But a shadow of its former self, the warrior shade's form is hardly discernable as it flickers in and out of view. But a shadow of its former self, the warrior shade's form is hardly discernable as it flickers in and out of view. At times strange ripples of ethereal light roll across its spectral image, highlighting every horrible scar and festering wound on the shade's translucent body. Its gaunt face stares out from under a ghostly helm, though nothing but deep, hollow pits for eyes can be seen, soulless and unforgiving in their regard.
Hunting strategies
- Beware. Remember to bring a weapon that you don't not care much for, as the warrior shade has the ability to disarm your weapon and knock it to the ground. In addition, the warrior shade has the ability to loot your corpse of any weapons and shields.
An example of the warrior shade's looting:
A warrior shade strides silently over to Skyshock's corpse, its ghostly hands quickly passing over his body.
The shade grabs Skyshock's shield!
Other information
- The warrior shade has the ability to disappear upon being swung or casted at, allowing them to hide from the next attack. An example of the warrior shade's disappearing:
Just as Skyshock moves to attack, the warrior shade vanishes into nothingness with a hollow laugh!
- The warrior shade also has the ability to swing either two or three times, in rapid succession; however, this does not happen all the time. An example of the warrior shade's double swinging ability:
>
A warrior shade swings a twisted modwir-shafted halberd at you!
AS: +295 vs DS: +377 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +81 = +28
A clean miss.
The warrior shade whales away, consumed with bloodlust!
A warrior shade swings a twisted modwir-shafted halberd at you!
AS: +312 vs DS: +377 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +10 = -26
A clean miss.
...and again!
A warrior shade swings a twisted modwir-shafted halberd at you!
AS: +325 vs DS: +377 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +17 = -6
A clean miss.
- The warrior shade has the ability to disarm an adventurer's weapon, resulting in roundtime as long as 20 seconds. An example of the warrior shade's disarm ability:
A warrior shade swings a twisted modwir-shafted halberd at your tree limb runestaff and connects!
A warrior shade fails to knock the runestaff away!
- Warrior shades will decay very quickly when killed (approximately upon their next turn), making it tricky to obtain loot if you are under hard roundtime (i.e. from swinging a melee weapon). This may make hunting warrior shades more suitable for spellcasters, who primarily undergo Cast roundtime during battle.
