When casting a spell from a non-native spell circle (using a scroll, magic item, or other means), the caster's lore training may only be partially effective depending on the type of circle:

*[[Minor Spiritual]], [[Minor Elemental]], and [[Minor Mental]] retain full lore effectiveness
*[[Major Spiritual]] and [[Major Elemental]] count only half the caster's lore training
*Professional spell circles count only one-third of the caster's lore training
