PC Races

At character creation, player characters may select any of the thirteen playable races:

For the effects of a character's race, see the list of race modifiers.

Cultures

Once a race has been selected, a character may optionally choose a culture, which indicates the shared background of various population groups. Some cultures are specific to the selected race, while others may be available to multiple races due to a common history.

If no culture was chosen at character creation, a character may at any time set it in game.

NPC Races

There are many other races that inhabit Elanthia. While player characters may not choose any of these as their background, they can appear as NPCs.
