Lissaya Vaillancourt is an elf originally from Ta'Loenthra, now residing in Ta'Illistim. The only child of Mireille Vaillancourt (and an unknown Nalfein gentleman), she was born on Eoantos 27, 4938. She is an amateur herbologist with an interest in phytotoxicology, a middling artist and musician, and the captain of the Witty Lavender Revenge.

Background

After the death of Lissaya's mother in 4948, she was raised by her grandparents, Barthelemy and Armantine. Under their strict, controlling parenting, she had a very lonely childhood. Barred from leaving the family’s canal house, the highlight of her days was watching the ilaveun float to and fro past her bedroom window. Nose pressed against the glass, she would dream of the day she could escape her grandparents and their plans for her future.
In anticipation of an arranged marriage with the son of one of her grandfather’s Ardenai business partners, Lissaya was sent to Lienselan Academy in Sisailrend during the summer of 5116. After a month of careful planning, she fled the school for Ta'Vaalor in the hopes that she would blend in with the populous. It was there she met Aendir Silithyr, who would become her mentor in the art of sorcery. He also introduced her to her current social circle. Among these like-minded elves she became a founding member of the Ilyan Syndicate, to which she belongs to this day.
In late 5118, she was located by her grandfather’s associates and unwillingly hauled back to Ta’Loenthra, where she remained until escaping her grandparents again in the spring of 5122.
After her grandfather’s death due to an unfortunate accident in Phoenatos 5122 (his body was sadly never recovered), Lissaya came to an arrangement with her grandmother. There would be no more talk of arranged marriages. Her grandmother would handle Vaillancourt Ventures, the family import and paintbrush making business, for the foreseeable future. As a bonus, Lissaya would receive a hefty monthly stipend. With these funds, she purchased Sanguine Dreams in Ta’Illistim... and left what remains of her family and her responsibilities behind.

Appearance

You see Lissaya Vaillancourt Loenthra.
She appears to be an Elf.
She is average height and has a slender build. She appears to be in the bloom of youth. She has dark-lashed, wide larkspur blue eyes and exceedingly fair skin. She has mid back-length, languidly waved vanilla blonde hair tucked behind her gently tapered ears with a few sinuous tendrils swept forward to fall along her jawline. Dainty but sharp fae-like features dominate her face.
She has a trio of twisted silver rings in her left eyebrow, and an intricate blackwork tattoo blossoming down her left arm.

an intricate blackwork tattoo: Inked from shoulder to wrist and extending over Lissaya's hand is a crowded design of floral blackwork, the blooms formed of myriad tiny dots and crosshatched lines. From petite calamintha and wild heather to graceful orchid and dainty pansy, the entire tattooed arrangement shelters a repeated motif of diminutive wood violets. Shaded directly over the center of her left palm is a star-shaped nightshade blossom, the five distinctive petals contorted to spread toward the base of each slender digit.

Crest

A circle of dark amethyst is encompassed by a gold unified frame. Upon the field, a delicate line of Elven script divides the upper image of a silver harp from the lower of a twisted chain of white wood violets. A quartet of ribbon-twined paintbrushes forms the flourish and the piece is flanked left with an open ivory tome overlaid with an azure estoile. The right flank features a repeated flourish of paintbrushes.
In the Elven language, it reads:
Intellectual improvements arise from leisure.
