Synopsis

Wehnimer's Landing adventurers meet with the reiver pastor Dikirk, who's inquiring about a shipment of weapons received from Jadedragan. People explain that he's a half-krolvin, which Dikirk acknowledges as a difficult life, and that the weapons were intended as a gift he was hoping they would use to fight the Imperials. They seem to agree to keep peace between the reivers and the Landing.

As for the Ember Vale, Councilor Vaemyr inquires about them raiding and spying in the kobold village. Dikirk says they'll spy using brambles and briars, which fits what people discovered. Perigourd also mentions Tyeid and the reivers taking interest in the mines; Dikirk has no guess on why, but scowls at Tyeid, who he calls a betrayer to his own kind, "fallen deeply from our ways."

He asks if the Ember Vale has allied with anyone they might be able to get information from, so Leafiara and Councilor Kiyna bring up the Spider Temple and its Arachne priest Drazinoth. Dikirk suggests capturing him. Leafi mentions that Drazinoth's spiders seem weaker than Tyeid's and Vaemyr suspects Tyeid's are augmented with blood magic. Tikba says they might be children since there was talk of wanting to feed them. Dikirk says this all sounds like recruiting, training, and forming an army, but not one of reivers.

Dikirk's been trying to find the Ember Vale with no luck, but neither has anyone else. They explain the only entry so far was created by tiny spiders used by Rheshay. Dikirk asks the group if it will promise to kill everyone in the Ember Vale if he helps find them, since some are still his people; Avrey and Kiyna agree while Leafi and Vaemyr say they'd need to find a way to keep Sablo out of it. Alosaka says that Elidal can yank Sablo's chain. Councilor Kayse asks if they can still be reasoned with and Dikirk says he has no way of knowing if their minds are twisted by the betrayer Tyeid. Goldstr mentions he's been drinking with Jock for years.

Dikirk asks if the magic that conceals the Ember Vale is arcane; Perigourd says he suspects blood magic. Dikirk says he can see what might be written in old books kept locked away. However, some books were destroyed when the clan swore off certain kinds of magic. He says that kind of magic was never written in the way one might think, but in flesh, blood, and sinew. What he has isn't the kind of magic Hagga the Bone Witch used and he doubts it will be useful; however, others express that they appreciate the effort.

Log

Jadedragan's Weapons

[Luinne Bheinn, Church]

This part of the church is filled with heavy, wooden pews. Hauling the pews up to this mountain settlement must have been a long and strenuous affair. Red, amber and blue lights caress the top portion of the pews. An oaken door leads outside. You also see a cherry-filled loaf of dark bread, a capricious wasteland spirit that is flying around and a venerable one-eyed reiver.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Perigourd, Town Councilor Kiyna, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Light Keeper Kayse, Tikba, Avrey, Squire Alosaka, Dragoon Lauranathalasa

Speaking to Avrey, Alosaka says, "He is of both people."

Avrey says, "Most interesting."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kayse says, "It is possible he is hoping to arm you so you will fight the Imperials. But it is a 'gift' nonetheless."

[General] Evii loudly complains, "Bluey got her. The nerve."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "That is a difficult life, I am sure. Neither of those clans care for the other."

[General] Kialeigh thinks, "Evii danced on my corpse.. so there was effort by her as well."

Regarding Tyeid

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I am glad we can keep peace between our clans."

[General] Kialeigh thinks, "Let's all give her a lil hand...."

Lauranathalasa agrees that a venerable one-eyed reiver must die!

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "But, what of the other?"

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Vaemyr says, "We saw some reivers, I do not know from which clan, raiding the kobold villages for food. Is there currently a food shortage you all are suffering? Perhaps we could help as a manner of soothing tensions."

Lauranathalasa says, "Sorry about that."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kiyna asks, "The Ember Vale?"

[General] Mauss philosophically muses, "Da nerve... o' da nerve!"

Alosaka says, "They continue their aggresssion unchecked."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kiyna says, "Their war continues, it seems."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kayse asks, "Do you know of any history of the Ember Vale of Hagga having an alliance with Archane?"

Kayse corrects, "Or Hagga."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "If they spy, they will use brambles and briars to do so. Are there places near these kobolds like that?"

Leafiara says, "Many."

Vaemyr says, "Aye."

Lauranathalasa says, "Indeed there are."

Avrey says, "The forest is filled with them."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Some of our tactics have not changed over the many decades I've been alive."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "But some have, with this new clan."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd asks, "They've been pushing into a mine down below the mountain. Any idea what they would seek there?"

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Many things can be found in mines."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Some are more unique than others."

Tikba evenly says, "Yes."

Perigourd says, "Tyeid seemed to take an interest in it."

Avrey asks, "Any of use that they might pursue?"

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "Tyeid?"

A venerable one-eyed reiver scowls.

Perigourd nods to the reiver.

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kayse asks, "You know him?"

Leafiara says, "Spider shaman."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "We encountered him last evening."

Tikba curiously asks, "What do you know of Tyeid?"

Vaemyr says, "A blood shaman who seems to consort with Arachne perhaps."

Alosaka notes, "He is responsible for many deaths."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Fallen deeply from our ways. I will never speak of them again."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kayse says, "If you know more about him, the information can help us."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "There is not much to tell of a betrayer to their own kind."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kayse asks, "He was once a Reiver? What did he do to betray you?"

Tikba says, "The manner of their betrayal, perhaps."

Leafiara says, "Or anything about his talents... how he draws upon power, perhaps."

Kiyna offers, "Perhaps betrayed their faith?"

Flittacat says, "That reiver reminds me of a child who cant make up his mind if he wishes to stay in or go outside."

Leafiara says, "Any exploitable weaknesses."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Caused the others to flee there home, warp their truths, and steal away the true faith of our people."

Tikba mildly says, "Each must follow their own faith."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Koar forgive me for allowing the flock to stray."

Lauranathalasa says, "I thought druids preffered the forest over caves."

Leafiara says, "Mmm... sometimes there's nothing one can do about such things. People make their choices."

The reiver smiles, "If you spent as much effort fighting the invaders as you do fighting us, we'd all be better off. Especially you." [OOC note: this was a random creature reiver passing through the room.]

Speaking offhandedly to a reiver, Leafiara says, "Don't need to lump me in with some of the others here..."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Has the Ember Vale Clan allied with anyone? Perhaps you can get information from them about what Tyeid is going to do with my people."

Alosaka says, "I don't know of anyone they have allied with... they don't seem prone to making allies."

Leafiara says, "Possible it allied with the Spider Temple."

Kiyna says, "The Spider Temple, if anything, I think."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Vaemyr says, "Not sure, we've had issues with an arachne priest as well recently, and their summoned spiders and Tyeid's are very similar."

Kayse says, "That priest at least..."

Tikba says, "There was one priest of Arachne."

Kiyna says, "What's his name? Draz? Drazinoth. That's it."

Vaemyr says, "I also would not be surprised in the least if Ordlyn allied with them."

Lauranathalasa says, "Dark rituals no doubt."

Leafiara remarks, "Tyeid's spiders are far more powerful, which is... fascinating."

Tikba disappointedly says, "He has not been very helpful."

A reiver winks at Kayse and says something that you can't quite catch.

Kayse stares at a reiver.

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Whoever this priest is, you may want to capture them and learn more."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "Have you encountered them?"

Kayse says, "It is worth a shot..."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "Twice."

Vaemyr says, "We've tried a couple times, has a tendency to get dragged off by his spiders and escape though."

The reiver sighs and says, "Might as well have ae cauld ale at Jock's, as waste me time wi' ye."

A venerable one-eyed reiver nods at a reiver.

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Jock's does sound good right now."

The reiver sighs and says, "Might as well have ae cauld ale at Jock's, as waste me time wi' ye."

Kayse offers, "Perhaps we have to beat him at his own game."

Leafiara says, "So good he said it twice."

Kayse adds, "Web him so he can not move."

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Kayse.

Leafiara says, "Oh."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Good to have goals."

Leafiara says, "I was about to get excited over the idea of figuring out how to summon giant spiders."

Kayse says, "Or trap him where the spiders can not go."

Kiyna says, "Oof, I hate those web spells..."

Lauranathalasa says, "A drink at Jocks doesnt sound like a lofty goal to me."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "You said the priest from the temple's spiders were not as powerful?"

Tikba says, "They were children, perhaps."

Kiyna says, "That's what it seems like, yes."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "Far smaller, and younger."

Kayse says, "The question is why..."

Tikba says, "He spoke several times of wanting to feed them."

Speaking to Kayse, Vaemyr says, "I will certainly try next time, it's been somewhat hard when I also get dragged off and others have... less restraint and just kill him, making it easier actually for him to be rescued."

Kayse suggests, "We could set out bait for his spiders to lure him."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Leafiara says, "Not nearly... quite odd."

Vaemyr says, "I suspect it's because Tyeids are augmented with blood magic."

Kiyna says, "It makes sense to me. Arachne is an Arkati, yes? Or some trumped-up spirit. They don't usually care enough to commit their real power into their servants."

Kiyna says, "Tyeid, on the other hand, has committed quite a lot, as we can see."

Leafiara says, "Arachne's a 'minor spirit,' yes."

Kayse curiously asks, "The Huntress and Archane are foes, correct?"

Perigourd says, "They are."

A venerable one-eyed reiver nods at Vaemyr.

Vaemyr says, "I had a chance to since both spiders, the root of their origin is extremely similar, they are both "otherworldly" as you might say."

Kayse says, "Perhaps that is another tactic to consider."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "That could be."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "Feeding, you said?"

Leafiara asks, "...are you proposing we commune with the Huntress or something to that effect?"

Avrey says, "Where would you get enough flies to lure a horde of spiders."

Leafiara muses, "Certainly not opposed. The Huntress is one of my five preferred Arkati or spirits..."

Tikba mildly says, "I do not think we should commune with the spirit of vengeance just now."

Flittacat says, "Find a bunch of corpses if you want flies."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kayse says, "Not as complex. I am wondering if just bringing him to a shrine would keep his spiders away."

Speaking understandingly to Kayse, Leafiara says, "Ahh."

Alosaka says, "Making our problems the gods' problems never seems to make them better."

Kayse admits, "Mostly just throwing out thoughts."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Vaemyr says, "When we visited the ember vale, we say Tyied's hut, it was filled with half or fully eaten corpses."

Kiyna says, "I'd prefer we didn't commune with any of them, but it's a free town."

Speaking curiously to Alosaka, Leafiara asks, "I thought the one with Niima or Charl looking for a lost elf went well?"

Tikba says, "Perhaps a few webbed roltons would draw the spider's attention."

Avrey says, "We didn't die, at least."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I guess I will be waiting to eat lunch a bit later now."

A venerable one-eyed reiver nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Avrey, Leafiara acknowledges, "I call that going well."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kayse says, "I was mostly wanting to use her as a repellent. Perhaps the sight of mere symbols of followers of her would cause the spiders to stay away long enough to speak to the Priest."

Vaemyr says, "Appoligies..."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "You said that the weaker spiders were being fed, and then Tyeid had trained some, or is commanding them somehow, but they are stronger?"

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "Last evening he seemed to birth some from his own arm."

Kiyna says, "Tyeid's spiders seem to be quite a bit more powerful on average. Some of them are even wholly immune to magic, it seems."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "That sounds a lot like recruiting, and training, and forming an army."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "But not of reivers."

Perigourd says, "The mines would make a good place to conceal one."

Leafiara says, "It's not close in terms of power, either. Kiyna here and I took down dozens of Drazinoth's spiders on our own, but a few of Tyeid's would be too much."

Kayse asks, "When we went to the Ember Vale the portal there was created by a spider, yes?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "But not all of them, in the tunnels, there were some of the magic immune, but many were like those of the arachne priest's."

Speaking curiously to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Leafiara asks, "Any speculation as to who else it could be, then?" [OOC note: I believe I misunderstood what Dikirk said. He might have been saying that the reiver methods of forming an army were being applied to the spiders; my interpretation at the time had been that he was using methods unlike the reivers.]

Perigourd says, "And potentially to burrow into other areas.."

Tikba concernedly says, "If the underground all around us is filled with these spiders, then none of the Landing's miners are safe."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "If the priest and Tyeid are actually working together in some way."

A venerable one-eyed reiver nods.

Kiyna asks, "Why can spiders burrow? Was the world not horrible enough?"

Alosaka exclaims, "Many desert spiders can burrow!"

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Another matter of the Ember Vale Clan."

Vaemyr says, "Maybe we tame a bunch of Roa'ters like Gnul did, and have them eat the spiders underground."

Locating the Ember Vale

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "I have been trying to find it. I have had no luck. What about your methods?"

Leafiara says, "The best roa'ter tamers are the Illoke and I don't think they're especially fond of us at the moment."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "We've yet to determine a path to it."

A venerable one-eyed reiver nods at Perigourd.

Kayse says, "I believe our best bet is coming up with a plan to capture the Priest."

Leafiara asks, "Do we have any sense of his motives?"

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "Some have suggested trailing skrmishers back to their camp, but it may be magically concealed as well."

Vaemyr says, "Where they live seems to be heavily protected by wards, I'm not even sure it can be "found" conventionally. We were brought there through magic, it's possible the whole area they are in is shielded."

Kiyna says, "So we set up an event - spider-themed poetry. And then we wait..."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "Magic?"

Vaemyr says, "A great maw opened."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "That would be powerful magic."

Vaemyr says, "And brought us there."

Tikba says, "Opened by a spider."

Vaemyr says, "Several spiders."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "How big are these spiders?"

Mourdeyan says, "Aye, seemed so."

Vaemyr says, "Some are tiny."

Tikba says, "That one was small."

Vaemyr says, "Others are... very large."

Tikba politely clarifies, "Fairly small."

A venerable one-eyed reiver nods at Vaemyr.

Kiyna asks, "The one that opened the portal was quite small, yes. Maybe the size of a melon?"

Kiyna says, "But they can grow larger than giantmen."

Leafiara says, "Oh, the portal ones... very small."

Speaking slowly to Kiyna, Kayse asks, "A spider the size of a melon is small?"

Avrey says, "Comparisons."

Speaking to Kayse, Kiyna says, "For these ones, yes."

Kayse corrects, "Quite small."

Mourdeyan asks, "Ye speakin of the tiny spiders that took Tyeid to ground once he was subdued?"

Leafiara asks, "Are halfling melons the size of berries...?"

Kiyna gives a sidelong glance at Leafiara.

Leafiara raises her hands toward Kiyna in surrender!

Speaking to Mourdeyan, Perigourd says, "I believe the ones that opened a portal to the Vale."

Tikba thoughtfully says, "If we cannot reach the Ember Vale, perhaps we can reach the caverns of the Arachne cultists."

Mourdeyan says, "Arrigh."

Tikba says, "Tyeid must have a way to travel there from the Vale."

Lauranathalasa says, "I was thinking the same thing, a spider the size of a melon is large."

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "Perhaps it can be tracked."

Vaemyr says, "Like they mentioned, Tyeid unlessed dozes of tiny spiders that rapidly grew into large ones from his own arm. Like they were perhaps living inside of him all along."

Kayse curiously asks, "Do the spiders return to the Vale when they retreat?"

Leafiara considers, "Ah, so that's how he does it with the ones that bury themselves in people too..."

Mourdeyan says, "Gads, he wears a necklace of intestines."

Goldstr says, "Hehe."

A venerable one-eyed reiver frowns.

Speaking to Leafiara, Tikba commends, "A wise observation."

The reiver smiles, "If you spent as much effort fighting the invaders as you do fighting us, we'd all be better off. Especially you."

Mourdeyan turns to face a reiver.

Mourdeyan says, "We do."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Perigourd says, "Perhaps he's feeding those of Draznioth off his own blood to grow them."

Perigourd says, "A living incubator."

A reiver winks at Tikba and says something that you can't quite catch.

Tikba shakes her head at a reiver and clucks her tongue.

Speaking to Perigourd, Vaemyr says, "Aye, off his blood, and others I suspect."

Kiyna says, "What a gruesome method if so... sounds like Stone would love him."

Tikba thoughtfully asks, "Did I hear it said last night that some of the Vale reivers seemed empowered?"

Goldstr says, "Aye."

Vaemyr says, "But if drazinoth is the source of the spiders, then we should try to cut off that source."

Kayse says, "Everblood...yet they are not acting the same as the Blameless."

Tikba says, "Tyeid found a way to transfer that power from the spiders to his kin."

Kiyna says, "Red veins... their wounds regenerated nigh instantly."

Avrey comments, "Seems like there are two goals. Find the base, remove him from the power."

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "Or from himself to both."

Kiyna says, "That regenerative power wasn't limitless. We could kill them eventually... but the effort required was immense."

Leafiara says, "Diluted Everblood by the sounds of it... still quick to heal, but not limitless."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Very similar to blameless, I managed to obtain a... sample, but haven't had much time yet to really test what exactly was done to them."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "If I help you find them, will you promise not to kill them all?"

Goldstr says, "I still has some Everblood salve."

Goldstr says, "Maybe will be handy."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Some of them are still my people."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Avrey says, "You have my word."

Leafiara asks, "Er... which 'them' are we finding?"

Leafiara says, "Ah, the Ember Vale."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "The Ember Vale."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kayse asks, "Can they still be reasoned with?"

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kiyna says, "For my part, I have no desire to kill them all, or even any of them, really. I just want them to stop attacking."

Leafiara says, "Hm."

Alosaka says, "If they fight us, we will have to fight them."

Leafiara says, "We'd have to find a way to ensure Sablo has no idea where they are."

'Avrey says, "I will not kill them -all-."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Vaemyr says, "If it's "us" who go there, we can, if the imperials go there I'm not sure we can stop them."

Alosaka nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "Otherwise it seems impossible to promise they won't all be killed."

Alosaka says, "Elidal can yank his chain. He's been chastised once."

Goldstr says, "Sorry to has to say."

Kiyna says, "Sablo would cut them down without a thought unless he was specifically prevented, yes..."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I have no way of knowing if their minds are twisted by the betrayer. Some reivers enjoy battle, and that is enough."

Mourdeyan says, "It seems soon as a certain number of us get t'gether in one spot...battle ensues, some tryin reason, others just resorting to the sword wi'out any recourse."

Lauranathalasa says, "Peace through war, so sad it always comes to that."

Avrey asks, "Is there some way you could know? Something that could help us?"

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "I've always tried to give peace to those of the clan who would accept it."

Alosaka says, "Some of these Ember Vale Reivers -- many of them, perhaps -- seem to enjoy killing outside the context of battle. Unless they consider shepherds worthy opponents."

Goldstr says, "I's been drinkin wid Jock fer years."

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "It's easy to be misled, but that doesn't mean they're all lost."

Perigourd says, "Or incapable of finding their way back."

Perigourd says, "Such was the case many years ago."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I have prayed for a swift outcome each night. If it is the will of Koar to prolong this, then so be it."

Mourdeyan says, "An last eve...."

Tikba politely says, "When the time comes, I am sure the outcome will be swift."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "You could talk to Jock. I am sure he would not mind the business."

A venerable one-eyed reiver nods at Goldstr.

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Goldstr says, "I has always been a friend a ye's."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Vaemyr says, "We hope for a swift end as well, but I worry there will be none of your people left to save. If they are infusing them with even lesser everblood they will not be the same."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Mourdeyan says, "Peace friend."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I don't know much about what you just said. But I'm sure it made sense to someone here."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "That those of the Vale may not be who they once were, regardless of giving them quarter."

Kayse wonders, "It might only be a lesser Everblood because they do not have much and are rationing it."

Mourdeyan says, "Exacly."

Speaking to Kayse, Perigourd says, "It might also be limited."

Vaemyr says, "Anyways I wish you well, I'm willing to try and work with you the best I can if you wish. My desire is just peace in the region."

Kayse says, "That's what I meant."

Vaemyr says, "But I need to go for now."

Perigourd says, "At least for now."

Speaking to Kayse, Leafiara ponders, "Reasonable theory. I'd been thinking it was lesser Everblood because they were extracting it from Blameless who perhaps were infused years ago, but... any number of possibilities."

Lauranathalasa says, "Peace be with you as well Dikirk."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I'm a simple pastor. If I want to learn about the arcane I'd need to read some of the old texts written by my ancestors."

Tikba says, "One's duty must take precedence."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Hopefully I'll know what it was soon enough."

A venerable one-eyed reiver rubs his chin thoughtfully.

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "Perigourd. You said that the Ember Vale Clan may be using magic?"

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "To conceal their whereabouts? yes."

Alosaka says, "That... seems evident, yes."

A venerable one-eyed reiver asks, "Arcane magic?"

Perigourd furrows his brow.

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "Blood magic would be my guess, as it seems more ritualistic in nature."

Alosaka says, "That sort of magic isn't uncommon. The Grimswarm use it to hide entire encampments under our noses."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I can see what might be written in some of the old books I've got. We keep that sort of thing locked away, but if it helps."

Tikba says, "That could be very helpful."

Mourdeyan says, "Couldn't hurt in the least."

Alosaka says, "If he weren't so secure in the Vale, he might have fewer opportunities to attack us."

Avrey says, "We appreciate it."

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "He might also lose many of those who follow them."

Kayse says, "At least we are not completely blind when it comes to Blood Magic in our town..."

Perigourd says, "The Clans are often tied to the land they inhabit."

Kiyna says, "That would be appreciated, Dikirk."

Goldstr says, "Be well Sir."

Perigourd says, "I can't imagine them wanting to move too far."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Not sure if it will be useful, and might take me awhile to figure out what is what. Some of them were destroyed when the clan swore not to use certain kinds of magic."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Some are just parts of pages."

Avrey asks, "Did this fellow have access to the materiels?"

Alosaka says, "His mother apparently did."

Mourdeyan says, "Seems some may have had differin agendas..."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Perigourd says, "It may be that any information could prove useful to locating them."

Perigourd says, "However small."

Tikba politely says, "If you find any more forbidden books, I am sure we can be of help in disposing of them."

A veteran reiver winks at Leafiara and says something that you can't quite catch. (first-person: The reiver winks at you and says, "Yer beauty is far beyond mere words, fair" Leafiara.")

Leafiara grins impishly at a veteran reiver.

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "That kind of magic was never written in the way you might think."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "She used flesh, blood, and sinew."

A veteran reiver winks at Kayse and says something that you can't quite catch.

The reiver smiles sadly, "Ol' Talbot Dabbings would surely turn in his grave, if he could see this, Lauranathalasa."

Lauranathalasa begins chuckling at a veteran reiver!

The reiver smiles sadly, "Ol' Talbot Dabbings would surely turn in his grave, if he could see this, Avrey."

Speaking to a veteran reiver, Kiyna says, "Apparently I'm related to Talbot Dabbings. Or so Pukk says."

Kayse murmurs, "Very misleading messages from these reivers."

The reiver sneers at you and says, "I hope ye have nae come tae steal our roltons! Food is ae precious commodity up here. Petty rustlers will be dealt wi' harshly."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Avrey says, "I don't know who that is."

Speaking cheerfully to Kayse, Leafiara says, "I prefer to call his words on my beauty a compliment."

Kiyna asks, "How'd he know my name...?"

Kayse confusedly says, "I think I am being hit-on and threatened in the same breath."

Kiyna asks, "Am I reiver-famous?"

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "If you stand around in the church long enough, you'll meet the whole clan."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara says, "I assume Yardie tells tales of us all when we aren't looking."

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka says, "Perhaps he asked his friends to find out who you are."

Speaking amusedly to Leafiara, Kiyna asks, "While painting the reivers' nails?"

The reiver looks at you with doubt. "If ye have come tae join our efforts against the krol', we'll have tae first see if yer tough enough tae be one o' us. 'tis ae hard life and ae harsh place up 'ere."

Kayse flatly says, "This conversation is spiraling downward to unhelpful."

Speaking evenly to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Tikba says, "I have been in harsh places before."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "The books I have aren't the kind of magic Hagga the Bone Witch used."

Mourdeyan says, "Thankye for knowledge sir."

Leafiara earnestly exclaims, "We appreciate your time. Will do what we can!"

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Avrey asks, "Will you send a sign when you've found and read the books to let us have a chance at finding his lair?"

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I don't know what I might find. I doubt it will be useful."

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "Right now there is a hunch it might be magic of some kind."

Leafiara encourages, "Only one way to find out."

Speaking to a venerable one-eyed reiver, Kiyna says, "We appreciate the attempt, at any rate."

A venerable one-eyed reiver nods at Perigourd.

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I'm just going to look at what I can find, if it helps. It may be nothing."

Perigourd nods appreciatively to the venerable one-eyed reiver.

Perigourd says, "We'll do what we can as well."

Perigourd turns toward the reiver and renders a sharp hand salute.

A venerable one-eyed reiver says, "I should return to my prayers."

A venerable one-eyed reiver just went east.
