Speculated to have been a female wizard or sorcerer, this horrible creature has been bound to life after death by some horrible magic. Her rotting teeth, decaying flesh, and tattered robes leave little evidence left of her original appearance. Fading in and out of view, at times you can even see straight through her to the other side!
Appraisal:
The banshee is medium in size and about five feet high in her current state.

Other information
Banshees are a very rare spawn in the Sheruvian Monastery in the Broken Lands.
TD boost
When a banshee is subjected to a warding or bolt spell attack, there is a chance that it will be surrounded by a bright glow, with a color corresponding to each spell circle (e.g. red for Minor Elemental, green for Sorcerer). For a duration of approximately 30 seconds, the banshee receives a +100 boost to its target defense (TD) and defensive strength (DS) against magic. Example:
You gesture at a banshee. The banshee's eyes grow wide as she watches your gestures! Suddenly she makes hurried movements as she recognizes that she is about to be attacked by magic! The banshee raises her hand to protect herself and a bright green glow surrounds her! CS: +251 - TD: +290 + CvA: +25 + d100: +98 == +84 Warded off! A blood red haze eddies and swirls around a banshee before it dissipates. Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
Wearing off:
The glow fades from a banshee.
Wail
A banshee's wail attack has a chance to bind her target.
Example of a successful wail:
A banshee focuses her glare on you and looses a ghastly, keening wail! [SSR result: 169 (Open d100: 94)] Your heart leaps into your throat at the sound of the terrible wail! >prep 704 You don't seem to be able to move to do that.
Wearing off:
The feeling of utter terror recedes.
The SSR reference in the roll seems to suggest its a Standard success resolution system, but exactly what affects it is not currently clear.
Treasure
Banshees carry a variety of treasure but must be searched immediately upon death before they dissolve away.
