Distinct features are difficult to determine as clouds of ash obscure the form of the ash guardian.  What is visible is a towering humanoid shadow that drifts through the ash clouds.

Hunting Strategies

Should be dealt with before killing any blazing red phoenixes in the same room. The Guardian will protect the phoenix allowing it to perform its rebirth more easily.

An ash guardian moves to protect the fallen phoenix.  Two ember eyes briefly flicker in the guardian's otherwise blank face.

The ashen remains of the phoenix smolder fitfully.  Slowly, the flakes begin to drift upward, swirling in a widening gyre thick with smoke and sparks.  Then, in an explosive blast of scalding brilliance, the burning ash is forcefully scattered by the violent, glorious rebirth of a blazing red phoenix!
