Synopsis

Mayor Alendrial meets with Landing citizens and allies in the Moot Hall orchard, where she's feeding the birds. Councilor Kiyna wishes to talk about Tyrrax and the krolvin, but first Alendrial brings up Judge Manard's decision with Captain Bodohal: releasing him for time served only to in the next breath essentially order--or at very least allow--a manhunt outside the gates that resulted in his death.

Alendrial says that might have been the justice of the Landing of yesterday, but the town didn't vote for it and she didn't campaign for it, so she'll begin an investigation in coming weeks to look into the disappearance of Renpaw and the machinations of Manard. She hears rumors about him and worries of pressure or corruption, but assures it will be a Wehnimer's issue handled by the town, not Imperial inquisitors. For now, the extent of Manard's power has been weakened until the investigation is closed or a new Judge is elected.

Alendrial thanks everyone for helping Thadston and Casiphia and gives updates: Thadston has small bouts of consciousness and can't lift his arms yet, but healers say he'll recover, and Casi is recovering quickly enough that Alendrial expects her sentence to begin by next month.

On to the krolvin, Alendrial asks for everyone's thoughts:

  • Leafiara says Sir Geijon seemed set on taking the refugees in even if the town doesn't and implies the Landing might as well get paid for it.
  • Councilor Kiyna thinks there's room to discuss depending on the number and think it represents a potential first step toward relations between reivers and krolvin that could have immense long-term benefits despite short-term challenges.
  • Irval says maybe it could be done in the future, but wouldn't do it now because it'll stir up problems with the reivers of the Ember Vale.
  • Councilor Vaemyr suggests helping them to open up further dialogue despite difficulties with the reivers. He'd like to stipulate that offering refuge will require the freeing of any slaves among them.
  • Lylia says Tyrrax's offer of payment is more than most seeking refuge have done, but it's no facile answer since the krolvin people are unlikely to settle easily given their culture.
  • Envoy Tikba says the destruction of Glaeve seemed to strengthen Tyrrax's position, making the need for peace greater than before.

Before people go on, Alendrial says that angling any response to Tyrrax with sensitivity toward the Ember Vale is only naive because the Ember Vale is an enemy at war with the Landing's ally, the Barony of Darkstone. Leafi says that poses a problem since Elidal claims to want to pursue peace; Alendrial says she would welcome peace and do nothing to upend it if they do strike peace, but the Landing remains at war with the Vale while the Vale remains at war with the Barony.

Alendrial asks about the types of krolvin being brought; Tikba and Leafi reiterate that they were too weak for life at sea and weren't coastal raiders, but it's unclear how many--if any--are slaves, infirm, or children. Alendrial says she's less worried about providing aid and more about where the refugees will reside, since within Landing walls might invite too much division and trouble. As she begins to propose the Landing build a camp, Leafi mentions that Geijon brought up the krolvin village at the Lysierian Hills, but Alendrial says we might have a chance to alter the trajectory for some krolvin and the refugees might represent a positive voice among their brethren.

Alendrial's thoughts go to near the Black Sands, though she'll need to check the barony's border lines. Xorus says there is economy to the Ember Vale killing the refugees and then the Landing telling Tyrrax about it, but Alendrial doesn't wish to sharpen enemies to kill other enemies anymore.

Eventually, Alendrial makes the call:

  • The Landing will take the krolvin refugees and establish a small camp for them along the Black Sands.
  • This will avoid the need for Landing citizens to protect the krolvin from other Landing citizens disgruntled with the decision.
  • There will be no slaves and any prisoner setting foot on the shore is the Landing's to protect.
  • The krolvin will work to help fish, bundle supplies, and otherwise provide efforts to benefit the Landing.

Tikba says she'll inform Tyrrax when he returns; Alendrial says not to wait and just send word if she can, as couriers are surprisingly efficient. Kiyna says there will be pushback from citizens and the Remnants, but Alendrial says there always is and she'll know she's erred when there isn't.

Lastly, Alendrial says we may know more about Stephos tomorrow, then suggests everyone get rest and wishes all a good eve.

Idle Chatter

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Phereclese disk, a dismal wasteland spirit that is flying around, the Kirasoki disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild deep red dog, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a rose-marrow potion, a drake greatsword, some wolifrew lichen, a handful of white flower petals, the skull-shaped Irval disk, a handful of white flower petals, a bone-inlaid wooden sign that reads, "Bigger is Better. Vote for Irval!", a painted winged heart sign that reads, "Vote Saraphenia: For Love, For Wehnimer's!", a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it and an old well.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Arahnim, Phereclese, Balren, Monza, Preservationist Perigourd, Tikba, Bernadette, Town Councilor Kiyna, Pukk, Kirasoki, Conquerer of Reim Missoni, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Lady Alexandrena who is sitting, Zanbrik, Kialeigh, Irval

Pukk says, "I have tried selling Irval in a while. I'm really off my game tonight."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "We are joined to Vaemyr."

Kialeigh says, "Ok my parasol can't protect against that."

Leafiara feeds the coppery barn owl a bite of her chocolate donut.

Leafiara feeds the coppery barn owl a bite of her chocolate donut.

Speaking to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Pukk exclaims, "Owly!"

Leafiara feeds the coppery barn owl a bite of her chocolate donut.

Irval points his skull gavel at Pukk and loudly announces, "Sold!"

Leafiara feeds the coppery barn owl a bite of her chocolate donut.

The coppery barn owl hoots at Leafiara.

Leafiara feeds the coppery barn owl the last of her chocolate donut.

Speaking brightly to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Leafiara asks, "Right?"

Speaking to Pukk, Irval says, "Boots on the other foot now."

Kialeigh says, "That owl has you all whipped."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "So I hear I missed quite a time at trial part two..."

Speaking amusedly to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Yes."

Speaking to Irval, Pukk says, "You just sold yourself to me."

Irval says, "Err...wait."

Irval says, "Thats not...no that can't be right."

Speaking to Irval, Pukk says, "You pointed to me and said sold."

Speaking to Pukk, Kialeigh says, "According to gavel law he actually now owns you."

Speaking pleasedly to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Bodohal's dead and killing him probably didn't jeopardize town, which is better than probably ninety percent of outcomes around here."

Monza says, "UH OH."

Irval exclaims, "No , no you are sold!"

Speaking to Kialeigh, Pukk says, "He said that I bought him. gavel law."

Speaking to Pukk, Kialeigh says, "Check the gavel owners handbook and the manual for legal sales and transactions."

Irval says, "To Gutstorm."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr asks, "Well, while I'm not happy about Manard making deals, the result is what I wanted in the end, so one less enemy to potentially deal with. Did we at least some information?"

Speaking to Irval, Pukk says, "You point to the person who wins the auction."

Tikba calmly says, "The trial concluded successfully."

Speaking curiously to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Err... I don't think there was a deal."

Speaking to Pukk, Irval says, "Not in my auction."

Speaking to Pukk, Kialeigh says, "He likes to showcase the product."

Leafiara admits, "And the information was hard for me to discern since so much of it was rooted in happenings in the Empire."

Speaking to Irval, Pukk says, "Gavel law says all auctions are gavel auctions."

Leafiara says, "Names I'm admittedly not even familiar with."

Speaking to Kialeigh, Pukk says, "You are just upset that I own Irval now."

Kiyna says, "Bodohal's dead and we killed him. That's enough for me."

Speaking to Pukk, Irval says, "He or she that holds the gavel determines the victors."

Speaking to Kialeigh, Pukk says, "But that is okay. I will give him to you. As a gift."

Alendrial and Judge Manard

[General] Alendrial thinks, "Good evening."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Why we nod follerin Leafi?!"

Speaking to Pukk, Kialeigh says, "Not really.. he's expensive. That's on you if you bought him."

Speaking to Irval, Pukk says, "Yes. You pointed to me and said sold. I win."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Evening, Mayor."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara exclaims, "Pukk called it before I got here!"

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Evening Alendrial."

[General] Leafiara amiably greets, "Good eve!"

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Vaemyr!"

[General] Tikba respectfully greets, "Mayor."

[General] Lylia thinks, "A rather tempestuous one, but we have weathered worse."

[General] Alendrial thinks, "I am in the Moot Halll Orchard, if you can mind the rain. It seems to already be letting up slowly."

Pukk says, "To catch everybody up."

Speaking to Pukk, Kialeigh says, "You'll have to keep him living the life he's accustomed to."

[Moot Hall, Great Lobby]

The great lobby is quite spacious, with an oak bannister wrapping around a staircase leading to the second story of Moot Hall. The walls are draped in rich tapestries framing niches that hold marble busts of local dignitaries. To the north is a double door, and to the west, a mahogany door bearing a silver plaque. A carpeted pathway leads toward the Debt Collector's Office. You also see a large wooden chest, a large wooden chest, a veil iron shield-shaped plaque, a blackboard and an old stained table with an iron bucket on it.

[General] Zaaldine thinks, "Checks his sundial and wonders if everybody lost there minds."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Ah, I love the orchard."

Speaking to Kialeigh, Pukk says, "Or I can sell him to Gutstorm."

Leafiara opines, "Oh, this is so much better than Thadston's choices of places to meet."

Pukk asks, "Would you like to buy Irval for 1 silver?"

Pukk asks, "Where did he go?"

Tikba points at a double door.

Vaemyr says, "Lets see if I can remember how to get there."

[Moot Hall, Assembly Room]

In this large assembly room meetings are convened to deal with the affairs of the town, and the locals hold their religious and social events. Sconces for torches, chandeliers holding many candles, and broad windows impart a warm, friendly glow of good fellowship to this space. The entire room has been completely emptied out of all wooden benches, tables, and chairs. You also see a double door, a louvered door and several cloth-draped voting booths.

Tikba gazes in amusement at her surroundings.

Tikba says, "Never mind."

[General] Nyaria asks, "Why yes, Zaaldine, everyone has, isnt it lovely?"

[Moot Hall, Orchard]

A large garden stretches out beneath the shadow of Moot Hall, where rows and rows of apple trees flourish in abundance. In the center of the orchard stands a speckled dark grey granite fountain surrounded by hand-carved red oak benches. Thick stone walls rise up behind the building, shielding the area from the rest of the town, and a carved wooden door leads back inside. You also see the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild deep red dog, a large canvas hammock and a spiraled wooden pedestal with a small birdseed bowl on it.

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "We need to give Vaemyr a refresher course of Moot Hall."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Apple!"

Lylia says, "No, thank you."

[General] Zaaldine thinks, "I must say it is =)"

Speaking to Pukk, Vaemyr says, "Just wanted to remind peopel to vote first."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Pukk exclaims, "Oh..sneaky! Good thinking!"

Alendrial gently taps upon a pile of birdseed and watches as several of the kernels scatter from the pile.

Kiyna exclaims, "Vote for Vaemyr!"

Faiyth says, "Great we can lure some birds down for dinner."

Dipping her hand into a nearby bowl, Alendrial scoops up a handful of birdseed and tosses it upon the ground.

Clusters of finches flock to the offering and chitter with one another as they peck away at the seed. It only takes a matter of seconds for them to completely consume the offered meal, though they still stand around chirping at each other for a few moments more. Rising as one, they take to the air and glide away.

Dipping her hand into a nearby bowl, Dwi scoops up a handful of birdseed and tosses it upon the ground.

Clusters of finches flock to the offering and chitter with one another as they peck away at the seed. It only takes a matter of seconds for them to completely consume the offered meal, though they still stand around chirping at each other for a few moments more. Rising as one, they take to the air and glide away.

Dwi heartily says, "Nitengales."

Alendrial says, "They just peck and peck away don't they..."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr asks, "Hopefully no shadow Aelotoi tonight?"

Alendrial says, "Not unlike some in this town, really."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "Disciples of Owly."

Leafiara agrees, "Many in this town."

Speaking politely to Vaemyr, Tikba says, "We must hope not."

Faiyth says, "Some have sharper beaks den odders."

Leafiara muses, "...and many out of it."

Speaking drunkenly to Alendrial, Gutstorm slurs, "Maddam Mayer, me hearda rumor yoo needa a Depooty Mayer, me nomnate meshelf."

[General] Zaaldine thinks, "Particularly here at the dais. just outside of it anyways. angry mobs demanding answers for the missing people."

Faiyth says, "At least most of them squawk a lot."

Alendrial looks over at Gutstorm and shakes her head.

Speaking heartily to Bernadette, Dwi says, "Bear would jus lose it."

Vaemyr says, "So... which of the many topics are we discussing first."

Tikba mildly says, "People must be fed, just as birds."

Bernadette softly says, "Tanks."

[General] Zaaldine thinks, "They are fighting with each other, which probably does help anybody.. but is still entertaining."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "So, Mayor. Since we're all here, I would hear your thoughts on the proposed krolvin refugees. If you don't mind me jumpin' right in."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat notta no."

[General] Zaaldine thinks, "Er probably doesn't I meant."

Alendrial asks, "Well then, right to work councilor, eh?"

Kiyna grins at Alendrial.

Speaking uncertainly to Gutstorm, Tikba says, "That gesture is a no."

Alendrial says, "I suppose your term's twilght is soon enough, so there's no time to waste."

Speaking affably to Kiyna, Leafiara says, "Need to make those last days count."

[General] Nyaria thinks, "I mean i try to avoid people when possible, so maybe they're not missing."

Speaking to Kiyna, Irval says, "Im curious as to the view this will have in relation to the reiver problem."

Speaking to Alendrial, Pukk asks, "Madam Mayor, what are your thoughts on the socks trade? Do you think more people will be buying socks and should we start saving ours?"

Alendrial says, "Before we address the krolvin...."

Speaking drunkenly to Tikba, Gutstorm slurs, "Not true, Lylia do dat alla time and it only encourich me more."

Alendrial says, "I want to make something very clear."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Hey...we aint check'd da new Mayer's snack bar yet."

[General] Zaaldine thinks, "I kinda think they all left to join a cult, but there are missing posters all over."

Alendrial says, "Some of you may feel justice delivered nights ago for Bodohal. Some of you may strongly feel otherwise."

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm slurs, "Think her door broked."

Alendrial clenches her jaw.

Alendrial says, "That was not justice."

Dwi quietly says, "Some us dont giffa owly."

Alendrial says, "Maybe it was of Wehnimer's Landing of yesterday..."

Alendrial says, "But you did not vote for that."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We lucky da Sheriff dere to handle dat ruffian."

Alendrial says, "I did not campaign for that."

Alendrial glances at Dendum.

Lylia says, "Justice is for the courts, not for whomever looses an arrow or a spell first."

Leafiara says, "Nobody has voted for a judge yet."

Faiyth says, "Seems the way of this town sometimes. Violence first."

Leafiara says, "Of course, mostly that was Thadston's fault."

Tikba politely suggests, "When shall we expect an election for a Judge to replace Manard, then?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "In Dendum defensh, Bodohal did tryta kishem."

Kiyna agrees, "Manard did take it into his own hands. He has the right to, being Judge, but his not being elected is a very sore spot for many."

Lylia suggests, "Or you could appoint one. Electing judges is a fraught process."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi asks, "Judges tend to go missin eh?"

Alendrial says, "In the coming weeks, there will be an investigation beginning. One, to finally more fully address the disappearance of Renpaw, and secondly, into the machinations of Manard."

Dwi heartily exclaims, "I bote fer Guts!"

Dwi heartily exclaims, "New judge!"

Pukk says, "Bout time."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "Appreciated."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me even gotta me Gavel."

Alendrial says, "There are rumors about Manard, and I worry there is some pressure or corruption in this city."

Kialeigh says, "Most people gathered here would have been better judges."

Kiyna whispers something to Alendrial.

Kiyna chuckles.

Kialeigh says, "They all have gavels afterall."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Yep... ye eben fit da ol' sayin....sober assa judge."

Alendrial smirks at Kiyna.

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm slurs, "Hole me apple."

Alendrial says, "But it will not be at the hands of an imperial inquisitor."

Alendrial says, "This is a Wehnimer's issue, and will be handled as such."

Leafiara offers, "I have no doubt in my mind as to whether there's pressure or corruption in the Landing. Of course, I also have no proof, so there's that."

Vaemyr whispers something to Alendrial.

Alendrial nods at Vaemyr.

Vaemyr nods at Alendrial.

Tikba politely notes, "It remains open to any to petition the Landing Town Council as to a miscarriage of justice in Manard's court, if such is desired."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Watch dis."

Tikba wryly says, "The Council might choose to overrule the verdict."

Dwi tosses a dappled green apple in the air and swings her drakar dagger at it as it falls, slicing it into tiny bits before it hits the ground!

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "It's a bit late to put him back together just to take him apart again, in my view, but the gesture is important, too."

Tikba mildly says, "Of course, there may be some difficulty in retrying the accused."

Lylia says, "Even if it were overridden, the outcome is likely the same; his guilt was manifest, and after so many murders, he was certain to have died. It should have been at the hands of the law, however."

Speaking quietly to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Applesauss."

Pukk whispers something to Leafiara.

Raelee quietly states, "The man needed a proper interrogation."

Leafiara whispers something to Pukk.

Faiyth says, "I dunno... the judges here seem pretty lax.. people killing other people here daily and only get a couple minutes in jail."

Lylia says, "Our envoys may have a role to play in mending any misunderstanding with Elidal over this wretched excuse of a trial."

Tikba says, "The law is upheld by citizens, and so was the verdict."

Faiyth says, "Seemed about right to me."

Pukk whispers something to Leafiara.

Alendrial says, "With open investigations though, the extent of the Judge's power has been temporarily weakened until the matter is closed, or a new one elected."

Leafiara understandingly says, "I see."

Dwi heartily asks, "Judges only work onna weekends?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hey, me got locked outta town fer overa munf long long time ago fer kiltin fourteen people."

Alendrial says, "I have sent word to Elidal, and while I welcome any words the Envoys wish to have with him, it is not Elidal's approval I am seeking."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna begins, "As to your wondering about the krolvin and reivers... nothing changes with the Ember Vale. They were committed to a battle before, so our taking krolvin refugees, hypothetically right now, isn't going to affect that."

Speaking politely to Alendrial, Tikba agrees, "Nor need it be."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna continues, "And while that might be the case... Dikirk's people are another matter."

Alendrial says, "It is not his vision for Wehnimer's Landing I am pursuing, but mine, and really, ours."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wut it yoo vision Maddam Mayer?"

Casiphia and Thadston's Conditions

Alendrial says, "Lastly, before talk of the krol..."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Weekend work."

Alendrial says, "I want to thank you."

Pukk says, "You're welcome."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yoo welcome."

Alendrial says, "I was not there, but, Thadston and Casiphia are on the mend."

Leafiara understandingly says, "Ahh."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Oh, bout dat, all Casiphia needed washa to take a baff."

Pukk says, "I'm was so happy when I heard that. I wish I was there to see it."

Vaemyr says, "That is excellent news."

Leafiara says, "I believe most of us here did it for them, or at very least I did, but nonetheless you're welcome."

Tikba says, "That is good to hear. We are lucky to have Thadston."

Lylia pointedly says, "Baths should be more common here in general."

Kiyna says, "I am glad to hear neither perished. I was... very worried. Their wounds were grave."

Alendrial says, "Thadston has small bouts of consciousness, his arms were quite ravaged by the, removal of the kroderine. He cannot lift them yet, but with time the healers say he will recover."

Speaking to Lylia, Pukk says, "More baths? Well, you just lost my vote."

Alendrial says, "Casiphia is no longer declining. She is recovering more quickly, which, by next month I would expect her sentence to begin."

Dwi heartily says, "So he'll still be assa ugly assa befer."

Lylia replies, "I am not running for any office again. Yet."

Krolvin Refugees

Alendrial says, "Now the matter of the krolvin."

Alendrial says, "I would hear your thoughts."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me wrote Raelee brudder letter to tell him bout goot news of Casiphia."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Raelee retorts, "You do not even know my brother."

Speaking uncertainly to Gutstorm, Tikba says, "You said you wrote to Elidal."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Pukk asks, "Owly?"

Speaking drunkenly to Raelee, Gutstorm slurs, "Enisius."

Speaking quietly to Raelee, Dwi says, "He dont know his own."

[long pause with no one speaking, at least aloud]

Alendrial asks, "Well?"

Leafiara says, "If the town doesn't take the refugees in, in exchange for payment, Sir Geijon seemed pretty set on taking them in for no cost."

Speaking drunkenly to Tikba, Gutstorm slurs, "Enisius, da Magicpotater."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "I think there is room to discuss the matter of the refugees. How many are there? When can we expect them? Things such as this."

Irval says, "I think that if we took refugees in now. That the Reivers would commit even more to the fighting against Landing versus the Imperials. Im not saying in the future to do it. I am merely saying at this time I think it would create more problems."

Alendrial says, "Unfortunately, we have none of that information."

Alendrial nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara says, "Tyrrax estimated somewhat over a hundred, I think."

Xorus says, "That would make you second in line to the Barony. Perhaps fourth in line."

Speaking heartily to Alendrial, Dwi says, "We shouldnt let Snow Town pawn off any krolbins here...if'n dat's wot yer lookin fer."

Alendrial asks, "I was told, slightly over a hundred?"

Alendrial says, "When? I could not say. I presume soon is the goal."

Tikba says, "That is what Tyrrax told us."

[General] Directed defiantly to Nyaria, Mauss thinks, "...Come make us!! Hmmph."

Speaking drunkenly to Xorus, Gutstorm slurs, "Brudder."

Pukk glances between Gutstorm and Xorus.

Pukk mutters twins.

Speaking in Dwarven, Gutstorm drunkenly slurs something you don't understand.

Alendrial asks, "..and what would Irval, or Councilor Irval, recommend we do?"

Alendrial peers quizzically at Irval.

Speaking sympathetically to Xorus, Dwi says, "Aint much ye kin do now."

Alendrial says, "Voting is still underway, so consider it a campaign question."

Alendrial smirks.

Irval says, "Not Councilor. not yet anyway."

Pukk says, "Oh good. I thought Irval won already."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "I've thought about it, for a while now, and I would like to help them, it could potentially open up further dialogue, even perhaps change them. I know it may make things harder to achieve piece with the Reivers, but perhaps there can be paths forward there too."

Lylia says, "Tyrrax has offered payment in exchange for settling some of his people here; it is more than most have done when seeking refuge within the town or in the region. However, they are not likely to just...settle in easily. They are slavers and warmongers. It is not a question with a facile answer."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Pukk says, "Wow Irval. You've changed."

Speaking heartily to Irval, Dwi says, "Chin up Irbal...I boted fer ye a few times at least."

Tikba carefully says, "The destruction of Glaeve did not seem to weaken Tyrrax's position, but if anything, strengthen it. The need for peace with him is greater than it was, not less."

Irval says, "I think just that it would be prudent on the perception we give the Reivers and to move with caution regarding the refugee's. I don't want the Reivers of the Ember Vale to gain more support from the people of the mountain."

Alendrial points at Tikba.

Irval says, "As in more clans."

Alendrial says, "There is that, yes Tikba."

Lylia indifferently says, "Peace with the reivers is as impossible as peace with the krolvin. Perhaps they should both devour one another like the elesine cat and the bourde dog."

Dwi heartily says, "I boted fer ye same many times."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "For what it's worth, I think this represents a potential, very rocky first step towards mending relations 'twixt reiver and krolvin. It is not a good short-term decision, but the long-term benefits could be immense. I am not dug in on this position, I just think it is something to bear in mind."

Dwi nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking drunkenly to Irval, Gutstorm slurs, "Member, be poticklelal till da election over, den be yeshelf."

Alendrial says, "Perhaps we should find the road to Ember Vale and let the krol settle there."

Alendrial smirks.

Speaking wryly to Lylia, Tikba says, "Perhaps the krolvin would prefer a new settlement closer to Ailidh Brae."

Leafiara says, "It should probably be noted that the refugees were said to be ones unsuited for the sea, which is why they're seeking land homes. They might not be as sturdy, potentially not such a threat."

Speaking in Dwarven, Dwi heartily says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd says, "I'd not expect the Reivers to negotiate with the Landing anymore should they take the refugees in, that much is true."

Lylia suggests, "The other alternative is to eradicate any of them who approach, although it would not win Tyrrax's approval."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kialeigh says, "Irval can be nothing but himself. That's half his charm. He'll never lie. You'll always know exactly where he stands."

Pukk says, "I say everybody should help the krol build a camp right next the the imp camp and then everybody can eat and drink together."

Kialeigh says, "Since he towers over the crowd."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "I would like to stipulate, IF we are to offer them refuge, it will be under the condition that everyone here is free. If any slaves are among them, they will be freed."

Speaking to Perigourd, Lylia says, "I do not believe the Ember Vale has ever negotiated in good faith."

Alendrial says, "Let us be clear. It is of my opinion that the reivers do not actively war with us out of fear, not some twisted honor." [OOC note: As written, this sentence is difficult to parse. I came up with three interpretations, but after speaking with other players, I think the correct interpretation is a different one entirely that Tikba's player offered: Alendrial is saying she believes the Ember Vale avoids warring with the Landing because it fears the Landing, not because it has some kind of honor.]

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Eshplain pleesh."

Speaking helpfully to Gutstorm, Tikba explains, "They think we will kill them."

Speaking heartily to Pukk, Dwi says, "Would make da commoot fer settin em all on fire easier."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna asks, "To clarify, you think they are afraid? Or they aren't?"

Irval asks, "'What fanatics then?"

Faiyth asks, "If not fear of external invaders, why?"

Speaking to Bernadette, Pukk says, "You should get to chopping more trees. That way they can build a camp as quick as the settlers camp."

Alendrial says, "So to angle any response as trying to be sensitive to the Ember Vale, that is only naive. Because whether or not they see us as an enemy, we are an enemy."

Alendrial says, "Our ally is Darkstone. Not Ember Vale."

[General] Sweepy thinks, "Invoker in the Park."

Alendrial says, "I think they are afraid."

Leafiara says, "That poses a problem since Elidal at least claims to want to pursue a path of peace with the Ember Vale."

Alendrial nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Alendrial, Lylia says, "Thank you! Would that people would listen."

Speaking to Leafiara, Perigourd says, "Indeed."

Alendrial says, "I have not said I would not welcome peace."

Alendrial nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara ponders.

Alendrial says, "But if the Ember Vale remains at war with our ally, then so do we with them."

Alendrial says, "If they strike peace, I would do nothing to upend it."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "I agree that the Ember Vale's stance will not change no matter what we do. I do worry that the other people of the mountain may be roused to violence by this. That may be a risk we take."

[General] Crimsoneve thinks, "South gate is clear."

Faiyth says, "I doubt Ember Vale would trust much of anything that comes from them. They're still trying to find way to double cross."

Leafiara says, "Many layers to maneuver with, then."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me friend of me enemy is me friend?"

Xorus whispers something to Lylia.

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "I would expect those in government to be aware already."

Speaking mildly to Perigourd, Tikba says, "Surely the Empire would not begrudge us peace and safety."

Leafiara says, "Tyeid's no doubt searching for a way to double cross. I have doubts that any of the rest of them are."

Lylia whispers something to Xorus.

Alendrial asks, "What did he say of the krolvin he seeks to bring here?"

[General] Nyaria thinks, "Storm clouds moving into the landing."

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "Tyrrax has already made it clear that he has no affection for the settlers either, and may even target them after the reivers themselves."

Speaking in Dwarven, Dwi heartily says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk asks, "Maybe the krolvin can settle into Arachne's temple?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me and Xorus foller da paff of da pashtafisht till he kin get da Malkil Goril or wotever he werkin on to werk."

Speaking thoughtfully to Alendrial, Tikba says, "As was mentioned before, he said they were too weak for a shipboard life."

Speaking to Alendrial, Leafiara says, "He implied they were unsuited for the sea."

Alendrial nods.

Speaking to Alendrial, Tikba says, "They were those who stayed home in Glaeve, not those who raided our coasts."

Alendrial asks, "So old, infirm krolvin? Women and children?"

Tikba mildly says, "It is unclear how many of the refugees may be slaves."

Leafiara says, "A possibility, but not a certainty."

Alendrial says, "So refugees, and if betrayed, hostages."

Alendrial smirks.

Speaking heartily to Alendrial, Dwi says, "Old krolscum prolley hadda LOTTA slabes."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "I am told there would be more than just krolvin among them. Possibly slaves. They will of course be -former- slaves if we take them in."

Speaking dubiously to Alendrial, Lylia says, "What would taking in their weak refuse do for the town, however? I suppose, as a kind of bargaining chip..."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "So yes, as both a councilor now and a candidate, I do think we should offer them shelter, on contingency that they will hold no slaves here and any slaves will be freed. It'll be rocky, for sure... but it's worth a try to see if there's another path besides just killing each other."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Arnt dey Icemool prollem now?"

Tikba says, "I understand that many have fled to Icemule as well."

Lylia says, "That is what I heard as well. And some to Solhaven."

Leafiara says, "Hmm, I don't recall Tyrrax suggesting there would be any slaves among the refugees."

Speaking mildly to Leafiara, Tikba says, "No, he would not."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Icemule rescued quite a number I believe."

Leafiara adds, "Not that I can write off the possibility."

Dwi heartily says, "Snow Town's emeny issa emeny o' dem udder emenies."

Lylia points out, "I would imagine any slaves took this opportunity to free themselves and are even now moving quietly into new lives."

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara considers, "Right, but on the other hand, why be overly concerned with the well-being of slaves to offer payment? They could be sent elsewhere that the krolvin make homes."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Indead of wealth, what if that was our price then? for him to free slaves among his ships."

Location, Location, Location

Alendrial says, "I worry less on providing aid, and more on where they reside."

[General] Pukk thinks, "We are all in the orchard talking to Mayor Alendrial."

Alendrial says, "Within our walls may invite more division and trouble than we can afford right now."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "Pends onna how long dey been kept likka dat."

Leafiara says, "This is definitely not the time for within our walls."

Kialeigh says, "Maybe make them aid in the development of darkstone."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "A temporary camp close at hand but without our walls, yes."

Kialeigh says, "Earn their room and board."

Lylia says, "For many slaves who were rescued, this is an opportunity for freedom -- a gain, not a loss."

Alendrial asks, "Darkstone built a camp, why can't we?"

Alendrial smirks.

Leafiara says, "That night, Sir Geijon suggested the village out by the Lysierian Hills where other krolvin are already dwelling."

Pukk says, "That's what I've been saying..."

Lylia says, "They would be easy to observe from that vantage."

Leafiara adds, "Though I don't mind a camp either."

Leafiara chuckles.

Kialeigh says, "It would need well protected."

Kialeigh says, "It would be a target for Ember Vale."

Alendrial says, "The only concern there Leafiara is, perhaps we have a chance to alter the trajectory for some of them."

Vaemyr says, "I think a camp perhaps on the east side of the river, near the path to voln or such. Could be a reasonable location."

Leafiara nods at Alendrial.

Pukk says, "Leafiara is always a concern."

Alendrial says, "Krolvin not fit for sea are still not without a voice among their brethren."

Tikba carefully says, "A krolvin camp across the river would no doubt be under attack from the reivers soon, and often."

Leafiara thoughtfully says, "The other side of the river would bring them too close to the reivers, but on this side of the river would require negotiation with Elidal, which seems... tenuous at best."

Faiyth says, "We sure don't need any more pirates in this town."

Alendrial says, "I thought near the sands, I would have to review maps. It is hard to keep track of where Elidal has colored in."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna agrees, "It will of course become a target for the Ember Vale. But that means we can construct the camp with that in mind."

Tikba says, "We would not be able to leave them without defenses."

Pukk asks, "Maybe the refugee krolvin's bark is worse than it's bite?"

Leafiara says, "Oh, if the sands aren't the barony's territory, that would work."

Tikba mildly admits, "For my part, if we must one day have war with the Ember Vale, it may as well be soon, and over quickly."

Lylia says, "We do not owe them protection as well. Are we not already offering it to Elidal's settlement? And we have our own town to protect. The sands may be an ideal choice as Tyrrax himself could offer them protection by sea."

Speaking to Lylia, Kiyna says, "I was going to say much the same."

Xorus says, "The Ember Vale kills the refugees, we tell Tyrrax the Ember Vale killed them. This has a certain economy to it."

Irval says, "If we are planning on taking in the refugee's. We will provoke an attack from the Reivers."

[General] Adelynn asks, "What orchard?"

Alendrial says, "We are not sharpening enemies to kill other enemies any longer."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "The reivers will attack us anyway."

Alendrial nods at Xorus.

[General] Leafiara thinks, "The Moot Hall orchard."

Irval says, "Agreed."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "But...price o' crab's'd go up."

Irval says, "But they might attack with more gusto."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "Particularly if we ensured that the weapons given to the Ember Vale were planted alongside the corpses."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "Hmm that isn't a bad area either. The coastal cliffs and black sands are north of the imperial territory."

Adelynn wryly remarks, "Never knew there was an orchard here."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "They will not suddenly become more formidable foes because they are upset. Angry foes make more mistakes, not less."

Pukk says, "We find a camp for the refugees, away from town. We offer them food and support. We give Irval to Tyrrax as a show of good faith."

Pukk says, "Everybody wins."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "Hah perhaps even a good location to start with if we choose to expand the towns reach."

Alendrial smirks at Pukk.

Speaking nonchalantly to Pukk, Adelynn remarks, "Could give -me- to Tyrrax instead."

Faiyth says, "If we're just using the refugees to start a further war you might as well just put their camp right outside the Ember Vale."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Bet ye know wot's past dem clouds."

Faiyth says, "Let the savages fight the pirates.."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "If'n not...ask Gazer."

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm slurs, "Shtars?h."

Speaking to Adelynn, Faiyth says, "We don't want him madder than he was before."

Speaking to Adelynn, Faiyth asks, "Nor do we want you sent home in pieces.. or do we?"

Adelynn coyly replies, "I assure you, he would not be madder when I was finished."

Leafiara says, "Mmm, if only Tyrrax had given a better idea of exactly how much treasure he was willing to offer--the level of resources to work with while still getting some benefit out of this with anything left over."

Kiyna says, "If asked to vote right now, I would be for accepting the refugees. I would like to discuss it some more, and I could be convinced otherwise, but... I am optimistic."

A Decision Reached

Alendrial says, "We'll take their refugees. We'll establish a small camp for them along the Black Sands. Close to the sea, but still close to our home. We will not have to police our own people in trying to protect the krolvin, but we are not also merciless and refusing to help. But yes, there will be no slaves. Any prisoner that steps foot on the shoreline is equally ours to protect. In addition, the krolvin will work. They may not be fit for the sea, but they can help fish, clean the catches, bundle supplies, provide a measure of effort to help benefit the town."

Faiyth says, "Well if ye have the same effect on him as you do other men... yeah he'll come murder us all."

Pukk says, "I just want what is best for this town. I don't want us to have to fend off any more attacks from anybody."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me not wanna chop down no more tree."

Lylia agrees, "Turning them away would cost more than granting them space near the town. If, of course, it is ours to grant."

Dwi heartily asks, "Maybe we kin make em a camp outta krolbin hides?"

Speaking to Pukk, Udari says, "I dont think we get that option."

Leafiara approvingly says, "This seems a pretty wise move given the incomplete knowledge we have of the full situation."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "That proposal has my support."

Speaking disparagingly to Faiyth, Adelynn comments, "I don't know who you are, or where you've come from, but it's clear you know little of me."

Irval says, "Thats going to be a target of oppurtunity for the Reivers if we do that."

Alendrial nods.

Speaking amusedly to Lylia, Tikba says, "That which we place our feet upon is ours."

Alendrial says, "Everything is a target of the reivers."

Alendrial nods at Irval.

Speaking helpfully to Faiyth, Adelynn suggests, "Might I suggest keeping quiet until you're more familiar with citizens of the town?"

Irval says, "Maybe we can use that to set a trap."

Speaking to Adelynn, Faiyth says, "I dunno you at all. I only met you last night and the response from the people I talked to left me thinking we better not anger him."

Irval says, "Before we actually move the refugees there."

Alendrial says, "To not do what is right, out of fear of the reivers, is unacceptable."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "That's not a terrible idea."

Speaking to Tikba, Lylia says, "Then I shall need much, much larger boots."

Speaking to Alendrial, Goldstr says, "I woulds say d aVale Nae all reivers."

Speaking in Dwarven, Gutstorm drunkenly slurs something you don't understand.

Dwi heartily says, "Jock knows how to throw a party."

Speaking to Kiyna, Irval says, "Err...thanks."

Adelynn whispers something to Leafiara.

Alendrial gazes up into the heavens.

Tikba says, "When Tyrrax returns, I will inform him that we are pleased to welcome his fellows as citizens of the Landing, though not within the Landing."

Leafiara whispers something to Adelynn.

Alendrial says, "Send word, if you can. Do not wait for him to return."

Alendrial nods at Tikba.

Tikba nods slowly at Alendrial.

Kiyna says, "There will be pushback from our own citizens. And from the Remnants, of course. They'll use this to recruit."

Alendrial says, "Those couriers are surprisingly efficient in their reach."

Tikba says, "I will attempt it."

Leafiara says, "He got word to us once from sea, so there's probably a way." [OOC translation: "Tyrrax" (actually a disobedient subordinate of his) once sent player mail to the previous town council.]

Speaking to Tikba, Pukk says, "You should take Irval with you. He has a way with words."

Alendrial nods at Kiyna.

Adelynn whispers something to Leafiara.

Alendrial says, "There is always pushback."

Faiyth says, "Only if you want Tyrrax even more upset."

Alendrial says, "The moment there is no pushback, is the moment I know I've truly erred."

Perigourd says, "Would that the Landing has shown this kind of support for other groups of refugees trying to survive in the surrounding environs."

Perigourd grumbles.

Faiyth says, "Irval might greet him with a blade."

Speaking to Kiyna, Lylia says, "I am certain you are right about that. The Remnants, I mean."

Alendrial asks, "Have we not?"

Alendrial peers quizzically at Perigourd.

Speaking to Alendrial, Perigourd says, "No, not as such."

Speaking to Perigourd, Pukk says, "Seems like that camp got built quick enough."

Udari says, "I heard Tyrrax visited a few days back."

Speaking to Pukk, Perigourd says, "Indeed, but not by many here."

Speaking to Perigourd, Pukk says, "More than you think."

Irval asks, "He come by portal?"

Alendrial says, "Do not confuse the Landing as a whole, to the likes of perhaps the Thorns."

Alendrial nods at Perigourd.

Speaking to Udari, Lylia says, "He did."

Speaking to Alendrial, Perigourd says, "I'm considering Rooks as much as anyone."

Speaking in Dwarven, Gutstorm drunkenly slurs something you don't understand.

Speaking to Alendrial, Dendum asks, ""How is husband?"

Speaking to Lylia, Udari says, "I heard about no bloodshed so it must have been a diplomatic encounter."

Speaking to Perigourd, Kiyna says, "A group here to join the Landing and one here to rule it are hardly comparable."

Adelynn pointedly asks, "The real question is, are we expected to care for these refugees out of our own coffers? Or are we housing them, and the care is at the expense of the krolvin fleet?"

Speaking to Udari, Lylia says, "Yes, that was my understanding as well."

Speaking to Adelynn, Leafiara says, "They're offering payment."

Speaking to Perigourd, Kiyna says, "I have been supportive of the settlers - just not of their barony."

Speaking to Arahnim, Faiyth says, "Just sit over there and keep looking sexy."

Speaking to Perigourd, Vaemyr says, "Many people have defended the settlers, and they are settlers not refugees, we have given them a considerable amount of support and defense."

Alendrial says, "We have aided them in the dead of winter, we fought alongside them against murderous enemies, we've feasted together, conspired together."

Adelynn plainly asks, "Then what's the problem?"

Alendrial says, "Barbed words don't change your history."

Alendrial nods at Dendum.

Alendrial says, "Nor mine."

Alendrial shrugs.

Pukk says, "I have died defending them as well. The settlers that is."

Dendum says, "Who is this we? Have not seen a De'archon hunt for food for the settlers."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "'She married to Shtephos?"

Faiyth says, "We all got history in this town... I still say we need less pirates not more."

Speaking to Adelynn, Lylia says, "I do not think we are expected to care for them from our own coffers. They are a seafaring people, even those who remain mostly ashore; they can fare well on the black strand."

Leafiara pragmatically says, "Maybe we should focus on the current situation instead of past grievances or differences of opinion."

Leafiara adds, "...or we'll be here all night."

Lylia diplomatically says, "A wife is not her husbands, nor a husband his wives."

Irval says, "At least in this setting."

Tikba wryly says, "Then we must turn to Dendum's question."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Always the pragmatist."

Speaking to Leafiara, Lylia says, "Hear, hear."

Stephos Situation

Tikba asks, "How is Stephos DeArchon?"

Speaking wryly to Leafiara, Adelynn asks, "Isn't that always the case? Hours of in-fighting, minutes of actual purpose?"

Alendrial says, "It is my understanding, Tyrrax will offer to pay for their upkeep. But if he agrees, part of the agreement will be the krolvin will work, and that will benefit our town."

Alendrial says, "We may know more tomorrow. So be ready."

Alendrial nods at Tikba.

Lylia recalls, "He did promise treasure for making space for them."

Speaking to Alendrial, Leafiara asks, "Know more of Stephos?"

Alendrial nods.

Leafiara surprisedly says, "Ah. Good to hear, then."

Leafiara nods.

Speaking to Alendrial, Tikba agrees, "I will be, Lady Mayor."

Faiyth asks, "Decision made. We invite the pirates to stay on the sands. How do we protect them from the Ember Vale? We leave that to Tyrrax?"

Speaking drunkenly to Lylia, Gutstorm slurs, "But here way me think, if she got bad tashte it men, it call inta question her joodgement to be a good mayer."

Udari says, "Human settlers. Now sea monkeys."

Speaking to Alendrial, Lylia quips, "If you need to earn more silvers, perhaps we could offer this to everyone who needs somewhere to stay -- selling off parcels of land that are not ours but are near enough that we can get away with it."

Speaking to Alendrial, Adelynn inquires, "So the only problem with us offering them shelter is how the Ember Vale will react?"

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr asks, "Speaking of Stephos, did you hear anything back about the official request to have him transfered?"

Speaking to Udari, Faiyth asks, "Way to surround ourselves with enemies right?"

Speaking rhetorically to Faiyth, Leafiara asks, "Same as ever: people interested in helping help and people not interested don't?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dere shum shilver in da fountain ere."

Lylia lightly says, "All we need are more terrible disasters..."

Udari says, "Our town is very generous."

Alendrial glances at Lylia.

Speaking to Udari, Faiyth says, "Depends who's in favor."

Mauss muses, "We checked ballista bolts lately?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Tikba says, "I fear I have not received word yet."

Speaking to Faiyth, Udari says, "That is yet to be seen."

Speaking drunkenly to Mauss, Gutstorm slurs, "Bernie check em everyday."

Faiyth says, "Tomorrow we may hate the settlers and love the Reivers."

Speaking to Bernadette, Pukk asks, "Did you?"

Alendrial asks, "Would a Mayor Lylia have done it differently? Would you flay the children and infirm krolvin and use their bones to adorn a ship and set sail to finish off Glaeve?"

Faiyth says, "Every day is a new day."

Alendrial peers quizzically at Lylia.

Bernadette softly says, "Did."

Bernadette softly says, "Once a week I does."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Bernie da besht Miltiaisht da town gotted."

Speaking to Mauss, Pukk says, "She's the ballista commander."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "Bones make bad ballast."

(Lylia's smile fades and she addresses the mayor's question with more gravity.)

Speaking to Bernadette, Mauss says, "Cause I think we've alla seen this stage-show before. Somethin' happens, someone gits upset, the ballistas git busy quick."

Speaking to Alendrial, Lylia says, "I thought at one time that I might, but that would seem the less realistic choice. We gain more by making way for them than by eradicating them."

Tikba amusedly says, "My understanding is that Mayor Rashere herself had a plan once to sell off land we did not own in pursuit of a greater benefit."

Lylia coolly adds, "For now."

Bernadette softly says, "Dats wot dey is dere fer."

Alendrial nods.

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Dwi says, "She's jus tryin to steal yer goat."

Speaking pragmatically to Lylia, Adelynn agrees, "All about what we stand to gain."

Speaking to Tikba, Lylia says, "Mayor Rashere would have made all this land ours. If I had had a more willing Town Council then..."

Lylia gives a sigh of resignation.

Alendrial says, "In hindsight, I wish..."

Alendrial nods at Lylia.

Lylia smiles at Alendrial.

Alendrial says, "How much could it have solved."

Alendrial frowns.

Pukk says, "Too bad we didn't extend our walls then."

Speaking drunkenly to Alendrial, Gutstorm slurs, "Me not wanna tell anyone wot me shaw, but da other day when me reschooin lil krolvin kid, Lylia and Xorus were offa da beaten trail wit a refugee, when me check back on dem, make shure dem dokay, krolvin feller gone, and me shaw a shoe next to da bushesh."

Leafiara says, "It's not as if you were alone on the town council, regardless." [The others were Beldrin, Pylasar, and Thadston at the time in question.]

Alendrial says, "Goodnight everyone. Get some rest, I may be in need of your help tomorrow."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "I'm sure it would of had it's own problems, but it is, what it is. We can only move forward now."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "Goodnight, Mayor."

Tikba says, "Be well, Mayor."

Lylia sincerely says, "Thank you. We must now take the long view, though, and I agree your course is both sensible and...kind. It will earn you, and thereby our town, a great deal."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Prolley ran outta it."

Adelynn offhandedly remarks, "Besides, I wouldn't complain about some roughened pirate krol causing a ruckus at Helga's ..."

Missoni wishes, "Fair eve."

Faiyth says, "As soon as it rains... we'll come running."

Lylia adds, "And cost us little as the Ember Vale already sees us as an enemy."

Alendrial agrees with Lylia.

Alendrial says, "Let us hope we earn and do not burn."

Alendrial smirks.

Alendrial waves.

Mayor Alendrial just went into a carved wooden door.

Discussion Afterward

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Mememer when ye drag'd me off frem da loot locashun? Not one to talk."

Irval says, "I still think we need to deal with the Reivers post haste especially for the settlement we wish to have the refugee's live in."

Tikba amusedly says, "The lady mayor is still a refreshing change of pace."

Leafiara idly says, "It's almost alarming how calm these discussions are now with Alendrial instead of Thadston."

Speaking to Lylia, Xorus asks, "That sounded an awful lot like 'you were right.' Did you notice it?"

Lylia says, "She was an outstanding choice."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Unfortunately, it's not as though we can hasten the process in its current form."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dwi, me am got focus on shavin folk."

Dendum says, "Well the other De'archon was charged for arming the Krolvin....this one at least does it in the open."

Irval says, "What about that big weapon."

Speaking amusedly to Leafiara, Adelynn asks, "No furniture being thrown?"

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "Oh, you know I notice whenever someone says those three sweet little words to me."

Irval says, "The Reiver Bolt."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Plus all the chairs we are saving money on now."

Kialeigh exclaims, "Not a single desk through a window!"

Irval says, "Reiver gone."

Kialeigh says, "I'm almost sad to see it go."

Speaking to Leafiara, Udari says, "I do miss the chairs being thrown and desks going through the windows."

Kialeigh says, "I'm sure the furniture man is too."

Goldstr says, "We do help dose in need, even Krol, Till dey move agin us."

Irval says, "I understand that their is still an exchange to make."

Speaking heartily to Udari, Dwi says, "I gotta nice drawer."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "That's on Leyan, yes."

Speaking to Kialeigh, Mauss says, "Jus' think how upset da glaziers mus' be."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Were it in my power, I would have it dismantled by the morning. What a horrible thing to have hanging above Glatoph."

Lylia says, "But we must look forward. And looking forward, Alendrial has charted a narrow, daring, but logical course. I am quite pleased she is in the mayoral office."

Irval says, "I was surprised."

Irval says, "Given her history."

Speaking mildly to Kiyna, Tikba says, "It would be best to have that weapon closer to hand, to be sure."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi asks, "Nardogical?"

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "It'll be a rocky trip probably, but I also agree with the course."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Should it not be calt....HERshtory?"

Speaking to Mauss, Kialeigh says, "The economy has really taken a turn for the worse with all the furniture still viable..."

Pukk exclaims, "And nobody shot Irval with an arrow! Tonight was a surprise!"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Lylia says, "I am almost alarmed at how much agreement there is."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Tonite not over."

Speaking to Pukk, Adelynn says, "It's not too late."

Speaking to Pukk, Kiyna says, "I could still shoot him, if he wants."

Irval says, "And I am in a room full of Rooks."

Speaking to Pukk, Kialeigh says, "It's still early."

Irval says, "Crazy things are happening."

Udari asks, "Where?"

Irval exclaims, "Make sure to vote!"

Leafiara uncertainly says, "I think I only count three Rooks unless you know something I don't."

Speaking brightly to Irval, Adelynn exclaims, "Nothing wrong with that!"

Leafiara glances suspiciously at Irval.

Kialeigh says, "Crazy is half the fun."

Adelynn offhandedly remarks, "I've thought once or twice about falling in with the Rooks myself."

Speaking heartily to Pukk, Dwi says, "Hunnert silber if'n ye tossa a chair outta da new Mayer's winder."

Faiyth says, "Wouldn't that be the biggest double cross ever!? If IRVAL was the new mother."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk asks, "Would you like to join the rooks?"

Speaking to Adelynn, Kiyna says, "Easier to do now than ever. We're right here in the open."

Tikba says, "Irval is right that the krolvin will make all the discussions with the reivers more difficult."

Speaking to Pukk, Raelee says, "No."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Rook tryta recroot me, but me told dem me to aweshum fer dem cult, and me need hazard pay."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk says, "You say no but your eyes say."

Speaking brightly to Kiyna, Adelynn exclaims, "Well, tell me more!"

Pukk says, "No."

Pukk says, "Okay."

Tikba says, "We must prepare Elidal for this difficulty to come."

Speaking flatly to Pukk, Raelee says, "Correct."

Speaking amusedly to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Hey, I gave you that mask for free."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk says, "Just thought I would ask."

Speaking to Adelynn, Kiyna says, "Pukk is our recruitment officer. He can tell you all about it."

Udari says, "Maybe the krolvin will do our dirty work for us."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Faiyth says, "You really should join. I'm told they have great drinks."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Faiyth says, "It might be yer last though."

Speaking wryly to Kiyna, Adelynn asks, "The guy that thinks he's funny?"

Speaking earnestly to Adelynn, Leafiara says, "Listen, I know he's Pukk, but he's really, really good at his job."

Speaking to Udari, Lylia says, "That is entirely possible, yes."

Udari says, "Krovlin and reivers fight. We pick of the suvivors."

Speaking to Tikba, Irval says, "I think discussion comes off the table and if they arrive before the exchange. I doubt that exchange will be anything but."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk says, "I know how much you enjoy my company."

Speaking quietly to Haggess, Dwi says, "He too chicken."

Speaking dryly to Pukk, Raelee asks, "Not at all?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "You say it like you are surprised."

Vaemyr says, "Yes, Voting is still open for two? more days, make sure you vote. We need the good folks of Wehnimer's to exercise those rights that the imperials seem to find so puzzling haha."

Kialeigh says, "Pukk is very funny. He keeps us all from angrily tearing each other to shreds."

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara says, "I'm not, but she might be."

Kialeigh says, "He's a true peacemaker."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk says, "Yes, about that."

A clerk decked in livery of Wehnimer's Landing sighs thankfully as they carry a chair through the area.
