Synopsis

Mayor Thadston comes to the Moot Hall Council Chamber with news. By month's end, his office should be releasing details of the new Regional Envoy positions, regulations, and campaign rules; Cordarius is packed and gone, but has landed some role with Elidal. Commander Sablo is on the way, likely early next week with caravans from Riverwood. They'll be bringing soldiers, "none of them as good as me or half of you," but Thadston says the Landing militia and Order of the Silver Gryphon have offered to give them ongoing training.

Thrassus asks if there's been headway on the investigation of the mithril weapons supplied to the Ember Vale reivers and Thadston says the supplier came forward and he'll be addressing it shortly. The trial for Captain Bodohal will also be scheduled soon and he won't be sent south to face justice, unlike Stephos.

Speaking of Stephos, Thadston asks if anyone's heard of Captain Amsesh Rosk, as he doesn't recognize the name but had been sent a missive with a few questions from Idolone after krolvin attacked ships there in the middle of the night. He asks Councilor Kayse if the Black Hand Trading Company might be able to find out more since they had a ship bringing supplies to Idolone last Leyan; she says the reports she got indicated an uneventful delivery where things went as planned, but she can ask the crew if they saw anything.

Lastly, Thadston has a request. Casiphia's injuries have gotten worse since the Remnants attacked her and he wants her helped. Councilor Vaemyr says there's little to be done if she's as stubborn as Thadston about being examined, but that's Thadston's request: he wants help if he needs to arrange an examination she can't deny or escape from.

Leafiara says it would likely spark a street war; Thadston says that's just another Feastday. Chandrellia says that's not the way to approach it; he questions what is. Dendum asks for confirmation that Thadston wants help treating against her will the leader of an underground group that likes to shoot and stab things; he says she's still Casiphia.

Among continued objections from several others, Thadston says he knew his request wasn't popular, but something should be done to save someone's life if they can't accept and do it for themselves. Regardless, challenges continue to be raised by Dame Evia, Councilor Kiyna, Marshal Stormyrain, Lylia, Tikba, and more. Thadston asks if people think they should allow her to die if she refuses help; many people say yes.

Stormy questions the disrespect of forcing Thadston's will on Casi after Thadston himself and Thrayzar were presented with choices for dealing with their situations; Thadston asks if she'd walk away and honor the wishes of Kelfyr, "or Blades, or whoever the hell is in season" if he were dragged off into a spider den and asked not to be saved. She says Thadston doesn't control her and people let those they love decide their path, as she did Blades, even if it means you lose them. Thadston tells Kelfyr to hope he doesn't wind up in a spider den again.

Thadston calls their approach "crippling" and Tikba asks why he needs them; he says he guesses he doesn't. He says he gets it now: when he closed the portal to the Bleaklands, trapping himself there to protect the Landing, he forgot to ask if they wanted to be saved and should have thought about their feelings more--and next time he's thrown into another valence by the Ithzir, people should stop and ask if he wants to be saved since it was rude to help without his permission.

He says to forget he mentioned anything, then throws two chairs out of a window, one in each hand, and marches off. Nonetheless, after he's gone, Chandy and Leafi agree to try to contact Casi to seek voluntary help. By the time they send a letter later that night, Kelfyr has also added his words in extending the offer. [OOC note: the sent letter happened "off-screen," as it were.]

Awaiting Thadston

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a hazy ethereal puppy surrounded by a scintillating prismatic aura, the faenor Chandrellia disk inlaid with intersecting bands of jet, a grim will-o-wisp spirit that is flying around, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, the Sanies disk, the Falvicar disk, a timber jaguar, the Belrum disk, a gold-stitched dark brown bandana, a pair of maroon socks, the Samhail disk, the Ussey disk, an old well, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Oohhh seems a like another cool wind coming in off the Bay."

Speaking to Missoni, Bakarus asks, "I happened to see you mentioning about something crawling on your skin last eve? I hope that has cleared itself?"

Speaking to Bakarus, Missoni says, "It has not, sadly."

Speaking to Kayse, Chandrellia asks, "I dont sense Sir Cryheart so will it be you or Miss Stormy?"

Stormyrain says, "It will not be me."

Speaking to Bakarus, Missoni says, "It came from an extraplanar rift, I think. So I am not sure when it will ah... leave."

Speaking hesitantly to Chandrellia, Kayse asks, "I suppose me?"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Kayse observes, "You were out on th paddleboats?"

Stormyrain laments, "We didn't get a chance to try all the recipes."

Stormyrain says, "But the pepper was reason enough to return."

A faint cool rain falls from the sky, coating the streets of Wehnimer's Landing in glistening moisture.

Evia says, "Mmm, refreshment from the heavens."

Chandrellia says, "Aahhh well, this is a nice change."

Rasson says, "Moist delicious streets."

Lylia asks, "Did you say delicious treats, or delicious streets?"

Jahira says, "Yes."

Rasson says, "Streets."

Speaking to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Lylia asks, "How did I know that when I said 'treats,' you were listening?"

Speaking to Lylia, Chandrellia asks, "He has, owl hearing?"

Nairena exclaims, "Okay!"

Nairena says, "Whats happening."

Evia says, "If we poured alcohlic beverages all over the street, I think Guts would "drink" those "delicious street"."

Idasia exclaims, "I was headed that way anyway!"

Speaking to Ithilwyn, Kayse mentions, "Oh, that is a lovely scent."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Rasson says, "You were doing great till that big one came along."

[General] Goldstr exclaims, "Evenin Sir Andrews!"

Speaking to Rasson, Chandrellia says, "Yeah when it started absorbingmy spells, I knew I was done."

Speaking to Tikba, Nairena says, "Lady Ivas told me to stay inside last night. She saved my life."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "Evening, Mayor."

[General] Thadston thinks, "Well enough as can be with a camp full of targets, a town full of civil unrest, a mountain full of barbarians, and some tunnels full of bratty kids fighting over a toy."

Chandrellia whispers something to Tikba.

Nairena says, "Good call."

[General] Thadston thinks, "I'll be in the Council Chamber soon enough. I've no patience for the rain tonight."

[General] Lylia thinks, "I believe you have forgotten the insects under people's skin and the not-Aelotoi boiling out of a hole in the sky."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "What about the tunnels full of everblood spiders..."

[Moot Hall, Council Chamber]

A rich merlot carpet stretches from end to end of this large, spacious chamber, which is aglow from the moonlight shining in through several arched windows along an entire wall. Large, verdant green plants rest in terra cotta vases in each corner of the room, and the walls are decorated with detailed paintings of nearby historical landmarks. A circular table sits in the center of the room, surrounded by several wooden chairs. You also see the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, a pink oak door, a polished red cedar door, a reinforced oak door, an ivory-washed birch door and a wide burnished oak archway.

Speaking to Raelee, Nairena says, "I have to say this."

Speaking to Raelee, Nairena says, "Owly needs to lay off the pastries."

Thadston's News

Thadston arrives, pulling a sliver from his thumb.

Speaking to Nairena, Raelee says, "Unfortunately, that is likely a lesson that needs to be taught to... everyone else."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia asks, "Throwing chairs again?"

Thadston says, "Not tonight."

Thadston says, "It's leftover."

Nairena says, "Agreed."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Aahhh."

Thadston says, "Sorry...."

Thadston says, "Not tonight. Yet."

Speaking to Raelee, Nairena says, "Gave him a doughnut."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Well next time let a healer look at it, would hate for it to get infected."

Nairena curtsies to Thadston.

Thadston asks, "How is everyone tonight?"

Thadston says, "Good to hear."

Thadston nods.

Thadston smirks.

Speaking to Thadston, Falvicar asks, "I'm awake. And you?"

Evia says, "Grumpy."

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr says, "Jess fine."

Speaking sarcastically to Thadston, Kiyna says, "Still have a scarab crawling around inside me, so you know. Just dandy."

Speaking to Thadston, Lylia says, "Impatient."

Tikba politely says, "Well enough."

Speaking to Thadston, Falvicar says, "And alive despite the vampires at Moonsedge."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Falvicar, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Thadston says, "I have no solution for you. My arms are still woven with kroderine."

Thadston nods at Kiyna.

Kiyna nods appreciatively at Thadston.

Speaking to Thadston, Perigourd says, "The two might not be unrelated."

Speaking to Thadston, Nairena asks, "Is that a bad thing?"

Thadston says, "No, they might not."

Thadston says, "But that's for someone smarter than me in that regard."

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee says, "But eventually you will need to submit to those... smarter... for some analysis."

Chandrellia whispers something to Berkana.

Thadston nods at Raelee.

Thadston says, "Few things."

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr asks, "Wha be yer thoughts dis eve Mayor?"

Thadston laughs at Goldstr!

Thadston says, "You don't want my real thoughts Goldstr."

Goldstr chuckles.

Thadston says, "I may never get a vote again."

Thadston chuckles.

Goldstr says, "Mayhaps I nae do."

Goldstr grins at Thadston.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia exclaims, "Eh, honesty is the best policy!"

Nairena says, "Go easy on him, Amethyst."

Thadston says, "Speaking of voting..."

Lylia suggests, "It may one day be preferable to find other means of selecting leadership."

Kiyna muses, "I know what this is about..."

Thadston says, "By month's end my office should be releasing the details of the Regional Envoy positions, regulations, campaign rules, everything."

Nairena exclaims, "Select a Baron or King!"

Speaking to Lylia, Rhaladin asks, "Like killin tha' leader an' takin tha' throne?"

Thadston says, "Cordarius is packed and gone. But he hasn't gone far. I heard he's landed a role with Elidal. Unsure what."

Tikba mildly says, "We have barons enough to trouble us already without choosing our own."

Missoni says, "Oh, lovely."

Kelfyr says, "Not Emissary, at least."

Goldstr exclaims, "Ah!"

Vaemyr says, "He's helped us out a bunch, so good that he's still around."

Thadston says, "Elidal let me know Sablo is due in the coming days, probably early next week with some caravans from Riverwood, bringing the soon to be Baron's folks as well."

Speaking to Lylia, Goldstr says, "Nor I M'Lady but //."

Thadston says, "There's also some soldiers coming, as you've all heard."

Thadston says, "Wide range of folks, none of them as good as me or half of you."

Nairena asks, "More soldiers?"

Evia says, "Aah Sablo, the examplar of "not socially adroit"."

Speaking to Thadston, Perigourd asks, "In a fight, or in which manner?"

Thadston says, "So thanks to the offers, unless it's changed, I know some of them will receive ongoing training from the Landing militia and the Gryphons."

Thadston says, "Unless I am mistaken."

Bakarus asks, "Which half?"

Thadston says, "If you have to ask.."

Thadston smirks at Bakarus.

Nairena asks, "Cant Sablo train them?"

Bakarus grins wryly.

Thadston says, "He will too."

Speaking to Nairena, Goldstr exclaims, "Sablo Needs a bit a trainin!"

Lylia says, "It might be preferable if their training came at the hands of many rather than one instructor."

Thadston says, "We are allies, after all. Just a reminder."

Kelfyr says, "There are lessons they'll need to learn that Sablo may not be prepared to teach."

Thadston says, "I will lop off Haidan's head and the Wraith's head in the same swing if needed."

Lylia says, "I hear death-squads are a popular topic."

Kayse wryly asks, "The lopping off heads platform?"

Kelfyr says, "Might be tricky to fit that on a button..."

Speaking to Thadston, Thrassus asks, "Speaking of, has there been any headway on the investigation about those mithril weapons?"

Nairena says, "Vote for me or off with your head."

Evia says, "Dead villian heads make wonderful new stone defense wall decor."

Thadston says, "The weapon supplier came forward. I'll be addressing that soon."

Goldstr says, "Goods to hear."

Speaking to Evia, Kiyna says, "We have a long way to go to beat the Ember Vale at that. They've got a whole lake of bones outside their walls."

Thadston says, "Wherever those walls are."

Berkana says, "Ember Vale... sounds like something an Eorginian would like..."

Vaemyr says, "Thadston hoping that perhaps, we can work with the cartographer in the camp, and figure that out, we all got to see a lot of the landmarks around when we visited."

Thadston nods at Vaemyr.

Thadston says, "Make sense."

Speaking to Berkana, Missoni murmurs, "It is not nearly ostentatious enough."

[General] Diablic asks, "Is there a hunting party out yet?"

Lylia says, "It was a sty, only for goats instead of pigs."

Berkana says, "I'll stick wth my lovely temple beyond the flamed arch."

Goldstr says, "Da Vale we will put down! Dey be a rogue cult a da friendly Rievers."

Thadston says, "We'll also be scheduling the trial soon for Bodohal."

Speaking to Berkana, Missoni says, "I think that is wise."

Thadston says, "And I do not intend to send him south to face justice. Unlike Stephos, he'll face justice here."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia asks, "Do we have information as to where it will be held at yet?"

Nairena quietly asks, "You all caught him?"

Thadston says, "Speaking of that."

Thadston nods at Nairena.

Chandrellia says, "Question answered."

Thadston says, "Does anyone know of a Captain Amsesh Rosk?"

Evia says, "Noope."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia asks, "No never heard of him why?"

Missoni says, "The name is unfamiliar."

Speaking to Thadston, Perigourd asks, "Captain of what?"

Goldstr says, "Nae heard dat name."

Chandrellia says, "Please tell me hes not in league with Bodohal."

Xorus says, "It sounds like Gutstorm trying to pronounce Amos."

Thadston says, "Captain of the Midnight Opal."

Thadston shrugs.

Perigourd says, "It does not ring a bell."

Missoni asks, "Is that a sailing vessel?"

Kayse asks, "Should we?"

Speaking to Missoni, Chandrellia says, "I would say yes."

Speaking to Missoni, Evia says, "Sounds like a fancy call girl."

Thadston says, "Bodohal? No I don't think so."

Kiyna muses, "It's a pretty name for a vessel, but I've not heard of her."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia asks, "Should we be on the look out for such a person of interest?"

Speaking to Thadston, Perigourd asks, "What does this captain relate to?"

Goldstr asks, "In da Shiver fleet?"

Speaking to Thadston, Lylia says, "Elidal is aware, I presume, that Bodohal will face trial for his crimes here and will not later face them to the south as well."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "Elidal gave him over to us for exactly that reason."

Thadston says, "There was some krol activity far south in Idolone's waters, a few ships hit and burnt in the middle of the night."

Speaking to Thadston, Falvicar asks, "Prithee, what is this Midnight Opal and where are they from?"

Thadston says, "I keep eyes and ears on Idolone, given I let one of their prisoners escape me once before."

Tikba neutrally says, "I am sure the Imperial Navy can handle such. I have heard they have devoted some very powerful ships to Glaoveln."

Thadston says, "We've been sent missive with a few questions, that's all. I didn't recognize the name."

Kayse asks, "Nothing to be concerned about then?"

Thadston says, "Although, maybe Black Hand might be able to find out more? They did have a ship bringing supplies to Idolone, late after midnight of last Leyan."

Thadston nods at Kayse.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Shuld such a person of interest wander into our docks I am sure you will be well notified."

Faerinn asks, "They're looking for someone again? An escapee?"

Thadston says, "But, I won't begin to understand your connections, as I question a few of them already."

Speaking to Thadston, Kayse says, "Ah, yes we did in fact."

Speaking to Berkana, Nairena says, "That is Amethyst."

Berkana says, "Appropriate name."

Speaking playfully to Thadston, Kayse asks, "Oh, Mayor, are you and Amos still fighting?"

Thadston says, "I trust the ship made it safe there and back, despite the krol activity."

Speaking to Berkana, Nairena says, "I almost swatted her to death. But shes got the best colors ever so shes a keeper."

Speaking evenly to Thadston, Kayse says, "Given from the reports I received the delivery was uneventful and everyone went as planned."

Kayse corrects, "Everything."

Thadston smirks.

The Casiphia Request

Thadston says, "I also have a request."

Speaking casually to Thadston, Kayse says, "I can ask the crew if they saw anything."

Kayse shrugs her shoulders indifferently, lifting her wings slightly.

Thadston says, "It may be unpopular."

Kiyna says, "Oh dear."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Thats half the requests in Landing."

Thadston nods at Kayse.

Lylia says, "I am aware of how concerned with popularity you are."

Nairena says, "This should be good."

Thadston begins chuckling at Lylia!

Nairena asks, "Setting up a Save the Desk fund?"

Thadston says, "Casiphia's injuries have gotten worse, since Remnants chased her in the streets."

Thrassus asks, "Poison?"

Thadston says, "I still...."

Tikba mildly says, "How unfortunate."

Thadston says, "Well, I still want her helped."

Kiyna says, "We suspected as much, but she wouldn't let the empaths near."

Thadston says, "It is unfortunate."

Thadston nods at Tikba.

Goldstr says, "I nae knew she had injuries."

Kelfyr asks, "What is it she requires?"

Vaemyr says, "Little we can do to help, she's as stubborn as you are about being examined..."

Thadston says, "Well, that's just it."

Speaking to Goldstr, Faerinn says, "I thought they were just inside her skull."

Thadston says, "If I need to...arrange for some kind of examination she couldn't deny so to speak...or escape from.."

Thadston says, "I'll need your help with her."

Stormyrain bluntly asks, "What?"

Faerinn says, "This is getting grosser by the minute."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "I now you want her helped, but forcing her against her wil to seek that which she doesnt wonthelp her."

Leafiara says, "A move like that is liable to spark a street war."

Evia says, "Golly."

Speaking to Thadston, Perigourd says, "That doesn't sound very gentlemanly."

Thadston says, "A street war? So just another feastday night."

Tikba amusedly says, "If you wished for Casiphia Malatina to be detained, your error was much earlier than tonight."

Speaking to Thadston, Kelfyr asks, "There's an empathic ethic that rather tramples on, doesn't it?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Bakarus says, "I was going to point that out as well."

Speaking wryly to Thadston, Leafiara says, "Well, there is that, sure."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Thats not the way to approach this."

Speaking to Thadston, Dendum inquires, ""You wish help...treating against her will...leader of underground group of people who like to shoot arrows and stab things?"

Thadston asks, "And what is Chandrellia?"

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr exclaims, "As much as I also love Casi, Lot a folks wish Mother Gone!"

Lylia says, "Abducting her and conducting experiments and examinations has some potentially troubling aspects about it."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "With decorum, a gentle touch."

Thadston says, "She's still Casiphia."

Thadston nods at Dendum.

Faerinn asks, "Is she though?"

Leafiara suggests, "Maybe I can try to reason with her instead of this other route. She's always at least outwardly expressed gratitude to me for getting rid of Rysus."

Leafiara shrugs.

Blinking once and affecting a dumbfounded expression, Dendum gazes blankly at Thadston.

Kayse offhandedly says, "At least the Rooks aren't supplying weapons to a now enemy of the town."

Thadston says, "Yes, she is."

Chandrellia says, "If she refuses who are we to force her into something she doesnt want. It would be like trying to force something upon you."

Thadston nods at Faerinn.

Raelee neutrally asks, "... what is the difference between abduction and capture?"

Speaking to Raelee, Stormyrain says, "He is not asking for her capture."

Speaking to Raelee, Kelfyr says, "Presumed guilt of the target."

Speaking to Raelee, Kiyna says, "A bunch of letters."

Thadston says, "I think the argument could be made that if you're doing something to save someone's life that they cannot seem to accept and do for themselves..."

Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain asks, "Unless you are?"

Thadston says, "Look, I knew it wasn't popular."

Speaking to Thadston, Missoni asks, "Has she said why she does not wish to be examined?"

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr exclaims, "I would do wha I kin to save Casi!"

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna admits, "I am hearing a great argument for why we should strap you down right here and fix your arms, though."

Leafiara says, "How did you learn of the situation? If she came to you, that would suggest she's seeking help actively. But if her tavern workers came to you or other Rooks or something else, well... might be a different story."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "I will aid as much as Casiphia will allow me to, but I can not force her to take treatment if she out right refuses."

Thadston says, "I am trying to save her life. Not mate with her."

Perigourd says, "Even if she won't be examined."

Lylia briskly says, "So, if you are concerned for her health, perhaps let a woman speak to her about it."

Tikba mildly says, "If Mother wishes to die, it seems right to allow her to."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "I will do this, I will send a letter and deliver it to Shanty Town, I am sure that someone there will get it her. I will seek her approval for aid in rendering her poison ineffective and getting her fixed up."

Thadston says, "I learned of her condition from others. But I've seen it for myself now, and spoken to her. She wants no distractions she said. She didn't expand on that much."

Leafiara ponders.

Leafiara nods understandingly at Thadston.

Lylia says, "And I do advise against anything forced upon her. It will slam shut all doors to reasoning with her."

Tikba says, "To attempt to debate her on the topic is as disrespectful as shackles would be."

Kelfyr says, "Death is the ultimate distraction."

Lylia says, "It is hardly a debate to express the fullness of the situation and proceed from there."

Thadston asks, "If she refuses help, then we let her die?"

Goldstr says, "I'd rather Casi be well."

Speaking to Thadston, Nairena says, "All you can do is ask her if she wants help. Keep asking and showing her why she should get it. Other than that, it is her choice."

Thadston asks, "Is that your solution?"

Speaking mildly to Thadston, Tikba asks, "Was this an unexpected meeting with Casiphia, or a planned one?"

Thadston says, "It doesn't matter."

Leafiara says, "I'm pretty sure she'll listen to at least someone here, surely, if we just leave an open notice at the Rusty Cutlass."

Thadston asks, "And if she doesn't?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Leafiara.

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna says, "If that's her choice..."

Thadston says, "We have been so very sure of a great many things, until we weren't."

Speaking to Thadston, Leafiara says, "Then we address it when it's a reality and not a hypothetical."

Thadston shrugs at Thrassus.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "I will send her a letter and do what I can to convince her to seek aid, either thru the local healer or our trained healers that work hard in TSC. I can not force her to accept that aid Thadston."

Thrassus shrugs.

Leafiara says, "I do understnad what you're saying about nothing being certain."

Nairena says, "We just need to show her that life is worth living."

Speaking to Thadston, Lylia says, "There have been times you have turned away aid."

Thadston says, "...and maybe I learned some things from that."

Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain says, "We can no more force her hand here, than we could with you and the Bleakwalker. You had to decide you wished that help, or lose everything. She may have to make that same decision. But it is her decision to make. Not yours."

Lylia acknowledges, "Yes, it is a lesson. And it is one I hope she learns as well. It is a difficult one; I deplore needing help myself."

Thadston asks, "If Kelfyr were snared by blood spiders, webbed and dragged off into a great den and you and only you remained to risk your life to try to save him, but he yelled and pleaded and told you to not bother, that it might be too dangerous, would you honor his wishes and stay your hand, mind his command, and walk away?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Stormyrain.

Thadston exclaims, "I am not dressing her like a doll! Or pulling strings to make her dance!"

Speaking to Thadston, Perigourd says, "She has to want to live for her own reasons."

Thadston says, "I am trying to make her see beyond her own selfishness and save her life."

Perigourd says, "If you don't address that, forcing health on her won't do anything."

Speaking to Thadston, Lylia says, "It is less about control than about closing all avenues to contact with her if you fail. And she may still die."

Falvicar whispers something to Chandrellia.

Ithilwyn softly exclaims, "She is someone with free will. Take that away and she becomes nothing but a doll!"

Speaking to Thadston, Nairena says, "You have to show her a reason to keep on living."

Lylia says, "It is not the ideal way to accomplish what you wish to accomplish."

Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain hisses, "And those you love, you let decide their path. Just as I let Blades. Sometimes, it means you lose them."

Thadston says, "Well, let's hope you don't wind up in a spider den again."

Thadston nods at Kelfyr.

Stormyrain clenches her jaw.

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr exclaims, "Remember yer Honor, Oaths, an yer lover fer Casi! Let her choose!"

Vaemyr whispers something to Thadston.

Speaking to Thadston, Kelfyr says, "I make my choices."

Kiyna interjects, "People are starting to get heated. Let's calm down, everyone."

Thadston applauds Kelfyr.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Please, let me speak on your behalf to her, send her that letter. Allow her a chance to consider how much she is thought of. Allow her a chance to think about it."

Thadston says, "I closed a Koar damn portal for you."

Thadston says, "...and you won't save her."

Thadston shakes his head.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "That is not what I said or anyone here said."

Speaking to Thadston, Lylia asks, "Who said she would not be saved?"

Thadston asks, "Would you leave a fallen soldier bleeding on the field if he told you to turn and flee?"

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Then we look for a different appraoch. One that will not make her feel like she being forced into something."

Leafiara says, "I do in fact leave corpses lying if they tell me to leave them."

Speaking simply to Thadston, Tikba agrees, "Yes."

Thadston asks, "Or do you throw your brother over your shoulder and bring him back to his family if you can?"

Nairena says, "That depends."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Exactly that, if you can."

Kiyna echoes, "If you can."

Stormyrain offers, "Does he want this family? Or would he rather die than be with them?"

Nairena says, "Heated battle. Need to move."

Falvicar whispers something to Chandrellia.

Stormyrain glances sharply at Thadston.

Nairena says, "Soldier stays."

Goldstr exclaims, "No One left Behind!"

Speaking measuredly to Thadston, Kayse says, "You are letting your personal feelings get in the way of this logical decision. People here have said they will reach out. We will worry about whatifs if she declines and move from there."

Lylia says, "There are times you override someone's wishes, in the heat of the moment on the battlefield. And there are times you cannot. Not out of morality but because it simply does not work."

Thadston says, "Next time it happens, I'll be sure to ask."

Thadston nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Have some faith in us, those that hear your words, allow us a chance to do whats right, have trust in us."

Leafiara says, "During the krolvin battles last year, I was concerned that they might target me or other councilors and told Marshal Stormyrain that I didn't want a militia command issued to come save me if I got taken since I preferred the priority remain on protecting civilians. People have their choices to make."

Thadston says, "...and then die myself, or watch him bleed out trying to muster an answer."

Stormyrain whispers something to Thadston.

Thadston says, "Such a crippling approach..."

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Let me explain this."

Tikba mildly asks, "Why do you need any of us?"

Tikba says, "If you wish her detained, why not detain her yourself? Surely your strong right arm will suffice."

Tikba says, "You need merely arrange another meeting."

Lylia says, "You could take her yourself, but I would hope you do not."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "The day Amos stabbed her, it was my hands that healed her so she wouldnt bleed out. I would do so again in a heartbeat."

Evia asks, "Surely she must have one or two close and trusted friends that would speak with her in a kind and caring manner?"

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "And if I can ever do anything that would help her I would. however, if she refused my aid thatd ay, I would have donenothing as is was her chooice."

Lylia says, "I do understand your frustration. It vexes me every time I see people make foolish choices." She gives Thadston a searching look. "Or lose themselves to drink."

Speaking mildly to Evia, Tikba asks, "Does she seem approachable?"

Speaking to Tikba, Evia says, "I do not know her in any personal way, I would not know to judge that."

Thadston clenches his jaw.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "So again I urge you to let me send a letter, and mayhaps even meet with her in person to express my concerns, as a healer, mayhaps coming from a healer she will at least take it into consideration."

Lylia quietly says, "I wish I ruled other people so thoroughly that I could demand that they do what is best for themselves, force what is necessary if need be."

Lylia says, "But that is not so."

Lylia says, "It is not true politically. It is not true personally."

Thadston says, "I think I get it now."

Speaking to Evia, Goldstr exclaims, "I has seen Casi work fer us many a time, She do need savin at ANY cost!"

Faerinn says, "Here we go..."

Speaking to Lylia, Nairena says, "I would be more worried about her if we helped her when she refused, but was helped anyway."

Ithilwyn softly asks, "Is it worth healing her to only break her spirit if not by her own choice?"

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna suggests, "Let me try a different approach. What's wrong with her? I mean, physically. What were her symptoms? We may be able to recognize the problem and develop a solution that's ready to go."

Evia says, "We are not solving much here it seems, other than to declare the general desire to restore her health."

Speaking to Ithilwyn, Faerinn asks, "Is that even healing?"

Thadston says, "When I threw that portal closed...cutting off the bleakblot in the sky and saving all of your asses, I forgot to ask if you wanted to be saved. I should have thought about your little feelings more. Maybe next time I get thrown into another valence with the Ithzir, you stop and ask me first before you risk yourself to save me. Because, you didn't have my permission. Rude."

'Thadston says, "Forget I mentioned it. I thought things were different between all of us."

Speaking to Thadston, Kelfyr says, "There's a difference and you know it."

Speaking bluntly to Thadston, Kayse asks, "Does she know you still love her?"

Speaking wryly to Kayse, Tikba says, "It must come up, during their meetings."

Speaking to Thadston, Nairena says, "That is different. You had a whole town to worry about."

Thadston grabs not one, but two chairs, hurls them double-fisted out of a window and marches out of sight.

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I think also there may be a compromise? A blood sample or such perhaps, that wouldn't detain Casiphia, or hinder her from doing whatever she is doing."

Goldstr says, "Er."

Lylia says, "Women really, really do not like forced examinations. I doubt men do either, but we are...more aware of the implications."

Vaemyr says, "But not like she'd ever listen or even speak to me... so I leave that up to those of you with reasonable relations..."

Speaking to Tikba, Faerinn asks, "The Witch hunters who tortured my mother to death for hedgemagic also said it was for her own good. Where the Blameless not claiming to be saving all their captives as well?"

Vaemyr says, "If anyone thinks that trying to do everything you can for someone you care about is wrong, well, I'm sorry that you've never experienced that before in your lives... must be a very sad existence. But those feelings make us do some pretty crazy things."

Speaking to Tikba, Chandrellia says, "I am not trying ot make excuses, but we all react differently to different things. I'mnot saying what he said was right or that we should run out and do exactly as he says. I'm saying I understand where he is comming from."

Vaemyr asks, "I think the important thing here, is to try to make it not come to that point?"

Lylia says, "There is a significant failure in his points of comparison. All of his were heat-of-the-moment circumstances, not considered decisions."

Vaemyr says, "I think Chandrellia and Leafi are excellent canidates for trying to reach out."

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "I should think he could bring her healing draughts if the wound is typical to those we often receive in battle."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Faerinn asks, "Is that really like Thadston to wait when he can be impulsive and violent?"

Leafiara says, "Before he stormed off, I was going to suggest to Thadston that offering aid is more likely to work if Casiphia can choose whose help she's getting."

Something crawls around under Kiyna's skin.

Kiyna repeats, "Excuse me."

Speaking to Kiyna, Chandrellia asks, "Its getting worse isnt it?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "It hasn't much changed."

Chandrellia says, "Not sure if thats good or bad."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Speaking of that I have a report for you and Enisius, it'll be in the mail in a bit."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "If they're anything like Raznel's scarabs, it could be weeks yet."

Chandrellia says, "If you all will excuse me."

Leafiara adds, "As I told Kiyna the other night too."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee asks, "On what topic?"

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "The scarabs."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "Very well. I shall watch for it."

Speaking carefully to Raelee, Tikba says, "I will have a document for you and Magister Enisius as well, on the events we discussed."

Tikba says, "Please forgive its tardiness."

Speaking to Tikba, Raelee says, "Of course."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "When he asked for one from Missoni and Drazaa, Kiyna also agreed to let me keep a watch from an outside perspective... thought perhaps it could add some contrast at least."

Speaking appreciatively to a bent-tailed wolf, Leafiara says, "Good job, River."

Kiyna says, "I might be able to pass a message to Casiphia, but I feel Chandrellia is better positioned to do so."

[Leafi was already on her way out the door when she said that and Chandy had already left, so ending it there. Several hours later, Leafi, Chandy, and Kelfyr write a joint letter and attempt to have it delivered to Casi.]
