Resembling a decaying corpse more than anything else, the lesser ghoul is hunched over so that its long arms trail along the ground. Sharp claw-like nails tip both hands and feet and the stench of corruption wafts thickly from the sodden rags of clothing that cling to its leprous body. Strings of gnawed flesh drop from the creature's loose-lipped mouth as it continues to chew on something better left unknown.

Behind the Scenes
In the I.C.E. Age lore the ghouls were victims of a transformation curse resulting from a magical disease called Ghoul Rot. The disease was transmitted by being clawed by the ghoul's nails, though obviously this was not actually implemented mechanically. The difference between lesser and greater ghouls was simply age, and as mindless undead they would obey those more powerful than themselves. They would have implicitly been sleeping in the muck of the bog of The Graveyard, and directed to attack trespassers spotted by the ghoul kings on the burial mound using their gorcrows. These ghouls were likely an allusion to the dream underworld of "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" by H.P. Lovecraft. However, the part of their description implying they feast on humanoids does not come from Rolemaster, and was probably meant to highlight a cannibalism theme.
