The Great Auction of 5116 (2016) was held Saturday, December 17th in Prime, and Sunday, December 18th in Platinum. Tents were located in the Hearthstone Manor Courtyard just outside of Wehnimer's Landing.
Participation
There were two tents, a silver one open to all paid subscribers, and a gold one for Premium subscribers only. Premium (and Platinum) accounts could go into either tent, but Basic accounts could only go into the silver tent. The event was not open to F2P accounts.
The auction was not held in Shattered, but the items will be released through another venue.
The TownCrier team covered the auction in each tent by telling people what was up for auction and who won an item when it completed. Durakar took detailed notes in a Google Sheet of the items during the auction at: http://tinyurl.com/hcgedhe.
Character Creation and Premium Subscription
There was a cut off to character creation and Premium subscription to enter the auction. Character creation will encompass rerolling/starting over. The exact date for both of these was not supplied, but there was some time after 11/23/2016 10:30 pm EST when the warning was posted to do either.
Bidding
Attendees needed to have all the silver and/or notes in hand at the time of BIDding. Notes could be from any bank anywhere in the lands and had to be held in hand (2 max). The bidding mechanics validated the silvers on a character on entry of the BID [amount] command. Coin hands, pouches, banks, gambling kits, and any other silver storing item did not get accounted for when checking silver amounts.
Limitations
Each account was limited to one win.
Passed Items
Items that did not receive any bids were not returned to for another round of bidding.

Post questions about your item, if you're having trouble, but try to discover the properties of an item as best as you can before seeking answers from the creators. BUG ITEM, do not ASSIST, to most quickly notify the creator that there is an issue.
