Information

Earl Eddric Jovery is the Earl of North Hendor and was the Northern Sentinel of the Turamzzyrian Empire for twenty years. He still presides over Hendor as the Earl. But as the Northern Sentinel he was the overlord and lord protector of the northern imperial provinces of North Hendor, South Hendor, Jantalar, Mestanir, Talador, Riverwood, Seareach, and Vornavis. Talador was reduced to a protectorate of North Hendor in 5115 Modern Era, and was ruled by Hendoran nobles until they were massacred by Blameless crusaders.

Repulsed Krolvin overtures during Sankir's flight from River's Rest and Teras Isle for refuge in 5103 after recently ascending to the position of Northern Sentinel. The Northern Sentinel had been left vacant for a decade under Empress Mynal'lyanna after the death of its previous holder Earl Kurdin Weirlund V. The wars of Baron Lerep Hochstib were used as a loophole in the Rysus Codex that allowed leaving the Sentinel position vacant during conditions of war.

Hendor sent forces under the Earl's orders to Wehnimer's Landing during the War of Nations in 5103 when Jantalar had taken the city. Their forces helped to reclaim the city and restore it to it's people. Afterwards they withdrew giving the city its autonomy as a Protectorate of the Empire.

Earl Jovery has consistently been a longstanding ally of Wehnimer's Landing and has even knighted several adventurers in the area of Wehnimer's Landing and Vornavis. He has also been an opponent of Chaston's Edict, never really enforcing the anti-human laws and regulations in the northern provinces, especially throughout Hendor.

In 5111, Interim Mayor Barnom Slim had Sir Brinn and Sir Cryheart executed. They were restored to life, but Earl Jovery informed Slim that if the knights were being persecuted he'd dispatch Hendorian Soldiers in two weeks time. Slim would threaten the Drakes Vanguard, Black Wolves before he later fled to Icemule.

In 5115, Earl Jovery commanded Sir Thadston Andrews to open the Hendoran Outpost near Wehnimer's Landing to keep watchful observations, and possible involvement in the area, after the heavy losses and chaos of the War of Shadows and the history of dark magic in this region.

In 5116 there was fabricated evidence via Prelate Chaston Griffin that falsely accused Earl Jovery of sending secret letters to Sir Thadston to interfere with the wood trade between Wehnimer's Landing and the Barony of Bourth. This was allegedly part of a conspiracy to break from the Turamzzyrian Empire, forming a New Kingdom of Hendor and annexing Bourth, which would denounce Chaston's edict and become a haven for non-humans and bad religions. He was kidnapped in an invasion of Lolle by Chaston Griffin and the witch, Raznel during Eyes of the Dawn. Chaston Griffin declared himself the Northern Sentinel, but was refuted by Emperor Aurmont, who reaffirmed it was Earl Jovery. Chaston Griffin in turn declared Emperor Aurmont as the "chief heretic", and intended to annihilate Tamzyrr, but instead destroyed Talador resulting in the Bleaklands. Jovery was rescued from Talador by the Order of the Silver Gryphon in the winter of 5116. Since he has returned to North Hendor to recover. Rumors have persisted since he has in bad health.

Shortly before the Emperors announcement regarding Chaston's Edict and the Valley of Gold gathering between the East and West in 5119, Earl Jovery was in Tamzyrr along with Baron Dunrith Malwind of Vornavis and the Southern Sentinel, Bannon Chandrennin and his daughter, Kasendra.

Following the disappearance of former Grand Magister Pylasar, who had been the Regional Envoy of Wehnimer's Landing, Earl Jovery declared that he would appoint the replacement and ordered the Hall of Mages to send a Magister. This ended up being Magister Cordarius Hodges. The Regional Envoy of the Landing as at that time a voting member of the town council of Wehnimer's Landing, which by the laws of the Landing was to be appointed by the Mayor. This occurred in the context of recent years where Wehnimer's Landing engaged on its own with diplomacy with House Vaalor, which had implicitly denied the Landing as a protectorate of Tamzyrr by demanding the Landing "return" the Elven village near the Red Forest. As well as Wehnimer's Landing having coordinated on its own with Estorian lords of Idolone to engage in naval action against Glaoveln. Earl Jovery viewed this as wishing to be closer and more involved.

Jovery later removed Cordarius as Regional Envoy when he felt insulted by the town council of Wehnimer's Landing asking him to specify a list of explicit definitions of the protectorate while trying to have it rescinded. This was in the context of Earl Jovery having chosen Elidal Dhenin to become the Baron of Darkstone, a recently announced new Barony, with the Emperor having agreed to annex lands between Vornavis and Wehnimer's Landing.

Earl Jovery had for years attempted to convince Mayor Thadston, who had turned in his spurs, to return home to take some higher position. Thadston had ignored multiple attempts in letters to visit, but acquiesced in the fall of 5122. When Thadston lost the mayor election in 5123, he moved back to Hendor. In late 5123 the Emperor Aurmont announced that Sir Thadston "McAndrews" was the new Northern Sentinel under the recommendation of Earl Jovery.
