Synopsis

Future Baron Elidal comes to Moot Hall, offering apologies on behalf of his brother, Magister Enisius, for having delayed the release of his application to make it perfect--but it's still on the way, intended by week's end. He tours the newly opened Town Councilors' offices--first Pookia's, then Kiyna's, then Vaemyr's, them Kayse's.

The town council, having considered Elidal's offer to authorize 40% of his weapon purchases from Wehnimer's Landing merchants in exchange for protection of the coming caravans, extend a counteroffer that they additionally receive assistance with sourcing quality stone and building materials to upgrade the palisades, albeit at a lesser percentage of the weapon deal: 30%. Elidal counter-counteroffers at 25%, but instead of his original idea of a one-year contract, he'll extend it to two. The Barony will aid in providing stone and supplies for stonework projects, be it walls or other things, and perhaps create a quarry near of the new mountains the Turamzzyrian Empire has claimed after it becomes safer.

The town council needs to hold a formal vote and contact Mayor Thadston (mayors don't get involved in town council votes unless they have a tie, in which case they're the tiebreaker, thus he needs to know) and no decision will be had on the spot. So, for now, Elidal moves on, saying that he's penned a persuasive letter to Earl Jovery throwing his support behind further clarifications on the protectorate status of the Landing with clear definitions and protections of its independence and freedom. However, it's the Earl's decision and he's typically not quick to make decisions such as these.

Before Elidal leaves, he "cautions" Icemule Councillor Sorlu against meddling in the affairs of the Landing so that the Council of Five "does not become the Council of Four."

Speaking to Kayse, Lylia says, "Xorus and I shall formalize our non-aggression treaty for our fifth wedding anniversary, perhaps. Or tenth."

Leafiara takes a bite of her salty popcorn.
Speaking to Leafiara, Lylia says, "You would have made a fortune selling that earlier tonight." [for the town council meeting]
[much later in the night...]
Speaking to Kiyna, Dendum says, ""If you believe this empire can define your rights with a pen you submit entirely to the empire."
Speaking to Kiyna, Dendum says, ""What it grants it can easily take away."
Speaking to Dendum, Kiyna says, "If we use this logic, we should not trust anyone's agreement on anything."
Saraphenia asks, "So, what happens to all of US when the Empire comes in here with a declaration that the Landing is Forfeit to the Empire and we all current residents need to leave and give up our homes and shops??"
Speaking to Kiyna, Dendum says, ""Or you can trust agreements between those who view themselves as equals and not slave and master."
Speaking to Lylia, Leafiara comments, "I see what you mean."
Leafiara takes a bite of her salty popcorn.

Chatter in the Snow

[Frith's Inn, Main Saloon]

Drawn by the aroma of good food and strong drink, you enter the main saloon. The innkeeper presides merrily, ensuring everyone gets a share of attention from the pretty serving wenches and the handsome lad behind the bar. Long benches and rectangular tables seat high-spirited patrons. You also see the Divinorium disk, the icy blue Ruikkai disk, an arctic wolf, some swinging doors and a cozy booth.

Icy flakes of snow flurry down from the blanket of night.

Leafiara exclaims, "Of course!"

Leafiara muses, "Looks like trouble."

Leafiara says, "But yes."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Seems to be a lot of snow tonigth."

[General] Helsfeld thinks, "You can get dark elf droppings from nordreds butt."

Saraphenia mutters, "Snow...."

[General] Helsfeld thinks, "I think he's a dark elf."

Leafiara says, "You've come a long way with your status in RYSK now."

Leafiara says, "I'm not sure when you intend to get to sleep, but... about to see what shenanigans get underfoot."

[General] Zaaldine thinks, "I think this is the definition of just "shooting the sh"... er this is public telepathy."

[General] Beckstabber thinks, "Butt thieves don't steal from each other! professional courtesy."

Saraphenia says, "I have at least an hour...hour and a half."

[General] Nordred thinks, "I'm just gonna stay outta this one."

Leafiara says, "Well, you're of course welcome to stick around for... whatever might happen tonight."

Leafiara says, "Though it might be enraging, never know."

[General] Pukk thinks, "With all this heavy snow we might need Cryheart to come and lead the lay."

[General] Beckstabber thinks, ""Nordred grasps your wrist with a shocked look on his face! You drop the item!"."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Or Leafiara...either way is good."

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the sparking Dendum disk, a resplendent obsidian black raven, the Yossarrian disk, the Elliathe disk, the Takaeshi disk, a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake sprouting yellow primroses, the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild blood red dog, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, the mist-hazed Asthenea disk, the Teutalalla disk, the Retelq disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the Anyauma disk, the Erieni disk, a grey wolf that is sitting, the Gemany disk, some ambrominas leaf, a minor mana potion, a rose-marrow potion, a blue crystal, a sinuous bone white serpent that is sitting, a fluffy white cat that is sitting, a large acorn, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a large acorn, a large acorn, a rose-marrow potion, some wolifrew lichen, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin and some wide stone benches with some stuff on it.

Also here: Event Planner Leafiara, Great Lady Saraphenia, Dendum, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Yossarrian who is sitting, Pukk, Lady Elliathe, Takaeshi, Missoni, Town Councilor Kiyna, Perigourd, Bernadette, Asthenea, Riptyl, Teutalalla, Stormyrain, Retelq, Anyauma, High Lord Irval, Erieni, Hobblesworth, Gemany, Toyina, Andromalius who is sitting

Speaking amusedly to Pukk, Leafiara asks, "You called?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Stormyrain says, "Not yet."

Speaking to Leafiara, Saraphenia asks, "Did Dragonfly thank Goddess for being comforting earlier?"

Speaking to Saraphenia, Leafiara exclaims, "Think so!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Dendum says, ""Missed council meeting."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "It's snowing really bad and we might need to join you to keep warm and you can lead the way."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Vaemyr says, "Ok, there was an incident with a militaman in town."

Speaking to Dendum, Leafiara says, "I was there. Or, I guess I should say, I sent a wolf on my behalf."

Leafiara removes a marred and hollow wolf bone from in her instrument case.

Leafiara waves a marred and hollow wolf bone back and forth. . .

The smell of well aged meat fills the air.

A grizzled wolf pads into the area and moves to stand at her side.

Pukk says, "Unless Cryheart come around...but...well...it's Cryheart."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Vaemyr says, "She can fill you in I think on the details I think."

Dendum says, "Poor wolf."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "Oh, that was you barking at me."

Vaemyr offers Leafiara a bone-shaped sugar cookie.

Leafiara accepts Vaemyr's bone-shaped sugar cookie.

Speaking curiously to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "You reproduced Barnom's recipe?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr exclaims, "Yes!"

Speaking surprisedly to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Huh."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Leafiara to keep warm!"

Speaking to herself, Leafiara muses, "I might have to reconsider my position that only three of the councilors are effective."

Speaking to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Pukk says, "Yes, you should join too."

Bernadette softly says, "Im ferdat."

Speaking suddenly to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "Wait, you didn't strike a covert deal with him, did you?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Wouldn't really know how to contact anyone in lich's landing to do so."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Guarrin asks, "No doubt you have heard the news?"

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara exclaims, "The real Cryheart has arrived!"

Stormyrain says, "I have heard that Kayse is seeking me, but beyond that--and some indication there was an issue..no." [Juramis brought a bruised militiaman to the town council meeting about an hour earlier who reported that he'd been roughed up by thugs in Bluewater Brigade uniforms because he was keeping too close an eye on the movements of Captain Bodohal's ship, the Shiver, which he saw moving toward Cutlass Cove]

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Aye, no pale imitations."

Speaking to Guarrin, Pukk exclaims, "You don't look like Cryheart!"

Pukk blinks in surprise as though just becoming aware of Cryheart's presence.

Pukk says, "Oh."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Not that it wasn't a thought... I mean I did ask for the recipe during the whole Vlashandra thing..."

Speaking to Cryheart, Pukk says, "Better late than never."

Cryheart says, "Was south."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Cryheart! He will warm your heart!"

Saraphenia asks, "Does this mean we get to fight something or talk it to death??"

[General] Yardie asks, "Speaking of, Gutstorm, do you have a favorite pie? Non-alcoholic of couse?"

Speaking to Saraphenia, Leafiara considers, "It's the Landing, so potentially both."

Irval asks, "Whats going on?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Nay the talki thing was earlier."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Bellaja says, "We already got talked to death.. and it wasn't even Landing folk."

Speaking softly to Mourdeyan, Bernadette says, "Gooda see ye."

[General] Beckstabber thinks, "I love a good cream pie."

Speaking to Irval, Mnar says, "Some lovely snow."

[General] Gutstorm thinks, "Lylia pie."

Speaking to Irval, Vaemyr says, "Just some snow."

Speaking to Irval, Saraphenia exclaims, "We're going to find some enemies and bore them to death with long dissertations!"

[General] Lylia thinks, "I beg your pardon."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Bellaja says, "It's possible."

Irval says, "Afer Evii blasted me with water earlier. I cannae feel a thing."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Bellaja says, "Not from me, though! I'm quite the storyteller when I need to be."

[General] Directed nervously to Gutstorm, Yardie coughs, "I don't think that would be.......I'm going to bake now."

Guarrin whispers something to Stormyrain.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Ye'll get one."

Saraphenia surreptitiously says, "And then there's that Nordred guy..."

Elliathe asks, "Is there a group?"

Elidal's Approach

[General] Elidal thinks, "Good evening friends."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Good evening Elidal."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Good evening yourself, Eli."

[General] Irval thinks, "Good Evening."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "Fair eve."

Nordred says, "I know, it's an event when i show up."

Guarrin whispers something to Stormyrain.

[General] Lylia thinks, "Good evening to you."

Elliathe says, "I needed to swap weapons."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "I hope you're doing well."

Kelfyr says, "No turkey vultures at least." [Thanksgiving invasions]

[General] Guarrin thinks, "Lord Elidal. Good evening."

[General] Elliathe thinks, "Good eve, M'Lord."

[General] Elidal thinks, "I heard a rumor."

[General] Leafiara affably thinks, "There are no shortage of those around here."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "You may need to be more specific."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Good evening, Lord Elidal."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Whatever it is, Amos did it."

[General] Lylia thinks, "Which one? I can think of half a dozen juicy ones."

[General] Cryheart asks, "Aye?"

[General] Elidal asks, "Your town councilors have offices now. Is this true?"

[General] Dendum thinks, "Good spies."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Indeed we do."

[General] Lylia thinks, "Of which I could be persuaded to share two quite openly and a third after drinks...ah. Yes, that rumor is true."

Bellaja whispers to the group, "It wasn't me. I've kept my nose clean!"

Kelfyr says, "I don't think I can drink any more coffee."

[General] Elidal thinks, "I would still welcome the other rumors Lylia."

[General] Coins thinks, "I heard that Missoni was going to marry Candor to ensure a political alliance between Wehnimer's and Solhaven. This would prevent the empire from laying claim to Wehnimer's."

[General] Missoni thinks, "That is false."

[General] Elidal thinks, "I will be along shortly, I'd like to see these new offices."

Vaemyr asks, "Shall we head back to the council chambers?"

Cryheart says, "We shall hold him down while ye beat him."

[General] Coins thinks, "You heard it here. Missoni wants the empire to claim Wehnimer's."

[General] Yardie thinks, "To those so eager to anger the sorceresses tonight....please don't."

[General] Leyann asks, "Did someone lose an ancient crusader?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr exclaims, "Welcome to politics!"

Kelfyr says, "Going to need something stronger to drink."

[General] Missoni thinks, "Also false."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "You are welcome to come and see."

Bellaja whispers to the group, "I suppose the offices are warmer."

Missoni mutters, "Though the second option is better than the first."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "An here I though it was a council."

[General] Directed to Missoni, Coins asks, "Why do you hate the citizens of Shanty Town so much?"

[General] Beckstabber exclaims, "Missoni's nasty dog bit me and gave me a disease!"

Cryheart says, "Moving to the outside of Moot."

[General] Kisun thinks, "There's a spell for that Beck."

[General] Perigourd thinks, "Then I suggest you keep your hands away from her pockets."

[General] Missoni thinks, "Winston does so hate hands near my pockets."

Speaking to Missoni, Alosaka asks, "The dog's name is Winston?"

[Town Square, East]

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see a frost-covered yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake, the Anyauma disk, the flaming Nairena disk, the flaming Saraphenia disk, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, the Elliathe disk, the Kelfyr disk, the Bellaja disk, the Guarrin disk, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the Kisun disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild blood red dog, a grizzled wolf, a grizzled porcupine, a plump brown mouse, a blanket of snow, the Moot Hall and a large purple wooden barrel.

Missoni cheerfully says, "It is."

[General] Beckstabber exclaims, "I'm just sayin' even councillor Pookia has had 'er shots!"

[General] Xylador thinks, "I'm not certain one more disease on the pile will cause that much more harm anyway."

Kiyna says, "And I had only just gotten finished roasting that crooked Icemule "councilor". Back to it, I suppose."

Alosaka says, "Making our councillors earn their paychecks tonight."

[General] Beckstabber thinks, "It's in the interest of public safety to ensure yer mangy mutts are free of disease."

The voice of Dendum says, ""The icemule councilor has done something the Kiyna has yet to do....get reelected."

Speaking incredulously to Alosaka, Kiyna asks, "We're supposed to get paid??"

Nairena says, "I think the last batch had it to easy."

[General] Coins exclaims, "Missoni does not denying hating the citizens of Shanty Town. She hates poor people and is only for the wealthy empire!"

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka exclaims, "You're doing this for free?!"

Bellaja says, "Uhm, he is not re-elected."

Vaemyr says, "Fairly sure Sorlu was just recently elected."

Speaking wryly to Alosaka, Leafiara asks, "Why do you think I got out first chance I had?"

[General] Beckstabber asks, "Waitaminute did you say... wealthy... empire.... ?"

Bellaja says, "Eh's barely been in two months and even then..."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "To be clear, the Landing councilors do not earn a wage. No more than enough to barely subsist on, at any rate."

Leafiara takes a bite of her salty popcorn.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Bet them's been 60 fun days."

[General] Missoni thinks, "I met my husband in the cul-de-sac near the hole where the rats live. I have no problem with Shanty Town or its residents."

Speaking to Leafiara, Lylia says, "You would have made a fortune selling that earlier tonight."

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka says, "Well, ah, you're earning the adulation and praise of the townfolks tonight, then."

[General] Coins exclaims, "And you compare a neighborhood to a rat infested sewer!"

Speaking dramatically to Kiyna, Leafiara exclaims, "Feel the praise! Feel the adulation!"

Leafiara waggles her fingers mystically at Kiyna. How nice.

Missoni exasperatedly says, "I am done."

[General] Nordred thinks, "Rats live somewhere to, sure it's a sewer."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna wearily says, "I'm feeling it. I'm feeling it."

Speaking curiously to Kiyna, Leafiara inquires, "Do you feel it?" [said at the same time]

Vaemyr asks, "Are we waiting here for Elidal or should we be waiting inside?"

Cryheart says, "Good question."

Cryheart asks, "Does he know the way?"

Saraphenia says, "I'm waiting for cake."

Speaking interestedly to Saraphenia, Leafiara says, "Ooh, I wonder if any of the offices have that."

[General] Dendum thinks, "Oi, Baron this council needs to know where to stand and can't make up mind without imperial directions."

Irval says, "Im freezin in parts that..."

Cryheart asks, "Hurt?"

[General] Beckstabber exclaims, "There's rats in every town! Ta'vaalor's got'em, landing's got'em... and in the Empire, they run the place!"

Speaking to Saraphenia, Elliathe agrees, "Everything is better with cake."

Kiyna says, "He's not inside. I found a sleeping Gutstorm in the council chamber, though."

Saraphenia asks, "Did ANYONE bring the cake??"

Lord Elidal just arrived.

Pukk asks, "Did somebody say cake?"

Cryheart says, "Evening."

Elidal smiles.

Elidal bows.

Lylia suggests, "I have cupcakes."

Elidal says, "Hello everyone."

[General] Coins thinks, "Surely the next action of the empire is to claim that Wehnimer's is infested and needs to be cleaned."

Elidal gazes in wonder at his surroundings.

Speaking to Elidal, Elliathe says, "Good eve, M'Lord."

Elidal says, "My brother apologizes."

Geijon greets, "Lord Elidal."

Elidal says, "Okay, he really didn't, but I will for him."

Elidal chuckles.

Elidal says, "He hopes to have his application availalble by week's end."

Vaemyr says, "Ahh."

Elidal says, "He has revisited it several times to make it perfect."

Speaking to Elidal, Saraphenia asks, "Did YOU bring cake??"

[General] Brakian thinks, "Certainly wouldn't be the first time."

Elidal looks over at Saraphenia and shakes his head.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "I'd expect nothing less of such a renowned intellectual."

Elidal chuckles.

Elidal says, "Renowned? He would be delighted to hear you say that."

[General] Helsfeld thinks, "As long as I have enough coins for that empire."

Kiyna snickers at Elidal.

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "We all know, he wouldn't care... most likely."

Elidal grins.

Elidal takes a drink from his cinnamon coffee.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna asks, "You said you'd like to see our offices, yes?"

Elidal says, "I heard your councilor's have offices now, and they almost burned down already."

Vaemyr asks, "But...! shall we get out of the cold?"

Elidal says, "Rumors, surely."

Elidal chuckles.

[General] Asthenea asks, "Anyone around 39 trains feel like smooshin some bandies with me in the grasslands?"

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Ahh not even a single chair thrown."

[General] Nordred thinks, "Lets just declare part of icemule or something. Then the empire can fight icemule and its some one else's problem."

Nairena says, "Some people has smoking issues."

Lylia says, "The burning was only a possibility, not a likelihood."

Elidal says, "I have some other news to share, but yes, let's see these offices first."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Pukk says, "Not trying hard enough."

Irval says, "And outta this cold please."

Cryheart says, "Join up."

Elidal looks for Cryheart in the crowd.

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "We have some news for you as well."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "There ye be Lad."

Cryheart starts jumping around like a twelve-year-old.

Cryheart says, "Here i be."

Elidal moves through the crowd, navigating between the host of people, to stand near Cryheart.

Elidal joins Cryheart's group.

Cryheart chuckles.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Aye, you too Ulfwine."

Saraphenia says, "I still want cake."

Cryheart says, "Onward and inward."

Cryheart says, "Staircase or south first."

Pukk says, "Yes."

Vaemyr says, "Staircase, lets head to the offices, don't think we need a tour of the whole building or we'll be here all night."

Bellaja says, "That.."

Nairena exclaims, "Bad bear!" [Gutstorm's bear coming in to get everyone]

Showoffices

[Moot Hall, Council Chamber] A rich merlot carpet stretches from end to end of this large, spacious chamber, which is aglow from the moonlight shining in through several arched windows along an entire wall. Large, verdant green plants rest in terra cotta vases in each corner of the room, and the walls are decorated with detailed paintings of nearby historical landmarks. A circular table sits in the center of the room, surrounded by several wooden chairs. You also see the Gutstorm disk, a pink oak door, a polished red cedar door, a reinforced oak door, an ivory-washed birch door and a wide burnished oak archway.

Speaking to Nairena, Bellaja says, "I need my ankles."

Nairena says, "Had a soft bite."

Cryheart says, "Here be a circular table."

[General] Lylia thinks, "That bear is a menace, and if it comes near me again, you are going to find it stuffed up an orifice that was never meant to house it."

Irval says, "Nice."

[General] Dendum exclaims, "So grumpy tonight!"

Guarrin casually notes, "Most of the offices are rather nice."

Mourdeyan quietly asks, "Ye put a till in awreddy?"

Geijon says, "Watch th' windows perhaps."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Bellaja says, "I guess the ties caught his attention."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Well here are our general chambers, the pink door is Pookia's office, the cedar door is Kiyna's The ivory-washed one is Kayse's and the Reinforced Oak door is my office."

Pukk says, "Good idea."

Evia says, "Nice and officious."

Speaking to Lylia, Elliathe says, "Noted never to get on your wrong side if I don't want my orifices potentially defiled."

Speaking to Bellaja, Nairena says, "Mine are protected by doeskin."

Elidal says, "Ah."

Elidal grins.

Elidal says, "It's hard to see from this side of the doors..."

Elidal glances at Cryheart.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna says, "I say again, 'office' is a very strong word for what you'll find in Pookia's... room."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "For those who wish to join us, we are currently touring the Council Chambers in moot hall with Elidal."

Ulfwine says, "I can still smell the torch smoke in here."

Elidal asks, "That bad earlier?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Ulfwine.

Speaking teasingly to Vaemyr, Missoni asks, "What are you reinforcing against?"

Ulfwine nods at Elidal.

Speaking to Elidal, Ulfwine says, ""Yes m'Lord, it got a bit heated."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "I thought that was cat hair, from tha huge herd of em."

Elidal asks, "But no broken windows?"

Speaking to Ulfwine, Kiyna says, "I could have made it hotter."

Ulfwine grins at Elidal.

Saraphenia says, "If I had an office, it would have Dragonflies all over it."

Elidal says, "Then I presume not all gone wrong."

Guarrin says, "Not yet."

[General] Dendum thinks, "Probably need a cobbler with measuring string for Baron so he can measure for new throne."

Guarrin adds, "It is early."

Elidal asks, "Shall we?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Cryheart.

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "All things considered I think our meeting earlier went fine."

Cryheart says, "We are here."

Speaking to Cryheart, Vaemyr says, "Pick a door any door."

Alosaka asks, "Why is it I can't walk into rooms in this town without imagining the council making their last, desperate stand here, with tables and chairs piled up against the doorway?"

Sir Cryheart's group just went through a pink oak door.

[Moot Hall, Pookia's Office]

Messy pink handprints wrap around the walls, a series of smudges and dripping paint also adding decoration. The floor is covered with a large white piece of canvas material which is littered with empty paint cans and splatters. A lone broken chair occupies the center of the room, its seat offering a home to a few refreshments. The pink oak door sits propped against the frame, removed from the hinges allowing open access into the space.

Cryheart says, "Oh..a tour."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Nairena says, "Id have floating shards of glowing essense creating a ceiling to starlight."

Vaemyr says, "Alright... well... this is.... Pookia's "office"."

Xorus says, "Rather like the Citadel in that way."

Cryheart says, "One broken chair."

Leafiara muses, "Most creative drink bar yet."

Kiyna says, "I first thought this was some bizarre art piece. It still might be."

Elidal asks, "This is still unfinished?"

Cryheart asks, "Seen enough of this unfinished room?"

Cryheart says, "Seems so."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Oh no it's... finished."

Elliathe says, "Very pink."

Cryheart asks, "Really?"

Elidal says, "I see..."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Pookia tells me this is how it's intended to look. This is the finished product."

Nairena exclaims, "No tasty beverages??!"

Nairena says, "Come on pookia."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Um...nice door."

Alosaka says, "Maybe we leave this room off of future tours."

Pukk says, "This is what I'm talking about."

Pukk raises his chocolate milk in a toast!

Elidal says, "The next room."

Elidal nods at Cryheart.

Missoni confusedly says, "I wonder if this is what it looks like inside of her psyche."

Vaemyr says, "Anyways... Pookia had other business, but she would be quite happy to share her paint job with everyone..."

Kelfyr says, "Squid and milk."

[Moot Hall, Kiyna's Office]

Paneled ivory silk walls are painted in warm-hues detailing a phoenix and stylized flame motifs, the design only stopping to give way to an arched window. Lodged into a corner, a mahogany bookshelf claims residence, its shelves covered in a number of tomes. A matte gold leather armchair sits behind a burnished red modwir desk, its surface haphazardly stacked high in paperwork. A cozy chestnut brown leather couch faces the desk, flanked on either side by tiered end tables hosting refreshments. You also see a polished red cedar door.

Nairena says, "Shes copying Chandy's old office."

Bellaja says, "It doesn't really encourage confidence."

Kiyna says, "This one's my office."

Kiyna nods at Elidal.

Elidal says, "Well designed."

Elidal nods at Kiyna.

Cryheart says, "Ahhh..something to drink."

Elidal glances at a mahogany bookshelf.

Cryheart says, "Nice."

Speaking to Kiyna, Missoni says, "Lovely view."

Elliathe approves, "Oh I do like the phoenix."

Elidal asks, "A brief history of the Turamzzyrian Empire?"

Elidal says, "Hopefully not too brief. You'll miss too many things."

Nairena raspily says, "Burns goin down."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "Gotta start somewhere."

Speaking to Elidal, Bellaja says, "There is nothing brief about that."

Xorus says, "Ah, yes. My text on banking."

Cryheart says, "Ye need more books."

Elidal grins.

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara considers, "You know, for a halfling, these are really big rolls you're serving."

Elidal says, "Banking Reform? Ah, a good sleep aide. Every office needs one."

Elidal nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "They're just the right size of roll. Enough to last for at least one and a half meals."

Elidal says, "Next office Sir Cryheart."

Speaking to Kiyna, Perigourd says, "You're missing "how to Fell the Fell"."

Speaking to Kiyna, Geijon says, "Looks great."

[Moot Hall, Vaemyr's Office]

The plain white walls of the office appear almost out of place amongst the assortment of books, maps, documents, and alchemical instruments scattered about. A large map stretches across one wall, with smaller maps of other continents pinned to the edges to expand it. On the opposite wall a large window next to a big oak desk shines moonlight into the cluttered room. A small tray at one edge of the desktop, the only clear space amid the tall piles of documents, holds refreshments. You also see a reinforced oak door.

Vaemyr says, "Ahh, this is my office."

Ulfwine says, "Maps."

Vaemyr says, "Sorry about the mess..."

Vaemyr says, "I work better with lots of things on the floor."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Alosaka says, "I like the maps."

Elidal says, "Ah, good, a tray for re...freshments."

Xorus says, "It is a credit to the author, that it leaves its readers indebted."

Elidal begins chuckling at Xorus!

Elidal says, "I see what you did."

Elidal nods at Xorus.

Elliathe exclaims, "Oh!"

Speaking to Xorus, Kiyna says, "Lylia recommended it to me."

Evia asks, "Really what is important is, where is Winston's office?"

Elidal glances at a large map.

Vaemyr says, "I would like to say the sugar cookies, I managed to reproduce a very special recipe, but feel free anyone to enjoy."

Elidal says, "You will need that updated soon enough."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Yes I even have the new baronry updated there."

Elidal points at a large map.

Cryheart says, "Aye."

Elidal squints at a large map.

Elidal says, "Ah, there it is."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Missoni says, "It is lovely."

Beckstabber says, "Wow."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr exclaims, "I used red too!"

Bellaja says, "Or a guess at it."

Vaemyr grins at Elidal.

Speaking to Kiyna, Lylia murmurs, "Thank you for making me look good."

Elidal asks, "The final office, shall we?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Cryheart.

Vaemyr says, "I'll need to get a new overlay though for it, once all the official borders a drawn."

[Moot Hall, Kayse's Office]

Ivy trickles over the top of an ecru-washed birch bookcase, its cluttered shelves illuminated by a broad bay window encapsulating a mint velvet bench. Terminating to meet a geometric coffered ceiling, a blush silk wall sits behind a glass-topped birch desk outfitted with a plush ivory chair. A duo of coral ceramic pots sprouting ferns flank a gilt-flecked leather couch while above a trellis-patterned sideboard and various shaped crystal vials holding trilliums decorate the wall. You also see an ivory-washed birch door.

Cryheart says, "More drinks."

Vaemyr says, "And this is Kayse's office."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara concedes, "You do win the refreshment war."

Elidal takes a drink from his cinnamon coffee.

Speaking to his Tehir spiced coffee, Alosaka muses, "Ah, the best of the empire."

Kiyna says, "I'm not sure where Kayse got off to. She might be here right now. Very quiet when she wants to be."

Kelfyr says, "A well-lubricated council is a patient council."

Saraphenia incredulously asks, "No cake??"

Beckstabber asks, "Is this that stuff that makes ya see things?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "For all we know she put a secret compartment in here."

Elidal says, "All well done."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Bellaja says, "I'm guessing they use going for cake as an excuse to leave the office."

Beckstabber says, "Nice of'er to give it out fer free if so."

Cryheart says, "A hidden panel."

Elidal nods.

Cryheart says, "Aye, nice."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna says, "I will be disappointed if there are less than three secret compartments in this room. At least."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Not annamore."

Cryheart says, "To each other's office."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "So yes we have official offices now."

Elidal asks, "Excellent, then it makes our business conducted even more official no?"

Elidal smiles.

Speaking to Cryheart, Bellaja says, "I'd have made one for a fast exit as well."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna asks, "That's the "office" in the word "official", is it not?"

Elidal asks, "Shall we step back out into the chamber?"

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr asks, "Would you like to state your news before we discuss what the councilors have talked about?"

[Moot Hall, Council Chamber]

A rich merlot carpet stretches from end to end of this large, spacious chamber, which is aglow from the moonlight shining in through several arched windows along an entire wall.

Elidal looks over at Vaemyr and shakes his head.

Counteroffer

Elidal says, "I would welcome heariing what was so heated, yet productive you say, this night."

Elidal walks over to the chair and settles down.

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr asks, "Shall I?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna says, "Go for it. You can start, at least."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "So, we have discussed the deal you proposed, and the councilors have come with something of a counter proposal that we feel should suit your needs and also help us address some additional concerns we had."

Elidal nods.

Elidal says, "A reasonable start. I'm listening."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "We would like to add in addition to the weapons deal proposed, that we receive assistence in sourcing materials to upgrade our palisades. We have no local quary and with the access you and your family have to riverboats, we thought that could provide a solution to sourcing those materials we are lacking."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "In exchange we are willing to accept a lesser percentage of the weapon deal as compensation."

Elidal asks, "What exact materials are you lacking?"

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "This of course is all in exchange for our assistence with escorting all the remaining caravans."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Quality stone and building materials for stone walls and other potential upgrades."

Elidal nods.

Bellaja suggests, "Maybe even some baystone."

Elidal says, "I had wondered, why you had not upgraded the palisade walls long ago. Especially after the War of Shadows."

Lylia says, "Someone did point out earlier that Gnul may provide us with a great deal of stone...but his price is rather high, considering those stones are lobbed through people's rooftops."

Vaemyr nods at Elidal.

Elidal begins chuckling at Bellaja!

Elidal says, "I do not own that market."

Elidal nods at Bellaja.

Alosaka says, "These wood walls have seen a lot."

Speaking to Elidal, Bellaja asks, "Yet?"

Speaking to Lylia, Missoni whispers aloud, "Perhaps if a big net were fashioned."

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna says, "Also, it is not just any stone that is suitable for constructing walls."

Nairena amusedly says, "We could just gather all the rock projectiles he launched at us."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "It has been a goal of the town for a while, but without a local quary or access to one, it is prohibitably expensive to import it seems."

Saraphenia asks, "What is it we're wanting to mine?"

Vaemyr says, "Ahh Kayse is here."

Kayse amusedly says, "I am here." [normally I leave out arrivals, but in this case it's too important]

Speaking to Saraphenia, Elliathe says, "Stone for new walls."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Kiyna says, "We have no local quarry to source raw stone from."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Beckstabber asks, "Nairena has a point, where's this Gnul getting 'is stone from?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Saraphenia asks, "Why can't we create one?"

Alosaka says, "The mountain, presumably."

Vaemyr says, "Beckstabb most illoke form stone from magic, it however crumbles soon after being used."

Speaking to Beckstabber, Perigourd says, "Thanatoph, one assumes. One of the mountains nearby of which are made of stone."

Kelfyr says, "I'd imagine he's tearing apart the Thanatoph for it."

Speaking to Beckstabber, Kiyna says, "Thanatoph would be an excellent site for a quarry, but veteran explorers and adventurers tread that area at great peril. Laborers and work crews are out of the question."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Kayse says, "Did you get the whiskey from the bottle? It was designed in honor of you."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Especially as projectiles."

Saraphenia asks, "Why send our silver somewhere else to get stone when we can use it here and use our own resources?"

Elidal says, "It is true. Between Vornavis, Jantalar, North and South Hendor, and Mestanir, none of your main imports are stone." [I think this is still in response to Vaemyr despite the myriad dialogue since then, so leaving his comment as the bolded one]

Vaemyr nods at Elidal.

Stormyrain says, "I look forward to enjoying it later."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Alosaka says, "It may be cheaper to find a market already producing the stone we need than to try and construct an entirely new quarry here."

Evia says, "We do have one major Stone, but he is very disagreeable unless wanting something."

Elidal smirks at Evia.

Tikba murmurs, "The hills near the Landing are iron-bearing. Such stone is soft."

Saraphenia asks, "I mean, am I making sense here or speaking gobbldegook?"

Kiyna says, "As amusing as it would be to make walls out of Gnul's hurled boulders, they are sure to be riddled with fractures and awfully uneven. We don't want useless, fragile walls."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Aye and very unsuited for walls or reinforced structures."

Speaking to Tikba, Saraphenia says, "Iron can be forged to make it stronger."

Elidal says, "Previously, I had committed to forty percent of weapon sales."

Bellaja slowly repeats, "Gob-ble... gook."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Alosaka says, "It is a reasonable question to ask, but in almost two centuries of habitation, you'll note we haven't mined out a quarry yet."

Xorus says, "The mountains here each tend to be residences of their own hostile populations."

Kelfyr says, "Stone, the masons to carve it, the engineers to direct the placement. It's more than just materials that would need importing."

Evia says, "To be simple about it, one would need skilled quarrymen and masons."

Elidal asks, "You mentioned reducing that number, but including stone and other building materials. What would your recommended percentage be then, of weapon sales?"

Speaking to Bellaja, Nairena asks, "Isnt that the name of the Krolvin language?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Saraphenia asks, "ANd wy not??"

Speaking to Nairena, Bellaja says, "Might as well be."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "30%."

Nairena says, "Had to get a krolvin joke in there."

Elidal ponders.

Bellaja whispers something to Nairena.

Tikba says, "Saraphenia is right to note that we could find stone locally, and so you should not imagine the price too high."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Alosaka says, "I would guess we lack skilled masons, laborers, roads able to support all that weight. I am not an expert on such things."

Speaking to a plump brown mouse, Nairena asks, "You want to sleep outside again?"

The brown mouse yawns widely, baring her tiny teeth briefly for all to see.

Nairena says, "Thats what I thought."

Speaking to Elidal, Bellaja asks, "So thirty percent?"

Speaking in Faendryl, Missoni confusedly asks something you don't understand.

Elidal ponders.

Saraphenia asks, "Geezie freaking peetz! I have lived in this town most of my life and nobody has ever come up with the idea of a quary until recently?"

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Saraphenia, Kiyna says, "We can source stone, but not stone fir for quality building materials, in large amounts. This is specific stone, mined carefully. You can't just use any old stone."

Speaking in Faendryl to Missoni, Xylador says something you don't understand.

Speaking evenly to Saraphenia, Alosaka says, "Perhaps there is a reason there is no such quarry."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Nairena says, "Late-bloomers."

Ulfwine says, "If it could have been done, safely done, I imagine it would have by now."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Beckstabber says, "The trolls seem to have figured it out."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Praps there's been other more immedyet things occupyin us."

Saraphenia frustratedly exclaims, "Okay okay, fine, geez, I get the hint, I'll shut up now!"

Speaking in Elven, Brakian quietly says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Saraphenia, Kiyna says, "I... don't want you to be quiet, I'm just explaining it's not quite that simple. I appreciate your input."

Elidal says, "I would agree to twenty five percent. But my original idea, was a contract for one year of sales. I would extend it to two years at twenty five percent. Guaranteed, mind you. We of course have the option to purchase higher amounts at times if needed. We will also aid in providing stone and supplies for future stonework projects, be it walls, or what you desire, and perhaps we can even help create a quarry near one of the new mountains we have claimed, when it becomes safer. All of this of course, in agreement with your heroes aide in protecting and escorting the caravans."

Speaking in Elven, Tikba mildly says something you don't understand.

Elidal says, "I understand, you may need to review and vote as a council, so I do not expect a decision this night."

Speaking to Elidal, Kayse says, "I appreciate your flexibility."

Kayse whispers something to Vaemyr.

Bellaja whispers something to Kiyna.

Speaking diplomatically to Elidal, Alosaka says, "I hope you will join us to ceremonially lay the cornerstone of our new walls."

Elidal nods at Alosaka.

Elidal says, "Stone walls. How imperial."

Elidal chuckles.

Elidal says, "I jest."

Speaking to Alosaka, Guarrin says, "A fine idea."

Speaking quietly to Elidal, Brakian says, "Indeed."

Tikba mildly says, "Perhaps a Landing councilor would lay the stone."

Tikba offers, "You could carry it."

Speaking evenly to Tikba, Alosaka says, "Stones are big. They require many hands."

Ulfwine says, "It woud be a great benefit to the town, walls of stone."

Kelfyr says, "They seem more necessary given the surfeit of stone raining upon the town since the caravans' arrival."

Speaking teasingly to Elidal, Kayse offers, "You can carve your name in one of the stones for a low price of one million silvers."

Saraphenia whispers aloud, "Buy the stone from the Empire to defend against the Empire...great idea."

Tikba says, "We could provide a wheelbarrow at a reasonable price."

Beckstabber says, "Stone doesn't burn like wood does, it's a whole new level o' class."

Elidal begins chuckling at Kayse!

[General] Mandrill thinks, "Casting Brills and Blurs in the Park 2 mins."

Xorus says, "What a coincidence, that is what the west gate cost."

Vaemyr says, "Alright then."

Nairena asks, "You could go east to the elven cities. Have you seen the walls of Illistim and Vaalor?"

Elidal says, "I should hope to have an updated list of caravans and dates when Commander Sablo arrives with the next one by week's end."

Speaking to Xorus, Beckstabber exclaims, "Waitaminute that whole gate was a million silvers?!"

In Other News

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr asks, "With that business concluded, I believe you also had some news for us?"

Nairena says, "Contract one of their stone masters."

Elidal says, "I did."

Elidal nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking quietly to Nairena, Brakian says, "Or hire a local dwarven artisan."

Speaking to Xorus, Beckstabber exclaims, "I got a milion silvers, can I get a gate built?!"

Elidal says, "I wished to save it for last, because I did not want it to alter any decision or influence you."

Brakian quietly says, "We have... several."

Raelee whispers something to Guarrin.

Nairena says, "That too."

Speaking to Elidal, Bellaja asks, "Will Sablo bring many troops with the caravan?"

Speaking to Nairena, Kiyna says, "In fairness, we are decidedly not a city, but a town. I think we're doing well enough for ourselves, given that."

Speaking to Brakian, Nairena says, "Good idea."

Elidal says, "Some, yes."

Elidal nods at Bellaja.

Xorus says, "Of course, a million silvers went further, back then."

Elidal says, "He has been recruiting some soldiers for several weeks."

Elidal nods at Bellaja.

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka says, "Cities blossom where towns take root. Give it time."

Speaking to Elidal, Ulfwine asks, ""If I may ask, M'Lord, how are things coming along in the encampment?"

Elidal says, "Well. People are settling in. We look to build some archery towers soon. More on that in the future."

Elidal nods at Ulfwine.

Vaemyr whispers something to Elidal.

Speaking to Elidal, Mourdeyan quietly says, "So largely untrained and untried troops, but troops nonethaless."

Speaking reticently to Elidal, Kayse says, "I look forward to our Marshal and the Gryphons speaking to Sablo regarding tactics on handling Gnul."

Speaking to Xorus, Beckstabber asks, "Ya think they'd build me a Beckstabber Gate for 10 million silvers?"

Speaking to Kayse, Perigourd says, "Hit him hard with a sword."

Tikba says, "Perhaps we may then take the fight to him."

Elidal says, "I sent word to the Commander, that we seek some sort of action and resolution."

Elidal nods at Kayse.

Speaking to Elidal, Bellaja says, "That is good to know. Earlier some people got everyone worked up about odd activity with the ship you brought to port and whatnot."

Speaking to Perigourd, Kiyna says, "Sounds like my kind of plan."

Speaking amusedly to Beckstabber, Leafiara says, "If that was all it took..."

Elidal says, "He has days to ponder it as he travels. I dispatched him several maps."

Elidal asks, "What ship did I bring to port?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Bellaja.

Speaking to Bellaja, Evia says, "Its always those whatnots that bring troubles."

Kayse whispers something to Stormyrain.

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "The Shiver has been in the bay for a week or two now."

Tikba vaguely says, "The Shiver is not Elidal's ship. Indeed, the captain claims not to know of him."

Speaking to Bellaja, Thrassus says, "That ship is not affiliated with the new barony."

Speaking to Elidal, Perigourd says, "Captained by Bodohal of the Bluewater Brigade."

Elidal says, "Ah yes, the Shiver. That is not mine."

Speaking to Leafiara, Beckstabber exclaims, "I'm gonna build my own gate! With pinochle! And ladies of companionship!"

Elidal says, "I am unfamiliar with her Captain."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "That is what I thought."

Bellaja says, "Oh.. I thought that the ship they were talking of was the one that brought the "caravan"."

Tikba says, "As are we all."

Elidal says, "I have heard of the Bluewater Brigade though. They could have their uses in the future."

Bellaja says, "That makes me feel much better."

Speaking to Bellaja, Missoni says, "The caravans have come through Danjirland."

Elidal says, "Perhaps I should meet this Captain soon."

Nairena asks, "Is he and his crew still here?"

Speaking to Nairena, Perigourd says, "To the best of my knowledge."

Elidal says, "I'll leave you this night with my news, before I retire to find some sleep."

Speaking to Elidal, Thrassus says, "Folk dressed as Brigade members assulted a militiaman."

Speaking to Nairena, Missoni says, "Yes. They seem to have roughed up a militiaman earlier."

Thrassus says, "Just so you are aware."

Elidal says, "Days ago, maybe weeks now?..."

Nairena says, "I figured they be gone after a week or two."

Elidal says, "You brought up a request to me."

Bellaja whispers something to Missoni.

Elidal says, "I did not wish to include it within our negotiations. It is an important thing, for Wehnimer's, for Darkstone, for our continued cooperation and growth."

Elidal says, "It is not something that should be used as leverage. For me, or for you."

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "I can't help but note you are driving up suspense."

Elidal says, "...but truthfully, it is also something I do not have the authority to declare."

Brakian quietly says, "Declarations are... interesting."

Mourdeyan quietly asks, "But ye can allude to it aye sir?"

Speaking wryly to Tikba, Kayse says, "I am not sure what suspense is worse. This or the town hall meeting earlier."

Elidal says, "However, I have penned a very persuasive letter to Earl Jovery, throwing my support behind further clarifications on the protectorate status of Wehnimer's Landing, with clear definitions and protections to sustain your independence and freedom, in the manner in how you govern and operate."

Evia says, "Ah."

Saraphenia asks, "What ARE we doing here, anyway?"

Speaking skeptically to Elidal, Kayse asks, "You did?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Outstandin."

Elidal says, "Mind you, it is words only. It is the Earl's decision."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "That... is very appreciated."

Brakian quietly says, "Protectorate."

Cryheart says, "It was snowing."

Vaemyr says, "But actions speak well for yourself."

Tikba smoothly says, "I am sure we would all like to see such a letter."

Alosaka says, "I know many people will be very pleased should such a declaration be forthcoming."

Saraphenia asks, "Wait, we have an Earl?"

Speaking dryly to Elidal, Lylia says, "The subject of a non-aggression pact was brought up earlier at the meeting. It is a pity you were not here."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "May of us, are quite sure of our status awreddy."

Tikba says, "As you say, I am sure it is very persuasive."

Saraphenia says, "I thought we had a mayor."

Irval says, "That is something the townsfolk could get around...Words might be enough, but worth more than you know."

Elidal says, "The Earl is not quick to make decisions such as these, so I almost hesitated telling you, but I thought it important to know."

Elidal says, "It is probably best I was not." [I think he means he wasn't hesitant]

Speaking to Saraphenia, Missoni says, "The Earl of Hendor, the Northern Sentinel, watches over the northern baronies, of which Darkstone would be part."

Speaking lightly to Lylia, Kayse says, "I have never said protectorate so many times in one evening."

Elidal nods at Lylia.

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "I think this goes a long way toward building trust nonetheless."

Speaking to Kayse, Lylia says, "Xorus and I shall formalize our non-aggression treaty for our fifth wedding anniversary, perhaps. Or tenth."

Elidal begins chuckling at Lylia!

Elidal says, "A non-aggression treaty in a marriage? Where is the fun."

Elidal smirks.

Xorus says, "The fine print is what kills you."

Speaking to Missoni, Saraphenia asks, "Darkstone Castle doesn't reside within the city walls, so why would the Earl's word mean a damned thing here?"

Elidal begins chuckling at Xorus!

Elidal says, "I would not know. I have never been married."

Speaking to Xorus, Yardie mutters, "More than the fine print."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Kiyna says, "We have been a protectorate for many years."

Elidal says, "I was close twice, but alas..."

Elidal says, "Love, she is evasive and sometimes life is cruel."

Tikba says, "Soon it will be your duty, I fear."

Speaking quietly to Elidal, Brakian says, "Indeed."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Praps someday soon, we can hope."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Alosaka says, "Darkstone Castle is named after the Bay. The one we're on."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Missoni says, "The new barony is named Darkstone. After the bay, I think."

Speaking to Elidal, Lylia says, "Ah, there is plenty of time still, surely, and you have so many other matters in mind."

Speaking to Kiyna, Dendum says, ""If you believe this empire can define your rights with a pen you submit entirely to the empire."

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "Slightly surprised you aren't engaged to Larsya."

Elidal begins chuckling at Vaemyr!

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "Are you anticipating the Earl to have ..."

Elidal shakes his head.

Guarrin casually glances at Vaemyr.

Elidal peers quizzically at Guarrin.

Elidal asks, "Have?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Dendum says, ""What it grants it can easily take away."

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin continues, "Additional requests."

Tikba mildly asks, "Do you happen to have copies of this letter?"

Speaking to Elidal, Guarrin says, "In response to your proposal."

Elidal shrugs at Guarrin.

Speaking to Dendum, Kiyna says, "If we use this logic, we should not trust anyone's agreement on anything."

Elidal says, "Truthfully, I am unsure."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I'm gonna get an egg in the face next time I see her aren't I."

Saraphenia asks, "So, what happens to all of US when the Empire comes in here with a declaration that the Landing is Forfeit to the Empire and we all current residents need to leave and give up our homes and shops??"

Elidal frowns at Saraphenia.

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Kiyna, Dendum says, ""Or you can trust agreements between those who view themselves as equals and not slave and master."

Sorlu's Stand

Elidal glances at Sorlu.

Speaking to Lylia, Leafiara comments, "I see what you mean."

Leafiara takes a bite of her salty popcorn.

Speaking simply to Saraphenia, Sorlu responds, "You move north."

Sorlu smiles at Elidal.

Elidal stands up.

With straightened posture and a firm chin, Sorlu presents himself to Elidal with a short, courteous bow.

Saraphenia exclaims, "None of you can tell me that ISN'T going to happen, can you!"

Elidal says, "Good night to you all. Until next time..."

Elidal turns around.

Elidal ponders.

Ulfwine says, "And no one can tell you that it is, either."

Sorlu smiles quietly to himself.

Elidal turns around.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Just b'cause we are in chambers, doesna mean we need to stage a re-enactment of the earlier meetin."

Elidal says, "Actually..."

Speaking to Elidal, Archious says, "I do not wish to interrupt your talks with the Councilors and residents, but if you have properly conferred with your advisors, we still have business, should you wish to discuss it."

Lylia notes, "None of us can promise we are not all going to be consumed in balefire and our ashes scattered into the bay by the howling winds of a newborn Bleakland, but it is unlikely to happen tonight."

Elidal says, "Hmm."

Elidal asks, "Sorlu was just here, was he not?"

Speaking to Elidal, Vaemyr says, "I appreciate your time tonight."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia asks, "Unless you have other plans, my darling?"

Speaking to Lylia, Alosaka teases, "Lylia, I demand you prove a negative, right now."

Leafiara says, "Councilor Sorlu of Icemule? Thought he was."

Elidal says, "Hugging shadows, a natural instinct for the Nalfein."

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Probably sir, lurkin about."

Speaking to Lylia, Evia says, "But you could do a little small balefire, a little tidying up one...."

Sorlu smirks at Yardie.

Speaking to Elidal, Kiyna says, "I'd prefer he weren't, but he was, yes."

Elidal grins at Sorlu.

Sorlu smiles at Kiyna.

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Ayup."

Sorlu winks at Elidal.

Elidal asks, "Councillor of Icemule Trace, yes?"

Elidal peers quizzically at Sorlu.

Speaking to Sorlu, Yardie says, "We really need to work on the stealth."

Speaking proudly to Elidal, Sorlu says, "Indeed. Of the Council of Five."

Sorlu nods at Elidal.

Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "The Bleaklands will eventually spread, we can be patient."

(OOC) Alosaka's player whispers to the group, "Is it just me or does Council of Five sound vaguely villainous?"

Mourdeyan quietly says, "Awww."

Sorlu glances appraisingly at Elidal.

(OOC) Perigourd's player whispers to the group, "It's a play on the council of ten."

(OOC) Vaemyr's player whispers to the group, "Haha, oh that is intensional."

(OOC) Missoni's player whispers to the group, "I think that's the intention :D."

(OOC) Bellaja's player whispers to the group, "He's trying to take it from the Counc of ten."

(OOC) Ulfwine's player whispers to the group, ""Yes, reminiscent of the Gang of Four."

Saraphenia frustratedly asks, "Not a single one of you can look me in the eye and tell me that my wife, myself and my young charge, Miss Emperia Quicksilver, will be safe! None of you can tell me that, can you??"

(OOC) Evia's player whispers to the group, "Its as high as they knew how to count?"

Sorlu airily says, "I'm quite happy to find my reputation has extended so far..."

Speaking to Emperia, Yardie mouths, "Young charge?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yoo be shafe, now shaddap and relax."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Kiyna says, "No, we can't. No one can tell you that. No one in this world."

Bellaja whispers to the group, "They wish to gain infamy by others using the name."

Elidal says, "Good. Well met. I will not forget you, and you do not forget me. I would strongly caution against meddling in the affairs of this town, and her good people, and the good work Darkstone and Wehnimer's Landing are trying to create together. I have it on good authority, you came trying to stoke flames where there was only smoke. You should be careful, and be ever wise, so that it does not become the Council of Four."

Elidal nods at Sorlu.

Speaking to Saraphenia, Nairena says, "Peace and security is never certain."

Xorus says, "Truthfully, having a friendly barony between us and our several neighbors, may well reduce our conflicts with rogue barons."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Alosaka says, "Safe? Saraphenia, it has been all of a week since a jumped-up Illoke chieftan attacked this town, breaching the walls and slaying dozens of defenders. Before that it was Krolvin. Before that it was the Blood Son. Before that it was a Lich. It is never safe here."

Speaking to Saraphenia, Missoni says, "I am not sure whose safety is ever guaranteed on the frontier."

Leafiara curiously asks, "Is that a threat to the Icemule council?"

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "Exactly so."

Sorlu grins slowly at Elidal.

Elidal says, "Goodnight."

Irval whispers to the group, "Gauntlet has been thrown."

Lord Elidal just went through a wide burnished oak archway.
