Synopsis

Judge Manard comes to announce his ruling on the so-called Trial of the Rooks outside Moot Hall. He says he's listened to nights of trial, received countless letters of reference on behalf of or against, and weighed all events. He says it's important not to let emotions dictate what is right, wrong, and allowed, but it's not to say that the world isn't painted in shades of grey. He draws an example of a boy justifying stealing bread to feed his mother, saying a low was broken, but rhetorically asks if we're a people only of law and rigid lines who suffer no compassion. He says that's not for him to answer publicly nor in these matters.

Manard says some will claim he wasn't appointed properly and is riddled with strings, but he's here to do his job of interpreting the laws, decide innocence or guilt, and decide consequences of the latter. He notes that although it might have come across like an organization on trial, it was actually individuals. He rules:

  • All defendants not guilty of Hooliganism, with no evidence of purposely endangering the town.
  • All defendants not guilty of Endangering Public Safety, with ample evidence that they've defended town from enemies large and small but no evidence that they endangered the public.
  • All defendants not guilty of Treason, with no evidence that any actions they took were for the purpose of undermining the town or overthrowing its leaders and government. He says membership within the Rooks while holding an elected position doesn't constitute treason and, if the populace doesn't wish the two to co-exist, then vote them out.
  • All defendants guilty of Disturbing the Peace, as their actions created conflict, even if involuntarily. His sentence is one week of jail.
  • All defendants except Councilor Kayse guilty of Impropriety and Conspiracy for undergoing secret operations not sanctioned by Mayor Thadston, Marshal Stormyrain, or Steward of the Guard Thrayzar, thus breaking the law and conspiring with a criminal organization to create agreements with an Imperial criminal. His sentence is two years of jail.
  • Regarding the previous, he finds Kayse not guilty due to the Darkstone Bay Consortium assigning her to infiltrate the Rooks. A charity fee has been submitted to the Consortium which will benefit the impoverished, which Amos has agreed to pay, which will settle the debt and punishment for their involvement in Kayse's subterfuge.
  • He agrees to the plea bargain submitted by Mayor Alendrial and Casiphia under which the latter would turn herself in and accept the guilt and punishments of all defendants. Therefore, she has a sentence of ten years and six weeks in jail, which will begin after a proper assessment of her good health.

After Manard leaves, the Ember Vale reivers' emissary Rheshay is spotted in the distance with her mithril claidhmore planted into the ground, signaling parley. By the time Sir Cryheart's group gets there, she's already in a verbal dispute with Nalver about something as he's challenging whether she intends to send warbringers to paint the earth red and she's saying if she wanted to do that, he wouldn't see it coming. Tonight is peace.

Councilor Kiyna asks Rheshay if she also speaks for Tyeid, not just Warchief Haidan; Rheshay seems to imply she doesn't. Rheshay says the reivers have told the Landing their affair is with the Imperial camp, yet the Landing still pours out like red ants to fight; Nazarr and Kelfyr bring up that reivers entered town; Rheshay says anyone who slips beyond their walls deserves what's coming.

Nairena says Tyeid abducted her and asks if Haidan controls Tyeid, while Tikba, Dendum, and Thrassus further elaborate on the situation; Rheshay says they'll address "the Eater," but the Landing stands on no higher ground by continuing to attack the reivers when they're striking at the Empire. She asks if we can at least agree on the krolvin being an enemy now that they've come. Perigourd suggests leaving the Empire alone and we can all live peacefully; Rheshay says there is no peace because the Empire will stretch and stretch until you're no more.

There's movement in the woods. Sir Geijon says the reivers are no friends based on their butchery; Rheshay asks how he can think they're monsters when the Landing freed Tyrrax--then something shoots into her neck. Leafiara, Councilor Vaemyr, Irval, and Dendum seemingly try to unpoison her (OOC note: and can't because they can't cast at a GM NPC, but what we'll really explain it as is...), but Imperial soldiers swarm the area and Commander Sablo marches into view.

Cryheart tells him not to violate the parley, but as Rheshay begins to succumb to the poison, Nalver gets her away to safety! Sablo growls and chases. Via Locate Person spells, it appears that Nalver tries to get Rheshay away from the Voln monastery, but Sablo finds them just outside the Drakes Vanguard headquarters. As people criticize Sablo's move, Nalver brings Rheshay back to Voln again--but Sablo pursues. However, by the time everyone regroups at Voln, Nalver and Rheshay are already gone and Stormy, already having been there, is saying Nalver took her again.

A growling Sablo rushes off while people scatter, but Locate spells no longer work to find Nalver. Eventually Missoni says Winston found them at the Abandoned Inn (OOC note: "Winston" in this case is her own dog, not Walkar's bloodhound). Sablo's soldiers arrive and Rheshay swings, but stumbles and misses in her state. Sablo arrives and knocks out Rheshay, telling her to piss off, then calls Nalver a pissant when this isn't about Icemule; Nalver says Sablo has no jursidiction here. As the soldiers drag Rheshay off, Kelfyr, Cryheart, Missoni, Nazarr, Nairena, Lithyia, Tikba, Stormy, Kiyna, Emperia, and Goldstr criticize Sablo's move. Sablo says they're at war and tells everyone to stop trying to knit socks for every enemy and do their jobs to protect and stop them. Dendum says he's trying, but Sablo keeps moving; Tayler says he's not on Sablo's payroll; Leafi says to stop making an enemy out of every messenger, emissary, and cook.

Cryheart's group looks for Elidal to see if he can be informed, but doesn't find him--and, meanwhile, Samfelt calls for help as he's found discarded weapons and is worried that someone has murdered or taken the barony's soldiers! He's seeking information, so everyone goes to meet him after he divulges that he's near the Drakes Vanguard headquarters. He indicates five voulges left behind, but shatters one of them out of anger. Missoni and Tayler note that there are no bodies; Dendum tells Samfelt "this is not your side of the bridge traitor" (meaning that it's past the drawn boundaries of the barony); Samfelt says he's not a traitor and points his veil iron short sword at him, but Cryheart, Kelfyr, Emperia, Missoni, and others urge peace.

Nairena assures that the Drakes Vanguard protects the Landing and doesn't attack Imperial soldiers; she, Qistra, Leafi, Tayler, and Orgamor show off their insignias as members. Missoni says the lack of remains could mean that Tyeid took them; Samfelt says he feared that was a possibility, but it seems his honor is a jest and so were the lives of these men, then says who anyone is to challenge his honor when they hide among thieves and cutthroats. Nairena says she doesn't know Samfelt, yet people speak badly of him and he should prove he's not what others claim him to be; he says they speak ill of him because they're ashamed of their own deeds. He calls them murderers and says maybe Thadston was right about some of them.

People continue to urge calm and press on what's known and not known, focusing on the lack of bodies and no trail to go on other than abandoned weapons that could have been placed in the area afterward. Or this could have been retribution for what Sablo did, or the soldiers could have been kidnapped, or they could have abandoned their duties after seeing what Sablo did, or they could have left to a sauna. Missoni and Samfelt indicate it's unlikely the soldiers abandoned their duties since their families are here. Nairena suggests that Samfelt coordinate with Landing leaders; Samfelt says he doesn't need to because this act wasn't done inside their walls. He says he's not taking the side of the Empire nor the Landing, but that this is a personal matter.

Samfelt says he suspected the reivers since one of the Landing's own went missing, but now he's not sure. (OOC note: unclear who he's referring to or when. Leafi and Vaemyr seem to think Samfelt's talking about Nairena as the one of their own, which would indicate the soldiers disappeared the night before and Samfelt's only just now found the weapons. That seems a little difficult to reconcile, but so does the possibility that he was referring to the same night of finding the weapons since no one disappeared.)

Samfelt asks if no one saw what happened; Irval says he saw it happen and says Gutstorm did it; Guts says Irval's making up stuff and he was with Berost, Dendum, and Liffy (Lithyia); Irval says he watched with happen and Dendum and Lithyia cheered him on. Dendum asks if Irval's saying he saw Gutstorm kill someone right there; Irval says no, outside the gates; Guts says now he knows Irval's making all this up; Irval says it happened where Rheshay was taken by the guards who were killed by Gutstorm. Dendum says Rheshay was taken on the other side of the bridge; Lithyia says what she saw is Sablo act in a disgusting manner; Samfelt says Sablo is Sablo. Kelfyr asks if that's an explanation or an excuse; Samfelt says he's saying the soldiers killed or taken were not Sablo.

Guts says he thinks this was done by Sablo, mad about how things happened and not killing Nalver; Liffy says Irval makes no sense; Dendum asks if Irval's saying Guts killed soldiers and then dragged their weapons to this spot. Irval says he saw Guts kill soldiers; Liffy says Irval's having delusions and Guts says he must have seen another Gutstorm because he hasn't lifted a finger in anger all night. Eventually, people reach the conclusion that Irval's referring to an entirely different group of soldiers anyway.

With nothing clear, Samfelt says he'll had the sad duty to report the soldiers missing for now and hopes they turn up. He fears their families may never know the peace of the truth, so Vaemyr presses again on whan exactly they disappeared. Samfelt says he came looking for them after Sablo was reported to have gone on a fool's errand and the concerned soldiers asked if he could try to intervene as their Emissary, but they've gone missing in their search to find Sablo. Vaemyr asks if they tried to stop Sablo; Samfelt says soldiers don't do that, though following his orders doesn't make them guilty of his actions.

Everyone forms a group to search for traces of the spiders in the Graveyard. They search the Wormwood Slough area and eventually a notice a tiny pale white spider that seems out of place, so they follow it--and eventually hear Drazinoth calling for his spiders to feed! Spiders amass and attack, but the group destroys them all, then comes face to face with Drazinoth. He asks if they're there to renew their faith and says they can turn their back on false promises and join their Arachne temple, where they offer freedom and a chance to unburden themselves of laws and falsehoods.

Samfelt asks Drazinoth what he's done with the soldiers; Drazinoth asks why he'd want soldiers when they're empty sacks of bloodless husks now or perhaps Samfelt is speaking of others. Dendum asks if he took all the blood; Drazinoth says the spiders drink their fill to feed and grow and says people can learn more of their ways by joining the temple. Samfelt says he won't join; Drazinoth says they didn't feed on any soldiers tonight. Samfelt asks what happened to them, then, and Drazinoth will still answer for what he's doing here; Drazinoth says he's allowing his flock to eat and asks who Samfelt is to interrupt when he's a peasant and owns no land. Kiyna asks if he does; he says he's Lord Drazinoth, but sold his wife's land after she passed and says he wishes she were here, but her fate was not to be with him. In pain over his loss, he joined the temple and gave them all he had.

Vaemyr, Leafi, Tikba, Kiyna, Sraven, Irval, Berost, Sir Balantine, and Guts work to disable him--but then Sraven kills him. Before people figure out whether to resurrect him or animate him, his spiders carry off his corpse.

Idle Chatter

[General] Cryheart asks, "Weather up north?"

[travel]

[General] Lithyia thinks, "Well this will make getting back to town difficult for me."

[Town Square Central] This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a blood red teardrop-etched scarab, the sparking Dendum disk, the Eneque disk, the Kelfyr disk, a grizzled porcupine, a sinuous bone white serpent that is sitting, the Ketiosin disk, the granite Sluggard disk, some wolifrew lichen, some beige leggings, some wolifrew lichen, some ambrominas leaf, some ambrominas leaf, some wolifrew lichen, some ambrominas leaf, some ambrominas leaf, the Herod disk, the Ehlron disk, a mushroom and potato cake, the Arahnim disk, some wolifrew lichen, the Littlemelody disk, an old well, some wide stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Seneschal Dendum, Lord Eneque, Kelfyr, Delyorik who is sitting, Lady Adelynn who is sitting, Ketiosin, Ozmet, Sluggard who is sitting, Eleazzar who is sitting, Lord Herod, Grand Lord Arahnim, Ehlron, Sandur who is sitting, Littlemelody

Leafiara says, "Hmm."

Delyorik asks, "Um... no?"

Leafiara thoughtfully says, "Well, this can't be good."

Speaking curiously to Leafiara, Adelynn asks, "What's that?"

Speaking to Adelynn, Leafiara exclaims, "The storms are early!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Delyorik says, "I just got called a champion. All I do is read."

Speaking wryly to Leafiara, Adelynn exclaims, "And I'm already so sleepy!"

Leafiara muses, "Hopefully it's not an indicator of something amiss at the Reach."

Speaking to Delyorik, Sluggard says, "Undefeated reading champ."

Speaking to Sluggard, Delyorik says, "Fine... I'll take it."

Emperia just arrived.

Emperia sighs.

Speaking curiously to Emperia, Leafiara asks, "Anything wrong?"

Delyorik says, "Alright... I'll go play with bandits for a bit... maybe I'll get a fun read from them."

Speaking to Leafiara, Emperia says, "It is raining...again."

Leafiara says, "Oh."

Speaking to Emperia, Leafiara admits, "I like the rain myself, but..."

Thunder rumbles in the distance.

Cryheart says, "Oh..we in the town square."

Adelynn offhandedly remarks, "Conceals illicit activities."

Speaking amusedly to Cryheart, Missoni asks, "You expected otherwise?"

Vaemyr says, "Stormy."

Speaking to Leafiara, Emperia says, "I suppose I am just less accustomed to it."

Cryheart says, "Good landing."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Ketiosin asks, "Free shower?"

Vaemyr says, "Err well not Stormy, but the weather is stormy."

Speaking amusedly to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Yes, we know."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna asks, "The weather is the Marshal?"

Speaking to Niffly, Sluggard says, "Not that I needs 'em, big brain by meself."

Qistra says, "We winneds."

Irval says, "The stones say the communication of energy from the wound..."

Trial of the Rooks: Verdict

A town crier shouts, "Judge Manard will be outside of Moot Hall in a few moments and announce the verdict of the Trial of the Rooks."

Speaking squeakily to Sluggard, Niffly says, "Impressive flexing."

Leafiara sincerely says, "In case I'm banished tonight, it's been a pleasure, all."

Kelfyr asks, "Preemptive?"

Speaking to Kelfyr, Leafiara says, "Around here? Never."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "I didn't think banishment was on the table."

Cryheart says, "Aye."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara ponders, "Oh, right."

Qistra says, "Odds."

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "Well, that wasn't a penalty Thadston was seeking, technically the judge could decide differently if he so thought."

Leafiara muses, "Welll... the rest stands, I guess."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kiyna says, "Fair enough."

Vaemyr says, "But yes, that's pretty unlikely."

[Town Square, East]

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see the Lithyia disk, the driftwood Nalver disk, a grumpy little gremlin, the Sirona disk, the Thyrabos disk, the Herod disk, the seaweed-covered Nalbon disk, an animated broadsword hovering in mid-air, the Arahnim disk, the skull-shaped Irval disk, the Qistra disk, the Archales disk, the Peche disk, the drake-incised Draelor disk, a massive grey wolf, the sparking Dendum disk, the Emperia disk, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, a flame-eyed burnished ember fox, an animated flayed gigas disciple, the Kelfyr disk, the Balantine disk, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild dark grey dog, a grizzled porcupine, a large purple wooden barrel, the Moot Hall, a black imperial wagon with a glowing blue-white pylon on it and obvious signs of someone hiding.

Qistra says, "Gus Behave."

Leafiara amusedly says, "Seeing the crowd tonight makes me think these things should happen at this time of night more often."

Sirona whispers something to Drektor.

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Well it's also the day of the huntress, which more people tend to be around."

Lithyia whispers something to Nalbon.

Nalbon says, "Its just rum."

Vaemyr says, "Ok, regardless of what happens, lets try not to let our Judge get assasinated out here."

Lithyia whispers something to Ithilwyn.

Leafiara agrees, "Definitely not."

Lithyia says, "No promises, Vaemyr."

[General] Nickonai thinks, "Might have to migrate back for the conflict that seems to be coming."

Dendum says, "Eh...did not vote for this judge..."

Leafiara earnestly says, "Ready to grab a hurled orb at any time."

Cryheart says, "Ye dinnae want ye to get more time."

Speaking wryly to Leafiara, Adelynn says, "Don't speak it into existence."

Speaking offhandedly to Adelynn, Leafiara says, "It could happen."

Speaking to Dendum, Kiyna says, "Don't really want our interim Judge assassinated either."

Tikba says, "After all, if he were, we would need an interim interim judge."

Speaking to Archales, Qistra says, "Im all outta pies."

Lithyia says, "You can all get wet...not Miss Lithy though."

Nalbon says, "I keep my liqour in that bottle so others wont drink it."

Dendum taps Leafiara lightly on the shoulder.

Speaking to Nalbon, Kelfyr says, "Prevents askance looks from the night watchman as well."

Speaking curiously to Dendum, Leafiara asks, "Yes?"

Dendum traces a finger along the edge of his collar.

Dendum presses a small button at the back of his copper collar, resulting in numerous gears beginning to articulate rods and plates to surround his head. As the motion settles to a stop, his head is covered by the visage of a copper black-beaked rook.

Emperia says, "...I need a parasol, too."

Leafiara nods approvingly at Dendum.

Dendum presses a small button at the back of his copper collar, resulting in numerous gears beginning to stow away the rods and plates surrounding his head. With a final clank and whine of gears, the collar settles back into stillness.

Qistra says, "Perasols are fer gerlz."

Lithyia says, "Stay under my parasol, Guts."

Qistra says, "Yew need ones Gut."

(Lithyia holds her parasol over her and Gutstorm.)

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr says, "I was waiting for tonight's verdict first, but I'm hoping that Alendrial get's the judge election setup here soonish as well, although will probably be after the council ones I suspect."

Lithyia says, "The rest of you can get wet...sorry."

Speaking amusedly to Qistra, Adelynn asks, "And you're not one?"

Judge Manard walks out of Moot Hall and faces the crowd.

Qistra says, "Me is jes Qis."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "I think she said not until the first of the year."

>l manard

You see the Judge Manard. He looks at you.

Cryheart says, "Evening, your Honor."

Speaking wryly to Qistra, Adelynn says, "Apparently never learned how to talk, either."

Leafiara cheerfully greets, "Good eve!"

Lithyia crankily says, "Terrible weather..suppose it could be worse."

Speaking wryly to Judge Manard, Adelynn asks, "You decided to have us all stand out in the rain to announce this verdict instead of using the perfectly good assembly room in Moot Hall?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ish da town shtill lawlesh?"

Herod says, "I am mot interested in seeing the results..."

Judge Manard clears his throat.

Kiyna says, "Declarations outside Moot Hall is a Landing tradition. Weather's usually rotten. Something poetic in there, maybe."

Judge Manard looks around, "Thank you for coming out in this rain. I will be quick, like justice sometimes."

Delyorik says, "Rain is relative. Probably welcome here."

Irval says, "Beats snow."

Goldstr says, "Evenin."

Rasson says, "Probably a good sign we are not standing outside the north gate."

Speaking to Irval, Adelynn concedes, "I'll give you that."

Cryheart says, "Evening."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "For those interested, Judge Manard is announcing his decision on the trial of the Rooks in front of Moot Hall right now."

Delyorik says, "Nothing beats snow."

Lithyia says, "Oh great... lightning and thunder now."

Judge Manard says, "I have listened to several nights of trial, received countless letters of reference on behalf or against those on trial, and I have taken my time in weighing all events and testimonies."

Speaking to Lithyia, Adelynn teases, "Raise that parasol a little higher, and stand a little closer to Gutstorm."

Dendum asks, "Eh, who wrote all the against letters?"

Dendum asks, "Where is samfelt?"

Judge Manard says, "It is important that in times of not only crisis and danger, but also of peace and order, that we do not let our emotions dictate what is right, what is wrong, and what is allowed."

In a botched imitation, Gutstorm exclaims, "Guilty!"

Gutstorm snaps his fingers.

Speaking to Gutstorm, Delyorik says, "You were never good at that."

Lithyia sarcastically says, "Fraid i cant do that."

Judge Manard says, "But that is not to say our world is not sometimes painted in shades of grey. A boy may justify stealing bread to feed his mother, but the truth that a law was broken still exists."

Judge Manard says, "But are we a people only of law and rigid lines and suffer from no kindness or compassion?"

Thrassus says, "Extenuating circumstances."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "How elsh me gonna shave Leafi if she not guilty."

Delyorik says, "There are times when laws should be bent... but not broken."

Judge Manard says, "That is not for me to answer, not publicly at least, and not in matters such as these." >_error bold in affect at prompt

(Lithyia hurries Axanders towards her parasol.)

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Skip to da bottom?"

Axanders says, "Woah."

Lithyia says, "Stand under here, friend."

Judge Manard says, "Some will claim I am not their Judge and that I was not appointed properly and that I am riddled with strings. But I am here to do my job."

Judge Manard says, "My job is to interpret our laws as they apply to our citizens and our organizations, and to in all ways fairly decide innocence or guilt, and subsequently what consequences would be assigned to the latter."

Adelynn offhandedly remarks, "Strings can always be cut."

Judge Manard says, "While the Parliament of Rooks itself felt like it was on trial, it was in fact several citizens who faced scrutiny for their accused crimes."

Judge Manard says, "When it comes to the charge of Hooliganism, I find the defendants Leafiara, Kiyna, Kayse, Pukk, Chandrellia, and Drektor not guilty. While their actions are questionable, there is no evidence they purposely took action to threaten or endanger the town on purpose."

Nalver says, "You are a hooligan, though."

Speaking quietly to Drektor, Sirona says, "Told ya."

Judge Manard says, "When it comes to the charge of Endangering Public Safety, I find the defendants Leafiara, Kiyna, Kayse, Pukk, Chandrellia and Drektor not guilty. It is without saying that several invasions of our town from enemies large and small have also faced the combined might of these individuals helping to protect our gates and defend the town. That is a stark contrast to the complete lack of evidence provided to justify endangering the public."

Adelynn asks, "Hooliganism?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Adelynn asks, "What on earth did you get up to, and why wasn't I invited?"

Leafiara adds, "...and we're really very good at it too."

Judge Manard says, "When it comes to the charge of treason, I find the defendants Leafiara, Kiyna, Kayse, Pukk, Chandrellia and Drektor not guilty. There is no evidence, only rampant speculation, that any action these individuals took during or before the night of the raid was for the purpose of undermining the town or overthrowing its leaders and government. Membership within the Rooks, and holding an elected position of the town, does not constitute treason. If a populace does not wish for the two to co-exist, then vote them out."

Lithyia quietly says, "Now maybe if Jadedragan would get a trial...since he was banished without one..."

Adelynn incredulously echoes, "Treason?"

Judge Manard says, "When it comes to the charge of Disturbing the Peace, I find the defendants Leafiara, Kiyna, Kayse, Pukk, Chandrellia and Drektor guilty. Without debating intentions and execution, their actions, as members of the Parliament of Rooks, did in fact create situations of conflict and violence, even if involuntarily, which disrupted both peace and order in the town. Evidence has been provided to justify this ruling in the form of testimonies, property damage and unnecessary retaliatory action on the behalf of enemies. Each defendant will serve one week in jail for their crime."

Speaking to Leafiara, Adelynn exclaims, "Now I'm even more disappointed I was left out!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Send em to jail!"

Lithyia asks, "A week in jail?"

Sirona quietly asks, "What peace did they really disturb?"

Archales says, "Those are very tiny cells."

Speaking to Leafiara, Nalver says, "Quick, gimme the deed to yer ship."

Dendum exclaims, "That is a lot for disturbing something that was not there!"

Judge Manard says, "When it comes to the charge of impropriety and conspiracy, I find the defendants Leafiara, Kiyna, Pukk, Chandrellia and Drektor guilty. In a world of laws, intentions do not excuse the order and process in which a town and its leaders operate and protect itself. By undergoing secret operations not sanctioned by the town mayor, marshal, or steward of the guard, the defendants in question chose to break the law and even conspired within a criminal organization to create agreements with an imperial criminal. I find the defendant Kayse not guilty due to her assignment directed upon her by the Darkstone Bay Consortium."

Leafiara says, "Strange, that was about the one I would have least expected."

Cryheart says, "Make sure to take a shower before serving the time."

Judge Manard says, "A charity fee has been submitted to the Consortium, and Lord Amos has agreed to pay it swiftly to which the impoverished of the town will benefit from, which will settle the debt and punishment for the Consortium's involvement in Kayse's subterfuge. The defendants who were found guilty will all serve two years each in jail for their crime."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Kin leafi sherve a shushpenteded shentinch, she takin ush on boat tomorrow." [OOC note: both Nalver and Gutstorm are referencing that Leafi takes the Drakes Vanguard sailing on her man o' war every Feastday except during Duskruin, Ebon Gate merchant week, and large scale auctions.]

Berost deeply asks, "Who be leadin'?"

Leafiara muses, "Well, see you all in two years. And a week."

Judge Manard says, "While this trial was certainly eventful, it became even more unique when Casiphia, often referred to as Mother, volunteered to a plea bargain to turn herself in and accept the guilt of every defendant on trial and subsequently their punishments if found guilty. Under the proposed arrangement established by Mayor Alendrial and Casiphia, while many Rooks were found guilty, their sentences will be compiled and served by Casiphia, for a total of ten years and six weeks in a Wehnimer's Landing jail. Her sentence will begin upon a proper assessment of her good health."

Tikba says, "Ah."

Thrassus says, "That was the proposed deal she wanted."

Speaking to Tikba, Dendum says, ""Amos is terrible at not wasting silvers."

Leafiara says, "Hm."

The Judge looks on the crowd, "That is my ruling. Goodnight."

Archales asks, "10 years?"

Lithyia exclaims, "Still want to know when Jadedragan gets a trial!"

The Judge turns and enters Moot Hall.

Reviewing the Situation

Nalver asks, "And what if the public does not agree with these sentences?"

Sirona quietly says, "That is ...just."

Leafiara perplexedly says, "Okay."

Dendum says, "Maybe when Amos pays someone off in the Hall."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna asks, "What's not to understand?"

Ithilwyn softly asks, "So....Cas is serving them all?"

Lithyia says, "Maybe Amos should strangle himself with that scarf I sent him."

Thrassus says, "That is what Casiphia wanted."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Sho how come Kayse innoshent? Da Darktone Shorshum got no thoritah."

Adelynn says, "That's how it sounds."

Nazarr says, "I've never heard of someone serving time for someone else before."

Speaking to Ithilwyn, Vaemyr says, "That was part of the plea bargain she arranged, and the judge accepted it just now."

Speaking to Kiyna, Leafiara admits, "I'm still not following how we were somehow found not guilty of hooliganism, but guilty of disturbing the peace."

Speaking to Nalver, Kelfyr says, "Vote in the election of the Judge, when it begins."

Leafiara says, "Hooliganism is, like... I mean..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "That puzzles me a bit, too."

Nairena curiously asks, "Whats going on here?"

Leafiara asks, "Almost the entire town is guilty of that?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "It was from Thadston's definition of it, one is based on intent, the other is not."

Cryheart says, "Judge Manar just rendered his judgement from the trial."

Geijon says, "No one was found guilty besides Casiphia."

Cryheart says, "Trials."

Axanders says, "Back to the hunt."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Hoogliginition required the intent to do harm, while the other is if harm was done as a result of actions regardless of intent."

Speaking to Geijon, Kelfyr says, "They were, however a plea bargain was agreed upon."

Speaking to Leafiara, Dendum asks, ""So...who is now mother?"

Nalbon says, "Thats good, for him as well."

Speaking to Leafiara, Nairena asks, "Did you tell them about my abduction and dismemberment?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "Okay... well, in that case, Tyrrax returning is probably a problem."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Geijon says, "I arrived late, but details stand it sounds."

Speaking mildly to Dendum, Tikba says, "Perhaps they will hold a vote."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "I wasn't on that jury."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara agrees, "Neither was I."

Nalbon says, "Glad youre not in jail."

Rheshay's Parley

A flash of lightning illuminates the wooded hills near Darkstone Castle. A lone woman stands at the top of the hillside, a mithril claidhmore before her and wedged into the ground. Rain soaks her tanned skin and bald head.

Speaking to Tikba, Dendum remarks, ""Perhaps...would be helpful to have a Mother to decide one way or the other eh?"

Khiya asks, "Who is that?"

Vaemyr says, "Oh great."

Leafiara curiously says, "Oh, haven't seen her in a while."

Lithyia says, "Heh, I'm not going up there."

Kiyna says, "It's Rheshay."

Cryheart says, "Trouble."

Speaking to Geijon, Kelfyr says, "Five defendents guilty on two counts each, but a plea bargain by Casiphia to serve the time on behalf of those found guilty."

Leafiara recites:

"Everyone join Cryheart?"

Gutstorm recites:

"Do we gotta?"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "Nah, it's still a free town."

[General] Saxson thinks, "Impressive woman."

Cryheart says, "Guess we head to the Wooded hills."

Tikba says, "It is best not to touch the claidhmore."

[General] Rheshay thinks, "Aye, I am, and dinnae ye forget it."

Cryheart says, "All get ready."

[General] Leafiara affably thinks, "We'll be along shortly."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "We shall be coming to speak with ye soonish."

Emperia asks, "Is this woman hostile to us...?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye all goin off ta battle?"

Cryheart says, "Depends."

Speaking to Emperia, Leafiara says, "Well... sort of? She's a messenger for Haidan the warchief."

Kelfyr whispers to the group, "Ok, hands off the claidhmore this time, eh?"

Cryheart says, "But we headed to speak with her soon."

Leafiara says, "But in the past she's come for parley."

Qistra says, "Yew should go to da bar."

Dendum says, "The sword in ground is signal for talking."

Missoni says, "Her sword in the ground symbolizes that she is there peacefully."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We got our own Warshef."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat guy."

Cryheart asks, "All ready?"

Lithyia says, "Well, try not get yourselves killed."

Archales says, "I'm not even armed."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Have fun shtormin da cashtle."

Cryheart says, "Moving out."

[travel]

Speaking to Archales, Qistra says, "Ya got me."

[Lower Dragonsclaw, Wooded Hills]

This face of the hill is completely bare of trees, and doesn't even have many bushes. You notice that even the bird and insect noises are gone, leaving you with an eerie silence, broken only by the wind. Off the side of the trail, you notice a depression in the hillside, with a dark pit at the bottom. You also see a flame-eyed burnished ember fox, an animated flayed gigas disciple, the driftwood Nalver disk, a grumpy little gremlin and the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs. Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Sir Balantine, Squire Missoni, Kelfyr, Rasson, Stormyrain, Warchief Archales, Qistra, Irval, Grand Lord Arahnim, Sirona, Lord Thyrabos, Tikba, Magister Raelee, Lord Thrassus, Forreya, Nazarr, Goldstr, Khiya, Renowned Lady Sraven, Orgamor, Sir Geijon, Lady Nairena, Sister-in-arms Mourdeyan, Bellaja, Sir Cryheart, Town Councilor Kiyna, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Nalver, Perigourd, Rheshay

Rheshay asks, "Do ye need a lass to tell ye when to piss and squat too?"

Rheshay peers quizzically at Nalver.

Speaking cheerfully to Rheshay, Leafiara greets, "Good eve--"

Speaking to Rheshay, Nalver asks, "Well, what is your intent around here? Summon somemore warbringers to paint our earth red?"

Qistra says, "Wish Olgre was heres."

Leafiara muses, "Well, this is off to a start."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Wooded hils area."

Rheshay says, "If I want'd to paint ye in blood, ye'd not see it comin'."

Tikba politely greets, "Rheshay."

Speaking to Rheshay, Kiyna says, "I have a question for you."

Rheshay leans on her claidhmore.

Tikba says, "Well met in peace, tonight."

Rheshay peers quizzically at Kiyna.

Perigourd says, "Surely not, we've little experience in such things."

Speaking to a slender smokey grey mouse, Qistra says, "Gus behave."

Speaking to Rheshay, Nalver says, "You should talk to one of these new feeling empaths. Might be able to remove that bitterness from your soul."

Speaking to Rheshay, Kiyna asks, "I know you speak for Haidan. Do you also defend Tyeid?"

Rheshay says, "Peace tanigh', I can tell ye that."

Rheshay says, "I speak fer Haidan, he is my chief."

Rheshay says, "The krol have come."

Leafiara agreeably says, "Peace."

Speaking to Rheshay, Vaemyr says, "Does he wish for peace then? Because if not, I imagine this might be a short conversation."

[General] Nalver thinks, "A group of convicted criminals, imperial colonists, and a reiver meet on a hill during a rainstorm."

Vaemyr says, "They sure have, we killed quite a few last night."

Speaking angrily to Rheshay, Nairena says, "Tyeid abducted me last night."

[General] Leafiara asks, "Another day in the Landing?"

[General] Directed to Nalver, Stormyrain thinks, "And you're one of them."

[General] Delyorik thinks, "Pretty much."

Tikba says, "Indeed, they sought your people."

Rheshay says, "We have told ye our affair is wit' yer shiny kin in the camp. Not within ye walls. But ye still pour out like little red ants ta figh'."

[General] Nalver thinks, "Not sure if this a joke, a horror story, or about to be a great drama."

Speaking angrily to Rheshay, Nairena asks, "Does your chief control that shaman?"

Rheshay glances at Nairena.

Nazarr says, "There were reivers in town last night, Rheshay."

[General] Delyorik thinks, "A combination of all three."

Speaking to Rheshay, Vaemyr says, "Your little blood spider shaman kidnaps our citizens from our town, as long as you harbor him, there is zero chance of peace."

Rheshay says, "If me kin slip beyond yer walls, dey deserve what's comin'."

Speaking to Rheshay, Kelfyr says, "Your people continue to assail the walls of the town as well."

Tikba mildly says, "We had hoped you had come to discuss the return of our friend Nairena's things, which Tyeid saw fit to borrow."

[General] Directed to Stormyrain, Nalver thinks, "I'm mearly a spectator to what goes on around here. Except for Prickles. She's sort of involved in something, I guess."

Rheshay nods at Lithyia.

Tikba says, "The spiders took her from within our walls."

Lithyia nods at Rheshay.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Nalver asks, "Blood spider shaman?"

Lithyia sheathes a vultite Niima's-embrace engulfed around the hilt by nacre kraken tentacles into one of the slots on her leather bandolier. A brief shimmer of lagoon blue light erupts from inside the bandolier along with a muffled gurgle.

Speaking to Nalver, Vaemyr says, "Tyeid."

Speaking to Nalver, Perigourd says, "Tyeid."

Speaking to Rheshay, Dendum says, ""Your shaman is seen as one without honor."

Speaking to Rheshay, Thrassus says, "The shaman sliced her apart like she was some sort of slaughtered game."

Lithyia gazes up into the heavens.

Rheshay says, "We will address the Eater."

Speaking angrily to Rheshay, Nairena says, "He wears an amulet made from one of my eyes and his belly is filled with my hand he ripped from my arm."

Nalver says, "Ahh. Thought you were talking about that Arachne priest."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Nalver says, "That one caught fire and..."

Speaking to Rheshay, Kiyna says, "We will address the Eater now, then."

Rheshay says, "But ye stan' and no high'r ground than we do."

Archales whispers something to Qistra.

Rheshay says, "Ye continue to press inta our kin when we strike the Empire."

Tikba neutrally says, "If you would have it so."

[General] Directed to Nalver, Stormyrain thinks, "Yet you were the first person to greet Rheshay with your statements and comments, not sure I would agree you are a spectator."

Leafiara agrees, "Well, some here certainly do."

Speaking to Rheshay, Vaemyr says, "Then stop doing so, and that won't happen."

Rheshay asks, "Now tha krol come, perhaps that is an enemy we can agree upon, nae?"

Speaking to Rheshay, Perigourd says, "Perhaps just leave the empire alone, and they'll do likewise with you, and we can all live peacefully."

Rheshay begins chuckling at Perigourd!

Cryheart says, "Aye, Rheshay."

[General] Berost asks, "Where did we end up?"

Cryheart says, "Focus on the krol."

Speaking to Rheshay, Tikba says, "We had a very similar conversation with the krolvin, about you."

Lithyia whispers something to Dendum.

Thrassus says, "The Empire is an ally to the town. This has been stated by the town government repeatedly."

Speaking to Perigourd, Nalver says, "Perhaps the empire should go back to their borders from a few hundred years ago."

Rheshay says, "Thar is no peace wit' da empire. They will stretch, an' stretch, until ye are nae mer."

Speaking to Perigourd, Nalver says, "So everyone is happy and at peace."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "We're in the Wooded Hills of the Lower Dragonsclaw."

[General] Directed to Berost, Stormyrain thinks, "Wooded Hills, by the depression in the hillside."

Sablo's Interruption

There is movement in the woods.

Speaking to Raelee, Thrassus says, "I count the Mayor as government, yes."

Speaking to Rheshay, Geijon says, "We pleaded with Haiden. You are no friends of any of us based on your butchery. Common grounds against th' Krolvin? Lost."

Dendum says, "Protect the messenger."

Rheshay glares at Geijon.

Geijon turns to face Rheshay.

Speaking to Rheshay, Perigourd asks, "Did the Krolvin say the same of the Reivers when their empire was just as grand?"

Rheshay asks, "Ye think we monst'rs? But ye free da krol?"

Speaking to Rheshay, Geijon says, "We eradicate th' Krol too."

Speaking to Rheshay, Geijon says, "You miscalculated."

There is a faint whistle nearby. Rheshay suddenly brings her hand to the side of her neck.

Rheshay blinks.

Speaking to Rheshay, Missoni agrees, "I would prefer the krolvin dead, as well."

Leafiara says, "I think you believe we're a monolithic entity, but we actually have our many disagreements, like you with your Eater--"

Dendum says, "Bad job protecting the messenger."

Perigourd says, "Great."

[Leafi tries to unpoison, but...]

A soft, white glow briefly surrounds you as you focus your thoughts on the UnPoison spell...

Your spell is ready.

Provoking a GameMaster is not such a good idea.

Sirona quietly says, "Uh oh."

Rheshay clenches her claidhmore and snarls, spinning around, backing up.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Hey, no killin da meshincher."

Tikba urgently says, "We are peaceful here."

Geijon says, "Attack us and die."

Kiyna says, "Be wary."

Tikba says, "If something struck you, it was not from our party."

Speaking to Tikba, Stormyrain says, "We are, but someone is not."

Leafiara tentatively says, "Hmm."

Cryheart says, "Defend."

Rheshay suddenly stumbles for no apparent reason.

Vaemyr says, "Could be Krolvin, or Remants."

Nairena says, "I just want Tyeid to show his ugly face. I will decorate my home with his head."

Thrassus says, "Cure her of that poison."

Stormyrain asks, "Is there a healer that can look at Rheshay?"

Speaking to Rheshay, Perigourd says, "You may have been poisoned."

Cryheart says, "Empath."

Vaemyr gestures while calling upon the lesser spirits for aid...

Irval whispers arcane incantations, and the air about him swirls with ghostly wisps of power.

Dendum gestures while calling upon the lesser spirits for aid...

[OOC note: no casts go through for probably the same reason, so I handwave it away as...]

Leafiara says, "She'll have to agree to the help."

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

Rheshay snarls menacingly!

Dendum exclaims, "Drop the Sanctuary!"

Speaking to a rugged imperial soldier, Leafiara says, "We're not here to battle."

Nairena says, "Woah."

Rheshay spits at the imperial soldiers.

Speaking in Giantman, Irval exclaims something you don't understand.

[Leafi drops the sanctuary]

Commander Sablo just came marching in.

Cryheart says, "Dinnae attack the imperials."

The sense of peace and security passes away from the area.

Sraven says, "Reshay is in perfect health."

Tikba smoothly says, "This is a peaceful parlay, Sablo."

Thrassus says, "Was."

Tikba firmly says, "Is still."

Cryheart says, "We are having a parley, Sablo."

Cryheart says, "Dinnae violate that."

Speaking to Rheshay, Geijon says, "Considering you may be poisoned the correct response might be to let you figure it out. You've been offered succor, but reacted to....ah Sablo."

Rheshay snarls and tries to move away, her eyes drooping and her speech slurring as she curses. Sablo hurls a tomahawk near her feet and it wedges into the ground infront of her.

Nalver gently takes hold of Rheshay's hand.

Rheshay falls over.

Gutstorm pulls Rheshay to her feet.

Speaking to Nalver, Dendum says, "Now."

Leafiara tries to pull Rheshay toward her.

Nalver's group blurs into a white fog and vanishes!

Sablo snarls menacingly!

Thrassus says, "At least they are taking her alive."

Leafiara says, "Nalver on top of things, it would seem."

Commander Sablo just went southeast.

Kiyna asks, "...You attack an emissary?"

[Wehnimer's, Exterior]

You are standing on the eastern shore of the Locksmehr River at the point where it rushes out of the great river gates of Wehnimer's Landing. The twin guard towers that protect the gates rise far above the beach, perhaps as much as fifty feet above the level of the water. The heavy sea gates that span the river have been magnificently crafted so that they can be closed quickly and easily to prevent unwanted intrusions by seafaring craft. You also see the driftwood Nalver disk and a grumpy little gremlin.

Also here: Rheshay, Nalver

Thrassus says, "Or was."

Perigourd blurs into a white fog and vanishes!

Stormyrain mutters, "Spectator indeed."

Dendum's group blurs into a white fog and vanishes!

Cryheart says, "Well..that was quick."

Goldstr exclaims, "We be at Peace here!"

Sirona quietly says, "Hmm."

Mourdeyan asks, "Where'd she go?"

Leafiara says, "We're definitely at peace here with both Rheshay and Sablo gone."

Stormyrain says, "Nalver took her."

Kelfyr says, "Dendum and Nalver took her."

Cryheart says, "Soldiers took her."

Seneschal Dendum just moved quietly into the area, his group following closely.

Speaking to Cryheart, Stormyrain says, "Nalver took her."

Mourdeyan says, "Egads."

Cryheart asks, "What?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Sablo got her agin."

Nazarr says, "Oh, that will go over well."

Vaemyr says, "Nalver took her."

Speaking to Nairena, Leafiara says, "...still to be determined."

Kelfyr asks, "Does he still take Elidal's orders?"

Nairena says, "That reiver never answered my question."

Leafiara says, "I think they're due north, not south..."

Leafiara says, "Unless you're trying to get to Elidal."

[Imperial Campsite]

Stumps pepper the spacious clearing, as stacked logs leave evidence of their recent removal. A grove of trees surrounds the area, leaving a natural palisade to add some security to the campsite. Rheshay groans.

Speaking to Sablo, Kiyna says, "Are you out of your mind? You've attacked an emissary during a parley! You prove yourselves to be everything they call you."

Nalver's group blurs into a white fog and vanishes!

Tikba mildly says, "I suppose if the men of the Empire will support you in this, there is little I can do."

Leafiara says, "Hm."

Lithyia asks, "Now does everyone see what they are like?"

Leafiara says, "That... seems like a fairly poor escape plan considering our location, but."

Irval says, "That wasnt a parley, that was her trying to dictate terms."

Irval says, "We have already denied."

Sablo growls ferociously!

Commander Sablo just went south.

[Courtyard]

A well maintained and healthy garden occupies the entirety of the courtyard. The air here is cool and crisp, but the bulk of the monastery shelters you from wind and makes the air bracing instead of chilling. In the center of the garden is a natural spring bubbling up several inches above the surface of the encircling pool of crystal clear water. A large stone and iron gate blocks the entrance to the monastery flanked by a statue of a woman carrying a crystal staff and a set of crystalline keys facing a second statue of a kneeling young man bedecked in battle-worn black chain armor. You also see a black mastiff, a silver-tipped smoke grey wolf, the Archales disk, the Balantine disk, a haggard grey-haired gnoll, the Kelfyr disk, the Orgamor disk, the Thyrabos disk, the Geijon disk, the web-draped Missoni disk, the Sirona disk, a lazy wild dark grey dog, the flaming Nairena disk, the Emperia disk, the Qistra disk, the Arahnim disk, a grizzled porcupine, the Aetheris disk, the Evernin disk, a scorched black marble bench with some stuff on it and a large fel tree.

A sense of peace and calm settles over the area.

Tikba's faewood crosier pulses with a white-blue light!

Stormyrain says, "Nalver took her, again."

Leafiara asks, "Hmm.. is he even capable of undoing poison?"

Tikba mildly says, "I fear he is hard to find, now."

Stormyrain shrugs at Leafiara.

Speaking to Sablo, Geijon says, "Voln is not often our refugees in conflict. It's a last resort or bastion."

Sablo growls ferociously!

Stormyrain says, "He's just a spectator."

Commander Sablo just went west.

[travel, but Locate Person spells no longer work]

Cryheart says, "Nalver has no idea the trouble he will be in."

Nairena asks, "Nalver knows the Reiver with the claid?"

Kelfyr says, "Not sure he cares either."

Cryheart says, "No."

Cryheart says, "He just took her away."

Thrassus says, "I think he does, and it might be why he's doing this."

Leafiara speculates, "Well, if our locating magic isn't working, I'd surmise that Rheshay could have opened a path into the Ember Vale for him."

Leafiara says, "Him being Nalver."

Stormyrain says, "Or he's unpresenced himself."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Perigourd says, "More likely."

[General] Sablo thinks, "Soldiers, search far and wide, find the reiver rat and the wood elf."

Nairena says, "Well he did prevent bloodshed."

Nairena says, "Sort of."

Cryheart says, "Still cannae sight him."

Tikba politely says, "He did not unpresence himself."

Thrassus says, "Sablo was trying to capture her alive."

Leafiara says, "I'm not aware of what types of magic Nalver knows, so I can't speak to that." [OOC note: Leafi probably should be aware, considering how often he and the other Drakes are aboard her ship constantly. I, however, couldn't remember in the heat of the moment.]

Tikba says, "He does not have the knowledge."

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara says, "Ah."

Missoni says, "Winston has found them."

Sraven says, "Sablo threathen Nalver."

Missoni says, "In the Abandoned Inn."

Cryheart asks, "So Nalver chooses one who has been involved with killing citizens?"

Nairena asks, "The reiver showed herself to us for peaceful talks, right?"

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara says, "Well, even so, that's not necessarily sufficient to write it off... we can imbed the spells, after all."

[General] Rheshay thinks, "Ye...fmdm...nae...fi...."

Cryheart says, "Spiders as ye recall."

[General] Nikolaii asks, "Expecting trouble?"

Missoni says, "The Abandoned Inn."

Nazarr says, "All right, let's head to the Abandoned Inn."

Sraven says, "Cowards just walked off, i followed awhile but lost em."

Speaking to Tikba, Stormyrain says, "He very well may have a scroll or have someone else with him who does."

[General] Thrassus thinks, "He's a councilor of Icemule Trace, in case you weren't aware."

The narrow road ends here in the courtyard of a rambling structure that appears to be a prosperous inn. The thanot door keeps the guests safe from the dangers of weather and creature. The footprints that mark the dirt don't look like they were made by anyone you'd care to meet on a moonlit stroll, making the inn a welcome haven. You also see a hill troll, a flame-eyed burnished ember fox, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, the web-draped Missoni disk, a hill troll, an animated flayed gigas disciple, a lazy wild dark grey dog, a thanot door and a clump of bushes.

[Leafi tries to Unpoison again and still can't]

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

A rugged imperial soldier just arrived!

Speaking to Rheshay, Leafiara says, "If you need help with the poison--"

Speaking to Tikba, Missoni says, "He has an excellent tracking ability."

[General] Irval thinks, "Uh No, they were killed."

Rheshay put a praying white ora figurine in her tartan pack.

Tikba asks, "Is the intention, then, to aid Sablo in capturing Rheshay, when she came to parlay?"

Rheshay stands up.

Tikba says, "I am eager to know your intentions."

Speaking wryly to Tikba, Leafiara asks, "It's the Landing. Is there ever a universal intention?"

Cryheart says, "That is another discussion."

Tikba says, "It seems the only discussion."

Rheshay swings at a soldier but stumbles and misses.

Nazarr says, "Actually, we just wanted to know if she was all right."

Speaking to Tikba, Vaemyr asks, "Who are you asking?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye shafe Rheshay?"

Cryheart says, "Speak Rheshay if ye are able."

Commander Sablo just came marching in.

Lithyia asks, "What happened to her?"

Tikba mildly says, "I had thought to hold a vote."

Speaking to Nazarr, Leafiara agrees, "Well, that's why I'm here at least, yes..."

Rheshay says, "Sle...slo..."

Rheshay kneels down.

Thrassus says, "She is drugged from the dart."

Perigourd says, "Indeed."

Speaking to Sablo, Sraven says, "Coward."

Cryheart says, "She was poisoned or darted to drug her."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me unpoison her?"

Gutstorm forms several angular gestures while chanting rumbling phrases of power in the Dwarven tongue...

Kiyna says, "This is absurd. We do not attack and capture emissaries who have agreed to a peaceful meeting."

Sablo slams the back of his tomahawk into Rheshay's head and she collapses with a thud.

Speaking to Rheshay, Leafiara says, "We can help with the poison if you'll let us, at least."

Rheshay falls over.

Leafiara says, "...and never mind."

Sablo says, "Piss off."

Sablo says, "...and you...."

Sablo glances at Nalver.

Kelfyr says, "This is madness."

Cryheart says, "We hae a parley going Sablo."

Speaking to Sablo, Missoni says, "Surely that is unnecessary."

Sablo says, "This isn't over Icemule pissant."

Thrassus says, "She's unconscious."

Speaking to Sablo, Nalver says, "This is my land now."

Speaking to Sablo, Nalver says, "And you have no jurisdiction here."

Tikba mildly says, "Yes, this is Wehnimer's Landing."

Speaking to Kelfyr, Leafiara says, "The Landing indeed..."

Speaking to Sablo, Nazarr says, "You're an idiot. She came to parley."

The soldiers drag off Rheshay, and they are not kind now as they glare at Nalver.

Kelfyr says, "You walking throbbing sore of a man."

Speaking to Sablo, Nairena asks, "You know what parley means right?"

Cryheart says, "This area is nae within the Landing jurisdiction."

Lithyia says, "Sablo... you're scum."

Speaking to Sablo, Stormyrain asks, "Where are they taking her?"

Lithyia says, "I knew that already though....now others can see it too."

Tikba says, "Rheshay came to parlay with the Landing."

Speaking to Nalver, Thrassus says, "Ah yes, that theocratic empire nonsense."

Speaking to Sablo, Nalver asks, "You know how we settle disputes on my lands?"

Speaking to Sablo, Stormyrain says, "You are putting the Landing at risk through these actions."

Tikba says, "I suppose the Empire had other intentions."

Speaking to Sablo, Kiyna asks, "Is this how the Barony of Darkstone does things, hm?"

Cryheart says, "We hae a parlay, Sabloe, to discuss the krols."

Speaking to Sablo, Emperia says, "How foolish of you."

Speaking to Nalver, Stormyrain snaps, "Will you start being a spectator, for once?"

Speaking to Sablo, Goldstr exclaims, "Ye now makin Landin enemies!"

Speaking to Nalver, Sraven says, "His fight is unfair."

Lithyia asks, "Do you all see now?"

Irval says, "They came to Parlay with landing. But Sablo does not represent landing."

Speaking to Thrassus, Nalver says, "Hardly. I claimed this land here with the same claim as the empire did in Lower Dragonsclaw."

Lithyia asks, "Or will you still be blind?"

Sablo says, "You can break bread and piss tea all you want with reivers. They are our enemies. There is no peace with them. We are at war. Stop trying to knit a sock for every enemy and do your damn jobs and protect and stop enemies."

Irval says, "So he didn't break any agreement of parley."

Sablo spits.

Lithyia says, "Oh i'll knit a noose for your neck."

Speaking to Sablo, Dendum says, ""Trying to but you keep moving."

Sablo says, "Grifflets, reiver butchers, it's all the same to you. Idiots."

Cryheart says, "Ye are overreaching, Sabloe."

Speaking to Sablo, Tayler says, "Last I checked I wasn't on your payroll."

Sablo points his blue tomahawk at Nalver.

Thrassus says, "He has a point."

Cryheart says, "There is a friendly Reiver clan."

Commander Sablo just marched off to the southwest.

Discussion Afterward

Leafiara says, "Stop making an enemy out of every random messenger, emissary, and cook and--"

Nairena says, "I hope they surround your emcampment and it burns to the ground."

Tikba says, "Well."

Kiyna asks, "Does Elidal know this happened?"

Tikba says, "I suppose the vote will not be necessary."

Kelfyr asks, "Would he care?"

Goldstr exclaims, "Ye may soon be one a our enemys!"

Mourdeyan says, "Bad idea."

Cryheart says, "Killing innocent imperials is not the way."

Dendum says, "Eh good thing we had talked her into dealing with the Shaman."

Cryheart asks, "Hae ye all become murderers as well?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Cryheart, ye no wanna shee dish, should take da group back to town."

Speaking to Cryheart, Nairena says, "Still mad. Dont judge until one of your eyes becomes a piece of neck jewelry."

Speaking to Cryheart, Nalver says, "And poisoning people then arresting them during a parlay shows the trustworthiness of the empire."

Speaking to Cryheart, Stormyrain asks, "Shall we see if we can find the young Baron?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Nalver says, "No one can ever trust the empire again."

Sirona quietly asks, "Yeah where is Elidal?"

Lithyia says, "This is why some of us have been telling you we want the empire gone."

[General] Rysul thinks, "Nikolaii did you go on the Rysk hunts."

Lithyia asks, "Will you listen now?"

Tikba politely corrects, "Not a baron."

Cryheart says, "Back to camp."

Dendum says, "Rich merchant son."

Geijon says, "I doubt most of you can see all th' angles and everyone needs to take a moment."

Cryheart says, "One apple does not mean the whole barrel is rotten."

[travel]

Irval says, "They were not there to parley wit the empire. Sablo broke no rules. He's been out tracking them. Then he came upon us talking with the very ones he was ordered to track."

Goldstr exclaims, "Sablo DO be a bad Apple!"

Kelfyr says, "And yet that apple keeps being placed back in the barrel."

Bellaja says, "People! Please stop. This frantic shouting and sudden moves do nothing to help."

Tikba mildly says, "Then we shall see what the owner of the barrel thinks."

Speaking quietly to Goldstr, Sirona says, "Seems to be."

Tikba says, "We must see what sort of apple he prefers."

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara agrees, "Indeed."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly exclaims, "Lylia am need help!"

[Realm] Geijon thinks, "Sablo you continue to show your experience."

Speaking to Tikba, Perigourd says, "I imagine he wants his people to survive, much as the Landing does."

[Imperial Campsite]

Open wagons display weapons, clothing, and various goods for sale, allowing browsers to easily peruse the merchandise. Shopkeepers tend to their wares and busy themselves creating a bustling atmosphere in this makeshift town. You also see a scruffy bald butcher.

Geijon asks, "What and who are we looking for?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Tikba says, "And perhaps he is happy to endanger the Landing to accomplish that goal, as much as is necessary."

Cryheart yells, "Lord Elidal, ye about?"

Leafiara says, "Doesn't look like he's about, at least."

Speaking to Perigourd, Tikba says, "But we must hope not."

Vaemyr says, "I don't think so."

Geijon says, "One would hope."

Nazarr says, "I thought that maybe we came here to burn the camp to the ground."

Investigating Disappearances

[General] Samfelt exclaims, "Someone has murdered our soldiers! Or taken them! I found their weapons in a pile on the ground near the beach. Who would do this?!"

Tikba mildly says, "I had heard that Darkstone Barony came to be a friend to the Landing, after all."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly thinks, "Mushta been Sablo."

Vaemyr says, "Samfelt on the net..."

[General] Tayler thinks, "Oh no, anyways."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "I mean... take your pick? Remnants, the Ember Vale, the reivers' spiders, the Spider Temple's spiders..."

Tikba murmurs, "Gutstorm."

Nazarr says, "Evidently Sablo has a very original definition of "friend."."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Some citizens of the Landing."

[General] Nairena thinks, "Oh dear. So many enemies."

[General] Vaemyr asks, "You on the black sands?"

Thrassus says, "Gutstorm's impulsivity may have gotten him into more trouble than he can get out of this time."

Nairena says, "Thats Gutsy for ya."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "We are in the Camp, Samfelt."

Sraven says, "We couldnt ever defend Rheshay."

Tikba mildly says, "We could have, if we had wished to."

[General] Rasson thinks, "They are running away from the empire, just said "I'm out"."

Leafiara says, "I probably should have seen the dart coming. Honestly."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Sablo just violated a parley with Rheshay."

Kiyna says, "I tried to defend Rheshay. Sablo is a rabid dog."

Sraven says, "I tried to wither his bones."

Thrassus says, "I was expecting krol, myself."

[General] Nairena thinks, "Sablo represents the new Barony.. sort of."

[General] Nairena thinks, "Not looking good."

[General] Irval thinks, "I don't actually think he violated a parley. Landing doesnt represent Darkstone. Darkstone does not represent Landing. Sablo saw an advantage and took it. At least in my estimation."

Nazarr says, "Sablo wants war. He would do anything to achieve it, because he plans to use it to consolidate power. Parleys and peace are the opposite of what he wants."

[General] Tayler thinks, "Really he's a rabid dog and should be put down, or at least removed from his position here."

[General] Dendum thinks, "Well we have the Irval's estimation and Samfelts good word...surely everything is good now."

Sraven says, "We might not have a choice now."

Kelfyr says, "I wouldn't draw direct intent from those actions."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly thinks, "When da grippinsh who shpeak on behalf of da empire call parley, Sablo need to foller dem rule too."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "That is what a parley is, and agreement for peace while talking."

Bellaja says, "His violent nature is worse than thre V'tullians."

Kelfyr says, "Beyond that he's intensely, overbearingly singleminded."

Nazarr says, "I am drawing direct intent from all of his actions up to now."

Sirona quietly says, "Plausible."

Tikba says, "He wants to act. He saw an action, and took that action."

Speaking surprisedly to Bellaja, Leafiara says, "Hm, I hadn't even considered that possibility."

Leafiara muses, "It would make so much sense."

[General] Tayler asks, "Is it generally considered acceptable in your empire to poison people at parleys?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "It's like he cannot help himself."

[General] Dendum thinks, "Eh...even in the empire they call Sablo Monster."

[General] Irval thinks, "But no one from the Empire's leadership was their. Perhaps if the envoy position was there. Or Samfelt himself....So that parley was with the people of landing where Rheshay tried to dictate the terms we had to follow so the Reivers could attack our allies without landing citizens attacking them."

Thrassus says, "I doubt he is consolidating power, rather he is just overly enthusiastic about his job and green with inexperience in it."

Nairena says, "Any little support or sympathy I hel for the new Barony is gone. That reiver could have lead us to Tyeid. I want my eye, arm and those damn blood runes wiped out."

Speaking to Thrassus, Missoni says, "I do think that is likely."

[General] Gutstorm drunkenly thinks, "Cryheart a leader."

Cryheart says, "If I get the chance, I will hae a discussion with Lord Elidal regarding Sablo's behavior."

Kelfyr says, "So green that he can't follow orders, though? He's not new at soldiering."

[General] Dendum thinks, "There were several councilors..."

Sirona quietly says, "His power only comes from Elidal anyway."

Tikba mildly says, "Sablo knew that we were in parley. He did not think it mattered."

Speaking to Cryheart, Khiya says, "Sooner the better."

[General] Kiyna thinks, "Sablo's actions reflect poorly on himself, his barony, and worst, the Landing. Rheshay has been attacked at a parley with us. I will have Sablo answer for this."

Speaking to Tikba, Nairena says, "So he showed us just how much he valued the rights of landing citizens."

Nazarr says, "My guess is that Sablo doesn't think of Elidal as having much authority, at least over him."

[General] Cryheart thinks, "Again, dinnae throw away the barrel, if there is one rotten apple."

[General] Irval thinks, "Yes but councilors don't represent Darkstone. While it was in poor taste. I agree, but so is attacking our citizens and cutting them up and painting blood runes on them."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Other than the exception of that young man who charged straight into battle against the reivers, knighthood is difficult to attain and the knights certainly are leaders."

[General] Samfelt thinks, "These soldiers were following orders and had no intention of harming anyone unless commanded. Their families deserve to know what happened to them, if anyone has information. They fought from the towers last night, and their fate will not remain a mystery to me for long."

Kelfyr says, "Yes, everyone sees everyone."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Found dem."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wot happen to Shamfelt?"

[General] Missoni thinks, "I am sorry, Samfelt. They did not deserve that fate."

[General] Vaemyr thinks, "Samfelt, we don't even know where you found these traces or we could potentially investigate."

[General] Leafiara asks, "So, in other words, the issue is a lack of communication between Sablo and the Landing?"

[General] Cryheart thinks, "I would discuss with Lord Elidal re: Sablo disregarding a parley."

[General] Tayler thinks, "I see no particular attempts at throwing out that particular apple either, Sir Cryheart, which is where my issue stems from."

Irval asks, "Where is samfelt?"

Cryheart says, "No idea."

Leafiara says, "No idea."

Tayler says, "Hopefully dead."

Nairena angrily says, "This whole thing is a bloody mess."

Tayler says, "I mean."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Are you really trying to justify Sablo's actions on a technicality? 'Technically it wasn't his parley, so-' Rubbish. I'm a bloody Rook and even I understand the spirit of parley."

Tayler says, "Well."

Lithyia says, "It seems he is doing that, Kiyna."

Irval asks, "How bout Gutstorms action in killing all the soldiers?"

Nairena says, "No one knows who is incharge."

Irval exclaims, "Admit it!"

Emperia says, "Yes, interrupting diplomatic endeavors is rarely a good idea."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Wut now?"

[General] Nikolaii thinks, "I thought i heard a tale of a third ballista tower in Landing."

Cryheart says, "Ye should hae known better Gutstorm."

[General] Samfelt thinks, "I am on a beach somewhere. I can see the bay, and there is a sign. I will get closer and read it."

Irval says, "I watched you disassemble that group of Soldiers."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye cookin up crazy nonshench agin Irval?"

Speaking to Gutstorm, Thrassus says, "Hope you don't end up in a obuilette somewhere."

Tayler asks, "Would he fit?"

Nairena says, "Gutsy was drinking at the Cutlass."

Kiyna says, "I'm going to try to find Samfelt..."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Am would never hurt imperial, me built dish place."

Bellaja says, "Watch him fall in."

[General] Dendum thinks, "Eh...perhaps this whole crystal amulet is new thing to the Samfelt...tolmis..whatever....but could be in Briskers for all we know."

[General] Samfelt thinks, "There is a gate here next to the sign. It claims that this is the home of the Drakes Vanguard. I suppose I will begin my investigation with them."

Missoni says, "Ah..."

Lithyia says, "Heh."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me know where he at."

[General] Dendum thinks, "You are on the wrong side of the bridge envoy."

Your surroundings blur into a white fog . . .

[travel]

[Wehnimer's, Exterior] On this rocky beach stands the northeast corner of Wehnimer's Landing. Gazing off to the north you see the great rolling waters of the Darkstone Bay while to the east can be seen the rolling hills and high plateaus that skirt the icy waters. You also see the web-draped Missoni disk, a lazy wild dark grey dog, an animated flayed gigas disciple, a thin-shafted gleaming steel voulge, a thin-shafted gleaming steel voulge, a thin-shafted gleaming steel voulge, a thin-shafted gleaming steel voulge, a wide bowered gate and a hammered rolaren sign.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Kelfyr, Renowned Lady Sraven, Berost, Sir Balantine, Rasson, Qistra, Grand Lord Arahnim, Magister Raelee, Goldstr, Khiya, Orgamor, Sir Geijon, Lady Nairena, Bellaja, Emperia, Tikba, Perigourd, Sir Cryheart, Sarissa Tayler, Squire Missoni, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Emissary Samfelt

Leafiara says, "So he's beginning to investigate with an organization that Thadston just very loudly vouched for at the trial..."

Samfelt says, "There were just their weapons left behind."

Speaking to Samfelt, Tayler says, "You would investigate the Drakes? There are several of us here."

Speaking to Tayler, Leafiara says, "Indeed."

Samfelt says, "I have no interest in a trial, when it comes to murdering soldiers."

Samfelt says, "I will deal with them myself if I have to."

Tayler arches one eyebrow at Samfelt in an expression of sardonic amusement.

Cryheart says, "Seems both sides are a bit overzealous at this time."

Speaking concernedly to Samfelt, Missoni asks, "Just their weapons are here? No... remains?"

Cryheart says, "Murderers on both sides."

Samfelt throws the voulge against the ground, its shaft splintering as he does!

Dendum says, ""This is not your side of the bridge traitor."

Kelfyr says, "Emotions are infectious that way."

Sraven says, "Unfairly."

Samfelt says, "I."

Tayler says, "No body, no crime."

Samfelt stares at Dendum.

Samfelt says, "Am."

Samfelt glares at Dendum.

Samfelt says, "Not."

Lithyia asks, "So that's what a traitor looks like eh?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Thrassus asks, "You were aware of Sablo's plan to take an emissary prisoner?"

Samfelt exclaims, "A traitor!"

Samfelt removes a sharply-honed veil iron short sword from in his leather scabbard.

Dendum draws an asymmetrical yumi from one of the bearskin weapon loops secured with jade buttons sewn inside of his buckskin jacket.

Samfelt points his veil iron short sword at Dendum.

Cryheart says, "Calm down Emissary Samfelt."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "At ease... please."

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum says, ""One more death for the Samfelt no better than the others."

Samfelt grits his teeth.

Kelfyr asks, "This is what stands for diplomacy?"

Cryheart says, "Dinnae let foolish remarks get ye into trouble."

Emperia says, "There is little point in engaging in violence here."

Missoni politely says, "Perhaps we could all just talk sensibly, and find what happened to these missing people."

Tayler says, "I do not have a particular side, but you will not be harming my friends."

Cryheart says, "We hae a whole lot of issues to deal with."

Cryheart says, "But think it through."

Nairena says, "We Drakes protect the Landing. We dont go killing imerial soldiers."

Samfelt says, "You sound like someone who might know about what happened here."

Nairena removes a drake-winged insignia from in her ceremonial belt.

Samfelt stares at Dendum.

Nairena taps a drake-winged insignia, which is in her right hand.

Cryheart says, "Some citizens did though."

Irval says, "I know what happened...."

Irval glances at Gutstorm.

Qistra taps a drake-winged insignia that she is wearing.

Nairena put a drake-winged insignia in her ceremonial belt.

Missoni says, "If there were no remains, it could be that Tyeid took them."

Samfelt frowns at Irval.

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum says, ""Yes...have been here since the day they announced the coming of the empire...has been crazy since that day."

Cryheart says, "That is possible."

Missoni adds, "And they are perhaps still alive."

Irval says, "I watched it happen..."

Nairena says, "That means that soldier is in a world of pain."

Leafiara nods in agreement to the drake-winged insignia.

Samfelt says, "I feared that was a possibility. But it seems my honor is a jest, as is the lives of these men."

Nairena says, "If Tyeid took him."

A drake-winged insignia seemingly floats up out of Tayler's spidersilk backpack and into his waiting hand.

Irval says, "I didnt stop them so I feel equally as guilty."

Lithyia says, "Your honor..."

Tikba mildly says, "Yes, I think a discussion of honor is unwise."

Orgamor rubs his drake-winged insignia.

Samfelt says, "But who are you to challenge my honor, when you hide among thieves and cutthroats."

Missoni sighs.

Samfelt spits on the ground!

Lithyia says, "At least I know what I am."

[General] Rysul thinks, "Nikolaii exactly."

Kelfyr says, "Lot of spitting tonight."

Cryheart says, "Reivers, Krolvins, Imperial soldiers, Rooks...are all sharing pain."

Cryheart says, "So give it a rest."

Dendum asks, "Is this imperial who has betrayed everything at least once really talking about honor?"

Tikba says, "Yes, perhaps we are all overwrought tonight."

Cryheart says, "Dishonor comes in many forms."

Speaking to Samfelt, Nairena says, "I dont even know your name, but many folks speak badly about you. Its your job to prove that you are not the things people claim you to be."

(Missoni appears to ignore the conversation and begins overturning stones on the rocky beach.)

Perigourd asks, "So we should believe of others whatever anyone tells us to?"

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni says, "Perhaps there is some clue."

Speaking to Nairena, Irval says, "The one who speak badly are the ones that are a part of the parliament of the rooks as it were..."

Missoni searches around for a moment.

Perigourd says, "I like to find out for myself."

Speaking to Samfelt, Nairena says, "Unless you planning on attacking everyone here."

Speaking to Nairena, Samfelt says, "If they speak ill of me, if it because they are ashamed of their own deeds."

Thrassus dryly says, "You lot won't be satisfied until this place is under real occupation."

Samfelt exclaims, "Murderers!"

Speaking to Samfelt, Nairena says, "I know most of the folks around here. I dont know you."

Cryheart says, "Let's be calm folks."

Samfelt says, "Maybe Thadston was right about some of you."

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum says, ""Eh there are many people standing here will have to be more specific."

Speaking to Samfelt, Qistra says, "Them express yourself so we can uderstands."

(Lithyia begins laughing and cannot seem to stop.)

Lithyia shakes her head.

Samfelt stares at Lithyia.

Speaking calmly to Samfelt, Tikba asks, "What did you discover, with regards to the lost soldiers?"

Lithyia says, "This one..."

Lithyia laughs!

Lithyia points at Samfelt.

Lithyia laughs!

Cryheart says, "Samfelt, take a long deep breath."

Samfelt says, "Just their weapons. Piled here."

Samfelt tightens his grip on his veil iron short sword.

Tikba uncomfortably says, "Ah."

Lithyia glances at Samfelt.

Tayler says, "No body, no crime. Anyone could have put those there."

Irval says, "Of course , I watch Gutstorm kill hireswords that are hired by Amos, so I don't think he means anything personally against the imperials. He just likes killing."

Nairena says, "A good a place as any to discard them."

Speaking to Samfelt, Missoni asks, "How long have they been missing?"

Cryheart asks, "Perhaps it was the krolvin as well?"

Tikba hurriedly says, "Indeed, there are many possible culprits."

Speaking to Irval, Dendum inquires, ""Err...how many murders you stand around and watch anyway?"

Speaking to Dendum, Irval asks, "You think I want him coming after me?"

Nairena says, "The krolvin do hold great hatred for the empire."

Speaking to Samfelt, Tayler asks, "If ten of Amos's hireswords were to die and their weapons were piled at the entrance to your camp, would you be automatically accountable?"

Samfelt says, "These were not hired by anyone. They were soldiers defending their families and people, like you do when your gates are attacked. We had a truce."

Dendum asks, "Ahh is truce like parley?"

Tikba says, "I fear we have learned tonight the value of truces and parleys."

Samfelt says, "Instead of helping, you laugh at their fate."

Tikba says, "Perhaps the reivers determined to counterattack."

Speaking to Dendum, Nairena says, "I was just about to say that."

Cryheart asks, "Do we hae any weapons left, so perhaps they can be examined for clues?"

Lithyia says, "I think some folks still have not learned anything."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "Are you blaming people here for the loss of these soldiers? Seriously? After we fought off not only Reivers, and Krolvin last night, with Sablo nowhere to be found, and with him interupting and pretty much demolishing a parley with us today? Really? Emissary, return to the camp, we'll be happy to investigate this, but you are not in an emotional stance to be here I don't think."

Bellaja adds, "Worthless."

Samfelt asks, "Because why? Because I am the one concerned about them?"

Leafiara incredulously says, "Who's laughing? We're attempting to sort out what's known and what isn't."

Irval exclaims, "The darkstonians are our STATED allies. The Reivers are not!"

Thrassus says, "I do not laugh at thier fate."

Speaking to Samfelt, Kiyna says, "How do you wish us to help? You have a pile of weapons. We have nothing to go on."

Lithyia says, "Oh I'm laughing but not at their fate...."

Speaking gently to Samfelt, Missoni says, "Many of us are concerned."

Irval says, "Why are we even arguing over this? WE got RHESHAY REJOICE! Now we can get to their stronghold and add his skull next to his mothers."

Vaemyr says, "We are litterally trying to look for clues and tracks, right now."

Speaking to Samfelt, Geijon says, "Thadston is plenty flawed, but he's probably no less given solid advice on each of us."

Speaking to Samfelt, Goldstr says, "Tinks bout it, was da Rogue Commander Sablo brought on dis problem dis eve by attackin a peaceful parley."

Thrassus says, "It is odd there are no bodies though."

Samfelt grits his teeth.

Nairena says, "Dangerous times we are in."

Speaking to Thrassus, Missoni says, "Just weapons, rocks and seaweed."

Tayler says, "I would not be surprised in the slightest if this was retribution for what your friend Sablo just pulled."

Cryheart says, "Weapons alone dinnae mean those soldiers are dead, perhaps they were kidnapped."

Leafiara says, "For all we know, maybe they abandoned their duties as you did once, after believing this was the wrong move. Unless a great deal of evidence has somehow been found that we're unaware of."

Cryheart says, "Unless it was those blasted spiders."

Leafiara agrees, "Spiders also a possibility."

Speaking to Leafiara, Geijon says, "Explain that statement."

Speaking to Leafiara, Missoni says, "People who abandon their duties do not often abandon their families as well, I do not think."

Speaking to Geijon, Leafiara says, "When Samfelt left Bodohal's ship."

Qistra says, "They may have piled thier weapons to go into a hot sauna and talk about pease."

Leafiara asks, "Oh, their families are here?"

Nairena says, "Maybe the soldiers seen the actions of Sablo and decided to head back to their homes once they seen how their employers really operate."

Samfelt peers quizzically at Qistra.

Speaking to Leafiara, Geijon says, "Tell us more."

Speaking to Leafiara, Missoni says, "Samfelt seemed to indicate that, yes."

Speaking to Cryheart, Vaemyr says, "Being kidnapped without tracks to find, is not a good thing, probably better off dead than in Tyeid's hands to be used as food to grow his spiders..."

Leafiara nods understandingly at Missoni.

Leafiara says, "Okay, then one possibility is easier to write off."

Nairena says, "Just saying."

Leafiara says, "Let's continue making progress."

Dendum says, "Who...kills a thing and then piles weapons up? In the north we take weapons to the pawnshop or leave them where they land."

Samfelt says, "The soldiers came here with their families. Now it is my duty to explain what happened to them, if they do not return."

Cryheart says, "Aye, but then that would be an explanation."

Cryheart nods at Vaemyr.

Kiyna says, "It is curious that the weapons were left."

Speaking to Dendum, Tayler says, "They were just steel weapons, nothing to write home about."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Mebbe dey go on vacation wit Judge Renpaw?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Missoni asks, "And when were they last seen?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Perigourd says, "A hard task."

Lithyia says, "Well perhaps you should lie...you're good at that I hear..."

Samfelt peers quizzically at Gutstorm.

Speaking to Samfelt, Irval says, "You can tell them that they died in the capture of Rheshay, And that they will be remembered."

Cryheart says, "We need to examine the possibilities."

Speaking to Samfelt, Qistra says, "Use us to help find them."

Cryheart says, "Rather than blaming each other."

Samfelt says, "I am good at it when I need to be. Because I didn't trust anyone I was around at the time with the truth."

Speaking to Irval, Tayler says, "He is particularly good at lying to people."

Cryheart says, "That is petty."

Speaking to Samfelt, Nairena says, "I would get with the Landing Leaders to coordinate a proper investigation, before you go making blank accusations."

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "Sablo just attacked their emissary at a parley. And they like to think the reivers primitive. This is a mark of shame, not honor."

Speaking to Irval, Tayler says, "Way to think of a way to put his one talent to use."

Speaking to Samfelt, Irval says, "To do anything else, will cause us all undue hardships."

Lithyia asks, "And you want US to trust YOU now?"

Lithyia laughs!

Vaemyr says, "I see no tracks, no traces of magic."

Thrassus says, "I wish the Marshall was here so we might find out what happened through her loresongs."

Cryheart says, "Shame goes both ways."

Leafiara asks, "Do we have no bards at all?"

Thrassus says, "That would make things simpler."

Leafiara says, "Though... even if we did, there are no bodies."

Samfelt says, "I don't need to discuss this with anyone from Wehnimer's Landing. This act was not done inside your walls."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Nothing to sing to."

Tikba relievedly says, "Yes, that is true."

Tayler says, "Samfelt had one of the weapons."

Tayler says, "The rest crumbled."

Tikba says, "Perhaps it is a concern for Elidal."

Speaking to Samfelt, Khiya says, "I see nothing wrong with your position of anti-trust. It's certainly warranted."

Nairena says, "Technically this area is still the landing area."

Speaking to Tayler, Vaemyr says, "That one was smashed too."

Speaking to Samfelt, Thrassus says, "Take that weapon to the Marshall and see what she can find."

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum asks, "You said weapons were found here?"

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "They were here, they crumbled away though."

Nairena says, "So Svardin and Chamor says." [OOC note: Svardin's the current leader of the Drakes Vanguard]

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum reminds, ""We are not on the empire's side of the bridge anymore than we are in the landing's walls."

Leafiara says, "Maybe not technically inside our walls, but the construction of the headquarters there was approved by town to my knowledge. ...though, to be fair, we're outside of that gate and not inside it."

Cryheart asks, "Did ye manage to save one of the weapons, Samfelt?"

Samfelt says, "I'm not taking the side of the Empire, or your fine little town."

Speaking to Samfelt, Tayler asks, "Just in it for you, then?"

Kelfyr says, "Odd stance for an Emissary."

Samfelt says, "This is a personal matter."

Lithyia asks, "No, you take whatever self serving position you hold at the moment eh?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Kiyna says, "You're simply taking your own side. Like you have at every turn."

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum remarks, ""How many reiver humans you think had families you lead attacks on?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Khiya says, "No sides needed. How about just a simple fact like.. what kind of weaponry or smith it came from."

Samfelt says, "Some of those soldiers were people I just had ale with not hours before."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me think he tryin to samfelt ush again and frame our town by plantin dem weppin here."

Irval says, "He represents Darkstone. You all wanted us to believe you are different from the Rooks of old, Why can't you do the same of the Darkstonian's instead of treating them the empire. The hypocrisy stinks."

Speaking softly to Samfelt, Missoni says, "I am sorry."

Thrassus says, "The camp has been rather defense minded regarding these attacks."

Thrassus says, "They haven't taken much of an offensive stance at all."

Cryheart says, "Sorry to hear that Samfelt."

Speaking to Samfelt, Tayler asks, "A better question, perhaps, is "If this is where they died, why were they here"?"

Samfelt says, "I suspected the reivers, since one of your own went missing. But now... I'm not sure."

Samfelt glances about with a look of concern on his face.

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "I have tried to help him. We have no evidence. You are harping on about nothing. I would condemn the Rook that shot you if you could bloody well bring them forward."

Vaemyr says, "Could be Remnants, could be Tyeid, could be Krolvin."

Nairena says, "You can toss a body right into the bay from here. Just drag it close to the cliffside."

Leafiara asks, "Wait, which of our own went missing? Nairena?"

Speaking to Irval, Kiyna says, "We can only speculate and look for more clues right now."

Accusations Fly

Samfelt asks, "Nobody saw what happened?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Perigourd says, "It was chaotic."

Irval says, "I saw it happen."

Cryheart says, "It is either the Krolvin or the spiders of the Ember Vale perhaps, but we should nae jump to conclusions."

Leafiara uncertainly says, "I don't know what you're talking about, no."

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum says, "We were watching Sablo be an idiot."

Irval says, "No."

Samfelt peers quizzically at Irval.

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "Yes and she's a good one."

Irval says, "I watched it happen."

Tikba mildly says, "We were briefly occupied with the details of parley."

Irval says, "As close as I am to you."

Irval says, "Right here."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr asks, "We don't even know when this happened, was this last night during the attacks?"

Irval says, "Right now."

Leafiara says, "Unless you're talking about Nairena disappearing yesterday, I didn't see one of our own go missing tonight."

Irval says, "It happened."

Irval points at Gutstorm.

Irval says, "And he did it."

Samfelt frowns.

Irval says, "Im not going to lie for him."

Tayler says, "An unlikely witness."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Irval makin up shtuff, me wud wit Berost Dendum and Liffy."

Cryheart says, "Stop passing judgement all, we need to find out what happened."

Speaking to Irval, Dendum asks, ""You are saying you saw the dwarf kill someone...right here?"

Lithyia says, "The man has a purple squirrel for a pet...not sure you can believe what comes out of his mouth."

Irval says, "Im telling you what happened."

Irval exclaims, "I watched it happen with Dendum and Lithyia as there but they cheered him on!"

Lithyia laughs!

Speaking to Irval, Dendum exclaims, ""Right here we cheered?!"

Irval says, "Not right here, right outside the gates."

Vaemyr says, "I mean I've seen Gutstorm kill plenty of the red watch around town, so it wouldn't surprise me if he killed soldiers too."

Lithyia asks, "You know what i saw tonight?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Now me know yoo makin all dish up."

Speaking seriously to Gutstorm, Kiyna asks, "...Did you do this?"

Cryheart says, "But that is nae here."

Irval says, "Where Rheshay was taken by the guards."

Irval says, "The guards that were right there."

Lithyia says, "I saw Sablo act in a disgusting manner."

Irval says, "Were killed."

Irval says, "Single-handedly by Gutstorm."

Lithyia says, "That's what I saw."

Samfelt says, "Sablo is Sablo."

Speaking to Irval, Dendum says, ""Rheshay was taken by the guards on the other side of the Bridge."

Speaking to Irval, Leafiara asks, "Wait, so we're investigating weapons near the Drakes headquarters, but your claim is somehow about what happened elsewhere outside the gates?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Kelfyr asks, "Is that an explanation or an excuse?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Me think it wud Sablo, all mad bout how thing went down tonite dat he not kill Nalver."

Speaking to Lithyia, Bellaja adds, "Normal."

Irval says, "No."

Lithyia says, "He doesnt even make sense."

Lithyia glances at Irval.

Speaking to Irval, Dendum asks, ""So you are saying that Gutstrom killed this soldier...and drug the weapon over to this spot and made a neat pile?"

Irval says, "Im talking about Gutstorm killing the Imperial Soldiers."

Speaking to Lithyia, Bellaja adds, "Unacceptable, still normal it seems."

Thrassus says, "I think these were a different group of soldiers."

Samfelt says, "I am saying that these soldiers were not Sablo."

Irval says, "Several rugged looking ones."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Nalver says, "You assume he would be victorious. That hurts."

Samfelt asks, "Do you think we are all the same?"

Cryheart asks, "Ok..some citizens killed at the gate, northern gate?"

Sraven says, "Perhasps Irval is causing a ruckus."

Samfelt scoffs.

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "I thinks these are two different inccidents."

Thrassus looks over at Samfelt and shakes his head.

Thrassus says, "Of course not."

Lithyia says, "Irval should see someone about the delusions he's having."

Nairena says, "I dont see Gutsy as a neat and tidy kind of dwarf."

Lithyia says, "He's clearly not well."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Mushta been anudder Gutstorm den, cuz me no liff me fingers in anger all night."

Gutstorm grunts at Irval and shakes his head.

Speaking to Irval, Dendum asks, ""You get hit with another Rook Rock in the head?"

Tikba says, "Sablo was their commander. Surely they obeyed his commands, and sought his favor."

Irval says, "You said dhesh broke the truce."

Tayler says, "Regardless, this is nobodys jurisdiction out here. Perhaps they fell to misadventure, you said they had been drinking, there's a cliff right there."

Irval says, "So they deserved tro die."

Lithyia says, "We should take pity on him."

Speaking to a lazy wild dark grey dog, Bellaja asks, "What is it puppy?"

Irval says, "Or something like that."

Cryheart says, "Not necessarily."

Geijon says, "I am leaving. So few can resolve to consider facts it's not worth me even trying."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Nairena says, "No offense buddy."

Sraven says, "Samfelt has been calm in speaking."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "Can you please tell me, when these soldiers, the ones that were here, disapeared. Was it after the attacks last night? Or sometime today."

Leafiara says, "Vaemyr's question is key here."

Samfelt says, "Then I will have the sad duty to report them as missing for now. I hope they turn up."

Speaking to Irval, Dendum says, ""Well...did say that the empire broke the truce after they broke the truce."

Samfelt put a sharply-honed veil iron short sword in his leather scabbard.

Speaking to Samfelt, Perigourd says, "If I see them, I'll send word."

Sir Geijon just went south.

Irval says, "You are all liars."

Irval says, "Unbelievable."

Irval dissolves into motes of miasmic grey light that flow south.

Graveyard Shift

Samfelt says, "It is not like them to abandon their weapons."

Lithyia asks, "Like Samfelt you mean?"

Missoni says, "We will be on the lookout for them."

Lithyia says, "Then i suppose we are all equals."

Cryheart says, "Again, perhaps they were taken."

Samfelt says, "I fear the worst has transpired. Their families may never know the peace of the truth."

Speaking to Lithyia, Bellaja says, "We aren't."

Cryheart says, "But we need evidence of sorts."

Dendum says, ""But...just agreed with you and then you said 'you are all liars'....so confused...."

Samfelt asks, "But what do I know about truth? Right?"

Samfelt smirks.

Leafiara says, "They'll indeed never know the peace of the truth if we don't find out what the truth is. So let's work to eliminate possibilities."

'Samfelt says, "More than you think, I suspect."

Lithyia says, "Right."

Tikba mildly agrees, "Yes."

Speaking to Samfelt, Sraven says, "We can lead a group to find them."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Irval need to shtick to one shtory."

Speaking to Samfelt, Thrassus says, "If you recover any of thier belongings, I encourage you to contact Stormyrain. She may be able to find information."

Speaking to Samfelt, Nairena says, "Tyeid returned me with my entrails out and nearly dead."

Cryheart says, "Stop countering each other with insults."

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum says, ""Imagine as much as you avoid it must at least be able to recognize it."

Samfelt says, "You have to know the truth, to know a lie."

[General] Irval thinks, "I can't believe im a party to such liars and thieves! The nerve to doubt what I witnessed first hand. Disgusting."

Speaking to Samfelt, Nairena says, "Unless he plans on turning them into dinner. Tyeid rather enjoyed my hand."

Leafiara says, "We can more productively determine what happened here by rationally assessing possibility, impossibility, likelihood, and unlikelihood."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "Do you know when they disapeared? I would like to help bring closure here, but I'm sorry I'm a bit lost."

Cryheart says, "A krol."

Morikun asks, "What yas all be about tonight, eh?"

Lithyia says, "Not manrolt."

Cryheart says, "Or the Ember Vale wizard."

Speaking to Cryheart, Thrassus says, "It seems some want to make things worse simply for thier own entertainment."

Dendum asks, "Well since these soldiers over here were not involved in the attack on the hill.....let us find them yes?"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Oh, we doin shum shooper shloothin."

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "I don't think I'm cut out for that commitee."

Samfelt says, "I came looking for them after Sablo was reported to have gone on some fool's errand. The soldiers were concerned and asked if I could try to intervene, as our Emissary."

Speaking to Bellaja, Leafiara asks, "You mean the town council?"

Tikba mildly says, "And timely you were."

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "Certainly not that."

Samfelt says, "But it seems, in their search to find Commander Sablo, they have gone missing."

Speaking to Lithyia, Morikun says, "Big shame in 'tat one. Better wort' teh time of all 'tese folks and politic'n."

Vaemyr says, "Ok so Sablo acted on his own, these soldiers tried to stop him, and they went missing."

Cryheart says, "And they came here ye say."

Speaking to Samfelt, Leafiara asks, "Okay... and this was tonight?"

Leafiara asks, "Just now?"

Qistra asks, "Who went missingh?"

Vaemyr says, "That helps a lot."

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "No, no. the one to determine right and wrong."

Nairena says, "Sablo wouldnt like that."

Perigourd says, "Then it's entirely possible they were taken."

Samfelt says, "Soldiers do not try to stop their Commander. They were following his orders as best I could tell."

Perigourd says, "The bridge and the mine isn't far off."

Speaking to Perigourd, Missoni says, "Down the river, even."

Samfelt says, "But that does not make them guilty of his own actions."

Dendum says, "The graveyard..."

Bellaja says, "Simply because I've no patience justifying someone because becfore they were labeled "good or evil"."

Sraven says, "I followed as fast as i could but got lost like a ranger."

Samfelt sighs.

Speaking to Missoni, Perigourd says, "Perhaps like those from the mountain left."

Samfelt nods at Sraven.

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "We suspected there could be a spider nest in the graveyard."

Sraven nods at Samfelt.

Samfelt says, "I too have trouble navigating the woods around here."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Am not like shpidersh."

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "If they were taken as feed..."

Bellaja whispers something to Leafiara.

Sraven says, "Their companions in the wind too."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Dendum says, ""Now the spiders would kidnap."

Leafiara says, "Well, we can have a look about."

Sraven says, "Thier companions."

A cloud of dense silvery fog suddenly appears. The fog quickly dissipates to reveal Irval.

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "We are close enough for them to of tunneled here I think."

Speaking to Samfelt, Tikba says, "You should not go wandering without a guard, then."

Irval says, "I cant find any remains on the ground."

Lithyia wryly says, "Oh look..he's back."

Speaking evenly to Samfelt, Kiyna offers, "I have no interest in helping you. But I will try to help your soldiers. They are blamele- No. Without blame in this. I will let you know if I turn anything up."

Bellaja whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking to Gutstorm, Nairena says, "Never trust anything with six legs or more."

Speaking mildly to Samfelt, Tikba says, "The woods near Wehnimer's Landing hold many dangers."

Dendum agreeably says, "Well let us find what we can find."

Kelfyr says, "The soldiers definitely found Sablo at least twice, and then he went running off alone, rather than with his retinue."

Morikun says, "If yas all just stayed round 'tem Landing walls instead 'o rush'n off into 'tem forests all the time follow'n errant squires, wouldn't get so lost in 'tem woods."

Speaking to Irval, Dendum says, ""Oi, welcome back! We are looking for Soldiers."

Speaking to Samfelt, Sraven asks, "Do you need protection?"

Irval says, "Looking for remains yes."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Help ush find dem Irval."

Speaking to Irval, Dendum says, ""Well we hope to find one alive who can tell the story of what happened."

Irval says, "But Im pretty sure if there were any Gutstorm has them in his bags."

Lithyia says, "The real story."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "We will check the graveyard near here, see if we can find any traces there."

Morikun asks, "Who soldiers we lose'n?"

Irval says, "The real story is Gut killed them while you two cheered it on."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Perigourd says, "It could be similar to those who have dissapeared on Luinne Bheinn."

Lithyia says, "You keep saying that..."

Leafiara enthuses, "Let's investigate!"

Speaking to Irval, Thrassus says, "This is a seperate group of soldiers."

Samfelt says, "Judge me all you want. I did what I had to do." [unclear who this is a response to]

Speaking to Samfelt, Tayler says, "What you wanted to do, anyways."

Irval says, "And lets not forget that the Rook co cospirators were guilty on several charges."

Cryheart says, "Well..the graveyard is close by."

Tikba neutrally says, "We all must do what we think is right."

Speaking to Samfelt, Sraven asks, "May we join you in searching for the lost?"

Thrassus says, "Two charges."

Leafiara didactically says, "Two is not several."

Irval says, "Even if a dying woman took your consecutive sentence in your place."

Samfelt says, "I had no idea what Thadston intended. I was doing what Lord Elidal asked of me, and was in shock when he had the Rooks harmed."

Leafiara adds, "And she's not going to die, we'll see to it."

Speaking to Irval, Tayler says, "It's weird how my reasonable points sound so much more unreasonable when you adopt them."

Sraven asks, "May we join you in searching for the lost?"

Samfelt says, "That story isn't bringing these soldiers back, either way."

Speaking to Tayler, Irval says, "I speak rather bluntly."

Samfelt says, "Yes, we should look around."

Leafiara agrees, "Yes, so let's see if we can find any trail."

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum says, ""Samfelting is like starting fire in bed....can't really be sure what will burn next."

Vaemyr says, "We should check the Graveyard, see if there's traces of the spiders."

Morikun asks, "Who 'tem soldier lost?"

Speaking to Irval, Tayler says, "True... phrasing is the key to diplomacy."

Lithyia says, "I prefer to stay away from spiders."

Lithyia says, "Good luck to you all."

Sraven says, "Let do a search."

Lithyia says, "Well..most of you."

Lithyia glances at Samfelt.

Lithyia glances at Irval.

Cryheart says, "Form on Vaemyr."

Samfelt asks, "Would anyone with good knowledge of the area like to lead the search?"

Speaking to Morikun, Leafiara says, "Found discarded voulges and no bodies, so we're investigating what might have happened."

Speaking to Tayler, Irval says, "Dont like saying flowery words when the straightest ditance between two points is a line."

Speaking to Samfelt, Dendum says, ""Vaemyr is very famous for knowing about dead bodies."

Samfelt joins Vaemyr's group.

Speaking politely to Samfelt, Tikba says, "You speak as though you do feel regret, though you claim otherwise."

Leafiara recites:

"Everyone join Vaemyr!"

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "I guess I am..."

Cryheart says, "And keep in mind, the graveyard will separate folks."

Speaking to Leafiara, Morikun asks, "It 'tem Emps, not a big loss though, eh?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Tikba says, "If the choice was right, then you would not feel guilt at the consequences."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We goin onna parade."

Vaemyr says, "Everyone here? gonna head that way..."

Cryheart says, "We entering a forest where we sall get lost."

Speaking to Morikun, Leafiara says, "Well, Samfelt's saying one of ours was taken too... I'm still confused on the timeline, but we have to learn more."

Dendum exclaims, "Let us rescue some empire soliders!"

[travel]

Dendum says, "Who are naked for some reason."

Speaking to Samfelt, Sraven asks, "Do you need an magical protection?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Dendum says, ""Must be honest it is hard to understand the naked part."

[Lower Trollfang, Forest]

You are surrounded by trees. Trees in front of you, trees behind you. Trees to the right and trees to the left. Never before in your life have you seen so many trees.

Cryheart says, "Alternate paths."

Vaemyr says, "Please go north and northeast."

[travel]

Morikun says, "Yas some slowpokes."

Cryheart asks, "Did we lose Samfelt?"

Vaemyr says, "Maybe."

Samfelt wanders in from the south.

Leafiara says, "There he is."

Samfelt joins Vaemyr's group.

Kelfyr says, "It is an odd forest for the unfamiliar."

Perigourd says, "It's open." [the gate]

With the grace of a swan, Gutstorm vaults over the deadly spikes of the iron gate and lands gingerly on the ground before you. It looks as though he is waiting for applause or something.

Gutstorm yells, "Gerominoe!"

Samfelt glances between Irval and Gutstorm.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "How me lanndin?"

Vaemyr says, "Alright, lets look for any signs of spiders."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Dendum says, ""Err..."

Vaemyr says, "Or the soldiers."

Tikba says, "There are spiders near the river."

Dendum asks, "Can be more specific?"

Tikba says, "I found them to my cost."

Leafiara says, "Bigger than normal spiders, maybe."

Morikun says, "What 'tem spiders gotta do with soldiers."

[travel and minor combat throughout]

Thrassus says, "I believe the spiders are normally found in the burial mound."

Dendum says, "See some ghoul tracks."

Dendum says, "See some goblin tracks."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Doesh anybutty shpeak shpider?"

Dendum says, "Ohh see a mummy track."

Samfelt removes a sharply-honed veil iron short sword from in his leather scabbard.

Tayler says, "I have some spiders that speak spider, probably."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "How yoo see dem track? all me shee is Vaemyr big butt."

Kiyna says, "We needn't waste time on the lesser undead right now. Though clear them out if you like, the place can always use a good culling."

Leafiara says, "Wormwood Slough was my earliest favorite ground to explore..."

Dendum says, "Hrmm there is a phantom track..those are hard to see."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Evia says, "Don't know about shpider but more than a few speak with forked tongue."

Tikba whispers something to Gutstorm.

Dendum says, "There is a revenant track..."

Dendum says, "See a Gutstrom."

Dendum says, "Hrmm."

Thrassus says, "I suspect looking underground might be closer to any trail."

Tikba slowly says, "I think we must find what happened to the soldiers."

Dendum says, "Ohh a cobra track."

Dendum says, "Ohh yes."

Dendum says, "Spiders here."

Dendum says, "And dirges."

Dendum exclaims, "Might not be the spiders we are looking for!"

Vaemyr says, "Those poor hobgoblins."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "We should git a ghoul nail er two fer da future auction."

Tayler asks, "Why are we bullying the wildlife?"

Dendum says, "Alse see a jackal around here hrmm..."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Kelfyr says, "Problem is not accidentally selling it beforehand."

A tiny, pale white spider skitters along the ground, vanishing from sight behind a nearby tombstone.

Thrassus exclaims, "There!"

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Uh oh."

Leafiara says, "Hmm."

Kiyna says, "Let it guide us. There might be more."

Samfelt frowns.

Samfelt shudders.

Leafiara surprisedly says, "Gotta admit, I didn't actually think we'd find anything here, but..."

Vaemyr says, "There's a passageway down near here."

Kelfyr says, "That was about the size of the one in the courtroom the other day."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "What I was thinking too."

Tikba whispers something to Leafiara.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Ye know da ol shayin, when ye nookin fer trubba, ye bind to find it."

[Wormwood Slough, Excavated Pit]

The thick, mossy branches of the overhanging yews cast shifting shadows over the walls and floor of the excavation, and filtered moonlight flickers on the ground where a few shallow puddles of dampness have seeped in from the bog. The walls of the pit are riddled with gnarled roots and long-buried bones still imbedded in the earth, and matted with layers of dirt and moss that hint that the depression was dug at least a century ago. The south wall forms a slope leading up to the path. You also see an animated flayed gigas disciple, a greater ghoul, a death dirge, a death dirge, a hobgoblin, a greater ghoul, a piece of yellow jasper and a broken granite archway half-buried in the north wall of the pit.

[General] Nairena asks, "Who's peeking in on me?"

Vaemyr says, "Might be some clues here."

Leafiara says, "Hmm."

>l slab

The slab looks as if it had been cleaned of layers of age-old soil and debris centuries ago, and grown over again with dust and moss that have not yet managed to obscure the legend engraved into its face. Though the words are unfamiliar, the characters are similar to those common in runes and magical writings, and it is possible to decipher their probable sound if not their meaning.

Speaking thoughtfully to a half-buried grey stone slab, Tikba says, "Gosaena."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Anyone read dat nonshench?"

>read slab

~ Dha baes'irin dha shi ta liat shi hestos i siath a shidar ~ Oraesh'lan dha laediach ta geilach ~ Oraesh'lan'da ta Gosaena ~

From under a broken granite archway, you hear Drazinoth yell, "Feed, my hungry little friends!"

Tikba says, "Oh."

Kiyna exclaims, "Ambush!"

Leafiara surprisedly says, "Huh."

Cryheart says, "Aha."

Dendum says, "Dhe baes'irin."

A huge bulbous incarnadine spider just skittered in.

A mammoth arachnid just skittered in.

A tiny pale spider just skittered in.

Leafiara says, "I... didn't actually expect him, but."

Missoni says, "We must speak with him."

[combat]

Samfelt swings a sharply-honed veil iron short sword at a huge bulbous incarnadine spider!

Samfelt screams!

[combat]

Dendum asks, "Wait which spider person is this?"

[combat]

Kiyna exclaims, "Try to capture Drazinoth!"

[combat]

Dendum asks, "The human?"

[combat]

Leafiara says, "Think this is the Spider Temple one."

[combat]

Kiyna exclaims, "Aye, the human!"

[combat]

Cryheart says, "We found spiders."

Leafiara says, "Hmm."

Samfelt asks, "That is the priest you mentioned? Drazinoth?"

Tikba says, "Drazinoth."

Perigourd says, "Indeed."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "It was."

Missoni says, "The very same."

Tikba says, "We should attempt to capture him."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "He drag me off in a web one time."

Bellaja says, "Just the spring litter."

Irval says, "Last time I almost had Drazinoth , Nalver blew him up."

Vaemyr asks, "Did it seem like the voice came from outside?"

Thrassus says, "Snaring two important members of our enemies' ranks in one night would be a good feat."

Tikba says, "From beyond the arch."

Evia says, "Under or something."

Samfelt says, "He seems to be feeding a new group of spiders. We suspected this last night."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "Aye."

Tikba says, "I suppose he took the soldiers for them."

Speaking to Samfelt, Kiyna says, "I fear what he may be feeding to them... we should move quickly."

Speaking to Samfelt, Vaemyr says, "Was why I thought he could of taken the soldiers..."

Dendum says, "This does not sound good for soldiers."

Leafiara says, "Didn't seem like a path through to get wherever he was."

Vaemyr says, "See if there's any tunnels around."

The voice of Drazinoth asks, "Trapped, are you? Nowhere to run?"

Leafiara says, "Hmm."

Samfelt grits his teeth.

[combat]

Cryheart says, "We shall find ye priest."

[combat]

Dendum says, "Oi...where is that human..."

[combat]

Leafiara frankly says, "It's rather easy to get out of this place, Drazinoth."

[combat]

Leafiara says, "Some of us have no less than four ways to do it."

Leafiara says, "No way to run..."

Leafiara scoffs.

Cryheart says, "They scatter like fleas."

Thrassus says, "Plenty of places to run, actually."

Irval says, "Nothing."

Thrassus says, "Now we just need to see which one he's taken."

Samfelt scowls.

Tikba politely says, "I fear your flock will never be the same."

Cryheart says, "I see nothing either."

Drazinoth's Invitation

[Wormwood Slough, Burial Pits]

The foul air from the bog below forms ghostly tendrils of rank-smelling mist that swirl and eddy around the twisted trunks of the ancient yews. The trees crowd the path, their blackened shapes guarding over several deep pits that look to have been dug up long ago and now lie half-overgrown and filled in with dirt and scrub. A particularly large excavation lies just north of the path, its near side shaped into a ramp leading into its depth. You also see a leather helm, an iron battle axe, a leather breastplate, the repousse copper Perigourd disk raised in leafy designs, a greater ghoul that appears dead, a leather helm, an iron battle axe, a leather breastplate and a scratched fel strongbox.

Also here: Whimweaver Leafiara, Squire Missoni, Sir Cryheart, Sarissa Tayler, Emperia, Kelfyr, Squire Skorrian, Town Councilor Kiyna, Lord Thrassus, Dame Evia, Khiya, Sir Balantine, Magister Raelee, Bellaja, Emissary Samfelt, Irval, Seaward Gutstorm, Seneschal Dendum, Tikba, Qistra, Berost, Town Councilor Vaemyr, Perigourd, Lord Drazinoth

Speaking in Guildspeak, Gutstorm drunkenly slurs something you don't understand.

Dendum yells, "Eh human...we have acolyte for temple...named Tolmfelt you want him?"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Perigourd asks, "Feeding another brood?"

Speaking in Guildspeak to Gutstorm, Missoni asks something you don't understand.

Drazinoth says, "Come to find your faith renewed? Turn your back on the whims of false promises. Join our temple."

Speaking politely in Guildspeak to Drazinoth, Tikba says, "Good evening."

Kelfyr says, "Odd recruiting pitch."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Perigourd asks, "What do you offer besides being fed to a spider?"

Cryheart says, "We came seeking soldiers."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Give ush back da shouldersh ye took!"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Vaemyr asks, "Have you been working with a shaman by the name of Tyeid?"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Dendum asks, ""Where are the naked soldiers?"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Tayler says, "What manner of madman would choose to venerate such a weak arkati."

Leafiara says, "I'll pass. I prefer the Huntress to Arachne, and even then she's only my.. fourth or fifth favorite, perhaps."

Evia says, "No thanks, had enough of cults."

Drazinoth says, "We offer freedom. A chance to unburden yourself of laws and falsehoods."

Irval says, "Easy now, He is definitely working with ..."The Eater'."

Speaking to himself, Dendum says, ""And clothes."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Oh me like dem lawsh."

Tikba calmly says, "I am already free."

Irval says, "His method of escape is identical."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Missoni says, "You are made of falsehood."

Cryheart says, "Ye hae the falsehoods of Arachne."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Kiyna says, "Your goddess is like all the rest. Toss 'em all in the bin, I say. You're coming with us."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Dendum asks, ""Where are the soldiers?"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Dendum says, ""We will trade you samfelt for them."

Samfelt exclaims, "Drazinoth! What have you done with the soldiers?!"

Speaking to Kiyna, Dendum asks, ""No?"

Dendum says, "Fine."

Drazinoth asks, "Soldiers?"

Cryheart says, "We will nae trade Samfelt."

Drazinoth laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.

Speaking to Dendum, Kiyna says, "Now's not the time."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Missoni asks, "Are you feeding them to your spiders?"

Speaking drunkenly to Drazinoth, Gutstorm slurs, "Da onesh Irval said ye tooked!"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Dendum asks, ""Yes..soldiers...with the armor and the weapons...from the empire...you know this word?"

Qistra says, "Trade? is not an options."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Leafiara says, "You know, the sort of ragged looking ones."

Drazinoth asks, "Why would I want soldiers? Empty sacks of bloodless husks now, or perhaps you speak of others?"

Leafiara says, "Hmm."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Dat not a denial."

Thrassus says, "Ah, so you did take them."

Morikun says, "If 'tey be just impies, can have 'tah Samfelt one and keep 'tem soldiers too mayhaps."

Samfelt grits his teeth.

Speaking to Drazinoth, Dendum asks, ""You took all the blood?"

Drazinoth rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Thrassus says, "Remember, Mother turned herself in so all this rancor can end."

Drazinoth says, "The spiders drink their fill. They must feed, and grow."

Drazinoth says, "Join the temple, and learn more of our ways."

Kelfyr says, "Must they."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Missoni asks, "Where are the...remains?"

Irval says, "Well he admits to being a party of murder by spiders."

Tikba impatiently asks, "Where is Tyeid?"

Kiyna says, "I've heard enough from this lunatic. Someone break his calming spell. Let's take him in."

Samfelt says, "We... I will not join your cult."

Speaking to Kiyna, Dendum asks, ""can we just kill this one?"

Speaking to Samfelt, Kelfyr says, "No, we was right."

Thrassus says, "Arachne is too minor of an Arkati to be bothered following, to be honest."

Speaking to Dendum, Vaemyr says, "Capture would be better... throw in a bane cell."

Drazinoth says, "We did not feed on any soldiers tonight, Herald of Darkstone."

Leafiara says, "Some of us wouldn't even describe her as an Arkati."

Samfelt frowns at Drazinoth.

Sraven asks, "Who has peace up?"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Perigourd asks, "What do you know of Tyeid?"

Leafiara says, "Curious... so the mystery continues."

Speaking to Sraven, Perigourd says, "Drazinoth does."

Speaking to Thrassus, Bellaja says, "No need for a demanding arkati who offers so little."

Samfelt exclaims, "Wh-what happened to them then? You-you will still answer for what you are doing here!"

Irval says, "If its the soldiers that were missing from when Sablo was here for the Reiver emissary. I already told you all where they went."

Speaking drunkenly to Leafiara, Gutstorm slurs, "We cant take a cult leader word, dey play witchoo mind."

Morikun says, "I ain't teh hero type wit' any skills for apprehend'n, so guess 'tat's all yalls job."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Sraven says, "Coward like Sablo."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "I'm not sure I see a reason he'd deny it, though... seems like a kind of thing to brag about to demonstrate superiority."

Drazinoth exclaims, "I am simply allowing my flock to eat. Who are you to interrupt me? Peasant! You are not even a lord! You own no land!"

Drazinoth points at Samfelt.

Drazinoth cackles deep in his throat, his voice rising in chilling laughter.

Speaking to Drazinoth, Kiyna asks, "And... you own land?"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Vaemyr says, "The blood shaman, who has been using spiders, is he getting them from you or does he grow his own."

Leafiara says, "Well, just give him time. His upward trajectory has been rather sharp."

Tikba politely says, "I cannot join your temple, but I would be happy to learn more of your ways."

Speaking to Kiyna, Morikun says, "Guess he own's all 'tis nice land 'ere."

Morikun says, "Choice slough 'tis one."

Dendum says, "This is all very confusing now."

Speaking to Dendum, Leafiara repeats, "Now?"

Speaking to Drazinoth, Thrassus says, "You are aware that the spiders you gave the shaman have done nothing but die? He's wasting them like they are coin."

Drazinoth says, "I am Lord Drazinoth. I sold my wife's land, after she passed. Oh, I wish she were here. But alas... her fate was not to be with me."

Leafiara offhandedly says, "Back momentarily..."

[Leafi gets the invoker, then returns, hopefully not having missed anything]

Speaking politely to Drazinoth, Tikba asks, "Was she a weaver?"

Leafiara says, "Was she--"

Speaking drunkenly to Sraven, Gutstorm slurs, "Shpider food."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Tayler says, "You fed her to your spiders, didn't you."

Speaking to Tikba, Leafiara says, "Beat me to it."

Drazinoth says, "In my pain over her loss, I joined the temple and gave them all I had."

Drazinoth says, "Woe is me."

Speaking to Drazinoth, Morikun says, "Yas shoulda joined one of 'em cults 'tat brings back dead loves instead of 'em spiders."

Drazinoth cackles deep in his throat, his voice rising in chilling laughter.

Speaking to Drazinoth, Kiyna says, "You sold your wife's land. Therefore you own no land. Therefore you are not a Lord."

Kiyna peers quizzically at Drazinoth.

Drazinoth mockingly says, "Fools."

Samfelt tightens his grip on his veil iron short sword.

Speaking to Drazinoth, Leafiara asks, "Were you from Riverwood perhaps? Once?"

Vaemyr glances at Leafiara.

Tikba says, "A long time ago, now."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara asks, "Or was it Bourth?"

Samfelt asks, "We wanted information from this one? Didn't we?"

Speaking slowly to Samfelt, Leafiara says, "Yes."

Speaking to Samfelt, Missoni says, "We certainly did."

Drazinoth scoffs.

Drazinoth moves to a kneeling position.

Lord Drazinoth just crawled west.

Town Councilor Vaemyr's group just went west.

[Wormwood Slough, Burial Pits]

A dank mist rises from the depths of the bog, seeping along even the highest points of the creek bank to collect in the sunken patches of ground that mark age-old graves. The high ground continues to the east, dropping off steeply into the effluvium of the slough, the precipitous path held together only by the glistening black roots of the ancient trees. You also see a hobgoblin, a death dirge, a black scimitar, a leather helm, an iron battle axe, a leather helm, an iron battle axe and a leather breastplate.

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "Crack him odor da head like Sablo do ta Rheshay, but dont tell dem we doonin parley."

Lord Drazinoth just crawled south.

Vaemyr traces a sign that contorts in the air while he forcefully incants a dark invocation...

Town Councilor Vaemyr's group just went south.

[Wormwood Slough, Burial Pits]

Stinking mud seeps into the large rectangular depressions sunk here and there into the relatively dry ground of this rise. Some of the filled pits to the south of the path bear markers, but no names grace the stones above the mass graves. Those who lie beneath the markers were likely nameless even in life, and clearly none there are lamented now. You also see an animated flayed gigas disciple and a greater ghoul.

Vaemyr gestures at Drazinoth.

Missoni rummages through a black alligator skin case with a polished pear wood clasp and removes an embossed ovaline palimpsest tinted in vivid jewel tones from in it.

Missoni raises her ovaline palimpsest and gestures.

Sparks begin to fly between the ovaline palimpsest and Missoni's fingers.

With a sudden burst of enthusiasm, the sparks jump into Missoni's hand and she seems to glow with power.

Missoni put an embossed ovaline palimpsest tinted in vivid jewel tones in her alligator skin case.

Drazinoth is already suffering from eternal sleep.

Missoni gestures.

A sense of peace and calm settles over the area.

Vaemyr says, "Don't kill."

Tikba says, "Wait."

Leafiara says, "Well."

Kiyna says, "Stop-"

Irval says, "Why Sraven."

Leafiara says, "That..."

Evia says, "Great."

Tayler says, "That's the opposive of alive."

Gutstorm drunkenly slurs, "To much powder."

Irval exclaims, "Now he gets away!"

Speaking wryly to Drazinoth, Tikba asks, "Do you need a cleric's help?"

Berost deeply says, "Werny me."

Morikun says, "Huh, 'tat be some kinda sleep 'fer sures."

Perigourd says, "Perhaps bind his body and revive him."

Cryheart asks, "Could ye just animate him?"

Kelfyr says, "Easier to transport, I suppose."

Drazinoth shifts suddenly as a horde of tiny spiders crawl over his body and cover it in webs before dragging him away!

Leafiara hums a cheerful tune! Pure white and bold red mana wisps dance about her like wind-borne leaves, then pulse brightly as she sings a sylvan phrase in a strong, clear voice.

[was trying to cast Well of Life, but he was already gone]

Tayler says, "Animate him."

Irval says, "The spider minions of his will drag him away where on of his fellow priests will bring him back up."

Balantine quietly says, "He defended from voln sleep by some sorta cocoon about him."
