Formed and crafted by evil powers from masses of broken and splintered bones, the bone golem stands the height of a squat human with unnaturally long arms that end in sharp splinters of bone like the claws of a beast. A grinning skull leers from atop the unholy mass and the jawbone clacks and clicks in a grotesque parody of speech.[1]
When bone golems were updated to BCS, their descriptions were changed to:
Dried bones send sickening clacking sounds throughout the area at the barest movement of a bone golem. Its large skull capped with twin horns formed of sharply spiraled bone begins a long spine ending in a sharp tail that whips back and forth in a vicious swipe. Even longer than the snout of the bone golem are its sickly jointed claws which have been filed at the ends into terrifying weapons. Contrary to the empty feeling of its bones, it moves with the blocky movement of an enormous, fleshed creature.
Hunting strategies
- The Empath base spell, Bone Shatter (1106), works very well against these.
- The Cleric base spell, Prayer of Holding (301) lowers the golem's physical DS to -38. This costs 3 mana.
Other information
- Puncture resistant
- Immune to Holding Song
- The bone golems (in Vaalor, other parts unknown) sometimes drop crystal cores.
Bone golems have a creature maneuver in which they can knock over an opponent with their tail. This can cause roundtime up to 20 seconds. An example of this attack:
A bone golem swings its segmented tail of bestial vertebrae at you!
With a loud *CLACK* the bony tail crashes into you, knocking you to the ground!
Roundtime: 12 sec.
Messaging
A bone golem's legs churn backwards, sharp claws scratching a trail on the ground.
A bone golem raises its claws above its head as its jaws click together in a silent chant.
Eyeless sockets cast an undead gaze about the area as a bone golem surveys its surroundings.
