A pale scaled shaper is far taller than a woman ought to be, with a stretched appearance like that of a doll tugged by battling children. That is, if she is even female: the pale robes that she wears, with their faint appliqued patterns of winking copper scales, betray only the most suggestive promise of a feminine form beneath. There is something upsettingly inhuman about the shaper's face, which has the shape and proportions of a human's, but eyes that glow like green embers and a dusting of ridged scales on its cheeks and brow.

Hunting Strategies

Shapers spawn with Wall of Force (140) and Cloak of Shadows (712) (with retributive Condemn (309)) active) as well as Soul Ward (319). However, if you can overcome their DS, their lack of armor leaves them vulnerable. They will occasionally cast Major Elemental Wave (435) back-to-back.

Shapers will automatically stand from prone, even if stunned. This happens 3-5 seconds after being knocked down.

Other Information

Shapers will turn dead adventurers, Lithe Veiled Sentinels, and Deathsworn Fanatics into a Shambling Lurk:

A pale scaled shaper stoops and places a hand on your chest. Green-tinged light spews from her hand, suffusing your flesh. For a moment, you feel nothing but incredible heat and power flowing through you, but something goes terribly wrong, and a cold hand tugs at your soul. Your last living sight is that of your flesh sloughing away like serpentskin, giving rise to something shambling and heinous.

Sidewinders - Shapers can summon sidewinder cobras on occasion if given enough time. The sidewinders can be skinned.
