Step 23

The Symbol of Preservation, governed by Lady Lorminstra, is obtained upon completion of the 23rd step of the Order of Voln. This symbol acts to strengthen the bonds of spirit to body in a target (or oneself), similar to the Cleric Base spell Preservation (305), or the contents of a white flask. Preservation, regardless of the source, is also commonly referred to as 'life keep'.

Using the Symbol of Preservation

Syntax
symbol of preservation (target)
  • The target is optional - use of the symbol without a target will default to oneself.
  • This symbol can even be used when dead, to preserve the souls of the Volner and any group members.
  • This symbol preserves the corpse for 30 seconds per member's rank with a thirteen-minute maximum at mastery.

Favor Cost

THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS

Favor cost is based on the member's level. See Table for specific examples. Each use has a relative favor cost of 6x Symbol of Protection.

Favor Required to Obtain Symbol of Preservation

Formula: 2200 + (( level2 × 40) ÷ 3 )
Ex. level 15 member: 2200 + ((15 × 15 × 40) ÷ 3) = 5200 favor
Ex. level 20 member: 2200 + ((20 × 20 × 40) ÷ 3) = 7533 favor
