Other ?

The war griffin is a magnificent beast, as if designed by the gods to embody fierce and graceful predation. Its front legs, forebody, wings, and head are those of a great eagle, complete with large golden feathers and aquiline beak. The rear half of the creature's body is that of a powerful lion, with short white fur and a long feline tail. Trained by its captors to enhance its fighting prowess, the massive war griffin is poetry in motion, its beautiful ferocity the last sight its foes ever see.[1]

Hunting strategies

  • Armor with impact resistance lessens the damage taken from being dropped.

Other information

War griffins have several creature maneuvers.

One is the wing swat, which can change the target's stance and stack the target in roundtime:

A war griffin swoops down over you, buffeting you with its wings!
One of the griffin's wings swats the side of your head with a stinging blow, and you reel as stars appear before your eyes!
Roundtime: 44 sec.

A war griffin flaps its mighty wings rapidly, creating a powerful gust of wind that buffets the area!
The wind knocks you off your balance and you fall over!
Your arms are forced down to your sides!

Another maneuver war griffins have is swooping down to pick you up in its claws, then flying off to drop you somewhere randomly in the area.

A war griffin dives down and hooks its claws into you! With a great flap of its wings the war griffin carries you into the air!

Within moments you find yourself soaring over the ground far below!

Then being dropped (died from the bloodloss)...

The griffin quickly swoops down and releases you several feet above the ground, and you flail awkwardly before landing with a dull **THUD**!

Some mercurially shifting armor shrouded in a swirling ashen mist is overwhelmed by the onslaught of the impact attack.
   ... 25 points of damage!
Strong blow to your right leg breaks it!
After what seems like an eternity, you feel the griffin's grip loosen and it drops your hapless corpse in an awkward heap.

Armor that has resistance to impact attacks will help reduce the damage taken from being dropped. Whereas sonic armor will increase the severity, as shown above.
