what you do."

Speaking heartily to Socius, Chamorr says, "Where did ya run when ya got transported."

Speaking to herself, Regwen says, "Oiy, that attitude sounds familiar to me."

Speaking to Nehor, Khylynnia says, "Oh, that's right...didn't Socius abduct me and take me to trial with you."

Speaking to Socius, Alosaka asks, "Knowing everything you know now, would you do it again?"

Speaking to Talinvor, Naamit says, "That crystal in your head has you misremembering."

Leafiara says, "Well, opinions all aside, the better question is how we stop this army..."

Speaking softly to Socius, Rohese says, "I'm sorry if any of us let you down here on the Isle and it led to this."

Speaking to Socius, Sreka says, "Can you give us a reason should we believe you now? You have lied to us a lot, you know."

Speaking to Alosaka, Socius says, "I would, if I judged it necessary. Without hesitation."

Speaking to Naamit, Talinvor says, "Neh, I remember quiet clearly, actually."

Akenna pleads, "He is a good man, he is without his learned sense of reason. Tell me do you know how you would have acted if you had been told that you had a mission to complete? If you were told that is what you were?"

Speaking deeply to Socius, Berost says, "Let them judge as they will, help us end tha damn blood mage and be on about yer life. Gods judge us all anyhow."

Speaking to Socius, Steeltalon says, "Keep in mind that people are naturally upset at your and yours. For good reason. But for now, please go on."

Speaking to Leafiara, Alisette says, "We need to get all of the details we can."

Leifa whispers something to Asben.

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn asks, "I have to know...are all the rankings in Vlashandra and Callid's organization anatomically named?"

Speaking heartily to Socius, Chamorr says, "Can ya give us a starting point in where to search for the workshop."

Speaking to Berost, Leafiara says, "Indeed..."

Guarrin suggests, "Showing the location of the storerooms would go a long way."

Speaking to Socius, Leafiara inquires, "Do you know for whom the body is being made?"

Cryheart asks, "If he remembers?"

Speaking to Socius, Shinann asks, "Can you describe the building where the storerooms are?"

Skipjack asks, "Anyone know why he's spillin the beans on all this now?"

Leafiara adds, "Or what the perfect parts even entail?"

Roelon deeply says, "He is tryin' to find it ah believe."

Tabubu softly asks, "Is this the end? Where questions are posed?"

Speaking quietly to Socius, Dhairn asks, "Something in your mind deemed the assistance you gave as necessary - even after all the lives were beginning to count. What was this?"

Speaking to Skipjack, Talinvor says, "Sympathy."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Berost says, "In tha end, I am a bit more curious as ta tha former mayor's reaction when she learns she being played."

Socius says, "I have been looking for that entrance. All I can say for certain is that there is a chamber with no apparent exit, and that is where we always arrived. From there, there is a small hallway to the store rooms, and beyond that, to the workshop."

Asben whispers something to Leifa.

Licel whispers something to Akenna.

Speaking to Berost, Leafiara muses, "Actually, considering what she said last night, I bet she knows."

Akenna whispers something to Licel.

Socius says, "The entire complex is underground, and dry... which for this Island appears rather unusual."

Leifa uneasily says, "They're creating an army."

Speaking to Nehor, Khylynnia says, "I am wondering if it is wise to trust the judgement of someone who can mistake me for Ordim....."

Speaking to Socius, Xilona asks, "What was around you BEFORE you got to the storeroom?"

Skipjack says, "Doesn't seem to me like he's lookin for that..."

Speaking quietly to Berost, Dhairn asks, "Is she being played? Or are we?"

Faerinn asks, "The caves under Banyan tree?"

Alisette inquires, "Anyone here recognize the area he is describing?"

Speaking to Socius, Regwen asks, "But its transported at times?"

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Berost says, "Doesn't surprise me, she would throw us all into the portal ta meet her end me thinks."

Speaking to Berost, Leafiara says, "She was far more confident than me that we'd end the patchwork army before Frontier Days, and usually I'm the one being called overconfident in the Landing's abilities."

Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna says, "Under my banyan tree? Oh no."

Skipjack says, "Seems to me like he's trying to get flesh into some workshop of horrors..."

Speaking amusedly to Khylynnia, Nehor says, "It's not so much that. Its the slaughtering of many for a mission...and the same people who railed against me seem to be so quick to forgive this one. Just...amusing is all."

Socius says, "The chamber I speak of was always where we arrived and departed from, often times with large numbers of soldiers."

Regwen says, "There are very uninhabited sections of the island."

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "You had all your memories."

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "You didn't lose them trying to stop.. well, you."

Juspera says, "How odd."

Speaking to Akenna, Nehor says, "He did not lose his reason or will."

Socius says, "If the woman or Callid could be taken, they carried the means to transport to that location."

Speaking to Nehor, Xilona says, "You did it knowingly and gladly, there is a bit of difference."

Shinann says, "So, there are probably soldiers there..."

Speaking deeply to Socius, Berost asks, "Tha whole of tha forces ya led would always be transported? Not campin around tha Landing I assume?"

Speaking softly to Nehor, Rohese reiterates, "Your actions were your own."

Speaking to Nehor, Khylynnia says, "It is amusing how when the tables are turned, the fickle switch sides."

Speaking to Nehor, Juspera says, "Nehor. You are not allowed to talk."

Leafiara asks, "A chamber with no exits but lots of soldiers?"

Speaking to Socius, Alisette asks, "What means, sir?"

Speaking to Skipjack, Talinvor agrees, "I find it difficult to believe anything coming from him, considering the what is conveniently forgotten."

Speaking to Socius, Terabor says, "I will not apologize. In my household, that comment alone would get you hung by your toes for three days with no supper. I do not judge you sir but you are wrong not to apologize for the things I saw happen because of you, no matter what your state of mind at the time."

Speaking to Berost, Socius says, "Correct. We would transport in, and then any survivors would return."

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "He was told that was what he was."

Skipjack says, "Fair enough."

Speaking quietly to Socius, Dhairn asks, "When you stage your assaults on the Landing, where does this 'Callid' person take vantage?"

Speaking to Socius, Naamit asks, "Wait, are you suggesting the complex was on THIS island?"

Speaking deeply to Socius, Berost says, "Makes them attacks a bit easier then, heh."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "So probably not the caves under the banyan tree I am thinking over, but something similar with a hidden entrance."

Speaking to Dhairn, Socius says, "He only ventures into town for mundane supplies, in disguise. He would never come along on an attack."

Asben says, "How didn't people here notice anything.."

Speaking to Socius, Leafiara clarifies, "Were they human and elven soldiers and so on, or... the trolls and orcs and whatnot?"

Speaking to Naamit, Akenna says, "It makes sense we never found an encampment in the landing."

Speaking to Naamit, Jasteron says, "Do not think it was suggested, but made clear."

Roelon whispers something to Cryheart.

Steeltalon says, "Well, we are able to freely transport back and forth. Why wouldn't someone set up a base here."

Speaking heartily to Socius, Chamorr asks, "This town?"

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Berost asks, "And makes Mother knowing one was coming .... intriguing?"

Speaking to Naamit, Socius says, "The complex is likely on this island. I have seen the motes which were a hallmark of the woman's workings."

Naamit whispers something to Akenna.

Juspera says, "Ohhhh..."

Speaking to Berost, Leafiara says, "Well, she did know only minutes before it happened."

Sreka says, "I don't trust him. I bet Vlashandra told him that if he was captured, he was to pretend to change sides so that she could capture the rescuers and 'harvest' them."

Cryheart whispers something to Roelon.

Juspera says, "I saw those little motes."

Speaking to Socius, Regwen says, "Ah, so look for the motes."

Juspera says, "I thought they were coming from the portal."

Speaking to Sreka, Leafiara admits, "Very interesting thought."

Speaking quietly to Socius, Dhairn asks, "You are willing to lend your blade in accessing this storeroom?"

Khylynnia whispers something to Leafiara.

Skipjack says, "Listen to this one."

Leafiara whispers something to Khylynnia.

Speaking to Sreka, Leifa says, "Your theory makes more sense than any of this rabble."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn asks, "Was her means of getting to the workshop like our transport trinks? Was hers a book?"

Speaking to Regwen, Socius says, "There was a small storm of them this morning to the East of town, but they faded at the water's edge."

Juspera exclaims, "Yes but none of you knew Socius before! We did!"

Berost deeply asks, "And I may have missed it, but who done convinced our good man here to talk?"

Juspera says, "I swear he's a good man."

Speaking to Juspera, Faerinn asks, "Motes!? Here?"

Khylynnia whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking to Faerinn, Socius says, "She used a bracelet, and Callid a necklace."

Leafiara whispers something to Khylynnia.

Speaking to Juspera, Terabor says, "He does not apologize. That is the only reason I judge."

Speaking to Juspera, Alosaka says, "I believe the man you knew was good."

Leifa disappointedly says, "We all think we know good men...."

Sreka says, "I knew Socius before, Juspera."

Khylynnia whispers something to Leafiara.

Leafiara whispers something to Khylynnia.

Regwen says, "The shake is in the east and has one entrance."

Speaking to Terabor, Juspera says, "He's still not quite himself. Or not at all himself."

Speaking calmly to Berost, Socius says, "I have found it difficult to judge who to trust... but a young woman with a sharp tongue and a strong sense of honor convinced me to share what I knew with you."

Speaking to Sreka, Juspera exclaims, "Yeah okay but maybe you didn't know him that well!"

Speaking quietly to Leifa, Talinvor says, "People choose moralities based on convenience, not on any structure of law."

Speaking to Juspera, Terabor says, "Precisely."

Dhairn quietly says, "We need to see Jebariah."

Juspera says, "He gave... himself... all of him... for the Isle."

Speaking to Juspera, Terabor says, "He needs to be contained until he is back to himself."

Speaking to Socius, Asben says, "We appreciate you telling us."

Juspera says, "For the protection and life of this town."

Speaking to Talinvor, Leifa says, "As is on display presently."

Speaking abruptly to Socius, Raelee says, "I have a question."

Xilona whispers something to Rohese.

Speaking to Socius, Skipjack says, "She sounds lovely."

Socius nods once at Raelee.

Speaking to Juspera, Terabor says, "His talk is not wholly believable until then."

Speaking to Raelee, Socius says, "I will answer if I can."

Steeltalon asks, "Is it possible to locate their Landing spot and bind or somehow use our trinkets to follow?"

Juspera says, "Okay but he's trying to help us by finding the workshop."

Speaking amusedly to Raelee, Leafiara says, "You always have at least one and usually more."

Xilona whispers something to Rohese.

Speaking to Juspera, Talinvor says, "Or a trap. I'm quite familiar with the concept."

Speaking to Juspera, Sreka says, "At least that's what he says."

Khylynnia whispers something to Regwen.

Speaking to Socius, Raelee asks, "... did Vlashandra, the one wearing my face, ever make mention of a man named Cordarius?"

Speaking to Juspera, Sreka says, "People can lie, you know."

Dhairn quietly says, "We need to find Jebariah. He anchors necklaces and bracelets to areas here on the isle. Mayhaps he remembers these two."

Xilona whispers something to Rohese.

Speaking to Sreka, Juspera exclaims, "I'm not lying!"

Dhairn quietly says, "Or at least.. where the anchor was."

Speaking to Juspera, Sreka says, "No, but he might be. He has lied to us before."

Khylynnia whispers something to Rohese.

Speaking coldly to Raelee, Socius says, "The third night after she recruited me, she invited herself into my chambers, and attempted to invite herself into my bed. After that went differently than she expected, we did not speak of much that was not related to my mission."

Rohese whispers something to Khylynnia.

Speaking to Sreka, Leafiara admits, "Anything's possible, like that he's lying right now, but we can at least hear him out."

Speaking to Socius, Raelee asks, "Or perhaps you saw him? Green eyes. Blonde hair with a black streak?"

Faerinn says, "Yeah, she was barking up the wrong tree..."

Leifa amusedly says, "So much for not remembering...."

Speaking to Leafiara, Sreka asks, "Why do we need to hear out someone who is a proven liar?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Steeltalon says, "But at this point, his is the strongest lead we have."

Speaking to Raelee, Socius says, "I saw none alive that match your description."

Terabor whispers something to Rohese.

Khylynnia whispers something to Rohese.

Speaking deeply to Raelee, Berost asks, "What be tha odds Vlashandra workin alone? Octaven tell her to do this then leave town... possible?"

Leifa whispers something to Talinvor.

Speaking patiently to Sreka, Leafiara asks, "How many times has he lied?"

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn asks, "...what about dead?"

Rohese whispers something to Terabor.

Speaking hesitantly to Socius, Alisette asks, "What about not alive?"

Speaking to Socius, Raelee asks, "... and what of the coffins? Glass? Did you see any?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Sreka says, "At least three that I can think of offhand."

Speaking to Raelee, Socius says, "Though there were a great number of pieces, and amongst them I saw every feature imaginable, I would wager."

Rohese whispers something to Khylynnia.

Speaking to Sreka, Leafiara says, "Almost everyone I've ever known has lied at least that many times."

Faerinn says, "Those he's only been missing for a couple of days. That can't be him."

Speaking to a massive snowy white tiger, Licel insists, "Frown, I said."

Talinvor whispers something to Leifa.

Speaking to Raelee, Socius says, "I saw no coffins."

Shinann asks, "Male or female?"

Faerinn says, "I have heard from Cordarius since Socius has left Vlashandra's ranks."

Speaking to Socius, Leifa says, "Sir, you just confessed to not remember, and now you are recounting bedside tales."

Leafiara says, "That was in the last ten weeks."

Speaking to Leifa, Naamit says, "You are misconstruing the timeline."

Raelee says, "... and I cannot say what Octaven knows or does not know, nor can I speak to what she may or may not have ordered."

Dhairn quietly says, "He said he cannot recall before recruitment."

Speaking to Faerinn, Raelee asks, "When?"

Steeltalon says, "Ugh, I'm imagining a mashup of Roblar, Leafiara, and Nordred all smooshed together like rolton parts in a sack."

Nehor drawls, "The timeline is quite simple. He claims he had no memories. Someone came and told him to kill a bunch of strangers in a town and gather their body parts. Once he was done, he left and is now here."

Speaking softly to Steeltalon, Tabubu says, "I imagine that image is different for each."

Socius glances at Nehor.

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "Let me recall when he posted his letter."

Leafiara says, "One thing I don't understand is why limbs were taken from children if the goal was to make the perfect body."

Speaking coldly to Nehor, Socius says, "Buy another drink, drunkard."

Speaking to Nehor, Talinvor adds, "Looking to invite all into the den of his master."

Speaking to Faerinn, Raelee asks, "Six days ago?"

Leafiara speculates, "Maybe the reapers just aren't intelligent enough to tell."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Berost asks, "Who be tha name of tha one Aralyte sacrficed herself to stop?"

Akenna happily says, "I'll get more silvers."

Speaking amusedly to Socius, Nehor exclaims, "I just didn't know how much we had in common!"

Speaking to Berost, Leafiara says, "Althedeus."

Speaking to Leafiara, Naamit offers, "Gnomes are irregularly short of limb."

Steeltalon says, "The reapers seemed quite dim."

Juspera says, "Perfect could mean anything. But yeah the reapers didn't seem too smart."

Chamorr heartily says, "Body of a giant head of a elf arms half krol and legs of a haflin."

Speaking agreeably to Naamit, Leafiara says, "Also true, which is why I think the parts are for the stitcher."

Speaking to Leafiara, Socius says, "We were given no specifications with regard to race, gender, or age. Merely to acquire as many parts as possible."

Juspera says, "It could mean... perfect for a very special task."

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "Do have another."

Dhairn quietly asks, "So this perfect body... will it be with or without Nehor's arm?"

Tabubu softly says, "Makes me question his memory."

Speaking deeply to Socius, Berost asks, "Anyone ever say that name about yas when ya were in there? Althedues, or Aralyte?"

Roelon deeply says, "Leftovers fir their patchwork army."

Talinvor distractedly asks, "How many families were shattered for this.. procurement?"

Steeltalon thoughtfully says, "Maybe the children were used as practice."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "I wrote to Cordarius after searching for Socius in nearby caves after his grand exit from the patchwork army."

Speaking to Berost, Socius says, "Not that I can recall."

Speaking curiously to Talinvor, Naamit asks, "How many children did you kidnap again?"

Speaking curiously to Socius, Talinvor asks, "Did they scream.. ask for mercy?"

Speaking sarcastically to Talinvor, Nehor soothes, "It's alright. Their mayor said it was okay."

Akenna says, "Something tells me it isn't Aralyte she's after in that realm now... she's building a body for something else."

Speaking to Faerinn, Raelee asks, "And?"

Leafiara muses, "Vlashandra's either going to have one heck of a time with volunteers for her final part now, or she better have some backup plans."

Speaking to Naamit, Talinvor says, "None, actually. I was asked to meet them."

Speaking flatly to Talinvor, Naamit says, "Liar."

Speaking to Yukito, Socius says, "There was another who attempted to usurp my position and prevent me from fulfilling my mission. I eliminated him."

Steeltalon asks, "None of that really matters, did we have any concensus on how to move forward? To stop this lunatic?"

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "So Socius was no longer in their ranks when Cordarius disappeared."

Speaking to Naamit, Talinvor says, "You make assumptions."

Dhairn quietly asks, "This chamber complex, Socius... what did it smell like. Was it arid? Was it.. humid? Warm?"

Speaking angrily to Nehor, Alisette says, "I believe you know nothing of our mayor, sir."

Speaking to Akenna, Regwen says, "Aralyte still had her body last we saw."

Speaking tiredly to Faerinn, Raelee says, "I am merely... attempting to find what ever information that I can."

Nehor teases, "What you believe matters little when it comes to reality, friend."

Speaking to Socius, Terabor asks, "Who was the other person? Was that the night at the gate when we saw someone come in and murder a target?"

Speaking to Dhairn, Socius says, "Dry, cool, and with almost no reverberation from the walls, leading me to guess it to be underground."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "Unless someone else is reading and answering the Councilman's correspondence. Which could be very disturbing."

Speaking to Faerinn, Raelee says, "You may not like the man, you may not approve of his position... but he is quite necessary. I cannot account for his whereabouts and that is a problem."

Rohese whispers something to Faerinn.

Speaking curiously to Naamit, Talinvor asks, "And when did you start caring for the fate of children, anyway?"

Dhairn quietly says, "A feasible guess... unless it's up high."

Speaking wryly to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Well, he did leave a letter right on my desk when I was away."

Speaking angrily to Nehor, Alisette exclaims, "And I suppose you are an example of fine reality? Look at you!"

Speaking to Terabor, Socius says, "I gutted the yellow-cloaked idiot in full view of the soldiers. It may well have been visible to any onlookers."

Speaking to Socius, Steeltalon asks, "When you came through to the Landing area, was it in the same position each time?"

Speaking to Socius, Terabor says, "I saw."

Speaking to Talinvor, Naamit says, "I don't, but I hate to hear you grandstand as some patron spirit of wholesomeness because the ruse doesn't work."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "Does this cave have a large crystal in it."

Speaking slowly to Alisette, Nehor admits, "I have seen...better days."

Juspera says, "Like why would you even wear a yellow cloak."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "I am trying to establish a timeline when he was last heard of and if it's feasible he was among the parts."

Speaking quietly to Naamit, Rohese commends, "It's not often we agree on something."

Jasteron says, "Should be killed just for wearing it."

Leifa says, "Not quite cause for gutting, but...."

Speaking to Steeltalon, Socius says, "We were deployed to different locations, based on where we ascertained we would be most effective. And we would leave from any place we liked, always arriving back to the same chamber."

Speaking wryly to Nehor, Talinvor says, "They'd probably believe I ground up the children for bloodwine, before they accept the truth."

Speaking to Naamit, Akenna says, "Get used to it, he doesn't have any sense of wrongdoing on his part ever. Though he knew where the children were, kept them hidden and didn't tell us."

Berost deeply says, "Anyone got some bleakstone on em? Make sure he hasn't seen that about tha workshop."

Speaking quietly to Socius, Dhairn asks, "What was your means of entry? A trinket like the others?"

Speaking to Socius, Guarrin asks, "So you are not certain where the rest of the mercenaries have camped?"

Speaking thoughtfully to Leafiara, Alisette says, "Best make a plan for scouting locations here."

Speaking horrifiedly to Talinvor, Licel repeats, "You ground up... children?"

Speaking to Talinvor, Nehor agrees, "Whereas the Butcher can admit to killing and collecting the parts of dozens, if not hundreds...and no that's okay because he lost his memory of the Isle."

Speaking thoughtfully to Nehor, Talinvor says, "Perhaps I should just let them believe I am truly such a monster."

Speaking to Alisette, Leafiara says, "We'll work on it, but I think we're going to need the expertise of the locals."

Speaking to Yukito, Socius says, "Callid crafted the monsters, and the woman... made them move. I know not her method... nor did I care."

Speaking pointedly to Nehor, Akenna accuses, "Lost it because of you and your ilk."

Speaking excitedly to Leafiara, Alisette exclaims, "We have quite a few!"

Skipjack says, "Alright! Who's gonna put a blade in this bilge rat..."

Speaking amusedly to Nehor, Talinvor asks, "Fascinating, isn't it?"

Dhairn quietly asks, "How did you personally get into the chamber after deployment?"

Speaking to Akenna, Nehor asks, "Monsters who kill and harvest organs must be fought, no?"

Speaking softly to Skipjack, Rohese exclaims, "No one!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Steeltalon asks, "So, what now?"

Speaking to Socius, Alosaka asks, "Socius... what does one do to their enemies?"

Speaking to Dhairn, Socius says, "The woman was always at the rear of the attack, and would provide transport."

Asben whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "When they have a sense of themselves, yes."

Leafiara reminds, "Socius is under Greth's protection--and Naamit's, and Administrator Ilsola's, and others'."

Speaking to Alosaka, Socius says, "Dispose of them in a way that deters others from considering paths that would define them in the same way."

Speaking to Leafiara, Nehor agrees, "Yes. They protect monsters now. Behold the new Isle."

Faerinn says, "Need to search for motes on this island to find her base."

Speaking firmly to Skipjack, Naamit offers, "I can show you the door dead or alive. The choice is yours."

Speaking to Alisette, Talinvor says, "He's not wrong."

Faerinn says, "Need to find and confront Vlashandra before her last ritual."

Speaking curiously to Rohese, Leafiara asks, "Any potential leads based on the description so far, Loremaster?"

Roelon deeply says, "Might be too late...."

Faerinn says, "Need to make finding Cordarius a priority."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Rohese says, "None, I'm afraid."

Speaking hopefully to Roelon, Alisette says, "Might not."

Alosaka says, "I have nothing else to ask."

Speaking to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "We'll try, but I doubt she'll give us that chance in person. She might even have ears here right now..."

Dhairn quietly asks, "Your mark, Socius. Can you show it to us?"

Speaking carefully to Faerinn, Raelee says, "He was supposed to meet with me near two weeks ago and he never did. What we were to speak of was... important."

Akenna says, "There are dozens of places to look here, it will take some time to find it."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Rohese apologizes, "Oh, did you mean location!"

Speaking suddenly to Rohese, Leafiara says, "Oh, err... yes."

Nehor laments, "If only there were a people who knew the Isle very well and could be called upon..."

Speaking to Rohese, Leafiara clarifies, "As in, where to start looking."

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "We have Naamit."

Naamit says, "It's as if there aren't any."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Rohese says, "Then yes, I have a few thoughts."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "He said he was going to speak with everyone a few days ago and didn't."

Speaking amusedly to Nehor, Leafiara says, "That's what I'm doing, with your Loremaster."

Roelon whispers something to Alisette.

Speaking to Nehor, Talinvor reminds, "But we cannot do any harm to denizens of this island. And she is .. a denizen, neh?"

Sreka asks, "Why is everyone in such a hurry to fall into a trap?"

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn asks, "Though he hasn't been seen by all of us since the verdict, right?"

Nehor clarifies, "Or you could speak to the Iyo."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Rohese says, "The first that comes to mind ..."

Nehor says, "You know, the ones who've lived here for...generations."

Speaking to Faerinn, Raelee says, "Yes. I spoke to him early in the hours of the morning on the seventh of this month."

Greth claps his hands loudly for attention, then calls, "Alright... Tha's last call fer Socius. Any more questions... ask 'em now, afore he plants that dagger he's fidgetin' with in someone's eye."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Rohese says, "I hate to agree with Nehor but yes, the Iyo."

Speaking thoughtfully to Nehor, Talinvor says, "Ordim might have to be convinced."

Socius glances at Greth.

Socius flashes a quick smile.

Akenna sighs, "They have been through so much because of the Flock."

Akenna says, "I hate to bother them."

Naamit whispers something to Socius.

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Rohese says, "The best person to ask would probably be Naamit, she has conducted tours of this Isle."

Speaking to Socius, Xilona says, "It is very good to see you, for what it's worth."

Sreka says, "He hasn't answered mine yet. Namely, why we should believe him."

Socius peers quizzically at Sreka.

Alosaka says, "I believe everything he's said."

Speaking plainly to Sreka, Naamit offers, "Do you have another choice?"

Speaking softly to Socius, Rohese echoes, "It really is good to see you and I will sort out some clothing for you."

Jasteron says, "Another prisoner, another lack of results, no torturing....coincidence, I think not."

Alosaka says, "Frankly, if he was going to lie to us, he'd have come up with more sympathetic lies."

Speaking heartily to Socius, Chamorr asks, "Ya say ya saw a storm a motes on the east side?"

Speaking to Sreka, Xilona says, "Do or do not, that's up to you. He doesn't have to prove anything to you."

Leafiara says, "Everyone can judge for themselves how much of his story to believe."

Speaking quietly to Socius, Dhairn asks, "Who are your enemies now, Socius?"

Speaking to Naamit, Sreka says, "Obviously. I can consider him a liar and not believe a word that comes out of his mouth."

Nehor admits, "The Butcher didn't lie. He killed dozens with no remorse. He is many things but he doesn't usually lie, except perhaps to himself."

Speaking amusedly to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "Good point."

Speaking to Rohese, Juspera whispers aloud, "Find something really good looking for him."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn asks, "So the motes you saw were to the east of the island. Near the jungle?"

Speaking to Sreka, Socius says, "Believe me or not, as you like. I have given you information. What you do with it is none of my concern. I will do what I will, and would expect nothing but that you do the same."

Tabubu softly says, "So it is a place in the jungle where motes can be seen ... its entrance acessible by magic only perhaps . ."

Sreka says, "I want evidence, that is all."

Sreka says, "Prove that what you are saying is true."

Yukito shows Socius his cloth-bound book.

Speaking deeply to Socius, Roelon says, "If ye should see an entrance to the chamber, please let someone 'ere know."

Socius nods slowly at Yukito.

Speaking to Sreka, Xilona says, "Prove to me why YOU should be believed."

Roelon deeply says, "As ah am sure we will all look more carefully around the isle."

Speaking quietly to Sreka, Talinvor says, "He is not bound by law here, and there will be no justice for those that have died to these machinations."

Speaking to Xilona, Sreka asks, "About what?"

Speaking to Sreka, Shinann says, "Why would he be lying? If he were to lie, he would have painted a prettier pricture, I would think."

Rohese softly announces, "For what it's worth, I stand by Socius and will be very aggrieved if I hear of anything untoward happening to him."

Speaking to Roelon, Socius says, "I am going to keep searching. When I find it, I will make it known... likely before I burn it down."

Cryheart asks, "Lady Rohese, ye sure he will stay in these parts?"

Akenna declares, "I too, stand by Socius."

Leafiara inquires, "Does anything stop us from investigating to find this chamber now? Maybe warn locals in advance of where the scouting will happen?"

Juspera says, "Yes, more information about it would be good."

Speaking to Cryheart, Naamit interjects, "He will."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "Where were they precisely? You know I was able to track you down. I could help."

Speaking to Sreka, Xilona says, "Anything! What you're asking is unreasonable. He does not have to prove anything to you. Either believe him or not. It's your choice. He has said what he has said."

Speaking softly to Cryheart, Rohese says, "We will ensure he stays here."

Speaking to Socius, Nehor says, "Killing and burning. I would expect no less."

Speaking to Leafiara, Socius says, "If you decide to search... look for the motes. They were a mark of her magic, in the odd times she used it."

Speaking firmly to Leafiara, Alisette says, "I am willing now, Mayor."

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "And I hope to find a way to bring his memories back."

Dhairn quietly says, "He's gunna have to plant that dagger in my back if he expects to be the first destroying that complex... cause I'll be two steps ahead of him."

Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "I do so hope I do... for your sake."

Speaking to Leafiara, Steeltalon asks, "Ms. Mayor, what's the plan?"

Socius looks thoughtfully at Dhairn.

Speaking to Akenna, Talinvor says, "Simple. Give him back his damned crystal."

Asben whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking to Talinvor, Akenna says, "There is another way, I'm sure."

Regwen says, "Ah so she would be present if the motes are."

Speaking to Steeltalon, Leafiara says, "If it's on the Isle, then Rohese and Naamit apparently have the best leads..."

Nehor crisply declares, "And with that, I think I shall take my leave. My one bit of advice...not that any of you will heed...is to seek out the Iyo. They will know. With that...I bid thee all farewell. I have a Whiskey to finish."

Speaking to Xilona, Sreka says, "The man has lied to us before in this very bar and in his office. Why should we keep believing him like innocent little lambs? Let him provide something useful that proves what he says. Plans. Records from his masters. Anything."

Speaking to Regwen, Socius says, "It's the only method I have been able to pursue. That, or getting one of the transporters off of Callid or the woman."

Alosaka says, "Emotions are... running high at the moment."

Speaking softly to Sreka, Rohese counters, "Because he has never lied to me."

Speaking to Sreka, Xilona says, "Then do not believe him. It is your choice. I'm just saying, he owes you nothing."

Speaking to Rohese, Sreka says, "There is always a first time."

Juspera says, "Oh... you know... we should really talk to the Iyo. Because they might have seen something."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn asks, "So the motes only show up when she's working? And seeing them easterly in the morning?"

Speaking softly to Sreka, Rohese says, "Or not."

Leafiara asks, "There's been a lot of chatter, so apologies if I missed this, but--are we certain it's on the Isle, or just speculation?"

Socius nods at Faerinn.

Speaking to Juspera, Naamit offers, "Not a bad idea."

Speaking to Leafiara, Socius says, "It is speculation, but I believe it to be valid."

Alosaka says, "With a bit of time to consider matters, I'm sure we'll settle on a reasonable path forward for the Landing."

Juspera explains, "The Iyo are the original people of the island. They live in the jungle."

Speaking to Juspera, Xilona says, "If that is our course, then we should do it quickly, before others whisper in their ears."

Speaking quietly to Juspera, Socius adds, "And they are our friends."

Socius blinks.

Socius scratches his head.

Sreka asks, "Whose friends?"

Speaking softly to Socius, Rohese exclaims, "You remembered!"

Shinann asks, "You remember?"

Socius closes his eyes for a moment.

Speaking to Socius, Juspera asks, "Did you remember something?"

Speaking to Socius, Alisette says, "You are feeling more yourself already, sir."

Speaking softly to Socius, Tabubu asks, "So I understand ... You want to find this place and couldn't. Your reasons are you own and we are going to help you find it cause of something you want there?"

Socius mutters, "My head... is killing me..."

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "I'll keep an eye out for them. Like I said, I was able to narrow down your own position when Vlashandra couldn't."

Speaking softly to Socius, Rohese says, "With a little rest, it will all start coming back to you."

Talinvor whispers something to Sreka.

Speaking to Socius, Naamit says, "The Iyo are a conversation for another day."

Sreka asks, "Any empaths here to deal with his headache?"

Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "You should probably rest. Memory is hard."

Greth bellows, "An' tha's it. Socius! Get ta bed, an' tha's an order."

Juspera says, "Oh yeah you should rest."

Socius blinks at Greth.

Socius nods slowly to Greth.

Juspera says, "And have a couple glasses of whiskey."

Speaking softly to Socius, Rohese says, "He's right."

Speaking appreciatively to Socius, Leafiara says, "Thank you for the information. I'm sure most everyone here will be looking into it."

Speaking to Greth, Xilona asks, "Keep an eye on him, will ya?"

Socius quietly says, "Thank you for listening... and good hunting. I will assist as much as I may."

Juspera says, "Goodbye Socius."

Speaking softly to Greth, Rohese says, "I'll stop by with some clothes later."

Socius slips through a small door behind the bar, closing it behind him.

Speaking mischievously to Socius, Leafiara says, "Good hunting? We plan on it."

Skipjack says, "He's a good helper...with all sorts of deeds."

Leifa declares, "I think what we're discovering is that this fella is not a good or a bad, he is just a man."

Speaking to Leifa, Leafiara muses, "Yep."

Greth Cleanup

Greth grunts and scrubs at his face with his hands, exhaling noisily.

Naamit says, "And water is wet."

Sreka says, "And not worth listening to, but I imagine everyone will."

Leifa says, "Perhaps the information that he shares could be of value."

Speaking to Greth, Akenna says, "Thank you again."

Speaking heartily to Greth, Chamorr asks, "Well. Where would you start searchin?"

Dhairn quietly says, "Welp.. I know what my evening looks like."

Juspera says, "Well."

Roelon deeply says, "More then what we had before."

Naamit says, "Everyone, tip Greth for his troubles."

Leafiara amusedly admits, "I hope he eventually remembers ripping off Nehor's arm and beating him with it."

Naamit says, "Don't order the broth however."

Leafiara says, "So I've heard, anyway."

Roelon deeply asks, "An isle tour?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Xilona says, "One can hope."

Greth grunts, "Yer quite welcome. An' thank ye all fer keepin' it civil. It's hard ta get blood outta these floors."

Juspera says, "See you can see just by looking at him that he's a good man."

Khylynnia whispers something to Leafiara.

Faerinn says, "I would start keeping an eye around the banyan tree in the jungle."

Speaking to Greth, Xilona says, "We both know that is a lie."

Dhairn quietly says, "Oh I know this place fairly well... and I doubt I'll find this complex if Socius couldn't."

Speaking to Greth, Naamit says, "Thank you for accepting the reservation on such short notice."

Berost deeply asks, "That book our dear blood mage always carry around, double as her transporter?"

Dhairn quietly says, "So I've got a few letters to write."

Leafiara whispers something to Khylynnia.

Speaking to Berost, Faerinn says, "No, it was a bracelet."

Greth gives Xilona a sly wink, and touches a finger to his lips.

Speaking to Greth, Leifa says, "There are herbs for that."

Alosaka says, "It seems to me there are two issues. There is the issue of Socius's guilt or innocence, which we can put aside for now. Then there is the matter of this location he described, which is of utmost importance to us."

Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna says, "I've not heard anything underneath it, I rest there frequently."

Leafiara reminds, "For the record, Vlashandra doesn't consider herself a blood mage. Or so she says."

Speaking wryly to Leafiara, Talinvor says, "Conveniently he will forget. But he's already rendered many others limbless since, that he can remember. Seems he has no remorse for it either."

Berost deeply says, "All of this begs ta differ."

Leafiara recalls, "And I can't remember if she used her own blood in the rituals at any point, either."

Speaking to Leafiara, Alisette says, "No."

Cryheart says, "Thank ye for hosting Greth."

Alosaka says, "As one who is... skeptical of Socius's morals, I am happy to abandon that issue for now, and suggest we focus on other matters."

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn says, "Vlashandra is a liar. That's what we really know about her."

Leafiara says, "All of that aside, though, one thing at a time..."

Greth notes, "Socius never had much in the way o' remorse fer anythin."

Juspera says, "Yeah we need to find that outpost."

Leafiara curiously asks, "Can we investigate at this very moment?"

Speaking deeply to Faerinn, Roelon says, "Or half truths."

Leifa says, "Seems to be the tone here."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "When Vlassy shows up for the rotual, we gets that bracelet offa her."

Berost deeply says, "Would love ta hear from our Council-man-mage if he still be breathin."

Speaking wryly to Greth, Naamit muses, "Someday I'll teach him how to have a heart."

Rohese lightly notes, "To know him is to love him."

Speaking to Leafiara, Xilona says, "Don't see why not."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara asks, "The book you mean?" [had totally missed the context of the bracelet being her transporter]

Speaking to Naamit, Xilona says, "Please don't."

Akenna says, "He is a good man, he just... can't remember himself."

Cryheart says, "We need to find the purpose of this perfect body."

Akenna says, "I'm trying to work on that."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara admits, "At least two people are going to try to steal it."

Talinvor says, "Ahh, so that's why."

Juspera dramatically exclaims, "Socius has a heart! His heart beats for Mist Harbor!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn says, "The bracelet is her transport device."

Cryheart says, "So-called perfect body."

Speaking quietly to Faerinn, Dhairn asks, "Hey.. quillpusher. Willing to show a pompous young upstart this tree?"

Alisette excitedly asks, "Who do I join?"

Greth snickers to himself.

Speaking suddenly to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Ahh."

Speaking curiously to Naamit, Talinvor asks, "Are you in love with him?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Might be a bit late for that, though..."

Cryheart says, "Ok..I need to go."

Leafiara acknowledges, "Still worth a try."

Talinvor says, "Mmhm."

Speaking to Juspera, Skipjack says, "And apparently several other folks' hearts as well..."

Cryheart says, "Thanks for the invite."

Speaking to Dhairn, Faerinn says, "Not with that attitude."

Alisette exclaims, "We are gonna go search!"

Touring the Isle

Naamit says, "If anyone wishes to go for an excursion, follow me."

Juspera says, "Okay I guess."

Leafiara recites:

"Join Naamit!"

Leafiara notes, "No Pukk here to say it."

Speaking to Naamit, Alisette says, "Am short, but I run fast."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Roelon says, "Nae the same unless Pukk says it."

Speaking to Rohese, Xilona says, "Now that I can properly say hello."

Speaking to Faerinn, Naamit says, "Up you come."

Speaking to Roelon, Leafiara concedes, "I know, but I try."

Speaking softly to Xilona, Rohese exclaims, "I've missed you!"

Naamit says, "First we will look in the eastern harbor."

Greth remarks, "I wish ye luck. If ye find the place, be careful."

Juspera says, "Thanks Greth."

Alosaka says, "He said it was a dry location, bound by stone."

Speaking softly to Greth, Rohese says, "Thank you."

Speaking cheekily to Greth, Leafiara says, "The Landing part of this crowd is very rarely careful."

Speaking to Rohese, Xilona says, "I have missed you as well. More than I care to admit."

Speaking to Greth, Regwen says, "We always try to be careful."

Alosaka asks, "The island has a water table. Are there any high points on the island? Mountains or tall hills?"

Speaking to Regwen, Leafiara emphasizes, "Try."

[travel]

[Eastern Harbor, Sandy Peninsula]

Flanked by water on three sides, the peninsula ends in a small wall designed to be a breakwater and intended to stop the erosion of the beach. Loud and persistent, the surf crashes across the sun-kissed sands. You also see a salt-stained wooden walkway, an oddly-shaped stone and a large peach and pink beach umbrella.

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Dhairn says, "Hey! Stop givin me a bad name I don't give myself."

Naamit breathes, "So much running."

[Sunset Cay, Approach]

A short dock rises from the white sand covering this flat wedge of beach. The occasional cries of seagulls blend with the soothing rhythm of the surf to create a relaxing susurrus. The salty breeze keeps the palms that are scattered about the shore in near-constant motion. Positioned to capture the amazing view, a cozy log cabin rests upon stilts just up the beach. Wooden steps form a winding path up to a blue-painted door at the front of the cabin. A footpath curls around towards a small garden. You also see a salt-stained wooden walkway.

Guarrin says, "Good pace though."

[Sunset Cay, Garden]

Partially shaded by a thatched pavilion, this fecund retreat invites relaxation. A curving two-person bench has been thoughtfully positioned just beneath the furthest edge of the pavilion to maximize morning sunshine and afternoon shade. The garden is overflowing with lush plants and exotic flowers that lend the breeze a sultry redolence. In the far corner of the garden, beneath the gentle shade of a sprawling fig tree, lies a well-maintained gravesite. A short path leads to a narrow glass-paned door at the back of the cabin. You also see the Dhairn disk, the Skipjack disk, the Guarrin disk, a massive snowy white tiger, a heartbroken dune spirit that is flying around, a jubilant river spirit that is flying around, a black-eared red and grey fox and a footpath leading back toward the beach.

Speaking to Alisette, Naamit says, "You'll just have to work out more."

Leafiara says, "No motes quite yet..."

Talinvor says, "Halflings can't run that fast. You have to throw them ahead of you."

Naamit says, "Now then. Once upon a time, a very silent place surrounded by stone was here."

Speaking to Xilona, Juspera says, "I would do so much if I had wings."

Naamit points at a well-maintained gravesite.

Skipjack says, "It is a lovely day for a stroll at the very least."

Naamit says, "This place may not be it, but it warrants consideration."

Talinvor distractedly says, "I wonder whose body it was, if not his..."

Steeltalon asks, "How often do these motes appear?"

Speaking to Steeltalon, Faerinn says, "When Vlashandra works her magic."

Guarrin says, "Frequently in the Landing...now."

Roelon deeply says, "Ah assume depends on the magic."

Leafiara says, "So maybe keep rotating watch over key areas...."

Regwen asks, "He said in a building that looked like one entrance?"

Roelon deeply says, "Ye kin see them in the Landin'."

Talinvor quietly asks, "Who is to say she is even on the mainland?"

Xilona whispers something to Juspera.

Speaking to Talinvor, Naamit says, "An apt point, one I am trying to figure out how to wrangle given our population."

Naamit says, "Let's head to the jungle first."

Akenna says, "I really hope it isn't an island."

Naamit says, "Moving now."

Leafiara muses, "Gold rings set to multiple points to watch..."

[travel]

[Monsoon Jungle, Banyan Base]

Clusters of bright fungus dot the soft ground surrounding an enormous banyan. The huge lattice-work trunk creates numerous hollows and nooks. Sparse clumps of vegetation creep about the base of the tree in a feeble attempt to thrive. To the north, a group of lichen covered boulders rise from the earth in a pyramid-like shape.

Naamit says, "Now then."

Regwen says, "Oh the shack."

Naamit says, "There is a complex deep beneath the tree."

Naamit says, "I urge you all to peruse it in your spare time, if you can locate the entrance."

Speaking nervously to Akenna, Rohese whispers aloud, "I haven't been here since the incident with Nehor."

Juspera says, "Yeah I should go. Very important things to do."

Speaking to Naamit, Faerinn says, "I checked on it too when I was looking for Socius in the first place."

Naamit says, "Third and fourth places.... We cannot all go therem so I will discuss it here."

Naamit says, "Out in the eastern waterways there are a series of islands. One was owned by Grishom Stone, whom I'm sure many of you Wehnimer's people know of."

Naamit says, "Paddling is a pain in the ass, so I am not taking you all out there. I encourage your exploration."

Chamorr heartily says, "That would make sense."

Alisette says, "I was lost out there for a whole day."

Trimie says, "A sound plan."

Naamit says, "Let me see if I can get us to the fourth place."

Faerinn says, "I think Stone sold that island."

Guarrin asks, "Who owns it now?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Alisette says, "Short legs."

Akenna says, "Who knows."

Talinvor says, "Privately owned, so I've heard the rumor."

Leafiara says, "Someone else does own it now, but I forget who."

Speaking to Faerinn, Naamit says, "He did, but it's possible part of the archipelago had an undiscovered island."

Naamit says, "Bertoch owned it."

Naamit says, "Moving again...."

Talinvor says, "The place is locked up, you can only arrive on the dock and in the courtyard."

Leafiara says, "I believe Goat would know how to get there--he's offered tours before."

[travel]

[Forbidden Hills, Grasslands]

Looming in the distance is a large mountain that stands in the center of the island. A cloud of mist surrounds the upper portion of the mountain, hiding it from view, while thick jungles ring it in a skirt of verdant hues. Winding its way through rolling foothills is a twisting passage that leads to the distant peaks.

Naamit points at a twisting passage through the foothills.

Naamit says, "It is also possible the crumbling passageway will at some point be crumbled enough to see us through."

Alosaka says, "He did say it was bound by stone."

Akenna says, "This is far enough away no one would hear forces moving."

Leafiara praises, "Good point..."

Naamit says, "One might also find a path into the mountain beyond there."

Naamit vaguely says, "Time will tell."

Akenna sighs, "I hope it isn't an island."

Naamit says, "Now, it is possible they were in the Voln Monastery, but I have grave doubts on that."

Dhairn quietly says, "It doesn't seem particularly dry or cool."

Alosaka asks, "Silly question, I'm sure it's already been answered. If their... laboratory, or whatever you call it, is here, why are they harvesting body parts in the Landing?"

Speaking softly to Naamit, Rohese says, "I would too."

Chamorr heartily says, "Prolly not."

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara speculates, "Throwing off the trail."

Speaking to Alosaka, Akenna says, "Not enough here maybe."

Speaking to Alosaka, Naamit says, "Socius cannot harm his own."

Chamorr heartily says, "Population."

Alosaka asks, "Why not put the laboratory in the Landing, then?"

Faerinn says, "There is a provide about not using the privy where you eat."

Regwen says, "All quiet at the shake near the black sands."

Akenna says, "That too."

Alisette offers, "Some sort of threat of recognition or detection here."

Alosaka says, "There's wilderness for days out there."

Akenna says, "This is remote, the jungle here is vast and so are the islands."

Akenna says, "If I were going to amass an army, I'd do it here."

Leafiara adds, "Most of the creatures they've been making for the patchwork army look like they're sourced from the area around the Landing, with some exceptions like the griffins..."

Talinvor distractedly asks, "What was Socius' sister's name.. supposedly?"

Naamit says, "Essit."

Raelee says, "... perhaps they do so in Wehnimer's Landing to be prudent. The portal is there out of necessity, and the portal does seem to 'feed'. The bloodshed may be an aid."

Talinvor asks, "Where was it again, she was presumed to have died?"

Speaking to Talinvor, Naamit says, "On the cliff above the Saewhenna Lagoon."

Talinvor says, "Just a thought."

Speaking to Talinvor, Faerinn says, "Off the cliffs."

Naamit says, "Let us go back to town now."

Discussioin Afterward

[The Portable Water Hole]

Oilcloth and canvas panels are strapped to monstrously large sea thrak ribs to create a weather-friendly roof that is loose enough to allow breezes to enter, yet tight enough to protect against rain. Several of the ribs are yellowed with age, while others display tiny fractures that are mended with wide strips of rawhide. A narrow corridor runs the length of the wagon with barely enough room to travel between the four booths housing tidy tables, the narrow entryway, and the bustling kitchen.

Akenna asks, "Why would she try and sleep with kin? I mean I know she was adopted but even still?"

Raelee says, "In the initial conflicts with Althedeus... so many conflicts were wrought explicitly for the purpose of shedding blood."

Akenna says, "If it is his sister."

Naamit says, "Essit is dead."

Speaking hurriedly to Raelee, Leafiara says, "Don't say that around Hapenlok or we'll never hear the end of it."

Akenna says, "Yes, she is."

Akenna sighs, "His sister was a rabbit hole."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "Teleporting is a fair option."

Akenna says, "A distraction."

Leafiara wryly says, "...then again, we never hear the end of it anyway, so never mind."

Dhairn quietly says, "It's more likely someone who hasn't had a man in.. countless ages."

Faerinn says, "Saying words around Hapenlok is a hazard, because he might say more back."

Akenna says, "I just want to add some clarity to that theory that it isn't her."

Terabor says, "Is it possible they have been processing body parts here? i noted a shop called The Slaughterhouse, inside it looks fairly legitimate but would not surprise me if that were a processing venue for the parts."

Steeltalon says, "Ok, time to explore and hunt."

Faerinn says, "Thanks everyone."

Speaking curiously to Terabor, Leafiara says, "Is it publicly accessible? Would be a bit hard to run an operation like that from a public building, I'd think."

Alisette says, "Yes, thank you all."

Speaking to Leafiara, Naamit says, "It is."

Alosaka asks, "So we've agreed that we're not donating any more blood to Vlashandra's rituals?"

Speaking to Naamit, Akenna says, "Thank you."

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "...it's possible she doesn't need any more."

Speaking to Leafiara, Terabor says, "It is."

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "That said, ah... I wonder how others will react to knowing ths."

Naamit says, "So, those are your four leads. I encourage you all to seek and share what you find."

Speaking to Leafiara, Terabor says, "If I were going to process people's body parts, I would use a shop like that as a front."

Dhairn whispers somethinig to Leafiara.

Speaking appreciatively to Naamit, Rohese says, "Thank you."

Speaking to Leafiara, Terabor says, "But I do see your point."

Faerinn says, "Thank you. I will be taking my leave and starting my lookouts."

Speaking in Guildspeak, Alosaka says something you don't understand.

Rohese softly adds, "I have books to catalogue, please excuse me."

Speaking to Naamit, Alisette says, "Thank you, Ma'am."

Akenna says, "Some may be so stuck on wanting Aralyte to return they don't care."

Guarrin asks, "I wonder what type of supplies the gnome would need for such work?"

Speaking to Akenna, Leaafiara admits, "I do wonder how many will."

Speaking to Faerinn, Terabor says, "Good to see you, take care."

Dhairn quietly says, "Aralyte may already be here."

Speaking to Leafiara, Akenna says, "I suppose you'll find out."

Trimie exclaims, "I have some studies to do. Be safe all!"

Leafiara says, "I think she'll have trouble getting the rest of her volunteers, unless she's beyond needing them."

Raelee says, "Perhaps this answers another question..."

Leafiara guesses, "The why?"

Alisette encouragingly says, "Will be sending good thoughts for you...."

Akenna asks, "Why she wants through?"

Raelee carefully says, "She indicated that she did not much care what happened to Aralyte after her retrieval, which I found rather peculiar."

Akenna says, "She wants to put something in that body, but I don't think it is Aralyte."

Raelee says, "Perhaps this is a stronger indication that she does not care, because this was never truly about Aralyte."

Leafiara says, "I still think the body is for this 'Callid' person, but..."

Talinvor asks, "Possession?"

Akenna says, "I knew it... always some other ulterior motive."

Talinvor says, "The body is just the shell.. has been said before."

Shinann says, "Maybe for herself."

Dhairn quietly says, "My guess is Aralyte and Vlashandra are the same."

Shinann says, "She keeps talking about getting her face."

Leafiara says, "I always thought it was for her own pride or sense of redemption, not for Aralyte."

Alisette says, "I do not think they are one and the same."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Perhaps she's after something else then."

Alisette says, "Aralyte was noble, self sacrificing and brave."

Talinvor asks, "And this is the same one that recruited.. and then bedded Socius?"

Akenna says, "I don't think so either... Aralyte was just an excuse to get everyone on her side to help her."

Alisette says, "Vlashandra...."

Akenna says, "She didn't bed him."

Akenna says, "He rejected her."

Akenna asks, "Weren't you listening?"

Raelee says, "I would expect the soulstone to be more reactive if Vlashandra were Aralyte in disguise."

Dhairn quietly says, "If you'd like to know what an extended period in the shadow lands would do to a person, look no further than the laws the Faendryl have put in place in regards to its transversing."

Alosaka says, "I mean... he says he didn't."

Speaking to Akenna, Talinvor says, "Perhaps I missed the part about his rejecting her."

Speaking to Talinvor, Akenna says, "Not surprising."

Speaking to Talinvor, Leafiara admits, "It was loud and I'm sure most of us missed at least part of the story."

Alosaka says, "Rather, he said 'It didn't go as she expected.'"

Speaking in Dhe'narsi, Tabubu softly says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Yukito, Alisette says, "Yes, that is a point."

Speaking to Alosaka, Talinvor says, "He doesn't seem the type to cuddle."

Akenna says, "Still though..."

Leafiara seriously says, "Well, on another note, we'll have to re-evaluate the Landing's relationship with the Hall and Empire. ...again."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee asks, "Why?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Talinvor asks, "A daily event, neh?"

Alisette says, "We have a relationship."

Speaking to Leafiara, Akenna says, "I think a never trust them ever, edict should be in place."

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara sighs, "Because they bring us no end of trouble."

Speaking approvingly to Akenna, Leafiara says, "I like it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Talinvor says, "Empire's playground."

Dhairn quietly says, "Aralyte is alive or dead, matters not. Vlashandra is clearly not who she claims to be. And has a body to house something from the Shadow realms. This something is either Aralyte or not, but if it was, she has already discussed not caring enough to ensure its 'perfection.'"

Speaking to Leafiara, Alisette says, "Mayor, I beg to differ, but that is for another time."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "Vlashandra is rogue. This is not the action of the Hall. Octaven is rogue... what she does is not the mandate of the Hall. Cordarius is working against them and now something may have happened to him."

Dhairn quietly says, "And this all could've been circumvented weeks ago."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "Nothing has changed. There is no reason to tear down the entire relationship because of the actions of the individual."

Talinvor distractedly says, "So many rogue hall mages.."

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara asks, "So the Archmagister and Royal Magister know nothing of Octaven?"

Alisette remarks, "Reading the historical scrolls shows that what Magister Raelee is saying is correct."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "I do not know what they know - but I do know that Cordarius is not working alone."

Alisette says, "They have not always given us trouble."

Roelon deeply says, "Ah shall hae to return later and search the isle ah bit."

Speaking to Dhairn, Terabor says, "How would you propose to get through it now? That is what I am interested in most."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "He has at least one Grand Magister back in at the Swale working with him."

Leafiara muses, "Neglect from Hall leadership... I guess that's better than malice, but.."

Roelon deeply says, "Be safe everyone."

Shinann asks, "Do you know their name?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "We do not know this is a case of neglect or not. Let us not leap to that conclusion. Cordarius had more information for me..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "But... we never had that meeting."

Leafiara mumbles, "Well, hopefully he's not dead."

Raelee says, "I have contact with the Grand Magister in the Swale. I am reaching out to him... but this will take time."

Dhairn quietly says, "Quite simply, we do not. The Patriarch would not allow another unsanctioned breach into the Shadowrealm, nor would the Empire. We simply put an end to Vlashandra, the breach stays impassible, and we deal with clean up."

Leafiara says, "I wonder if that letter on my desk was even left by Cordarius..."

Speaking to Raelee, Shinann asks, "Can you give us his name?"

Speaking to Shinann, Raelee asks, "The Grand Magister?"

Raelee sighs.

Shinann says, "Oh." [I assume the implication here is that it's her father]

Speaking to Dhairn, Alisette says, "You make it sound easy, sir."

Leafiara distantly speculates, "Even Cordarius might not be flippant enough to sign his title as 'Something Something.'"

Dhairn quietly says, "Death usually is."

Speaking to Dhairn, Terabor says, "I don't think Vlashandra is an easy target, nor that ending her ends it all... but I do wish to know more of your thoughts."

Dhairn quietly says, "I think Vlashandra is not of the Hall of Mages, nor is she Octaven's puppet."

Asben whispers something to Leafiara.

Talinvor asks, "Another witch to contend with?"

Speaking to Dhairn, Leafiara asks, "An impersonator then?"

Alisette says, "She is certainly a tortured....something."

Dhairn quietly says, "A traveller... so to speak."

Speaking to Leafiara, Akenna says, "I hope people listen, especially the former mayor when you tell her."

Dhairn quietly says, "Who has a vested interest in the shadowrealm."

Speaking heavily to Akenna, Leafiara says, "I highly doubt she will."

Dhairn quietly says, "I wonder if she is not Aralyte returned to us."

Leafiara says, "We'll definitely share this news, though."

Speaking to Leafiara, Akenna says, "I know how badly she wants Aralyte back."

Speaking to Leafiara, Akenna says, "Maybe Aralyte can stop it..."

Leafiara says, "They might very well get her, if the valence is opened, but..."

Leafiara says, "That would just be--incidental, is that the word? Incidental to Vlashandra's real goal..."

Shinann asks, "What else will we get?"

Dhairn quietly says, "Aralyte is a trained Palestra. She'll be able to stop whatever it is in the Shadowrealm that seeks to inhabit... this body."

Asben whispers something to Leafiara.

Alisette says, "I have been scrying by the portal for days."

Alisette says, "My images are always.....a blood moon."

Alisette says, "Among others that indicate vast danger."

Alisette says, "I know I am young...."

Alisette says, "But, I see what I see."

Speaking encouragingly to Alisette, Leafiara says, "Never too young."

Alisette says, "And I am hesitant to help Vlashandra."

Shinann asks, "Are we certain that Octaven took a trip?"

Alisette says, "Although I have....twice."

Speaking curiously to Alisette, Leafiara asks, "Would you even consider helping again at this point?"

Shinann asks, "Was Cordarius seen after we were told that?"

Speaking to Shinann, Raelee says, "Unless she locked herself in a chamber of the Outpost that I am not aware of... she is not there."

Speaking to Shinann, Raelee says, "Whether or not she truly went south, I could not say."

Speaking to Raelee, Shinann says, "Unless someone locked her up."

Speaking quietly to Alisette, Dhairn says, "At the very best, Vlashandra has been working against us in reinforcing our enemies desires. You should be more than hesitant."

Speaking to Shinann, Raelee says, "And it was Cordarius who informed me of her departure."

Leafiara says, "Balley also said she woudn't aid again, after having aided before... and that's even without knowing this."

Speaking hesitantly to Leafiara, Alisette says, "I would if it meant a difference for us."

Shinann says, "I see."'

Shinann says, "So, maybe that part is truth."

Leafiara speculates, "I'd bet that more people than not who already donated blood or anything else wouldn't aid again now..."

Chamorr heartily says, "There is a spot in the burrows chamber storeroom workshop."

Leafiara grumbles, "Maybe I should have given her soul essences I created, after all, instead of the ones Gutstorm did..."

Speaking to Dhairn, Alisette says, "My spirit is sympathetic to her. This is a change from my initial anger at her. I now seek to avoid her influence."

Dhairn quietly asks, "You are... fearful?"

Speaking pointedly to Dhairn, Alisette says, "I have been manipulated."

Leafiara clarifies, "Because the ones I made wouldn't work for her, I'm almost sure of it. Either they'd reject her ritual or destabilize it. But Gutstorm's might be suitable for her..."

Dhairn quietly says, "I simply hope I do not have to cross blades with a shadowrealm demon, AND Aralyte at the same time. The Palestra are not to be trifled with."

Leafiara says, "I wonder how she'll try to explain this one away."

Speaking curiously to Dhairn, Talinvor asks, "Do you think Aralyte still lives as.. herself. After all this time?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Alisette says, "We need answers before that ritual."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "Was it Octaven that suggested the trial be held in the Landing? I believe Cordarius announced it, aye?"

Speaking to Alisette, Leafiara says, "Said it earlier, but I doubt she'll make another appearance before then..."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Yes."

Dhairn quietly says, "As herself? I'm sure not. But whether or not she is alive, lost and insane, or... found and insane... is beyond me."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Which may have well and truly been a farce to place Vlashandra here."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Trial announced. Vlashandra arrives in the Landing...it wasn't until after the trial that the attacks started."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "The specific reasoning for holding the trial always seemed... entirely nonsensical to me."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Exactly what I was thinking."

Leafiara says, "Even if the valence is opened, I wonder who will enter it."

Leafiara says, "We already know a lot of people will stay back to defend the town as a priority."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "A trial in Wehnimer's Landing should have no bearing on whether or not he can be tried in Tamzyrr."

Dhairn quietly says, "Well I, for one. I've been there before."

Speaking surprisedly to Dhairn, Leafiara asks, "You'd go in?"

Leafiara mutters, "I sure don't plan on going in."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Trials are held in the jurisdictions that crimes are committed in - not where the individual is a citizen."

Dhairn quietly says, "I mean.. I wouldn't build a summer home there, but the trees are actually quite lovely."

Leafiara says, "For all we know, Vlashandra might try to close the portal while people are inside."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "Trial concludes. We are told ...by Cordarius...that Octaven is not happy with the verdict?"

Speaking to Raelee, Shinann asks, "What do you think will happen if the third ritual does not take place?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Right. Which in itself was peculiar as he was always supposed to be found innocent."

Speaking abruptly to Shinann, Leafiara says, "Good question."

Chamorr heartily says, "Last time this valence was opened Aralyte had to stay behind as a rear guard to keep the demons in."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "I knew the verdict before the trial was completed."

Chamorr heartily says, "So."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Then Vlashandra shows up, looking a bit beaten.."

Chamorr heartily says, "Who's gonna have to stay behind this time."

Speaking to Guarrin, Leafiara says, "I think I see where you're going."

Speaking to Shinann, Raelee says, "The portal will likely linger. It may keep feeding. It may destabilize if not properly maintained but allowed to feed on its own."

Speaking to Guarrin, Leafiara says, "And this was after Cordarius asked us to be nice to Vlashandra."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "That is disappointing to hear, although not entirely surprising."

Speaking to Chamorr, Terabor says, "A good question."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "Is it not possible then that Cordarius is working with Vlashandra?"

Guarrin says, "His actions, to some extent, seem to encourage our acceptance and sympathy towards her."

Shinann says, "He has said his face was changed..."

Speaking dryly to Guarrin, Raelee says, "I could have told you he would have been found innocent even before I was informed of it. If anything, the sentiments of Wehnimer's Landing are oft predictable."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "I do not think he is."

Dhairn quietly says, "Cordarius is a pawn."

Speaking to Dhairn, Raelee says, "No, he is not."

Leafiara speculates, "Maybe he's leading Vlashandra on."

Chamorr heartily says, "I has a question."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "Why?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "I do not think Cordarius began truly investigating Vlashandra until quite recently."

Dhairn quietly says, "If he were a willing part of the scheme, there are more than a handful of times where his use would've made things smoother on them."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "What goes on in that Hall o Mages."

Speaking to Chamorr, Raelee says, "Too vague. Try again."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Sounds like a school fer psychos."

Shinann says, "That is not productive."

Speaking flippantly to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "Psh, only three out of three of Dennet Kestrel's family who went to the Hall turned out to be psychos."

Shinann says, "You cannot blanket all on the actions of some."

Shinann says, "Even them."

Dhairn quietly asks, "Raelee, if Cordarius were a part of this scheme, does it not stand to reason that on any of a dozen other instances his appearance and direction could've more smoothly paved the road for Octaven and Vlashandra?"

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara assures, "I'm just teasing."

Speaking to Shinann, Terabor says, "But birds of a feather."

Speaking to Dhairn, Raelee says, "He is not a part of this scheme."

Dhairn quietly says, "That's what I meant."

Dhairn quietly says, "He was used if they misled him."

Shinann says, "Oh, I do think they cover things up."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Cordarius is working against Octaven. He may not have known precisely what Vlashandra was doing, and initially saw her as another of Octaven's victims."

Speaking heartily to Dhairn, Chamorr says, "Like Pylasar was used."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Then, Cordarius begins to investigate Vlashandra weeks later, and he abruptly disappears."

Speaking to Shinann, Terabor says, "I do agree we can not condemn a group for a few of its members though."

Guarrin says, "Then once Octaven ...left..he likely had more freedom to manuever and then gone."

Dhairn quietly says, "I agree. We've known Raelee for over a decade and yet we know that some of the Hall of Mages smile."

Talinvor distractedly says, "Sounds like the Hall is the center of the drama in much of this."

Dhairn quietly says, "I think the Hall is being used."

Speaking heartily to Talinvor, Chamorr says, "Always is."

Leafiara adds, "And despite Raelee and Bekke and Vlashandra and Cyph, we know not all of them are all about fire."

Speaking to Dhairn, Raelee says, "I am attempting to convey something important. Let us not waste time on pointless taunts."

Raelee says, "As I was saying..."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "Perhaps some connection between Vlashandra, the book and her purpose with needing perfect parts?"

Speaking to Dhairn, Terabor says, "Thank you for the levity."

Raelee says, "The reason the lot of you tend to frequently see the worst of the Hall's rogues is that you live in a very magically potent region outside of their jurisdiction."

Leafiara says, "Yeah, that's what Hap's been saying for years--regarding the Reach."

Raelee says, "They do what they do in Wehnimer's because they could not do so within the Empire without being captured and likely executed."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr asks, "Did ya hear about the mage from the Hall that didn't study blood magic?"

Raelee says, "That would be most of them."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Neither did I."

Speaking amusedly to Raelee, Guarrin says, "So the solution is to take down the Reach."

Leafiara muses, "Well, to be fair, is *studying* blood magic outlawed in the Empire or just practicing it?"

Leafiara slowly says, "I assume they'd have to at least study it if they ever want to battle Grishom."

Leafiara recalls, "And I think I remember hearing that he's wanted in Imperial provinces."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "The study is not specifically outlawed to my knowledge."

Raelee says, "As you say, one cannot combat what one does not study."

Talinvor whispers something to Leafiara.

Chamorr heartily says, "They can 'study' it there, but have to come here to put it to use."

Shinann says, "Well, to study it, I would think you would have to experiment..."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "Sounds about right..."

Leafiara adds, "But it's probably not everyone."

Leafiara cautiously says, "...maybe."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "How do you propose we handle Vlashandra?"

Raelee tiredly says, "Can we halt the blanket recrimination of the Hall for at least a few moments."

Leafiara amiably says, "Sure, sure."

Raelee says, "It is an organization of thousands. They are not all studying blood magic."

Alisette softly says, "I think I will be off for a bit."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "And to answer that... allow me a few days."

Raelee says, "I expect whether or not the lot of you opt to help her at this point does not matter. She will proceed with or without you."

Talinvor says, "No doubt."

Leafiara agrees, "That's probably why she wanted the essences early."

Dhairn quietly says, "Doesn't mean you get to make it easier on her."

Leafiara says, "Even without this information, the escalating rituals were pushing people away."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "I expect she will attempt to harvest whatever else she needs for the third part of the ceremony should we not continue with it."

Terabor says, "Why one has to halt the blanket recrimination for blanket defense, I am still pondering. I neither see the group as good nor evil. Just way over most people's heads and quite dangerous as such. And perhaps her proceeding alone would be a good thing. Without assistance."

Terabor says, "I am young though, and I do not think I know everything."

Leafiara reasons, "So she must have suspected there was a chance she wouldn't have enough voluntneers. And now it's even less likely."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "Why the delay?"

Speaking to Terabor, Raelee says, "It is not a matter of blanket defense. An entire organization should not be condemned based upon the actions of a minute fraction of its membership... combined with several blatantly false statements about the activities of the majority."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Because I do not have everything I need."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "What else do you need?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Information."

Raelee says, "... and perhaps we should be asking the question of what we are actually stopping. The end goal is still an unknown."

Dhairn quietly says, "Pretty sure it's... cultish in nature."

Shinann says, "She arranged to have our citizens murdered. She should be in our jail."

Leafiara says, "Whatever the goal is, it comes from someone who arranged for an army to attack us."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Agreed. We do not know Vlashandra's motivations. Outside that she likely needs something from beyond the portal. Something that requires a perfect body."

Talinvor says, "Until the next."

Raelee says, "If you do not know what you have stopped... you will never truly know that it has been stopped."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "You sound like they should continue this madness."

Leafiara muses, "True, but the question is if there's even a way to know what we're trying to stop."

Dhairn quietly says, "If it is an entity that requires a vessel from our valence to reside here, it is beyond the purvue of the current Enchiridion Valentia, and therefore of the utmost interest to the Clerisy."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee asks, "Did I suggest we continue this?"

Leafiara says, "Even if Vlashandra starts giving more details now, we can't necessarily believe her."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "And if whatever it is can be stopprd."

Dhairn quietly says, "Everything can be stopped."

Dhairn quietly says, "The question is how hard to do you have to hit it."

Speaking heartily to Dhairn, Chamorr says, "What if this body is for Althedeus, he's in there too ya know."

Dhairn quietly says, "Still stoppable given a big enough hammer."

Leafiara admits, "I'm not worried about Althedeus, mostly because Hapenlok and others who have been suspicious since the beginning haven't brought him up."

Leafiara wryly says, "And trust me, Hap has dozens of doomsday scenarios."

Leafiara says, "But Althedeus isn't one, even for him."

Speaking to Leafiara, Asben says, "Yet."

Chamorr heartily says, "Even though Hap dinna think it dont mean it won't happen."

Leafiara says, "Hap thinks of everything. Right now he's suspicious that Disean escaped the erithians and has the doll that Raznel created and is using it."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "When was the last time he was right."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Perhaps a first step is researching means to dismantle the portal."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Or, as you said, locate Cordarius..."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Ya know."

Leafiara says, "Well, he does get things right, but it's a matter of.... when you toss out fifty theories, you hit one eventually."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "That is a good idea."

Dhairn quietly says, "It seems we can kill three birds with one stone by writing the Basilica."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "But the portal goes back to that book."

Shinann says, "I did not realize today he was actually missing."

Speaking to Dhairn, Leafiara says, "I don't think they'll listen to anyone besides a Faendryl, but go for it."

Speaking wryly to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Fortunately, I have some experience with dismantling extraplanar portals."

Shinann says, "Until today."

Dhairn quietly says, "I do not count as a Faendryl any longer. I've transversed and am therefore fugitive."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Don't remind me."

Speaking knowingly to Shinann, Leafiara says, "We're too used to our Regional Envoy being away for years, thanks to Pylasar."

Speaking surprisedly to Dhairn, Leafiara says, "Oh."

Dhairn quietly says, "And we can't trust Lylia to."

Leafiara says, "Dismantling the portal, though..."

Dhairn quietly says, "But if the Basilica caught word of this, rest assured the portal would be closed, the clerisy would be in the shadowrealm, and Aralyte would be on trial."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "Alright, then research the portal. In the meantime, we can try to find the motes that lead to Cordarius."

Speaking to Guarrin, Leafiara says, "Or to... whatever they lead to..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Guarrin says, "I'm trying to remain optimistic about his fate."

Leafiara says, "He does show off surprising talents sometimes."

Leafiara says, "She might not have gotten to him... might not."

Speaking to Raelee, Guarrin says, "If I recall correctly from last time... you needed the area around the portal cleared."

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "Last time was quite different."

Leafiara agrees, "The Bleaklands portal was created very differently... we can't just deface runes this time."

Dhairn quietly says, "Hm."

Dhairn quietly says, "What if you consecrated the ground."

Chamorr heartily says, "Has to be dismantled."

Dhairn quietly says, "Turn the whole danged area into Cryheart."

Chamorr heartily says, "Ya know."

Chamorr heartily says, "You may not be far off."

Chamorr heartily says, "Cryheart's blood wasn't acceptable."

Leafiara muses, "So start with Cryheart and Maags..."

Chamorr heartily says, "A few others too."

Dhairn quietly says, "Another thing..."

Dhairn quietly says, "When we communed with Jastev to find out about Socius..."

Guarrin says, "That has been on my mind...so strange."

Dhairn quietly says, "Some entity in the fold kept blocking the communication."

Dhairn quietly says, "This would lead me to believe that whatever's in the shadowrealm not only knows what's going on here, but that we're trying to stop it."

Speaking speculatively to Guarrin, Leafiara says, "I'd bet heavily that your blood wouldn't work either even if you tried... nor mine..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Guarrin asks, "Why is that?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Leafiara asks, "Her only theory was that Cryheart had reservations, but it doesn't make sense to me--if he had reservations, why would he volunteer?"

Guarrin says, "That's not it. He was determined to aid Aralyte. I tried to talk him out of it."

Shinann says, "He was doing what he thought was right."

Leafiara says, "Others were thinking he's just too pure of heart, but after Alisette and Chandrellia were able to help, I don't think that's it either..."

Guarrin says, "A knight too pure of heart is a lovely ideal."

Guarrin says, "But that is not it either."

Guarrin adds, "As close as he may come to achieving that."

Leafiara says, "But... it might not be far off."

Leafiara says, "The portal keeps reaching out to Crux."

Shinann says, "Not surprising."

Leafiara asks, "A sort of... kinship?"

Chamorr heartily says, "Wait."

Leafiara says, "And Cryheart is about as opposite to Crux as we're getting."

Dhairn quietly says, "Crux is a bag of skin filled with shadowrealm dirt and bone."

Dhairn quietly says, "Makes sense."

Shinann says, "He has had a link with the valence since the last time we ventured there."

Naamit offhandedly comments, "I am surprised you're all still here." [we'd been here for over an hour at this point and she'd just returned]

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Dinna Cordarius write you a letter."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "He left it on the desk, yes..."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "But no sign of him since then."

Leafiara suspiciously says, "And a better question is if he was really the one who wrote it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Guarrin asks, "So you suggest we consecrate the area around the portal somehow?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Leafiara acknowledges, "It seems like a possibility at least..."

Dhairn quietly says, "We'd have to find out what caused his blood to react with the essences."

Leafiara adds, "Barring better ideas from Raelee on how to close it."

Naamit amusedly asks, "Why not put a plug in it?"

Dhairn quietly says, "Because no matter how hard I hit Cry, I can't exactly spread enough of him around."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "And not using more blood."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "Closing extraplanar portals of this nature is... delicate."

Leafiara notes, "Well, true, technically it's not even open quite yet..."

Dhairn quietly says, "Oh my.."

Dhairn quietly says, "But you can."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "While it may be somewhat urgent, it is best we not rush either."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "Should it go... wrong... it can be quite catastrophic."

Speaking to Raelee, Terabor says, "There is a point on which we are in agreement."

Speaking heartily to Raelee, Chamorr says, "Time is prolly not our friend."

Dhairn quietly says, "Naamit is capable of consecrating the land around the portal. I saw her do it once."

Dhairn quietly says, "I just don't think we can load Cryheart into Naamit's song like a wand bow."

Speaking to Dhairn, Terabor says, "But after consecration, those red mists would cover it all again and again yes? It would need constant re-consecration, to which I am not opposed."

Speaking quietly to Terabor, Dhairn says, "She made it rain blood."

Speaking to Dhairn, Terabor asks, "The mists are Naamit's?"

Dhairn quietly says, "Ask her."

Guarrin says, "Fairly certain the portal would just take that as another offering."

Naamit dismissively says, "I have business to conduct and will not be ever binding myself to the lake by your little hovel town."

Dhairn quietly says, "I was referring to finding what it was about Cryheart's blood.. and arming Naamit accordingly."

Speaking plainly to Dhairn, Naamit dissuades, "You should find another avenue."

Speaking to Naamit, Terabor says, "Are the red mists yours to begin with? if they are, i am sorry for my ignorance."

Leafiara says, "He's not enough anyway... even if we did know, we'd need several 'Cryhearts' worth of people..."
