The official GemStone IV encyclopedia.
Hunched shoulders and a stooping posture, the mezic is humanoid in appearance, her clothes ill-fitting and made of simple cloth. Dark, beady eyes stare at you from beneath a mass of tangled grey hair as the mezic shuffles her hunched form back and forth. Its long, gnarled fingers contort in magical configurations as it glances maliciously about the area.
Hunting strategies
Casting the sorcerers' Corrupt Essence (703) effectively renders mezics practically harmless, since their main attacks are their spells.

Behind the Scenes
"Mezic" is seemingly an allusion to the mezuzah on top of the front doors of Bonespear Tower saying: "Maleskari reigns supreme in this tower." Mezuzahs are inscriptions on the doors of Jewish homes quoting scripture asserting their Lord is the one God. By implication, the mezics are cultists of the demon Maleskari, former students or associates of Bonespear. Mezuzahs are mythologically notable for warding off dybbuks, malicious spirits that attempt to possess other bodies. It is telling to note mezics originally wandered in the vesperti area, given all of the other unnatural hybrids in Foggy Valley.
