Short Synopsis

Early, an announcement arrives that the year's mayoral candidates for Wehnimer's Landing are Alendrial, Amos, and Thadston. Later in the evening, Emissary Samfelt explains how he ended up with the Rooks, then later with the Barony of Darkstone. He begins to ask questions of the people discovered in Mother's Den, but Mayor Thadston says to save that for the trial. A man named Jeshiah Pattin soon emerges from the crowd, introducing himself that he's grown from the urchin boy Acorn into now a barrister extending an offer to represent the Brotherhood of Rooks at the trial if it wishes. Additionally, he'll be bringing "lots and lots" of charges against Mayor Thadston. Samfelt agrees this seems fair and didn't support Thadston's means of handling the situation.

After Thadston and Jeshiah have left for the evening, Candidate Alendrial is passing through Moot Hall and takes the time to field questions before bed. Expressing that someone with good sense needed to run while Amos and Thadston are "too busy roaring and trying to out piss one another" when "we've real problems to solve," she conveys that she'll need to take positions that create value in the freedom of Wehnimer's Landing to make it more beneficial at the Empire's side than behind it in chains. Rather than waiting for Elidal to write our laws and draw our lines, we can do that ourselves and demonstrate that partnership is more beneficial than subjugation. She says a hand must be strong enough to hold a pen and a sword, but only use one. Regardless of the outcome, she hopes everyone will vote for Wehnimer's.

Long Synopsis

Early in the evening, a town clerk announces that the year's mayoral candidates for Wehnimer's Landing are Alendrial, Amos, and Thadston.

Later in the evening, town guards carry crates and bags away from the Rusty Cutlass and into Moot Hall while Emissary Samfelt drops by for a meeting with Mayor Thadston to speak about recent events.

Before Thadston arrives, they head inside to get away from the rain, but Gutstorm says the rain will wash away Samfelt's sins of betraying his friends; Samfelt says he's not sure what he did wrong. Tikba asks if he's here on behalf of Elidal; he tells her Elidal knows he's there and is aware of what has happened. Missoni asks if he's truly from Vornavis; he shakes his head at her and says he's from Tamzyrr. Gutstorm questions how we can trust anything from Samfelt and Perigourd says lots of people have been saying things that turn otherwise.

As Thadston arrives, Alosaka asks how we plan to move forward as a town from two councilors (Kayse and Kiyna) preparing for trial, Casiphia on the run, and the Ember Vale reivers and Remnants still on the loose. Alosaka questions if it's necessary to argue with each other while we're at it. Thadston says none of the threats change and he knows the enemies have been killed by as many Rook arrows as militia ones, but it doesn't mean we can't fight enemies and root out criminals at the same time.

Thadston thanks Samfelt and tells him he did well, saying he knows it wasn't his plan originally and he got caught up in the wrong crowd. Kayse says the wrong crowd saved him and Kelfyr says Samfelt has a knack for finding the wrong crowd, but Thadston says there's more wrong crowd than right these days and even Marshals have their eyes glazed a bit. Marshal Stormyrain says otherwise.

Samfelt says it was Lord Elidal's choice to involve Thadston and he wasn't working against anyone with the intent to cause them harm. He asks the Rooks if they were presented with a plan of attack to kill settlers. Kayse says she said in the meeting that they were not to kill anyone; Samfelt says whether that was presented to them even if they didn't want to. Leafiara says there was no plan; the maps displayed the routes and then it was an open question what to do, if even anything. Thadston tells Samfelt he has no reason to ask questions since this isn't their trial. Samfelt at first says that's fair, but then says they don't understand why he did what he did.

He says Tolmis was never his real name; the Rooks found him and he didn't know if he could trust them, so he kept using it while working with them. When Bodohal came looking for Tolmis, Samfelt needed a way to shed that name and hide. Once he saw an opportunity to join the new barony, he decided to use his real name again. The Rooks believed he was going to spy on the settlers for them, and at first he did work with them and supply information to the Rooks. However, after surviving the winter and Gnul, then working with others in the Landing to protect the Barony of Darkstone, he realized they needed help with their walls and food. After Elidal trusted in him to be a Herald for his new Barony, he had a title and purpose he'd never had before. He became aware that Mother planned to attack a group of settlers and told Elidal. He wished that when she called the Rooks, they wouldn't go; then, when they did go, he wished they'd leave the ranks when her intentions were clear. However, he needed to know their hearts, so he didn't warn them.

Thadston tells Samfelt he did the right thing. After Tikba asks if Elidal helped, Thadston says Elidal lended soldiers in case things got ugly, but instead it was only Wolfloner, and "Cosima would be rolling in her grave." Tikba says he couldn't trust the people of the Landing to enforce the Empire's law. Kiyna says Ordlyn will eat this up; Thadston says he doesn't care and Ordlyn will twist anything.

Samfelt says he's not sorry for what he did, but is sorry they were mixed up in it all. Councilor Vaemyr asks if they'll be tried by the barony or the Landing, assuming he's allowed to ask questions. Thadston asks him if he's being smart, then says by the Landing; they could have been tried in the Empire if Elidal wanted to play that hand, but Rooks are the Landing's problem first and last. Kayse says others aren't allowed to speak, so she doesn't blame Vaemyr for asking. Thadston asks who's not allowed to speak and if someone gagged someone and he's just blind as a Marshal and a Gryphon (referring to Sir Guarrin, not present). Kayse says only if the Rook's name is Casiphia. Chandrellia tells Thadston this is why he loses trust with the people and he says those are bold words from the Rook councilor (former councilor).

Thadston says the Rooks will have their time to explain themselves, be questioned, and face evidence and witnesses, then they'll see justice done however it may go. Casiphia will also be taken into custody when she's found, then her health ensured, then justice. Nairena says she doesn't think he'll end the Rooks, who live in the shadows; he says not all of them do anymore; she says good luck and she remains neutral; he says neutral is a myth; she says she has Rook friends and non-Rook friends. Thadston says he'll make time to see the trial through during the campaign season because he doesn't trust "the cub" (Amos) or "original Mother" (Alendrial) to do the job correctly.

Vaemyr seeks clarification on who will presenting the case against the Rooks at the trial and Thadston says him if he must... and then a young man with a freckled face and a wooden acorn amulet steps forward. He's Jeshiah Pattin, a barrister of Wehnimer's Landing--and some may remember him by his old nickname, the urchin boy Acorn! He'll be representing the Rooks in the trial. Kayse asks him if he's practiced law; he says we're all practicing.

Kiyna says maybe she can hire him to prosecute Thadston on seven charges of murder; Jeshiah says he's offering representation to any Rooks on trial who seek it (or they can represent themselves) and, yes, he'll also be bringing charges against Mayor Thadston. Thadston asks on what ground; Jeshiah says lots and lots. Thadston calls him a nut, pun not intended. Goldstr asks Jeshiah he's a Rook; he says a barrister now with an office. Magister Raelee asks him where he was educated; he says the streets, the shadows, some tomes, and asks her if she's heard of Barkskin Academy in Nydds. She says yes, so he says that one. She then mouths "no" to Alosaka. Thadston says this is madness and tells Jeshiah not to let his milk get too warm before bed; he'll announce the trials soon and good night.

After he leaves, Jeshiah reiterates that he'll represent anyone who wishes it--and if they don't, nothing personal. Falvicar asks if he needs a bodyguard; Jeshiah asks what his record is. Kayse asks what his (Jeshiah's) record is and he says clean and he's never lost a case. She asks if he's been in court before; he says he's been in court a lot, then realizes she means as a barrister. He says no one has to decide tonight and sometimes the wheels of justice are slow. He's hand out business cards, but the Black Thorns used half the town's parchments, so he's still working on them. Kayse offers that they could make him some and he says sure, but don't expect a discount. Most of all, though, the Mayor has to answer for his crimes too. Samfelt agrees that bringing charges against the Mayor seems appropriate for his harsh punishment of people who were not guilty of anything yet. Jeshiah says they don't call him Flattin' Pattin for nothing--and Satin Pattin because he's so smooth.

Perigourd says guilt isn't dictated by a court and many courts release the guilty; Kiyna asks why bother with rule of law, then; he says that she swore to uphold the law but is part of an organization that ignores it, unless she denies being a member of the Rooks, and says it seems little law rules in the Landing; Samfelt says laws are not to rule by, but to guide those who rule.

Chandy asks if charges will be pressed against Samfelt for false accusations against town councilors if a positive outcome emerges from this trial; Jeshiah says he can't get into those details and will save it for court. He has a thousand books to read and wishes everyone good night. After he leaves, Samfelt adds that he also didn't agree with how Thadston handled the situation after he gave him information, but it wasn't his place to tell the mayor how to do things in his own town.

Afterward, Candidate Alendrial is passing through Moot Hall to find tea before bed and is surprised to see everyone there as if there was a meeting. Leafi congratulates her on candidacy and Alendrial thanks her, saying "someone with a good measure of sense needed to run." Gutstorm welcomes her as the new mayor and she says not without their votes. She could pen two scrolls of things she admires about Amos and Thadston, but they're "too busy roaring and trying to out piss one another" when "we've real problems to solve."

Alosaka asks if she'd be interested in sharing her position on important matters facing the Landing, like the new barony. She describes it as inevitable and says the momoent to stop the Empire's growth was two years ago, which is why it was done far away and in secrecy. (Seemingly referring to Elidal and Earl Jovery having been planning the logistics for two years in advance.) Gutstorm asks if she thinks it's too late to cut the head off the snake; Alendrial says words and blood won't stop it and could only exacerbate it, and language like that does no good. The Empire isn't a snake; it's large and bright and you can hear it coming before you see it coming. However, the world doesn't need to be them or us. The best way to win is take positions that create value in Wehnimer's Landing's freedom to make it more beneficial at the Empire's side than behind it in chains. Tikba says her stance is similar to Amos' view; Alendrial says hers it different and Amos will make it sound like they're the same, but Amos would sell their freedom if it profited him. Kelfyr recommends that after the new Landing Envoys are selected, maybe they can help the new Mayor stay informed about Icemule's nation of the north forming under its Mayor Talliver.

Alendrial says the Landing is far more important of an ally to the Barony of Darkstone, with our resources, heroes, and history--and we won't wait for Elidal to write our laws and draw our lines, but instead do that ourselves. However, we must be fair and show Elidal that partnering with us is more beneficial than subjugating us. Kelfyr asks if her position is that we do hold a pen; she says not a pen alone, as a hand must be equally strong to hold a pen and a sword, but only use one. Kialeigh says she does seem of a smoother disposition than the other candidates; Alendrial says Thadston is a good man on most days and means right, but he's seen trials most people could not imagine or survive. However, she agrees with Kialeigh that a Mayor needs a smooth surface, not jagged edges.

Vaemyr asks how Stephos is doing; Alendrial says he's in Idolone facing justice one day; Vaemyr says he guesses the trial's been delayed a while and wonders if they'll remember what he's being tried for. Alendrial says justice is slow, but Imperial memories are long--she knows, as she's been hunted by them and fled Idolone by ship on her wedding night. She knows the dark spots of the Empire, but also the bright ones. She hopes everyone will vote for Wehnimer's, then wishes them a good night.

Mayoral Election Announcement

[Town Square, East]

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see the Petat disk, the Coins disk, a red-eyed highland serval, a town clerk, the driftwood Nalver disk, the Kialeigh disk, a black imperial wagon with a glowing blue-white pylon on it, the Moot Hall and a large purple wooden barrel.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Town Councilor Kayse, Brother-in-arms Oxhammer, Lord Petat, Starmizt, Coins, Nalver, Kialeigh

Speaking to a town clerk, Starmizt says, "Hurry i dont have log."

Starmizt says, "Long."

Oxhammer says, "No..no you don't have log."

Starmizt says, "I must go get an old friend."

The town clerk clears his throat.

The town clerk says, "Oh, good, we've got a variety of people here."

The town clerk says, "From all walks of...life."

Leafiara amusedly says, "That's one way of putting it."

The town clerk says, "I mean, I'm not wrong." He chuckles.

Leafiara cheerfully agrees, "Indeed!"

Kayse slowly says, "I suppose not."

The town clerk says, "There are three candidates for Mayor this year, one being a late entry just last night before the deadline. This year's campaign will be Thadston, Amos, and Alendrial."

The town clerk says, "That is all. Goodbye." The town clerk walks off.

Discussion Afterward

Leafiara pleasedly says, "Oh, a candidate I can get behind."

Leafiara cheers, "Alendrial! Alendrial!"

Kialeigh says, "Lovely..."

Starmizt says, "I don't know any of those names."

Starmizt says, "I will have to seek out who they are."

Leafiara says, "Alendrial's been our Steward of the Coffers for years. She works behind the scenes."

Speaking to Starmizt, Kayse says, "Thadston is our current Mayor."

Starmizt says, "Ah."

Petat says, "What."

Leafiara says, "Thadston's also an egomaniac who hanged seven people a couple nights ago on mere suspicions."

Leafiara says, "Myself and Kayse included."

Leafiara says, "...and somehow I still hate Amos even more. Not much more, but still."

Leafiara yells, "I support Alendrial for mayor!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Nalver asks, "What were you suspected of doing?"

Starmizt says, "Alright excuse me like i said a moment ago i didnt have long or i said then log."

Speaking to Nalver, Leafiara says, "Plotting with the Rooks to attack caravans."

From nearby, you hear Nalbon yell, "Who the hell is that?"

Nalver yells, "Shut up!"

Leafiara yells, "She's been keeping finances straight in the Landing for over five years now!"

From nearby, you hear Nalbon yell, "I know you werent talking to me Nalver!"

Kelfyr says, "Already gearing up to be an interesting couple of weeks."

Nalver says, "There was a lot less dying than I was expecting."

Kelfyr says, "Night's young."

Samfelt Speaks

[five and a half hours later...]

[Town Square Central] This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Gutstorm disk, the Xerathyon disk, the Stormyrain disk, the Kelfyr disk, a grizzled porcupine, the Spharai disk, the Jyszull disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, the Emperia disk, a yellow-eyed silvery lor mandrake sprouting niveous peonies, a lazy wild deep red dog, the web-draped Missoni disk, the Phereclese disk, the drake-incised Draelor disk, a massive grey wolf, the violet Taravangian disk, the Kialeigh disk, the Brulgamin disk, a large acorn, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the Ehlron disk, the Korpacz disk, a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it and an old well.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Rahadin, Grand Lord Arahnim, Faiyth, Lord Xerathyon, Stormyrain, Kelfyr, Town Councilor Kiyna who is kneeling, Perigourd, Spharai, Jyszull, Emperia, Missoni, Magister Raelee, Phereclese, Draelor, Azyel, Glugor, High Lord Taravangian, Kialeigh, Sandur who is sitting, Brulgamin, Irval who is sitting, Cypheir, Ehlron, Korpacz who is sitting

[General] Samfelt asks, "Hello. How goes the evening?"

Emperia sighs.

Speaking curiously to Emperia, Leafiara asks, "Anything wrong?"

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "..quietly, until the storm blew in."

[General] Jehance thinks, "Going well on my end."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Worse now that I can hear your thoughts."

[General] Missoni asks, "Well. And yourself, Emissary?"

A dozen town guards can be seen emerging from the plank bridge of the Rusty Cutlass, carrying off some wooden crates and bags.

Speaking to Leafiara, Emperia says, "Samfelt is around..."

Missoni whispers aloud, "Is he still the Emissary?"

Leafiara understandingly says, "Ah, Samfelt. He'd probably rather not see me."

Speaking to Missoni, Stormyrain mutters, "I have no idea."

Kelfyr says, "If so, I'd really question Elidal's judgment."

Leafiara asks, "Why wouldn't be the Emissary?" [OOC note: Leafi hadn't returned to the Cutlass when Samfelt discussed having been a prisoner in Tamzyrr, so she's unaware of what Kelfyr is about to follow up with.]

Leafiara asks, "Didn't he execute exactly what was asked of him?"

The voice of Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Leafi, need a sign fer Samfelt?"

Kelfyr says, "That or he's an incredibly strong believer in prison reform."

Leafiara amusedly says, "Nah, Guts."

The town guards carry the crates from the Rusty Cutlass and disappear into Moot Hall.

Kelfyr says, "I hope they left the open bar."

Leafiara ponders, "They've sure been at the Cutlass a long time."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "Why da guardsh shtealin shtuff?"

Faiyth exclaims, "So that's where the cookies went!"

Kiyna says, "Samfelt - Tolmis, rather, had a different story for us when he first met us. Before he even know who we were."

Emperia says, "I assume they are confiscating everything from the backroom..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I mean I believe Elidal has known that Samfelt was Tolmis since at least we captured Bodohal, and possible before then."

Faiyth says, "I knew there were cookies before."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Wouldn't surprise me, given the mental wards on the settlers."

[General] Samfelt asks, "I am meeting with Mayor Thadston soon to speak about recent events. He is usually in your Moot Hall, correct?"

Irval says, "Probably looking for further evidence for the trial."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "Usually. Until he's not."

[General] Missoni asks, "He is. Do you require a guide?"

Missoni whispers aloud, "He probably does not require a guide."

[General] Irval thinks, "He is Samfelt, until he makes his own exit. Sometimes through the window."

[General] Kialeigh thinks, "Sure. You can enter through any of the entrances.. the broken windows, the secret ones.. see you there."

Leafiara ruefully says, "No Pukk nor Cryheart, so I can't even fill in for Pukk."

Alosaka hopefully says, "Perhaps he'll be calmer tonight."

The voice of Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Join yooshelf, Leafi."

Leafiara muses, "Ah well, we carry on."

Leafiara declares, "To Moot Hall!"

You also see a black imperial wagon with a glowing blue-white pylon on it, the Moot Hall and a large purple wooden barrel.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Town Councilor Kiyna, Azyel, Ranlar

Leafiara says, "Well, nobody yet."

Emissary Samfelt just arrived.

Samfelt nods.

>l sam

You see Emissary Samfelt Cobbleman the Herald of Darkstone.

He appears to be a Human.

He is average height. He appears to be an adult. He has tired pale blue eyes and ruddy skin. He has cropped, glossy black hair shaved at the temples. He has a weathered face, a freckled nose and a small mustache.

He is in good shape.

He is holding an ornate castle-crested shield in his left hand.

He is wearing an amber teardrop talisman, an iron-studded shoulder guard made of articulated leather scales, a dark leather pack, some etched vultite studded leather, a silver-buckled black leather belt cinched tightly at the waist, a dark leather scabbard, some faded ebon pants with leather stitching down the sides, some veil iron leg greaves, and some side-laced dark leather boots.

Samfelt deeply says, "Hello there."

[General] Lynaera muses, "And people often ask Me why I cannot take such a town seriously."

Speaking to Samfelt, Missoni says, "Emissary."

Samfelt deeply says, "We should step inside, out of the rain."

Samfelt glances up.

Emissary Samfelt just entered the Moot Hall.

Kialeigh says, "Last time we did that we ended up in Mother's Den..."

[Moot Hall, Great Lobby]

The great lobby is quite spacious, with an oak bannister wrapping around a staircase leading to the second story of Moot Hall. The walls are draped in rich tapestries framing niches that hold marble busts of local dignitaries. To the north is a double door, and to the west, a mahogany door bearing a silver plaque. A carpeted pathway leads toward the Debt Collector's Office. You also see the Kialeigh disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, a faltering wasteland spirit that is flying around, the Xerathyon disk, the Emperia disk, a wayward glacier spirit that is flying around, a large wooden chest, a large wooden chest, a veil iron shield-shaped plaque, a staircase, a blackboard and an old stained table with an iron bucket on it.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Kialeigh, Irval, Tikba, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Emperia, Lord Xerathyon, Astrilyn, Emissary Samfelt

The voice of Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Da rain will wash away yoo shinsh, Samfelt."

Samfelt deeply asks, "My what?"

Vaemyr says, "We can goto the council chambers to wait if you wish."

The voice of Gutstorm sadly slurs, "Yoo betray yoo friendsh, dat not ice."

Kialeigh says, "Your sins."

Kialeigh says, "Or shins..."

Kialeigh says, "One or the other."

Speaking to Kialeigh, Nairena says, "Sins are overrated."

Samfelt deeply says, "I'm not sure what I've done wrong, exactly. Perhaps there is some confusion about what happened exactly."

Samfelt shrugs.

Leafiara agrees, "Of that it's certain."

Irval says, "You've done nothing wrong, The people who are speaking against you are just angry they got ousted as Rooks."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wot did happint den?"

Faiyth asks, "Are ye the one who stole all the cookies?"

Samfelt agrees with Leafiara.

Irval says, "Or Rook collaborators."

Tikba politely asks, "Are you here on behalf of Elidal?"

Samfelt deeply says, "Lord Elidal knows I am here."

Samfelt nods at Tikba.

Tikba grins wryly at Samfelt.

Samfelt deeply says, "He is very aware of what has happened."

Tikba amusedly says, "Carefully put."

Speaking curiously to Samfelt, Missoni asks, "Are you truly from Vornavis?"

Samfelt looks over at Missoni and shakes his head.

Tikba says, "Elidal knows many of us are here."

Tikba says, "After all, we live here."

Vaemyr says, "I imagine there wouldn't of been imperial soldiers about the other night without someone's cooperation."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "Tamzyrr, if his words the other night were correct."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "How kin we ever trusht anythin him say?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni says, "Ah. He had said Vornavis, some months ago."

Samfelt deeply says, "I am from Tamzyrr."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "Indeed he did."

Perigourd says, "But lots of people have been saying things that turn otherwise."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Nairena asks, "Elidal?"

Mayor Thadston just marched stiffly down a staircase.

Missoni murmurs, "I did think you were rather vague about it."

Mayor Thadston just marched out.

Mayor Thadston just arrived.

Thadston says, "Oh..."

Samfelt slings an ornate castle-crested shield over his shoulder.

Thadston says, "Inside? Weird. But okay."

Speaking to Thadston, Bellaja says, "Surprise."

Speaking reluctantly to Samfelt, Alosaka says, "Gutstorm makes a point... trust, once lost, is difficult to regain."

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "We thought we'd actually avoid the rain for once."

Goldstr says, "Evenin Mayor Andrews."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Well we didnt want ye jumpin out da window, Thadston."

Thadston says, "Oh good, no one tried to stab you yet."

Kialeigh says, "We're in from the rain..."

Thadston asks, "Or did they?"

Speaking helpfully to Thadston, Tikba explains, "It is raining."

Thadston peers quizzically at Samfelt.

Kialeigh says, "But not the kind that leads us somewhere secret.. so far."

Kayse lightly says, "Only in my mind."

Thadston says, "Rain is good. It's supposed to wash away the dirt."

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "Lets be honest, they probably did..."

Thadston says, "Guess we just need more rain."

Nairena says, "And blood."

Kialeigh says, "And blood..."

Speaking to Thadston, Perigourd says, "Explains the consistency."

Samfelt deeply says, "I seem to be in good health, so far."

Tikba mildly says, "I find it merely leads to mud."

Thadston glances between Kialeigh and Nairena.

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna says, "You'll need a lot more rain yourself."

Thadston says, "Aren't you two cute."

Nairena says, "Shes cute."

Nairena says, "Im just a plain girl."

Thadston says, "I'm sorry, did you say something? I know Common and Faendryl, not Rookerish."

Thadston peers quizzically at Kiyna.

Leafiara asks, "Casi never taught you that one?"

Thadston smirks.

Thadston says, "Touche."

Leafiara grins.

Thadston nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara winks.

Speaking to Thadston, Irval says, "Corruption ran deep, but not deeper than I suspected unfortunately."

Speaking quietly to Falvicar, Nairena says, "Hello, dear brother."

Thadston says, "I mean, you suspect everyone and everything, so..."

Thadston nods at Irval.

Thadston shrugs.

Faiyth says, "That kinda talk'll get an arrow in yer eye most likely."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Thadston, Alosaka asks, "How do we plan to move forward as a town from this?"

Speaking quietly to Falvicar, Nairena asks, "I sensed your death on the ice earlier. Is everything okay?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "When ye paranoid, life lot eashier, right Irval?"

Speaking to Thadston, Irval says, "Thus is the nature of finding the truth. And being a good investigator."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Thadston says, "That's a good question."

Thadston nods at Alosaka.

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "Well his first plan was to have us all hanged without trial. Now that he's done committing murder, let's find out."

Kayse laughs, "Investigator...right."

Thadston says, "If everyone's guilty, no one's guilty Irval."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Alosaka asks, "We have two councilors preparing for trial. Casiphia still on the run. The Ember Vale Reivers and Remnants still loose. Is it necessary for us to argue with each other while we're at it?"

Thadston says, "I would call this mild in comparison."

Thadston nods at Alosaka.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Speaking wryly to Kiyna, Tikba says, "You must be careful with the word murder. Alosaka feels strongly about it."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hangin witout a trial ish murder."

Thadston says, "None of those threats change. I'm not stupid. The enemy has been killed by as many Rook arrows as they have militia ones."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Thadston says, "But it doesn't mean we can't fight our enemies and root out criminals all the same."

Thadston says, "Especially those who seek to sway and guide this town."

Alosaka nods slowly.

Thadston says, "Samfelt, you did well. Thank you."

Faiyth says, "Lotsa murder going around lately..."

Alosaka asks, "Have we... asked those councilors why they were at the meeting with Casiphia?"

Thadston says, "I know it wasn't your plan originally. You got caught up in the wrong crowd."

Speaking quietly in Sylvankind to Falvicar, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Kayse says, "The 'wrong crowd' saved him."

Thadston laughs at Alosaka!

Speaking to Alosaka, Tayler says, "I believe their necks got lengthened before they had a chance to speak."

Kelfyr says, "Seems he has a knack for finding the wrong crowd."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Kelfyr, Kiyna says, "Interesting, that, isn't it."

Thadston says, "There's more wrong crowd than right these days."

Speaking to Tayler, Leafiara agrees, "That did happen. Of course, Amos is still worse, but hey, better yet, Alendrial is running."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kayse says, "No one has bothered speaking to me about my involvement."

Thadston says, "I mean, even Marshals have their eyes glazed a bit it seems."

Thadston asks, "No?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Stormyrain.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Stormyrain raises her eyebrow, the bloodjewel half-ring set within only enhancing her skeptical expression.

Faiyth says, "If yer on the shrinking side... maybe that makes yer the wrong crowd."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Speaking deeply in Guildspeak to Thadston, Samfelt says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Leafiara, Kayse says, "Amos being worse is YOUR opinion."

Stormyrain says, "My eyes were not glazed."

Thadston stands in front of the door and looks at Stormyrain. "Before you storm off."

Samfelt clears his throat.

Speaking deeply to Thadston, Samfelt says, "I think they should know the truth. It was Lord Elidal's choice to involve you."

Leafiara agrees, "It is."

Stormyrain squints at Thadston.

Speaking to Kayse, Alosaka says, "It is your story to tell, of course, but I am interested in what your or Kiyna have to say."

Thadston nods at Samfelt.

Speaking to Samfelt, Kiyna says, "Oh, the truth. From you? That's rich."

Thadston says, "There's nothing wrong with the truth."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Irval asks, "Manipulated then?"

Thadston mutters lessyourarook.

Samfelt nods at Kiyna.

Falvicar mutters murderer.

Thadston laughs at Falvicar!

Tikba mildly inquires, "What was the alternative to involving the mayor of Wehnimer's Landing?"

Falvicar folds his arms over his chest.

Thadston says, "Just because you happen to be swimming in a Rook pond this year, don't begin to judge me Falvicar."

Thadston nods at Samfelt.

Thadston says, "You're free to speak Samfelt."

Samfelt nods.

Thadston says, "They can know. There's nothing to hide of the arrangement."

Speaking to Thadston, Falvicar says, "No... that'll be Koar's job for your unjust illegal hanging without proper trial."

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna says, "As are we all."

Samfelt deeply says, "Some of you should know what happened. I don't want anyone to think I was working against them with the intent to cause them harm."

Thadston nods at Irval.

Faiyth asks, "If he hung em wif knowledge... well wouldn't that put it on all da lil camp people too?"

Thadston smirks at Falvicar.

Tayler says, "Starting to feel a little Vaalorian in here."

Kelfyr says, "Why in the world would they believe that."

Thadston says, "You may be wasting your breath Samfelt, but go ahead."

Thadston says, "You owe no apology to criminals and conspirators."

Samfelt deeply says, "Because everything I did was to help people I learned to care about."

Tikba says, "And surely any who disagree must be one."

Tayler asks, "How many of the towns tenets did you break by hanging them without trial? Wouldn't that make you the biggest criminal here?"

Stormyrain whispers something to Thadston.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Irval dont count Samfelt, who else ye tried to help."

Samfelt deeply asks, "I ask any of the Rooks who were caught, were you presented with a plan of attack? A plan to kill settlers?"

Kialeigh says, "Irval always counts."

Speaking firmly to Samfelt, Kayse says, "I repeatedly in that meeting said we were not to kill anyone."

Samfelt deeply asks, "Even if you didn't want to, was that presented to you?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Kayse says, "As I have been saying for months."

Thadston whispers something to Stormyrain.

Leafiara says, "There was no plan. The maps were to display the routes and then it was an open question what to do, if even anything indeed." [OOC note: Debatable whether this should be bolded. The question was directed at people who were seen in the Den, so I've opted to include it in the synopsis. However, unlike with Kayse, Samfelt didn't react to Leafi, so according to protocol it shouldn't be bolded.]

Irval says, "Pretty sure the Rooks to whom you serve with didnt catch that part."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dem mapsh got treasure onnem?"

Stormyrain raises her chin slightly in a show of defiance.

Speaking to Samfelt, Kayse says, "Before you all entered--Casiphia did ask if anyone had a problem hurting anyone."

Thadston says, "Look, you have no reason to ask questions. This isn't their trial."

Thadston nods at Samfelt.

Samfelt deeply says, "That is fair."

Tikba mildly asks, "Is he no longer free to speak?"

Irval asks, "So he's suppose to say yes and blow his cover?"

Kayse sarcastically says, "Yes, Aeia forbid we talk about what happened."

Thadston rolls his eyes at Tikba.

Speaking frustratedly to Thadston, Kayse says, "Perhaps you should just hang us all again."

Thadston asks, "Did I fricken say that?"

Samfelt deeply says, "But they don't understand why I did what I did."

Samfelt looks over at Thadston and shakes his head.

Samfelt sighs.

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "You seem to of been told something, or such, might as well just tell us all."

Thadston says, "There's a time and a place for things Tikba."

Tikba fairly emanates polite civility by way of her courteous, tempered expression.

Thadston says, "If the Rooks want to defend themselves, it's called a damn trial."

Thadston says, "Which will happen soon enough."

Speaking to Samfelt, Kayse hisses, "Perhaps you should have trusted there were Rooks within the ranks who wouldn't let that happen."

Leafiara says, "As I recall, only one person expressed no problem with hurting anyone. Only one person fully rejected the idea, which was Kayse, as she said. I was musing over alternative possibilities."

Samfelt nods at Thadston.

Leafiara says, "Again, assuming I remember correctly. That was, uh... quite a night."

Samfelt deeply says, "Tolmis was never my real name. The Rooks found me, and I didn't know if I could trust them, so I kept using it while I worked with them. When Bodohal came looking for Tolmis, I knew I needed to figure out a way to hide myself and shed that name quickly."

Speaking quietly to Falvicar, Nairena says, "So the Rook's are bad now? I have seen them save the landing on multiple occassions."

Irval says, "Trust a shadowy crime syndicate who uses fear and intimidation. Sure he should trust you..."

Leafiara says, "Others were considering alternatives as well."

Irval says, "Please."

Speaking flatly to Irval, Kayse says, "Shut up."

Samfelt deeply says, "Once I saw an opportunity to join the new Barony, I decided to use my real name again. However, the Rooks believed I was going to spy on the settlers for them. And, at first, I was working with them and did give them information. I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing."

Speaking to Kayse, Irval says, "Make me Rook."

Tikba slowly asks, "How did Bodohal know the name Tolmis?"

Speaking to Thadston, Falvicar asks, "So when is your hanging for being with a "Rook" as you would have the charge be? Are you going on trial too?"

Speaking drunkenly to Samfelt, Gutstorm slurs, "Shelf prettervation...."

Thadston says, "Quiet kids, or to your corners."

Samfelt deeply says, "That changed after surviving the winter, surviving Gnul, and working with many of you to protect Darkstone. They needed help, and they had enough problems without the Rooks adding more."

Kayse adds, "Yet the Rooks were there fighting Gnul. Leading the plan on Bodohal...."

Samfelt deeply says, "I went a different path from the Rooks, after I realized the people of Darkstone really needed help. They needed someone to help them build their walls and keep the cold out. Their children needed food, so I hunted with them. I became one of them, and eventually Lord Elidal confided his trust in me to be a Herald for his new Barony."

Kiyna says, "He's left that part out."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Him need ta knowed him choice hap conquenchesh, Thadston."

Thadston says, "All things that will be heard and considered in your trial and sentencing."

Thadston nods at Kayse.

Samfelt deeply says, "I had something I've never had before. A title... a purpose. I didn't need to hide anymore."

Thadston smirks at Stormyrain.

Kayse waves her hand in a dismissive gesture.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Samfelt deeply says, "I made that choice already by the time I learned Mother, whatever her real name is, was planning to attack a group of settlers making their way here. I was forced to make a choice, and it wasn't a hard one for me to make."

Miss Chandrellia just arrived.

Thadston says, "Casiphia. Her name is Casiphia."

Samfelt nods at Thadston.

Leafiara says, "Ah, here's someone else who had been weighing alternatives."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Samfelt, Chandrellia says something you don't understand.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Samfelt deeply says, "That is when I told Lord Elidal, and Mayor Thadston became involved."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says, "Tyrant."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says, "He's no "king"."

Samfelt deeply says, "When the Rooks were called by her, I wished that they would not go this one time. When they did go, I wished that they would have left their masks behind when her intentions were clear. Things were moving more quickly than I had expected. I needed to know their hearts, so I did not warn them."

Thadston says, "You did the right thing Samfelt."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Tikba mildly asks, "I see. Elidal told Thadston. And did he perhaps lend a hand as well?"

Speaking in Sylvankind, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Alosaka says, "I would be deeply interested in hearing Kayse or Kiyna's perspectives as well."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Samfelt, Chandrellia says, "Frankly it doesnt matter any more does it, the damage has been done, we protected you and helped you and this was the thanks we get in return."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kayse says, "Apparently that is for the trial."

Samfelt deeply says, "I suppose we will, during the trial."

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "No, we get the noose. Samfelt gets to explain."

Samfelt glances at Thadston.

Speaking in Sylvankind, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Speaking in Sylvankind to Nairena, Falvicar says something you don't understand.

Bellaja whispers something to Missoni.

Thadston says, "Elidal lended some of his soldiers."

Thadston says, "In case things got ugly."

Samfelt nods in agreement.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "How thoughtful."

Perigourd says, "Some of which were killed."

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna says, "You realize how that looks, right? Ordlyn is going to eat this up."

Samfelt frowns.

Thadston says, "But really, it was just Wolfloner. Not surprised. Cosima would be rolling in her grave."

Tikba mildly says, "After all, you could not trust the people of the Landing to enforce the Empire's law."

Kelfyr asks, "So ugly the town's own militia could not handle it?"

Thadston says, "I really don't care Kiyna. We took precaution, and required a level of force. Ordlyn will twist anything."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Chandrellia says, "Well, you know one nig giant bed as Thadston said last night."

Thadston says, "We'll bury him soon enough."

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna says, "It's become only too clear that you don't care. I hope everyone else sees that too."

Speaking offhandedly to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Two nights ago, but sure."

Kiyna glares at Thadston.

Thadston says, "I think the soldiers and militia represented the joint effort well enough, given Elidal brought it to me."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Oh yes, I have slept snce then."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wut if Thadston ish Ordlyn and dish him powder play to take control of thing and weaken our resholve. Me mean we netter sheen em both at da shame time, amirght?"

Samfelt deeply says, "I'm not sorry for what I did. I am sorry that you were mixed up in it all."

Speaking to Samfelt, Chandrellia says, "Yeah sorry you were too."

Questions and Challenges

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr asks, "Question... if I'm allowed to ask questions. Are they being tried by the new Barony or here in the Landing?"

Thadston says, "Here."

Thadston asks, "And why aren't you allowed to ask questions?"

Thadston asks, "You being smart?"

Kelfyr asks, "By whom?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja asks, "Why would the Barony have power over town events?"

Kayse dryly says, "Well, some of us aren't allowed to speak now, I do not blame him for asking."

Tayler says, "By which judge - that was voted in, I mean, not that was illegal appointed."

Irval says, "Why would the be tried by the new Barony? Their crimes are against the people of landing and thus they should face landing justice."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia asks, "Under what crimes are being tried for?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We gotta joodge?"

Your rook-etched ruby just sold for 8,250 silvers from the vanilla-hued shop. After tax you made 8,003 silvers!

Thadston says, "I mean, they could have been tried in the Empire, if Elidal wanted to play that hand. But Rooks are our problem first, and our problem last."

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna says, "Perhaps he feels nervous around a murderer on the loose."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Tayler asks, "Renpaw?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Amos kilt Renpaw."

Tikba mildly says, "Yes, I saw an interesting document on the way into Moot Hall on the topic of trials."

Speaking in Sylvankind, Nairena says something you don't understand.

Tayler says, "I never saw a body."

Your rook-etched ruby just sold for 8,250 silvers from the vanilla-hued shop. After tax you made 8,003 silvers!

Thadston asks, "Who is not allowed to speak?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Kayse.

Your rook-etched ruby just sold for 8,250 silvers from the vanilla-hued shop. After tax you made 8,003 silvers!

Your rook-etched ruby just sold for 8,250 silvers from the vanilla-hued shop. After tax you made 8,003 silvers!

Tikba says, "Apparently, it is Landing law that we should have them before the punishments."

Your rook-etched ruby just sold for 8,250 silvers from the vanilla-hued shop. After tax you made 8,003 silvers!

Speaking to Thadston, Bellaja asks, "And yet half of the council is comprised of them?"

Your rook-etched ruby just sold for 8,250 silvers from the vanilla-hued shop. After tax you made 8,003 silvers!

Thadston asks, "Did someone gag someone? Am I as blind as a Marshal and Gryphon?"

Speaking drunkenly to Tayler, Gutstorm slurs, "Me handed off Renpaw hand to da lasht town counshel."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Tayler says, "No body no crime, or so we say, in the desert."

Speaking to Thadston, Alosaka says, "Questions about the application of justice are not unwarranted in this case, as complicated as it has been... and, if I may be frank, you are not a disinterested party in this."

Stormyrain settles her gaze on Thadston, watching him intently.

Speaking to Thadston, Kayse says, "Only if their name is Casiphia."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "See this is why you lose trust with the people."

Kayse narrows her eyes.

Kelfyr says, "Unless we've set law aside for expediency's sake."

Thadston says, "From the Rook councilor. Bold words."

Thadston nods at Chandrellia.

Goldstr peers quizzically at Thadston.

Speaking helpfully to Thadston, Tikba corrects, "A Rook ex-councilor."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Stormy didnt know, how could she, it's a secret group, well was."

Speaking to Thadston, Kayse says, "Defending myself a few moments ago wasn't allowed--I will wait for this 'trial' then."

Thadston says, "Ask her."

Thadston nods at Chandrellia.

Goldstr asks, "Sir Ye call me blind?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Kayse says, "She knew about me. I told her."

Stormyrain says, "I knew about Kayse."

Thadston says, "Not you Goldstr. Not you."

[General] Ouidanna asks, "What did you do Orgamor!?"

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "She knew of one, give her some slack Thadston, she does her damndest for this town and your lil bickering at her doesnt help."

Thadston asks, "She's not on trial, is she?"

Thadston says, "Didn't think so."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Yet."

Faiyth asks, "Yet?"

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Not by law standards only your own."'

Speaking to Chandrellia, Kiyna says, "Thadston doesn't give slack. There wasn't any in the ropes around our necks."

Thadston says, "Not yet."

Guennwhfar says, "Aha."

Leafiara says, "To be fair, I think it's safe to say people should have known about Pukk too at least for the past few days--"

Leafiara notes, "...okay, other people seem to be getting way more worked up about this than I am. Got it."

Kialeigh says, "Yeah Pukk was no surprise."

Thadston says, "The Rooks will face trial, you'll have your time to explain yourself, be questioned, face evidence and witnesses, and we'll see justice done. However it may go."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna asks, "Yes, I have a problem when our Mayor is a murderer. I stand accused of what, exactly, more important than that?"

Vaemyr says, "And fro those asking why the Barony might try them, the attack being planned was a crime against them, not against the Landing. Which is why I was wondered where they were being tried."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara says, "We'll find out soon."

Kelfyr asks, "When will the Judicial election take place to conduct this trial?"

Speaking to Kiyna, Stormyrain mouths, "Really?"

Kayse whispers something to Stormyrain.

Thadston says, "Casiphia can't run loose forever. We'll take her into custody when we find her, which we will."

Thadston says, "We'll ensure her health, which is the first priority, and then justice."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "Oh by the way."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Bellaja says, "Sadly that's not who was attacked, though."

Speaking politely to Vaemyr, Tikba says, "If I remember the terms correctly, that question is not up to Elidal, nor Thadston."

Speaking curiously to Thadston, Missoni asks, "What is to be done about the Remnants during this process?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me nominate meshelf fer Joodge ferda trial, me kin be biashed."

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "She did agree to let us help her, till you barged in."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Tikba says, "It is up to the Northern Sentinel where criminals shall be tried."

Samfelt deeply says, "I hope the attack doesn't still happen. This Casiphia is still out there, potentially working with someone else now."

Speaking to Thadston, Tayler asks, "Need to make sure she's nice and healthy to hang her, yes? As you did the rest of them?"

Thadston says, "We kill the Remnants when we can, and we work to root out Ordlyn and the Wraith."

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "I'm not."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Technically yes, but he would most likely listen to either of them."

Thadston rolls his eyes at Tayler.

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Just like he listend to allow Bodohal tried here."

Nairena says, "I don't think you will end the Rooks. They live in the shadows."

Thadston says, "Not all of them anymore."

Thadston nods at Nairena.

Tikba wryly says, "If we are to be ruled by a letter, then let us be ruled by the letter. We will try our people in the Landing. If the Earl wishes otherwise, he may make his views known."

Faiyth says, "Honestly ye prolly just drove em further under ground, they'll be more secret now."

Tikba says, "The document does not say we must guess what he might say."

Speaking to Thadston, Nairena says, "Good luck with that. I remain neutral."

Faiyth says, "Shoulda held it closer. Caught em in the act. Conspiracy isn't action.. just they "mighta" done something."

Speaking to Tikba, Alosaka says, "It is up to us to actually hire a judge, I believe."

Thadston says, "Neutral is a myth."

Thadston nods at Nairena.

Nairena says, "I have rook friends and non rook friends."

Kelfyr says, "Not hire, elect."

Speaking to Faiyth, Leafiara says, "Well, the Landing is... unpredictable at a minimum. Never know, might see protests soon enough for all we know."

Speaking drunkenly to Faiyth, Gutstorm slurs, "Now day, ye guilty fer even thinkin ofda crime."

Thadston says, "I'll be announcing the dates for the trial within a few days."

Tikba says, "Yes, the document was very educational."

Kelfyr says, "If this remains a town of laws and not one run by fiat."

Thadston says, "I will make time during the campaign season."

Goldstr exclaims, "Aye we needs a new Real Judge!"

Thadston says, "I'd like to see this through, however that turns out."

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr asks, "Curious, who will be prosecuting them, you?"

Faiyth says, "I thought of raiding the town with my kobold breathen.. we aint done it yet.. but.. better lock me up."

Thadston says, "I don't trust the cub or original mother to do it correctly."

Faiyth says, "Action is action.. finking about it and talking about it is just fought.."

Irval says, "'I wonder if Earl Jovery would stand judge."

Thadston says, "Wehnimer's Landing."

Thadston nods at Vaemyr.

Speaking to Irval, Kelfyr says, "That's not the law."

Thadston says, "Manard is our current judge for now."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Thats not how it works."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Who him?"

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr says, "I meant, whom would be presenting the case against them at the trial I guess."

Thadston says, "Me if I need to."

Goldstr says, "Amos's man."

Kelfyr says, "The only legally elected judge has been missing for more than two months."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Irval says, "You don't get to tell anyone how it works now, Former Rook Councilor."

Speaking to Thadston, Vaemyr asks, "Perhaps Thrayzar would be a good choice?"

Representation Arrives

Someone in the crowd says, ..."Speaking of representation..."

Kelfyr says, "We are a town of laws, Mayor."

Samfelt deeply says, "I will be discussing the document I found on Bodohal's ship with Lord Elidal as well. In the meantime, would you mind keeping that pirate locked up a bit..."

Samfelt glances about with a look of concern on his face.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ordlyn now yoo chance."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Nairena says, "Apparently not for much longer."

Tayler asks, "Is Ordlyn going to run for Mayor next?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Kayse asks, "Why are you so afraid of him? What else aren't you telling us?"

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Perhaps you should read up on the way it works before you assume you know how it works, I was in that seat, I know, how it works."

Stepping out of the crowd, comes a short, very young man, really still much a boy, with pale blue eyes and a freckled face. The feather in his cap is almost gaudy, and a wooden acorn amulet dangles from his neck.

Samfelt deeply asks, "Afraid?"

Leafiara says, "Better hope it's not him since he'll--"

Leafiara says, "Oh."

Thadston peers quizzically at Jeshiah.

>l jes

You see Jeshiah Pattin the Barrister of Wehnimer's Landing.

He appears to be a Human.

He is shorter than average. He appears to be very young. He has bright pale blue eyes and rosy skin. He has cropped, lank amber hair shaved at the temples. He has a freckled face, a beak-like nose and stooped shoulders. He has a few tiny faint scars next to both of his eyes.

He is in good shape.

He is wearing a feathered navy blue cap, a carved wooden acorn amulet, a reinforced black canvas backpack, a peascod-bellied doublet, a small slashed leather pouch, a leather sheath, some crisp black brocade breeches, and a pair of square-toed shoes.

Thadston asks, "Who are you?"

Jeshiah clears his throat.

Jeshiah says, "Allow me to introduce myself...or really, re-introduce myself to some."

Leafiara admits, "Never seen ya."

Leafiara chuckles.

Speaking to Leafiara, Nairena says, "Plot twist."

Jeshiah says, "On the contrary."

Speaking knowingly to Nairena, Leafiara says, "It's the Landing."

Speaking to Leafiara, Tayler says, "Looks like an accountant."

Tayler says, "Wonder if he does taxes."

Jeshiah says, "I am Jeshiaj Pattin, a registered citizen and barrister of Wehnimer's Landing."

Jeshiah says, "Some of you may remember me as, well..."

Speaking dryly to Jeshiah, Raelee says, "You have grown from your days spying on my laboratory."

Jeshiah says, "Acorn."

Alosaka wryly says, "Glad to finally meet you."

Jeshiah blinks at Raelee.

Jeshiah says, "You remember me."

Speaking to Leafiara, Guennwhfar says, "The Landing could learn from the Dhe'nar; kill them all and let the Arkati sort them out."

Speaking slowly to Jeshiah, Kayse asks, "Barrister?"

Jeshiah beams happily at Raelee!

Jeshiah clears his throat.

Leafiara murmurs, "Two sentences in and this'll already end well."

Chandrellia asks, "Acorn?"

Jeshiah says, "Ahem."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Raelee says, "... I do."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Kayse observes, "You have grown."

Jeshiah says, "I will be representing the Brotherhood of Rooks in your trial, sir Mayor."

Thadston blinks.

Jeshiah says, "I can't stay a kid forever."

Jeshiah winks at Kayse.

Jeshiah says, "Bones grow, balls drop."

Jeshiah shrugs.

Thadston squints.

Kayse hesitantly asks, "Have you...practiced....law?"

Irval asks, "And who might you be representing Aco...Jeshiah?"

Speaking amiably to Jeshiah, Leafiara says, "Huh, well... good to see you doing well, then."

Chandrellia asks, "Did you see the bed Pukk made for you in his office when he was councilor?" [OOC note: This was Fahlo, not Pukk... heh.]

Jeshiah says, "We're all practicing."

Jeshiah nods at Kayse.

Kayse glances at Jeshiah and slowly exhales.

Guennwhfar asks, "Jesh what if you dont have balls?"

Faiyth says, "Ah... doesn't seem fair."

Tikba whispers something to Kayse.

Thadston asks, "You're the little twerp they pulled out of the shadow pit?"

Speaking dubiously to Kayse, Alosaka says, "I'm certain you could consult with anyone you like, in addition to the young master here..."

Jeshiah says, "Yes."

Kayse whispers something to Tikba.

Thadston says, "...and your eyeballs."

Samfelt glances between Thadston and Jeshiah.

Speaking to Thadston, Chandrellia says, "His name is Acor, eeerr Jeshiah."

Jeshiah says, "All working again."

Jeshiah says, "Few scars. But the ladies like them."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Bellaja says, "It is good to know these people will be fairly represented."

Guennwhfar says, "Oh eye balls... my bad."

Bellaja says, "Having said that.."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Irval says, "Specially now that the bones have grown and balls have dropped I bet."

Thadston holds his sides and lets out a rumbling belly laugh.

Thadston says, "I see..."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Kiyna says, "Perhaps I can hire you to prosecute Thadston on seven charges of murder later."

Samfelt nods at Guennwhfar.

Thadston says, "Well, good luck kid."

Jeshiah says, "Well, funny question ma'am..."

Jeshiah nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Thadston, Bellaja says, "And in the meantime, will large fiscal decisions be tabled until the trial is over? No offense as the people named are all intelligent, respectable people who chose an avenue they felt was the best for themselves and hopefully the town, but if there is corruption in addition to other charges it should be rooted out."

Jeshiah says, "Not only am I offering representation to any Rooks on trial who seek it...of course, they can represent themselves, this isn't Ta'Vaalor..."

Jeshiah says, "But we will also be bringing charges against Mayor Thadston."

Samfelt takes a moment to observe a veil iron shield-shaped plaque.

Thadston laughs at Jeshiah!

Thadston asks, "On what ground?"

Jeshiah says, "So many grounds."

Kiyna says, "Look at him laugh. See how above this he thinks he is."

Speaking to yourself, Leafiara muses, "Well, this got double interesting."

Jeshiah says, "Lots and lots of grounds."

Kelfyr says, "I guess there is still law in this town, after all."

Speaking drunkenly to Jeshiah, Gutstorm inquires, "Kin me putchoo on container Jeshiah, fer future crimesh me will be reshted fer?"

Speaking to Thadston, Alosaka admits, "Potentially many."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Nairena says, "Easy with those words. Vaalor is very fair."

Samfelt looks about with a puzzled expression on his face.

Speaking to Jeshiah, Bellaja says, "Whatever to get to the truth of it all."

Speaking to herself, Guennwhfar says, "Knew they should have made me mayor."

Jeshiah says, "I was just jesting."

Jeshiah nods at Nairena.

Jeshiah says, "Or, Jeshing."

Jeshiah snickers.

Nairena nods at Jeshiah.

Samfelt can offer Jeshiah only a blank expression.

Speaking to Jeshiah, Goldstr asks, "So ye really a Rook?"

Thadston says, "You're a nut, and the pun is not intended."

Thadston nods at Jeshiah.

Jeshiah asks, "I mean, anymore?"

Jeshiah shrugs.

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna says, "Don't be a coward. Intend your puns."

Jeshiah says, "Kind of a barrister now."

Speaking to Nairena, Tayler says, "I believe that term... fair... when speaking of the Vaalorians would differ greatly depending on who you asked."

Speaking to Thadston, Irval asks, "Too much time in the shadowpit musta seriously damage the brain?"

Speaking to Guennwhfar, Bellaja says, "At this rate the entire administrative branch should be broken to grow a new one."

Jeshiah says, "I even have an office."

Speaking to Thadston, Guennwhfar asks, "Of its not intended it's not really a pun, now is it?"

Speaking amiably to Jeshiah, Leafiara says, "Would love to see it some time."

Tikba mildly asks, "Will all who seek to aid the Rooks be themselves accused of being Rooks or conspirators?"

Thadston says, "Having an office, doesn't make you a barrister."

Jeshiah says, "Neither does it a mayor."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "I think we all will at some point."

Speaking carefully to Jeshiah, Raelee asks, "... where were you educated?"

Alosaka says, "If Mayor Thadston trusts the justice system enough to submit our councilors to it, surely he must trust the justice system enough to submit himself to it."

Speaking to Tayler, Nairena says, "They are not perfect. But compared to this town, corruption, greed and a lack of understanding runs rampant."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me shtole an offish outta da barracksh."

Jeshiah says, "A little bit here, and there, the streets, the shadows, some tomes."

Jeshiah says, "All on the up and up."

Jeshiah nods at Raelee.

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "My thoughts exactly."

Jeshiah says, "Maybe you've heard of um..."

Jeshiah glances at Raelee.

Speaking to Nairena, Guennwhfar says, "Nothing wrong with greed."

Jeshiah asks, "Barkskin Academy in Nydds?"

Jeshiah peers quizzically at Raelee.

Speaking to Jeshiah, Raelee says, "Yes."

Speaking to Guennwhfar, Nairena says, "Greed has its place."

Jeshiah asks, "Oh you have?"

Jeshiah says, "Sweet."

Bellaja repeats, "Nydds."

Jeshiah says, "Yeah that one."

Alosaka glances dubiously at Raelee.

Thadston says, "This is madness."

Speaking to Nairena, Tayler asks, "Not long ago they had a puppet king run by a lich, did they not?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Raelee mouths, "No."

Speaking to Thadston, Perigourd says, "Entirely."

Speaking to Thadston, Kelfyr asks, "NOW it's madness?"

Thadston asks, "Have you said all you wanted Samfelt?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Samfelt.

Speaking to Thadston, Kiyna asks, "It's only madness once we start judging YOUR crimes, hm?"

Speaking to Thadston, Alosaka says, "It didn't have to be this way, Mayor."

Samfelt nods at Thadston.

Bellaja says, "Interesting..."

Samfelt deeply says, "I have."

Falvicar whispers something to Chandrellia.

Speaking to Tayler, Nairena says, "I was there when we fought the lich and killed the King Slayer."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Chandrellia says, "Well, I thank you for stepping in to help us, if are in need of anything from me, please send a letter or I can most likely be found healing our citizens in TSC."

Bellaja says, "A barrister trained in the hub or the Hall."

Speaking to herself, Bellaja asks, "Why am I even shocked?"

Thadston says, "Good."

Jeshiah nods at Chandrellia.

Tikba mildly says, "You must forgive Thadston's confusion. Where he comes from, there are those who make the law, and those subject to it, and the two do not mix."

Speaking to Markx, Nairena says, "I was a recruit adept."

Thadston says, "Jeshiah, don't let your milk get too warm before bed."

Thadston says, "I'll announce the trials soon. Goodnight."

Speaking to Nairena, Markx says, "I don't know what that means."

Mayor Thadston just marched stiffly up a staircase.

Speaking drunkenly to Tikba, Gutstorm slurs, "Yoo feishty tnite."

Chandrellia yells, "Night Thadston!"

Jeshing Around

Leafiara says, "Surely this will go better for Thadston than his last tri--well, hearing."

Kiyna says, "Anyone needs me, at least for now, I'm still a councilor. I still have an office. For now. Anyone needs Thadston, his situation is the same."

Jeshiah says, "There's no chairs in jail Mayor.."

Speaking to Nairena, Guennwhfar says, "You were a recruit bimbo."

Jeshiah says, "Oh, he's so fast."

Jeshiah frowns.

Jeshiah nods at Falvicar.

Speaking to Jeshiah, Leafiara asks, "Slowing down in your not-so-old age?"

Leafiara chuckles.

Speaking to Guennwhfar, Nairena says, "Nope."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Bellaja says, "Probably off to break things."

Jeshiah starts chuckling at Leafiara.

Irval says, "Im actually shocked that you all are shocked that the Mayor had you hung , he made his stance known when he spoke of what would happen if someone was found to be an enemy of landing."

Leafiara grins.

Jeshiah says, "The rage makes him unnaturally fast."

Jeshiah nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara agrees with Jeshiah.

Irval says, "As it was with the supplying of arms to the Reivers."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Teh Rooks are not enemies you dolt."

Speaking to Goldstr, Evia says, "They're all just a ruse of course."

Speaking to Tikba, Alosaka says, "I don't mind if you question the Mayor's principles. That's well deserved by now."

Irval says, "The arrow I took to the face says otherwise."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna asks, "You're okay with justice being taken into the hands of... whoever, huh? Justice system be damned?"

Jeshiah says, "Well, I didn't die."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara reasons, "To be fair, that's determined by the trial, no?"

Jeshiah says, "That's a good start."

Speaking drunkenly to Irval, Gutstorm slurs, "Bad aim?"

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia asks, "Was it me that shot that arrow?"

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "So you're okay with being stoned in town square."

Vaemyr says, "I was going to say something about the fact, if he wants to convince the Rooks that justice can be applied to all without the need of shadows, then well... he better be ready to defend his own actions."

Jeshiah says, "Rooks...."

Speaking in Sylvankind to Jeshiah, Falvicar asks something you don't understand.

Chandrellia says, "Was it Leafi, or Kayse, ir Kiyna."

Irval says, "No but your organization shot me and killed me while I was healing people in the Thrak."

Speaking quietly to herself, Raelee mutters, "... Barkskin."

Jeshiah says, "I will represent you. If you um, don't want it, nothing personal."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Falvicar asks, "Do I need to offer myself as a bodyguard too?"

Leafiara nods understandingly at Jeshiah.

Chandrellia asks, "My orginization?"

Kayse nods understandingly at Jeshiah.

Kiyna nods appreciatively at Jeshiah.

Jeshiah asks, "It depends. How's your record?"

Jeshiah peers quizzically at Falvicar.

Jeshiah chuckles.

Speaking to Jeshiah, Kiyna says, "Thank you for stepping up. That's a brave thing to do."

Jeshiah says, "I'm good. I've learned a thing or two."

Alosaka says, "Well, perhaps that is something to clarify now."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Chandrellia says, "Hes good."

Speaking to Raelee, Bellaja asks, "Do you know anything of its reputation?"

Speaking to Jeshiah, Falvicar says, "I fight Vampires at Moonsedge."

Jeshiah nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Jeshiah, Kayse counters, "How is your record....?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Irval says, "The rook syndicate? How many head wounds have you healed? Might wanna touch up a bit."

Speaking to Perigourd, Evia says, "Same old bologna I see."

Speaking drunkenly to Kayse, Gutstorm slurs, "Him oh and oh."

Jeshiah says, "Clean and I haven't lost a single case."

Jeshiah nods at Kayse.

Speaking to Chandrellia, Goldstr exclaims, "Dem Rooks ave kilt our own folks AND used children to throw bombs and hide behind!"

Speaking to Jeshiah, Kayse whispers aloud, "You've been in court before, yes?"

Alosaka asks, "Kiyna, Kayse, Leafiara, others... are you Rooks?"

Speaking to Bellaja, Raelee says, "It does not exist."

Jeshiah says, "OH YES."

Speaking to Evia, Perigourd says, "If you mean the complete lack of ethics? I agree."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "More then you can find grains of sand on the beach."

Jeshiah says, "I've been in court a LOT."

Leafiara says, "I'm probably far too brash to do anything but represent myself, to be honest, but I'll at least consider the option."

Speaking to Raelee, Bellaja says, "Oh! I was going to say.. I was clueless about it."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ash a witnesh."

Falvicar says, "That's good to know."

Jeshiah asks, "OH, you mean as a barrister?"

Speaking to Raelee, Bellaja says, "But I know of Nydds."

Speaking to Perigourd, Evia says, "And double talk and double drivle."

Speaking to Irval, Thuldir says, "If they shot you then you must have done something. I've only known the rooks to help the town."

Kayse nods slowly at Jeshiah.

Jeshiah says, "Look, none of you have to decide tonight..."

Jeshiah says, "The wheels of justice are sometimes slow."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hey he gotta make him mark shumtime."

Jeshiah asks, "Am I right?"

Speaking to Bellaja, Raelee says, "Nydds is a a city very much worth spending time in."

Speaking to Thuldir, Chandrellia says, "He did, he insulted them very brashly."

Leafiara says, "Thadston will speed them up."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Kayse says, "I will send you a missive."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Thuldir says, "Makes sense then."

Speaking to Thuldir, Irval says, "I said that they should quit going for soft targets when their were griffins in the sky and illokes at the gates. But they shot gremlins..."

Jeshiah says, "I'm working on some business cards, or I'd hand them out. Black Thorns used up half the town's parchment supplies. Jerks."

Speaking to Leafiara, Falvicar says, "I'm just hopeful he wont appoint himself as the judge."

Speaking drunkenly to Jeshiah, Gutstorm slurs, "Delay delay delay, Thadston will be vote out offish shoon and dish all go way den."

Kayse offers, "We could make you some."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "Apprently they must have mistook you for a gremlin then."

Jeshiah says, "I mean, sure."

Alosaka says, "Perhaps something to clarify later."

Jeshiah says, "But don't expect a discount."

Thuldir whispers something to Chandrellia.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Leafi rich, she can afford yoo Jeshiah."

Speaking to Alosaka, Tikba says, "I, at least, am eager to hear what you have to say."

Speaking to Raelee, Bellaja says, "I know it is very important to those of Voln."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Vaemyr says, "That's not how crimes and trials work, they have no bearing on whom is the mayor, or at least shouldn't have any bearing."

Speaking to Tikba, Alosaka says, "It's hardly up to me to clarify."

Jeshiah says, "But most of all, the Mayor has to answer for his crimes too."

Tikba politely says, "Let us assume that they are Rooks."

Leafiara says, "Well, if they're determined to be crimes."

Speaking to Tikba, Kayse says, "Do not answer for me. I answered him."

Leafiara says, "That's what the trial is for, after all."

Speaking drunkenly to Vaemyr, Gutstorm slurs, "Ye realize if Leafi wush shtill da mayor we no be here right now dishcushin dish."

Speaking to Kayse, Alosaka says, "And I appreciate the answer."

Speaking deeply to Jeshiah, Samfelt asks, "You intend to bring charges against the Mayor?"

Jeshiah nods at Samfelt.

Jeshiah says, "Yep."

Samfelt nods.

Speaking to Jeshiah, Chandrellia asks, "May I request you of something?"

Jeshiah says, "I mean, for a fee, sure."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me like yoo Jeshiah."

Faiyth asks, "The empire too?"

Speaking to Jeshiah, Evia asks, "Oh, don't forget the sweet innocent rooks that set fires on the towns rooftops, endangering public safety. Okay?"

Samfelt deeply says, "That does seem appropriate, in my humble opinion. The punishment was rather harsh, considering they were not guilty of anything yet."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Vaemyr says, "If Leafi was the mayor, Thadston would of still found a way to do the exact same thing."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Goldstr exclaims, "Wha Ye be fom Amos? Money moner!"

Speaking to Jeshiah, Tayler asks, "How much would you charge to hold onto a weapon of questionable origins while I have sorcerors cast strange magics at it?"

Jeshiah says, "They don't call me Flattin' Pattin for nothing."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Probably accurate."

Jeshiah says, "The enemy stands no chance."

Samfelt glances at Irval.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me thot dey caltcha Acorn."

Jeshiah says, "Or was it Satin Pattin, because I'm so smooth."

Samfelt chuckles.

Perigourd says, "Guilt isn't dictated by a court, as many a court releases the guilty."

Jeshiah asks, "I'm working on both. Which one sounds better?"

Jeshiah asks, "I feel like, Flattin' Pattin for work? Satin Pattin for play?"

Speaking to Jeshiah, Bellaja says, "You just your shot at the last one by saying it aloud."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Kelfyr says, "I'm sure you'll earn a nickname after this is all over, one way or the other."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Falvicar asks, "What is your price if I may inquire?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Kiyna asks, "So why bother with the rule of law?"

Speaking mildly to Kiyna, Tikba says, "It seems an argument for not doing so."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Leafiara says, "Maybe two at the speed of the Landing."

Speaking to Kiyna, Perigourd asks, "You swore to uphold it, but are part of an organization that ignores it no? Or do you deny being a member of the Rooks?"

Jeshiah asks, "Did you ever make your request Chandrellia?"

Jeshiah says, "I feel like I was talking so much."

Perigourd says, "It seems little law actually rules here in the Landing."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Chandrellia says, "No you're fine, I was curious."

Speaking to Perigourd, Kiyna says, "Two things can be true at once."

Jeshiah asks, "Oh, you said you had a request?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Kelfyr says, "So far it's rather selectively followed, in my findings."

Samfelt deeply says, "Laws are not meant to rule by. They are meant to guide those who rule."

Samfelt nods at Perigourd.

Tikba mildly says, "We do not have a ruler, in the Landing."

Chandrellia asks, "When a positive outcome, comes from this trial, will charges be pressed against Samfelt for false accusations against Counilors of Landing?"

Jeshiah says, "Well, he's not a citizen."

Speaking to Kayse, Alosaka says, "The coffee is wonderful, still."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr asks, "What false charges?"

Tikba says, "We discussed this before, but I fear you found the idea confusing."

Jeshiah says, "...and I mean...I can't really get into those details."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "Whatever charges we are being accused of."

Speaking to Tikba, Bellaja says, "There really isn't even an acceptable ruling body at this poinnt."

Jeshiah says, "We'll save that for court."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "She's stipulating the hypothetical of a--"

Jeshiah says, "Now!"

Faiyth says, "He only told his troof and others acted on it."

Samfelt deeply says, "Yes. I am still trying to become familiar with how things are here in your town."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "Samfelt is not charging anyone, the Town of Wehnimer's Landing is. He did nothing that is even remotely close to a crime."

Speaking to Samfelt, Leafiara explains, "Bizarre and only ever getting more so."

Samfelt glances up.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "He went and said they we, those of the dear mayor had hung something for Thadston to do such a thing."

Speaking to Jeshiah, Goldstr exclaims, "Ye do be A Amos Barrister, maybem but NAE a Judge!"

Falvicar whispers something to Chandrellia.

Kialeigh says, "Agreed. Unless Tolmifelt laid hands on you or ordered yer murders he's kinda just da crywolfer."

Jeshiah exclaims, "I have a thousand books to read. Goodnight everyone! But just remember. In trouble? Just call Pattin! He'll make your woes go flat-in!"

Jeshiah waves.

Jeshiah just went out.

Samfelt deeply says, "Now that Thadston is gone, I will confide in you all that I did not agree with how he handled the situation once he had the information from myself and Lord Elidal. But he was elected your mayor, and it was not my place to tell him how to do things in his own town."

Leafiara says, "Ah, there he goes."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "As a result, those of that were hung without a trial before hand now have our reputations as stack as being lets see as Irval puts it, Child Killers, murderes, extortionists."

Faiyth says, "Keep working on it.."

Faiyth says, "That was horrible..."

Candidate Alendrial Speaks

Lady Alendrial just came down a staircase.

Speaking to herself, Raelee says, "... those books are likely those teaching him how to be a barrister..."

Alendrial blinks.

Speaking to Chandrellia, Irval says, "You forgot a few."

Speaking happily to Alendrial, Leafiara greets, "Lady Alendrial, good eve!"

Tayler asks, "Can I just declare myself a barrister and then do some light reading?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Samfelt, it gonna take leasht 1 ale fer me to fergibbed ye."

Alendrial asks, "Is there a meeting?"

Leafiara amusedly says, "Well, of sorts."

Speaking to Raelee, Kelfyr asks, "Do the books you read not teach you how to perform your profession?"

Samfelt grins at Gutstorm.

Speaking to Tayler, Thrassus says, "Might as well."

Speaking to Irval, Chandrellia says, "I'mjust throwing a few out there, I know you are a historian onthe Rooks, kind creepy if you ask me."

Samfelt deeply says, "There is still half a keg at the camp."

Speaking amiably to Alendrial, Leafiara says, "Congratulations on your candidacy."

Samfelt nods at Gutstorm.

Kialeigh says, "Did all the shouting attract yer attention>"

>l alendr

You see Lady Alendrial DeArchon.

She appears to be a Half-Elf.

She is very tall and slender. She appears to be youthful. She has beguiling coral blue eyes and flawless ivory skin. She has loosely curled, chin-length champagne brown hair. She has dainty ears that taper to a slight point.

She is in good shape.

She is wearing a silk-lined black leather longcloak, a fireleaf-inlaid elven thigh sheath, a cutwork leather corset with niello clasp, a pintucked pewter linen blouse tucked into black leather vambraces, an embossed leather belt looped twice around its mithril buckle, a hip-slung ashen leather kit, some soft doeskin breeches, and a pair of cross-tied black oilcloth boots with ridged leather soles.

Alendrial nods at Leafiara.

Alendrial says, "Thank you."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Vaemyr says, "No? He heard about the attack on the supplies. Worried about people being hurt, or starving or who knows, and decided to do something about it. The fact you all were planning an attack on supplies while the Remnants and Ordlyn are running roughshot through town, and the Ember vale is attacking us is very much worth procesicuting. Defend it how you like. And Thadston was 100% in the wrong for how he acted, but Samfelt did nothing more than try to protect people he cared about."

Alendrial says, "Someone with a good measure of sense needed to run."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Raelee says, "Yes, but... I suspect at this point one might prefer their barrister to be slightly more caught up on the subject."

Leafiara agrees with Alendrial.

Speaking drunkenly to Alendrial, Gutstorm slurs, "Welcome new mayor."

Speaking to Alendrial, Leafiara agrees, "Indeed."

Alendrial says, "I am not your new mayor."

Alendrial says, "Not without your votes."

Kialeigh says, "Yet."

Leafiara says, "Soon."

Alosaka says, "Good sense is in short supply, sometimes."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "Its fine, the truth shall us free."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Irval says, "What he said."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Da Ayesh happit!"

Chandrellia says, "Set us free."

Speaking to Alendrial, Stormyrain murmurs, "I hope Ayred is well?"

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "Well, you're running against a spree killer and Amos. I know who I'm voting for."

Faiyth says, "Save us from chattering men..."

Alendrial says, "I could pen a two scroll letter of things I admire in both Amos and Thadston, but the men are too busy roaring and trying to out piss one another, we've real problems to solve."

Samfelt grins.

Faiyth asks, "Who's the most attractive?"

Alendrial says, "Ayred is well, yes. thank you."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We need a lady mayor, ladiesh are far more peppermental den men mayorsh."

Faiyth says, "I'll vote for the sexiest one."

Stormyrain smiles.

Stormyrain inclines her head.

Alendrial says, "Then me."

Faiyth asks, "What? Isn't that how it's done?"

Alendrial nods at Faiyth.

Faiyth nods at Alendrial.

Kiyna says, "Though, perhaps I won't have a vote by the time that election is to happen. We'll have to see."

Faiyth says, "Ye got my vote.."

Faiyth says, "I trust elves more anywya."

Faiyth says, "Ears are pointy like kobolds."

Alendrial asks, "I just came down to go find some tea before bed...is there a meeting I am walking into?"

Alendrial asks, "Or did I miss something?"

Speaking to Alendrial, Alosaka says, "Perhaps you're interested in sharing your position on the important matters facing the Landing? We are besieged from within and without these days."

Faiyth says, "More like a war."

Leafiara explains, "The barrister wanting to offer representation at the coming trial just stopped by."

Alendrial asks, "I have a few minutes, of course. What first?"

Alendrial peers quizzically at Alosaka.

Speaking to Alendrial, Alosaka says, "The new barony, for starters."

Stormyrain offers Alendrial a cup of jasmine tea.

Alendrial accepts Stormyrain's jasmine tea.

Kialeigh says, "Just keep walking.. you'll need a lot of tea."

Alendrial says, "Ah, there will be a place for you in Moot Hall dear."

Alendrial nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking drunkenly to Stormyrain, Gutstorm whispers aloud, "Brownoder."

Alendrial smiles.

Alendrial takes a drink from her jasmine tea.

Faiyth says, "Ugh.. so fancy tea."

Speaking amusedly to Alendrial, Stormyrain says, "I spend all my time in the Barracks, I prefer it, but thank you."

Alendrial asks, "The Barony of Darkstone?"

Alendrial peers quizzically at Alosaka.

Alendrial says, "Inevitable."

Alosaka nods at Alendrial.

Speaking to Alendrial, Irval says, "You missed the Mayor announcing he will announce when the trial will be ahead in a few days. And a bunch of Rook council members and supporters trying to plead their case while this empath chaser, Jeshiah, trying to represent the ones that were hung...in a nutshell...or acorn shell as it were."

Alosaka nods understandingly.

Alendrial says, "The moment to stop the Empire's growth was two years ago, which is why it was done far away and in secrecy."

Leafiara muses, "Mmmm, sounds about right."

Speaking drunkenly to Alendrial, Gutstorm slurs, "Yoo say it to late to cut da head offa da shnake?"

Alosaka asks, "Will you allow a vote on protectorate status?"

Faiyth says, "Honestly there was far too much chatter for so little whiskey."

Alendrial says, "Words and blood will not stop it. In fact, those could only exasberate it."

Faiyth says, "I'm almost sober.."

Tikba mildly says, "Jovery has forbidden such a vote."

[General] Directed indignantly to Nyaria, Mauss exclaims, "...Hmmph!"

Alendrial says, "Language like that, does no good."

Alendrial nods at Gutstorm.

Leafiara says, "If words could exacerbate it, we're in even deeper trouble than I thought."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kialeigh asks, "Snake!?"

Speaking drunkenly to Alendrial, Gutstorm slurs, "Ye makin fun da way me talk?"

Samfelt inclines his ear, listening intently.

Gutstorm raises an eyebrow in Alendrial's direction.

Alendrial says, "The Empire is not a snake in the garden. They are quite large and bright, and you can hear them coming even before you see them coming."

Kialeigh fearfully asks, "I was promised there would be no snakes!?"

Alendrial says, "But the world does not need to be them or us."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Chandrellia says, "In her defence Guts, sometimes it is a lil difficult."

Kialeigh nervously says, "Just spiders..."

Falvicar says, "So wyrm. not snake."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me wud born witta wishp."

Speaking to Tikba, Alosaka says, "Of course I respect the statements of Earl Jovery."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kelfyr asks, "What do you make of efforts to our north to form a larger nation?"

Alendrial says, "The best way to win, for lack of a better word, is to take measures and positions that create value in Wehnimer's Landing freedom, and make us more beneficial at their side then behind in chains."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Chandrellia says, "Its ok we still lobe ya."

Alendrial asks, "Does that make sense?"

Speaking to Alendrial, Irval asks, "What chains?"

Speaking to Alendrial, Leafiara agrees, "Can respect that stance."

Faiyth says, "Would definitely mean less orders for chairs."

Samfelt agrees with Alendrial.

Faiyth says, "And desks."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "So long as we don't become them, I am alright with that outcome."

Tikba politely says, "It is very similar to Amos's view."

Speaking to Alendrial, Thrassus says, "It sounds like you have decided cooperation is the best route."

Alendrial says, "Honestly, I do not know enough of this new north nation building ideas."

Alendrial nods at Kelfyr.

Alendrial says, "I would like to hear more."

Alendrial says, "No, Amos's view is different."

Alendrial says, "Of course, he will make it sound like our views are the same."

Faiyth says, "I wanna see this Amos guy fer myself..."

Alendrial says, "But the man would sell your freedom if it profited him and ensured order."

Leafiara says, "Mayor Talliver from Icemule has stellar ideas he's working on implementing. Fascinating to hear when you do have time."

Faiyth says, "Thanthos is just not good looking at all."

Speaking to Alendrial, Leafiara agrees, "No doubt."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kelfyr says, "There's a coalition being built from the Mayor's office. Perhaps when Envoys are selected, the elected Mayor will have the representation they need to stay informed."

Alendrial nods at Kelfyr.

Alendrial says, "I look forward to the new envoys."

Alendrial says, "Cordarius was..."

Alendrial says, "Well, Cordarius."

Speaking to Faiyth, Kiyna says, "You can't miss him. Bearskin cloak, big as a house."

Chandrellia says, "Huge ego."

Samfelt deeply says, "I believe I've overstayed my welcome for the evening. If you will excuse me, I am going to return to the camp."

Samfelt bows.

Alosaka admits, "Well, if nothing else, you speak like a diplomat. That's the first part of being a diplomat, I'm told, and the world can certainly use more diplomats."

Faiyth asks, "Yeah? And how's he LOOK?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Kelfyr says, "Emissary."

Faiyth says, "Bearish is a good start."

Thuldir says, "Like a house."

Speaking to Samfelt, Missoni says, "Travel safely."

Samfelt looks over at Irval and shakes his head.

Speaking politely to Samfelt, Tikba suggests, "It is not hard to understand how the Landing works. It is just as things were for you as a child, with your friends. Did you select a child among you to be baron, and rule over you all, with the right of life and death? Did it seem necessary to do so?"

Irval nods at Samfelt.

Falvicar whispers something to Chandrellia.

Speaking to Samfelt, Tikba says, "Sleep well."

Samfelt nods once.

Emissary Samfelt just went out.

Alendrial says, "Wehnimer's Landing is far more important of an ally, one with resources, heroes, and history, to the Barony of Darkstone. We will not wait for Elidal to write our rules and draw our lines. We can do that ourselves."

Speaking to Faiyth, Kiyna says, "I'm not interested in men, but his jolly smirk is extremely punchable, for what that's worth."

Faiyth says, "Oh...."

Faiyth asks, "A smirk has he?"

Faiyth exclaims, "Well I know who I'm voting fer!"

Kelfyr asks, "So your position is that we do hold a pen?"

Alendrial says, "But we must be fair, and we must show Elidal that, partnering with us, is more beneficial than subjugating us."

Kelfyr says, "I'd like to hear more about this when you're not seeking a nightcap."

Alendrial begins chuckling at Kelfyr!

Alendrial nods at Kelfyr.

Alendrial says, "Not just a pen alone, no."

Perigourd says, "I would expect he has espoused that view many times before."

Chandrellia asks, "May I ask a question?"

Perigourd says, "Not so many seemed to hear it then."

Tikba mildly says, "He has. But we must attempt to make him mean it."

Speaking to Perigourd, Evia says, "Doesn't fit the agenda if you say it that way."

Speaking to Arahnim, Irval says, "No need to break them, They are already broke."

Alendrial says, "A hand must be equally strong enough to hold a pen and a sword."

Alendrial nods.

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd asks, "Because he's been insincere so far?"

Alendrial says, "But only use one."

Speaking to Alendrial, Chandrellia says, "Now that you have declared your canidacy for Mayor will you be making more appearances, and I am glad you are doing better since your mishap from the council." [She means the Consortium, I believe.]

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Alosaka asks, "Still hopeful?"

Speaking politely to Perigourd, Tikba agrees, "Yes."

Alendrial says, "Yes, I still have a job to do as the Steward of the Coffers."

Alendrial says, "But, yes."

Alendrial nods at Chandrellia.

Speaking amusedly to Alosaka, Leafiara says, "You should have seen the delight on my face when the clerk announced Alendrial's candidacy six hours ago."

Alendrial says, "There may be a debate."

Speaking to Alosaka, Leafiara answers, "So yes."

Alendrial grins at Leafiara.

Leafiara winks at Alendrial.

Alendrial says, "My opponents will try to smear me, I am sure."

Leafiara nods at Alendrial.

Alendrial says, "They'll call me the first Mother."

Kelfyr says, "They smear as easily as breathe."

Leafiara says, "They'll raise distant history to deflect from their recent history."

Alosaka notes, "Not without reason."

Alendrial says, "Which, truth be told, I was, but I made it look good."

Alendrial says, "I mended the wings of injured Rooks, I did not wound them further."

Alendrial says, "I'd do the same for any knight or grifter."

Alosaka asks, "And, if elected, how would you tend to our modern flock of rooks?"

Alendrial takes a drink from her jasmine tea.

Alendrial says, "This tea is delicous. I will sleep sound this eve, thank you Marshal."

Kialeigh says, "You seem of a much smoother disposition if nothing else."

Alendrial nods at Stormyrain.

Stormyrain smiles.

Speaking to Alosaka, Kiyna says, "Don't use the word 'flock'. It brings bad sour memories of Mist Harbor."

Stormyrain inclines her head.

Kialeigh says, "Where one wants to kill them all and the other wants to sell them all.."

Alendrial shrugs at Kialeigh.

Alosaka quietly says, "We can have nice furniture again..."

Alendrial says, "We all have our flaws."

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr asks, "Curious, how's your husband?"

Alendrial says, "Thadston is a good man on most days, and he means right. But he has seen trials most humans could not imagine, or survive. But you're right, a Mayor needs a smooth surface, not jagged edges."

Alendrial nods at Kialeigh.

Alendrial says, "In Idolone, facing justice one day."

Alendrial nods at Vaemyr.

Kialeigh says, "It's more or less about who has the most redeemable flaws."

Vaemyr ponders.

Vaemyr nods at Alendrial.

Kialeigh says, "No one can be perfect unless they've been freshly healed."

Alendrial takes a drink from her jasmine tea.

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "I have a request."

Alendrial says, "Well, we'll speak more soon."

Alendrial says, "I am not Mayor yet."

Alendrial begins chuckling at Kiyna!

Speaking to Alendrial, Vaemyr says, "So guessing his trial's been delayed a while then, wonder if they'll even remember what he's being tried for."

Leafiara agrees, "Yet."

Alendrial asks, "Yes councilor?"

Faiyth says, "Yet."

Faiyth asks, "Do you at least have an attractive husband?"

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna asks, "If you do become Mayor, and you become poisoned or cursed or imbedded with shards of some horrible metal, will you treat the problem immediately instead of waiting several years?"

Faiyth says, "I mean we do need the eye candy too."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "... the record-keeping practices are usually quite sufficient."

Alendrial says, "Justice is slow, but imperial memories are long. Trust me. I have been hunted by them. My wedding night was fleeing on ship from Idolone. I know the dark spots of the Empire. But I know the bright ones."

Speaking to Irval, Faiyth says, "Don't look at me.. i do what I wanna do."

Alosaka observes, "It would be interesting if a consensus candidate managed to emerge who could appeal to all sides through the promise of reason and a steady hand at the tiller governance."

Speaking to Alendrial, Chandrellia says, "We have some of the best healers in all of Elanthia."

Speaking to Faiyth, Irval says, "Ive noticed."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara admits, "Kind of sad this needs to be a legitimate question, and yet here we've been over the past several years."

Alosaka says, "But, that sounds like a future question."

Alendrial begins chuckling at Kiyna!

Alendrial says, "I do not plan to have any of that happen."

Speaking to Alendrial, Kiyna says, "As Leafi says, perhaps that's a very specific, focused question, but well, here we are."

Leafiara says, "No one ever plans for it. Just prepare for the worst."

Speaking to Alendrial, Drazaa notes, "An optimist I see."

Alendrial begins chuckling at Drazaa!

Goldstr says, "WELL SAID m'lADY."

Alosaka says, "Well."

Speaking to Alendrial, Chandrellia says, "And thank you for stopping by and spending a wee bot of time with us and answering questions."

Alosaka says, "Be safe, friends."

Alendrial says, "All I ask, is if I am cursed or befall some great magical explosion, I want the gift of flight."

Alendrial says, "I have always felt the ground was not for me."

Faiyth says, "Maybe the ladies of the groups should all get together for tea.."

Faiyth says, "And turn the necks."

Thrassus says, "If it's an explosion you will be granted that at least briefly."

Alendrial smirks at Thrassus.

Alendrial says, "Goodnight everyone. Vote for Wehnimer's Landing. If you do that, if you honestly do that, we'll be just fine."

Lady Alendrial just went out.

Discussion Afterward

Chandrellia asks, "Can we, kind of not put trn, or stretch, or rope in the same sentance with necks?"

Leafiara yells, "Rest well!"

Leafiara blithely opines, "What a fine evening."

Faiyth asks, "You wunna dem ones that got stretched?"

Tikba thoughtfully asks, "An old friend?"

Faiyth says, "Ye do look beautifully tall."

Thrassus says, "Well, it's good she sees the reality of the Barony situation."

Kiyna says, "Well. I suppose I shall see THadston in court."

Goldstr exclaims, "Well seems Amos out fer sure!"

Speaking to Kiyna, Chandrellia says, "We all will."

Faiyth says, "Did you some good.. and dey can't kill dat."

Vaemyr says, "Alright... well I'm going back to bed I think."

Faiyth exclaims, "Looking bootiful!"

Chandrellia says, "I will be in TSC healing."

Faiyth says, "Alright.. i better go check on Blarghe, make sure he isn't being watched again.."

Goldstr exclaims, "Fare well me friends!"

Irval says, "Safe hunting and safe dreams to you all, mostly."

Leafiara cheerfully exclaims, "Indeed, sleep well all!"

Kiyna says, "If anyone wishes to talk to me about recent matters, I am available."

Vaemyr says, "Watching all this... chaos about when there's other extremely pressing issues is just getting to me I guess."

Speaking curiously to Kelfyr, Tikba says, "Were you the author of that document? it is not signed."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "It gets to everyone."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Never not extremely pressing issues."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Chandrellia says, "You are not alone in that."

Speaking to Tikba, Kelfyr says, "The point was the message, not the messenger."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Chandrellia says, "Good eve Stormy Ma'am."

Leafiara wishes, "Until soon, be well all!"

Speaking amusedly to Kelfyr, Tikba says, "I have had similar thoughts before."

Leafiara gives Emperia a friendly hug.

[General] Directed to Chandrellia, Stormyrain thinks, "Merry eve, Miss Chandrellia."

Leafiara hugs Kiyna, who wraps her in a warm embrace.

Kiyna hugs Leafiara, who wraps her in a warm embrace.

Leafiara hugs Bellaja, who wraps her in a warm embrace.

Kelfyr says, "And the questions still went unaddressed."

Leafiara says, "There we go."

Leafiara says, "And for the rest of you..."

Leafiara raises an open palm to her mouth, purses her lips, and blows a gentle kiss into the air.

Leafiara amusedly says, "Feel free to dodge if you wish."
