Summary

 • Lord Breshon greets everyone for a late dinner, saying the outpost never sleeps while Grishom Stone is in the Deadfall. He brings news from the Northern Sentinel, Earl Jovery. Between Grishom and Rodnay in Melgorehn's Reach, danger exists--but the Empire and Landing have much to offer each other despite past issues caused by rogue elements on both sides.
 • Following the town council vacancy left by Pylasar, who had been a Regional Envoy to represent Landing interests with other locations, Earl Jovery has arranged to fill that spot with someone from the Hall of Mages--to serve as a connection to the Empire and a voice for both sides. Additionally, this representative will bring aid to the hungry and homeless.
 • Chamorr asks who the representative will be; Breshon doesn't know and suspects it'll be announced in coming days. Chamorr asks what if we refuse the offer; Breshon says it isn't an offer.
 • Mayor Lylia raises the point that Town Council members must be citizens. Breshon says perhaps there can be a dual citizenship or loyalty pledge and acknowledges this is new territory outside of what has been done historically. Lylia asks if Breshon has spoken with the Vaalorians about this arrangement; he says he hasn't.
 • Sir Bristenn asks if there's any other word from Lolle and Jovery; Breshon says he believes he knows what he's inquiring about and has heard nothing of the discovery of a certain paragon and that "delicate matters move slow sometimes."
 • Chamorr says a number of folks won't accept the power play by the Empire; Breshon says it isn't one. He knows there will be initial strong reactions considering the past, with Dennet Kestrel alone tainting the water, but says the future is bright and promising--and their enemy is the same, he says, as he looks toward the Deadfall. Magister Raelee says the Empire would have taken over the town long ago if they wanted to.
 • Breshon says the Empire sent Sir Thadston and bets Chamorr shouted resist then too, but says if anything the Landing took him over. Chamorr affirms that he did and Breshon says now he eats at his table and his friends cured his sister Larsya. Breshon says he's threatening to resist progress and peace and tells him to be mindful of his words since they hold influence over those who might look to him as their protector, champion, or voice.
 • After extended discussion, Bristenn vouches for the character of Earl Jovery and Breshon backs him up, saying he sees this as a move to ensure that the Earl has more of a voice, connection, and presence in the Landing.

Speaking heartily to Bristenn, Chamorr says, "Ahhh, a benevolent dictator."
Bristenn simply corrects, "An ally."
Faerinn says, "The message here might be made far clearer if boots were being served at this table."

Awaiting and Awaiting

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see an engraved fel trunk, the Gregorix disk, the Teryval disk, an enruned fel chest, an acid-pitted silver box, a sturdy silver trunk, an engraved thanot box, the Zosopage disk, the Taziah disk, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, the Feenyreene disk, a band, the Opalina disk, the Berost disk, the Piptin disk, a spotted great horned owl, the Hleef disk, the Chamorr disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, some stone benches with some stuff on it and an herbal remedy donation bin.

Lazaryth says, "If he's not ready for us soon, I might have to kill something just to stay awake."

Leafiara coyly says, "At this rate, maybe Breshon meant breakfast."

Tsarok quietly says, "Might have to go to the Helden arena."

Lazaryth asks, "It's quite late. Who eats this late? Is this a nobility thing?"

Cryheart says, "You can go kick the statue."

Speaking pleasedly to Tsarok, Leafiara says, "Now there's an idea."

Pietra asks, "Nothing like a little fisticuffs to whet your appetite for dinner, right?"

Speaking to Tsarok, Pietra says, "I knew I liked you the most."

Lazaryth says, "I think I'd prefer a nice glass of port to some fisticuffs."

Speaking quietly to Pietra, Tsarok says, "Awe shucks, Pie."

Speaking quickly to Lazaryth, Leafiara says, "Not me."

Speaking to Leafiara, Lazaryth says, "No, you're a fighter, not a drinker."

Speaking softly to Pukk, Opalina says, "It's been a while since I've seen you in Icemule."

Speaking to Opalina, Pukk says, "I was up there today for a little bit...then I was hassled into taking a group of people back here..."

Lyrna just arrived.

Pukk recites:

"Everybody kiss Lyrna!"

Lazaryth amusedly says, "Mhm."

Zaneon gives Sarlena a lingering kiss on the cheek.

Bernadette gives Lyrna a friendly hug.

Chamorr gives Lyrna a friendly hug.

Speaking softly to Sarlena, Zaneon says, "You are the sweetest thing to taste."

Speaking to Bernadette, Pukk says, "Kiss....kiss...not a hug."

Speaking amusedly to Lyrna, Leafiara says, "Well, close enough, I guess."

Speaking to Opalina, Zosopage says, "He doesn't like staying up there too long. He gets whacked around on the ice all the time."

Speaking softly to Zaneon, Sarlena says, "Yer most tasty buts...issa lolly."

Speaking softly to Zosopage, Opalina says, "It's a slippery place."

Sarlena beams happily at a sugar-swirled rainbow unicorn lollipop in her hand.

Pukk gives Leafiara a lingering kiss.

Sarlena licks her rainbow unicorn lollipop.

Speaking frankly to Lyrna, Leafiara says, "We're wondering if Breshon found other business to attend to or what."

Pukk says, "Oooh marshmallows." (Leafi's lipgloss)

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I want to kiss you all over for another reason now."

Cryheart blows expertly across his flute, drawing forth a merry, joyful trill.

Speaking to Lyrna, Pukk exclaims, "Too late for my kisses...Leafi got first dibs!"

Speaking to Cryheart, Lazaryth says, "I didn't know you were a man of music."

Cryheart says, "It helps concentration and relaxation."

Cryheart's fingers skip lightly along the length of his flute, conveying a cheery melody.

Leafiara paces back and forth.

Caelaran says, "I suppose that counts."

Chamorr heartily says, "Well."

Lyrna says, "Patience, love."

Speaking to Chamorr, Pukk says, "Deep subject."

Speaking concernedly to Lyrna, Leafiara says, "I know, I'm just worried."

Speaking to Lyrna, Leafiara frets, "This coud be literally anything."

Lyrna says, "Including nothing."

Speaking tentatively to Lyrna, Leafiara says, "Oh, no, it's not Jovery himself for nothing."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Maybe their plan is to starve us into submission."

Zosopage says, "We'll all have headaches from lack of food."

Stormyrain says, "Love of all things."

Speaking firmly to Sarlena, Lazaryth says, "Sarlena." (she was organizing gems)

Sarlena softly says, "Ya kin stop tryin ta pulls me off."

Sarlena softly says, "Ah not gonna moves."

Chamorr heartily says, "Ok, I'll read all about it in the Crier tomorrow."

Speaking to Sarlena, Lazaryth says, "If you ever loved me, you'll find some other way to sort those things."

Zosopage says, "Or get a headache from watching Sarlena."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Stormyrain mutters, "Oh now you've doomed us all."

Speaking to Sarlena, Pietra asks, "Well maybe you could move slightly so we don't have to watch you playing with 100 gems?"

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara acknowledges, "I can sense a number of others calling it a night too."

Speaking to Sarlena, Geijon says, "Interesting stubborn stance there."

Chamorr heartily says, "Night folks."

Leafiara exclaims, "Night Bear!"

Evia says, "Bah."

Bernadette softly says, "Nite Bear."

Speaking to Chamorr, Zosopage says, "Night, Bear."

The sky is filled with a blanket of low clouds, pale and unmoving. Sounds seem muffled and the air feels thick and takes on a quiet stillness.

Leafiara curiously says, "Hm."

Chamorr heartily says, "Dammit."

Flakes of snow descend from the sky, flurrying about.

Gathering

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Cryheart!"

Opalina softly says, "Ohh snow."

Pukk yells, "About time!"

Felita says, "Imma be good."

Pukk says, "Crazy weather being late and all..."

Cryheart asks, "All set?"

Cryheart says, "Moving out."

[travel]

Breshon: "Good evening friends."

Leafiara: "Evenin' there!"

Shinann says, "Umm."

Xanthium: "Good evening, Lord Breshon."

Lylia: "Good evening to you."

Lyrna: "Good evening."

[travel ends]

[Hendoran Outpost, Feast Hall]

A number of tables and chairs are set against the walls of the hall, waiting the next meal or well attended meeting. At the end of the hallway is a wide stairwell with two Imperial soldiers standing sentry at its base. Hendoran military banners decorate the stone walls along with flags of defeated enemies, a ragged Nalfein banner among them.

Cryheart says, "Here we be."

Speaking amusedly to Cryheart, Leafiara says, "I see you can run quick when food's on the line."

Pietra: "Where's the food?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Pukk says, "You have a small spring to your step...you have been drinking your warm milk I see."

Roelaren says, "Wow."

Roelaren says, "And ye are."

Nehor dryly notes, "I see the guests are arriving."

Cryheart grins at Pukk.

Cryheart says, "Indeed."

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "We were here first, but there's so many we might get scuffed sitting here."

Pukk asks, "Where is Owly!?"

Speaking uncomfortably to Raelee, Ifanna drawls, "Oi magester 'ow are ye farin' this evenin'."

Speaking to Cryheart, Pukk says, "You forgot to hold Owly's han.....wing."

Speaking sagely to Pukk, Leafiara reminds, "We'll fill whole bags for him."

Some Bourthian and Hendoran soldiers enter the hall, going about setting up a long wooden table with an assortment of food and drink along its extended surface.

Speaking politely to Opalina, Nehor asks, "Surprised to see me off the Isle?"

Speaking to Ifanna, Raelee says, "... that remains to be seen."

Speaking softly to Nehor, Opalina says, "Actually yes."

Lylia: "It is a fair evening, but not a good one until we are free of this blight, I fear."

Ifanna shyly mumbles, "Aye tha'."

Pukk yells, "You set the placement of the silverware wrong!"

Speaking approvingly to a long wooden table, Leafiara says, "Hm."

Raelee adds, "... and greeting..."

Speaking to Nehor, Faerinn says, "I made it back."

Pietra says, "Mmm."

Leafiara musingly says, "Well, here goes nothing."

Lyrna says, "This is good."

Speaking disapprovingly to Faerinn, Nehor asks, "Done stealing the finery then?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk exclaims, "This is wrong! Owly is supposed to be here! I think this is a conspiracy to keep Owly from seeing through the deception by the imps! Owly is our sage in such matters!"

Speaking to Nehor, Faerinn says, "I left enough for the party."

Pietra: "Found the food."

Breshon: "I will be along to the Outpost's Feast Hall shortly. Larsya is demanding a story before bed."

Faerinn asks, "This is a party right?"

Cryheart says, "Dinner."

Speaking to Xanthium, Nehor confides, "He went away a bit to 'explore', as he so named his base theivery."

Speaking amusedly to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Something like that."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "I stocked my knapsack, if you need something."

Tsarok quietly says, "Imma get hammered."

Roelaren says, "Ahhh look at all of that."

Evia says, "By the time our host arrives all of the feast shall have been eatin."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Now, I have it covered."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium asks, "You're a thief now?"

Cryheart: "Tell a grand story about knights and dragons."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I think Owly will like that." (Leafi grabbed a bunch of grilled manticore for him)

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara agrees, "Right?!"

Geijon asks, "Lord Breshon is this evening's host?"

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Naw, these were public plates."

Roelaren: "I see, yes, she is most important. Agree with cryheart."

Evia: "Or the tale of the Hundred Year courtship."

Breshon wanders in.

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "I believe you. You always mind your manners, after all."

Speaking amusedly to Madmountan, Leafiara recalls, "He has actual meat thiis time."

Guarrin: "Why, Evia, who is that story about? It certainly sounds interesting."

Roelaren says, "Ello sir."

Bristenn neutrally greets, "Lord Caulfield."

Cryheart says, "Hello Lord Breshon."

Lylia: "One hundred years is not uncommon for some rather reticent Elves."

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "Howdy."

Speaking shyly to Breshon, Ifanna mumbles, "M'laird."

Faerinn says, "Oh, I see that they brought the spread from the kitchen out here."

Evia: "Or an exceptionally long lived Sir Cryheart..."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "See. He has his feathers on the right side. Literally and symbolically."

Breshon says, "I read her a story of a noble human knight who courted a Vornavian princess. It's 300 chapters and spans three decades."

Breshon smirks at Cryheart.

Speaking to Breshon, Pietra says, "You read fast."

Lyrna asks, "All that in 5 minutes?"

Felita says, "Oo thasa good story."

Breshon says, "No. We only covered the prologue."

Breshon chuckles.

Speaking to Breshon, Xanthium says, "...that sounds like a bit of a slog."

Breshon bows.

Speaking deeply to Cryheart, Guarrin says, "A long story, but worth telling."

Speaking to Goldstr, Pukk says, "Take all pets outside."

Breshon says, "Thank you all for joining me."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Interesting. I have business in Wyrwood and its roundabouts."

Speaking simply to Lylia, Nehor notes, "I see you made it safely."

Cryheart says, "Ye be welcome, Lord Breshon."

Speaking to Breshon, Deavon says, "She is a charmer."

Cryheart says, "Thank ye for the invite."

Lylia warmly says, "How good to see you again, Lord Breshon. Thank you for the invitation."

Xanthium asks, "Yes? What sort?"

Madmountan says, "Can't fail to come to a dinner table."

Speaking to Pukk, Goldstr says, "My pet be at home."

Breshon says, "I know the hour is late, but the Outpost never sleeps."

Breshon says, "Not with..."

Breshon glances out a nearby window to the south.

Breshon says, "While he sits in the Deadfall."

Lylia whispers something to Shinann.

Roelaren says, "So good."

Speaking to Breshon, Goldstr asks, "Ye's meanin Stone?"

Nehor whispers something to Xanthium.

Breshon pours himself a cup of rich black coffee.

Breshon nods at Goldstr.

Breshon says, "Indeed."

Breshon sits at a table, amongst the crowd.

Breshon takes a drink from his black coffee.

Evia says, "To our host."

Evia raises her dark Selanthia merlot in a toast!

Speaking to Lazaryth, Pukk says, "Just sitting on the ground...."

Roelaren says, "Hear hear."

Ifanna whispers something to Bristenn.

Xanthium whispers something to Nehor.

Jovery's News

Breshon says, "I would like to think dinner with me is enticing enough to bring so many..."

Lylia adds, "To your health."

Nehor whispers something to Opalina.

Lazaryth says, "No need to stand, everyone." (OOC: was a bit more complex since the chairs couldn't actually be sat in)

Breshon says, "But I am sure you have heard, the Earl has sent word to me."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn whispers aloud, "As always the best stuff is what the servants set aside in the kitchen."

Madmountan says, "The food doesn't hurt."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Can't take him anywhere."

Cryheart says, "Something of that."

Roelaren says, "Indeed Sir."

Breshon turns toward Lylia and renders a sharp salute with his black coffee.

Breshon says, "To our health."

Speaking smoothly to Breshon, Nehor admits, "Lady Roe here talked up the fare you served at your table quite a bit whilst we waited your coming."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "I understand Lord Breshon here hunts much of what is served here, himself."

Roelaren says, "To our health."

Breshon takes a drink from his black coffee.

Lylia agrees, "And to the health of all those who withstand this blight, may it come to a swift end."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Manticore is on the menu."

Berost deeply says, "No ale, no whiskey, no stout."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "I'm sure he shot it himself."

Roelaren says, "Hear hear."

Evia says, "Ready to do anything I can to end it."

Berost deeply says, "Cant be toastin."

Zosopage says, "To all we have lost."

Evia says, "Except eat mystery stew."

Breshon says, "I am pleased to say tonight will see no one banished or spurs removed or crown scars burned into necks."

Breshon says, "...I was not here for that, but I've heard stories."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Oh...."

Leafiara relievedly says, "Oh, that's a surprise."

Leafiara hurriedly says, "I mean, uh."

Umbazi says, "That is a relief."

Speaking concernedly to Xanthium, Nehor asks, "Is..burning a thing here? Was that a possibility?"

Madmountan says, "You can look at my neck if you wanna see what that looks like."

Lyrna asks, "That was a danger?"

Speaking to Nehor, Xorus says, "Oh, yes."

Pietra says, "Such a strange party, then."

Speaking offhandedly to Lyrna, Leafiara says, "Yep."

Breshon says, "But there is something that..."

Breshon rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn whispers aloud, "He needs weapons to bring down a manticore?"

Breshon says, "An adjustment, if you will. A measure of..."

Breshon rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "I believe he's being dramatic. But we'll see."

Chamorr heartily says, "The other shoe."

Breshon places his coffee aside, not finishing it.

Speaking to Nehor, Lylia says, "You never met Davard."

Breshon pours himself a mug of ginger mead.

Breshon takes a drink from his ginger mead.

Speaking to Nehor, Faerinn says, "Your magic hand is doing the thing again."

Breshon takes a drink from his ginger mead.

Breshon slowly empties his lungs.

Nehor whispers something to Lylia.

Felita says, "Lotta nice choices."

Pukk whispers something to Lylia.

Guarrin whispers something to Geijon.

Breshon says, "It is my understanding there exists some vacancies within the town council. One in particular is the role once served by former imperial Pylasar. The position was a regional envoy that represented the Landing and its interests in various matters with other locations."

Lylia whispers something to Pukk.

Evia says, "Aah yes."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Not everyone is quite as gifted at brawling and stumbling at the same time as you, Faerinn."

Geijon whispers something to Guarrin.

Lylia says, "A number of vacancies, yes."

Breshon says, "While the danger of Raznel has passed, at least with the ending of her life, the last several years have not been kind to the Landing and Empire."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Fair. Mother called it dancing."

Breshon says, "Grishom Stone brews in the southern Trollfang beyond a living forest of darkness..."

Speaking quietly to herself, Raelee mutters, "... it is not entirely passed."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Your mother sounds like a kind woman."

Opalina softly asks, "Still?"

Cryheart says, "May he get stuck with thorns."

Nehor lightly quips, "I hear they also haven't had a decent play in an age. Which, compared to all the other horrors, is the true tragedy."

Breshon says, "An Ithzir-human boy dwells in a mountain of immense power that has been a focus point for many..."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "She always encouraged stringed instruments. The more strings the better. Always have a garrote."

Breshon says, "Danger exists, it always will."

Lazaryth says, "Rodnay."

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "Just so."

Breshon says, "The Empire and the Landing have had their issues, primarily caused by rogue elements, on both sides. A shame, really. We both have so much to offer each other."

Speaking to Breshon, Pukk asks, "A mountain of immense power...so can the dwarves mine the power from the mountain?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "I was often told during my 'prenticeship that not quite builds character like toe shoes."

Madmountan says, "I eagerly await the punchline."

Breshon says, "I think it's time the latter take shape more than the past."

Faerinn says, "Institutional rogue elements."

Speaking quietly to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Torture devices and a makeshift sap, really."

Pietra says, "Rogue elements are the best kind, though."

Lyrna asks, "Meaning?"

Lylia replies, "All the more reason that we should have these chats more often."

Xorus whispers something to Lylia.

Speaking to Pietra, Pukk says, "Always people blaming rogues."

Lylia says, "So many misunderstandings come from distance and silence."

Lylia whispers something to Xorus.

Opalina softly says, "Just cuz we are mischievous and get into places we shouldn't."

Speaking to Breshon, Soneiken exclaims, "You call the Edict a Rogue Concept, headed by a few wayward souls. Nonsense!" (I assume referring to Chaston's Edict)

Breshon says, "Since Wehnimer's Landing is in fact a protectorate of the Empire, and will remain operating with its freedoms, the Northern Sentinel Earl Jovery has spoken with the Hall of Mages and an agreement has been made that someone from the Hall will be placed as the newest councilman on the Landing Town Council to fill the spot left by Pylasar, of Regional Envoy."

Madmountan says, "Oh."

Leafiara says, "Always the Hall..."

Xorus says, "Unsurprising."

Nehor interestedly says, "I see. A councilman appointed by the empire."

Berost deeply says, "More magickers."

Bernadette softly says, "Ahh."

Breshon says, "He or she will serve as a direct connection to the Empire, a voice, a champion, for both sides. To better build our relationship and not let our future be defined or controlled by rogue actors."

Faerinn says, "Like Prelates of Koar." (referring to Chaston Griffin)

Faerinn says, "Such rogues."

Berost deeply says, "Or to try an steer our council actions more in line with what they be gettin told by the empire."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk asks, "So, an imp on town council?"

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "The Councilmen here are normally chosen by those expending energy to the defense and economic and social needs of the city."

Speaking wryly to Pukk, Leafiara says, "Apparently."

Speaking deeply to Breshon, Berost says, "Either or ya know."

Speaking carefully to Xanthium, Nehor asks, "A poor situation, but sometimes a people must be protected from poor decision making no?"

Cryheart says, "Opening the door to allow for better understanding is a good thing as I see it."

Xanthium whispers something to Nehor.

Lylia says, "A more powerful Town Council? This is an interesting concept, but it addresses only one of many vacancies, and the Council has long held a great deal of power as it is."

Speaking softly to Breshon, Opalina asks, "Who did they have in mind?"

Breshon says, "In addition, while I know there will be further discussions and collaboration on working to attack this blight, the appointment of the Regional Envoy will also bring aid from the Empire."

Speaking softly to Breshon, Opalina asks, "Did they say yet?"

Bernadette softly says, "As long as it helps."

Lazaryth noncommittally says, "Mm."

Speaking lightly to Nehor, Xanthium asks, "Is that what you tell yourself?"

Nehor idly inquires, "And how much of this aid will come in the form of increased military presence?"

Breshon says, "To help the Landing, to help those hungry, those still suffering, those needing homes, whatever may be needed."

Chamorr heartily says, "Carrot, now what's the stick."

Breshon says, "No increased military presence outside of what exists here within the Outpost."

Speaking to Lylia, Pukk asks, "Are they trying to usurp the power of the mayoral office?"

Nehor skeptically murmurs, "Mmm. I see."

Breshon says, "The other vacant council spots will remain appointed by the Mayor. I believe an election is coming soon."

Lylia smoothly counters, "I prefer to think of it as an exchange of goods and services than as 'aid.' The Landing has prospered, until Raznel decided to afflict it as she has."

Speaking to Pukk, Faerinn says, "Wouldn't be the first time. Doubt it's the last."

Breshon says, "Exchange is a fair term."

Breshon nods at Lylia.

Pukk mutters figures.

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Can he do that."

Xanthium says, "It's more flexible. As some have found out."

Pukk exclaims, "If Owly was allowed in he would surely have plenty to say about that!"

Berost deeply says, "Lovely how more help be offered after we already did all tha hard work of killin tha threat."

Lyrna says, "Actually, I do believe they've been working to help with the blight for a while."

Lyrna says, "If not the actual threat."

Lylia says, "Can he? Why, yes. As an Imperial protectorate, our town is not a sovereign nation."

Nehor notes, "I believe the Landing has also of late been supplied from other sources as well, at least with foodstuffs. I cannot speak to any other aid of a...killing nature...that has been received or not."

Breshon says, "I'm optimistic. I know there's been challenges and concerns in the past."

Xanthium says, "Many of the knights here were killed and maimed by the witch's tricks and plagues."

Speaking heartily to Lyrna, Chamorr says, "They are workin to keep the blight here and away from the Empire."

Breshon says, "Hopefully this can help change some of that."

Madmountan says, "I'm surprisingly not even mad about this. Yet."

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "You betchya."

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "You may not be aware, Lord Breshon, of just what a perilous role our Town Council members play."

Breshon asks, "Are you Happymountan then?"

Breshon peers quizzically at Madmountan.

Breshon smirks.

Breshon winks.

Speaking to Lylia, Pukk asks, "Are you saying our town belongs to the imps now?"

Lylia says, "Why, one is in hiding, one is an accursed orc who has lost his reason, one has 'retired' under highly suspect circumstances..."

Giant OOC tangent on the town council! Click "Expand" on the right!

(I assume the last is Beldrin, driven into resigning by Mother in some unknown deal due to his loyalties to older Rook ways. My understanding is that he still has power until someone replaces him, but that's somewhat vague. At a bit of a stretch, Pylasar or--in a bigger stretch--Thadston could also fit that description.

The second is Thrayzar, though he's not known to be alive in an IC sense. (Of course, many characters including mine do assume he is.) His position too is a bit vague; as the militia marshal he was clearly a town council member, but when he was absent, Thadston was appointed interim marshal in his place. However, after bringing Thrayzar back, it seemed that Thadston still had the power anyway.

I'm a bit unclear on who Lylia means by the one in hiding, because the nebulous status of Beldrin/Thrayzar/Thadston/Pylasar means she could be talking about exclusively former council members--essentially a warning to Breshon that Jovery doesn't understand what he's getting this Hall representative into--or all council members past and present.

If exclusively former members, then I have no idea who the one in hiding is.

If including current members, then that could be any of the four latest ones: Pylasar, Thadston, Beldrin (if the "retired" one is Pylasar or Thadston), or Alendrial DeArchon. My first thought was definitely that she meant Alendrial, who had gone into hiding following Rone's destruction of the DeArchons' house. However, that was about a year and a half ago and it's not clear to me that she's still in hiding, especially considering that she coordinated with Thadston on town evacuation.

Of course, there's always the ongoing theory some characters have that Alendrial is Mother--again, having been the previous short-lived "Mother"--which would indeed mean she's, in a sense, "hiding." (However, I don't know idea whether Lylia is one of those characters, or even merely willing to play into those who are.))

Madmountan says, "Ambivalentmountan."

Speaking to Chamorr, Lyrna asks, "Well, I can hardly blame them for not wanting to see it spread further south, but they are helping to get rid of it as well. No?"

Felita says, "What about the children."

Breshon begins chuckling at Madmountan!

Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "The survival rate of the job is very low."

Speaking heartily to Lyrna, Chamorr says, "Have you seen any results of that."

Speaking to Lylia, Soneiken says, "The Town Council is first and foremost 'Town' why have an outsider from another city, another region, represent their agenda in our Council. Tis not what is intended for. It becomes something else when you populate it with outside interests; this is a Bad idea for Your landing."

Raelee quietly murmurs, "... the blight will not spread south even if we walk away and do nothing."

Speaking curiously to Raelee, Nehor asks, "And what do you know of it? Have you and your magisters sussed out its properties entirely then?"

Speaking to Soneiken, Faerinn says, "Trust me this conversation just gets more and more depressing the more you have it."

Opalina softly says, "I don't know sometimes an outside point of view can help bring balance."

Speaking evenly to Nehor, Raelee says, "I do believe Lord Breshon is speaking."

Breshon says, "Oh, I'm finished."

Breshon chuckles.

Speaking to Soneiken, Geijon says, "Interestingly, precedent has already preceded this discussion. A Hall member already served on the Council. I could probably find th' announcement. I suppose we can all have a robust discussion, but it's already happened before."

Nehor smoothly counters, "Then try not to interrupt him."

Questions

Breshon asks, "Did anyone have any questions?"

Raelee narrows her eyes and gives Breshon a dirty look.

Speaking to Soneiken, Faerinn says, "I've been having it for two decades now and it just gets more and more blatant."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk exclaims, "Yeah!"

Pukk makes a face by pushing up his nose up with a forefinger and sticking out his tongue.

Shiril whispers something to Raelee.

Speaking to Breshon, Hleef asks, "Will there be dessert?"

Breshon smirks at Hleef.

Lyrna says, "There has been work done on it."

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr asks, "Who is it?"

Breshon says, "I do not know yet."

Breshon says, "I suspect they will announce that in the coming days."

Using his silver fork, Faerinn takes a bite of his custard tart.

Speaking to Geijon, Soneiken says, "Well, what about other neigboring states, like MY Kharam Dzu, we are friends of the Landing, do we get to be represented as well, or will you value the southerners above all else."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Brilliant, you are. I just stick to the fiinger food."

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "Which one of this great hall is gonna run things here."

Breshon says, "I oversee the Outpost currently."

Breshon nods at Chamorr.

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "I bring my own kit. Its easier that way."

Nehor whispers something to Xanthium.

Speaking to himself, Pukk says, "Oh if Happy was here he would love this tart..."

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "There is one point of order, though, if we are to discuss the installation of an Imperial citizen as a member of the Wehnimerian Town Council."

Breshon says, "I do not know who will be appointed to the Envoy Council position."

Breshon peers quizzically at Lylia.

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "Who ya stickin on the council."

Lylia says, "Citizenship."

Breshon shrugs at Chamorr.

Breshon says, "I am sure they will announce it within days."

(OOC) Stormyrain's player whispers to the group, "Lmao."

(OOC) Stormyrain's player whispers to the group, "DO NOT GIVE HIM IDEAS."

Lylia says, "The mayor must be a citizen. Thadston took the role once he became a citizen of the Landing too, not when he was Sir Thadston."

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr asks, "And if we refuse this generous offer?"

Breshon says, "It isn't an offer."

Breshon grins at Chamorr.

Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn asks, "So no foreign titles?"

Faerinn says, "I like it."

Speaking approvingly to Xanthium, Nehor whispers aloud, "This one doesn't mince words."

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "It's the boot of the empire once again on our necks."

Speaking to Chamorr, Pukk says, "Let me eat my fill before you start the war..."

Lylia continues, "Unless you are suggesting that citizenship in the Landing and citizenship in the Empire are one and the same, which I do not think you want, any more than I do...or we do..."

Pietra asks, "So a mage, a human, an imperial citizen, oh who ever could it be?"

Zosopage says, "As long as they agree that the council has the final say and they are only on the council to offer suggestions and point of views."

Speaking quietly to Chamorr, Morofinwe says, "Round and round it goes like always."

Speaking to Soneiken, Geijon says, "Probably represented by th' Trade councilmember. The Landing is a protectorate of the human empire. Everyone has allies, one hopes, of many natures."

Breshon says, "I am sure a dual citizenship of sorts or loyalty pledge or something to appease the requirements of the role can be established. The entire appointment itself is outside of what has been done historically before. So it is new territory."

Breshon says, "But I think it will be good territory."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk says, "You're going to be the new council member aren't you."

Speaking to Pukk, Raelee says, "I would hope that whoever is making this appointment would know better than to do that."

Breshon asks, "The council votes, doesn't it still?"

Lylia mildly says, "Yes, it is new territory."

Speaking to Raelee, Xanthium says, "Another thing to thwart your work."

Breshon says, "One position does not control the entire council."

Umbazi asks, "Isn't the Magister a Solhaven citizen?"

Lylia says, "The Council has long overridden the mayoral office."

Madmountan says, "You know, sometimes when Breshon talks, I can tell he doesn't believe himself. Or he's just delivering a message for his father or whatever. But I think he actually believes this, this time."

Lylia says, "One position holds veto power over the Council."

Speaking to Breshon, Pukk says, "Imps should not hold a vote at all."

Faerinn says, "More frontiers for the frontier. A great combination."

Raelee says, "...it is not me."

Xorus wryly asks, "I trust that the appointee will not be arresting any of the other council members at meetings?"

Nehor whispers something to Lylia.

Speaking to Xorus, Pukk says, "They will arrest any who dissent from the imps' prerogatives."

Evia says, "Because of course the town council members have a history of absolutely sterling reputations."

Evia raises her voice in merry laughter.

Pukk says, "Oooh corn."

Pukk helps himself to a grilled ear of corn.

Madmountan says, "Just seems like he's not merely blowing smoke this time. Granted, he doesn't KNOW since he doesn't even know who the appointment is going to. But I think he thinks this is a legitimate relationship. Sorry to talk about you so brusquely in front of you, Breshon."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Get some corn for Owly."

Breshon chuckles.

Breshon says, "It's fine. I have a sister."

Madmountan snickers.

Speaking to Evia, Lazaryth says, "Unfortunately, the traits that make a person want to enter politics seem exactly the traits that make them a poor politician."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Nehor asks, "What is wrong with the desire to serve the people, friend?"

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "Have you spoken to Chamberlain Retassal about this? It is, of course, not for Ta'Vaalor to decide on affairs here either, but they may see this press of an Imperial Town Council member as a rather...minatory gesture toward their own holdings not far from here, small though they are."

Speaking to Breshon, Goldstr asks, "How be Larsya? She happy now a days?"

Speaking to Nehor, Lazaryth says, "Ah, yes. The desire to serve the people."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk asks, "So the elves will have a say too?"

Stormyrain just left.

Speaking to Lazaryth, Nehor explains, "Surely the desire to help the common folk make decisions is a noble one. After all, one does not leave sheep to just...run amuk."

Lylia says, "We would, of course, wish to ensure that all of our acquaintances and neighbors are likewise pleased with these arrangements, and that they understand the nature of our delicate position here."

Lyrna says, "Hopefully not."

Breshon nods at Goldstr.

Speaking wryly to Pukk, Leafiara says, "Hopefully it doesn't come to that, no, but at this point it seems anything can happen."

Breshon says, "She is happy yes."

Pukk exclaims, "See, Stormy is so upset she left!"

Roelaren says, "I should hope not."

The voice of Cruxophim interestedly interjects, "Did someone say... serving people?"

Lyrna says, "At least, not a House."

Breshon says, "I have not."

Breshon looks over at Lylia and shakes his head.

Evia says, "I am curious however, why this cannot be more simply a position of Special Envoy TO the town council and not a voting council member, but I am no political expert."

Leafiara whispers something to Pukk.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Nehor drawls, "You keep popping up this even."

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "It depends on who all are content to be seen and treated as sheep."

Speaking to Breshon, Goldstr says, "Goods to her."

Speaking politely to Breshon, Bristenn interrupts, "No other word from Lolle and the Sentinel then, my lord?"

Pukk takes a bite of his ear of corn.

Speaking to Goldstr, Pukk says, "Almost finished, then you can start the war with the imps."

Speaking to Xanthium, Nehor says, "Those who prove they are able to govern themselves tend not to need the shepherds hand. Alas, too few show to be such a person."

Breshon says, "No other word at this time."

Breshon nods at Bristenn.

Bristenn nods understandingly at Breshon.

Breshon says, "I believe I know what you..."

Breshon says, "Are inquiring about."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Pukk says, "Turns out Lylia is allowing them to put a imp on the council."

Breshon says, "I have heard nothing of..."

Guarrin deeply says, "I'm certain the mayor will be able to ...navigate ...welcoming this appointment."

Breshon nods at Bristenn.

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "Shepherds rarely mistreat their charges. They just leave the fractious ones for the wolves to find."

Speaking affably to Pukk, Cruxophim notes, "Oh, good. Could use some change."

Breshon says, "The discovery of that particular paragon."

Bristenn measuredly agrees, "Rather, that."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Pukk exclaims, "I don't know you anymore!"

Breshon says, "Delicate matters move slow sometimes."

Speaking quietly to Pukk, Lylia suggests, "Perhaps you would like to rephrase that."

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "I can recite aphorisms as long and well as you can."

Berost deeply says, "Jest sayin, a good ale or whiskey would make this announcement go over a whole lot better ...."

Speaking to Xanthium, Nehor says, "A poor shepherd soon finds themselves without a flock, this is truth."

Disputes

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "This does not cut it, a number of folks in town will not accept this power play by the empire."

Breshon whispers something to Bristenn.

Speaking to Lylia, Zosopage says, "Should this not work, I'm sure you'll be able to deal with it."

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "You don't say."

Breshon peers quizzically at Chamorr.

Bristenn nods once at Breshon.

Breshon says, "It is not a power play."

Speaking pointedly to Nehor, Xanthium says, "...Flockmaster."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Some might even say he's a few dozen apohorisms in a coatee trying to sneak into a dirty play."

Speaking quietly to Breshon, Morofinwe says, "It's always a power play."

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "Bullshirt."

Breshon says, "And I know there may be some initial strong reactions, especially given the past."

Breshon says, "Dennet alone has tainted the water for ages."

Faerinn says, "This is literally how every power play starts."

Speaking amusedly to Breshon, Leafiara says, "Right, appointing someone to one of the most powerful positions in the Landing isn't a power play."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Well, who could blame him. It's been sold out forever."

Breshon says, "But the future is bright and promising."

Cruxophim nonchalantly muses, "What are we fretting about now?"

Breshon says, "We have much to gain from each other."

Lylia smoothly says, "Thank you, but I am certain it is not a matter of anything 'working.' Merely of hammering out how best to ensure continuity of leadership in the Landing as an open port and a prosperous one, or at least one that was tending in that direction until the blight from the Kestrel woman."

Madmountan says, "Taint."

Leafiara says, "I understand you're just the messenger, but it's certainly a power play."

Breshon says, "And our enemy is the same."

Speaking to Nehor, Pukk says, "I'm sure you can make a play about how the town leaders gave the town away to the imps without the consent of its citizens."

Breshon glances out the window again to the south.

Chamorr heartily says, "RESIST."

Speaking to Pukk, Lylia asks, "Gave away?"

Speaking calmly to Cruxophim, Nehor informs, "The Empire is appointing a councilman to the Landing Council. It seems they are making their interests more...direct."

Raelee quietly mentions, "... if the Empire truly wanted to take over this town, they would have done so long ago."

Bernadette softly asks, "Ye spectin sometin?"

Pietra says, "Uh oh, you're in trouble now."

Raelee mutters something about easily.

Speaking quietly to Chamorr, Morofinwe says, "Let me know when to draw steel. It's always the same noise."

Speaking to Raelee, Faerinn says, "They did. It's a slow burn."

Speaking to Raelee, Nehor says, "One very rarely takes over a protectorate. Those tend to already be in hand."

Breshon points at Raelee.

Cryheart says, "Folks let us remember we hae a mutual threat to bot the Landing and the Empire...Stone."

Xanthium says, "Once a garrison moves in..."

Morofinwe quietly says, "Oh. Imagine that. My steel is drawn."

Faerinn says, "We're frogs in a soup only realizing too late we've been boiled for the last two decades."

Pukk whispers, "I think the mayor is going to kill me, I hope you have a chrism."

Bernadette softly says, "Always be onna look out."

Faerinn says, "Seemed like a relaxing bath at first."

Speaking offendedly to Faerinn, Nehor says, "Do not include me in your common analogies, sirrah. I am no frog."

Morofinwe quietly says, "It's always the same noise, always the same thing from the Imperials."

Lylia silkily says, "Yes. Stone. The threat to end all threats, the threat that makes others acquiesce, if I may use that bitter word, to whatever anyone wishes out of fear of him."

Speaking to Raelee, Goldstr says, "And we all would have fought till all our deaths and no Landing."

Speaking to Lylia, Soneiken asks, "As constructed, the South would gain more leverage by knowing the Landing's affairs first, perhaps a better compromise would be to have a Landing Emissary on their inner court as well, so there is an equitable pass of information both to and from the South, instead of just from here to there, that seems one sided and self serving for them?"

Lazaryth says, "..I doubt anything is just being realized for the first time now. Surely."

Breshon asks, "The Empire sent Sir Thadston...Chamorr shouted resist, I bet, didn't you?"

Faerinn says, "Now manticore bits and onions were being thrown in, but it's a mutual agreement."

Breshon peers quizzically at Chamorr.

Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "Convenient."

Breshon says, "If anything, you took over him."

Breshon chuckles.

Madmountan says, "We kinda did."

Speaking dryly to Goldstr, Raelee says, "And then you would be dead."

Xorus says, "It is customary for a protectorate to not independently conduct its foreign relations regardless."

Breshon says, "I came with Bourthians to aid the Hendorans after their loss to the Ithzir..."

Lyrna says, "Landing does have a way of getting to one."

Lazaryth says, "I don't believe anything could take over Thadston."

Breshon mock chants, "Resist!"

Breshon begins chuckling at Chamorr!

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "Indeed I did."

Breshon says, "Yet you eat now at my table."

Cruxophim wistfully muses, "I miss those blue bastards. They were tasty."

Nehor amusedly declares, "Oh I have heard that word much of late."

Breshon says, "And your friends cured my sister."

Pukk says, "Because you have good food."

Madmountan says, "Maybe we should be feeding this guy instead of the other way around."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Xanthium says, "...you aren't talking about frogs."

Speaking evasively to Xanthium, Cruxophim notes, "Oh. Right. Surely I was."

Melikor whispers something to Xanthium.

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "Fattenin the calf afore the slaughter."

Speaking to Melikor, Xanthium asks, "Why didn't he ever come over for dinner?"

Breshon says, "The only thing you threaten to resist is progress and peace. So be mindful of your words. They hold influence over those in town who might look to you as someone who has their best interest in mind, who is their protector, their champion...their voice."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Melikor asks, "Why have you never come over for dinner?"

Breshon says, "Be a good voice."

Breshon nods at Chamorr.

Speaking thoughtfully to Melikor, Cruxophim suggests, "A fine question. Invite me?"

Speaking happily to Breshon, Nehor declares, "Hear hear, I say!"

Lylia asks, "What, precisely, is the point of having the Landing and its environs as a protectorate instead of the Barony of Darkstone, I wonder?"

Speaking to Breshon, Madmountan asks, "You ever considered a career in motivational speaking?"

Speaking sincerely to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I understand what the Rooks meant now."

Speaking amusedly to Pukk, Leafiara asks, "Only now?"

Speaking to Cruxophim, Melikor says, "I will let the lady of the house know."

Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "Darkstone, at a guess."

Breshon grins at Madmountan.

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "Indeed, a voice against the imperial rule and a voice for all to be free."

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "I would be interested in hearing that myself. I have wondered about it."

Speaking silkily to Madmountan, Cruxophim remarks, "I feel a stirring in my loins. So to speak."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "About this...yes...I thought we would resist...not give in with no resistance." (Pukk's earlier comment was vague enough that Leafi somewhat blew it off, not knowing what specifically he meant, but at this point it's clear: Rysus says, "The only pain is watching you all lose your freedom..." Rysus says, "And you aren't even fighting for it..." Rysus says, "You're giving it up..." Rysus says, "Handing it over...")

Madmountan whispers something to Cruxophim.

Bristenn neutrally comments, "I could explain how it came to be. Why it remains is at the Northern Sentinel's decree."

Speaking sorrowfully to Cruxophim, Nehor says, "Alas, I did not mean to incite such passions when you were drawing me earlier."

Breshon says, "I do not envy your last few months, but I will do all I can to help communicate properly."

Breshon nods at Lylia.

Breshon agrees with Bristenn.

Leafiara whispers something to Pukk.

Speaking gruffly to Pukk, Ziostradh mutters, "Are you clear on what you're resisting against?"

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "I think Cruxophim is just like that. I mean, just look at him."

Madmountan asks, "Pukk being clear about something?"

Lylia says, "Then let me communicate directly to you."

Speaking incredulously to Ziostradh, Nehor says, "That one? He isn't clear on where he is, let alone what he's resisting."

Lyrna says, "There does seem to be a tendency to resist everything, on general principle."

Speaking tonelessly to Ziostradh, Pukk says, "Imps are imps...it's enough to know that."

Speaking to Lyrna, Lazaryth says, "It's most amusing."

Lylia says, "I believe there are many people who would rather burn the Landing to the ground and piss on the ashes than see it become essentially an Imperial town. I am not one of those people; I have, in fact, worked very hard not to see it burned."

Chamorr heartily says, "Outpost, wagons, pavillions, now the town council."

Speaking tiredly to Nehor, Ziostradh mutters, "I see."

Speaking to Breshon, Geijon mentions, "Your delivery was good and true, even Madmountan endorsed. There is known agitation over th' Empire here, but you know that."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Lyrna says, "In some ways, in others... it is simply confusing."

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "You and yours may need to give me something more to ensure that it does not burn, despite your efforts and mine."

Speaking to Breshon, Soneiken asks, "Do you think any in the southland resisted the edict? And by doing so, did they slow down evolution, prosperity. So you propose to not resist because why? You can't be wrong, is that it? Your South is Mistake free? A perfect civization that could help evolve us savages, is that what you imply?"

Nehor whispers something to Ziostradh.

Pietra casually says, "Unless it was about the poor part of town."

Speaking politely to Raelee, Cruxophim inquires, "How goes the research?"

Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "Invaded Glaoveln, killed Naimorai Kestrel, hunting down all her paragons across time..."

Madmountan says, "Trust me, I didn't expect to think it sounded like a halfway decent idea. But I know I can depose a garrison of soldiers if I need to. Let's see how it goes."

Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "Attended dinners like these..."

Speaking to Chamorr, Geijon says, "Interestingly in all th' wars we've had assistance from th' Empire on, they've likely lost more wagons than th' city has ever built. It goes hand in hand with some of the other comments that th' Empire has a general air of distance with th' Landing, but gives continues to send resources."

Bristenn slowly adds, "Though I've no mind to interfere in your politics, it does behoove me to remind you of Earl Eddric Jovery's character- a fair and even-handed man, one of his word, and of the highest order of honor." (Breshon comes to this later)

Speaking to Xanthium, Lylia murmurs, "You are angling to be my press agent as well as my emissary, my dear friend."

Speaking dryly to Cruxophim, Raelee asks, "Is that an attempt to shift the subject?"

Speaking to Lylia, Goldstr asks, "If I may? We do have Knights of da Empire da do be citizens of da Landing. Maybe one a dem be on Council?"

Speaking slowly to Raelee, Cruxophim ventures, "Is it working?"

Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "I think some reminders are in order, that's all."

Speaking heartily to Bristenn, Chamorr says, "Ahhh, a benevolent dictator."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Raelee says, "Only between you and I, I believe."

Evia says, "Hear hear."

Bristenn simply corrects, "An ally."

Speaking to Raelee, Lyrna says, "I find your chain of discussion more interesting as well."

Xanthium whispers something to Shiril.

Guarrin deeply reminds, "The same Earl who has sent aid many times."

Speaking clearly to Raelee, Cruxophim mutters, "The Blight."

Speaking to Raelee, Lyrna says, "I have been adding the earth nodes into my mapping." (she's working on studying how the blight disperrsed)

Speaking heartily to Guarrin, Chamorr says, "Always at a price."

Lylia says, "Absolutely, and I value our neighbors highly. So highly, in fact, that I have been called an 'Imperial loyalist' by someone who obviously never took one good look at me."

Nehor whispers something to Lylia.

Speaking deeply to Chamorr, Guarrin says, "There is always a price."

Lyrna says, "Based on some of the maps in the other room."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk asks, "I wonder how many of the town's problems originated from the empire?"

Speaking to Chamorr, Geijon asks, "Eh. What has he asked us to pay?"

Speaking smoothly to Lylia, Nehor soothes, "Ah but mistress Mayor, who could help but take as good a look on you as they are able!"

Guarrin deeply offers, "Perhaps we can see who the appointment is and trust our mayor to handle the politics of the situation."

Goldstr says, "Da Landin an da Empire as a whole have always been Allies. Jess suggestin a good solution."

Faerinn says, "Most of them."

Speaking to Lylia, Deavon says, "I am going to guess that... a lot of people are going to be knocking on your door."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Pull up a sheat and shtay awhile."

Faerinn says, "But now the problems are way more polite and serve dinner."

Madmountan says, "Compliments to the chef on the manticore."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Soneiken asks, "You what? You've been hording all da Blight seed and secretly planting it when no one's awake, really Crux?"

Lylia says, "Yet allies are not owners. They do not cut our meat for us, even if they have offered us a fair deal on the food."

Lyrna says, "Actually..."

Speaking to Lyrna, Raelee says, "... likewise."

Madmountan says, "You don't wanna know where Crux keeps his 'blight seed'."

Nehor idly muses, "The shepherd does not cut the meat for the lamb, this is true. Though often the meat is cut from them..."

Lyrna asks, "Did anyone do any noting of HOW the Blight spread?"

Faerinn says, "That line is thinning and the power grab is more blatant by the minute."

Lyrna asks, "Where it went and when?"

Conclusions

Breshon blinks. (OOC: was AFK a bit, I believe)

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "On the town council, soon enough, telling what meat we alllowed to eat."

Umbazi says, "Excellent questions. I would like to know myself."

Umbazi nods at Lyrna.

Speaking to Nehor, Pukk says, "I thought lambs ate oats."

Speaking to Madmountan, Soneiken says, "In a deep dark hole, I'm sure."

Speaking to Soneiken, Geijon says, "Mayor Lylia's tendency is one of elven ancestry in nature too by th' way."

Speaking surprisedly to Pukk, Nehor asks, "You...think?"

Speaking to Pukk, Evia says, "Mares eat oats."

Raelee quietly says, "... Magister Cordarius has decided that he would enjoy a public meeting on the subject of the blight."

Nehor skeptically says, "Doubtful."

Raelee dryly adds, "I will be present as well."

Speaking to Nehor, Pukk says, "You insinuated that lambs ate meat too."

Lylia says, "I see no reason, then, why we need an Imperial member of the Town Council. We can cut our own meat, although we welcome sharing a table with our neighbors and friends."

Speaking heartily to Pukk, Chamorr says, "Little lambs eat ivy."

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara asks, "Indeed. Still tomorrow night?"

Raelee nods slightly to Leafiara.

Speaking to Chamorr, Pukk says, "Ah..ivy."

Speaking to Pukk, Nehor dismisses, "Merely a turn of phrase, lad."

Speaking drunkenly to Kobant, Gutstorm says, "Cool beard."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kobant says, "I concur."

Breshon says, "I am sorry, where was I..."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Why did you not say that to him."

Speaking to Nehor, Pukk says, "Sure, cover up your ignorance as a "turn of phrase"."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Lyrna says, "If you have, that would help me correlate what I've been working on and maybe help figure out how the patterns were."

Breshon rubs his eyes.

Speaking to Breshon, Faerinn says, "In the Hendoran outpost."

Lyrna says, "Er, interacting."

Speaking fondly to Lyrna, Cruxophim agrees, "Certainly."

Raelee quietly says, "I believe the talk of politics and what not is likely to drown out any productive discussion of research."

Speaking to Lylia, Evia says, "As I mentioned earlier, I am uncertain why this position cannot simply be as a Special Envoy, not a council member."

Speaking to Breshon, Faerinn asks, "Do you remember that?"

Speaking to Chamorr, Lylia says, "I just did."

Breshon says, "I am tired. That danger to the south is always concerning."

Faerinn says, "Also the answer could be at dinner."

Breshon says, "I believe your research discussion is tomorrow eve, if not mistaken."

Breshon nods at Raelee.

Speaking casually to Raelee, Cruxophim inquires, "Is there to be a discussion of the Blight tomorrow eve?"

Speaking to Evia, Lylia says, "How very astute."

Speaking to Breshon, Raelee says, "Correct."

Speaking dismissively to Breshon, Cruxophim teases, "Get out of my head."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Well done then."

Nehor sympathetically says, "The demands of leadership can be exhausting."

Breshon says, "But yes, to touch on Sir Bristenn's comment..."

Breshon says, "The Earl is a kind and fair man."

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium asks, "Do you need a nap?"

Speaking vaguely to Xanthium, Nehor says, "More than you know, Emissary."

Breshon says, "If anything I see this as a move that helps to ensure he has more of a voice, a connection, a presence here."

Breshon says, "There's been too many rogue elements in the past, controlling the story out of Wehnimer's Landing."

Lylia says, "I have known him to be so too. Those who have voted for me in free and open elections have found me to be a fair and even-handed leader as well."

Speaking to Lyrna, Raelee says, "... I will be curious to see if any new patterns form around the nodes."

Speaking to Nehor, Xanthium says, "You could count some of those sheep from earlier."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Soneiken says, "Yes, it's tomorrow, dey invited all to see if anyone has any Blight ideas."

Guarrin whispers something to Geijon.

Pukk whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "He is kind and fair to his serfs and tenent farmers no doubt."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Lyrna says, "Perhaps I could meet with you tomorrow evening before the general meeting and I can show you what I've been working on and how things spread."

Speaking amusedly to Xanthium, Nehor says, "The ones not made into meat by dear Pukk here."

Breshon says, "You are not wearing a triskelion tabard right now because of the Earl."

Breshon nods at Chamorr.

Lyrna says, "They do seem to have an effect."

Speaking quietly to Nehor, Xanthium says, "You'll find out soon, when you can sleep."

Speaking interestedly to Lyrna, Cruxophim notes, "I should like that."

Geijon whispers something to Guarrin.

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "Who live and breathe at his beck and call."

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "And we are dining in this Hendoran outpost because of me."

Guarrin whispers something to Geijon.

Geijon whispers something to Guarrin.

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "Not just the Landing. Me. Personally. As a bargain I made, years ago."

Speaking drunkenly to Lylia, Gutstorm says, "Shpiffy choice."

Speaking to Breshon, Shinann asks, "You did say this person would be from the Hall, correct?"

Breshon nods at Shinann.

Bristenn nonchalantly mentions, "The Kingdom of Hendor's model of governing did provide the groundwork for much of the contemporary empire, to be fair."

Shinann nods slowly.

Pukk says, "I say Owly should be on the council too."

Lyrna says, "I'll put the maps back together so that you can see the overlays."

Faerinn says, "The message here might be made far clearer if boots were being served at this table."

Speaking nonchalantly to Breshon, Cruxophim offers, "I nominate Reannah."

Nehor says, "Perhaps one of the Magister Raelee's many good and dear friends."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium asks, "Thrassus' snake?"

Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "Can I be on da counshil?"

Guarrin whispers something to Geijon.

Speaking smoothly to Bristenn, Lylia says, "And the Elven nations, with the Faendryl at their fore, provided the groundwork for civilization itself."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Good."

Speaking threateningly to Shinann, Cruxophim mouths, "Nom nom nom."

Lylia says, "How wonderful that we recall history well."

A small area of Lazaryth's skin twitches oddly. (the lingering scarab moving about)

Guarrin whispers something to Geijon.

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "No, but a familiar treat for all the gathered Imperialists."

Speaking affably to Lazaryth, Cruxophim inquires, "May I?"

Xorus says, "If you consider something only a few centuries ago to be history."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Soneiken says, "Of course if you remember I already suggested to path to blight freedom is through the Maaghara."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Leafiara confides, "Trust me, he wishes you could."

Breshon rises to his feet.

Raelee whispers something to Breshon.

Speaking to Xorus, Nehor says, "Even recent history can be of value, sirrah."

Speaking interestedly to Soneiken, Cruxophim notes, "Oh, that's right. I did get distracted."

Madmountan says, "How about that Chaston's Edict."

Breshon whispers something to Raelee.

Xorus says, "I jest, of course."

Breshon says, "I should check on my sister. The cold months still wake her at times during the night."

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "I hope Larsya fares well. My advisor is, of course, not constrained to marry her now, I hope." (referring to an arrangement made at the Valley of Gold while Larsya distributed bleakstones)

Breshon says, "Thank you all for attending."

Felita says, "I hope she be ok."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "I like da pirate lady."

Speaking to Xorus, Goldstr says, "Never knews ye to jest."

Lazaryth says, "Thank you for the hospitality."

Speaking to Breshon, Pietra says, "Thanks for the food."

Speaking heartily to Breshon, Chamorr says, "This will not go down smoothly."

Speaking to Breshon, Melikor says, "Thank you."

Speaking to Shiril, Madmountan says, "I never noticed you weren't a full blooded elf until just now."

Breshon says, "I am sure Mayor Lylia can guide you out of her Outpost if needed."

Breshon grins.

Breshon bows.

Cryheart says, "Thank ye for the dinner, Lord Breshon."

Speaking to Breshon, Zosopage says, "Rest well."

Geijon says, "Dame Evia and Sir Goldstr both put forward valid suggestions."

Lord Breshon just went out.

Afterward

Felita says, "Thankee fer the midnite dinner."

Geijon says, "Nothing is going to get decided tonight though."

Nehor smoothly says, "Thank you for the meal and the words. Quite entertaining, m'lord."

Umbazi says, "He's gone."

Lylia says, "Yes. I know the way well, having reclaimed the place from the Ithzir."

Speaking testily to Madmountan, Shiril says, "I can't even begin to tell if you meant that as a compliment or not."

Speaking to Shiril, Madmountan says, "Missing a tad bit of ear twang."

Cryheart says, "Ok..leaving for the Landing."

Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "Did we pish off da hosht or shumtin?"

Lylia says, "I shall be in my office."

Speaking to Lylia, Nehor suggests, "Feeling the weariness of leadership yourself?"

Madmountan asks, "I'm about to die, aren't I?"

Speaking heartily to Cryheart, Chamorr says, "Indeed, get me outta here."

Cryheart says, "If ye dinnae want to head to the Landing, please sit."

Speaking to Madmountan, Shiril says, "I may regret this, but..."

Speaking teasingly to Ifanna, Bristenn asks, "Informative, squire?"

Cryheart says, "One."

Shiril hauls off and slaps Madmountan up'side the head!

Cryheart says, "Two."

Cryheart says, "Three."

Madmountan says, "No, I deserve that."

Cryheart says, "Good evening all."

Leafiara briefly says, "Eve, all."

(wanders about looking for someone, can't find them, heads to TSC)

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the translucent Frittz disk, a badly damaged gold box, the Taziah disk, the Tifane disk, a great white wolf that is sitting, the Gregorix disk, some stone benches with some stuff on it and an herbal remedy donation bin.

Also here: Event Planner Leafiara, Felita, Tuto, Alcov, Kobant, Pukk, Great Lord Kroviec, Madgen, Edwyrd who is kneeling, Doppler, Ahlric, Frittz who is sitting, Great Lord Jackke, Kashern, Taziah, Zusta, Lady Tifane, Gregorix who is sitting, Bbee, Lord Vehiron who is sitting, Dillitink, Zaneon

Speaking to Bbee, Pukk says, "Didn't make me forget everything, but thank you for trying."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "If you talk to the Rooks again, tell them I would like to join."

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara mutters, "This'll be ugly."

Lord Chamorr just arrived.

Speaking wryly to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "You should've gone to bed after all, apparently."
