Skin a snake fang
Other

The fearsome product of magical experimentation, the necrotic snake is larger than most men. Rotting scales cover the length of the undead reptile in a diamond pattern formed of various hues of brown, gold, and black. Large gashes in the snake's side reveal thin rib bones and the carcasses of previous meals, while leaking rancid fumes into the surrounding air.

Other information

  • The necrotic snake can poison its opponent after it delivers a successful hit.
  • The necrotic snake does further damage to its victim's body after it kills.
  • Skinning the snake for its fang can poison the skinner. Survival training and the Skinning spell will provide protection against it. If pricked, the skinner is subjected to a hidden poison check, which incorporates things like First Aid, CON, Physical Training, the Poison Resist (105) spell, etc. Getting pricked or not has no bearing on chance to skin or the quality of the skin.

Necrotic snakes have two creature maneuvers: poison spit and a constriction move.

  • The poison spit maneuver will lower the target's AS by 30 and poison the victim. An example of the necrotic snake's poison spit maneuver:
A necrotic snake rises up and spits a glob of disgusting white spittle directly at your eyes!
You twist to avoid the venomous spittle, but your action comes a moment too late. While some of the vile fluid is deflected by your armor, much of it strikes you squarely in the face! Your hands instinctively rise to wipe the spit away as a painful burning sensation explodes in your eyes.
   ... 1 point of damage!
Drop of acid gets in your eye! Better flush it out.
You are stunned for 1 round!
You feel a fierce poison coursing through your veins!
Roundtime: 6 sec.
  • The constriction maneuver lasts several rounds. The victim is rooted. An example of the necrotic snake's constriction maneuver:
A necrotic snake suddenly springs towards you with lightning speed!
You are unable to get out of the way as the snake coils tightly around you, holding you in place!

A necrotic snake's coils tighten around you, squeezing the life out of you!
   ... 10 points of damage!
Strike to the eye clips the eyebrow.
You are stunned for 1 round!

>se
You don't seem to be able to move your legs to do that.

A necrotic snake's coils tighten around you, squeezing the life out of you!
   ... 3 points of damage!
Blow raises a welt on your left arm.

You're finally able to break free of the snake's coils!

Messaging

A necrotic snake coils into a large mass of smelly, rotting scales and gazes contently about the area.

A necrotic snake wraps itself around your right hand, every coil applying a greater pressure until the air is filled with the horrifying *SNAP* of your bones!

A necrotic snake stretches its full rotting length in imitation of a distant memory of sunning itself on warm days prior to death.

A necrotic snake hisses and whips its tail violently against the ground.

A small marsh deer suddenly squeezes out from between two exposed ribs in the a necrotic snake's side and bounds away to freedom!

A necrotic snake coils slowly backward, then darts forward in a lightning-fast strike at something nearby! As it draws back, a large opossum is seized in its maw, which is quickly encompassed by the snake's crushing coils. Over the next few moments, the opossum is slowly swallowed to the sound of crunching bones and fruitless squeals of pain.
