Force Orb allows the caster to summon a translucent orb of force that attacks a target. If the target fails to ward the mental attack, he or she will take some light concussion damage and sustain a crush injury.

Training in Mental Lore, Manipulation increases the concussion damage of this attack.

Damage Formula

Force Orb has 8 base damage plus 1 additional hitpoint per each 20 warding margin (endroll - 100). A successful cast will also inflict a crush critical injury with critical damage. Training in Mental Lore, Manipulation provides an additional damage bonus but the exact formula is currently not known. However, the first extra damage point occurs with 2 lore ranks. It is possible that lore damage is based on seed 2 of the summation chart but that is just speculative.

8 base damage + [(endroll - 100)/ 20) + Crush Critical + lore bonus = total damage

Calculation Example

Total damage from the above messaging

  • Endroll: 334
  • Warding Margin: 224 (334 - 100)
  • Crush Critical Damage: 15
8 base damage + [trunc(224 / 20)] + 15 critical damage + 0 lore bonus damage
8 + 11 + 15 = 34 total damage
