The Ninefold Tale of Revelia

I. Revelia is a faraway land where the denizens honor their beloved patron Cholen, and the first of his servants Tilamaire, as well as his brother Jastev throughout the year.

II. Cholen and Tilamaire first observed that there were corners of Elanith that lacked for song and revelry, and set out to bring their light to these dark places.

III. To bring their idea to the mortal realm, they prevailed upon Cholen’s brother Jastev to reveal their desires to those mortals most able to remedy the need, the people of Revelia.

IV. For the favor of relaying this revelation to the mortals, Jastev included his own geas to the mortals, that they would not neglect the visual arts as well as those of his kin.

V. The revelations came to the people of Revelia in nine separate omens, each embodied within a different sphere of the influences of the three Arkati.

VI. The Firsts of Revelia convened a council to study the omens and discern how best to spread the Arkati’s wishes.

VII. The nine councilmembers spent nine days in seclusion, the council returned with their decree.

VIII. Each year, Nine Muses of Revelia were to be selected from among the people to embody the wishes of the Arkati and to spread the love of art, music, dance and all things that bring joy to dark places

IX. After many years, all of Revelia was lit with joy and now the Nine Muses finally begin to travel the rest of Elanith to bring the favor of the Arkati to the nine corners of the world...

Locations

The Revelia Carnivale sponsors will create an oasis of festivity around the Town Well in Wehnimer's Landing, complete with a stage, decorations, seating and more! Local hosts are invited to use this area to host their own contributions to the Revelia spirit! See the schedule for venue details for each specific event.

Little Revelia

A Revelian Gathering Place	(Lich # 8668)	Just a few magical steps northwest of the stage, a circle of fragrant hay bales adorned with festive bunting awaits! Need something a little more intimate for your event? How about some comfy and rustic haybales for a storytelling or casual mixer?
Outdoor Artistic Inspiration	(Lich # 8667)	Gather at the northernmost point of Little Revelia to use a scattering of simple modwir worktables adorned with festive bunting for all your crafty pursuits! A perfect location for your workshops, classes, and seminars!
Celebration Under the Old Oak Tree	(Lich # 8666)	Gaily decorated, some colorful ribbon streamers draped from the branches of the oak tree provide the perfect backdrop for a Revelian soiree! Party the night away amid festive Revelia decorations! Look here for a special traveling encore from the Cairnfang Manor Grand Art Exhibition, a new addition for 5122's Revelia Carnivale!

(Please help as many people as possible receive work by having your design ready ahead of time and ensuring that it meets all ALTER guidelines. Traiva and many others will be available to provide assistance prior to the artisan's arrival.)

2:00PM	The Art of Critique	Caeruil Atelier	Grand Art Exhibit tent (precise location forthcoming)	What makes a piece of art good? What makes it better? Both artists and art aficionados are invited to join Caeruil Atelier for a workshop on effective methods of constructive critiques. The host will explain the purpose of a critique, demonstrate what things to look for, and then lead a group critique of artwork on display in the Grand Art Exhibit tent. Artists are welcome to bring their own works for constructive feedback in lieu of the exhibits!
5:00PM - 7:00PM	Revelia Gala	House Paupers	House Paupers - Hall of Lore (follow the trail of dancing shoes from Wehnimer's Landing Town Square Southwest)	New for 5123! Fashion is art, so be a living canvas and show it off! This year's theme is Wearable Art - show us what that means to you as we celebrate the end of Revelia Carnivale and dance the evening away.
