Synopsis

Mother assembles the Rooks at Moot Hall and a crowd of townspeople comes to watch too as she says the freedom of Wehnimer's Landing is threatened and the Brotherhood sought to be prepared to respond to the rearing head of tyranny and to stand as the last bastion for Wehnimer's independence if needed. She says the Imperials won't be contained to the river and in time will turn their eyes further north to claim another port and then Icemule Trace.

She asks who will stand for freedom and gives masks to those who join her. Tolmis also mentions that the Rooks saved his life and there's no reason not to stand with them to serve the better interests of the Landing.

Irval asks where the Rooks were during Gnul's attack. Kelfyr, Councilor Kiyna, Councilor Kayse, Leafiara, Drektor, Councilor Pookia, and Chandrellia point out the Rooks were there helping, but as Irval disregards all of them, the gathered townspeople are less diplomatic and start throwing stones at him until Mother gets them to stop. Tolmis reminds that he was there too.

Mother asks if everyone has wondered how the mountain alliance so quickly came together and says the Imperials have studied the Landing and brought a man of magic who manipulates minds and eyes, then distracts everyone with a fancy scroll (the signup sheet to study Melgorehn's Reach and Darkstone Castle) and gives the Landing an enemy so it ignores that the Empire is also one. Tolmis says he was misled by promises of glory in service to the Empire, but his dreams became a nightmare under a terrible man who acted opposite of his duty to a throne that cares for no one beneath it.

Mother says that when next we speak of the encroaching enemy, it will come with a warning that the Empire and its child Baron should not ignore. Councilor Vaemyr cautions against violence as it will cause backlash, but Mother asks what could happen: the Imperials come even closer when they're already at the gates? Kayse says an attack will draw a counterattack and we'll pay for blood with blood, but Mother says we're already bleeding resources, people, and our very spirit by allowing in the rot for the sake of avoiding open bloodshed.

Leafi mentions atrocities committed by Prelate Chaston Griffin, Adjudicator Vlashandra, Grand Magister Dennet Kestrel, Grand Magister Octaven, and the Alchemist Praxopius Fortney, then Mother says the new Baron has seen the abuse this has allowed with Earl Jovery making no amends for Chaston, Dennet, Vlashandra, Rinhale, Elithain Cross, Grishom Stone, Raznel, Drangell, Alright, Nysorm, Thanden, Madelyne, Praxopius, or Davard. She concludes by considering whether Earl Jovery is the head of the beast and we're fighting against limbs and hands when the head should roll, then leaves for the night as some of the crowd nod or whisper to her.

Gathering in the Snow

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a sleek black-mantled hawk, the Ulfwine disk, the Elliathe disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl that is flying around, an inlaid leather grimoire soaring around with its gilt-swept ethereal violet pinions, a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake with glossy holly leaves sticking out of her head, the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild blood red dog, a pretty flower girl, the Guarrin disk, the Rushr disk, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, the Phereclese disk, the Maleagant disk, the Akkakh disk, a large acorn, the Jyszull disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, some wolifrew lichen, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Elliathe says, "Just when I thought the night would remain clear."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody hug Leafiara!"

Irval says, "Our community has a duty to usher in new beginnings."

Heavy clouds continue to stretch over the skies of Wehnimer's Landing, billowing outward but almost obscured by both night and the curtain of ashen snow that falls about.

Irval says, "So sayeth the stones."

Speaking amusedly to Irval, Leafiara says, "Well alright then."

Pukk asks, "No Cryheart?"

Guarrin says, "Not tonight."

Speaking to Pukk, Vaemyr says, "Does not appear so."

Pukk exclaims, "Then we need to find a new Cryheart!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Irval says, "I mean its the stones saying it. Not me..."

Axhinde asks, "We under attack again?"

Speaking to Axhinde, Elliathe says, "Unknown yet."

Pukk exclaims, "I guess everybody choose Guarrin then!"

Speaking to Axhinde, Kiyna says, "Could be. But that's true at any time, really."

Speaking to Axhinde, Vaemyr says, "Just a bit of snow."

Irval says, "Weapons at the ready just in case."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Guarrin!"

Irval says, "The stillness gives me unease."

Irval says, "Read these stones from your experience guarding those who foretell and tell me if this looks like it says its our duty as a community to usher in new beginnings..."

Irval offers Asben a bone-toggled woven wicker basket.

Asben accepts Irval's woven wicker basket.

Irval says, "Id like a second opinion."

Speaking philosophically to Irval, Leafiara asks, "Technically, isn't every beginning new?"

Shork deeply says, "It says it is our duty as new ushers to begin a community."

Speaking in Giantman, Guarrin says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Guarrin, Irval says, "They most certainly are not."

Elliathe exclaims, "Oh goodness I still smell like Fyg's capcakes!"

Irval says, "Just saying, While I like to root most my findings and investigations of my ever ending search of skulls of differing varieties."

As blankets of white snow cake the rooftops of Wehnimer's Landing, several dark hooded figures emerge from their shadows, crouching like silent gargoyles, wreathed in darkness and patiently waiting to lunge forward.

Vaemyr says, "Oh hi."

Irval says, "I do not like to discount that the Itharrak are rarely wrong."

[General] Eyvindr thinks, "Oh great."

Kiyna says, "Ah. We were just talking about them."

Vaemyr says, "We were discussing you all earlier."

Perigourd says, "Indeed."

Guarrin grumbles, "Grand."

Irval says, "Ikarrak."

Leafiara yells, "Hiyas!"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Missoni says, "I suspect they are aware."

Kayse whispers something to Drazaa.

[General] Razsroa thinks, "Yep I knew it was more than just snow."

Irval says, "Regardless of what the stones say, They didnt foretell of immediate danger. Just that...we should help usher in new beginnings as a community..."

Several townspeople move about the center of Town Square, some pausing in their tasks to watch the rooftops, some even fidgeting and anxious.

Speaking amusedly to Guarrin, Kayse asks, "Maybe the Rooks ears were burning earlier when everyone was discussing them?"

Speaking to Kayse, Guarrin says, "I hope that is not the case."

Speaking to Guarrin, Perigourd says, "Truth is truth."

Speaking to Guarrin, Kayse suggests, "Maybe Albert is one of them!"

Irval says, "Even the townspeople feel the eery stilness..."

Leafiara amusedly says, "I mean, more likely they were just there listening themselves."

Kelfyr says, "Would rather their ears burn than their fingers itch."

Speaking to Kayse, Vaemyr says, "Maybe they come to tell use they are rebranding."

Leafiara says, "Unless you all ran to Mist Harbor to discuss or something."

Elliathe says, "Makes one wonder what exactly they wait for...."

Irval says, "We tend to all revert back to herd mentality when the sense of danger...safety in numbers..."

Guarrin says, "Let us hope they remain peaceful."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kayse teases, "Maybe you will get another arrow in your neck?"

Drazaa whispers something to Kayse.

Speaking to Kayse, Vaemyr says, "Perferably not..."

Kayse whispers something to Drazaa.

Kiyna yells, "Alright, I assume you've something to say. Let's hear it, hm?"

Speaking thoughtfully to Kiyna, Leafiara says, "I don't know, usually they're more 'show' than 'tell'..."

Speaking to Kiyna, Kayse says, "Careful what you wish for."

Speaking to Kayse, Kiyna says, "I'd prefer to know."

Nazca melodically asks, "So we're being stalked by some dark figures tonight?"

Irval whispers to the group, "I am considering that we might take heed to the Commanders Sablo's advice and try and be proactive and spring their attack early and hope to catch them off guard?"

The Frontier's Freedom

Emerging from the gathered shadows of an alleyway, a tall figure steps into view, wrapped in a billowing dark cloak and a deep hood that reveals a featureless black mask etched with blood red sigils. Some gasp at the sight of the figure, while others seem to nod approvingly. The figure slowly walks along the cobblestone roads, moving towards Moot Hall, as several townspeople step aside to give the figure wide berth.

[Town Square, East]

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see a pretty flower girl, the Kelfyr disk, a grizzled porcupine, a large purple wooden barrel, a blanket of snow, a black imperial wagon with a glowing blue-white pylon on it, a silver-inked ivory parchment nailed to a wall outside of Moot Hall and a dark green wreath with Imaera's lace hanging from the doors of Moot Hall.

Alosaka says, "That wasn't the flower girl."

Elliathe says, "Indeed not."

Guarrin muses, "Perhaps they wish a few words with the Council."

Leafiara curiously says, "Hmm, I thought maybe she had... retired after her identity was exposed, but I guess not."

Speaking to herself, Leafiara considers, "Unless it's just an outfit and this is another one..."

Mother just arrived.

Speaking to Guarrin, Kiyna says, "They're free to bandy words about. I have rolls and cider in my office."

Guarrin says, "Hard to tell. Mask and all."

Nazca melodically says, "Of course they want to talk to the council. It seems nothing but trouble follows the council."

[General] Mouth thinks, "Believe it or not, those are our people."

Alosaka says, "It may have just been some new, novice sorcerer."

>l mother

You see a tall figure garbed in a billowy dark cloak with a deep hood that only partially reveals a featureless black mask etched with blood red sigils. The figure wears little else adornment, save for the gleam of a brilliant red soulstone ring upon one of her slender gloved hands.

Mother moves among the townspeople, coming to stand near the walls of Moot Hall.

Leafiara cheerfully greets, "Hello there!"

Nazca melodically says, "It's kind of boring really."

Dumple asks, "Eh what we got goin on 'by 'ere?"

Speaking to Nazca, Grimguls asks, "Did i miss any of the fun?"

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr asks, "So what brings you out this crisp evening? I imagine it's not just for some idle small talk?"

Mother gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Irval whispers to the group, "Who is this...Mother?"

Guarrin whispers to the group, "Leads the Rooks."

Shork hugs Mother.

Mother softly says, "There comes many times in hist..."

Mother glances at Shork.

Irval whispers to the group, "Why arent we arresting her now?"

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Well this certainly answers one question from our discussions earlier."

Drektor whispers to the group, "Doesnt look like she did anythin."

Shork waves to Mother.

Alosaka whispers to the group, "She was, somewhat controversially, pardoned for her crimes."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "It could be any number of individuals sharing the message."

Mother softly says, "There comes many times in history...when freedom is threatened."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "And yes, also pardoned."

Mother softly says, "The birth of the Brotherhood sought to be prepared for that very day..."

Mother softly says, "To respond to the rearing head of tyranny, of oppression, to stand as the last bastion if needed against Wehnimer's losing her independence."

Some townspeople in the crowd nod and a few raise their fists.

Irval says, "Yah im gonna stop you right there Ma'm."

Speaking to Irval, Kelfyr says, "Let her speak."

Mother softly says, "Our freedom is being threatened."

Alosaka whispers to the group, "Let's hear her out."

Irval says, "I may not know you. But I do know that you have been responsible for several attacks against emissaries from this time that could've resulted in full scale war with the empire..."

Mother softly says, "It is worse than the likes of the summoner, Grishom Stone."

Mother softly says, "...or dare I say, even worse than the golden eyes of Chaston Griffin."

Mother softly asks, "Do you know why?"

Alosaka says, "I confess I cannot imagine why."

Leafiara says, "Because more people welcome it."

Some of the townspeople shake their head. One townsperson shouts, "Because imps stink!"

Mother points at Leafiara.

Leafiara nods at Mother.

Pukk exclaims, "Yeah! They stink!"

Raelee suddenly fades into view.

Raelee stares sternly down her nose at Pukk.

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk says, "Except you."

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd asks, "Are they not allowed their own independence to do so?"

Mother softly says, "Many of our people...our families...our loved ones...they have been blinded, and they welcome it."

Missoni says, "No, they are free to make their own choices."

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "Do they not have the freedom to choose as well? Or are you updating your policies here tonight."

Mother softly says, "They lay down their arms, throwing their blades at the feet of our future conquerers. The nerve of a council who seeks to even arm our own enemies..."

Mother softly says, "But, coin for our coffers no? Freedom has a price it seems."

Speaking evenly to Mother, Kayse says, "You know as well as I that deal supports the town."

Alosaka asks, "Never so many enemies that you can't have more, hm?"

Mother softly says, "You sound like Amos."

Mother nods at Kayse.

Speaking idly to Mother, Kayse says, "There is a reason I work with him."

Missoni whispers something to Alosaka.

Mother softly says, "Work..."

Mother smirks.

Mother softly says, "Let us arm our enemies...in the honorable mention of profit."

Speaking to Mother, Irval says, "I wasnt aware we were at war with the empire...."

Ulfwine says, "Your enemies, not mine."

Mother softly says, "Our children will have fuller bellies for a season, as they eat at the tables of our new masters."

Tikba quietly asks, "What if the merchants choose to sell them weapons, regardless of the deal?"

Speaking to Mother, Kayse reasons, "We also control that number and where the weapons come from."

Axhinde says, "It's all for the kids. Even though they keep getting lost."

Speaking to Mother, Kiyna says, "They'd have gotten the weapons somewhere else, anyway."

A townsperson shouts, "That deal don't help me! I don't make or sell weapons!"

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "You and many here know, that they would "arm" themselves either way, there is no reason we should not be amicable and get something to benefit the town in the process."

Cloaked figures loom above the crowd along the edges of the nearest rooftops, their beak-masked heads barely moving as they pointedly observe those assembled in front of Moot Hall.

Mother softly says, "The Empire could have claimed land anywhere else as well...but they claim it here."

Mother nods at Kiyna.

Mother softly asks, "I suppose we should just allow it then, shouldn't we?"

Speaking to Mother, Kiyna says, "Allow is a strong word."

Speaking to some gathered townspeople, Kayse assures, "There are more deals to be made to benefit the town in the long run."

Speaking to Mother, Ulfwine asks, ""your pardon, but who is 'we' here?"

Speaking melodically to Mother, Nazca asks, "So what exactly are you here asking for? Are you looking for our merchants to stop sales? or are you looking for a handout?"

Leafiara says, "It does seem clear to me that they're after the Reach and Darkstone Castle. That's why the person sent to investigate those areas arrived before even the commander of their army did."

Mother softly says, "We bristle aloud, and scatter about, preparing for war with the mountain alliance..."

Mother softly says, "When the true infestation...the true enemy...the true invaders...have come into our walls with gates wide open."

Mother softly says, "They are small now in size, like the ants they are..."

Mother softly says, "But their mound will grow."

Mother softly says, "Soon it will be a hill, then another, then another, until they infest our lands entirely."

Mother softly asks, "Then what will our children eat?"

Mother softly asks, "What will our workers do?"

Speaking to Mother, Kiyna quips, "Ants?"

Speaking to Mother, Kayse informs, "The future....Baron has written the Earl to establish that Wehnimer's Landing will be left untouched and free."

Mother softly asks, "Where will our hunters find prey?"

Axhinde says, "Probably eat and work."

Mother laughs at Kayse!

Irval asks, "So long as Landing retains our independence with Support from the Soon to be Darkstonians and Earls support? What does it matter if it breathes life into this town. Brings in goods and work for the people of landing. You would deny them the right to better themselves with jobs and commerce?"

Mother softly exclaims, "OH my!"

Guarrin casually says, "Some of those that you despise so much have been here longer than you, or your organization, defending the people here."

Mother softly asks, "He has written a letter?"

Mother softly asks, "Words to ink?"

Mother softly exclaims, "Rooks! Townspeople! We have nothing to fear!"

Speaking to Mother, Kayse says, "That is typically how a letter works."

Mother softly says, "Let us retire to the shadows...and cast aside our aspirations and defense of the people..."

Kayse smirks at Mother.

Mother softly exclaims, "Letters shall save us!"

Pukk exclaims, "I don't like letters!"

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr asks, "Do you honestly believe that we cannot coexist? That after all we've weathered and done, that OUR people, here in this incredible town, can't overcome something as simple as "dealing with being next door to civilization"?"

Axhinde says, "The pen is mightier than the sword."

Tikba mildly asks, "Why are you here, and not at the campsite?"

Mother softly says, "Soft."

Tikba says, "They have not built their sentry towers yet."

Mother softly says, "Too many people in this town have exposed their underbelly to the enemy."

Irval asks, "The edict was comrpised of documents was it not?"

Mother softly says, "Plump, and ripe to be torn open."

Irval says, "And it was rescinded."

Mother softly exclaims, "Who will be the first to step forward? Declare your oath of fealty to this soon to be Baron!"

A townsperson shouts, "Not me!"

Mother softly asks, "No?"

Mother softly asks, "You stand alone?"

Alosaka offers, "He hasn't asked for our oaths."

One of the cloaked figures atop Moot Hall leaps down and lands beside Mother!

Another townsperson shouts, "I kneel for no one!"

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd asks, "And you simply presume to know best for all, hiding behind a mask instead of running for an elected position to make a difference?"

Mother nods at Tolmis.

Tolmis nods to Mother in greeting.

Mother softly says, "My mask does not protect my identity."

Irval asks, "Why would we declare an Oath of fealty to someone who does require it because his lands remain outside of ours?"

Mother nods at Perigourd.

Mother softly says, "My mask is a symbol."

Tolmis reaches out and touches his black mask.

Mother softly says, "The river will not contain the imperials."

Tolmis attends to his black cloak, making the cloak as presentable as possible.

Speaking politely to Tolmis, Tikba says, "It is good to see you are feeling more passionate today."

Irval exclaims, "You !"

Mother softly says, "They will harvest the land, and build upon every inch of it, and when they are done and reflect and look upon their great valley with pride, they will feel empty. They will turn their eyes further north, to push beyond the river, to claim another port for their great Empire, and then even further north to Icemule Trace. No place is safe."

Mother softly says, "Their sights have been set."

Elliathe says, "That is my fear."

Leafiara agrees, "Icemule is well aware of the dangers. It's spoken about weekly if not daily there."

Mother nods at Elliathe.

Kayse indifferently says, "They can take Icemule."

Mother softly says, "It is not only a fear, it is a future outcome."

Speaking to Mother, Pukk asks, "Like a bunch of locusts?"

Mother nods at Elliathe.

Mother softly asks, "Will you fight to defend freedom?"

Mother peers quizzically at Elliathe.

Elliathe frowns.

Ulfwine says, "And that is all it is, just a fear."

Elliathe cocks her head at Mother.

Speaking to Mother, Kayse vows, "None of us want Wehnimer's to lose its freedom. We have established that."

Tolmis stares silently into the crowd, flexing his hands into fists and relaxing them anxiously.

Mother peers quizzically at Elliathe.

Speaking to Mother, Elliathe asserts, "I work for Icemule's interests, it is true, and her freedom. But not all paths to freedom immediatly require violence. There are peaceful means of fighting."

Tolmis glances at Irval.

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "Lets say, for even the slightest chance, you are correct, what say you, is your plan for destroying the Turamzzyrian Empire. Because all I see in armed conflict is nothing left of our town and people."

Vaemyr says, "Or are you just here to spout lofty ideals, and to get other people to bleed for you."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kelfyr asks, "For? Or with?"

Leafiara says, "With."

Tikba skeptically asks, "Then why is she here?"

Tolmis turns away from Irval, ignoring him.

Tolmis glances up.

Tikba says, "The camp is quite close by."

Randsford says, "No empire will set foot on the glaciers of Icemule as long as our Council agrees to otherwise."

Tikba says, "I know you know the way."

Tolmis whispers something to Mother.

Irval whispers to the group, "We need to take Tolmis in for questioning."

Irval whispers to the group, "Willing or unwilling."

Mother glances at Irval.

Guarrin whispers to the group, "Ask him the questions you would."

Alosaka whispers to the group, "We are not the law."

Mother moves to stand in front of Elliathe.

Drektor whispers to the group, "Hes right there. why dont you try to take em."

Guarrin whispers to the group, "I would avoid direct conflict as that would only encourage violence with this crowd."

Drektor whispers to the group, "Please."

Speaking melodically to Mother, Nazca asks, "Do you really think they can both take and hold the Landing for long? Many have tried and failed before, what makes you think this is different?"

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Indeed."

Mother softly asks, "Will you stand with the Brotherhood of Rooks? In defending our peace, and our independence, and speaking against the imperial encroachment?"

Mother peers quizzically at Elliathe.

Elliathe cocks her head at Mother.

Grimguls says, "And there it is."

Shork deeply says, "I'm all for freedom. It's the new frontier."

Speaking to Tolmis, Irval says, "Care to explain to us all here what you took from Captain Bodohal? And why after which he has been attempted to be assassinated by your very organization. Which quite literally drove the Captain mad and had him fire onto the towns people."

Elliathe says, "My loyalties lay with the Town of Icemule Trace. As someone hoping to represent that town as a delagate in the very near future, I must respectfully decline."

Elliathe nods at Mother.

Mother nods.

Mother softly says, "A shame..."

Speaking to Elliathe, Missoni says, "Well said."

Rook Recruiting

Mother removes a grey-beaked black mask from the folds of her cloak.

Speaking to Mother, Randsford says, "That is for Icemule Council to decide where we stand."

Speaking quietly to Irval, Tolmis asks, "Do you intend to defend the actions of a maniac?"

Mother softly asks, "Who will stand for freedom?"

Drektor agrees with Mother.

Shork raises his hand.

Shork starts jumping around like a twelve-year-old.

Speaking to Mother, Elliathe asserts, "As I said, I believe there is more than the violent path to freedom."

Speaking to Tolmis, Irval says, "Since its you who basically incited his rage. You bear some of the responsibility."

Shork deeply exclaims, "I will Lady Liberty!"

Pukk says, "I of course will."

Speaking to Tolmis, Guarrin asks, "Could you clarify why this man is after you?"

Pukk nods at Mother.

A young man from the crowd steps forward, "I will stand for freedom."

Speaking to Tolmis, Irval says, "And not only that, but you didnt deny stealing something either."

Mother smiles, stepping towards the man and hands him a mask.

Shork deeply says, "Ohhh there are masks."

Leafiara says, "New recruits on the spot."

Mother softly says, "Wehnimer's Landing is not our enemy. Not even her misguided defenders, are our enemies."

Elliathe whispers to the group, "I ought to be a seamstress for the amount of needles I seem to thread."

Ulfwine says, "I guess it is easier than threats and extortion."

Speaking to Mother, Kiyna states, "Before a crowd of our citizens not unlike this one, I said, in earnest, that I will brook no attempt by the Empire to control our government. I will never swear fealty to imperials of any stripe."

Mother softly says, "The enemy lies in the camp to the south, cutting our forest, eating our harvest, softening the spines of our families."

Irval says, "Or assassinations..."

Mother softly asks, "Who else will stand with us?"

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "You brought up your history, are you planning then to return to those methods? Just earlier I had defended you all, that you've been nothing but an ally for over a year now. I hope I don't have to regret those words."

Shork nods at Mother.

Irval whispers to the group, "She is openly trying to incite a rebellion."

Mother points at Shork.

Shork deeply says, "Don't forget about that incessant hammering."

Mother softly asks, "Exploding spheres? Shields made of orphans?"

Mother peers quizzically at Vaemyr.

Mother softly says, "No."

Elliathe whispers to the group, "Or least amass the warm bodies enough for one."

Mother moves to stand in front of Shork.

Vaemyr nods at Mother.

Mother softly asks, "Will you stand with the Brotherhood of Rooks for freedom?"

Mother peers quizzically at Shork.

Shork nods at Mother.

Speaking to Shork, Leafiara says, "Come to think of it, as you mention the hammering, perhaps the reivers will ally here."

Shork deeply exclaims, "Sure!"

Speaking softly to Shork, Alosaka says, "You're signing up for more than you may realize..."

Mother offers Shork a grey-beaked black mask.

Shork accepts Mother's black mask.

Hoisting the black mask high, Shork displays it for all to see and does a little victory dance.

Irval looks over at Shork and shakes his head.

Shork cocks his head at Irval.

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "And he's free to do so."

Shork deeply asks, "Did I do bad?"

Shork glances at Irval.

Speaking to Shork, Irval says, "Give it back."

Shork pouts.

Speaking to Shork, Axhinde says, "Time will tell."

Speaking to Shork, Leafiara says, "Opinions might vary."

Shork offers Mother a grey-beaked black mask.

Speaking to Shork, Nairena says, "Never second guess yourself, dwarf."

Mother peers quizzically at Shork.

Mother accepts Shork's black mask.

Mother softly says, "You..."

Mother shakes her head.

Drektor says, "Are weak."

Leafiara says, "And this is why the town is troubled."

Kayse observes, "It takes more than a mask to promote and cultivate freedom."

Speaking to Mother, Irval says, "You will not persuade those ignorant of your meddling in the past, or actions of present."

Shork whimpers as his bottom lip trembles.

A townsperson shouts, 'He's soft!"

Speaking to Nazca, Vasilik asks, "Hey am i missing something?"

Shork deeply exclaims, "I am!"

Someone in the crowd shouts, "A dwarf? Or a bearded pot-bellied halfling!"

Shork frowns.

Kiyna says, "Hey, what's wrong with halflings now? Say it to my face."

Elliathe asks, "What need for nastiness?"

Pukk says, "Everybody knows that I have been neutral as far as the imps...I mean the Imperials are concerned....but I agree with Mother."

Axhinde says, "That's actually pretty good."

Mother raises a hand towards the crowd.

Vaemyr says, "Perhaps he wishes to fight for our town and freedoms, and doesn't need to wear a mask."

Mother softly says, "The dwarf is not our enemy."

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka asks, "Really? You're surprised the angry crowd is using mean words?"

Guarrin muses, "Ah, so he is free to choose, but is soft if he does not make the choice you wish?"

Speaking to Pookia, Leafiara says, "Well, you can finally meet her."

Vasilik says, "Seems boring."

The voice of Alnwick says, "I'll stand wit' da Rooks."

Shork deeply says, "Dwarves are good people."

Shork nods.

Mother softly says, "Freedom applies to all decisions."

Alnwick nods at Mother.

Mother softly says, "We are not fighting to defend only half of this town."

Mother softly says, "We are fighting to defend all of it."

Tolmis quietly says, "The Rooks saved my life and gave me a second chance at what was an otherwise doomed life. There is no reason not to stand with the Brotherhood if you wish to serve the better interests of this town and its people."

Tolmis nods at Shork.

Alosaka observes, "We have a militia."

Mother softly says, "Not everyone is built for the shadows. Not everyone is built for blood."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "They don't seem particularly angry to me. Just having a bit of fun with the people, jeez."

Irval Gets Stoned

Speaking to Mother, Irval asks, "Your ply your wiles on those not keen to your history. And just so you know. Those gathered here were here defending against the attacks against the Town from Gnul's forces. Where were you? hiding in your shadows?"

Speaking to Mother, Nairena says, "Im sure everyone that lives within these walls thanks you and the rooks for their service."

Speaking to Tolmis, Guarrin asks, "Going back to the earlier question. Did you care to share any information on the Captain?"

Axhinde says, "I mean...if it was a Sisterhood it'd be more appealing."

Speaking quietly to Guarrin, Tolmis says, "Not in present company."

Speaking to Irval, Kelfyr says, "I watched the Rooks on the rooftops defending this town alongside the rest of us."

Tolmis glances at some gathered townspeople.

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna reminds, "The Rooks were fighting alongside the town during Gnul's attacks."

Speaking to Irval, Kayse counters, "The Rooks have been at our defense during Gnul's attacks. Just like they were during Tyrrax's."

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "I'd believe in the militia more--and I used to, for that matter--if not for the multiple times we've met with Mother before and the Marshal herself has agreed there are things the militia can't do that the Rooks can."

Speaking to Nazca, Grimguls asks, "I don't think this really concerns us. Back to the ocean?"

Irval yells, "Where were the Rooks when the Stone Men came down from the Mountains and attacked the town?"

Speaking quietly to Guarrin, Tolmis says, "There is no need to spread fear."

Speaking slowly to Irval, Kayse says, "They were here....."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara asks, "...shooting arrows on the griffins?"

Irval yells, "Where were the rooks when the griffin's took to the sky and snatched up the innocent!"

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna asks, "They were here, defending it, are you deaf?"

(Kayse glances at Irval and points at the rooftops.)

Irval says, "Yah they were here...hiding in the shadows."

Speaking to Irval, Drektor asks, "Were yer eyes shut the whole time?"

Pookia corrects, "Helping in the shadows!"

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "They were shooting arrows on the griffins from the rooftops."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Uumm thats what they do."

Kelfyr says, "Fervored ignorance."

Someone from the crowd throws a rock at Irval!

Irval says, "Naw I was outside the gate. You know, Fighting."

... 1 point of damage!

Jarring blow to Irval's back.

Speaking to Tolmis, Guarrin says, "How considerate. I would be interested in hearing your version."

Speaking to Tolmis, Perigourd says, "And here I thought most people drew fear mostly from the unknown."

Kiyna yells, "Hey! No throwing stones!"

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "It's good to know you think archery isn't combat."

Another rock flies from the crowd to strike Irval!

... 3 points of damage!

Blow to back cracks several vertebrae.

Elliathe murmurs, "This is starting to get ugly..."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia asks, "Ok then if you were out there fighting, and not in town, then how do you know the Rooks werent there?"

Another rock flies from the crowd to strike Irval!

... 2 points of damage!

Blow to the head causes Irval's ears to ring!

Irval says, "I know I saw Sablo defend the town."

Kayse whispers something to Leafiara.

Irval says, "I know I saw our Mayor Defend the town."

Chandrellia yells, "Ok look throwing rocks wont help matters!"

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Funny, I only saw [Sablo] running around the forest."

Mother stands, watching Irval for a moment, raising her hand to her waist, but pausing.

Another rock is hurled at Irval!

... 7 points of damage!

Hearty smack to the head.

He is stunned!

Missoni says, "Surely if one person can stand here and say their bit, another can as well."

Leafiara whispers something to Kayse.

Markx says, "Well this is goin well."

Speaking to some gathered townspeople, Vaemyr says, "To everyone here, I support the freedom of this town, but wearing a mask and leaping from roofs is not the only way to ensure our freedoms. We need you to be you, to work hard to grow our town. Our town has plenty of defenders without masks, and we need all of you. Don't believe this is the only way."

Irval says, "I know I didnt see the Mother....defend anything but her own interests."

Mother raises her hand, and two townspeople put down their rocks, while one other just pockets it. Probaby for later.

Speaking to Mother, Chandrellia says, "Thank you."

Irval says, "Not so much freedom to disagree."

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd says, "Freedom indeed."

Irval asks, "Is that what we want of the Rooks?"

Speaking softly to Irval, Alosaka says, "Enough. Enough, for now."

Speaking to Irval, Kayse challenges, "How do you know when all the Rooks look the same?"

Irval asks, "If we disagree? They cast stones?"

(Irval rubs his bruises.)

Irval asks, "Attack us?"

Mother sighs.

Speaking to Irval, Vaemyr says, "Well sometimes it's arrows."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "That was the townspeople throwing stones at you. It seems your eyes are rather poor to judge."

Asben says, "Not us..."

Speaking tiredly to Irval, Kayse says, "No, they were defending our home."

Shork deeply says, "The Rooks like rocks."

Nairena says, "They wear masks for a reason."

Irval says, "Who knows if it was townspeople or plants."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Throwing stones is not acceptable, but you're simply lying. All could see they were there with us."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Disagreeing is one thing, saying they werent defending the town they have always defended is ebtirely different."

Asben says, "The Rooks have defended the town many times."

Nairena says, "One could be someone you know or a dear friend."

Giogionni says, "It was definitely stones, not plants."

Guarrin says, "Regarding things the Rooks can do that a militia cannot. Going down that path only leads to extreme measures, and more bloodshed, and even worse acts."

The Mystery of the Mountain Alliance

Mother softly says, "Look around you..."

Mother softly says, "The roots are settling in."

'Tolmis quietly says, "I fought the army of boulders and rock servants alongside many of you when the streets were overrun by Gnul's minions. The Rooks have done their fair share in that conflict, and more, for a town that condemns us otherwise."

Speaking to Guarrin, Chandrellia says, "Ya know sometimes, those measures need to be taken to get a point across."

Mother softly says, "If the brambles are allowed to grow, we cannot turn them back."

Speaking mildly to Chandrellia, Tikba asks, "Like throwing stones?"

Tolmis nods in agreement at Mother.

Mother softly asks, "Do you wonder, how the mountain alliance was formed?"

Speaking to Tikba, Chandrellia says, "No not throwing stones, that wasnt right."

Lunatick asks, "Why's she talkin' about gardening?"

Giogionni says, "Brambles generally burn well."

Leafiara admits, "I very much wonder how it was formed."

Mother softly asks, "Is it not strange, have you asked yourself, how quickly they came together?"

Pookia says, "Crowds get rowdy, whats important is that they stopped throwing stones."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Guarrin says, "Do they? And that is how you end up with the horrid acts that were done before. Starting with good intentions, at some point, but willing to do anything."

Alosaka asks, "This town was founded by settlers. Almost all of us came here from other walks of life. Now you would have us turn back more settlers, more like us, who seek a home and a better life?"

Speaking to Mother, Nairena says, "That has crossed our minds."

Speaking to Mother, Drazaa asks, "What do you know about the mountain alliance?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Chandrellia asks, "Like the Gryphons?"

Speaking mildly to Pookia, Tikba says, "They were asked to stop, yes."

Mother softly says, "The imperials have studied us. They have brought a man of magic who manipulates our minds and eyes."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Guarrin says, "Please, elaborate on that accusation."

Speaking to Pookia, Tikba says, "How fortunate that someone was here who could persuade them to stop throwing stones, or start again."

Mother softly says, "He waves a fancy scroll to distract you..."

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "Turn them back with violence, and instead of something we may trim like you would a hedge, you will get a jungle swarming over with nothing left underneath but ruins."

Speaking to Mother, Alosaka notes, "The Grimswarm have been an organized, malevolent force for years. The Illoke have been forming alliances for years to assault us. This Gnul is simply the latest."

Speaking to Mother, Leafiara muses, "That would follow, given Rodnay's warnings."

Mother glances at a silver-inked ivory parchment nailed to a wall outside of Moot Hall.

Speaking to Guarrin, Chandrellia says, "Perhaps later, I'm listening to Mother."

Mother softly says, "To make you believe they care...that they seek your wisdom..."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Guarrin says, "Indeed."

Lunatick asks, "I'm lost, if he's a magic man who can manipulat our minds and eyes, how can you tell? are you protected somehow?"

Mother softly says, "They have given you an enemy, so that you ignore that they are yours first."

Speaking to Nazca, Grimguls asks, "Is it time yet?"

Speaking to Lunatick, Leafiara says, "Many here are, after years of conflicts with mentalists."

Alosaka says, "We have been fighting jumped-up Illoke chieftans for decades. Gnul is simply more organized than most."

Mother softly says, "We will bury Gnul. Like we have every other threat."

Speaking to Mother, Bellaja says, "Not all are so gullible as to believe the front presented."

Nairena says, "I think most consider the empire to be our enemy."

Speaking to Mother, Irval asks, "So you would cast your lot in with the Illoke?"

Ulfwine says, "Why didn't we see that? Gnul is working for the emperor. That explains everything."

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "They attacked prior within this last year as well."

Mother softly says, "...and when the final drop of ale leaves our flagons, we will look around...and see great imperial walls, and the shining glint of metal soldiers."

Lunatick says, "I don't even know what's going on. Heard Irval screaming and came over to see him getting stoned in front of the Hall."

Mother softly asks, "How long will we give them our weapons?"

Mother softly asks, "How long will we give them our woods, and our crops, and our harvest?"

Lunatick says, "Glad to see my mom finally showed up though."

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "We are not "giving" them anything."

Mother softly says, "How long until they take our people?"

Lunatick asks, "Or is she OUR mom?"

Nairena says, "This woman is making more sense."

Mother softly asks, "How long until they pull them away with the promise of coin?"

Giogionni asks, "Hmmm. What's today?"

Mother softly asks, "How long until we have nothing left to give?"

Alosaka asks, "Take them where? To the salt mines? What do you imagine the Empire does in its free time?"

Pukk asks, "What happens after we have nothing left to give?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Guarrin says, "It seems discussion is not worthwhile."

Speaking to Mother, Kiyna says, "I understand the point you're trying to make, but all are free to follow coin. Many do. That is their decision to make."

Tolmis quietly says, "I was misled by promises of glory and dreams of greatness within service to The Empire, only to find those dreams shattered and replaced by a nightmare of service to a terrible man who acted opposite of his duty to a throne that has no care for me or those beneath it."

Mother softly says, "We unravel, and no longer exist."

Mother nods at Pukk.

Lunatick says, "Who are we mad at tonight? I can't keep up."

Kayse whispers something to Drazaa.

Pukk nods slowly.

Speaking to Mother, Drektor says, "Im with you."

Speaking quietly to herself, Pookia says, "Thats what ive been sayin the whole time."

Alosaka asks, "Have none of you ever been in the Empire before? What sort of hellish, emmiserated wasteland do you imagine it tobe?"

Tolmis quietly says, "You too are being misled by promises of glory and dreams of greatness."

Drazaa whispers something to Kayse.

Lunatick says, "I mean, River's Rest is a part of the empire, I"ve been there."

Speaking to Alosaka, Giogionni says, "Like the Broken Lands, but with cake."

Lunatick says, "Kinda wet but nice enough overall."

Speaking to Tolmis, Ulfwine asks, ""Is a bad captain an entire empire?"

Speaking to Tolmis, Vaemyr says, "I am truly sorry for your experiences, but no matter where you go, there are both good and bad people. The same exists in the very organization you have now joined. As will exist in any other walks of life as you travel."

Speaking to Alosaka, Elliathe says, "With all due respect, that depends on whether or not you are of human stock."

Speaking to Tolmis, Guarrin says, "Although, I am curious about the particulars about his behavior."

Speaking to Tolmis, Irval says, "People come in all varieties of shapes and colors. Just because one is bad. Doesnt make them all bad." Anise smoke curls up from the cigar in Lunatick's hand.

Mother softly says, "The Brotherhood of Rooks have stood by for too long in silence, as the first tent went up in the settlement, then another, then another."

Speaking to Elliathe, Ulfwine says, ""With all due respect, that is not altogether true."

Kayse whispers something to Drazaa.

Speaking to Mother, Alnwick asks, "How do I join dis Brotherhood?"

Lunatick asks, "Wait, this Mom lady is from the rooks?"

Tolmis quietly says, "Rot spreads in the soil, festering in the wound if a blind eye is turned."

Tolmis folds his arms over his chest.

Bleeding Without Bloodshed

Mother softly says, "We will speak again of this encroaching enemy, and when we do, it will come with a warning. One that the Empire and this new child baron should not ignore."

Speaking to Lunatick, Kiyna says, "Mother is the leader of the Rooks, yes."

Speaking to Tolmis, Perigourd says, "Not all such wrongs go without redress within the empire."

Lunatick says, "Oh."

Speaking to Mother, Alosaka asks, "And what of the settlers, then? The refugees in their camp outside our walls?"

Tolmis nods.

Mother softly says, "They are not settlers."

Speaking to Elliathe, Ulfwine says, ""We are alike you and I, but perhaps our experiences have differed."

Mother softly says, "They are invaders."

Chandrellia says, "Ya know, I havent been nere bearly as long as a lot of you others have but the one thing I see as a constant, is separation, everyone seperates themselves from everything else, until, we are under attack, at that point everyone comes together to defend this town."

Speaking to Mother, Irval asks, "Your organization threatened to hang and set afire innocent settlers. Is it your intent to carry out that act of Defiance against the Empire?"

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "They are just... people."

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd says, "Yes, their plowshares are quite worrisome."

Speaking to Tolmis, Guarrin says, "If you have evidence, please share it."

Speaking honestly to Ulfwine, Elliathe says, "I can only ever speak to my own experiences and you yours."

Mother softly says, "It is our intent to defend freedom. With words, with blades, with blood."

Mother nods at Irval.

Lunatick says, "Not sure it's up to just her and her chess pieces to decide for all of us who gets to stay and who has to go."

Mother softly says, "The order of such will be determine by the imperials."

Chandrellia says, "It matters not who started it, but after its all over, I see people pointing fingers at everyone else and accusing them of not doing this or that, or that this group could have done better."

Alosaka says, "Well, you've stated your case quite plainly, for which I thank you."

Alosaka nods at Mother.

Lunatick says, "Defend freedom with death? Gonna preserve peace with war? Nice."

Mother softly says, "We did not choose war."

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "If you choose to use violence in this, you will only be causing blacklash that will do far more harm to our town than potentially learning to coexist. There are other ways to fight a war."

Irval says, "We are imperfect beings. To say one is not is a lie. Why not find a better way to enforce Landings Indepedence? Why must it be violence and death and more matyrs leading to more deaths and the cycle contiinues."

Speaking to Mother, Nairena says, "Most never do."

Mother softly asks, "Backlash, councilor?"

Mother peers quizzically at Vaemyr.

From behind some gathered townspeople, Pukk's voice chants, "Down with the imps!"

Mother softly asks, "What backlash do you even happen to envision?"

Vaemyr nods at Mother.

Mother softly says, "Will the imperials...."

Mother gasps.

Tolmis reaches out and touches his black mask.

Mother softly asks, "Move even closer?"

Mother smirks.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia asks, "Hhmm and what of those that have already caused violnce, I mean after all violence begets violence yes?"

Mother softly says, "They are at our gates."

Lunatick asks, "Im a little lost here, did the imperials attack the Rooks first?"

Mother softly asks, "Will you only raise your sword to defend when they are in bed with your wives?"

Mother softly asks, "How much closer will you let them come?"

Alosaka says, "I think he imagines that you'll anger the townspeople who aren't so keen on putting innocent settlers to the sword, and you might have to actually answer to the law for your actions."

Speaking to Mother, Kayse explains, "If you attack the Imperials, they will come for our town and attack our people. We will pay for blood with blood."

Speaking to Lunatick, Ulfwine says, ""I think they might be afraid of stricter law enforcment."

Lunatick says, "My wife and i are open so nothing to defend."

Speaking to Mother, Vaemyr says, "I'm not sure, perhaps they will burn down a certain tavern ship in the harbor for one. Which would be quite the shame as I do enjoy the food and drinks there."

Mother softly says, "We are bleeding now Kayse."

Mother softly says, "Resources, people, our very spirit."

Mother softly asks, "Don't you see?"

Speaking quietly to Mother, Tikba asks, "How do you suggest the Imperials created Gnul?"

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd asks, "Really? the empire is here to adult with everyone elses spouse now?"

Mother softly says, "For the sake of avoiding open bloodshed, you are allowing the rot in."

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd asks, "Just how much hyperbole will you throw at the townsfolk?"

Speaking quietly to Lunatick, Tolmis says, "Many of us are victims of their rule. Like myself. It is why we are here in Wehnimer's now."

Speaking to Mother, Irval says, "The only bleeding that has actually been done was when your failed attempt to poison Captain Bodohal sent him into a rage and had him fire onto the townsfolk."

Speaking to Perigourd, Bellaja says, "I mean, they're men."

Speaking to Bellaja, Perigourd says, "As am I, but I don't go around forcing myself on peoples wives."

Leafiara says, "We've had an Imperial army occupy the town and construct cleansing camps to kill half-elves by the hundreds. We've had a Hall of Mages Adjudicator harvest blood from hundreds more so she could open a portal to the shadow realm. We've had an Imperial Grand Magister abduct our current militia Commander, another Grand Magister destroy our defense towers and release an army of elementals, and an Alchemist unleash the White Sparrows to bomb our streets, but much of this has apparently been forgotten or overlooked. Or perhaps just written off as one-offs, despite happening again and again."

Leafiara looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs.

Mother peers quizzically at Irval.

Irval whispers to the group, "Im trying to get her to admit to it."

Speaking to Perigourd, Bellaja says, "Of course not and I don't think she meant they were either."

Lunatick says, "She didnt' say our wives would be forced."

Mother nods at Leafiara.

Mother softly asks, "Can you blame the new Baron for coming?"

Mother peers quizzically at Leafiara.

Mother softly says, "He has studied our town and history."

Mother softly says, "He has seen the abuse we have allowed."

Speaking to Mother, Leafiara says, "To this naive crowd? Not at all."

Leafiara nods at Mother.

Bellaja whispers something to Perigourd.

Guarrin says, "You have also had an imperial order protector these gates since before any Mother arrived."

Mother softly says, "The miscarriage of justice, of freedom."

Speaking to Irval, Kelfyr says, "Much blood was shed as Gnul brought his forces down the mountain in direct response to the Imperial encroachment."

Guarrin says, "Convenient, how that is to forget when it doesn't fit the narrative."

Guarrin says, "Further, two other baronies have sent forces to aid us in the past. Again. Forgotten."

Mother softly asks, "What has this Earl done to make amends for Chaston?"

Mother softly asks, "For Dennet? For Vlashandra?"

Irval asks, "Looking for reparations?"

Mother softly says, "For Rinhale...for Elithain..."

Speaking to Guarrin, Leafiara says, "Your Order is sworn to the Landing above the Empire, if I've understood correctly. Your orders don't seem to come from anyone ranked above you."

Mother softly says, "...for Grishom..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Guarrin says, "The Order is an Imperial one."

Mother softly says, "...for Raznel..."

Mother softly says, "...for Drangell..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Guarrin says, "We are recognized on the scrolls of immuron."

Shork deeply says, "You've a good memory."

Shork nods at Mother.

Lunatick says, "I don't know any of the people she's talkin' about."

Tikba mildly asks, "For Casiphia?"

Speaking to Shork, Ulfwine says, "And a selective one."

Speaking to Shork, Leafiara says, "It's easy to remember traumatic times of war we've lived through."

Mother softly says, "For Alright...for Nysorm..."

Lunatick says, "But if they died, someone should have just raised them."

Mother softly says, "...for Thanden...for Madelyne..."

Mother softly says, "...for Praxopius..."

The dog wanders over to Tolmis and sniffs at him suspiciously for a moment.

Speaking to Lunatick, Chandrellia says, "Sometimes, its notthat simple."

Leafiara murmurs, "...apparently she remembers more of them than me, since I've only lived here since mid-5116."

Speaking to Lunatick, Bellaja says, "Not all can come from beyond the gate."

Tolmis glances at a lazy wild blood red dog.

Mother softly says, "...for Davard..."

Irval says, "Its better they died as Martyrs for the cause..."

Irval says, "Hearts and minds and all that."

Vaemyr says, "And all of that, was without actually starting a war with them, What's next, watching them bury the town under a mountain? How about raising the water from the bay to flood all the streets. Maybe they'll just park an imperial blockade and bombard the town until it is dust? I don't want wish for us to lose any of our freedoms, I've even been at the foremost to request our status be changed to an independent citystate."

Lunatick says, "Hrm."

Mother softly asks, "Do you not see?"

Lunatick asks, "Then maybe they should have been more careful?"

Mother softly says, "The rot is a multi-faced creature..."

Mother softly says, "Perhaps the Earl is the head of the beast..."

Lunatick says, "Seems the Rooks are the ones pitting themselves against the Adventuring people of the Landing."

Mother softly says, "Perhaps we fight against limbs and hands..."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Asben says, "So we should welcome them because we're scared of what could happen if we don't? That's not freedom."

Mother softly says, "When it is the head that should roll."

Speaking to Mother, Irval says, "Guess you can't fight "rot" without being a little "rotten" yourself."

Mother softly says, "Perhaps freedom is not won within our walls..."

Mother softly says, "...and outside of our homes..."

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd says, "He was here committing men to the fight during the Griffon Sword war."

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd says, "During Jantalar."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "When you want to catch a rat, you become the rat."

Speaking to Mother, Perigourd asks, "Where were you?"

Speaking mildly to Asben, Tikba asks, "Should we oppose them because we are scared of what will happen to us if we do not?"

Speaking to Asben, Vaemyr says, "We should do our utmost to PROTECT our people and town, starting a war certainly doesn't do that."

Mother softly says, "...but in the yards of our enemies."

Alosaka says, "We can only do the best we can with the time and instruments fates gives us. Right now, fate presents us with a choice -- welcome our new neighbors, or spurn them as part of some Imperial plot. I have made my choice."

Speaking to Mother, Guarrin says, "Ah, I fear that does over step your bounds."

Mother turns around.

Lunatick says, "Go deep into the empire."

The voice of Alnwick asks, "So we take da fight to dem?"

Lunatick says, "And do stuffs."

Lunatick says, "And not 'ere."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Asben says, "I think you should listen to the people of the town."

Mother walks off into the crowd, who many among them nod to her or whisper to her as she passes into the shadows of an alleyway.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee offers, "It would likely be easier to collapse the tunnels, if we wish to flood the streets from the bay. That would allow the waters to flow in naturally. Collapsing such would likely be a far simpler process and require less power than raising a giant wave from the bay."

Lunatick says, "Rude."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "I've tried playing things the nice way. 'Wait and see,' 'give them a chance,' 'just in case'... And it got us blood cults occupying our tower and an Adjudicator harvesting our people for blood, among other things."

Lunatick says, "She didnt' even say bye."

Tolmis quietly says, "Even the greatest of us suffer from pride."

Tolmis wanders off.

Tikba blandly says, "Perhaps the constable should be called. Throwing stones is assault."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "And then the same people who encouraged me to extend these benefits of the doubt turned on me when things went wrong, as I knew they would." [...knew they would go wrong, that is.]

Speaking to Leafiara, Asben says, "We ALWAYS play nice and wait and see what happens."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "I ummm appreciate the help in explaining how easy it would be I guess."

The townspeople slowly break up and wander off to their homes.

Discussion Afterward

Alosaka asks, "Oh, now we have crimes to report?"

Asben says, "It has never worked out."

Kayse whispers something to Tikba.

Asben says, "Not once."

Speaking simply to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "Of course."

Speaking to Roelon, Randsford says, "Great timing."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "Yes. Throwing stones at people is a crime."

Asben says, "Time to try something different."

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka says, "Funny, almost as if their threats have somehow evolved into actual violence."

Markx says, "Well that was anticlimatic."

Speaking deeply to Randsford, Roelon says, "Ah heard Mother was here, ah am sure she is resistant to the kilt anyways."

Alnwick says, "I guess she didn't want to recruit me."

Speaking to Asben, Drazaa responds, "What do you propose?"

Kiyna says, "Snowballs are not stones, thankfully."

Asben says, "Just what was offered."

Guarrin mutters, "Sad to see."

Speaking to Leafiara, Irval asks, "You would have us fight the empire then? I dont see that working well for any of the parties involved, and leaves us in a weakened state for Gnull's forces. And do not for one second think that they won't . They are Predators and will seek our throat if we allow it?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "And yes, imagine. People are held accountable for crimes when those crimes are actually committed."

Speaking to Roelon, Randsford says, "Seems we could offer refuge in Icemule if it comes to it and the rest of the Council agrees."

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka says, "Well, let me know when that happens."

Speaking mildly to Kiyna, Tikba says, "Well, they were not, it appears."

Asben says, "Maybe Gnul would join us to help defend their home."

Ulfwine says, "It seems Tolmis has slipped out as well."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia asks, "And how do you know if Gnul sees us fighting the Empire he wont turn and assist us with them?"

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "I hope the constable can find whoever did it."

Guarrin says, "Indeed. however, he did seem willing to talk further."

Kayse says, "Gnul won't even speak with us. He is determined to crush us."

Speaking to Irval, Bellaja asks, "I don't think we there should be a war, but honestly... are the right questions being asked?"

Speaking to Kayse, Asben says, "Because he doesn't realize we could be allies."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Been there before, tried to juggle multiple enemies and put off fighting one. We ended up fighting both anyway."

Irval says, "It would be a marriage of convience and back to enemies if we did."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I understand, that history is certainly not favorable here. But I still cannot justify just going to war with the Imperials, no good will come of it. There has to be another way."

Speaking to Kayse, Chandrellia says, "Becasue he sees us helping them and defending them."

Speaking skeptically to Asben, Tikba says, "Mother claimed Gnul himself was an Imperial plot."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara asks, "Weren't you the one person on the jury who didn't want to let Tyrrax go? Who wanted to prolong the battle and fight until the end?"

Irval says, "He was attacking us before they even showed up."

Speaking to Asben, Tikba asks, "How then shall we ally with him?"

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara asks, "Regardless of the damage to town?"

Tikba asks, "Or do you not believe her?"

Speaking to Tikba, Ulfwine says, ""Hard to take someone seriously when they say things like that."

Asben says, "I don't have all the answers."

Irval says, "I wanted justice for the townspeople of Landing."

Asben says, "I'm just tied of hoping something will be better than we know it will be."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara asks, "Because you believe in an ideal so strongly that you'd risk lives for it, yes?"

Asben says, "Lets just play nice and wait."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Your ideal of justice."

Irval says, "I did and yes still do."

Asben says, "Then the imperials will build a big fort right outside our walls."

Asben says, "And then it will be too late."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Their ideal is freedom. That's my point."

Speaking to Tikba, Nairena says, "Thats not such a fare-fetched idea. The timing of the two seems sketchy."

Xorus says, "They did. In 5115."

Irval says, "But are we not free? How can the Baron of Darkstone be anything but a boon for the economy and its people with added defense. As well as the potential for more Pylons."

Kelfyr asks, "Why build one when they're looking to occupy several within the new borders?"

Irval says, "Perhaps we can even get enough to ensure no one could take our walls.."

Tikba mildly says, "The Imperials are here now. Ask them to step outside of the gates. The constable will not follow you."

Alosaka asks, "If we cannot agree on all matters, perhaps we can agree on some? Does the Council still support providing arms to the Earl's forces?"

Bellaja asks, "Honestly, would it hurt to get answers to some of the questions that are held concerning the motives and process the Empire has taken?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Vaemyr says, "We already voted on the deal."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "Of course. That was the deal. I did not sign it for no reason."

Irval says, "I was very unsure of the Expansion."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Boons for the economy are how we invited Praxopius in, who led an attack on Glaoveln and created the scheme that led the krolvin to return to attack last year."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "It is signed and in effect."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia asks, "Has your mother ever told you, I brought you in thios woprld I can take you out?"

Nairena says, "Invaders create an enemy to confuse those they are invading. Its like letting the landing folks do all the work while they..."

Pookia says, "It was already voted for."

Irval says, "Until the Soon to Be Baron told us of the letter for Landing to retain its independence."

Nairena says, "Oh."

Xorus says, "Praxopius should have just trusted me a little more."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Alosaka says, "The council has been known to have regrets in the past. Just making sure that is not the case now."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Lylia justified it on the basis of the dockworkers improving in shipbuilding skills, but Praxopius had other schemes in mind that drew the krolvin straight here for war."

Speaking to Irval, Asben asks, "Just play nice... and when the imperials have a big enough army right outside our walls... what's to stop them from taking the landing?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I mean... did Prax do a lot more than that? I think leading to the events last year was kinda low on his attrocity list...."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "With all due respect, we are different individuals. It's extremely crass to judge us for the actions of any past council."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "He had the White Sparrows attack us with bombs and abducted Marshal Thrayzar to brainwash him into becoming Rone." [Leafi shouldn't have stopped there since Praxopius also abducted Malluch Burdos and brainwashed him into becoming Rone, which in its roundabout way led to the circumstances of the rise of both blood cults.]

Irval says, "If that day comes. Then I will break many bones before my own give out."

Speaking to Asben, Ulfwine says, ""What's ever stopped them? They could have many times over and have not."

Bellaja says, "They don't need an army. It's why none came with their caravans."

Alosaka asks, "Another question, then. If we cannot agree about the Earl and the Barony -- and it seems we cannot -- how do we feel about the settlement? What does the Council say about it?"

Asben says, "Takes a lot of work to bring that big of an army here."

Asben says, "And to build the fortifications needed to support it."

Bellaja says, "They.. do not need one. You welcomed them and offered your people as a welcome."

Irval says, "But until it happens. Until I see malfeaseance and anything other than wanting to help settle this frontier. I will continue to protect the innocent. Be they imperial or Citizen. Or some wandering merchant trying to sell his goods."

Asben says, "Once they are here..."

Ulfwine says, "If they wanted the Landing so badly, they could have it, and could have had it long since."

Asben says, "But lets just play nice and wait it out... it's worked so well every other time."

Tikba whispers something to Kayse.

Bellaja says, "Having said that, I am not speaking out against the Empire as an enemy."

Bellaja says, "But honestly, this is a big deal that is being coated over."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "About the settlement? How do you mean? In what way, that is."

Elliathe asks, "I still, admittedly, can't shake the concern that once they have settled up Darkstone, where do they go next?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka says, "There is a considerable faction that seems inclined to... dislocate the settlement, let's say."

Irval says, "Pardon a sec. I need to flag down an urchin to deliever a message."

Speaking suddenly to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Darn, I was so caught up in describing history that I forgot to get a mask while I had the chance."

Speaking to Elliathe, Asben says, "Here."

Alosaka says, "Invite the settlers to find somewhere else to settle."

Tikba produces a smooth stone from the depths of her white flyrsilk toqua.

Tikba offers Leafiara a smooth stone.

Bellaja taps a silver-inked ivory parchment nailed to a wall outside of Moot Hall.

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I seriously can't believe you were not the first to get a mask."

Speaking amusedly to Tikba, Leafiara says, "That's a smooth stone."

Bellaja says, "Look at this."

Leafiara accepts Tikba's smooth stone.

Tikba nods in agreement at Leafiara.

Speaking to Leafiara, Kelfyr says, "I doubt they're running out."

Speaking to Leafiara, Tikba says, "For throwing."

Speaking amusedly to Tikba, Leafiara says, "Oh."

Speaking to Leafiara, Tikba says, "You will need it soon, no doubt."

Bellaja says, "Nothing on here about helping settlers."

Leafiara offers Tikba a smooth stone.

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "You can also skip that on the lake too."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "I have no intention to remove them by force."

Tikba accepts Leafiara's smooth stone.

Leafiara says, "I find lots of stones, no shortage there."

Speaking to Asben, Vaemyr asks, "Also if you felt so strongly, why didn't you ask to receive a mask when Mother was offering?"

Tikba says, "I suppose you have your own things to throw."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "The council doesn't have that power even if we voted unanimously, anyhow."

(OOC) Irval's player whispers to the group, "You guys let me know if Im way off base in what ive been saying. ive been trying to draw the certain avents that have happened so far into a amoeba since its kinda all over the place. But I feel from my perspective that we give peace a chance but prepare for war just in case. As we are landing . And Death is at our doorstep even without the Empire here."

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka asks, "And if others attempt to?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "Stormy would kick him out of the militia, maybe?"

Speaking to a silver-inked ivory parchment nailed to a wall outside of Moot Hall, Bellaja says, "Nothing about helping the Landing. Only questions about a grab for power with all here as the bait."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kelfyr asks, "Why does it have to be either volunteer or disagree?"

Asben says, "I'd like to hear more."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Tikba says, "You must ask Mother that question."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "Our jurisdiction ends at our walls. We do not own the lands the Imperials are camping on. We are not bound by any agreement to defend them, either. That said, many of us will. I have been among them before."

Speaking to Bellaja, Nairena says, "Its like a bunch of hands are inside the cookie jar fighting over that last cookie."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Vaemyr says, "Good question, why does it need to be only those two opinions."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Asben says, "But i like what I've heard so far."

Speaking to Nairena, Bellaja says, "They are."

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka asks, "And the settlers going about business in our walls? What happens when stones are tossed at them?"

Elliathe says, "Is there a reason the Landing has never claimed any land? I am curious on that point."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "If we can catch stone-throwers, they'll be arrested."

Speaking to Kiyna, Guarrin says, "I am concerned about individuals that are just passing through, trying to make a better life."

Speaking to Elliathe, Leafiara says, "Mayor Puptilian and Mayor Lylia did try, but the town councils of the time--in 5115 and 5118, I believe--declined." [OOC note: 5118 is for sure. I don't recall on Puptilian, though, especially since I wasn't playing at the time]

Speaking to Elliathe, Kelfyr says, "I believe a lack of authority is one concern."

Tikba mildly says, "One must hope there will be witnesses who think throwing stones is wrong."

Speaking to Guarrin, Missoni says, "Much like those who settled this town, in face."

Missoni says, "In fact."

Speaking to Tikba, Alosaka says, "I suspect we'll find out."

Speaking to Guarrin, Bellaja says, "As we need to be."

Speaking to Missoni, Guarrin says, "Oh, how about that."

Elliathe says, "A moment please."

Speaking to Guarrin, Kiyna says, "As Mother described in detail, the Landing has been bitten. Many, many, many, many times. That the same hand - perceived, mind you - has also defended them before hardly lessens the sting."

Alosaka notes, "They don't look like invaders to me."

Xorus says, "We tried to establish a claim to the surrounding region, but the town council of 5118 would not cooperate."

Speaking to Guarrin, Kiyna says, "It's a very difficult situation."

Chandrellia says, "Yeah neitehr did Vlashandra."

Speaking to Alosaka, Chandrellia says, "But I guess that was ok."

Speaking to Xorus, Missoni says, "I imagine the situation would be much different if it had."

Speaking to Kiyna, Guarrin says, "Certainly. I would always suggest evaluating each situation on its own merit. And, perhaps, if all of those terrible things can be recalled some of the positives can as well."

Speaking to Asben, Vaemyr says, "I helped rescue a kid from one of the caravans, I think he's still running around the encampment, I know there's others there, just people trying to live in a new place. They certainly are not the enemy that people think. Are there potentially people whom want to take advantage of things, people whom might turn out to be another Grishom, another Vlashlandra, another Praxopius? Sure. And we should try and find them, and get rid of them. But to blanketly call all of them enemies, invaders, is fairly nonsense."

Speaking deeply to Vaemyr, Roelon asks, "True...blame the one who brought them aye?"

Asben says, "The families are one thing... it's the soldiers parked outside our doors that i don't like."

Asben says, "And there will be more."

Asben says, "As they grow."

Asben says, "You're blind if you don't see it."

Bellaja asks, "Who is to say the Empire will send soldiers?"

Pookia says, "It just feels like a test of how much we're willing to give outright, dipping their toes in the pool of generosity, to see how much they can drain it."

Tikba says, "There will be more if you remove the soldiers."

Tikba says, "It is the families you must remove, if you wish the soldiers to be gone."

Speaking to Missoni, Xorus says, "The Empire ended up giving the Elven Nations a small piece of land, and in turn denying any rightful claim of others to these surroundings."

Alosaka says, "I think we all make the mistake if we point at individuals and call them the Empire. Vlashandra was evil, yes, but she was not the Empire. Raznel, Grishom, even Chaston... yes, all evil people. But the Empire is filled with people of good hearts as well."

Speaking to Roelon, Vaemyr says, "I don't blame Elidal either, not until he shows he should be blamed. The Earl? Maybe. I do not know him, and this entire thing might be part of his ambition, but only those whom have ill intent shall receive my ire."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "Just trying to live in a new place? yet it has to be right outside our walls, isnt here enough wooded areas around teh Empire for them? and I honestly dont think they are here to just settle, I mean Rodney, said there was something odd about them, the soon to be Baron, only has interest in teh Reach and Darkstone, I dont even think he cares what happen to the, settlers, as you call them."

Guarrin says, "From what he was saying the other night, they are all green. Untrained."

Leafiara says, "It's true that not literally every person in the camp is our enemy. That said, the second most powerful mentalist we've ever encountered, who saved us and the entire region from the Blameless, has already told us that Enisius couldn't be trusted, so we have at least one out there--in a very high-ranking position no less."

Bellaja says, "The only way you will see a stong showing from the Empire's forces is if you don't continue to comply with their plans."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kelfyr says, "There are scant few groups in all of history who don't contain a variety of temperments."

Speaking to Xorus, Missoni says, "It is no surprise that someone moved in, truly."

Speaking to Leafiara, Tikba demurs, "Every person in the camp is your enemy, if you wish the camp to be gone."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Alosaka says, "Why shouldn't they settle as near to us as possible? We have the port, the roads, the shops, the farms, even the damn cemetery is ours."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kelfyr says, "That doesn't mean their greater aims aren't misguided, or wrong, or downright wicked."

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "It's also a temporary settlement."

Speaking to Alosaka, Perigourd says, "At least as planned."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja asks, "Can the council start with one decision?"

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara muses, "Well, people can be unwanted guests without being enemies, but fair point."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "Think of it this way. If a father is kind to his child six days out of the week, but on the seventh, beats them savagely, do we call this a good father? This is why the people of the Landing are hard to convince."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "It's an important one.."

Elliathe says, "Yes, until they clear out Darkstone, and once ensconced there, I would say they are like never to be removed."

Speaking to Guarrin, Kelfyr asks, "You would argue that good people don't follow bad leaders to do terrible things?"

Guarrin says, "Oh I am rather done with discussions at this point."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Will you all consider... deeply and question, thoroughly, the motives and intents of the Empire."

Speaking politely to Guarrin, Tikba asks, "Do you have a moment, sir knight?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Alosaka says, "I have experienced the evil you speak of. I have quite personally faced some of the names Mother mentioned, and fought them to my own death. But I am still happy to welcome those who would settle our lands with the aim of peace and prosperity."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Send folks to gather information."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Nothing to risk lives."

Speaking to Bellaja, Vaemyr asks, "What do you think we've been doing?"

Speaking amusedly to Tikba, Guarrin says, "Are you certain, I may be dangerous."

Guarrin joins Tikba's group.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Finding out the surface intent."

Tikba's group just went north.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "No dig for the true one."

Speaking to Alosaka, Chandrellia says, "Ys, aiming and hitting what you are aiming at, are two different things entirely."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "There truly might be none."

Irval asks, "We know Tolmis arrived in landing on the shiver. Stole something from the Captain. Then several attempts were made on the captains life by the organization of the Rooks. Furthermore we know that they have and always hated the Empire. Regardless of circumstance. We know that these consecutive attacks led the captain to become irrational and obviously enraged. This probably affected his sleep pattern and gave him some sort of mania. Now then we know the rooks are responsible for this but we dont know why. What we do know is it probably has something to do with Tolmis. This Manic captain then fired on the town killing people and sent his sailors to assault the civilian population at large. We also know that The earl and baron to be support Landing retaining its independence, While its not a guarantee , its what we got. We know that they are willing to help fight these forces arrayed against us and can count on as an ally. What am I missing besides the magical research ?"

Speaking to Bellaja, Vaemyr says, "Oh trust me, we have some shovels, but takes a while to dig through solid rock."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "We will hope it is face value."

Speaking quietly to herself, Leafiara sighs, "I really wish I'd cracked that joke I had in mind about how it was time for Mother to start passing out masks *before* she started passing out masks..."

Speaking to Bellaja, Elliathe says, "But better to actually know it."

Speaking dryly to Chandrellia, Alosaka says, "My record of hitting the people I aim at is reasonably good."

Speaking to Alosaka, Chandrellia says, "I wasnt referring to you."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "I think that everyone here would feel better with a little reassurance."

Alosaka says, "Well, I'm glad we clarified so much tonight."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "You all have done well, but.. much has transpired since your original parlay."

Speaking to Alosaka, Chandrellia asks, "Yes, it is good to get things out in the open eh?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Missoni says, "I actually learned quite a bit."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "Mother didn't give me a mask because she knows how unbiased I am and how I judge all things regarding those imps...those imperials fairly and justly."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "The knights could certainly help with this."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "Frankly, I don't trust their leadership yet. The Empire has brought many nightmares upon us. I would be a fool to take them at their word. I proceed cautiously."

Vaemyr says, "How many times I gotta say it? I stand for the freedom of this town. If the empire causes harm to us without provocation, then I'll be right up there on the roofs shooting them. Do I trust all their motives? Heck no. Do I believe we could push them back this time? Probably. Do I think that is a good idea? Also heck no."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Pukk asks, "Wait...aren't you a sorcerer?"

Alosaka says, "Then let us proceed cautiously."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Pukk exclaims, "You cast nightmares too....I knew it!"

Speaking to Pukk, Vaemyr says, "I have used that type of magic before yes."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "That's why I'm appealing to you. Try to assuage the unrest of these people afraid for their homes."

Kiyna says, "Invoker disappeared right in front of me..."

Pukk exclaims, "I knew it! You are a bringer of nightmares!"

Pukk says, "Whereas Leafiara is always in my daydreams."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Well, let's see... the Baron threatening the Icemule council. The Commander disrespecting a Town Councilor and, for that matter, the rest of the town. The unknown magic user shielding their minds. The countless proposals from the Town Council that the Baron declined until finally the only one that could mvoe forward was one proposed by himself..."

Bellaja says, "In my opinion there has not been enough due dilligence."

Pukk exclaims, "I already paid my dues!"

Pukk exclaims, "They are up to date!"

Roelon deeply says, "Ah kin offer something better, blessing onto ye..."

Roelon's eyes suddenly flash with a deep sanguine glow.

Roelon turns to face Kiyna.

Roelon playfully flips the folds of his black woolen kilt.

Roelon nods once.

Speaking to Roelon, Bellaja says, "You're nothing if not consistent."

Speaking to Bellaja, Vaemyr says, "I'm not sure what I can make more clear, we are certainly still investigating things, and will deal with problems as we find them. Obviously the biggest potential problems we know about right now, is an Imperial Captain whom has fired on people in the bay and fishing boats, and a Magister whom we know is hiding some of his intent."

Speaking to Roelon, Kiyna asks, "Blessing of the kilt, is it?"

Leafiara considers, "Well, next time I go to Icemule will certainly be interesting..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr asks, "Oh?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Randsford says, "Much to consider."

Speaking to Roelon, Kiyna says, "I am sure that will come in handy."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr asks, "Gonna recruit?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "Both of which, seem to be Imperials, hhmmm yup sounds, fishy to me."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr asks, "Gonna offer masks, go catch up to mother to hand some out?"

Speaking amusedly to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Oh, come now, you've been there more than often enough to see I don't even need to. They already consider the Empire the enemy there."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Roelon asks, "From what ah hear... perhaps Mother is seekin' to expand her business?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "I am not pointing the finger at you, sir. Merely trying to suggest a next move that all of us can partake in." You feel more refreshed.

Pukk exclaims, "Vaemyr is responsible for causing all the pot holes in our streets and roads!"

Randsford says, "Not enemy. We merely wish to rule ourselves without interference from EITHER empire."

Speaking to Roelon, Leafiara says, "It seems she's looking to repel the Empire by... some entirely unknown means."

Irval asks, "So if the empire was to...offer something to help ensure our independence? Would that be amendable?"

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Roelon says, "That does sound like her."

Leafiara says, "The one thing I'll say is I don't understand how exactly she thinks she can accomplish it."

Leafiara says, "Unless the Rooks are a far larger organization than I think."

Chandrellia says, "Uummm the council tried, as leafi already explained."

Speaking to Leafiara, Irval says, "Maetyrdom."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kelfyr says, "They do seem to be growing."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Dendum isn't here to say so, so I'll tell you what he would say in his stead."

Leafiara says, "Which... I mean, maybe they are larger. They do usually get a ton of recruits when Imperial deals start flying."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk asks, "I started a Rooks fan club...want to join?"

Speaking to Bellaja, Vaemyr says, "I would recomend people whom might be interested in seeing Enisius's intentions to fill that application right there."

Speaking lightly to Pukk, Leafiara says, "It's all good since I'm already the Rook Queen."

Vaemyr points at a silver-inked ivory parchment nailed to a wall outside of Moot Hall.

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "He would say, 'Anything the Empire gives, it can take away. Words on paper mean nothing.' Or something like that."

Irval says, "Hard to take away defensive pylons."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "We just need 8 more people and we can make it an official club."

Irval says, "When pointedat you."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "I can't imagine why everyone here wouldn't want to know of his intentions."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Not if you knw how to deactivate them."

Irval says, "Enough of them and walls thick enough."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Last time I joined a Grand Magister's signup sheet, there was a 33% chance he was going to attempt to steal my soul. Luckily for me, and unluckily for her, he settled on Shinann."

Irval says, "So we put our own Magister's on it to ensure they can't be tampered with."

Speaking to Irval, Tikba says, "We do not have any Magisters."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "We dont have a Magister."

Irval says, "Well that stinks."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "In our deal that we brokered with Elidal, we asked for connections to the stone market. We plan to build a larger, more fortified stone wall."

Leafiara says, "Well, we do have Magister Bekke, but she's been away a while."

Leafiara says, "Other than a brief run at the town council in 5120."

Chandrellia says, "Realee is not, ours, she is her own person as I was quickly corrected last week."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Thankfully he's not a Grand Magister? Of course also begs the question of the mentalist that's on par with Rodnay and Grishom."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Raelee says, "Correct."

Speaking deeply to Randsford, Roelon says, "Seems much to ponder indeed."

Vaemyr says, "Wish Rodnay would of been around longer, I had some more questions that came to my mind on the matter."

Irval asks, "Im sure Magister Raelee would maybe be up to the task to ensure any pylons we might recieve could not be tampered with for a fee?"

Pukk says, "Owly is a grand magister. But he is too busy with other things to do this too."

Speaking to Raelee, Chandrellia says, "See I can retain knowledge, sometimes."

Leafiara says, "Of course, half of you would probably not approve of Magister Bekke trying to get involved with Enisius considering her... history with a few of the Rooks."

Kiyna says, "And before anyone says so, no we can't just use any old stone lying around, or the boulders Gnul hurls at us. We need properly quarried stone to stand up to our enemies, and we have no local quarry."

Speaking to Roelon, Randsford says, "Best if we stay neutral and prepare for refugees as I say."

Speaking to Irval, Raelee says, "That is not possible. Tampering can be rendered unlikely, but not be rendered impossible."

Leafiara says, "The boy you sometimes see making stew in the Rusty Cutlass, Acorn, was very close with Magister Bekke."

Speaking deeply to Randsford, Roelon says, "We hae our own ....little avalanche to dig out of."

Randsford says, "Long as no empire sets foot on the glaciers near us there should be no issues."

Chandrellia exclaims, "I like Acorn!"

Pukk says, "Acorn makes good stew."

Kelfyr removes some kettle-cooked buttery sweet popcorn from in his brown leather longcloak.

Kelfyr takes a bite of his sweet popcorn.

Speaking to Roelon, Randsford says, "Yes we shall see how that plays out soon enough..."

Speaking suddenly to Kelfyr, Leafiara says, "Oh, I forgot my popcorn tonight. I suppose it was a more serious night, after all..."

Speaking to Raelee, Irval says, "I see. Well better than nothing I say."

Speaking thoughtfully to her salty popcorn, Leafiara says, "Another time."

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "That was I think the "imperial walls" comment tha Mother made, but honestly whom cares, better walls and defenses to protect our town are a good thing, and I refuse to believe otherwise."

Kelfyr offers Leafiara some kettle-cooked buttery sweet popcorn.

Speaking to Randsford, Raelee says, "I do not think the Empire is setting its sights that far North - but even if it were, it is going to take many years to develop Darkstone first. Any hypothetical movement in that direction is likely ten, twenty years away."

Kelfyr says, "Brought extra."

Speaking to Raelee, Kiyna asks, "I have a question. Can we make a... super... mega pylon that could just blow away Thanatoph?"

Speaking amusedly to Kelfyr, Leafiara admits, "I do have some, just... forgot to eat it on the spot."

Leafiara declines Kelfyr's offer.

Speaking sincerely to Kelfyr, Leafiara says, "But appreciated."

Speaking to Raelee, Randsford says, "Gives us plenty of time to prepare."

Randsford says, "We hope."

Irval says, "And if they break their promise...we can just take Darkstone for ourselves."

Roelon deeply says, "Ah don' see them reclaimin' that castle..It might claim them instead."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "There was... one good point though I gotta say, what was the Earl's motive for all of this."

Speaking to Kiyna, Perigourd says, "Pure enough plinite, but that's unlikely to be attainable."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "If it was that easy dont think we would have already."

Speaking to Roelon, Leafiara says, "Most likely."

Kelfyr says, "I sincerely worry that they'll awaken Sheruvian interest in the goings on."

Speaking to Kiyna, Raelee says, "Hypothetically? Yes. It is likely to cause avalanches, great dust plumes, and broad damage to the surrounding landscape, however."

Speaking suddenly to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "Wait, motive for what?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Raelee says, "But if that is acceptable, we could proceed."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "You don't believe the line about it being because of the destruction of Talador?"

Speaking to Raelee, Tikba says, "Indeed, that would be the goal."

Speaking deeply to Randsford, Roelon says, "See ye back north."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Establishing THIS barony, here at this time."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Oh, you mean why geographically here instead of anywhere else."

Speaking to Raelee, Kiyna says, "Duly noted."

Speaking to Raelee, Perigourd asks, "Can you enhance my hand pylon to do the same?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Right, that's what I said earlier, I think they're after the Reach and Darkstone Castle. That's why here, and that's why their Magister was among the first to arrive."

Speaking to Perigourd, Raelee says, "Perhaps, though I suspect you would be incinerated in attempting to use it."

Speaking to Raelee, Perigourd says, "Sounds like a design flaw then."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "But would the Earl care about that? All of this would of started from him."

Vaemyr says, "I feel like there's something missing in that puzzle."

Kelfyr says, "It does also shore up their access to the sea across the lands south of the river."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I mean... those are two very powerful centers of magic."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "Yeah a big missing piece is, who is shielding their minds from us."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Maybe the Archmagister suggested it."

Irval asks, "And as they take and rebuild Darkstone, We could always ingratiate some of our builders to insert said design flaws to ensure that if they broke their promise, we could break their walls. I mean did I say that?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Elliathe says, "It does beg one to wonder, if they already have information on those locales that we are not privy to."

Raelee says, "Their magister was amongst the first to arrive because he is the Baron's brother and closest advisor."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "There's a dozen or more others throughout the empire already."

Raelee says, "The Hall, on the other hand, has been here in some form for approximately a decade as is."

Speaking to Raelee, Perigourd says, "Not to mention providing cover for his brothers very arrival by the river."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "And they've worked out well, so why not try to get more?"

Irval asks, "There was another magister on the shiver as well wasm there not?"

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara asks, "Well, so the claim goes, but that's... unrelated?"

Irval says, "But is it."

Tikba says, "The Magister on the Shiver is not engaged in any magic."

Irval says, "Tolmis is part of the Rooks, he came from that crew, same crew the magister is on."

Leafiara says, "I meant unrelated to the officials sent by the Earl."

Leafiara says, "Well, unless fishy business is going on, which I certainly can't write off."

Pukk says, "All this mushy hugs and celebrations is getting too much."

Pukk says, "I'm going to bed."

Leafiara says, "But so far there's no indication Bodohal's crew has anything to do with Elidal and his people."

Raelee states, "I would like to make an observation."

Raelee says, "So much of this rhetoric is an emotional appeal based upon fear of hypotheticals. However, very little of this is accompanied by genuine analysis of what is *likely* to occur."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "I have a couple theories on that, but without information it's hard to figure out what exactly. First of all, was it every person in the encampment or just some that were "shielded." We know Rodnay felt it "familiar" so probably someone or something we've encountered in the past."

Bellaja says, "We don't have enough knowledge to make any accurate decisions."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "All accourding the meantalist."

Kiyna says, "If you'll all excuse me. I'm going to get some rest..."

Leafiara considers, "I can recall very few times dealing with crises in the Landing when what anyone thought was likely is what happened..."

Speaking to Bellaja, Leafiara says, "Probably because of exactly that."

Speaking to Bellaja, Raelee says, "And thus, information becomes a priority."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "I mean, I have no reason to distrust what Rodnay says... heck I'm not even sure Rodnay is capable of lies."

Speaking to Raelee, Bellaja says, "Indeed. Which is why I was urging Vaemyr."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "And similarly, someone should likely ask him why."

Irval says, "No point in jumping at shadows, unless said shadows hide a certain Rook Mother."

Irval says, "Which Im definitely not going to be able to sleep tonight."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia asks, "So what if they do?"

Irval says, "That woman just gives me the heebie jeebies."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Wish I could, have about 10 questions I'd ask if he was here right now."

Leafiara says, "She's never hurt me. Saved my life a couple times without me even asking, actually."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Then you dont know her."

Speaking to Irval, Elliathe says, "I agree, and the fact she singled me out."

Vaemyr asks, "Me though! she ordered me killed before, at least I assume it was her?"

Tikba mildly says, "She is certainly a powerful speaker."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Irval says, "I've seen her type before."

Irval says, "They are all willing to go and have everyone spill blood for a cause so long as its not her own."

Speaking to Tikba, Raelee says, "Indeed, but she is largely the source of the rhetoric without analysis that I spoke of."

Tikba says, "Observe how effective she was at convincing the crowd to stone her enemies."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia asks, "Aahhh so you judge someone by someone elses past? yet you wish us yo welcome the Empire based on that same thoery?"

Speaking to Elliathe, Leafiara says, "I think she just heard something you said and considered you a possible ally, so it was an open question."

Irval says, "Naw Im judging her by the goose egg on my head."

Speaking to Irval, Bellaja says, "And yet the Empire gets us to spill blood for a cause they claim and won't risk their own on."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "She didnt throw the stone, a townsperson did."

Leafiara adds, "And for the record, if any of you think Mother of all people is a convincing speaker, then you should have seen Rysus... now that guy was charismatic."

Irval says, "Coulda been a plant."

Irval says, "To sow dissent."

Irval says, "She hides behind orphans."

Irval says, "Shes capable of anything."

Kelfyr says, "Could have been some folks upset at the ranting."

Kelfyr asks, "Who's to say?"

Irval says, "Using children as a shield..."

Speaking to Irval, Bellaja says, "Or cares for them."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "If Mother wanted to throw something at you, it would have stuck in your head, not bounced off it."

Elliathe says, "That is the part I cannot abide."

Leafiara says, "Mother's quite frankly not charismatic at all. The Landing just already has such little trust in the Empire that it's easy for anyone to rally people."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "Honestly that was my entire argument earlier for trying to give Elidal, potentially a fair shake, that the Rooks deserve that too. Again they have been a solid ally ever since Mother's unmasking."

Speaking mildly to Chandrellia, Tikba says, "Instead she wanted other people to throw things."

Tikba says, "It is certainly a more effective demonstration that way."

Vaemyr says, "Not trust him, mind you, but like... a chance."

Speaking to Leafiara, Elliathe says, "But that mistrust has been earned over many years, and therein lies the rub."

Speaking to Tikba, Chandrellia asks, "I didnt hear Mother once, ask for anyone to trhow anything?"

Irval says, "Or lets make effigies of burning settlers hung by the neck. Innocents mind you."

Irval says, "Not soldiers."

Irval says, "Not warriors."

Irval says, "Innocents..."

Irval says, "Yah I can't throw my lot in with those who deem these actions justifiable."

Vaemyr says, "Straw."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia asks, "What chance should we offer when there is deciectful thing beng hideen in that emcampment?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Tikba asks, "Do you really think they would have done it without her?"

Irval says, "Straw effigies yes."

Speaking to Tikba, Chandrellia says, "I have seen worse."

Irval says, "But one for each settler to arrive."

Irval says, "That was a statement and a threat."

Speaking sympathetically to Chandrellia, Tikba says, "That is unfortunate."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "The child shields thing happened about a decade ago at this point, and three leaders ago. Most or possibly all of those Rooks have been killed by now, or even left to join other organizations like the Bayrunners."

Elliathe says, "It's much like hiding a wolf amongst the sheep in herd after herd, then the sheep thinking all newcomers to the herd are wolves."

Speaking to Raelee, Tikba says, "She made one important claim which she would not try to substantiate."

Elliathe says, "They've earned that wariness."

Speaking to Leafiara, Irval says, "Then maybe they should rename their organization. Something not tainted with using child shields."

Speaking to Tikba, Elliathe says, "That the Empire set up Gnul."

Speaking to Tikba, Chandrellia says, "I saw townsfolks attack people outside this very hall... and Mother was nowhere around, its fear they have, and being scared, it tends to push one to do things they wouldnt normally do."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "I'm not even sure where to start there, but I'm pretty sure the Rooks have plenty of secrets, otherwise everyone would be able to walk through a certain door behind a certain thing."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Now, on that point I agree and I've told them so before. They should really have just picked a new name to establish they've changed."

Speaking to Tikba, Elliathe says, "I was most interested in that claim myself."

Tikba noncommittally says, "I would have liked her to speak more on that. Perhaps she could not."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia asks, "You seem to know some pretty impresive details, are you sure you arenta Rook?"

Vaemyr says, "And again, I'm not saying you need to trust everyone, but focus that power on the bad ones."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "If I am, I should be way more popular... or I'm the best hidden asset they've got."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Without knowing true intent, who is anyone to claim good and bad."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia asks, "Then who do you think is teh bad ones?"

Speaking to Bellaja, Vaemyr says, "That's what we gotta find out."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Again. Information."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Let's push for that."

Bellaja says, "More of that."

Bellaja says, "The council has done well by the people so far."

Irval says, "Bottom line is we need to assure the townspeople that we wont become the imps, Retain our indepedence, get a guarantee of that independence through strength of arms or defensive fortifications, Defeat the Mountain Alliance, Save settlers, Investigate the reach, Investigate the darkstone. And do it without our own people turning against us and stabbing us in the back."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "Purely on speculation? I have high suspicions of Enisius, I have high suspicians of the Sylvan none of us have met. But that is basically my "gut"."

Irval asks, "Did I miss anything?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "Why dont you round up a few rooks and allow them to infiltrate the settlement and get viable information, oh wait they probly already have, and just waiting for you to ask them abouit it."

Bellaja says, "But we need more decisive actions at a faster rate."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr asks, "Like the Rooks haven't already infiltrated the camp?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Elliathe says, "Enisius is the one that concerns me foremost as well."

Bellaja says, "You're months behind in this game."

Vaemyr says, "They probably did that the during the second set of caravans."

Bellaja says, "If not a year."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "Thats my point! now trust them enough to do whats right and allow them to give that information when its the right time, trust as you said, can be a good thing."

Speaking to Elliathe, Tikba asks, "What concerns you about Magister Enisius?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "I've trusted them enough so far to think they won't start murdering people, but as we all say. Trust is earned, and they still have a long way to go as do the Imperials."

Irval says, "All I know is that lady had me stoned."

Speaking to Tikba, Elliathe says, "Part of it was the .. feel of him, just something in the pit of my gut, but beyond that? He is the one that seems to want to push action at delving into the arcane at both Darkstone and the Reach. That gives me pause. That is on his behest, from the way Elidal has spoken of it."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "She literally stopped them from stoning you..."

Tikba says, "It is easy to stop that which you start."

Irval asks, "After how many?"

Kelfyr says, "You accused her people of the exact opposite of their actions."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia asks, "So you place them, the Rooks that have defended this town time and time again to the Imperials that have done nothing to aid us thus far with anything that has happened?"

Irval says, "I accused her of not bleeding outside the gates with the rest of us yes."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara asks, "Wait a minute... you think those various townspeople throwing rocks were all secretly Rooks? Or mostly?"

Kelfyr exclaims, "They bled inside the gates!"

Irval says, "I think that they were plants."

Irval says, "Yes."

Kelfyr exclaims, "Inside them!"

Tikba wryly says, "Mother is persuasive indeed, that she can inspire a man to be stoned, and inspire all the spectators to forget what took place."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "You werent there when she went against AMos, she did bleed, a lot."

Irval says, "Why wouldnt they be plants, Knowing who she is."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "Okay, in that case you've got an entirely different problem you need to face--now you have reason to suspect that any particular person around you might be a Rook."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara says, "How you deal with that in a satisfactory manner, I have no idea."

Tikba mildly says, "Well, not any particular person."

Tikba says, "Some particular people, perhaps."

Irval says, "Its not that, But dramatics are kinda of signature move of the Rooks."

Speaking to Irval, Bellaja says, "The Empire already admitted to walking among the townspeople gathering information for months."

Bellaja says, "No different."

Speaking to Tikba, Chandrellia says, "Well you could be a really good actor and just be pretending."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "Honestly? No, not really. The rook's actions don't make a ton of sense. They could accomplish the same thing as an official organization similar to what Amos has done with his Red Watch. Recruit, do their same activities, defend the town, defend freedoms."

Irval says, "You can't discount it. Because Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "But there's more to them than just what they say, and that is what I don't trust."

Leafiara says, "The Red Watch seems to operate within the same boundaries as the militia. For now, at least."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "There is more to me then what I say, does that mean I shouldntbe trusted? or Leafi, or anyone for that matter, every single person is more then what they say, yet we all trust each other to defend this town when its needed and dont blink about it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "They escort carvans and other shipments as well, well beyond these walls."

Speaking skeptically to Chandrellia, Raelee asks, "All?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Tikba says, "On that we agree."

Chandrellia says, "Ok you are an exception, you are just as you say, scary."

Tikba says, "I must go."

Chandrellia says, "I'm just saying, that not everyone shows their entire hand to everyone else."

Irval says, "Appreciate you taking a stone or two for me."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "Well, let me turn that back on you, I don't think you nor Leafi trust me? Even though I'm only speaking honestly with both of you. Have bled over and over for this town. Heck made great personal sacrifice to get rid of a certain blood tower, that I'll have to probably still suffer future consequences for."

Speaking to Tikba, Bellaja says, "Do go safely."

Raelee says, "What truly concerns me the most about the development of Darkstone is that now, my biannual requests for a transfer are even less likely to be accepted."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "If it makes you feel any better, I've shown my entire hand numerous times and people don't trust me either."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "As mayor a few times."

Raelee says, "... good evening. I am retreating to the Outpost."

Chandrellia says, "Good eve Magister."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Good evening Raelee."

Elliathe says, "Good eve."

Irval says, "Im gonna go thin the herd...minotaurs."

Irval says, "Get it."

Chandrellia says, "I'll watch for you."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I more or less implied this last time we spoke, but it's not even you I distrust. I just think you lend too much of your ear to others and let them guide your actions, so you end up lost in the process."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I could be wrong, of course."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I might just be remembering things I did, since we think alike, and assuming you're being the same."

Irval says, "I'll be around on the net if anyone wants to discuss these happenings further."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Oh once I step away from here, I'm done."

Elliathe says, "I think I shall return to the North myself."

Leafiara confesses, "I regret every time I listened to others' judgment instead of mine."

Leafiara says, "Every single time. I actually made a list of them once."

Irval asks, "Long list?"

Irval says, "Would like to read it sometime."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Me on the other, dont tend to listen enough and that also gets me in trouble."

Leafiara says, "Conversely, when I listened to my own judgment instead of others', I regretted it only once."

Irval exclaims, "Ok off to the Minos!"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "All I'm gonna say is this, I respect you, you stand by what you say and I do beleave you care for this town as much as any of us."

Leafiara says, "Maybe I'd better go before I get mired in self-pity."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Maybe I'll have to just start making my own judgements sometimes."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "With that being said, keep following your heart, regardless of what I or anyone elkse thinks."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "You're not my enemy, for the record."

Chandrellia says, "You should."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Just don't denounce people over the Tyrrax decision again.."

Kelfyr says, "The town won't burn tonight. Tomorrow, however, is another story."

Speaking quickly to Vaemyr, Leafiara adds, "Kidding, kidding."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I know you mean well. We always do."

Vaemyr says, "Like Mother said, even if I end up fighting the Rooks, as i would if I think they would truly cause harm to the town, I don't think they are our enemy."

Leafiara says, "I haven't even spoken up at many meetings lately. Would rather just eat popcorn in the back because it'll end up the same either way."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Oh I just know that'll come back to bite us, I still agree with the decision at the time."

Leafiara says, "Try our best, things go horribly wrong."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "You and teh others have a lot on your plate, I am not envious of you being in my office."

Leafiara says, "Every time."

Leafiara says, "I literally ran on a slogan of 'embrace the chaos' and then somehow spent two years forgetting how to do it."

Chandrellia says, "Ok I am off to get spells, I wish you all a Merry Eve."

Leafiara says, "But now I'm back on it."

Vaemyr says, "But darn it I swear, if the town comes out of this with stone walls at the end of all of it? Our council is gonna be heroes."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "I hope the best, but fear the worst."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I hope it works, I really do."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Not if they surround dead bodies."

Leafiara says, "History has taught me otherwise."

Speaking to Bellaja, Vaemyr exclaims, "Depends which bodies!"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Indeed."

Vaemyr says, "Alright I think my dark humor is getting to me, I should sleep."

Vaemyr says, "Night all."

Leafiara says, "Time to head off indeed."

Speaking to a silver-inked ivory parchment nailed to a wall outside of Moot Hall, Leafiara says, "I really hope nobody other than Raelee, Lylia, and Xorus actually signs up for this thing..."
