Illusion prop

An illusion prop is an item that triggers a number of magical effects (elemental magic, for instance) that surround a character (e.g. a vortex of scarlet flames) when the item is worn. The effect becomes part of the description when the character is LOOKed at, appearing in one of two possible locations. The illusion can appear below features, Teras ash (if applicable), or tattoos/piercings (if applicable), and above the injuries section. A second illusion variant can appear as a separate line below the entire inventory. It is possible to wear two illusion props at the same time as long as they each display illusions in different locations. There is no mechanical benefit provided by an illusion prop's magical effect; it is for aesthetic purposes only. Illusion props premiered in 2017 as prizes found in the magical cubes at Summit Academy. Redeemable elemental certificates were used for custom props, and other items were used for pre-made props. Eventually, illusion props became available at Duskruin Arena in the Bloodriven Village shop, Be Warez. In February 2023, a new secondary version was introduced that included the Spell Prep Prop. This item is a subscript of the illusion prop and allows for the inclusion of special spell prep messaging based on spell circle. Illusion Prop This item includes the illusion prop without the Spell Prep Prop Analyze You analyze your silver-edged relic and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions. The creator has also provided the following information: The silver-edged relic is an Illusion Prop that will project minor illusions around you when worn. It is set to: Adds "Tiny mist-winged butterflies flutter about her form in a showcase of vibrant colors." before the appearance of your health. You get the distinct impression that the silver-edged relic itself may freely be altered by almost any merchant, but not the illusions that it creates. You get no sense of whether or not the relic may be further lightened. Usage Verb First Third REMOVE You delicately remove {item}, and {a vortex of scarlet flames} coiling around you disappears. Person delicately removes {item), and {a vortex of scarlet flames} coiling around him/her disappears. WEAR You carefully {put item on body part}, and {wisps of scarlet flames} begin to coil around you. As Person {puts item on body part}, {wisps of scarlet flames} begin to coil around him/her. Illusion Prop with Spell Prep Prop This item is an illusion prop that includes additional spell prep messaging. Spell Prep Prop is a subscript of the original Illusion prop. Analyze You take a closer look at a lariat necklace suspending a tiny perforated bronze censer. You analyze the lariat necklace and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions. The creator has also provided the following information: The lariat necklace is an Illusion Prop that will project minor illusions around you when worn. It is set to: Adds "Tendrils of curling perfumed smoke wander across her body, spilling forth through the perforated censer suspended from her lariat necklace." before the appearance of your health. The lariat necklace can be hidden or revealed when covered. You get the distinct impression that the lariat necklace itself may freely be altered by almost any merchant, but not the illusions that it creates. ************************* Spell Prep Prop ************************* The lariat necklace holds the Spell Prep Prop script/subscript. The lariat necklace can have its description altered freely unless a parent script prevents it. ******************************************************************* This lariat necklace allows you to cast spells from the Minor Elemental Spell Circle with the following messaging: First person: Your fingers traverse down the chain of your necklace, stopping midway as the perfumed smoke spilling from the censer engulfs you, obscuring your view. You utter a single command, causing the curtain of haze to dissipate, the [Spell Name] spell yours to control. Third person: XXX's fingers traverse down the chain of her necklace, the perfumed tendrils of smoke constricting across her body, engufling her. XXX's voice utters a single command, causing the haze to dissipate as her silhouette emerges from the curtain. Third (hidden): A single command is uttered from the shadows. You get no sense of whether or not the necklace may be further lightened. Additional Information Custom Illusion Prop A custom illusion prop is a rare, delayed service that must be approved by QC. Event specifics, the offering GM, and any number of other variables, will determine whether only some or all of the messaging (wear message, remove message, and LOOK description) can be customized. Some releases may have more restrictions than others, and there is no guarantee that all of these options will be available for a single customization.
