Synopsis

[OOC note: Not shown in this log is what happened several hours before it all. The Ember Vale reivers attacked Amos' baystone mine and his guards asked for help evacuating the miners, then Juramis spoke with people at the Wayside Inn. What happened in either instance, I don't know.]

Gilt-hued motes float down from Melgorehn's Reach toward Lake Eonak again, so adventurers go investigate. They're soon joined by Magister Enisius and Magister Remuliad, the former of whom has named the phenomenon the "Reachglow." Tikba says it might have started when Rodnay came under attack; Councilor Kayse suggests not upsetting him or triggering situations. After Remuliad expresses interest in research regarding the Reach, Enisius briefly considers having him replace Gutstorm on the research team, then relents and says he'll make a new spot. Missoni explains the recent extraplanar activity and scarabs burrowing into people.

Enisius tells Magister Raelee he'll need her assistance soon experimenting with watchrooms for those affected by scarabs. Kelfyr and Councilor Kiyna, who are among those affected, seek clarification--as does Marshal Stormyrain. It'll be voluntary to enter and exit as they wish, but while inside, "magical observations and samplings would occur." Kayse mentions that Kialeigh had her scarab removed, but Enisius is aware. He also says that maybe luxuries can be provided in the watchrooms, like illusions.

Soon, air ripples around Tayler and Rodnay begins to speak through him, saying it's burning him and please stop them. He speaks to Kayse's mind, saying "Do not press, do not push, I do not want the fire in you." People ask for further explanation and he eventually describes, through Tayler, that "It feeds, it sickens." Leafiara says that seems like Cordarius' manafires, which were established to suppress Raznel's blight by poisoning it, feeding it anti-mana instead of the mana it was intended to feed on. Enisius questions whether the manafires can be put out, but various people explain that that would bring back the blight. Leafi and Lylia say Grand Magister Octaven might know more since Cordarius was working under her when he created the fires and since she took the bleakstone statue of Lylia that Raznel used as a catalyst to start the blight.

The group considers that Rodnay might be referencing a different fire or something more metaphorical, but then Rodnay shows Kayse images of sickly green flames, leading everyone to agree with the initial assessment that it's the manafires. Enisius suggests moving Rodnay to avoid him being further poisoned by the manafires; Stormy asks to where; he says unknown; she questions about the alternative of removing the need for the pillars (which the fires are next to). Enisius asks Raelee if a bane coffin would contain Rodnay; Raelee says she's skeptical; Leafi says last time he was in one, his magic leaked out and blew up heads of members of the Hall of Mages at the outpost; Enisius backs off that plan. Kelfyr says maybe it shouldn't be written off too quickly and they could gather data by getting other Hall mages and putting them at various distances to see how far the effect reaches.

Kayse says she thinks she can keep Rodnay calm and focused, but doesn't want him harmed, and asks if Enisius can agree to it. He says he doesn't want to keep him as a prize or prisoner and suggests "sliding" Rodnay out instead of "carving" him out. When people ask what that means, he says the Harrowers will open a tome of destinations if one asked what lies beyond here. Leafi asks if he's suggesting extracting and displacing a portion of the Reach; Enisius says only the boy; Leafi questions whether part of the Reach would need to go with him so he could feed on it; he says a sacrifice might need to be made and asks whether it's more important to keep everyone safe or ensure Rodnay has four meals a day. Kayse, Leafi, Gutstorm, Stormy, Councilor Vaemyr, and Councilor Kiyna all make various points which ultimately conclude that sacrificing Rodnay is not an option. Enisius says removing him from what's poisoning him is an act of kindness; people challenge that and suggest asking Rodnay if he agrees to whatever the plan becomes; Enisius says he thinks it's naive to think we can take perfect action while requiring Rodnay's explicit permission. Kayse and Kelfyr imply and say, respectively, that it seems overly convenient that Enisius' first idea is to remove Rodnay from the Reach since he's getting in the way of possible research.

After a tired Enisius needs to leave and says he doesn't want to hurt "the person you call an ally," nor hurt everyone else, Remuliad continues the discussion by suggesting containing the motes and seeing how they react to different types of magic--or even collecting insects and other small creatures from the area where Rodnay stays, then observing them. He suggests noting wheres, whens, conditions of the storm, and other phenomena. Stormy and Missoni say they can help with that. Remuliad suggests they coordinate with Raelee and he'll assist as needed.

Motes at the Reach

[Rusty Cutlass, Grub Hall]

Burnished wooden planks curve out to form the massive hall of the tavern's entrance, with rows of sturdy oaken posts rising to connect with a network of rafters above. Dozens of blackened oil lanterns hang from the ceiling, their light at times a haze behind wisps of smoke drifting in from the galley. In the center rests a huge cast-iron pot surrounded by countless tables and barrel chairs. A half-circle driftwood bar is nestled in the corner beneath a salt-stained crest. You also see a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a mug of Blackdew grog, a mug of Blackdew grog, a mug of Blackdew grog, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a chalice of mint on the rum, a chalice of mint on the rum, a chalice of mint on the rum, a chalice of mint on the rum, a chalice of mint on the rum, a goblet of warm mulled wine, a goblet of warm mulled wine, a goblet of warm mulled wine, a goblet of warm mulled wine, the Diablic disk, a goblet of warm mulled wine, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, a large driftwood box, a wide wooden ramp and an open archway leading to a wooden plank bridge.

A cool breeze stirs through the area.

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild deep red dog, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a flagon of Dragonsdraught ale, a chalice of mint on the rum, a chalice of mint on the rum, a chalice of mint on the rum, a chalice of mint on the rum, a chalice of mint on the rum, a bottle of brown honey rum, a bottle of brown honey rum, a goblet of warm mulled wine, a goblet of warm mulled wine, a goblet of warm mulled wine, a goblet of warm mulled wine, a goblet of warm mulled wine, some freckled strawberry wine, some freckled strawberry wine, a mug of Blackdew grog, a mug of Blackdew grog, a mug of Blackdew grog, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a tall frozen Dinghy, a comical glacier spirit that is flying around, the Niffly disk, an onion and garlic-stuffed bread, the Ethilred disk, the Renlyn disk, the Stormyrain disk, the Kelfyr disk, a grizzled porcupine, the Christielle disk, the Korpacz disk, a crude bone key, a mottled grey ragamuffin cat, a clear zircon, a sharp-nosed grey puppy with long corded fur, the Tayler disk, a sundried tomato and garlic loaf, a large acorn, a round silver-banded barrel, an herbal remedy donation bin, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it and an old well.

[Realm] The invoker thinks, "Residents of Wehnimer's Landing, I am currently at Town Square, Small Park and offering spells to those in need."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Ahnud asks, "Anywhere close to put a good drunk on?"

Leafiara says, "If this is Amos again after that mine attack earlier, I'm calling it an early--oh, the invoker."

[gets the invoker, then returns]

Pookia says, "Whats happening neighbors."

Nyaria quietly says, "Rain."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me like wotchin girlsh smooch."

Leafiara amusedly says, "Ah, I see Diablic dropped by."

Pookia says, "I really missed most of yas."

Speaking drunkenly to Tikba, Gutstorm slurs, "Mulros blesh yoo."

Pookia exclaims, "But i still hate standing still!"

Speaking politely to Gutstorm, Tikba says, "Marlu's blessings upon you as well."

Ahnud says, "Raining quite a bit tonight..."

Ahnud says, "Suppose there are places to be that aren't here."

Gilt-hued specks of light drift down from the peaks of Melgorehn's Reach like chromatic rain.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat to far to walk."

Pookia says, "Noooooo its sooo hard to get thereee."

Speaking to Tikba, Lylia says, "I am beginning to question my choice of a gown instead of leather armor."

Leafiara says, "Ah, delightful, this."

Speaking to Lylia, Perigourd says, "Always armor."

Speaking to Lylia, Tikba says, "I suppose it depends on your evening plans."

Speaking to Lylia, Missoni suggests, "Illusion."

Lylia says, "I had sought to speak to Thadston about a rather pressing matter -- but there may be matters more pressing still."

The metallic motes seem to flutter along the surface of Lake Eonak like glowing fireflies.

Speaking to Lylia, Nairena says, "If you die, then you will look fabulous."

Kayse offers, "Perhaps we should move to the lake?"

Leafiara grumbles, "To the lake."

Speaking to Nairena, Lylia says, "I would like to think that is true in armor as well."

Leafiara says, "And moving..."

Imperatrix Lylia's group just went west.

Town Councilor Kayse's group just went west.

Speaking to Leafiara, Pookia exclaims, "Leadiara! lead away!"

[Melgorehn's Reach, Lake Eonak]

You are on the bank of a beautiful mountain lake that is fed by a waterfall gushing from the mountain side. There is a path which seems to actually lead up the side of the mountain. You also see the Kiyna disk, the Kelfyr disk, the Stormyrain disk, a grizzled porcupine, the Gutstorm disk, the Vaemyr disk, a barely visible trail leading into a grove of ancient trees and a cedar chip path.

Also here: Xorus, Imperatrix Lylia, Town Councilor Kiyna, Stormyrain, Kelfyr, Seaward Gutstorm, Town Councilor Vaemyr

Asben, Wolfloner, Nairena, Pookia and Emmeranne followed.

Town Councilor Kayse's group just arrived.

Leafiara notes, "For the record, if I start seeing scarabs fly from the sky, I'm pulling back."

Kelfyr says, "Would recommend it."

Kiyna says, "Yeah... the scarab has been less than fun."

Speaking to Lylia, Tayler says, "If they get through the armor and the shield they're foul creatures indeed."

Emmeranne asks, "Isthat was is crawling unbder your skin?"

Missoni says, "Two would probably not be all that much different from one."

Kelfyr says, "As long as no one decides to leave any krodera lying around, we might be ok."

Lylia says, "I have had my own experiences with the creatures, although the context was quite different."

Speaking to Emmeranne, Kiyna says, "Around a month now, there's a scarab been living inside my body... not just mine, either."

Magisters on the Scene

Kayse closes her eyes for a moment.

Speaking to Kelfyr, Leafiara says, "Going to fill in for Pukk for a moment... so you're saying it's Irval's fault. Sounds about right." [OOC note: Whoops, this is actually accidental metagaming since Leafi wasn't there that night and I had an alt logging. If it hadn't drawn a response then I'd just delete this line, but I didn't want to cut Kelfyr out for my own slip uh, so eh.]

Emmeranne says, "Perhaps it looks to infest you with great power."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kelfyr asks, "Oh, is that who dropped that?"

Kelfyr says, "Huh."

Speaking curiously to Kayse, Leafiara asks, "Rodnay?"

Magister Enisius just arrived.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Did da infected folk try shwimnin in the lake?"

Speaking to Emmeranne, Kiyna says, "Wishful thinking... but I'll take it."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Leafiara says, "If I remember correctly, yes."

Enisius clears his throat.

Enisius says, "Oh..."

Enisius says, "Hi."

Missoni greets, "Magister Enisius."

Speaking to Enisius, Lylia says, "Hello."

Speaking to Enisius, Perigourd says, "Fair eve."

Speaking politely to Enisius, Tikba greets, "Magister."

Speaking to Enisius, Vaemyr says, "Hi."

Enisius asks, "Come to see the Reachglow?"

Magister Remuliad just limped in.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat wutcher callin it?"

Tikba asks, "Have you named it?"

Remuliad takes a moment to observe a beautiful mountain lake.

Speaking to Missoni, Emmeranne asks, "Itis possibile, I mean, most scarabs do hold spells within them, perhaps these arent much different, just need a way to release the magic within?"

Enisius says, "Oh."

[General] Greycrown thinks, "I didn't know you had that kind of relationship with her but okay."

Missoni greets, "Magister Remuliad."

Enisius glances at Remuliad.

Leafiara considers, "Well, now there's an unusual sight. Two Magisters and neither is Raelee."

Enisius moves to stand in front of Remuliad.

Speaking to Emmeranne, Missoni says, "That is a very optimistic view of it."

Enisius loudly says before Remuliad, "HELLO REMULIAD."

Speaking to Missoni, Emmeranne says, "Just a slight observation."

Remuliad softly asks, "What is this phenomenon about here?"

Speaking to Enisius, Emmeranne says, "We do have ears."

Kiyna asks, "Did he write that on his palm in uppercase...?"

Leafiara mutters, "Just because you wrote it in entirely capital letters doesn't necessarily mean you have to shout it."

Enisius says, "It is to ensure he heard me."

Remuliad softly says, "Oh my. You must be Enisius. Yes, yes, you do look like him."

Speaking to Enisius, Emmeranne says, "If he is that deaf, yelling wonthelp."

Speaking to Remuliad, Lylia says, "We have observed it before; sometimes it presages nothing at all, and other times it is a precursor to something quite lethal."

Remuliad is admiring Enisius.

Enisius says, "I actually look like two people."

Enisius says, "But, yes."

Enisius nods.

Speaking to Enisius, Kiyna says, "I met your parents, by the way."

Enisius glances at Kiyna.

Enisius says, "Oh."

Kayse corrects, "We met your parents."

Enisius asks, "And?"

Speaking to Enisius, Perigourd says, "Your mother is quite charming."

Speaking softly to Enisius, Remuliad says, "Two? Yes. Of course."

Speaking to Enisius, Missoni says, "Lovely people."

Tikba carefully says, "The beginning of the, ah, Reachglow, may have been when Rodnay began to come under attack."

Enisius says, "Yes..."

Enisius says, "Lovely people."

Kayse calmly says, "It would be nice to not upset him or trigger any--situations."

Enisius says, "Never known to have outlandish expectations."

Vaemyr says, "Your father is.... umm... something. Your Mother seemed like a pretty wonderful Lady though, I can see where Elidal gets some of his charm."

Enisius asks, "Why would I be upset?"

Remuliad softly asks, "I'm a bit rattled by all this. Why is there glowing lights falling here?"

Enisius says, "Oh. do you mean..."

Enisius gazes up into the heavens.

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse says, "I am speaking of Rodnay."

Remuliad gazes up into the heavens.

Enisius says, "The blue boy."

Tikba gently says, "Family can be difficult."

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse corrects, "Rodnay."

Enisius says, "Elidal is not the only benefactor of such gifts and traits."

Speaking lightly to Enisius, Kayse says, "He has a name, perhaps you should write it on your hand."

Enisius glances at Vaemyr. Nairena put a large bar of milk chocolate in her black stave harness.

Raelee suddenly fades into view.

Speaking to Remuliad, Kiyna says, "I feel like I can speak as an authority on magic in this instance, so I'll explain. The reason there's glowing stuff falling from the sky here? Magic."

Speaking to Remuliad, Vaemyr says, "Something is making the reach "sick" from what we were told."

Remuliad softly says, "This must be the famed Reach of Melgorehn's. I have only read of it."

Leafiara relievedly says, "Okay, now I feel better with Raelee here."

Remuliad looks thoughtfully at Vaemyr.

Kelfyr says, "A full triumverate."

Speaking drunkenly to Raelee, Gutstorm whispers aloud, "Yoo bruddersh are here."

Enisius asks, "Can someone please inform the third magister what the other two know of the Reach?"

Enisius says, "...thanks."

Remuliad softly asks, "Sick?"

Enisius says, "Do not touch anything or muddy anything."

Enisius nods at Remuliad.

Tayler asks, "There's three of them, are we going to die?"

Speaking carefully to Enisius, Raelee asks, "Am I the third, or part of 'the other two'?"

Remuliad nods in agreement.

Speaking to Remuliad, Lylia asks, "This is your first time seeing it in such close proximity?"

Remuliad softly says, "Magister Raelee."

Enisius says, "You are the first, I am the second."

Enisius nods at Raelee.

Remuliad nods to Raelee in greeting.

Kiyna says, "And now we have three Magisters. I think they may reproduce by budding."

Raelee says, "Agreed. I am the first."

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "Magister Remuliad."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara agrees, "Raelee at the very least."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "... I do not reproduce."

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara relents, "That also sounds correct."

Speaking to Remuliad, Vaemyr says, "Well that was the word used, I imagine it is more like a corruption or twist of the magic that exists here. Trying to potentially use it for a different purpose perhaps, but we don't know the cause yet."

A mote of silver light drips from the sky, floating like a glittering drop of dew, before it melts into the depths of the lake.

Kiyna says, "Careful. Those lights are pretty, but I don't think it would be pleasant to touch one. All sorts of weirdness comes with those."

Remuliad softly says, "My travels have kept me away from this part of the mainland. I apologize if I am not as well informed of its nature. Books only provide so much information, but seeing it in person is another thing entirely."

Remuliad softly says, "I hope there is more research to study on it."

Enisius says, "We have some teams."

Enisius nods at Remuliad.

Tikba thoughtfully says, "The last time we came, there were magical effects on various metals, when the motes descended."

Speaking to Remuliad, Missoni explains, "The Reach itself is a rather volatile confluence of magical energy that is influence by the Liabo moon."

Enisius says, "....I guess there could be an opening."

Remuliad nods approvingly at Enisius.

Enisius sighs.

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "We should be more prepared soon. We just need to finish compiling the existing research so that the new team is not conducting redundant work."

Emmeranne says, "Oh great lets meddle with this magic, I do find it entertaining."

Enisius says, "You can have the spot held by Gut...."

Enisius sighs.

Enisius slowly empties his lungs.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Why not infect folk baff in da lake?"

Enisius says, "Nevermind."

Enisius says, "We'll make a spot."

Enisius nods at Remuliad.

Remuliad softly says, "I have been known to chase down a mana storm or two. Really just the one that almost destroyed Torre, but recently I've been investigating that one off the coast of Teras. That is, until I was taken captive."

Remuliad softly asks, "What interests you so much about this one in particular?"

Remuliad points his rune-carved staff at a beautiful mountain lake.

Speaking to Kayse, Emmeranne says, "Nothing good will come of this."

Speaking plainly to Emmeranne, Kayse responds, "Nothing good comes of most of what happens to our town."

Speaking to Remuliad, Missoni says, "It seems to have been the site, recently, of some extraplanar activity. That is the possible source of the motes."

Speaking to Kayse, Emmeranne says, "I am just here to see the chaos, I was told it was pentiful."

Goldstr says, "Many magics der."

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "Personally, I am quite drawn to the temporal phenomenon Melgorehn constructed... granted, this is not a part of the storm itself."

Remuliad softly asks, "Extraplanar, you say?"

Speaking to Remuliad, Missoni says, "And some here have... remnants of that energy in the form of scarabs currently living inside of them."

Speaking measuredly to Emmeranne, Kayse says, "Let us hope not this evening."

Watchers

Enisius says, "Magister..."

Speaking to Remuliad, Missoni says, "That is my supposition."

Enisius sighs.

Enisius says, "Magister Raelee."

Raelee glances at Enisius.

Remuliad starts chortling.

Enisius says, "I will need your assistance in the coming days. We are going to experiment with..."'

Enisius says, "What to call them what to call them..."

Remuliad softly exclaims, "An experiment! How exciting!"

Enisius looks down at his hands but shrugs.

Speaking to Enisius, Kiyna offers, "Magic death pillars?"

Speaking to Enisius, Raelee asks, "What to call... what?"

Speaking quickly to Kiyna, Raelee says, "It is not a 'death' pillar."

Speaking thoughtfully to Missoni, Tikba asks, "Do you think the scarabs are merely accidental?"

Enisius asks, "Watchrooms?"

Enisius asks, "Watch booths?"

Speaking amiably to Raelee, Leafiara says, "It's in Darkstone. Give it time."

Vaemyr says, "Experiments are fun."

Enisius says, "We will set them up for those affected by the scarabs."

Speaking to Enisius, Raelee asks, "Our observation points?"

Lylia asks, "Did I hear you say washrooms?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Shcring chambersh."

Speaking softly to Enisius, Remuliad asks, "Observation towers?"

Kelfyr asks, "I'm sorry, what?"

Enisius asks, "Why are you sorry?"

Enisius peers quizzically at Kelfyr.

Speaking to Tikba, Missoni says, "I think the selection of the hosts may have been accidental, but I am not convinced the scarabs themselves are."

Speaking to Enisius, Kelfyr says, "I believe you're going to need to elaborate."

Tikba asks, "Rooms for those holding the scarabs to remain in?"

Enisius says, "Oh, I see."

Enisius says, "Yes."

Speaking to Enisius, Kiyna says, "That sounds like you want to put me in a box."

Enisius says, "No."

Speaking to yourself, Leafiara murmurs, "Right then, running even faster than planned if I see flying scarabs."

Enisius says, "No I mean."

Lylia says, "The scarabs are very like Raznel's creatures. It stands to reason she got them from somewhere. Or somewhen."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Why not make dem glass coffin to observe dem in?"

Enisius asks, "Maybe?"

Enisius sighs.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Emmeranne says, "Yes lets experiment with unknown magic, just like my kin Dhe'nar did, and were they not banished for such experiments, yet here you all are doing the same."

Speaking to Enisius, Stormyrain asks, "Would this be voluntary?"

Speaking to Markx, Nairena exclaims, "He told me to do it!"

Enisius says, "No and yes."

Enisius says, "Yes, voluntary."

Stormyrain nods slowly.

Enisius says, "You would be able to enter and exit when you wish."

Stormyrain asks, "And if someone with a scarab did not wish to participate?"

Speaking to Emmeranne, Kiyna asks, "I thought you wanted chaos?"

Speaking drunkenly to Kiyna, Gutstorm whispers aloud, "No one heard me."

Enisius says, "But while inside, well..."

Kelfyr says, "That's what the mouse believes, as he walks into the trap."

Speaking to Asben, Nairena says, "One thumping is enough."

Enisius says, "Magical observations and samplings would occur, if you will."

Emmeranne says, "Oh I do, just making a point."

Remuliad softly asks, "Scarabs? You mean magical constructs of a tiny nature, often formed into the semblance of a beetle-like insect covered in runes and tasked with a purpose?"

Speaking quietly to Enisius, Raelee mentions, "Though the free comings and goings do introduce additional variables to our data."

Kayse asks, "What kind of samplings?"

Perigourd asks, "Samplings of what?"

Enisius says, "Yes."

Enisius nods at Raelee.

Enisius says, "It is not the perfect condition."

Speaking offhandedly to Remuliad, Leafiara says, "Yes, except in this case of some kind of extraplanar energy."

Speaking to Emmeranne, Tayler says, "These are also matters of the Human empire, not the Elven empire that doesn't even exist anymore."

Enisius says, "But I am told it has to be voluntary and they must be allowed to come and go."

Speaking quietly to herself, Raelee mutters, "It never is here."

Speaking to Remuliad, Vaemyr says, "Aye, but in this case, crafted of whatever energy those motes are made of, and impended and bound to the bodies and souls of people."

Speaking mildly to Enisius, Tikba agrees, "Yes."

Stormyrain slowly says, "Yes that would be advisable."

Remuliad glances between Enisius and Raelee.

Kayse repeats, "Samplings such as?"

Remuliad inclines his ear, listening intently.

Remuliad scratches his ear.

Enisius says, "The initial experiment can perhaps give us some baseline information to narrow down a more controlled second setting."

Kelfyr asks, "You are told or you believe?"

Enisius nods at Raelee.

Enisius says, "I am told."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Tikba says, "He was directed thus."

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse says, "Someone had their scarab removed supposedly as well."

Speaking quietly to Enisius, Raelee asks, "Are these directives coming from your brother?"

Speaking to Kayse, Kiyna asks, "I heard that. Kialeigh, yes?"

Enisius says, "I have been informed."

Lylia says, "I heard something of that."

Speaking to Tikba, Kelfyr says, "He's not a man gifted with a keen grasp of words. I allowed him to specify."

Missoni confusedly asks, "How?"

Enisius says, "For the voluntary involvement? Yes, my brother."

Speaking to Missoni, Kayse says, "Moving shadows."

Enisius says, "The magical scanning is of my design."

Speaking to Enisius, Goldstr asks, "Ye's Been uo der an seen da Beam?"

Speaking to Kayse, Missoni asks, "Of an extraplanar nature?"

Speaking to Missoni, Kayse admits, "She was not very clear."

Enisius says, "It had beneficial results once before."

Remuliad takes a moment to observe a cedar chip path.

Missoni exclaims, "I wish she had been!"

Remuliad glances between a mountain path and a cedar chip path.

Remuliad rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Speaking to Remuliad, Tikba says, "Do you wish to see the top of the Reach? I fear it is a lengthy trip."

Enisius says, "We would...welcome your input and eyes as well Magister Remuliad."

Speaking softly to a mountain path, Remuliad exclaims, "You won't fool me!"

Enisius asks, "Your expertise is mana storms?"

Lylia says, "I know little about that. I do know they are not removable by normal means. Limb removal; full-thickness burns with acid, fire, or balefire; purgatives; flensing; poisoning..." She trails off. "Or at least, nothing I tried removed them. I am interested in learning what worked."

Enisius says, "It should not be painful, the watch rooms."

Remuliad softly says, "I... well yes. Since the one that came near Torre I have been studying some of them. Mostly their effect on the wildlife exposed for prolonged periods of time."

Leafiara says, "Should is always a fun word."

Enisius says, "I can try to...create some luxuries or comforts while within."

Remuliad softly asks, "Have you ever seen the thraks on Teras?"

Remuliad softly exclaims, "They are red!"

Enisius says, "Fascinating..."

Enisius sighs.

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "A unique point of this storm - under very specific conditions, this storm can be quite stable and quite potent. Melgorehn's temporal construct allows us to visit those conditions far more often than we would be able to naturally. It will also give us a valuable opportunity to observe it under... accelerated conditions."

Enisius shrugs at Raelee.

Speaking to Remuliad, Tayler says, "That's because they're covered with lava, usually."

Speaking dubiously to Enisius, Raelee asks, "Luxuries?"

Speaking uncertainly to Enisius, Raelee asks, "Such as?"

Speaking to Enisius, Emmeranne asks, "Are you sdgestingthose with these scarabs sit in a glass cage so you can see what recations happen?"

Goldstr exclaims, "Ye magickers Be verra Careful rounds da Reach!"

Missoni hopefully asks, "Snacks?"

Enisius says, "Instead of staring at a wall, maybe provide them with an illusion of..."

Remuliad looks thoughtfully at Goldstr.

Enisius says, "Whatever these people enjoy."

Enisius shrugs.

Pookia asks, "Oh well, if theres amenities you're not looking for any control subjects that ARENT infected are ya?"

Emmeranne asks, "These people?"

Raelee says, "Food will be necessary of course. I do not think starving anyone to death is going to provide the answers required."

Speaking to Raelee, Lylia says, "It would be a confounding factor to stress those being observed unduly. Carrying on in a more normal fashion would make sense."

Enisius looks over at Pookia and shakes his head.

Enisius says, "The scarab bearers only."

Tikba mildly says, "We would not enjoy illusions designed for other people."

Speaking to Lylia, Raelee says, "One person's luxury is another's excess."

Xorus says, "Perhaps starve one to death. As a control."

Remuliad softly asks, "This rain is quite stinging. Is it usual for that to happen near this particular storm?"

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "It is a more... regional phenomenon."

Remuliad traces a series of glowing runes while chanting an arcane phrase...

Remuliad gestures.

A translucent sphere forms around Remuliad.

Kelfyr says, "Maybe occasionally we can be taken out for walkies too."

Tikba says, "I fear foul weather is nearly constant in Wehnimer's Landing."

Leafiara says, "The rain is just as stinging back in town."

Speaking to Remuliad, Vaemyr says, "Just pretty typical weather up here."

Tayler says, "Almost always at 2 in the morning, though."

Raelee says, "Voluntary entry and exit is a part of the design. You can take yourself out for such."

Leafiara opines, "I like it, though. Keeps me alert."

Speaking casually to Kelfyr, Kayse asks, "Would be nice to know what samplings are going to be taken too. Would you like to know if a finger or two is going to be removed?"

Rodnay Via Tayler

The air shimmers around Tayler.

The air shimmers around Tayler and ripples unnaturally.

Enisius glances at Tayler.

Tayler cocks his head at Enisius.

Stormyrain casually glances at Tayler.

Remuliad softly says, "I have been fortunate enough to keep busy in the outpost. There is some decent literature to keep myself occupied since my recovery."

Kayse squints at Tayler.

The air shimmers around Tayler and ripples unnaturally.

Tayler blinks.

Stormyrain squints.

Tayler glances between Stormyrain and Kayse.

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "That is what happened to you."

The air shimmers around Tayler and gold and silver motes of light glow behind him.

Tayler asks, "Huh?"

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "When you saw..."

Speaking hopefully to Tayler, Leafiara says, "You, uh... stay over there."

Enisius says, "Do not move."

Enisius nods.

Enisius nods at Tayler.

Speaking to Remuliad, Missoni asks, "You are feeling well, I hope?"

Speaking slowly to Tayler, Stormyrain says, "Yes, stand..still. There are motes around you."

Tayler glances around the area.

Remuliad softly says, "My leg will never be the same. But I am quite alive, and fed."

Speaking carefully to Tayler, Tikba asks, "Have you, perhaps, heard or seen anything unusual, these past few minutes?"

Missoni nods approvingly at Remuliad.

Tayler says, "It is burning me. Please stop them."

Kayse asks, "Rodnay....who is them?"

Leafiara surprisedly says, "Oh, it's Rodnay again."

Tikba carefully says, "We hope to stop them, Rodnay."

Emmeranne exclaims, "Now this is most interesting!"

Raelee asks, "... and what is 'it'?"

Leafiara says, "I thought it would be more like what happened to Tikba..."

Vaemyr says, "We want to stop them, but we don't know whom."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Tayler doppadanger?"

Remuliad softly says, "Burning?! Toss him in the lake, quick."

Enisius asks, "This is the blue boy?"

Kayse asks, "Do not press? Do not push?"

Leafiara says, "If you can't explain who, Rodnay, maybe give us some other way to understand. Your usual metaphors might suffice."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Lylia murmurs, "Rodnay's voice through Tayler's mouth, I believe."

Tikba says, "He prefers other voices."

Emmeranne says, "His name, once again, is Rodnay."

Kayse asks, "No one heard him just now?"

Remuliad glances up.

Leafiara optimistically muses, "Probably enough of us to figure out his metaphors if--"

Speaking dubiously to Kayse, Leafiara says, "Only through Tayler."

Tayler says, "My arms....my legs...my chest...I feel each one."

Tikba says, "And then."

Stormyrain asks, "Scarabs?"

Kayse quotes, "Do not press, do not push, I do not want the fire in you."

Leafiara asks, "He's trying to... protect us?"

Remuliad takes a moment to observe Tayler.

Tikba says, "Protect Kayse."

Kiyna says, "Or perhaps we're hurting him and don't know it."

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara says, "That would make sense."

Emmeranne asks, "Is wearing any of that magic metal you all were talking about earlier?"

A mottled grey ragamuffin cat hisses at the deep red dog.

Remuliad finds the cat agreeable.

Kayse acts puzzled.

Tayler says, "Extinguish."

Missoni curiously asks, "How?"

Enisius glances at Tayler.

Leafiara asks, "Where? How?"

Enisius asks, "What madness is the boy referencing?"

Speaking to a lazy wild deep red dog, Emmeranne asks, "What do you want?"

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse says, "We do not know."

Kayse says, "Something is hurting him."

Kayse says, "And he needs our help."

Kiyna says, "There's something we need to extinguish, then..."

Speaking to Enisius, Lylia says, "He speaks in metaphor, often, and sometimes his meaning is unclear. Well, usually. Pain has made his thoughts disjointed, perhaps."

Speaking to Enisius, Vaemyr says, "Something is affecting the magic in the reach, he's tied to that, and it's affecting him, thus what's happening now."

Manafire Fallout

Tayler says, "It feeds, it sickens. It feeds, it sickens."

Tikba says, "Something may be...attacking him, perhaps within the mountain."

Leafiara says, "Magic that was burning him, at least metaphori--"

Leafiara says, "Well, I guess he's reiterating now."

Tikba thoughtfully says, "It is poisoned."

Vaemyr asks, "Oh so something is draining the magic?"

Leafiara considers, "Hmm... going by that description, it makes me think of the manafires."

Emmeranne asks, "Is something feeding on teh magic within the mountain?"

Enisius peers quizzically at Leafiara.

Leafiara glances at Enisius.

Speaking to Enisius, Leafiara says, "Cordarius'... fires. Surely you've seen them around."

Enisius says, "Yes."

Speaking to Emmeranne, Bellaja says, "That's the question."

Enisius says, "Interesting..."

Leafiara says, "They were established to poison and suppress lingering effects of Raznel's blight."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kayse asks, "The green ones?"

Enisius says, "We cannot simply just...."

Enisius asks, "Can we?"

Leafiara ponders, "That... would explain a lot, actually, about why he was saying it didn't hurt at first, but did later."

Leafiara nods at Kayse.

Enisius says, "No."

Speaking to Kayse, Leafiara says, "Yes, those."

Remuliad softly asks, "This boy, who is blue, is connected to the mana storm somehow?"

Tikba slowly asks, "What would happen if they were extinguished?"

Remuliad brandishes his rune-carved staff at a mountain path, and a tiny little whirlwind roils violently around the path before surging toward him! The whirlwind dances around Remuliad for a moment, and then vanishes into his staff's tip!

Lylia firmly says, "No. That would potentially be catastrophic."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr asks, "Perhaps the blight isn't fully surpressed, but could be seeping into the reach? slowly over time?"

Leafiara says, "Putting out the fires would probably result in mass famine and plague."

Speaking to Tikba, Raelee says, "The blight would return."

Speaking to Tikba, Kiyna says, "The Blight would return, or so I'm told."

Missoni says, "The Ithzir are known to feed on magic, but if they were feeding on poisoned mana..."

Enisius says, "The boy is half human, half Ithzir, or more monster than anything now Magister Remuliad. We do not truly know."

Enisius says, "Some claim ally, some claim threat."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara agrees, "Very possible."

Enisius says, "Claim..."

Tikba mildly says, "One person's ally is another's threat."

Speaking to Enisius, Kiyna says, "Rodnay is an ally."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "That would explain the "she" perhaps then if it was basically Razel's Blight as the root cause."

Enisius says, "I understand your position, yes."

Enisius nods at Kiyna.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Right..."

Lylia says, "Nothing has ever quelled the blight, only forestalled it with these flames. Unless you unravel Raznel's workings, then extinguishing the fires would allow her blight to feed on and sicken everything here."

Kayse asks, "So if it is the fires, there is no other way to contain that?"

Kiyna asks, "Perhaps we need to revisit a way to do so without the fires?"

Emmeranne asks, "Is it a possibility that perhaps some of the fires have extuingished over time?"

Leafiara says, "It's possible Octaven knows more too. When Cordarius created the fires, he was working under her."

Lylia says, "The fires are only one possibility."

Tikba slowly says, "If the blight was contained from all the places the fires were built, but there are no fires along the Reach..."

Leafiara says, "Octaven is also in possession of a bleakstone statue that acted as a catalyst for the blight."

Enisius says, "Octaven is n...."

Enisius says, "Nevermind."

Lylia says, "Octaven should know more about them. She has 'borrowed' the statue that initially contained it."

Vaemyr says, "It might not be the fires themselves, think that when you burn wood it creates smoke, that smoke can stain a wall even damage things over long periods of time. It might be that which is happening here."

Tayler mouths, "Are the motes gone?"

Speaking to Tayler, Tikba says, "We have not seen or heard them for a few moments now."

Speaking to Tayler, Stormyrain says, "For now? But who knows.."

Lylia repeats, "We do not know if the mana-fires have anything to do with what burns Rodnay. They were kindled some time ago, and this burning he describes is new."

Tayler says, "That was... disconcerting."

Speaking to Emmeranne, Leafiara says, "No, the fires are all still burning bright--we can look at them any time. But what Vaemyr said is very much a possibility."

Kayse sighs, "It seems impossible to figure out without knowing more. I asked him to try and elaborate."

Vaemyr says, "It's something we can at least investigate, a lead perhaps."

Leafiara says, "At risk of sounding like Raelee... when the source is unknown, explore many options and experiment."

Speaking to Kayse, Kiyna says, "I wish he could explain it better... but it's clear he's in pain..."

Bellaja whispers something to Tayler.

Raelee mentions, "And burning is not always so... literal. There are many sources of 'burning' sensations."

Kayse blinks.

Emmeranne says, "Like poisen."

Kayse says, "I see.. wisps of sickly-green flames...."

Tayler whispers something to Bellaja.

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "Sounding like me should not be considered a risk. If only more of you would..."

Speaking to Kayse, Leafiara says, "Well, that seems to verify then..."

Sickly green light glows in Tayler's eyes.

Remuliad softly says, "Fire is not the only thing that burns. Have you ever seen what acid can do to a perfectly good wand? Oh I wish had not dropped that wand in the sulfur pit, it was my favorite wand."

Kayse says, "It was brief--but..."

Kiyna asks, "He's reinforcing the mental image of the manafires?"

Speaking to Tayler, Stormyrain murmurs, "No, not done apparently."

Vaemyr says, "Look at Tayler's eyes for a moment..."

Making a Move

Enisius asks, "Then if the manafires are left unchanged, they would likely continue to poison this blue boy?"

(Tayler freezes up, his eyes shifting around the area warily.)

Leafiara asks, "Where are the fires again? If I recall, near Darkstone, one in Danjirland, one at the glacier... and two others?"

Stormyrain says, "Seems so, yes."

Speaking to Enisius, Vaemyr says, "Probably, and could cause the reach itself to become unstable."

Tikba uncertainly asks, "They are green. Have they not always been green?"

Lylia says, "They have."

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara says, "They've always been green."

Raelee bluntly says, "Fine. We cure the blight this time instead of repressing it."

Xorus says, "At the various bone pillars."

Enisius nods at Vaemyr.

Kayse says, "We have to at least try to do something."

Enisius says, "Then he should be moved."

Enisius says, "We should begin preparations."

Enisius nods at Raelee.

Enisius nods at Remuliad.

Lylia says, "Curing the blight was always the hope."

Remuliad nods in agreement.

Speaking to Enisius, Raelee says, "I already have."

Stormyrain asks, "Who should be moved?"

Kayse says, "We do not really know where on the Reach he is."

Speaking to Enisius, Kiyna says, "Since I know Rodnay's wellbeing isn't your priority, it could be poisoning the reach, too. These motes could be the wail and whine of the mountain."

Stormyrain glances at Enisius.

Enisius says, "The boy."

Vaemyr says, "Well we can't estinguish the fires, but, Cordarius is still in Elidal's court, we can hopefully figure out some solution, modifications perhaps."

Stormyrain asks, "So, remove him from his home--to where?"

Tikba asks, "And how?"

Speaking to Enisius, Raelee says, "Repressing the blight was never our plan. It was merely... what we were able to do with the time constraints we had. Curing it was always the plan. This is not research starting anew."

Stormyrain folds her hands behind her back.

Enisius says, "Unknown, unknown."

Lylia nods in agreement at Raelee.

Lylia says, "Yes. Too many unknowns."

Leafiara says, "He moved to the Reach because he needed stronger energy to feed on than what he'd been feeding on before. Finding something on level with the Reach is..."

Speaking firmly to Enisius, Kayse says, "That needs to be figured out. I do not want him harmed or captured for studying. He is a citizen of Wehnimer's Landing."

Leafiara concludes, "A challenge."

Speaking to Leafiara, Tikba suggests, "There is another mana storm quite nearby."

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse cautions, "The Hall already tried to claim him once, it did not go well for them."

Stormyrain asks, "I'm not sure moving him is the answer, over attempting to remove the need for the pillars?"

Remuliad softly says, "I have heard of blights in forests and other regions. Perhaps if we study their nature, it might give us some clues. Although, they have never been cured either."

Remuliad rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Enisius says, "I did not say claim him."

Remuliad shakes his head.

Enisius says, "I am fully aware of your attachment as a people to it."

Kayse corrects, "Him."

Emmeranne says, "He is not an it."

Enisius sighs.

Enisius says, "Him."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Lylia says, "Yes, the way you put that is apt: 'removing the need for the pillars.' Not removing the pillars, or the flames, until there is some means of repressing or destroying the blight more permanently."

Raelee reminds, "Grand Magisters do have the latitude to act independently. Not all that they do is funneled down from the Royal Magister."

Leafiara says, "If anything, by now he's almost more of a they."

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse asks, "Would you care to write it down?"

Kayse offers Enisius a vibrant peacock feather quill.

Kayse adds, "And his name."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Deez pronoun sho confoozlin."

Speaking to Remuliad, Lylia says, "I would like to hear more of what you know of these other blights."

Enisius glances at Kayse.

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara clarifies, "As in... multiples of him."

Kayse stares at Enisius.

Leafiara says, "Even Rodnay referred to himself as 'we' at one point a few years back."

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee asks, "Were any of them... purposefully created as this one was?"

Nyaria quietly asks, "Thats a bad thing?"

Tikba says, "If he is ill, then moving him from the Reach might endanger him."

Enisius says, "....and not might endanger us."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Do da greater good option."

Speaking to Raelee, Missoni offers, "There was a Sister of the Blight active here perhaps twenty years ago, but destroying her removed the blight."

Kayse says, "I can keep him calm and focused."

Bellaja asks, "You mean movig Rodnay, not Tayler.\. Right?"

Enisius says, "If we are to experiment with ways to ease his sickness or snuff out the manafires, it may be in our best interest not to have the boy attached to the Reach."

Speaking to Enisius, Kiyna says, "He could be the last thing protecting it."

Tayler says, "Infect you...do not press, do not push...will not let them in..."

Leafiara says, "This sounds like a plan with myriad challenges, to say the least. It's not even entirely clear he's in full control of his own powers at the moment, so moving him--"

Lylia says, "The issue there is that the attachment is more than just metaphorical, potentially. He is cocooned in it. We do not know to what extent he is a part of it."

Kayse says, "I asked him how the fires would hurt me."

Remuliad softly says, "Every mana storm I've encountered or studied has been anchored to great power, and often beyond what we believe to comprehend. Simple observation may not be enough to learn of its nature. It may require sacrifice, and an understanding that interfering with its source could be disasterous."

Kayse thoughtfully says, "Hmmm."

Enisius leans in and whispers to Raelee and Remuliad.

Leafiara says, "Maybe we could try communicating with that tree again."

Kayse cocks her head at Leafiara.

Remuliad softly asks, "You all have another town to live in, yes?"

Leafiara says, "...as crazy as I realize that will sound to those who weren't there to know what I'm talking about..."

Remuliad nods approvingly at Enisius.

Emmeranne asks, "Sacrafice? in what mabber? are you sudgestingthat you will volunteer for such an activity?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Pookia says, "Sounds totally normal to me."

Speaking to Kayse, Leafiara says, "We once talked with a tree infected by the blight and it sort of... expressed its desire to live, spread, and exist."

Enisius nods at Raelee.

Speaking to Remuliad, Kiyna says, "I'm afraid not."

Tayler asks, "Was the tree Ivasian?"

Speaking to Tayler, Kayse apologizes, "Sorry for this, but he seems to be speaking through you mostly...."

Speaking to Tayler, Kayse asks, "Rodnay, are you even strong enough to be moved? To remove you from the Reach?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Treesh invadin?"

Speaking to Tayler, Leafiara jests, "No, it only had a hair from Ysharra, not from her daughter..."

Speaking to Tayler, Bellaja says, "One could only hope."

Tikba evenly says, "Some things desire to live that should not."

Vaemyr says, "Blights, traditional ones, really can only be delt with by isolating and destroying everything infected, and even then they can return and spread very quickly."

Speaking curiously to Leafiara, Missoni says, "Was it a treent? We met a few of their people, as well."

Speaking softly to Enisius, Remuliad says, "I am quite ready to take record and note any experimental results, when the time comes."

Speaking to Missoni, Leafiara says, "No, just a normal tree rendered a bit... rotted."

Enisius nods at Remuliad.

Speaking dryly to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "I am not opposed."

Remuliad softly says, "The Hall should be informed, once our study is complete."'

Enisius asks, "Would the bane coffins contain the boy? Have they ever?"

Enisius peers quizzically at Raelee.

Xorus says, "It was the blight itself, with some degree of self-awareness. It referred to itself as 'the Bleak.'."

Speaking to Enisius, Raelee says, "At this point, I am skeptical they would be strong enough."

Kayse flatly says, "They have and he is not going in one."

Leafiara says, "Last time he was in a bane coffin, his magic still leaked out and blew up many mages' heads in the outpost."

Enisius says, "Oh."

Leafiara speculates, "He's probably only grown more powerful since then."

Speaking to Xorus, Missoni asks, "The tree was the blight?"

Kayse says, "He was still able to touch my mind from it."

Enisius gulps.

Remuliad softly says, "Tampering with a mana storm, you might need more than one coffin."

Enisius says, "I see."

Enisius says, "No coffin."

Xorus says, "The blight is all around."

Kelfyr says, "Oh, let's not rule it out too quickly."

Kelfyr says, "You know, for the data and all."

Missoni asks, "Well, yes, but the tree was speaking for the blight?"

Speaking softly to Kelfyr, Remuliad says, "A volunteer has spoken."

Tikba carefully says, "That which cannot be contained or destroyed must be persuaded."

Speaking steadily to Enisius, Kayse asks, "I believe I can keep him calm and focused but I do not want him harmed or kept prisoner. Is this a deal you can make or do I need to go to your brother?"

Vaemyr says, "I still think the right thing to do, if the fires and blight are the cause, is to focus on those potentially first, if we can reverse or stop this "sickness" that's happening, then the Reach should heal over time I would think."

Speaking to Missoni, Leafiara says, "Yes, because it was infected... it was very vague, though."

Enisius asks, "The Reach has had historical moments of gateway abilities, has it not?"

Lylia says, "There is so much speculation going on that we are leaping from conclusion to conclusion without any sense of where they are rooted, or how securely."

Enisius says, "I wonder then if..."

Enisius ponders.

Speaking to Remuliad, Kelfyr asks, "Maybe we get a few more from the hall, put you at various distances from it, see how far the effect is?"

Remuliad softly asks, "Why would we risk trained Magisters, when we have you?"

Remuliad takes a moment to observe Kelfyr.

Kelfyr says, "While we're running experiments, anyway."

Speaking to Lylia, Missoni whispers aloud, "Pun intended?"

Enisius says, "I have no desire to keep your blue boy as a prize or prisoner."

Speaking to Remuliad, Emmeranne says, "Becasue you would have to deal with her."

Enisius nods at Kayse.

Emmeranne beckons Stormyrain closer with a slow curl of her forefinger.

Emmeranne says, "And you do not want that."

Speaking to Missoni, Lylia says, "Definitely."

Tayler asks, "Is this... something this, Rodney, does often? Speaking through others?"

Enisius says, "What if..."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We shaved yoo life Remuliad, ye should be more grateful den to want sackafice Kelfy."

Tayler asks, "No long term effects?"

Enisius says, "Instead of carving him out, we just slide him."

Enisius ponders.

Speaking to Tayler, Stormyrain says, "None..so far."

Speaking to Tayler, Emmeranne says, "Maybe just a few, nothing to be worried about I am sure."

Speaking to Tayler, Leafiara says, "Well... sort of? He always could, but less so when he wasn't sick and could just speak directly to our minds."

Speaking uncertainly to Enisius, Tikba asks, "Slide him where?"

Speaking drunkenly to Kelfyr, Gutstorm whispers aloud, "Me gotchoo back."

Enisius says, "Yes."

Enisius nods at Tikba.

Enisius says, "Precisely."

Speaking softly to Gutstorm, Remuliad says, "I don't want to sacrifice anyone. I had no intention of causing anyone harm."

Kayse repeats, "Slide him? What does that even mean?"

Enisius says, "The Harrowers will open a tome of destinations if you asked what lies beyond here."

Lylia says, "Yes, although I wish we could hear him more directly. I do not know if he is difficult to understand more fully because he is using the thoughts in another person's head to construct his own thoughts."

Leafiara honestly says, "If you're suggesting extracting an entire portion of the Reach to temporally displace it and then put it back later, I--wouldn't even know what to say to that, truthfully."

Speaking to Remuliad, Kelfyr says, "Speaking of intentions, I do wonder what the intention was behind your being kidnapped, then brought right outside the place where your knowledge was in high demand."

Enisius says, "Not the Reach."

Speaking to Remuliad, Kelfyr says, "Funny coincidence, that."

Remuliad softly says, "While I respect the rites of Amasalen's followers, I don't practice them or intend to be part of such a ceremony."

Enisius says, "Displace the boy elsewhere."

Enisius nods at Leafiara.

Kayse stares at Enisius.

Enisius says, "Safely."

Enisius shrugs at Kayse.

Kayse asks, "Like banish him away?"

Enisius says, "That is a strong word."

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Enisius, Leafiara says, "How would that be sufficient? If he needs the energy of the Reach to survive on, a portion of the mountain or at least its energy would have to go with him."

Tikba mildly asks, "And return him equally safely?"

Leafiara furros her brow.

Stormyrain repeats, "Voluntarily?"

Speaking to Kayse, Emmeranne says, "Sounds like that is what hes saying."

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse asks, "Yes, but is it the RIGHT one?"

Speaking to Enisius, Vaemyr says, "What would that even accomplish? If what is causing him pain is the underlyning condition of the Reach, then this is a problem we need to fix, not just remove the warning alarm that's screaming at us so we can go along without the noise..."

Speaking to Enisius, Stormyrain asks, "Anything that is done to Rodnay would be done with his agreement yes? As it should be?"

Leafiara says, "...also, I meant spatially displace, not temporally. Pardon, it's late."

Leafiara chuckles.

Enisius asks, "What is more important? Keeping everyone safe, or making sure the boy still has four full meals a day?"

Speaking in Faendryl, Tayler says something you don't understand.

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse says, "Both."

Enisius says, "We must prioritize and there may need to be a sacrifice."

Leafiara says, "If we aren't keeping him safe, then it's not 'everyone'."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Da firsht option."

Speaking carefully to Kayse, Missoni asks, "What if taking him away from the poisoned mana temporarily, while the blight is abolished, would help him?"

Speaking to Enisius, Stormyrain says, "The rights of the individual are as important as the rights of the town."

Stormyrain agrees with Leafiara.

Stormyrain agrees with Kayse.

Vaemyr agrees with Stormyrain.

Speaking softly to Kayse, Remuliad asks, "I'm a bit deaf in this ear, can you say that again?"

Remuliad softly asks, "Did you say you want a boat?"

Speaking to Enisius, Kiyna says, "We know nearly nothing and you are jumping as quickly on sacrifice as possible."

Speaking to Enisius, Kayse says, "I will not accept that after everything he has done for our town."

Remuliad scratches his ear.

Remuliad mutters something about cannons.

Speaking in Faendryl, Lylia says something you don't understand.

Speaking firmly to Enisius, Tikba says, "To choose to sacrifice is not the same as to be chosen."

Speaking to Missoni, Kayse counters, "What if we can't bring him back?"

Enisius says, "Removing him from something that is poisoning him, is an act of kindness."

Raelee wearily says, "Sacrifice is not always a knife in the heart on an altar. Sometimes it is just... missing breakfast."

Stormyrain says, "Not if it ends him."

Speaking to Kayse, Missoni says, "I do not see why we could not."

Raelee nods at Enisius.

Speaking loudly to Remuliad, Tayler says, "Two, with Pylon weaponry."

Enisius agrees with Raelee.

Speaking to Enisius, Emmeranne says, "Unless we can cure the posien."

Speaking to Enisius, Leafiara says, "That would be for him to judge."

Tikba mildly says, "Let us begin by asking Rodnay what he is prepared to sacrifice."

Speaking to Missoni, Kayse says, "If the fires are still here, then the problem will remain the same."

Enisius says, "I am not suggesting we starve the creature to death."

Leafiara says, "Which goes to the marshal's point about this being voluntary."

Speaking to Kayse, Missoni says, "Unless perhaps we were unsuccessful in removing the blight."

Speaking to Kayse, Lylia asks, "Is there a way to speak to Rodnay more directly? To know more?"

Speaking to Enisius, Raelee says, "And that is an important point. If something in the Reach is harming him, removing him from the Reach might actually be in his genuine best interest."

Speaking mildly to Enisius, Tikba says, "Rodnay."

Lylia says, "Right now, we are unmoored."

Enisius nods at Raelee.

Speaking to Lylia, Kayse says, "I reach out to him through my thoughts and he sometimes responds."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "No Tayler get a say?"

Speaking to Raelee, Stormyrain says, "Excellent, so we offer him that path and if he chooses it we proceed."

Raelee says, "He may be getting his proverbial full three meals... but those meals are all poisoned. Better two meals without poison than three with."

Speaking to Enisius, Emmeranne says, "R O D N A Y, say it with me."

Lylia says, "I understand. I just..."

Speaking to Raelee, Kelfyr asks, "And would sure be convenient for the new leaseholders, wouldn't it?"

The shimmering multicolored sphere fades from around Remuliad.

Remuliad just arrived. Wait, wasn't he here already?

Remuliad no longer bristles with energy.

Remuliad seems a bit less imposing.

Remuliad appears somehow different.

Remuliad is no longer protected by the shimmering field of energy.

The glowing specks of energy surrounding Remuliad suddenly shoot off in all directions, then quickly fade away.

The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves Remuliad.

Remuliad glances around, looking a bit less confident.

The brilliant luminescence fades from around Remuliad.

The bright luminescence fades from around Remuliad.

The silvery luminescence fades from around Remuliad.

Remuliad gasps.

Enisius says, "I think it is naive to believe that we can take perfect action and be chained to the boy's explicit permission beforehand."

Speaking helpfully to Remuliad, Leafiara suggests, "The invoker returns in about an hour."

Remuliad summons a torrent of elemental mana and releases upon himself a flurry of abjurations.

Kayse flatly says, "I asked him."

Enisius says, "To do so limits the outcomes and options."

Speaking to Enisius, Vaemyr says, "I'm not even sure if removing him would reove his connection either, appoligies if I'm wrong, but I feel like you have other motives for wanting him removed."

Speaking mildly to Enisius, Tikba agrees, "Yes."

Speaking irritatedly to Kelfyr, Raelee says, "Not everything we do is about some form of power struggle. Some times... we are just trying to do... our... work."

Speaking bluntly to Enisius, Stormyrain says, "Exactly."

Enisius says, "It is all speculation, even on my end."

Enisius nods at Vaemyr.

Enisius says, "I could be wrong in all things mentioned."

Enisius says, "Unlikely, but possible."

Lylia says, "I wish there were a better way of knowing what he means when he says 'it burns.' We could put out the blightfires and move the peak of the Reach and still hear that 'it burns' because we never addressed the actual problem of some extraplanar danger pressing in on him."

Tikba says, "Indeed, since we have not even the ability to move or control him without his permission."

Kayse says, "He said last time it is hurting him. He is in pain."

Speaking to Enisius, Leafiara says, "Doesn't need to be perfect action. A good one will suffice. And, in any case, a move that involves doing something against his will couldn't be perfect in the first place."

Kelfyr says, "I'm still curious about the first time he visted."

Kelfyr says, "Visited."

Kayse observes, "He did not seem sick then."

Kelfyr says, "He did not."

Speaking to Remuliad, Emmeranne asks, "Did you enjoy getting taken without your permission?"

Enisius asks, "Thoughts, third Magister?"

Enisius peers quizzically at Remuliad.

Kelfyr says, "And he had some rather interesting observations at that time."

Enisius says, "Ignore that question. Irrevelant."

Enisius nods at Remuliad.

Enisius says, "Answer mine instead."

Kelfyr says, "About the nature of the new residents."

Emmeranne says, "Yeah, answer his instead, becasue you didnt enjoy it, now think of how he will feel if you did to him what was done to you."

Kayse lightly says, "Yes, it seems since Rodnay is getting in the way of the possible research on the Reach--it's just easier to remove him."

Stormyrain asks, "I wonder..does the Green Sister mayhaps have some input on how we may stop the Blight?"

Kelfyr says, "Incredibly convenient solution."

Enisius glances at Kayse.

Kayse chokes out, "Incredibly."

Enisius says, "Nothing about the boy is convenient."

Lylia asks, "...Why are we speaking of removing him at all when we do not know his condition, nor what causes him pain?"

Speaking to Kayse, Bellaja says, "Regardless of that it might be safer for him."

Speaking abruptly to Enisius, Kayse says, "Either has your arrival."

Speaking to Enisius, Emmeranne says, "Ofcourse not cause it interferrres with your research."

Speaking to Lylia, Kelfyr says, "That is a fantastic question."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Leafiara ponders, "Hmm... if I recall, the Green Sisters have been working on the Bleaklands, so she very well might..."

Microstudies

Remuliad softly says, "The nature of the boy, if you want to call this creature a boy, seems rooted in all of this. What does being half-Ithzir and half otherwise yield? We take for granted the nature of our own beings, and the stability of our feet on the ground. Perhaps this being's reality is much different than our own."

Enisius says, "If our research and discovery reveals that removing him from the Reach is more risky than not, then we should heed that and not act to move."

Kayse says, "He has just said it burns all over. I do not think he has control of his powers."

Lylia says, "You do not raise someone before you have checked for bleeding and tied off the wounds. I am not even capable of it and I know this."

Missoni reasonably says, "He does not seem well. I think most were just attempting to find solutions to that problem, which seems to be a symtom of something larger."

Speaking to Leafiara, Stormyrain says, "It certainly seems more in her wheelhouse than the Magister's in terms of cause, effect, and impact."

Kayse adds, "At times."

Enisius says, "This is merely a discussion. A rare event I am told at times."

Speaking to Remuliad, Lylia says, "Indeed. I would imagine his reality is vastly different than our own."

Leafiara asks, "Discussion? Rare? Here?"

Tikba says, "As you say, the first step must be to know more. We cannot begin to act without it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "We haven't jumped to enough conclusions yet."

Remuliad softly asks, "Is there a way to test these motes? You say they come from the creature you called... what was its name?"

Leafiara says, "We can't get past the color of the sky without half an hour of philosophizing."

Speaking to Tikba, Raelee says, "Precisely."

Kayse slowly says, "Rodnay."

Speaking wryly to Tikba, Missoni asks, "So where is this box for me to sit in and eat snacks?"

Remuliad softly asks, "Perhaps we can contain some of them, and see how they react to different types of magic?"

Tayler asks, "Is he half ithzir? Does he fade, like they do?"

Enisius nods at Remuliad.

Speaking to Missoni, Tikba says, "I understood you would need to eat snacks before and after."

Emmeranne says, "Do we have a monk in the house that can tattoo Rodnay's name on their forheads so they remember/."

Speaking drunkenly to Remuliad, Gutstorm slurs, "We should make dem baff in the lake firsht."

Enisius says, "I am tired."

Speaking to Enisius, Vaemyr says, "If Rodnay wishes to leave, then I'll help in any way I can, but only then. Otherwise I will devote my research time to the blight and fires, which seem to be a much more pressing matter."

Remuliad softly asks, "Does anyone have a way to collect insects or other small creatures from the area where this being stays?"

Enisius says, "We'll meet soon on the watch rooms."

Enisius nods at Raelee.

Speaking to Tayler, Leafiara says, "I'm sure he can, but I haven't personally seen it, honestly."

Raelee whispers something to Enisius.

Stormyrain says, "Yes. I can collect insects."

Stormyrain nods at Remuliad.

Speaking to Remuliad, Kiyna says, "Please don't adopt Enisius's bad habits. Rodnay is his name, and he's a citizen of the Landing. We will not brook him being treated like a thing."

Enisius frowns at Raelee.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Rumplesnoots does."

Remuliad softly says, "Perhaps there are some residual effects in the lesser beings to be studied."

Speaking to Remuliad, Stormyrain asks, "Would mail be sufficient for the specimen?"

Speaking to Remuliad, Vaemyr says, "That is a good idea."

Speaking politely to Enisius, Tikba says, "We are grateful for your help in finding a way to understand Rodnay's plight. And, in doing so, we will no doubt discover much about the Reach."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Thish wut crawlin in Kelfy?"

Enisius says, "I do not want to hurt the person you call an ally. I also do not want to hurt everyone else either."

Kelfyr says, "Bigger, and no dots."

Remuliad softly says, "If you have a way to collect the specimens and contain them so whatever may be affecting them will not diminish, that would be suitable. I am uncertain how your mail persons are equipped to handle such a task."

Speaking to Enisius, Leafiara says, "That's understandable."

Stormyrain looks thoughtfully at Remuliad.

Stormyrain nods slowly.

Tikba says, "We are in agreement, then."

Enisius says, "But I am only preparing you for the possibility that the outcome may land within that range somewhere, and difficult decisions may need to be made."

Kayse evenly says, "No agreements, until we have Rodnay's consent or find out more."

Lylia suggests, "Anyone who collects samples should note the time and place of collection."

Leafiara says, "Difficult decisions are a constant in the Landing."

Stormyrain says, "I can capture them, and crystalize them. So they should remain stable during transport."

Speaking to herself, Stormyrain mumbles, "Worth a try, at least."

Speaking softly to Enisius, Remuliad asks, "Would you agree that could be an adequate first step for those who wish to assist?"

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee asks, "You have familiarized yourself with our alchemical laboratory and equipment by now, yes?"

Tikba diplomatically says, "When the time comes for these decisions, they will be made."

Enisius says, "Consent from a creature such as the boy, while under duress, may not represent the most accurate situation."

Enisius nods at Remuliad.

Speaking softly to Raelee, Remuliad says, "In the outpost? Yes, it seems functional enough. I am familiar with such tools."

Leafiara says, "More 'distress' than 'duress,' but yes, I'm sure we understand that."

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "Good."

Xorus asks, "I heard something to the effect that someone was abducted and had their scarab extracted. Where did that happen and what did it?"

Tikba carefully says, "Even those under distress, or duress, may know what is right."

Enisius says, "Magisters, everyone."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "I heard it was Kialeigh who lost the creature infesting her. The circumstances are less well known to me."

Enisius nods.

Magister Enisius just went southwest.

Magister Enisius just arrived.

Enisius clears his throat.

Enisius says, "...goodnight."

Magister Enisius just went southwest.

Remuliad softly says, "It would be crucial to know where each sample was found, and when. The conditions of the storm, any other phenomenon occuring when it was recovered. Sometimes a small detail across many samples is enough to look in a particular direction with such a study."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "One time a shcarab jumped outta box, jumped in me, den Cruxophim grabbed shcroll and blowed off all me limb to remove da shcarab."

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "The cycle."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kiyna says, "Those are different scarabs."

Remuliad turns around.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Oh, me mishtake."

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "The Melgorehn's temporal construction accelerates the lunar cycles on the Reach. They are... important."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kiyna says, "More like this one."

Raelee says, "That data should be recorded."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kelfyr says, "Similar feeling though."

Remuliad nods in agreement.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Didnt Balley have scarab inner?"

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Do you know where Cordarius is staying these days? I would love to potentially know what research he used when creating the fires originally and begin studying that."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Yes."

Remuliad softly says, "I was conducting my research on Teras in a similar manner."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Pukk jokes about it to this day since she constantly wondered why hers was a different color than others'."

Speaking to Xorus, Lylia says, "I would like to hear more of it, but I have not seen Kialeigh to ask her."

Speaking dryly to Vaemyr, Raelee asks, "Do you know who performed all of Cordarius's research?"

Remuliad softly says, "Before it was all ruined by that fool, Bodohal."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr asks, "Guessing you?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "Correct."

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr asks, "Might then I borrow some of those notes then?"

Speaking to Remuliad, Lylia says, "He can pay for some crimes, but not for the lost time and research."

Speaking to Remuliad, Missoni says, "That is truly a loss. I am sorry."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "I can gather them."

Speaking drunkenly to Remuliad, Gutstorm slurs, "Wud Bodohal werken fer yoo?"

Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "For all we know it is these scarabs 'burning' him. This seems potentially relevant."

Speaking quietly in Aelotian to Kayse, Tikba says something you don't understand.

Remuliad stares at Gutstorm.

Speaking to Raelee, Vaemyr says, "Again I feel like I need to understand more before I could even begin to offer any suggestions."

Remuliad splutters.

Remuliad flails his arms about.

As Remuliad brandishes his rune-carved staff at Gutstorm the staff hums with power and a turbulent gust of wind surges around Gutstorm!

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Why yoo on him boat den?"

Speaking frustratedly in Aelotian to Tikba, Kayse says something you don't understand.

Lylia emphatically says, "As relevant as 'maybe trees, maybe fires, maybe ants nipping his toes.'."

For no reason at all Gutstorm suddenly lurches forward into the dirt.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Raelee says, "Reasonable."

Remuliad softly says, "You seem to have fallen on your words."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Emmeranne says, "He was taken by force without his consent, kind of, no wait exactly what he wants to do with Rodnay."

Remuliad softly asks, "How long do you believe it will take to collect samples?"

Remuliad leans on his staff.

Stormyrain says, "I can work on collecting some over the next few late nights."

Stormyrain asks, "If there are others who can collect during the day?"

Speaking in Aelotian to Kayse, Tikba says something you don't understand.

Remuliad softly says, "I have no intention of taking the creature you call Rodnay from anywhere."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Missoni says, "I can collect during the day."

Remuliad softly says, "I don't even know what it looks like."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Emmeranne says, "Sorry, my studies are not with bugs or collecting them, I do appologize."

Speaking to Remuliad, Lylia says, "Neither do we, at this point."

Speaking to Remuliad, Kiyna corrects, "He. Rodnay is a citizen of the Landing."

Speaking to Remuliad, Kayse says, "You are not the only one who can make that decision though."

Remuliad whispers something to Raelee.

Remuliad nods in agreement.

Raelee nods faintly at Remuliad.

Remuliad softly asks, "A day? A week?"

Remuliad peers quizzically at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Remuliad, Kelfyr asks, "You want a longitudinal study, yes?"

Speaking to Remuliad, Leafiara says, "You were the one who suggested collecting at multiple times of the day and under different storm conditions, weren't you? A day doesn't seem enough."

Speaking to Remuliad, Stormyrain says, "More like a week, though you may see some samples come quickly. Kelfyr pointed out that those who can collect during the mornings or day may not be around."

Stormyrain says, "So we can put the word out."

Remuliad nods in agreement.

Lylia says, "So, one question: In all this talk of the blight-fires, has anyone considered that there are still extra-planar beings pushing into this reality from somewhere? These entities that think of themselves as 'us'? This seems relevant too."

Bellaja annoyedly says, "We are sure are asking a lot of questions about a man,or boy... who is going to be forced to be subjected to whatever is dreamed up to figure this out. I'm not sure his citizenship status matters."

Speaking to Lylia, Kelfyr says, "Apparently totally irrelevant."

Speaking to Lylia, Kayse says, "Rodnay described himself as 'us'."

Speaking to Lylia, Xorus says, "That is why I was asking about this scarab extraction I heard of."

Kayse says, "When I asked him about it he said that is what he was now."

Speaking uncertainly to Kayse, Tikba muses, "Us."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "So I think the theory on that, is those are Rodnay's manifestations."

Speaking softly to Raelee, Remuliad asks, "I will leave the study in your hands. You can work with the research team to ensure our information is not compromised?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Lylia, da lasht time ye shumment a demon, it go bad?"

Lylia says, "He did. So did the 'Aelotoi' which were not Aelotoi, I believe."

Speaking to Xorus, Kayse says, "All the information regarding that is--it was moving shadows and a demon."

Remuliad glances between Raelee and Stormyrain.

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "I can."

Speaking to Tikba, Bellaja asks, "Personally of course it does. But.. nothing will saave him this will it?"

Speaking to Bellaja, Leafiara says, "I don't think he's going to be forced into anything. Too many people here would fight that tooth and nail."

Speaking to Kayse, Kelfyr says, "One which took her form."

Speaking softly to Stormyrain, Remuliad asks, "Can you work with Magister Raelee on this?"

Speaking to Bellaja, Tikba says, "We do not know yet, I fear."

Speaking to Lylia, Missoni says, "The Aelotoi may have been him, as well."

Speaking vaguely to Gutstorm, Lylia says, "I was not attempting to summon a demon."

Speaking to Remuliad, Stormyrain says, "With pleasure."

Speaking to Raelee, Stormyrain asks, "How would you like to receive the specimens?"

Stormyrain asks, "Mail? Personally?"

Xorus asks, "It was taken out by one of these doppelganger manifestations?"

Kayse speculates, "I thought all the odd moments that happened are his powers out of control--it's possible it could be something else."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Raelee says, "Either will be acceptable."

Speaking to Raelee, Stormyrain says, "We will be asking others to gather also, at different time points."

Speaking to Xorus, Kayse asks, "Yes, it sucked it out of her neck with her tongue--I guess?"

Speaking to Kayse, Leafiara says, "I took it that way too, but it's very hard to write anything off with... well, this mountain."

Xorus asks, "Where? In town?"

Remuliad softly says, "This is a good step in the right direction I believe. Mana storms often have a cascade of effects on the environments around them, and this is likely no different."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Only if there were litterally no other choice, and I think Rodnay himself would agree to be moved if he thought he was going to destroy us all, so that is kinda my bar to go on. Until then I want to try and solve the underlying problem."

Speaking to Xorus, Kelfyr says, "Kialeigh was the host. She could provide a first-hand accounting."

Remuliad softly says, "I do hope our research gives us some insight into how to proceed. I will not even suggest what the outcome may be, or the fate of this one you call Rodnay."

Remuliad softly asks, "But if the research points a direction, you will accept that?"

Remuliad raises an eyebrow.

Vaemyr says, "I'm also not sure that Rodnay's not still protecting us, potentially from something worse. And removing him just makes this situation much much worse."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Even if there were literally no other choice, I'm not sure this crowd would agree. Considering how vociferous we were about Thadston's plan with Casiphia..."

Tikba wryly says, "If the one we call Remuliad makes a discovery I am sure we will be glad to know what must be done."

Speaking to Remuliad, Stormyrain says, "The direction, yes. But consent is not something that I, personally, am willing to move forward without."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "...case in point."

Remuliad can offer Tikba only a blank expression.

Tikba smiles at Remuliad.

Remuliad softly says, "I am not speaking of taking action. Only to accept the results."

Speaking to Remuliad, Kayse says, "I suppose, but research can sometimes have multiple outcomes, so why don't we try to see if one exists where it doesn't end in sacrificing someone."

Tikba nods in agreement at Remuliad.

Remuliad softly says, "You may not like them, or you may. Not everything is so predictable when it comes to research, especially concerning mana storms."

Lylia adds, "And let us not make the initiate's mistake of conducting research to prove a foregone conclusion."

Stormyrain says, "I am willing to weigh the results, consider the study, and make any decisions on outcomes from there."

Remuliad nods in agreement.

Remuliad softly says, "That is well enough for me."

Tikba says, "I meant it. We will be glad to have proposals, instead of merely possibilities."

Remuliad softly says, "I will assist as needed then."

Remuliad softly says, "Magister Raelee can inform us when enough samples are collected."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We will inform da Hall!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I think I didn't get accross no other choice, I mean everyone else is going to die permently and there is no more landing vs having to remove him choice. If other's want to go to oblivion if something terrible like that happens, then so be it, but I don't think Rodnay would ever want that to happen."

Lylia says, "There seem to be far more relevant questions being asked here than 'should we move Rodnay,' including 'Did a woman's evil twin from an extraplanar rift suck a bug out of her neck' and 'So, how about those tears in reality, hmm?'."

As Remuliad raises his rune-carved staff overhead, chaotic ripples of scintillating energy coil outward from its tip and spiral sinuously down its length! The scintillating white light surrounding Remuliad's staff suddenly flickers and fades!

Reaching over his shoulder, Remuliad secures his rune-carved staff into a series of straps on the back of his rugged leather bandolier.

Speaking amusedly to Lylia, Tikba says, "My understanding was that the answers were 'yes' and 'they are concerning.'."

Remuliad softly says, "I am going to see that we have everything ready in the laboratory then."

Leafiara admits, "I'm definitely curious about the grey she-demon or whatever it was Kialeigh referred to sucking the scarab out of her."

Speaking to Remuliad, Missoni wishes, "Enjoy your evening."

Remuliad softly says, "Enjoy collecting the bugs."

Speaking to Lylia, Vaemyr says, "From the story, it also sounded like the removing had connections to the bleaklands, so it could be connected."

Lylia says, "I so wish she were here tonight! I have only heard tales of tales."

Remuliad smiles.

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "Be careful with the..."

Speaking to Remuliad, Raelee says, "... you know what I mean."

Speaking to Remuliad, Lylia says, "Goodnight to you."

Remuliad nods once at Raelee.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara acknowledges, "...that would explain the color..."

Remuliad softly says, "Magister. Everyone."

Speaking to Remuliad, Lylia says, "It is good to see you out and about and more clear-headed."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Assuming I'm even remembering correctly what she described."

Magister Remuliad just limped southwest.

Discussion Afterward

Xorus says, "The Bleaklands is temporally warped. The Reach's storming has affected out there in the past. When Dennet was out there in 5117."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Imma be in Zug Loloff tomorrow collecting bugsh wit Rumplesnoot."

Missoni says, "I suppose I ought to rest as well. Goodnight, everyone."

Lylia says, "Rest well."

Xorus says, "And we have plenty of experience with doppelgangers from that place."

Speaking to Lylia, Raelee says, "Unlikely."

Pookia proclaims, "Done stayin still!"

Vaemyr says, "Kialeigh basically mentioned that she was taken to the bleaklands and the bone demon? thing? removed it then and she was wisked back. I was not there, so I really don't know much more."

Kiyna says, "The less I know about that, the better."

Lylia says, "It could be vital to know more about it."

Tikba wryly says, "I was whisked away, but I have returned to say good night, my friends."

Speaking unhelpfully to Kiyna, Leafiara says, "Well, do let us know if you get carted off through space through to the Bleaklands and back..."

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "Gives hints of removing them without needing to go through that process."

Speaking to Tikba, Lylia says, "Not whisked to the Bleaklands, I hope."

Speaking amusedly to Lylia, Tikba says, "Not this time."

Kiyna says, "As far as these 'watch rooms' Enisius mentioned..."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "Rest well."

Xorus says, "The blight is certainly not a separate matter, after all, from the Bleaklands."

The Stormyrain disk arrives in the room, shivering violently. It then disintegrates, dropping a plain wooden coffer on the ground.

With a discerning eye, Leafiara gathers up one item and casually stows it away.

Kiyna says, "Frankly, this infernal insect has been living inside my body so long that I'm not sure how I could feel any more defiled."

Lylia says, "They are intimately connected. Remuliad noted this as well."

Speaking offhandedly to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Beatcha to it."

Speaking to Leafiara, Emmeranne says, "You forgot the magic words."

Stormyrain just arrived.

Kiyna says, "If it might help, I'm interested in sitting in Enisius's stupid box."

Leafiara's face turns slightly pale.

Leafiara shields her cherry red cloak with one hand as she retrieves a plain wooden coffer from within the cloak.

Leafiara offers Stormyrain a plain wooden coffer.

Stormyrain accepts Leafiara's wooden coffer.

Stormyrain tucks a plain wooden coffer into one of the large pouches lining the inside of her ebon lambskin jacket.

Vaemyr asks, "Whatever happened to the bleakstone statue? Did we ever find it after it was taken?"

Lylia says, "I hope he will provide books, thus making it more of a smart box."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Octaven presumably still has it."

Lylia stiffly says, "Octaven took it away."

Vaemyr says, "I wonder if it, and the creature inside could be used to remove the scarabs."

Kiyna says, "Isn't that yet another demon? I don't want to talk to a demon."

Emmeranne says, "Well, I have frosties to kill, and knowledge to gain, you all have a good evening."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara says, "More a ghost than a demon."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "Not better."

Vaemyr says, "In fact... hmmm, maybe bleakstone itself might work to transfer the scarabs into, if we could find some."

Leafiara says, "Much to ponder, but I should probably call it a night myself."

Vaemyr says, "Aye I should get some sleep too."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me gonna crash here."
