Murstyr Javilerre Illistim was the Lord Commander of the Sapphire Guard, the successor of Commander Lorvellas, under the rule of Argent Mirror Myasara. He was the father of Caylio Javilerre, Loremaster and husband of Myasara, as well as Hycinthia Javilerre who was a Handmaiden. Hycinthia was accused of conspiracy to commit fratricide and regicide, for which she was convicted of treason, and sentenced to death by beheading at the order of Myasara herself. He was the one who disarmed his daughter when she pulled a dagger after being named by the assassin at his trial.
Murstyr Javilerre Illistim is the Lord Commander of the Sapphire Guard under the rule of Argent Mirror Myasara. He is the successor to Commander Lorvellas. His service has been marked by a series of personal tragedies all tied to political maneuvering around the Argent Mirror, resulting in the death of both of his children and his niece. In recent years, as security over the official public events in Ta'Illistim grew lax, he saw a rash of poisonings and deaths under his watch. Yet in his service to Myasara, he is stoic and cautious, distrusting of foreigners, and prefers order over the chaos of political intrigue. He is a regular figure in the Illistim court ensuring that peace is kept, and he accompanies Myasara abroad for matters of diplomacy. As a soldier, he is portrayed as having exceptional skill and dedication, and he has remarked that his service is his life and retirement would never suit him.

He had two children. His son Caylio Javilerre was a Loremaster and Myasara's royal husband. His daughter Hycinthia Javilerre was one of the Argent Mirror's handmaidens. She also was responsible for her brother's death.
Murstyr was clearly not a fan of the appointment of a Faendryl ambassador in Ta'Illistim. Whether his own feelings were partially responsible for his daughter is open to speculation.

Not long after Myasara and Caylio wed, Murstyr's daughter Hycinthia instigated a conspiracy to commit fratricide, regicide, and treason that resulted in Caylio's death in early 5114. The assassin, Neidel, was caught and during his trial revealed that he had been working for Hycinthia, who had promised Neidel that he would only be exiled rather than sentenced to death for his actions. Caylio's death was accidental. Myasara had been the target. Hycinthia ultimately confessed to orchestrating the conspiracy and blamed Myasara for taking her service for granted and for allowing the "lesser races" to freely walk through the city, with a special scathing emphasis on dark elves. Her intention had been to make Caylio Argent Mirror by inheritance as Myasara's royal husband so that she could mold his policy away from the controversial progressiveness of recent years and away from racial tolerance. When Hycinthia pulled a dagger, Murstyr disarmed his own daughter. Hycinthia was convicted of all charges against her and sentenced to death of beheading by Myasara herself, and her name was striken from her family records.

In the years following Caylio's death, Murstyr and Myasara have shared repeated moments of fond familiality with one another at various public events, sometimes far beyond what would normally be expected between a man and his widowed daughter-in-law. This has led to rumors and speculation as to whether the two were actually courting, and whether it was even proper for him to cast his gaze on his dead son's wife or to encourage her affections.

The Javilerre family of Illistim is one of its most prominent, with many of its members finding service within the Sapphire Guard. It also is very close to a number of families among the Vaalor. Murstyr is quite close to his counterpart in Ta'Vaalor, Lord Legionnaire Commander Jaranzair Nashal Vaalor and his family. During the memorial service for Sayilla Javilerre, Jaranzair wistfully reminesced about a child-aged Sayilla running through the halls of his home alongside his grandchildren when Murstyr and his family visited.

In 5110, a member of the Illistim Cartographer's Guild, Odilia, was attacked in Wehnimer's Landing. Scant days later, the corpse of another Odilia was found dead in Shimmarglim Court. Murstyr led an investigation into the matter in the east while a parallel one was carried out in the west. It was revealed that Odilia had indeed been killed some time earlier, and the perpetrator had been posing as Odilia in Wehnimer's Landing for some time since. The town's government agreed to transport the imposter Odilia east to face justice in Ta'Illistim, however the caravan never arrived. Murstyr reported that all of the wagons had been burned, and he led the efforts in identifying all of the remains.

Murstyr was open about his dislike of Ambassador Tredohal Hashier Faendryl when he was appointed to the newly opened Faendryl Embassy in 5112. Whether his own feelings were partially responsible for his daughter's later actions is open to speculation.

During the attacks of the sorcerer Vindicto in 5117, Murstyr was among those helping to oganize defenses, coordinating with the Vaalor Legionnaires and forging ahead into Old Ta'Faendryl after King Qalinor requested aid of the Argent Mirror.

A series of poisons plagued the Illistim court events under Murstyr's watch, starting with the events surrounding the Valley of Gold treaty of 5119, which declared a mutual respect and friendship between the Illistim and the Turamzzyrian Empire. After the treaty signing event had concluded, a Loenthran artist newly arrived in Ta'Illistim used specially prepared paints to poison several members of the court, including Handmaidens Orelwen Greyvael and Yrmythia Gael, though once again the intended target was actually Myasara. For the next several years, food and drink was routinely found poisoned during official Illistim functions, much to the distress of guests attending. While Murstyr made a show of ensuring that he tested all food and drink before Myasara, it was some time before the rash of poisonings subsided.

In Lormesta 5123, the Tristar of family Daesavreh arrived in Ta'Illistim from New Ta'Faendryl, consisting of Watcher Lihukshi Daesavreh, Blade Auait Daesavreh, and Sorcerer Anieit Daesavreh. They had tracked the rogue Faendryl sorcerer Enomna the Betrayer and her husband Henshor after the pair had committed serious crimes against Patriarch Korvath Dardanus Faendryl and his family. They petitioned the Argent Mirror to continue their hunt in Illistim territories. Murstyr was openly distrustful of them. He begrudgingly yielded to the Argent Mirror's command to hold the Sapphire Guard back, though he made a point to inform them that the Guard would be ready should they fail again, fortifying the city's walls and sending words of caution to those without.

It was under Murstyr's watch that Lady Kasendra was killed in early Fashanos during a ball held at the Ta'Illistim Keep, yet another blemish on his legacy.

Following the death of his neice, Sayilla, Murstyr began demonstrating increasingly erratic behavior. On Charlatos 3, he traveled unexpectedly to Ta'Vaalor under cover of night, even in spite of the ongoing Inquisition into the death of Kasendra. At the Legendary Rest, he met Lord Legionnaire Commander Cyik Elenelon Vaalor and Mistress Leisette of the Nalfein. The topic of Jaranzair being held still for questioning came up, and Murstyr was quick to reassure Cyik that Jaranzair would be released promptly. Murstyr then repeatedly pressed Cyik for confirmation that House Vaalor would uphold its longstanding alliance with the Illistim and would march to war alongside them, should war be deemed necessary. He also showed an uncharacteristic display of emotion about the death of Sayilla.

At the end of the Inquiry of emissary Fennelis Asja of the Ardenai on Charlatos 14, she alluded to Murstyr's visit to Ta'Vaalor without naming him directly, suggesting that the Inquisitors should be aware of it.

Murstyr attended Sayilla's memorial service on Charlatos 25. He expressed sorrow over the loss of his neice, and also that the seed she had chosen had been lost with her. He chose a new one in its place, the linden, for the golden blossom it bore. He was especially touched by a painting offered in Sayilla's honor. Both Myasara and Jaranzair offered him comfort.

Several servants gossiped on the Green on Charlatos 31. Amid the many topics of conversation was that Jaranzair had offered to help find Sayilla, or her remains, but Murstyr had declined the offer.

Murstyr Javilerre Illistim is the Lord Commander of the Sapphire Guard under the rule of Argent Mirror Myasara. He is the successor to Commander Lorvellas. He had two children. His son Caylio Javilerre was a Loremaster and Myasara's royal husband. His daughter Hycinthia Javilerre was one of the Argent Mirror's handmaidens. She also was responsible for her brother's death.

Not long after Myasara and Caylio wed, Murstyr's daughter Hycinthia instigated a conspiracy to commit fratricide, regicide, and treason that resulted in Caylio's death in early 5114. In 5110, a member of the Illistim Cartographer's Guild, Odilia, was attacked in Wehnimer's Landing. Scant days later, the corpse of another Odilia was found dead in Shimmarglim Court.
