The Ta'Vaalor guardsmen are posted at each of the four gates of the city-fortress of Ta'Vaalor.
There are 24 guardsmen in all, one posted at each gate. Shift change occurs every 8 hours, at 1:00 am, 9:00 am, and 5:00 pm eastern.

As Zydeth comes through the gate for the shift change, Aelaetril nods to Zydeth and strides away into town. Zydeth glances about at his surroundings. Zydeth scratches his nose. Zydeth shifts his weight. Aelaetril yawns.
