Synopsis

Juramis has an announcement outside the Merchant's Guild, where the militiaman Todd says Wehnimer's Landing will be hearing witnesses and levying charges against Captain Bodohal on the 28th, then going over his pleas on the 29th and holding an inquisition about the list of names that Samfelt gave Elidal from Bodohal's ship.

Todd says many in the Landing fled the Empire's harsh ways and inustice, and "we" believe the list may uproot nefarious parties Bodohal worked with--and it also contains names of victims he's plotted against, such as Magister Remuliad. He says people might be familiar with some of the names; people ask who and he eventually proceeds:

  • Du'lasfeur, marked with the word Cove, written in red with a black dot after it, then crossed out with double red lines. (Juramis questions why his family name is on the list.)
  • Cross, marked beside Fairport, written in indigo, then crossed out with double black lines.
  • Winter, marked beside Cove, written in indigo, then crossed out with double black lines. (Juramis interjects that Cross and Winter were the same man, who killed his father to take over the Iron Docks long ago.)
  • Rupport, marked beside Fairport, written in indigo with a black dot. (Todd suspects it has something to do with Remuliad.)
  • Svala, marked beside Tamzyrr, written in indigo. (Magister Raelee doesn't verbally react.)
  • Lugadvin, marked beside Tamzyrr, written in indigo.
  • A symbol of a red lily. No location noted.
  • Skinny Man, written in indigo. (Several people note that he's been killed by now.)
  • Wilhard, marked beside Solhaven, written in red with a black dot.
  • The Shrike, written in indigo. (People note that Praxopius' notes mentioned him and Amos reacted to the title.)
  • Fishley, marked beside Teras Isle, written in red.
  • Remuliad, written in red and circled in indigo.
  • An indigo skull at the bottom of the document.

People begin to speculate on possible interpretations of the colors, symbols, and names, then Todd says he'd like to move on Bodohal's thirty-one victims in the Landing. He says Bodohal must be held accountable and hopes the sentence in the upcoming trial is wise, then tells people it would be useful for witnesses to present at the trial.

After Todd returns to his watch at the tower, Juramis hopes everyone can pressure Bodohal to crack and give up more information.

Trial News

[General] Juramis thinks, "Good evening. I will be finished with my duties at the mine soon. I have an announcement to give, and will be meeting with anyone who wishes to hear the news outside of the Merchant's Guild."

[Leafi ignores this for several minutes before wondering whether it might be important, then eventually drops by invisibly, so we'll join a conversation in progress]

[Wehnimer's, West Ring Rd.]

The road passes beneath the shadow of the palisade. Before you sprawls a gaudily-painted structure, adorned with elaborate carvings depicting scenes of commerce and lit by polished brass lamps. This is the Merchant's Guild, where the business people of town, from wealthy traders to lowly street peddlers, meet to discuss matters of mutual concern. You also see the Oishian disk, a ruby-throated viridian hummingbird that is flying around, the Pukk disk, a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake sprouting pink firewitch flowers, the Blades disk, the Stormyrain disk, the Alosaka disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild black dog, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, a flame-eyed burnished ember fox, the silk-veiled Kayse disk painted with scarlet snapdragons, an erratic wasteland spirit that is flying around, the leaf-shrouded Kelfyr disk encircled by overlapping leaves, a grizzled porcupine, a yellow-eyed forest wolfhound, a huge orange cat, a seasoned half-elf militiaman and a two-story dark brick edifice.

Also here: Oishian, Pukk, Lord Thrassus, Stormyrain, The Notorious Blades, Missoni, Squire Alosaka, Preservationist Perigourd, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Magister Raelee, Town Councilor Kiyna, Tikba, Town Councilor Kayse, Kelfyr, Willow Guardian Lehon, Lord Juramis

Speaking in Aelotian to Oishian, Kayse greets something you don't understand.

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "On the 28th day, we will be hearing witnesses and levying charges against the incarcerated."

[upon realizing that it's not just some Consortium news, Leafi leaves to become visible, then returns; she hears in whispers that all she missed was what the person didn't know she actually did hear]

Tikba mildly says, "I will be glad to see justice done."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "The day after we will be going over his pleas, and holding an inquisition in regards to the list of names that Lord Elidal of Darkstone brought to us."

[General] Diablic thinks, "But fat bottom girls make the world go round."

Kiyna says, "Curious..."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Many of us in Wehnimer's Landing fled the Empire because of its harsh ways, and injustice. After studying the list, we believe it may lead to uprooting some of the more nefarious parties that Bodohal worked with along the coast, and even some inland."

Vaemyr says, "That's good to hear."

Kiyna agrees, "That is heartening."

Raelee whispers something to Thrassus.

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "We also believe it contains the names of some victims he has plotted against, and worked with conspirators toward some goal. The magister that was rescued is one example of a number of others who are also part of this plot."

[General] Abeer asks, "Sairai around?"

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Perigourd asks, "Any idea as to the eventual goal of this plot?"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "We hope that after charges are brought against Bodohal, he will be more forthcoming about the nature of his scheme."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "There were many involved."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Some will go to great lengths to save their own neck, when the time comes."

Alosaka says, "Well, our jails have space."

Juramis rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Tikba says, "We must hope."

Kayse says, "I would not guarantee that man will cooperate unless he has a deal."

Juramis nods in agreement.

Juramis huskily says, "Yes, he may wish some sort of deal."

Missoni cheerfully says, "Perhaps his time in the cell has changed his outlook."

Tikba mildly says, "No doubt."

Kayse notes, "Considering what it took to lure him off his ship."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Some of the names on this list include those you may be familiar with."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Kayse asks, "Like who?"

Thrassus says, "I had assumed such."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman asks, "That is an interesting question, isn't it?"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Not all of them are clearly names."

Alosaka says, "It's... an obvious question, I would say."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Some are just symbols, reminders."

Kayse wryly says, "My curiousity is piqued."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Vaemyr says, "Aye, I believe Elidal told us a couple were symbols or aliases."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "The list has been written in more than one type of ink, as well. There is some code to what it means."

Thrassus says, "Those are likely the more important ones."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Kiyna offers, "The names of seemingly random birds? That would fit my experience."

Juramis huskily asks, "Are you willing to discuss the nature of this list with us tonight, Todd? As a friend?"

Juramis grins wryly.

Kayse offers, "The Marshal IS here as well."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Yes. I would like to share that with officials of the town, for those of them who are gathered."

Stormyrain offers, "I'm just as curious and surprised by this as all of you are."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman asks, "Is this a good place to do that?"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman blushes a deep shade of red.

Blades says, "Found an official."

Blades glances at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain states, "Todd is familiar with me."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Vaemyr says, "Perhaps not the best place... but."

Tikba wryly says, "Many of the officials of the town are here."

Stormyrain says, "But mayhaps we need to have a conversation about...chain of command."

Thrassus says, "I don't see why not. It's not our secrets that are endangered."

Leafiara says, "Probably close to half."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Kiyna says, "Is it something you think shouldn't be made public? We could arrange a private meeting, but here is as good as anywhere if not."

The Bodohal List

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "The first name on the list is Du'lasfeur, marked with the word Cove. Written in red ink, with a black dot after it, then crossed out entirely with double red lines."

Juramis frowns.

Juramis coughs.

Tikba mildly says, "A name we are all familiar with."

Juramis huskily asks, "Why is my family name on that list?"

Juramis scoffs.

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "That is an excellent question, Lord Juramis."

Juramis grits his teeth.

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Moving on..."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman smirks.

Kayse airily says, "This is getting a bit more interesting."

Tikba politely says, "I am sure we will discover why in time."

Leafiara pragmatically asks, "On another note, did we ever learn who Elidal is using to shield the minds of the settlers? ...or if said person is a skilled mentalist?"

Speaking in Aelotian to Tikba, Kayse teases something you don't understand.

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "The next name is Cross, marked beside Fairport. Written in indigo ink, then crossed out with double black lines."

Thrassus says, "Well well."

Kayse evenly urges, "Keep going."

Thrassus asks, "Is that referring to who I think it is?"

Speaking to Thrassus, Vaemyr says, "Likely."

Juramis huskily asks, "The same Cross who killed my father?"

Juramis frowns.

Speaking to Juramis, Missoni muses, "Perhaps that is why both are crossed out."

Leafiara says, "Well, the pattern of--"

Leafiara agrees, "Yeah, that."

Vaemyr says, "We can perhaps distinguish a pattern after we've learned more."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Written directly under Cross is the name Winter, marked beside Cove. Also written in indigo, and crossed out with the same two black lines as Cross. We are still trying to connect those."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "This is where I feel like Raelee might say two is a small sample size, but nonetheless establishes a pattern."

Kiyna says, "Winter, huh..."

Stormyrain says, "Winter was Cross."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "An excessively small sample size."

Juramis throws his head back and opens his mouth into a gaping maw as he lets loose an earsplitting howl of rage.

Juramis pounds the Merchant's Guild with his fist, but nothing happens.

Stormyrain mutters, "My ears."

Juramis sighs.

Speaking to Juramis, Kiyna says, "...That information appears to mean something to you. Explain."

Juramis huskily says, "Cross and Winter were the same man. Yes. He killed my father to take over the Iron Docks, long ago."

Juramis huskily asks, "But how is that connected to Bodohal?"

Juramis frowns.

Speaking to Juramis, Vaemyr says, "We knew Bodohal's connections potentially ran deep... just not how far."

Missoni murmurs, "The same docks that were then burned."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Another name marked next to Fairport is Rupport. Written in indigo ink, with a black dot."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Kiyna asks, "This is the first name not crossed out?"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "We suspect this has something to do with the magister who was taken."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "There is no first names."

Leafiara says, "...she means the first of the names you've read so far not crossed out."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Perigourd says, "Possibly the Captain of the Lucky Cerulean Dawn."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "The next name on the list is interesting, because it goes much further south in Tamzyyr itself, where Bodohal says he originally left port."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "It is written in indigo, and only says Svala."

(Raelee's left eye twitches slightly.)

Raelee clenches her jaw.

A loud *POP* followed by a series of crackles comes from Raelee's direction.

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Also marked next to Tamzyyr is the name Lugadvin, written in indigo as well."

(Raelee folds her arms across her chest, simply standing in stony silence.)

Kiyna reasons, "...Todd did say they suspected some of the names on the list were victims. Jumping to conclusions would be hasty."

Missoni asks, "Lugadvin. Samfelt mentioned that name, once?"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman nods at Kiyna.

Vaemyr says, "The person whom was working to conscript people for Bodohal's ship."

Missoni says, "I believe he had something to do with Samfelt's imprisonment, but he would know more."

Vaemyr says, "Charge people with crimes in Tamzyr, and then instead of fighting in the arena to their deaths, give them a chance of "service"."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Some investigation into this would be helpful, to confirm any suspicions."

Leafiara says, "Right, that was the person working to drive people to the crew of the Shiver with... somewhat twisted offers, I suppose."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Next on the list is just a symbol of a red lily. We have no clue what this means."

Kiyna asks, "Red lily mean anything to anyone here?"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "I suspect Bodohal isn't drawing flowers in his spare time, so it likely has some significance."

Thrassus says, "Not offhand."

The orange cat pads around the area.

A seasoned half-elf militiaman nods at a fluffy white cat.

The white cat paws curiously at a huge orange cat.

Missoni muses, "A white lily is Aeia's symbol, but a red...I am not sure."

Kayse says, "I thought of Aeia too."

Kayse dismissively says, "The only time I saw red lilies was in the visions she sent me, but I doubt that's related."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "There isn't any note of a location next to this drawing either, making it even more interesting in the investigation."

Missoni asks, "Perhaps a ship name?"

Speaking to Kayse, Kiyna says, "Does it mean anything in flower language? Sort of doubt it would be that, but it couldn't hurt."

Vaemyr says, "I think I've seen some at some point... but it might of just been on someone clothes in passing..."

Perigourd says, "If it's in relation to Aeia, it may indicate River's Rest, but that would just be speculation."

Vaemyr says, "It could be a location as well."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Below the drawing are the words Skinny Man, in indigo ink."

Tikba says, "Ah."

Speaking to Kiyna, Kayse says, "Not anything that has necessarily been documented. Lily on its own has meaning."

Speaking to Missoni, Leafiara considers, "That sounds very plausible... if it were a symbol of an organization, I feel like someone would have identified it..."

Tikba says, "Him, we knew."

Missoni says, "Well, he ought to be crossed out."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Perigourd says, "That fellow has been killed."

Leafiara says, "The list was taken before then."

Leafiara adds, "But yes."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "That is deeply concerning."

Juramis adopts an agreeable expression.

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Following Skinny Man is Wilhard, marked next to Solhaven. Red ink, with a black dot."

Kiyna says, "...Now that one I do know..."

Thrassus asks, "That was the harbormaster, yes?"

Leafiara asks, "Was that the dockmaster?"

Tikba says, "He awaits us, in the Vornavis jails."

Missoni murmurs, "That does not bode well for his trial."

Vaemyr says, "Aye he's still in custody of Knights I believe."

Vaemyr says, "We knew about his name as well."

Tikba says, "His reaction when he heard of Bodohal's fate suggested he expected this."

Leafiara observes, "Bodohal's list seems to have dwindled significantly even before we've really looked into it..."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Another one we are highly unsure of is The Shrike. It is written in indigo, but there is no other information we have found about this person."

Thrassus asks, "Shrike?"

Perigourd says, "Hmm.."

Kayse muses, "Was wondering if that would be on the list."

Leafiara says, "That was some contact of Praxopius', if I recall."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman asks, "Yes, it is some sort of title perhaps?"

Kayse asks, "Was it not mentioned in the Alchemists' journal entry?"

Kiyna says, "Ask Amos. He seemed to know who that was."

Kiyna says, "He reacted strongly when the name was mentioned, anyway."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Good to know."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Following that name, the last two are both in red."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "One is Fishley. Marked next to Teras Isle."

Kiyna mutters, "Fishley..."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "The last is Remuliad, circled in indigo, but still written in red."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "And the bottom of the document is noted with an indigo skull."

Musings

Thrassus says, "Well, the Wraith took care of that loose end."

Vaemyr says, "Fishley might be whom was on Teras that helped lure Remuliad into the trap where he ended up on the Shiver."

Stormyrain says, "Fishley could also be a fisherman on Teras."

Stormyrain says, "Anything at this point is speculation."

Leafiara says, "The colors and symbols for Remuliad might provide the most clues since he's the one we can actually speak with."

Speaking to Thrassus, Kiyna asks, "Which loose end are you referring to?"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "I will also note that Bodohal's artistic talents are quite lacking. I've seen children draw better at the orphanage."

Juramis chuckles.

Kayse flatly comments, "Shocked."

Thrassus says, "Remuliad. He was killed by the Remnants."

Kayse says, "Remuliad is alive."

Speaking to Thrassus, Vaemyr asks, "No...?"

Thrassus asks, "Is he?"

Vaemyr says, "Yes..."

Kayse says, "Yes..."

Missoni says, "Rian was killed."

Leafiara says, "You're... thinking of the militiaman, maybe."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman nods.

Thrassus says, "I am mistaken then."

Tikba says, "He is the Magister who we rescued off the Shiver."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman sighs.

Kiyna says, "Just a misunderstanding, then."

Vaemyr says, "We just met with Remuliad a few weeks ago, doing research for the Reach."

Thrassus says, "I thought that was the very last fellow they killed."

Leafiara says, "Happens to us all."

Thrassus says, "Good to see I was wrong."

Kiyna says, "I wonder where Bodohal himself fits into this picture. I don't believe for a second he's the leader or brains behind whatever operations are going on here."

Juramis huskily says, "Knowing there is some connection between Bodohal and my father's death. He should be glad he is locked away in a cell right now."

Tikba says, "It is odd that he does not appear."

Speaking to Juramis, Missoni says, "I hope he meets justice for that and all of his many crimes."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "Well, this was his list, yes? I presume each of the conspirators has their own list."

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara says, "I don't find it odd... Maybe he appeared on the list of other... 'allies,' as it were."

Thrassus says, "If only we had a potent mentalist, then we could just rip the meaning from his mind."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "Perhaps the indigo skull is Bodohal's mark. Speculation, but that's my first thought."

Vaemyr says, "This is all subjecture, but from what we've seen, Red names seem like victims, or targets perhaps? We know Juramis's father was killed, Wilhard admited that he thought Bodohal would be coming after himself, we know Remuliad was captured."

Speaking to Thrassus, Raelee says, "Yes, and only that and nothing else."

Tikba politely says, "Thank you for giving us the contents of the list."

Kayse patiently says, "It is still all speculation."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "We also suspect it could be a mark they used to know their affiliation in certain circles. Perhaps not everyone who knew Bodohal, also knew one another."

Tikba says, "We must learn more."

Leafiara reasonably agrees, "That would make sense."

Vaemyr says, "Speculation, but there are patterns here."

Perigourd says, "Indeed."

Kiyna says, "We'll get to the bottom of it, yet. The list is a very necessary part of that."

Vaemyr says, "I think we have enough to at least give some hypothesis for investigations."

Future Justice

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Marshal. Now I would like to move on to the thirty-one victims of the town. This is the true crime that he has commited to our beloved town."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "I've said their names. I'd not like to do so again."

Stormyrain nods understandingly.

Stormyrain says, "Understandable, Todd."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "This is the real crime against Wehnimer's Landing. They were innocents."

Vaemyr says, "People, just trying to live their lives."

(Raelee starts slowly drifting backwards, away from the assembled crowd.)

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "Regardless of any list, or any circle of crime. Bodohal must be held accountable for what he has done to the Landing. When a sentence is asked for, I hope that the town officials choose wisely."

Stormyrain murmurs, "I think we all share that sentiment."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "That is all I have to report on the upcoming trial."

Juramis nods.

Stormyrain nods gratefully to the half-elf militiaman.

Leafiara asks, "Isn't there only one official making a choice in such a case, the Judge?"

Juramis huskily says, "Very well."

Thrassus says, "I would assume so."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Missoni says, "Thank you for sharing with us."

Thrassus says, "That's how the trial system here normally works, at least."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "I suppose so. I've never been arrested."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman blushes a deep shade of red.

Leafiara gazes in amusement at a seasoned half-elf militiaman.

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Vaemyr says, "I'm not sure what roll I'll have at the trial, but I support him being held accountable for his crimes. Also I thank you for all the hard work you've done in this investigation. Thank you Todd."

Juramis chuckles.

Speaking concernedly to Raelee, Kiyna asks, "Going somewhere, Magister?"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "If any of you were witness to the events, it would be useful to present at the trial."

Lehon says, "I hope the town council should be ble to state their case."

Tikba says, "I am sure many of us remember the events well."

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "Some parts are less forgettable than others."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "The investigation has taken awhile, and the process difficult to navigate considering Bodohal's status in the Empire. But given Lord Elidal's considerations and Earl Jovery's recent letter, he is in our hands now."

Kiyna agrees, "He is, at that."

Juramis nods approvingly.

Tikba firmly says, "And we will do what must be done."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman says, "I should get back to the tower. The sea gate doesn't guard itself."

Lehon says, "Be well sir."

Speaking to a seasoned half-elf militiaman, Perigourd says, "Fair eve."

Missoni gratefully says, "Fair eve, Todd."

Vaemyr says, "Thanks again."

A seasoned half-elf militiaman nods once and salutes.

Leafiara wishes, "Safe watching to you!"

A seasoned half-elf militiaman just went north.

(Raelee stares daggers at the militiaman as he departs.)

Blades says, "He'll probably be asleep in five minutes."

Juramis' Hopes

Juramis huskily says, "The names on that list are quite the mixed bag."

Tikba neutrally says, "Quite a collection, to be sure."

Leafiara simply says, "Indeed."

Speaking to Blades, Stormyrain says, "Likely."

Juramis huskily says, "Maybe enough pressure can be put on Bodohal to crack, and give up more information."

Vaemyr says, "The colors and markings seem to be the best clues right now, and figuring out potentially what the Red Lily might stand for."

Juramis huskily says, "But I am not certain any deal should be struck with him, given the horrible things he has done. It is difficult."

Juramis frowns.

Speaking politely to Juramis, Tikba agrees, "No."

Kiyna asks, "I agree, he probably wants a deal. We could offer to let him keep one limb of his choice?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "We should have Gutstorm do the interrogating."

Pukk says, "That will do it."

Leafiara says, "I still think we should inquire if Elidal has a mentalist somewhere in that camp who'd be willing to help get reliable information out of Bodohal. Answer might be no, but..."

Speaking to Juramis, Vaemyr says, "We'll see... we also have a duty to our citizens and town to ensure that Bodohal see's justice done. A deal will be... hard with thirty one innocents killed."

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara says, "Okay, you know what, that's an even better idea."

Juramis nods in agreement at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Leafiara, Kayse says, "Use Kharusa, she can blow up his head while we're at it."

Tikba says, "There are many ways for us to decipher the letter. There is only one way for Bodohal to face justice."

Kiyna glances sharply at Kayse.

Speaking amiably to Kayse, Leafiara says, "I'd be all for it."

Speaking to Kiyna, Kayse says, "That look isn't needed, it's true."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara relents, "But... it is up to her."

Speaking in Aelotian, Oishian asks something you don't understand.

Stormyrain offers, "Now that we have that information, if you will all excuse me?"

Speaking huskily to Stormyrain, Juramis asks, "Is the militia willing to use more... persuasive methods if needed?"

Speaking in Aelotian to Oishian, Kayse says something you don't understand.

The Notorious Blades's group just went south. [And with him went Stormyrain.]

Juramis twiddles his thumbs.

Thrassus says, "I would say there are regulations about that."

Juramis grins.

Leafiara says, "Well, maybe she can answer another night or you can write to her."

Juramis huskily says, "One can hope."

Leafiara asks, "Either way, though, isn't it really the Judge's call?"

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "We are not in charge of punishment, Juramis. That would be the city guard, I do believe."

Speaking to Juramis, Vaemyr says, "Just borrow Amos's shackles to ask the questions."

Juramis raises an eyebrow.

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "I would bring it up with the Mayor, to see how she would like this handled, and the Town Council."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna says, "Absolutely not."

Juramis glances at Raelee.

Leafiara curiously says, "Oh, and now Stormy is saying the Steward of the Guard... I suppose because Bodohal's imprisoned."

Juramis nods.

[General] Nalver thinks, "Juramis!? Where ya been hiding. I got your signs."

Juramis huskily says, "I am sure we will learn more soon. The trial is a few weeks away."

Juramis bows.

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "Better than forcing a person to do basically the same thing."

Juramis huskily says, "Come along Mongo. We need to get you a snack, and you can visit your friends at Filanci's shop."

Lord Juramis just trudged away moving south.

Tikba mildly says, "I must pray. I will remember Bodohal in my prayers."

Kayse says, "Not sure he needs to eat more."

The orange cat pads off.

Discussion Afterward

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Expect for the part where use of Amos' shackles would probably incur some significant cost so he could profit."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna says, "Manipulating someone's will with magic is vile. If I so much as see those shackles again, I will destroy them. Or try."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr exclaims, "That was why Juramis needs to request and pay that price, not us!"

Leafiara muses, "I guess Juramis would have enough motive to find out if anything more could be learned about his father..."

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "I mean, that happens more often than I'd like, the Reiver Sympaths do similiar magic, it's just not in an item. And mentalists in general have potential to do the same with enough training and strength."

Oishian muses, "What a long plot this looks like."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna says, "And they shouldn't. And the sympaths are just as-"

Speaking to Oishian, Leafiara says, "Give it nine years and we'll know half of what's going on here."

Oishian says, "I mean, Cross is dead for close to ten years." [irony is they were speaking at just about the same time]

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "It is interesting to see that both Cross and Winter were on that list."

Kiyna asks, "Did the writers of the list not know they were the same person? Were they -not- the same person?"

Leafiara speculates, "Possible they keep secrets within their own ranks too. I mean, that certainly happens."

Raelee says, "It is known now that they were the same man."

Vaemyr says, "Pretty sure they were, but they could of had this organization fooled. He had plenty of other fooled in various ways too."

Raelee says, "... we do not know when the list was originally composed."

Vaemyr says, "Well it seems like it's been getting added to."

Vaemyr says, "Or it's been rewritten potentially from another list, hard to say."

Kiyna says, "I don't know if I will have any role at trial. I was not witness to any of Bodohal's crimes. Other than being criminally drunk, but that was partly my fault."

Pukk exclaims, "She admits it!"

Pukk exclaims, "Get her!"

Vaemyr says, "The red names though all have seemed to be targets, Indigo... much harder to know. My best guess is indigo is Bodohal's color, and thus they might be contacts or associates he knew? The Remuliad name, being in red and circled in indigo for example. Could be that he had captured him."

Leafiara says, "He shot cannonballs at me, but to be fair, I was trying to board his ship. All I could really do is mention seeing ships shot down, but plenty of others could give testimony on that."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr asks, "I'm sure you are a bit concerned about your family name being on the list. Any potential ideas?"

Vaemyr says, "I was there when he destroyed the fishing ships, each time. Even dove into the bay trying to look for or find survivers."

Raelee glances at Vaemyr.

Speaking optimistically to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "On the bright side, it's not crossed out, so Octaven probably never came up with a better plot than the Vlashandra one."

Raelee glances at Leafiara.

Leafiara glances upward and whistles quietly, an innocent look on her face.

Raelee clenches her jaw.

Kiyna says, "...The atmosphere here is getting a bit tense, so I'm going to make myself scarce now. Perhaps visit Kharusa."

Speaking slowly to Vaemyr, Raelee asks, "... concerned?"

Speaking slowly to Vaemyr, Raelee asks, "Do you know what... concerns... me, Vaemyr?"

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara whispers aloud, "Maybe Kiyna had the right idea..."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "I do not, we have rarely talked I release outside of magical interests."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "If you say that outloud then she's going to gloat and get a big head over it."

Speaking reprovingly to Pukk, Leafiara whispers aloud, "I was only saying it out quiet."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Oh okay."

Speaking slowly to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "... it is seeing the affairs of me and mine handled by the populace of Wehnimer's Landing."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I don't know if it was just me but I think Raelee is starting to like us."

Oishian says, "What I've gotten in connections tonight is that I understand enough of the history I've read to recognize and remember names of dead people who won't be on trial."

Oishian says, "History in this place is so confusing."

Speaking to Oishian, Leafiara says, "Always."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "That is understandable, the town is... not subtle, and most things we do end up a farily ugly process. But I would say it was potentially inevidable if folks are around here long enough."

Speaking to Oishian, Pukk says, "It's easier to just not remember any names. Things are much more interesting then."

Speaking to Leafiara, Oishian exclaims, "That, from a former mayor!"

[General] Sythaeryn thinks, "Spiders in town."

Speaking cheekily to Oishian, Leafiara says, "I mean, there's a reason you don't see me running for anything anymore."

Leafiara adds, "...well, several reasons. Multiple reasons. Many reasons."

Leafiara muses, "Countless reasons?"

Leafiara relents, "Maybe not quite countless."

Speaking to Leafiara, Oishian says, "I'm not sure understanding them would help, at this point, but I did memorize the mayors of recent years."

Pukk says, "Paper Owly says it is time to go to sleep."

With a wince, Raelee slowly massages her temple.

Pukk just went south.

The air suddenly cools noticeably.

[General] Pukk asks, "Spiders in town?"

Leafiara optimistically says, "Well, on the bri--"

[General] Pukk asks, "Where?"

Leafiara says, "Hmm..."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Anyways, I'm sorry that you have to deal with this, but I at least will do what I can to investigate in a logical and fair manner."

[General] Leafiara asks, "Did... anyone else feel a sudden chill around the Landing?"

Vaemyr asks, "Spiders?"

Leafiara surreptitiously says, "One moment..."

[Leafi goes to look for spiders or the source of the chill, but there's nothing]

You also see a yellow-eyed forest wolfhound, a fluffy white cat that is sitting, the Oishian disk and a two-story dark brick edifice.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Willow Guardian Lehon, Oishian, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Magister Raelee

Leafiara says, "Nope, not seeing anything."

[General] Lwyllian thinks, "There were quite a few large hairy ones east of TS in WL."

[Leafi goes to look again, but nothing]

[General] Pukk thinks, "Nothing on south ring road or north ring road."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Nothing in Shanty either."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "I don't see anything either. I did feel a sudden chill, though, but maybe it was just my imagination."

Leafiara says, "Nope, don't see any spiders."

Kiyna says, "I haven't seen any spiders, either."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "The authority this town has to do *anything* about this beyond what the lot of you do with the man himself is thin."

[General] Azallin thinks, "I felt a big chill too, but maybe it's because I'm on the Glatoph."

Speaking slowly to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "And this town is so quick to cry foul should the Empire meddle in its affairs, even benignly so."

[General] Pukk thinks, "If you drank anything out of Helga's it might be that."

Speaking to Raelee, Kiyna admits, "Don't appreciate meddling, no."

Leafiara says, "For what it's worth, I don't want to intervene against any of the people on Bodohal's list. That would bring their associates here in retaliation. The Empire can handle its own issues."

Speaking slowly to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "So what is 'fair' about the lot of you meddling in mine? I might argue that the very fact that you are investigating this defies the concept of 'fair'."

[General] Pukk thinks, "I think it was somebody crying spiders again."

Leafiara considers, "The Magister does raise a good point, though. Maybe it's gone too far already by investigating..."

Leafiara asks, "...why did Elidal put Bodohal in our prisons, again?"

Oishian asks, "Does he have too many connections to be reliably imprisoned in the Empire?"

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Investigating, because it's a mystery, because there was a reason Bodohal came here in the first place, and it wasn't because of Tolmis. And if anyone else on that list is a threat to citizens in our town, then I would like to know. If they aren't? Then it won't matter, and others can deal with them."

Speaking to Oishian, Leafiara says, "I mean, even if so, I've virtually never seen anyone reliably imprisoned here either."

Leafiara says, "To be honest, I'm half shocked Bodohal hasn't already gotten out."

Oishian says, "That's not quite reassuring."

Speaking cheekily to Oishian, Leafiara says, "I mean... it's reassuring when you're on trial."

Oishian says, "I would guess so."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "Tyrrax was reliably imprisoned. Not without incident, but it worked out."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara asks, "For what, though, a week?"

[General] Kataric thinks, "Should've gone with, go pukk yourself in tight for bed."

Leafiara says, "I meant more long-term, we've had... a dubious track record."

Oishian says, "But I've read that Grisham Stone was imprisoned here."

Oishian says, "That sounds impressive."

Speaking to Oishian, Kiyna says, "He's not anymore, which should tell you something."

Leafiara says, "He wasn't as powerful then as he is now."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara says, "And that too."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "The name could of been my own on that list, or Kiyna's I'd of still looked into things. Because it's better to be proactive than reactive. Many would prefer to wait till after they are sure there is a threat, and then people end up dead first, when we might of had a chance to prevent it. Until we know what the heck Bodohal was doing in these waters in the first place, then any information is important."

Vaemyr says, "Not to say I also don't enjoy a good puzzle, I can't say it's not fun to try and solve the code for what various things might mean, but generally, the names on that list matter pretty little to me."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Oishian says, "I feel better and worse to hear you say that."

Speaking to Oishian, Leafiara says, "Malluch was imprisoned here, then a month or two later someone broke in with blood magic and broke his mind. Then, despite being in a state of babbling and drooling, Murdos somehow managed to get the guards to bring Malluch to Grishom Stone to heal and restore him. So, you know, one high profile prisoner compromised twice with different motives in a year."

Speaking slowly to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "... oh, it is important. All information is... important."

Raelee continues, "But what we may do with it can vary greatly."

Leafiara adds, "And that's just one example. I could name others."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "... but eliminating threats to this town is not my interest, nor my responsibility."

Speaking to Leafiara, Oishian says, "I only thought of Stone because I recently read about the conflict with him and Cross, and how that spread into some huge violent events. Cross was the only name I immediately recognized, tonight."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "And that is why you are a magister of the hall and I'm currently a Town Councilor of Wehnimer's Landing."

Leafiara says, "I'm not even sure they're threats to this town in the first place. I'd be perfectly happy to leave all this to Elidal and have it be his problem."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "... likewise."

[General] Lwyllian thinks, "Spiders on Talon st."

[Locate on Lwyllian, but still nothing]

[Kilron's Pawnshop, Front Room]

This little pawnshop is somewhat cheerier than you would expect, presided over by its well-dressed and well-heeled owner, Kilron. A polished white marble counter is set off by freshly whitewashed walls and a highly varnished wood floor. An antique cabinet on the far wall holds several impressive and equally ancient weapons, some precious trinkets, and several items that you cannot identify, except that they seem to glow in different shades of colored light with different intensities. You also see the Kethrylia disk, an oak door, a slatted wooden case and a sturdy wooden table.

Also here: Lady Kethrylia, Great Lord Lwyllian

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "If what the one informant said about them being interested in Darkstone... well that was concerning. But yes if this is only about imperial corruption? It's Elidal's problem."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "Wait, what informant?"

Vaemyr says, "Juramis's informant."

Leafiara asks, "Interested in Darkstone the castle?"

Vaemyr says, "Don't remember his name, gruffy fellow."

Leafiara asks, "Isn't that still Elidal's problem since he's claiming that territory?"

Vaemyr says, "That Bodohal was here originally to get something or bring something to Darkstone."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "You and I both know, if something goes wrong in Darkstone it'll end up our problem."

Kiyna slowly counters, "Sam... Sar..."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna says, "Sredor, that was it."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Sure, but we don't have to make it more directly so."

Vaemyr says, "I kinda differ on that opinion, in the same way I sure as heck wish I knew what the red beams shooting off from Glatoph into the bay were."

Raelee curtly says, "Good evening."

Raelee's hands fade to complete transparency as she intones a spell...

Raelee gestures.

Raelee suddenly disappears.

Leafiara tilts her head at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "You haven't seen those? Like a bunch of them, now."

Leafiara says, "Yeah, I know, but..."

Leafiara confusedly asks, "What does that have to do with Darkstone?"

Leafiara adds, "...the castle *or* the barony."

Kiyna says, "Maybe nothing? Maybe a lot."

Leafiara says, "The Glatoph is pretty far from the castle, but I guess I can't write off connections to the barony."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Wild speculation, but it was more where they are landing, if say, they took something and it was on the shiver when it sank, and now at the bottom of the bay..."

[General] Farseeker asks, "What kind of spiders?"

[General] Lwyllian thinks, "They just looked big and hairy."

Vaemyr says, "Unfortunately, nothing on that list seems like it would really help figuring out their purpose, Remuliad mentioned Bodohal wanting to craft a powerful weapon."

Vaemyr says, "So that's basically the little evidence I have that they were trying to get something for that."

Vaemyr says, "Anyways, it's getting late, sorry that Raelee is upset, but is what it is."

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "Still say we should steal Amos's shackles, use them on Bodohal and then let you destroy them."

Leafiara says, "I do suppose I should go take care of some things."
