Synopsis

Green snow begins to fall on Wehnimer's Landing; preceding green light appearing along the surface of Lake Eonak. Adventurers go to investigate, but instead the light moves toward the forest, forming into columns that create muscular shapes. Growls echo through the woods...

...and soon battle begins against green trolls! Rooks take to the rooftops to give covering fire on the streets, Imperial soldiers at the outpost fire on the trolls passing through the grasslands, and Darkstonian soldiers defend the area around the camp.

Eventually, the town square is compromised and shrieks emit from Melgorehn's Reach--more green energy forms into griffins! As everyone battles those, siege towers appear behind a wall of flickering light and people speculate on the similarities to Gnul's tactics with griffins and siege towers. Ballistas appear along with the towers, then a bulking troll with a black-bladed axe perches atop a siege tower--it's Drangell!

However, before Drangell's attack can fully commence, the trolls behind the veil cease moving. Rodnay's telepathic voice tells the beings not of here to unravel and begone, turning them back into the green mist from which they came.

Rodnay speaks through Rasson that everyone was fighting echoes. He says he's still sick, he will die, the Reach with him, and "then everything." Councilor Vaemyr brings up a prior possibility of separating Rodnay from the Reach and asks if it would help or make things worse; Rodnay doesn't know. He says he wakes in dreams and mentions a witch of ice, a witch of light. People puzzle over whether this is the same person or two, and, if two, then who the second is. Rodnay begins to speak in the Ithzir language, which Xorus translates as along the lines of "make spirit plane," then a second line which Missoni translates as along the lines of "listen fight star." Rodnay seems to lack the strength to convey any more, so people are left puzzled over what it could mean...

Investigation in the Green Snow

[Rusty Cutlass, Grub Hall]

Burnished wooden planks curve out to form the massive hall of the tavern's entrance, with rows of sturdy oaken posts rising to connect with a network of rafters above. Dozens of blackened oil lanterns hang from the ceiling, their light at times a haze behind wisps of smoke drifting in from the galley. In the center rests a huge cast-iron pot surrounded by countless tables and barrel chairs. A half-circle driftwood bar is nestled in the corner beneath a salt-stained crest. You also see the prismatic Leafiara disk, a large driftwood box, a wide wooden ramp and an open archway leading to a wooden plank bridge.

Ashen flakes of snow drift silently down from the black velvet sky.

[General] Pukk thinks, "Weather in landing."

[General] Burbomsund thinks, "Pukk, get out o fmy thoughts."

[General] Khirem asks, "Why is they ashen? shouldn they be white?"

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the sparkling Monthas disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, a scintillating fishscale, a pyrographed jadewood compendium moving around with its numerous limbs, an onyx-bellied jade green serpent, the Flurin disk, the Ellowan disk, the Arahnim disk, a skeletal bull frog that is sitting, a large acorn, a glum badland spirit that is flying around, the Dohvah disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a beaded star ruby hand-flower, a handful of white flower petals, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Masen, Ishtur, High Lord Monthas, Ehlron, Town Councilor Irval, Kalikak, Monza, Flurin, Lord Burbomsund, Ellowan, Arahnim, Faiyth, Pukk, Dativoy who is sitting, Andromalius who is sitting, Dohvah who is kneeling, Peam

[General] Pukk exclaims, "Ashen is usually a sign of something good!"

Pukk exclaims, "You're the first!"

Leafiara exclaims, "Looks like I am!"

Sir Cryheart just arrived.

Leafiara exclaims, "But there's Sir Cryheart!"

Burbomsund says, "Monza is the best."

Pukk exclaims, "And a Cryheart too!"

Burbomsund says, "Better than all of you."

[General] Pukk exclaims, "Cryheart is here so come join the fun! Join your local Cryheart today!"

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Cryheart!"

Burbomsund says, "I love monza."

Pukk exclaims, "All aboard!"

Speaking to Pukk, Missoni says, "If you insist."

Pukk recites:

"Join Cryheart for a fun filled adventure!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We gonna die tonite."

Nairena proudly says, "We made the trail just a little bit safer."

Speaking to Kiyna, Drazaa shares, "I toured the grounds of the Kindred Games tonight; am looking forward to the feats of strengths that will occur there tomorrow."

A stuffed pale-faced coppery barn owl with intelligent glittering eyes suddenly appears out of thin air! It squawks loudly and bites hungrily at Gutstorm's ankles before disappearing. You think you hear faint laughter in the distance.

Gutstorm gasps.

Speaking drunkenly to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Gutstorm slurs, "Bad Owly!"

A smattering of green crystalline snowflakes fall quietly from the dark blanket of night.

Speaking to Gutstorm, Rasson says, "Watch for falling roa'tars."

Faiyth asks, "Does the green death also cause insanity?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Awww green shnow."

Pukk says, "At least it's not yellow snow."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Like me ice ring."

Kiyna says, "Snow's green this time, eh? Like Guts's ice..."

Speaking quietly to Gutstorm, Myasarie says, "Be better than yellow snow one be thinking."

Erthevan quietly asks, "Can anyone tell me where the Krag Slopes are hereabouts?"

Speaking approvingly to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Ah, I see, you've concocted another genius plan. Defeat Octaven by controlling all the local weather with your own ice ring."

Speaking softly to Gutstorm, Nairena says, "Ice ice sylvan."

Pukk recites:

"Last call to join Cryhearts

deeds may or may not be required"

Burbomsund asks, "Pukk, what is Cryhearts?"

Thrassus says, "The Reach is acting up it seems."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat feller."

Speaking softly to Gutstorm, Nairena asks, "Whats happening?"

Kialeigh says, "If you give Cryheart a carrot he trots us wherever we want."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "It will take more than that to defeat Octaven. Fortunately, we have more than that. Guts can put his ice together with my fire."

As Kiyna rubs her silver band, a ball of garnet red fire builds in her right hand.

Kiyna offers Gutstorm a ball of red fire.

Gutstorm accepts Kiyna's red fire.

Burbomsund says, "Pukk."

Speaking softly to Gutstorm, Nairena asks, "Whats happening?"

Leafiara says, "Hmm, and I have a lightning ring..."

Pukk says, "Kiyna and Gutstorm..as a team? Oh that should be interesting."

Cryheart says, "Weather has turned."

As Leafiara rubs her fulgurite talon ring, a spark of opalescent white electricity builds in her right hand.

Speaking softly to Gutstorm, Nairena exclaims, "Use your slurry words, dwarf!"

The carmine ball of fire in Gutstorm's hand flashes, bathing him in a red hue.

Leafiara tosses her white spark from her right hand into the air before catching it again in her left hand.

Burbomsund recites:

"What is going on"

Leafiara throws the opalescent spark into the air and steps beneath it. It begins to break apart in mid air. Small fragments of white lightning rain down on her.

As Gutstorm rubs his brushed steel band, a layer of malachite green frost forms around the band and quickly spreads to his left hand, forming a jagged chunk of green ice.

Burbomsund recites:

"I refuse to be ignored by the huddled masses... someone pay attention to me now"

Gutstorm offers Kiyna a chunk of green ice.

Kiyna accepts Gutstorm's green ice.

Speaking quietly to Burbomsund, Myasarie says, "Hush and thee will find out."

Pukk says, "The dreaded Lylia stare of death."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Just need earth and heart rings and you can summon the legendary captain elanthia."

Kialeigh says, "There ya go. Perfect again."

Burbomsund recites:

"Fine then Myasarie, i am stalki... er, joining, you"

Kialeigh exclaims, "Thanks!"

Speaking to Myasarie, Pukk says, "You should join Cryheart."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Aww it poofed."

Speaking quietly to Burbomsund, Myasarie says, "Good luck with that Sir."

Kialeigh asks, "We shall bring the singing man as a shield?"

Burbomsund says, "Monza."

Burbomsund says, "Join cryheart."

Cryheart says, "She did."

Whisker says, "Have battled the Snowbunny trail and come away victorious."

Burbomsund says, "No she didn't."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me am hot shtuff."

Faiyth says, "More like luke warm."

Tikba carefully asks, "Have the witch hunters arrived?"

Wisps of green light begin to slowly drift along the surface of Lake Eonak, causing the water to glow with an eerie viridian light within the shadow of Melgorehn's Reach.

[General] Lylia thinks, "Gathering together to talk about the snow."

Leafiara admits, "No idea."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat da green shnow mebbe."

[General] Rasson thinks, "Green snow."

Pukk exclaims, "To the lake!"

Thrassus says, "Here we go again."

Faiyth says, "Giddup."

Myasarie quietly says, "And it begins."

Vaemyr says, "Looks like the lake acting up again."

A dark-haired half-elven priestess says, "You must not fear the dragon."

Cryheart says, "We should head to the Lake."

Pukk recites:

"We are heading somewhere

bring your deeds!"

Speaking wryly to a dark-haired half-elven priestess, Leafiara says, "Trust me, the dragon's the least of our worries."

Monza exclaims, "Drains the lake!"

Cryheart says, "Moving out."

Pukk says, "Good idea."

Cryheart says, "To Lake Eonak."

Pukk recites:

"Ready up guys!"

[General] Slapfu thinks, "Well, that doesn't take a genius. We know where yellow snow comes from and you've just had over a month of green puke everywhere..."

Kiyna says, "At this point it would be more strange if Lake Eonak wasn't doing something weird."

Burbomsund says, "If you don't add monza i am going on a rampage later."

Cryheart says, "One..."

Cryheart says, "Two."

Cryheart says, "Leaving."

[travel]

Speaking quietly to Pukk, Myasarie says, "And ladies."

Speaking to Myasarie, Pukk says, "You are so right."

Pukk recites:

"And ladies"

Nairena softly says, "Better not be no trouble or im smashing someones head in."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody hide behind Nairena"

Kiyna asks, "Lost your way?"

Burbomsund says, "Nairena, clearly you have not met Elizabeth 2."

Rasson asks, "Maaybe we should get people's fears really fast, anything worse than flying giant blood red roa'tars?"

Cryheart says, "Wanted to check something."

Speaking softly to Burbomsund, Nairena says, "I have."

Kialeigh says, "Snakes."

Speaking softly to Burbomsund, Nairena says, "Warsword."

Burbomsund says, "Oh yeah."

[Melgorehn's Reach, Lake Eonak]

You are on the bank of a beautiful mountain lake that is fed by a waterfall gushing from the mountain side. There is a path which seems to actually lead up the side of the mountain. You also see a cedar chip path and a barely visible trail leading into a grove of ancient trees.

Pukk exclaims, "Aha! We are here!"

Speaking to Kialeigh, Rasson says, "Don't think that is worse."

Speaking drunkenly to Kiyna, Gutstorm slurs, "Obsherf."

Kialeigh says, "I dunno... nothing is worse than snakes."

Pukk exclaims, "Quick, let's throw Gutstorm into the lake!"

Rasson says, "You didn't see the blood red roa'tars last night."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Fairven down dere."

Faiyth says, "Sounds delicious."

Pukk says, "The frosty grey wolf jumped over the lazy wild dark crimson dog."

Nairena softly says, "I bet that water is very cold."

Kiyna says, "I hope it's only Faireve down there."

Kialeigh says, "This lake has unfond memories..."

Cryheart says, "Yep."

Pukk says, "Even the dog knows this isn't a good place."

Nairena softly says, "Ive never went swimming in this lake."

Goldstr says, "Many memories."

Vaemyr says, "I think Faireve is more up than down, it sort of disipated into the magic around the mountain last we saw."

Pukk asks, "You will protect me right?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Every dwarf ferdem shelf."

Speaking softly to Pukk, Nairena says, "You should be protecting us."

Faiyth says, "All you gotta do is duck and you'll be fine.. they won't be able to find you."

Pukk exclaims, "I'm a poor defenseless locksmith!"

Kiyna says, "This is where a lot of things happened. Kayse taught me how to guard my mind against intrusion here. And... also where I got my scarab."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Faiyth says, "Maybe stop catching fire and you'll be less visible."

Cryheart says, "Ahh..the memories."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Nice view down ere."

Speaking to an emaciated black horse, Pukk says, "You really need more food."

Vaemyr says, "Maybe it's quieted down."

Wisps of green energy begin to lift up from Lake Eonak and lazily drift outward, coiling through the trees of Lower Dragonsclaw.

Speaking drunkenly to Xorus, Gutstorm informs, "Me led da researchin team inta Darkstone lash night, and we fed Thrassus to a roa'ter."

Speaking blithely to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Nope."

Pukk says, "It's moved."

Vaemyr says, "Or maybe not..."

Tikba uneasily says, "AH."

Vaemyr says, "Uhhh that's the mana fire energy we've seen."

Lylia says, "There are surely better choices to feed to the roa'ters. Thrassus is a dish best served cold."

Vaemyr says, "That's probably not good."

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia murmurs something you don't understand.

Kiyna asks, "Have we the faintest idea what to do about it, yet? Surely this is a higher priority than Darkstone?"

Thrassus says, "I still think they were fear manfestations and not actual roa'ters."

Speaking to Myasarie, Pukk says, "Don't fear I will be here, hiding behind you."

Drazaa whispers something to Kiyna.

Speaking drunkenly to Lylia, Gutstorm flatters, "Thrassus was not me firsht choice but he only envoy we had."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Thrassus says, "Tikba was present."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Oh, me mishtake."

Speaking quietly to Pukk, Myasarie says, "Considering one be much small than m'lord nae sure how you will manage that one."

Speaking to Myasarie, Pukk says, "I'm good at hiding. You would be surprised."

Cryheart says, "Hmm..."

Thrassus says, "Besides, they originated from poor Magister Remuliad's fears."

Tikba says, "If the energy is moving outwards, we may need to follow where it leads."

Cryheart says, "That is what I am thinking."

Cryheart says, "Moving out."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me aint walkin all over da foresht tnite."

[travel]

Pukk says, "It went towards lower dragonsclaw I think."

Burbomsund asks, "Wait, can we go back to town?"

Burbomsund says, "I forgot something."

Cryheart says, "No."

[General] Monthas exclaims, "I killed it!"

Cryheart asks, "Ye need to head to town?"

Faiyth says, "YOU Can go back to town and come find us after."

Burbomsund says, "No."

Burbomsund says, "I'm just trolling you haha."

Lylia simply asks, "Why?"

Cryheart says, "Dinnae do that or ye will find yourself removed."

Kiyna says, "Someone should probably stay by the lake in case something happens there."

Burbomsund says, "Yessir."

Pukk says, "This looks like the right direction."

Cryheart says, "If ye hear or see anything, call out."

Kiyna says, "I'll head over there."

Vaemyr says, "I'll go back toward the lake, I can come back if you all find something."

Pukk exclaims, "Velnalin invasion!"

Burbomsund recites:

"Tonight we dine on velnalin soup"

Faiyth says, "As offering."

A low growl echoes from within the darkness of the Lower Dragonsclaw forest.

[General] Lankas thinks, "I got the dead person."

Irval says, "On yer ready."

Leafiara idly remarks, "Curious."

Cryheart says, "Prepare."

Kialeigh says, "At least it's not a snake."

Drazaa says, "Steady."

Kialeigh says, "Snakes don't growl."

Pukk exclaims, "Sorry! That was my tummy!"

Leafiara calmly says, "I'm sure it's fine."

Cryheart says, "Errr."

Speaking amusedly to Leafiara, Nairena says, "Famous last words."

Cryheart says, "Odd."

Ethereal green columns of light begin to march through the Lower Dragonsclaw, their shapes growing more gnarled, and tall, and muscular as they disappear out of sight. Growls grow within the woods.

Kiyna says, "...That doesn't seem good."

Leafiara interestedly says, "Fascinating."

Myasarie quietly says, "That nae be good."

Vaemyr says, "Hmm."

Nairena softly says, "Nope."

Thrassus says, "We might want to guard the camp."

Tikba says, "Or the town."

Thrassus says, "If they get close to the town, yes."

Irval says, "Or a choke point."

Vaemyr says, "Or just well, be on guard."

[General] Rysul thinks, "So how is Elanthia today."

Leafiara amiably says, "I'll head back for the gates at the first sign of hostility."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Not many choke points in an expansive forest."

Pukk asks, "It's just some green mist and growls. What can go wrong?"

Commence Combat

[Lower Dragonsclaw, Forest]

You release the scents of the various herbs growing on the forest floor with your steps. They mingle with the breeze that courses through the trees to create an ever-changing, but always pleasant, aroma. You also see tendrils of creeping black mist, a grey-green large troll mercenary, a frothing troll berserker, a kobold that appears dead, a velnalin that appears dead, the prismatic Leafiara disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the brown Nairena disk, the vermeil Myasarie disk draped with silver strands of tidal pearls, a frost-covered yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake, a velnalin that appears dead, an emaciated black horse, a lazy wild dark crimson dog, a sad luck spirit that is flying around, a bushy-tailed golden brown coyote, a white-eared frosty grey wolf, a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, a bereaved wasteland spirit that is flying around, a fluffy white cat, an animated flayed gigas disciple, a flame-eyed burnished ember fox, a velnalin that appears dead, a kobold that appears dead, a rolton that appears dead and a kobold that appears dead.

[extended combat]

Cryheart says, "Younguns."

Burbomsund says, "What in the holy hell."

Irval says, "Tinies."

Leafiara clarifies, "...hostility from them... I couldn't tell who attacked first in that--skirmish."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Loot yoo killsh Xorus!"

Tikba says, "Not blood-red, at least."

Kiyna wonders, "Grimswarm, perhaps?"

[General] Khirem thinks, "Landins under attack."

Irval says, "Or a mutation."

Xorus says, "Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated."

Irval says, "The reach does funny things."

[combat]

[General] Rysul asks, "Whats attacking it something fun?"

[combat]

[General] Cyrice thinks, "War troll just wandered into tsc."

[General] Khirem thinks, "War trolls were first wave."

Vaemyr says, "Possibly that the energy is affecting the forest trolls that normally are here."

[combat]

Missoni confusedly asks, "Why are they green?"

[combat]

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Arnt all troll green?"

[combat]

Cryheart asks, "Green fire effect?"

[combat]

Leafiara speculates, "Maybe they're born of the manafires somehow."

[combat]

Myasarie quietly asks, "Or plague?"

Tikba says, "The trolls are in town."

[combat]

Kiyna says, "I'm hearing that they're in town."

[combat]

Vaemyr says, "Gonna check out the town, seems like a few managed to get inside."

Leafiara says, "Moving."

[combat; Leafiara breaks away from the group to head to town, so much of the rest of the dialogue is only people's thoughts]

[General] Jaffrey asks, ""why am I getting arrested for fighting invading trols?"

[ongoing travel and combat]

Green ethereal forms drift into view, moving from Lake Eonak to the Lower Dragonsclaw forest. As they reach the woods, their forms gnarl and twist, taking on the shape of snarling trolls.

[General] Pukk exclaims, "Rooks to the roof tops! Rain down on them invaders!"

[General] Leafiara thinks, "The town actually looks clear for now after we cleared out a few stragglers... they might not be aiming for us, but we'll keep watch."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Some still around outside the town, I'm clearing them as I see them."

[General] Thrassus thinks, "It's still to be determined if they are aiming at anything in general."

[combat]

[General] Jaffrey asks, ""why did I get arrested for fighting invading trols?"

[combat]

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Burn burn burn!"

[General] Guennwhfar exclaims, "The constable is in their pay!"

[General] Leafiara thinks, "They're mobbing just outside gates a bit, so handling that."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hiresword!"

[combat]

[General] Pukk thinks, "We need rooks on the rooftops for support."

[combat]

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Baby troll king."

[combat]

[General] Talismanblue asks, "I just arrived, is there an invasion?"

[General] Leafiara thinks, "They run quickly to compensate for how weak they are, so they do sneak past quickly when they want."

Leafiara says, "Uh-oh, Pukk." [died]

The ghostly voice of Monthas says, "Wow, that escalated quickly."

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Monthas says, "Any thats why invasions are so bad."

[combat]

[General] Vareimus thinks, "The town guard is at Helga's right now."

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Pukk says, "This was an interesting night."

[combat]

[General] Jaffrey asks, "Why isn't justice turned off?"

[combat]

[General] The ghost of Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "Me got hit witta tree trunk!"

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Pukk says, "There I was defending when blam! I'm dead."

[Realm] Cryheart asks, "Where ye at, Gutstorm?"

[General] The ghost of Pukk thinks, "You can't attack hireswords...they will hang you for it."

Vaemyr asks, "What happened here?"

Leafiara says, "Not sure."

The ghostly voice of Monthas says, "The trolls."

Leafiara says, "I arrived to most of them already dead."

[Realm] Cryheart thinks, "So that is justice."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Minor mishaps and death in town. Being resolved..."

[General] Burbomsund thinks, "I got left behind and i will die."

[Realm] Cryheart asks, "Anyone by the West gate?"

[Realm] Leafiara thinks, "Vaemyr was last I looked, not sure if he's still posted there."

[General] Khirem thinks, "Ballisate nae unlock eithers."

Leafiara says, "They're generally just ouside the gates."

A local guard runs by yelling, "Invasion, invasion! Open the towers! Any and all archers, to arms, to arms!"

[combat]

Dark hooded figures rise up from the shadows along several rooftops of Wehnimer's Landing, darting about like shadowy fragments and firing arrows down upon trolls as they appear within the streets.

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Burbomsund says, "Sooner i get up, sooner i can keep kicking arse."

[combat]

Leafiara says, "Okay, I'll stick to west gate then."

[General] Kiyna exclaims, "Stay light on your feet, Rooks!"

[General] Leafiara assures, "We always are!"

From the walls of the Hendoran Outpost, imperial soldiers position themselves, firing volley of arrows down into the grasslands as trolls migrate from Lake Eonak to the forest.

[General] Leafiara adds, "...on that note, North Gate is massively defended while I'm the only one at West Gate. That said, it's not under any heavy siege at the moment."

[General] Pukk asks, "Do we have Rooks on the rooftops?"

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Yes, we do. You were just too dead to see them."

Darkstonian soldiers line the walls and towers of the imperial camp and fire arrows and hurl spears at the monsters.

[combat]

[General] Leafiara notes, "Square's compromised. Might have to organize triage elsewhere."

[combat]

[Realm] Cryheart asks, "Anyone at north gate?"

[Realm] Maevie thinks, "I am."

[General] Myasarie asks, "Perhaps at Voln?"

[Realm] Cryheart thinks, "Shout out if ye get into trouble."

[General] Khirem thinks, "Few o us watchin out."

An Assault of Heaven and Earth

There is a high-pitched shriek that echoes out from the depths of Melgorehn's Reach.

[General] Pukk thinks, "All those who feel that they cannot fight, take refuge in the inns or voln courtyard. TSC might not be safe."

[General] Kiyna asks, "Rodnay, is that you?"

[combat]

A second shriek echoes from the Reach, then a third, then another.

[combat]

[General] Directed slowly to Kiyna, Leafiara thinks, "I'm going with yes."

[combat]

[General] Pukk thinks, "The fall back locations are Thrak Inn Trophy Room and Voln."

[extended combat]

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Strategically, I'm not convinced we should split a large force to scale the Reach, but some eyes couldn't hurt."

[combat]

[General] Pukk thinks, "For those who feel that they are still too inexperienced you can man the ballistas if there is invaders outside the gates."

[extended combat]

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "The shieks are griffins."

[combat]

[General] Kiyna exclaims, "Griffins!"

Materializing from thin air, rising from the depths of the Reach itself, a green nebulous form takes flight, shifting and twisting in the air as it soars away from the mountain, soon transforming into a golden war griffin.

[General] Leafiara asks, "...griffins? Again?"

[General] Kiyna exclaims, "Townspeople, get indoors!"

[General] Toxyrox thinks, "This is dumb."

[combat]

[General] Mystiq thinks, "There is a lot of trolls in lower dragonsclaw."

[General] Leafiara asks, "The griffins are coming from the Reach, then?"

[combat]

[General] Leafiara wryly thinks, "Never mind, answered my own question."

[extended combat]

The night air around Melgorehn's Reach begins to shimmer, swirling about like green ink, weaving throughout the sky as the outline of a huge wooden siege tower appears, behind a veil of glistening energy.

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Well, this is oddly familiar..."

Vaemyr asks, "From back when we fought the Knave?"

[General] Tikba asks, "The siege tower is familiar to you?"

Kiyna says, "It seems like memories from the past are being manifested."

Leafiara says, "No, familiar from Gnul."

Kiyna says, "Or something like that."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Gnul used the same tactics. Siege towers and griffins."

Cryheart says, "Could be."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "The siege tower? oh right he had them too."

Beyond the viridian veil, trolls begin to amass around the base of the siege tower, snarling and growling as they seem to be marching towards something.

Speaking wryly to Vaemyr, Drazaa notes, "He seems to have at least one of everything."

Thrassus asks, "Where are they headed?"

Markx says, "Lovely."

[combat]

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Could be memories of events like before, cept these are fairly recent ones."

Thrassus says, "That discounts the camp and the town."

[General] Irval thinks, "Unsuccessfully."

Nairena softly asks, "The keep outside of town?"

[General] Faiyth thinks, "I say we offer the trolls Irval to go away."

Kiyna says, "The outpost."

Cryheart says, "Aye, but is close."

Nairena softly says, "Its got high walls."

[General] Leafiara amusedly thinks, "Nice try, Pukk--wait, you're not Pukk."

[extended combat]

[General] Vaemyr asks, "So is the siege tower actually somewhere?"

[combat]

[General] Leafiara thinks, "It's possibly being instantiated in another valence, as it were..."

[combat]

[General] Mystiq thinks, "Are we meeting up/."

[combat]

[Realm] Cryheart thinks, "A group by the Outpost."

[General] Kalikak thinks, "Ok for you i'll stay."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Their axes are very real. I imagine their tower is just as dangerous."

Beyond the emerald wall of flickering light, more siege towers roll into view, along with ballista. Trolls roar at the side of their siege engines, drowned out briefly by the loud whoosh of a trebuchet.

[combat]

[General] Walton thinks, "Do they have huge talons."

[combat]

[General] Leafiara wryly thinks, "The question is whether they can come through to our--oh, let's just assume the answer is yes."

[Realm] Cryheart asks, "Landing being attacked?"

[General] Cryheart asks, "Landing being attacked?"

[Realm] Burbomsund thinks, "Nay."

[General] Smalrog thinks, "Trolls at the north gate."

[General] Burbomsund thinks, "Nay."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Straggler trolls and griffins, but nothing major yet."

[combat]

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Much stronger foes near Outpost."

[combat]

[General] Mystiq thinks, "Gate."

[extended combat]

[General] Cryheart thinks, "The first group of foes were scouting and testing our defenses, as they were way too young it seems."

A siege tower is rolled amidst a swarm of hunter trolls, moving near the wall of green light. Perched upon the top of the tower stands a huge, bulking troll, neck bulging with veins and amber eyes wide and glaring. He throws back his head and howls, raising a huge black-bladed axe to the sky.

[extended combat]

[General] Pukk exclaims, "Good job people! Keep up the defense!"

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Well, on the one hand, we killed him once and he had plinite..." [she hadn't caught yet that it was Drangell, not Gnul]

[very extended combat]

[General] Guennwhfar thinks, "Nairena heh I been hiding and ambushing trolls, they cant find me."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Getting attacked by griffins as well..dangerous."

The siege tower rolls closer into view now, the huge troll upon it laughing with madness, laughing and laughing and laughing. His dark amber eyes glow with power and hatred, and he points forward with his great axe as a host of trolls pour into view from behind him, spilling out like a rising tide of monsterous grey and green flesh.

Ascending the Reach

[at this point, Gutstorm and Leafi break away to scale the Reach in case there's a way to cut it off at the source]

[General] Pukk thinks, "Gryphons getting attacked by griffins..."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Aye."

[Melgorehn's Reach, Lift]

This is an open-air, wooden box which is suspended on a beam trellis that is precariously attached to the side of the mountain. There are plenty of openings which afford a great view, but the cab itself is covered (probably to guard against falling rocks). You also see the Gutstorm disk.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Urchin Gutstorm

[General] Walton asks, "Storm or war griffins?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Damb trollefy left witout me."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me hand were full."

[General] Rysul thinks, "'I am standing on Toxy's sloop with her stop passing bad information."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "War griffins."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Oh wait."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We inshide?"

Leafiara says, "Yep."

Leafiara asks, "Wait, did you turn the wheel?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "No idea wot me did."

Leafiara says, "Or open the dam..."

[Leafi opens th e dam]

Gutstorm yells, "Git backin here!"

Leafiara says, "There we go."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We moofin?"

Leafiara's sentient potato boasts, "My mom slayed a six-headed maple turkey king once!

Leafiara exclaims, "Think so!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Nice!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "When didja kill thish turkey?"

Leafiara says, "I think... 7 years ago."

[General] Vaemyr asks, "Is there a location on the siege tower?"

[General] Mystiq thinks, "They are everywhere."

[General] Leafiara reports, "Guts and I are scaling the Reach just in case there's a way to get to it from the moon chamber."

[General] Thrassus thinks, "It's still approaching."

[General] Kalikak thinks, "Ok i left came back dead bodies are gone."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Woulda kept dat on da down low sho dey not ambush us."

From beyond the emerald veil, the troll commander bellows, eyes almost glowing gold. Drangell's voice echoes across the night, "Destroy and devour!"

Leafiara says, "Hmm..."

Leafiara says, "Not quite the troll I expected."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Drangell huh."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me got him minicher."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Lil thing."

[General] Leafiara considers, "It's almost like a merging of memories, Drangell and Gnul..."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me knock em down, you knock em out, dohkay?"

Leafiara says, "I'm sure we can handle it."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Aye."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me got a sign incase we run inta Dragnell."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye know why Enisius not sho shmart?"

Rodnay's Intervention

Suddenly, the siege tower stops, just feet from the wall of green light. The army of trolls around it, come to a halt, their snarls and spittle frozen to their faces.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "He shoulda made a portal to get up here."

[General] Kalikak thinks, "Ok wierder than having sex with a verra and less expensive."

Leafiara says, "Strange..."

[Melgorehn's Reach, Moon Chamber]

You are in a vast, domed enclosure cut from the native rock of the mountain. The floor is perfectly smooth but the vaulted ceiling is chiseled in an array of gothic designs. In the center of the room sits a single onyx altar. You also see the prismatic Leafiara disk, the Gutstorm disk, a churning white portal and a round shaft cut into the floor of the chamber.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Urchin Gutstorm

Leafiara says, "Well.."

Leafiara says, "Nothing looks amiss."

A ferocious golden war griffin dives into the Lower Dragonsclaw and snatches a kobold in its talons, soaring high above while it devours its newfound prey!

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "Yoo put Yardie down!"

[General] Pukk exclaims, "Oh no! Not the poor kobolds!"

Leafiara says, "I suppose we could head back."

A voice in your mind says, "You are not of here."

Leafiara says, "Or... maybe not."

[General] Pukk exclaims, "I am too from here!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Nor yoo are here of not."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Didja hear dat inn yoo head too?"

[General] Pukk asks, "Did everybody else here that voice?"

[General] Leafiara tentatively thinks, "Okay, guessing you all heard that down there too."

A voice in your mind says, "Unravel, unwind, begone."

[General] Khirem thinks, "I nae am, buts ye's stuck with me."

Leafiara says, "I think they heard it down there too."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yep."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Okay. It wasn't just me. Sometimes these voices in my head get confusing."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Can we recharge mangled shpoon wit dish?"

Leafiara says, "I think Rodnay just solved it."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "We heard it as well."

[General] Rysul thinks, "I thought I had the merchant channel untuned what an odd thing to hear in the middle of the battle reports."

Leafiara admits, "I actually have no idea."

A griffin soars overhead, swooping out over Wehnimer's Landing. As a Rook upon a rooftop sets to fire an arrow upon it, the griffin dissolves into green mist and vanishes.

Leafiara exclaims, "I'm heading back, though!"

[General] Pukk thinks, "Good job."

[General] Tikba carefully thinks, "Thank you for your aid."

[General] Pukk exclaims, "Use fire it seems!"

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "Me da king udda Reach!!"

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Nothing seemed amiss atop the Reach, but Guts is still up there just in case."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Guts is amiss. What are you talking about."

[General] Leafiara relents, "Okay, fine, nothing *else* seemed amiss."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "I think Rodney is trying to disperse them all."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Better."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Could be."

Trolls suddenly come to a stop in the Lower Dragonsclaw, their legs rooted in place, their eyes frozen in a glare. One by one, they begin to dissolve, melting into green ethereal mist that slowly dissipates.

[General] Directed amiably to Vaemyr, Leafiara thinks, "I think he's succeeding at it."

[Lower Dragonsclaw, Grasslands]

Growing among the warm grasses are a few scattered trees. It is hard to tell if the forest you can see to the west is encroaching upon the grasslands or if it is slowly being harvested and replaced for grazing. You also see the Vaemyr disk, a flame-eyed burnished ember fox, the Mystiq disk, a rolton pelt, a thorn-barbed dirge-vaon vine, a dented steel greatshield, the Earthdiver disk, a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake, a bushy-tailed golden brown coyote, a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, the ice-covered Kialeigh disk, the bright pine green Faiyth disk hung with tiny ceramic kobolds, the discordant Tikba disk, the brown Nairena disk, the bloodstained Xorus disk with scuffed and dented sides, the Ehlron disk, the vermeil Myasarie disk draped with silver strands of tidal pearls, the Arahnim disk, the Lylia disk, the crab-shaped Rasson disk, a sad luck spirit that is flying around, a fluffy white cat, a white-eared frosty grey wolf that is sitting, a lazy wild dark crimson dog, a bereaved wasteland spirit that is flying around and a large stone outpost.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Kiyna, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Grand Lady Mystiq, Earthdiver, Magister Raelee, Xorus, Imperatrix Lylia, Belnia, Tikba, Rasson, Bathcwyn Missoni, Lord Thrassus, Ehlron, Drazaa, Lady Nairena, Markx, Arahnim, Town Councilor Irval, Faiyth, Kialeigh, Myasarie, Sir Cryheart

[General] Pukk thinks, "Good job Rodnay."

Speaking to Nairena, Markx says, "Bork bork."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "For now at least."

Thrassus says, "Let's hope he can maintain this."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Need to find a way to get him some help."

Leafiara says, "Strange thing is, though, we haven't knowingly done anything to solve his issues..."

Nairena softly says, "I was worried about dying. I really dont feel like dying."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "He's doing the best he can. We need to get in there and help."

Speaking to Raelee, Missoni says, "As if the whole of history, or at least a recent portion of it, is happening at

Ribbons of deep blue light weave across the sky before Melgorehn's Reach, slowly twisting as if thread being fed through several hundred needles.

Speaking tentatively to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Well, that's what I was wondering... maybe it wasn't the manafires and it was Octaven, and she's no longer able to keep up whatever she was doing previously."

Nairena softly says, "Thats pretty."

[General] Kalikak thinks, "O well last invasion i tried to go about my bussiness and got attacked by dead birds."

Tikba carefully says, "Rodnay did suggest that 'she' was doing it."

Speaking to Tikba, Missoni asks, "We never did understand who 'she' is, though?"

Thrassus says, "There's quite a few folk that could cover."

[General] Pukk exclaims, "Still got some in town. Rooks keep defending!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I think the mana fires are still part of it, but yes if she's not able to activately do whatever she was doing, then it's possible he's regained some strength."

Tikba carefully says, "We theorized it was a Magister."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "He also pointed towards Raelee when he said so - perhaps indicating the connection that existed between Raelee and Octaven."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "I mean, we guessed it could of been Octaven, but we had basically nothing we could do with that information at the time."

Kiyna says, "Which means we need to focus the research team on the Reach, and away from Darkstone - the barony's going to be just as screwed as us if the Reach keeps this up, whether or not they have a castle."

The last remnant of green energy rises from the forest and lake and melts away, and soon after the deep blue ribbons of light fade into the backdrop of night.

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly thinks, "Leafi, how am git down from here."

Cryheart says, "Well, hopefully that means tis over."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "There's a portal still up there."

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "I don't think we can ignore darkstone at all, that's where Octaven is currently screwing up."

Myasarie quietly says, "Who ever or what ever seems to be losing power for now."

Tikba says, "Octaven seems to be the greater danger."

[General] Nairena exclaims, "Go head first like a dwarf sled, Gutsy!"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "On the other hand, if Rodnay can be returned to full strength, his aid might be the best shot of not causing some kind of catastrophe with Darkstone."

Lylia says, "Or was overpowered. If Rodnay dispelled those green vapors..."

[General] Cryheart asks, "Quiet in town?"

Communication

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "Echoes, nothing more."

[General] Maevie thinks, "Yes, as far as I saw."

[General] Nairena asks, "You are wearing a helmet right?"

Leafiara agrees, "Sounds about right."

Kiyna says, "So it is you, Rodnay."

Tikba politely greets, "Hello, Rodnay,"

[General] Khirem thinks, "In tsc, folks scoutin."

Vaemyr asks, "Are you less sick now?"

Rasson says, "Yeah there is that."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Looks like the town is okay now."

Lylia admits, "That was a voice I hoped never to hear again. Drangell's."

Cryheart says, "Hello Rodnay."

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "No."

Vaemyr frowns.

Leafiara surprisedly says, "Oh."

Irval asks, "Faireve?"

[General] Rysul thinks, "So god saved the day from god and all of you are fine with that."

Vaemyr asks, "Then are things getting worse?"

Cryheart asks, "To whom are we listening to?"

[General] Kalikak thinks, "I walked to the north gate all i saw was a shield on the ground."

Thrassus says, "Rodnay I assume."

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "I will die, and the Reach with me. Then everything. I'm sorry."

Leafiara says, "I suppose the--"

Leafiara stares off into space.

Kiyna says, "I think Darkstone can wait."

Lylia quietly says, "There are other paths. Surely."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We need him blood."

Tikba says, "There must be."

Leafiara encouragingly says, "We wouldn't let even you die if we could help it, never mind 'everything'."

Thrassus asks, "What does he mean by everything?"

Myasarie quietly says, "We just have to figure out what they are."

Cryheart says, "All of us, the land area, more perhaps."

Nairena softly asks, "I means we are all doomed?"

[General] Pukk thinks, "Rooks can stand down now."

Speaking to Rasson, Drazaa ventures, "It may not have to be this way. There must be another path."

Speaking to Thrassus, Xorus says, "Only one way to find out for certain."

Nairena softly asks, "It means we are all doomed?"

Thrassus asks, "The Reach storm collapsing will s[read?"

Speaking to Thrassus, Mystiq says, "The landing and everything to burn."

Cryheart says, "I think that is what he meant...or the folks where Rodnay is."

Vaemyr asks, "We had a theory to be able to seperate you from the reach... would that possibly help or worsen things?"

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "I do not know."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Rasson, yoo in contact wit Faireve?"

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "I wake in dreams."

Leafiara says, "On the bright side, it should be far easier now to convince even Elidal to let Enisius go."

Tikba asks, "What if we were to extinguish the fires?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We should toss Rasson inta Lake Eonake."

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "Walking the ribbons."

Missoni repeats, "The ribbons."

Speaking to Rasson, Drazaa encourages, "Say more."

Cryheart asks, "Walking the ribbons?"

Mystiq says, "I seen a ribbon on my way here."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Year by da bridge."

Leafiara says, "The ribbons of energy we saw, maybe."

Kiyna asks, "Rodnay, is there something we can do with the manafires? Extinguish them? Are they what's hurting you?"

Nairena softly says, "Its been there as long as I can remember."

Myasarie quietly asks, "Perhaps the ribbons be a road to followa?"

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "A witch of ice, a witch of light. I wake in dreams."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me jush shaw a bloo rolton."

Cryheart asks, "Octaven?"

Tikba says, "Octaven."

Thrassus asks, "Witch of light?"

Thrassus asks, "A second one, hm?"

Cryheart says, "Could be."

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "I am sick. We are sick."

Vaemyr says, "Ilyiaas perhaps, if both are not describing Octaven."

Lylia asks, "Sickness can be healed. Sometimes. Can you tell us more of the sickness?"

Speaking softly to Rasson, Nairena asks, "Anything we can do to maybe cure you all?"

Vaemyr says, "We know she is deeply involved with the reach at this point."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me needa drink."

From nearby, you hear Gutstorm yell, "Hey troll warlord in here!"

Nairena yells, "Buy it a drink!"

[General] Mystiq thinks, "Toward the gate of the landing."

Speaking curiously to Raelee, Kiyna asks, "Do you think Octaven could be described as a 'witch of light'?"

Thrassus says, "Hardly."

Speaking to Kiyna, Raelee says, "It is not a descriptor I would select for her."

Tikba says, "There may be another, then."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye all left troll warlord in dere."

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "It burns to blink, to think, to be."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Thrassus says, "Then kill it."

Vaemyr says, "Perhaps can Faireve help? The kroderine mixed with magic, and we've seen those shards with thadston absorb the green energy before. Maybe Faireve could absorb enough of it out of Rodnay and the Reach."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me did."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "That sounds plausible."

Tikba uncertainly says, "Then Faireve will be filled with this destructive energy."

Speaking sadly to Thrassus, Gutstorm slurs, "Had ta break me oath of pashtafishtishm."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Thrassus says, "Good, those are nonsense anyway."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Hopefully Faireve could fire it uhh away, similar to how thadston released the energy."

Vaemyr says, "I admit it's not the safest idea, but we don't seem to have a lot of options."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna asks, "...I hate to suggest it, but what of the obelisk? Could we not channel all that destructive power into the sky? Away from everything else?"

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "Stopped the echoes this time. A thread frayed, woven again."

Leafiara says, "If there were concerns about a thinking being having the energy, maybe even just sourcing enough kroderine could do it."

Thrassus asks, "Threads, hm?"

Missoni asks, "How can we stop the threads from fraying altogether?"

Thrassus asks, "Threads of time, you mean?"

Speaking quietly to herself, Raelee says, "... and one wonders what could happen if one plucked a thread and pulled..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I think part of what made it special was the kroderine fused with the bleak's energy, that seems difficult to reproduce."

Speaking to Raelee, Missoni says, "That sounds like a mess."

Nairena softly says, "Ive heard my grandmother speak of Threads of Time in a few of her stories and tales."

Irval says, "Threads of fate."

Speaking to Raelee, Thrassus says, "Perhaps even a collapse of the threads altogether making everything nonlinear. No more past or future, just a formless now."

Speaking to Thrassus, Kiyna says, "Sounds awful."

Tikba mildly says, "I prefer time to exist."

Vaemyr says, "Even today, we saw basically two different events be merged with Gnul and Dragnell."

Speaking to Thrassus, Raelee says, "Imagine what one could know with a near omniscient view of time."

Speaking to Tikba, Missoni says, "Likewise."

Rasson opens his mouth, but no words come out.

Speaking to Raelee, Thrassus says, "Yes, but you'd have to be able to comprehend it."

Irval says, "Grishom stone liked to mention Threads of import."

Drazaa suggests, "More of this cloth can be woven again perhaps."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Aronia, she da witch of light? or she da green one?"

Speaking to Thrassus, Raelee says, "Which would take time, but if time is no longer linear..."

Leafiara says, "If we could somehow catch Octaven sufficiently quickly, the Talon could probably be of use here, but that seems a bit optimistic..."

Cryheart says, "Aronia I thought was more nature related."

Speaking to Raelee, Thrassus says, "With no order to it, it would be nothing but a pointless cacaphony."

Speaking to Rasson, Drazaa queries, "Can you offer us any more direction Rodnay?"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Irval says, "Thats a reasonable thought on who the witch of light could be."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kiyna says, "I don't think I would describe Aronia as a witch of light, either... though it's closer than Octaven, certainly."

Irval says, "Well she controls plants."

Tikba says, "She does not control them. Imaera does."

Cryheart says, "Hmm."

Leafiara says, "Vaemyr's earlier speculation of Iliyaas seemed more plausible to me than Aronia."

Speaking to Thrassus, Raelee asks, "Perhaps that is a matter of perception. Our thought proceses are very linear, and thus we require order to facilitate our understanding. But to have a mind outside of time, would such order be required or would our consciousness be able to process it all differently?"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Irval asks, "Ilyaas?"

Vaemyr says, "Octaven, or again if it's two people, my guess is on Iliyaas."

Speaking to a bushy-tailed golden brown coyote, Drazaa says, "Rest, your claws are not needed for now."

Speaking to Raelee, Thrassus says, "I'd say some form of ascension or trancedance would be required first."

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "Lett issar kol."

Xorus says, "Te klaloc."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me no unnderstand troll."

Cryheart asks, "Say what?"

Lylia murmurs, "Ithziri."

Leafiara says, "Ithzir."

Speaking softly to Drazaa, Nairena says, "Shes a yote. Their claws stay out all the time. Its kitties that can extend and retrack their claws."

Tikba politely asks, "What did it mean?"

Speaking to Raelee, Thrassus says, "Our minds as they are now are unable to process it."

Speaking to Thrassus, Raelee says, "I agree with that."

[General] Rysul thinks, "Lie feath."

Speaking to Tikba, Xorus asks, "What, the Ithzir?"

Xorus says, "Lett issar kol, that would be something like 'make spirit plane'."

Speaking to Xorus, Vaemyr says, "Or home."

In a metallic voice, Rasson says, "Patalan ianu silf."

Irval exclaims, "Wait!"

Irval exclaims, "I have a spell for this!"

Speaking softly to Gutstorm, Nairena asks, "Do you understand this language?"

Rasson's head jerks awkwardly and says nothing else.

Missoni asks, "Listen...fight star?"

Discussion Afterward

Speaking drunkenly to Nairena, Gutstorm slurs, "Me not drink nuff to unnerstand."

Mystiq asks, "Need a krol?"

Xorus says, "Reminds of that 'black star' nonsense with Haidan."

Irval exclaims, "Comprehend !"

Speaking uncertainly to Missoni, Tikba repeats, "Fight star."

Leafiara says, "The Star of Khar'ta or a more... literal star? Hmm."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Him shay he want find home fer shpirit."

Speaking to Xorus, Vaemyr says, "Yes it reminds me very much of that."

Speaking to Tikba, Missoni says, "Surely there is some context we are missing."

Thrassus asks, "Intercept his spirit after he dies and direct it to a specific location, perhaps?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We need ta fight da shtar dat not lishten."

Xorus says, "That is certainly the Ithzir way."

Tikba firmly says, "We need to find Octaven."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia asks, "That phrase, 'let issar kol,' I think it was? What did it mean again? 'Make spirit plane?' Or 'place,' perhaps?"

Tikba wryly says, "We already did need to."

Leafiara says, "We already --"

Leafiara nods at Tikba.

Vaemyr says, "Might not be a phrase, but pointing to three different things."

Xorus says, "Country, place, plane..."

Speaking to Xorus, Thrassus asks, "A receptacle?"

Cryheart says, "Excuse me all, I am going to rest."

Lylia murmurs, "Like a phylactery for a piece of a lich's soul."

Mystiq says, "Well id Drangell is involved there is much to this."

Lylia says, "Yes. That is what I was thinking."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Cryheart, yoo better vishit da orphans!"

Lylia says, "To 'make' a plane, however, to prepare a place..."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "I sort of interpreted it as to make a spirit home, or yes perhaps like a phylactery or something."

Cryheart says, "I missed the outing aye."

Myasarie quietly says, "And thee."

Kiyna says, "I suppose I'll leave this to the more learned among us."

Speaking thoughtfully to Lylia, Tikba asks, "For him, or for them?"

Rasson says, "Its always the half elven rangers that get possessed."

Missoni asks, "Whose spirit?"

Lylia replies, "That is what I wondered."

Speaking drunkenly to Rasson, Gutstorm slurs, "How we know yoo are yoo and not da other yoo?"

Tikba says, "If the spirits are those coming through the rifts, they seem to be coming here."

Claede says, "It's all over my head."

Drazaa says, "There is very little between the spirit realm and ours around the Reach."

Tikba thoughtfully says, "Perhaps they need another place."

Leafiara says, "Maybe deciphering the second thing he said is key to understanding the first thing."

Lylia says, "It is over mine too, but at least there are a few words to help us now."

Drazaa says, "It is a thin space, between places."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Maybe... listen fight star, does not seem to be a phrase like the first, but more tasks."

Xorus says, "It is all very speculative. The Ithzir are reincarnationists. They store sacrificial Ithzir in crystalline vessels, and draing their energy to create the bodies for reborn spirits."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia asks, "Do you know anything about this process and what it is called in their tongue? Any texts that might...shed some sort of light on it all?"

Xorus says, "Eizh loji rievi. Death makes Life."

Tikba slowly says, "Rodnay could also be describing that process, then."

Thrassus says, "There is an entire Ithzir ziggurat beneath the Bay."

Lylia says, "It is all highly speculative."

Tikba wryly says, "If only we had an Ithzir vessel to investigate."

Missoni asks, "But then what is that bit about the star?"

Irval says, "And also the reach has sent pulses of energy into the bay."

Leafiara says, "Then that would render the two lines detached... I suppose that makes sense, given how cryptic the second was."

Lylia says, "Someone mentioned that reiver, the less smelly one, talking about a 'black star?'."

Thrassus says, "Surely there may be more information in it."

In a fair imitation of Xorus, Pukk says, "Indeed."

Xorus says, "Well. The Ithzir make heavy use of star symbols."

Vaemyr says, "Hmm."

Kiyna says, "'Star' could be figurative in any number of ways. A literal star, the star of Khar'ta, or even a metaphorical reference to a person. Unfortunately, one of the least helpful words we have here, I think."

Nairena softly says, "Forgive me but I must return to my home to get some rest."

Lylia mournfully agrees, "It really is such a broad array of possibilities."

Missoni says, "A few Arkati make use of the star, as well. It is quite a common symbol."

Nairena softly says, "Good luck figuring this out."

Lylia says, "Igaeshian readings, smoke seeing, telling fortunes with cards -- stars everywhere."

Tikba thoughtfully says, "It would be worth asking Iliyaas about these words, if we do find her."

[General] Pukk narrates, "As Nairena gets tired of the quiet. She decides to leave with a farewell to the crowd."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Good luck getting anything close to a straight answer from her."

Xorus says, "The Star of Khar'ta is also something of falling star to the Ithzir."

Xorus says, "They call it the Emerald Sun."

Speaking softly to Pukk, Nairena says, "Funny man you are."

Speaking to Tikba, Drazaa replies, "I imagine she will have some direction of aid. That is my hope."

Lylia says, "Not an emerald anymore."

[General] Pukk narrates, "Nairena decides to poke the narrator telling him he is funny and handsome."

Speaking to her crystalline structure, Delilahrae says, "Tell me."

[General] Nairena thinks, "I never said handsome."

[General] Pukk narrates, "In the meantime Deliahrae is speaking to a crystalline structure and waiting for a response."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Anyone elsh shee dat?"

Speaking amusedly to Drazaa, Tikba says, "It always is."

Speaking to Tikba, Drazaa wishes, "Rest well ne'mara."

Leafiara cocks her head at Gutstorm.

Lylia cocks her head at Gutstorm.

Missoni says, "I suppose I ought to do the same."

Gutstorm laughs!

[General] Pukk narrates, "Tikba, who is afraid of people who talk to objects decides to seek her god and pray on things."

(OOC) Gutstorm's player whispers, "You see some the tree trunks of the forest in the distance, just beyond the verdant field of the grasslands. You wonder if it would hurt to be hit by one, then you remember, you no longer have to worry."

Vaemyr says, "I'll do some thinking, but we are going to probably need to do some more... active experiements I think, sounds like we are shorter on time than we'd like."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "You may steal me away anytime you like."

(OOC) Gutstorm's player whispers, "I saw this on my screen in yellow."

Town Councilor Vaemyr's group just went northwest.

Leafiara says, "Are we ever *not* shorter on time than--"

Leafiara says, "Oh, there he goes."

[General] Pukk narrates, "Lylia keeps flirting with Xorus. Talking of blood and love and destruction."

Kiyna says, "I don't imagine I will be of much use in this puzzle. But I maintain what I've said. I don't trust Iliyaas. I don't recommend any of you do either."

[General] Lylia thinks, "As is our custom."

Leafiara frankly ssay, "There are only two people in that camp I *do* trust, which is saying something considering one of them betrayed me and the other has lied by claiming to have shot me."

Pukk asks, "Me and who else?"

Speaking amusedly to Pukk, Leafiara says, "You're not in the camp."

Pukk asks, "I'm not in your camp?"

Leafiara exclaims, "Not in the barony camp!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Where we at?"

[General] Pukk narrates, "Leafiara decides it is time to break Pukk's heart and tell him that he isn't in her camp."

Kiyna says, "Good job with the town defense, Rooks. We have proven each time that we're the ones out there fixing problems. Not the Red Watch."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye all criminal element."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kiyna asks, "If we're the criminal element, what's Amos's excuse?"

Leafiara amiably teases, "At least we're open about it."

Speaking drunkenly to Kiyna, Gutstorm slurs, "Amos bribe better den yoo."

[General] Pukk narrates, "Gutstorm lectures everybody on their criminal backgrounds."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kiyna says, "You're probably right about that."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kiyna says, "That said, if you're willing to bribe me right now, I am of a mind to accept."

Leafiara considers, "I probably *should* get more on top of supplying free cookies and ice cream."
