Ta'Illistim, also known as the Shining City, is an elven city-state situated in the foothills east of the Dragonspine Mountains. It is one of the five major states that comprise the Elven Nations.
History
Ta'Illistim was founded in the year -49,107, when the scholar Linsandrych Illistim began construction of the Library Aies to house the written histories of the nascent Elven Empire, and was ruled by her direct descendants until the events of the Undead War. Subsequent succession has been controlled by the Council of Thrones. The formal title of the ruling king or queen of Ta'Illistim is the Argent Mirror.
Since 4,878 M.E., the Argent Mirror is Myasara Illistim.
After the opening of the trail across the Dragonspine Mountains (via Zul Logoth) which connects the Elven Nations to the adventuring lands of Wehnimer's Landing, Solhaven, Icemule Trace and River's Rest, Ta'Illistim also became frequented by adventurers. In the case of Ta'Illistim, most of these adventurers were relatively experienced, having traveled there after gaining some skills elsewhere.
